I love radiohusk so much
Headcanons?
I do and then my mind suddenly went blank ARGH but from off the top of my head and this will be rambly:
Husk and Alastor knew each other when they were alive. Alastor was older than Husk, who was in his early 20s, by like a decade and was already a famous radio star when they first met.
They knew each other for around ten years until Alastor’s death, which Husk may or may not have something to do with. (I’ll write this fic someday).
Alastor was also Husk’s gay awakening in a sense because he genuinely found the older man so charming and handsome.
Not really radiohusk, but after Alastor’s death, Husk did eventually get married and had a kid–a daughter. He’s extremely relieved his family is not in Hell with him.
Alastor is actually really pleased Husk is a cat demon because the man has always preferred cats. He sees it as like the universe saying Husk belongs to him.
Husk was the one who first taught Alastor how to play poker when they were alive.
Now and then, Husk will sometimes perform magic tricks for Alastor because they both genuinely enjoy it. It’s one of their brighter moments together.
If Husk puts on some jazz, particularly if it’s on a record player, Alastor will immediately come by to listen to it with him. Husk says it’s annoying and he hates that but then he just does it again anyway.
Alastor purposely gets Husk drunk as often as he can. It's the perfect way to get Husk more open and needy...
Husk’s cat demon body betrays him a lot, and Alastor is really, really good at petting. Husk will unconsciously purr when it happens and is always incredibly embarrassed.
Alastor keeps a little jar of Husk’s feathers on his desk and uses them like a quill pen. He thinks it’s funny.
When they were alive, Alastor liked to jumpscare Husk randomly like with funny Halloween-type pranks. In Hell, he still does this.
Alastor used to stalk through Husk’s casinos in hiding before the fated deal, because he didn’t want Husk to recognize him just yet.
Oh also, when they were alive, Alastor had planned to first kill Husk, but then changed his mind. When he found Husk again in Hell, he definitely planned to kill him and tear apart his soul—then changed his mind again. Cycles and cycles.
Once, Husk performed at Alastor’s radio show broadcast in Hell as a singer. Only once and never again.
Alastor rarely sleeps, but when he does, he wants Husk with him. Like a favorite pillow. So those seven years he was gone was actually the least time he had ever slept.
Alastor and Husk met again after those seven years before the pilot-- Alastor was spying on Husk for a little before showing himself. He wanted to see if Husk had effectively moved on and became an Overlord again. (Husk didn't).
Alastor is disinterested in sex for the most part, at least for himself, he just really likes seeing how Husk reacts to it all. But he does enjoy kissing.
Sorry this got long and made little sense but basically I love the idea of Husk and Alastor having a history together. Thanks for the ask, anon!

@dragcns-den wanted more Gay Shit
"You are an asshole!" Yelled as the front door was literally kicked open, that poor lock not having a single hope when matched against Giovanni Potage!
Still, despite his strong entrance, it was clear by Gio's tone that he was anything but angry, the shouting being solely for dramatic affect, which was always important. "How dare you start a war of affections with me while I was enacting my most evil of plans!" (IE: Stealing a bear plushie for Molly out of a claw machine that would spurn him no longer!) "There is no room for love in the midst of such vile atrocities!" That didn't stop him from returning the warm feeling of love across their bond though, it seemingly having become one of Rick's favorite pastimes as of late, to bombard his friends whenever he got the urge to let them know just how much he cared for them. Gio still remembers the first time he'd felt it, the sudden feeling of pure, unrestrained affection literally knocking him to his knees as it took his breath from his lungs. It hadn't taken long to put two and two together after that, Rick quickly turning from loving to fearful so suddenly that it too could be felt across their bond, there being no way it could all be chalked up to coincidence.
Rick was mostly unphased, having to push down the initial fear of the sudden entrance despite knowing it was only Giovanni. He met the dramatic shouting with an evil laugh in turn, dark wisps of miasma emitting from his upturned palms most menacingly.
"Fool! You believed yourself free from my grasp simply because you were busy!? The downfall is of your own making!" It didn't matter where any of his friends were or what they were doing, he was going to send them love whenever he pleased! He needed them to know at any given moment when his mind grew cruel, it making him twitchy and unnerved whenever he'd tried to suppress the urge at first.
"You will never know peace so long as we are bound heart and soul! Such is the consequences of-" He cut himself off at the sight of the stuffed bear in Gio's hand, his eyes now shining as a hand came up to his mouth as if to hide a gasp. "Oooooo! What is that adorable little creature? Will it require sustenance? What does such a mighty being endeavor to consume?" Rapid fire questions didn't give Gio a chance to answer until Rick was nose to nose with the stuffed animal that had been held up for him to see more clearly.
"Oh this?" He sounded way too smug about a plushie. "It's a stuffed animal! One that Bear Trap and I tried for hours to win. But I emerged victorious in the end!!" A pause, the theatrics being toned down within the span of a blink. "Oh uh, I'm not allowed at the arcade in the mall anymore. Like that's gonna stop me. Stupid mall cop thinks he can control me."
Setting the bear onto the dining table so Molly would see it upon coming home from school, Rick stayed near nose to nose with the fluffy thing with that shine never dulling for even a moment.
"Fascinating! What is the purpose of these 'stuffed animals'? Is it customary to gift the deceased to a loved one?" A genuine question, one that pulled a laugh from Gio as he settled the little bear to sit up against a couple school books Molly had left there. It wasn't out of malice though, something Gio made sure to tell Rick every now and then so he didn't get the wrong idea. He thought such questions were cute, that puppy dog look of excitement Rick got enough to inadvertently shoot affection across their bond, Gio always felt it so strongly upon seeing it.
"It's just fabric, dude. Made into a little friend! Kinda like...THIS!" Pulled dramatically from his inner coat pocket was another plushie, this one being a stuffed chameleon that was purple and red in color. "I actually paid for this one, saw it while they were escorting me out of the mall. Had to sneak back in to buy it, but I had to! It was too perfect!!"
Those puppy dog eyes quickly switched their excitement to this new reveal, Rick growing so giddy he began to rapidly clap his hands as he bounced in place.
"I LOVE IT!!" Loud, but Gio hardly minded. "Who is this fabric friend for?" A question Giovanni knew to be genuine by the curiosity that skipped across their bond, it bringing a fond smile to his face.
"It's for you, ya goof!" A dramatic gasp at the new new reveal, Rick lighting up like a firework as he nearly plowed into Gio's chest for a tight hug. One that had Gio lifted a good couple inches off the ground, something that had a blush warming up his face with a feeling he didn't quite know how to place.
"I LOVE IT!!!" Somehow even louder than before, Gio was set down in favor of hugging the plushie to his chest, Rick being filled with joy one might expect of a child or a man who hadn't received a gift like this in years.
"Where is your fabric friend?" Asked with that same eager grin as he smooshed his cheek against the plushie, it quickly turned into a loud gasp as Gio shrugged his shoulders.
"UNACCEPTABLE!!" Shouted before Gio could get even a breath into his lungs, Rick hugged the toy to his chest while he pulled a smiling Giovanni towards the door by the hand.
"Uh, I'm kinda banned from the mall, remember?" Not that he would abide by such a thing, but he was curious as to where Rick would go with this.
"Unimportant!! We must procure you a fabric friend as well!!" He didn't want Giovanni to be left out.
Gio could only give a fond laugh as he shook his head, picking up his pace so he was the one pulling rick along.
"Well then what are we waiting for? Pick up the pace Shades, we gotta get home before Bear Trap so we can see her face when we give her that bear!! I bet she's gonna flip and I don't wanna miss it!!"
#the last couple paragraphs got deleted :C#had to rewrite#probs not as good as they were but close enough dhgkdfg#giovanni potage#rick shades#epithet erased#soupmates#drabbles

Do you have some favourite analyses about Lalo ? (From you or others)
Do I ever!
Lalo is Gay
And I don't mean "can be interrupted as gay" or "the straights wrote a gay character without realizing it", both of which are fine reasons to say a character is gay.
But I mean actually written on purpose gay. Lalo and Gus are written as foils who are superficially different - calculating/spontaneous, orderly/chaotic, serious/playful.
But if you look a little closer, they have a lot in common. Both have no personal life outside the game. Both are playing 5D chess while everyone else is playing checkers. Both are loners who trust almost no one. Both don't flaunt their wealth. Both are motivated by devotion to a loved one.
They're so alike, in fact, that they can almost read each other's minds - Lalo immediately knows who got him sent to jail and who sent the assassins after him, even though he didn't have proof. Gus never believed for a second Lalo was dead, even though every scrap of evidence pointed to it being the case, including a corpse matching Lalo's dental records. Lalo knows Gus tapped the phone. Gus knew Lalo was headed for the lab.
So - although different at first glance, their essential natures are the same. Gus is gay, ergo...
And there are context clues pointing to his sexuality. He's a confirmed bachelor despite the fact that he should be having kids to carry on the family dynasty. He declines the opportunity to have sex with a woman, even though there were very practical reasons for him to have sex with her. Being invited into her home and poking around once she was asleep would have been easier than breaking in, but he chose to hide in the bushes. Plus, he forces Nacho to elope with him.
Will we ever get confirmation? Probably not. But I'm a legit truther on this
Lalo is Satan
Mira -
It's the same picture.
Lalo tempts Jimmy into selling his soul to him, which he later comes to collect. And as I've talked about probably too much, Nacho is very explicitly a Christ figure. Lalo tries to tempt Nacho with power and wealth, but Nacho is never tempted. They really are Cartel Satan and Cartel Jesus, and I love that that ties them together
Lalo is an anti-protagonist
Which is a term I just made up. He's not an antihero - that would be Jimmy. It's just that he hijacks the narrative whenever he shows up. He has a very protagonist-like story - Gus and Nacho are the ones who are sabotaging him, when all he wants to do is protect his family. Assassins are sent to his home, and he defeats them single-handedly. He is betrayed by someone he trusted - someone who he has always treated well and genuinely liked.
But he's not a protagonist! He's a villain, who does very villainous things! On the Insider Podcast for the Black and Blue episode (I think), one of the writers mentions how much she roots for Lalo when he's away from the lead characters. He's written for you to root for, and then feel weird about rooting for.
He's the embodiment of Chuck's final, terrible advice to Jimmy - if you're going to do bad things, don't bother feeling guilty about it. And he only shows up once Chuck is gone. Does Chuck really want Jimmy to be like Lalo? Is Kim's "ends justify the means" attitude in season 6 warranted? How much does motive matter?
@lalo-tellmeagain - we were talking about his blue shoes - I don't have any production notes on this or anything, so this is just my personal interpretation. But blue is the color of the good guys in BCS. Lalo's blue shoes are ironic.

I still fucking love his candor. The functional god of the world calls you up like "Hello there, did I keep you waiting? Sorry."
The level of calm he has here is truly amazing. I am curious if it's a resignation to things, that either he will succeed or not and he's at peace with that, or if there will finally be a crack in his genteel facade in the final battle.
BUT WE AIN'T THERE YET. FIRST, THIS.
THE FACT HE JUST. Calls up, asks to stop by the cafe to pick up his calling card, it's just CHEF'S KISS
Maruki settles in with some coffee and gives the same old spiel he always gives, because really he's been negotiating with the same hand every time.
Akechi is sour apple tart about it all, bless him. Reverie and Maruki can have a civil conversation about the future of reality, but Akechi is sucking lemons and making no effort to hide that. Love Mask Off Akechi with my whole chest.
But also like. MAN. Y'ALL. I had to get up and get some fucking TEA at this point because I was like oh my god they're gonna do it i knew it i dreamed of it.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY WENT THERE
I cannot BELIEVE it.
Reverie got NOTHING out of this fucking new reality, fucking nothing at all, while all of his friends were handed their perfect idyllic lives.
No, the one thing Reverie gets is Akechi.
I cannot believe they actually went there. Holy shit. That's one I didn't expect to call because it's Gay.
Literally nothing changes about his tone or face or posture, but he's lying. Like that moment allllllllllllllll the way back at the buffet when his college buddy mentioned Rumi and nothing changed in Maruki's face but I felt it, how the weight of the moment had just flipped on its axis.
He's lying because this is a hostage situation. He's just too polite to call it one.
I love the motion of Reverie flicking the calling card across the table at Maruki, the casualness of it. Everyone in the room knows the game.
Maruki says the deal is this. He'll go and prepare to meet them in his Palace. If they show up, there will be a fight. If they don't show up, he will take that as them accepting the new reality.
And he leaves. Akechi asks to speak to Reverie alone.
Honest to god, I feel like the canon resolution if you choose to stay in this reality is Akechi leaves and self-terminates. His intense disgust with being anyone's pawn ever again is drenching every word he says.
These two truly are the apex of "Your soul resembles mine (derogatory)" and it's both thrilling and crushing. Also, jfc, Maruki pointing out there isn't ill will or hatred between them. That's honestly so much to unpack.
How much of Akechi being This Degree of a fucking bitch for the last MONTH was genuine and how much was a purposeful attempt to keep anyone from growing attached to him when he's on borrowed time.
To be clear: I still think mask off Akechi is genuinely a huge bitch, but he's pushed his unpleasantness to some pretty incredible extremes....
But also he's avoid doing it other times. He's unerringly civil with Haru and Futaba, for instance. And there's like two moments he makes especially off-color jokes about violence and then admits he's kidding and softens the blow.
I just wonder what might've been different if he didn't know there was a bullet with his name on it already en route and the fate of reality itself depended on him taking it in the chest and preventing anyone from getting in the way.
Final persona pop of the game, I think.
Well, I've definitely seen worse.
Anyway, cannot believe the plot of this campaign is literally "the self-made god of this world offers you a life with the mean boy of your dreams" but here we are.

I have so many thoughts about jengpat this week and none of them articulate enough to make anything of.
Other than saying that while I agree that the pacing is weird this episode, I also think it is kind of the point. At least partially.
I think it’s meant to throw us off but also show us that whole time has passed, Jeng and Pat are not paying attention to that or anything else really as they get more and more lost in their happiness and more sloppy in their attempts to hide it.
The two rushed into things, knowing and not caring that nothing has been resolved because the metaphorical damn finally broke and they didn’t want to try holding back anymore. They just wanted to be together and happy.
In other words, I think the two finally pulled their heads out of their asses and proceeded to shove them into the sand. At least until Pat had no choice but to deal with it since he will have more of the fall out.
Meanwhile Jeng wants to put it off, not because he doesn’t care or doesn’t love Pat but because he’s been through something similar before. I think the reason he left last time was because of love. I don’t think the person he dated worked with him, but the rumours and the way his uncle/the board are treating this. Like they’ve been through this before, like they’re disappointed all over again because Jeng didn’t learn his lesson and didn’t learn how to not be gay while he was gone. I genuinely think the root, at least for his dad and his uncle, had less to with him dating someone in his department and more to do with the fact that Pat is a guy. Hence Jeng’s attempt to hide it and not think about it and to assure his uncle that it’s just rumours. He wants to protect Pat from his family but forgets to protect Pat from his employees. Not in purpose but by accident because he focused on the people who will hurt them the most, his family.
#step by step#step by step the series#jengpat#patjeng#step by step spec#i’m not gonna call it meta#mostly just because it’s my own thoughts#not really analysis or anything#i’m leaving that to the professionals haha#cap watches step by step#cap speaks

I was just aimlessly scrolling through tumblr and came across a post saying " XZ is straight but WY is not* . This assumption was made because apparently: gay ppl know these things. So does that mean I'm now straight because I believe they're both part of the community in some way? 😃. Also if you're assuming WY is gay based on his words, then by that logic Xz past actions put him in close proximity to that.
We all assume based on perception, however to outright dismiss the possibilities on either side just seems absurd to me.
Hi Anon,
I apologize in advance for what's going to be a bit of an annoyed rant about 'gaydar'.
Fake, fan fiction, CPN.
Both of them are obviously 'not straight', because they're in a relationship. Beyond that it's anyone's guess. I personally don't see any evidence of DD being into women. I talked about that in various previous posts, starting here. I think GG is likely bi, given their banter in the BTS.
The Tumblr post might have been referring to an exchange GG had with a gay acquaintance on Weibo where the guy said he thought GG was straight. Just so everyone knows: Gay people do not have 'special magic powers' to read each other's minds, which is what a lot of straight people seem to think (and even some gays).
This is especially true when someone is in the closet and actively trying to hide their sexuality. Men who attract hordes of women like GG does are doubly able to fly under the radar. There is a reason why gay people often do a lot of hand-wringing over whether the person they're attracted to 'plays for their team'.
And let's not forget the whole aspect of bi erasure that GG's friend might have been engaging in, whether or not he intended to.
I want everyone to please understand, because I get a lot of asks about gaydar:
GAYDAR IS A MYTH
And before anyone sends me a bunch of dubious studies claiming it's 60% accurate, those numbers actually prove that gaydar isn't real.
I actually get pissed off when people talk about gaydar and try to make it out to be some sort of real thing. It's not. All gaydar is for the most part, is garden variety gender role stereotyping being cast into some sort of 'folksy queer intuition' branding to make it seem less offensive. Gender presentation, mannerisms and vocal intonations can't tell us about someone's gender or sexuality.
It might sometimes be fun to joke around about certain stereotypical things as being 'very gay', and for the most part I find that harmless and sometimes make those jokes myself, but 'gaydar' can actually be harmful and misleading.
While most of us joking around about stereotypes understand that a flowy blouse or a tight mesh shirt aren't actually gay, a lot of people treat gaydar as science and genuinely believe it's real. I think we need to be cautious about what we claim, and circumspect about how we use 'gaydar'. It is one of those 'for entertainment purposes only' concepts, and should never be treated as hard evidence of anything.
So a gay person who happens to know GG in college will only know about GG, what GG wants him to know.
GG is even more expressive of queer Pride than DD, so I always find it funny when someone refers to him as straight. Whether gay or bi, he's clearly not straight.
And contrary to what a shocking number of BXG believe, straight guys don't fall in love with men and date/marry them.
(BTW, I'm not saying we should never use the term 'gaydar'. It can be fun, and an easy shorthand in certain contexts. I'm just saying we should always be cautious about how we use the term so that A] we're not hurting others and B] we're not misleading others. It's one of those fun but potentially harmful toys that should be taken away from us when we are irresponsible about how how we play with it.)

I will just never trust people who are ignoring Will's characterization lol. ''He is straight passing'' bitch where? Will was the only party member who was singled out as being subjected to homophobic bullying, and I am sorry but Mike hasn't faced homophobia, homophobic bullying/abuse... which is why it is important to recognize because their narratives are different. It's such a pet peeve of mine because it is undermining the narrative of the characters and their differences. This, and that 'buff!Byers' headcanons... I dislike so much because Will is not supposed to be buff you guys just made it up in your heads and passing it is as canon. The reason why the constume department covered Noah's arms was because they do not envision Will to be 'buff' with strong arms. And while headcanons are nice and all, it is kinda getting weird here when they're presented as canon to characters' designs/characterization/personalities. Mike's supposed to be the 'straight passing guy' here that is why he's never seen as the 'Gay Guy' and never faced actual homophobic bullying or abuse, he is portrayed as the 'masculine' character and is given those traits that define him....... but for some reason Mike is the one who is headcanoned as the 'gnc' and 'most queercoded' character here in this fandom lmao
#real. you can't even talk about it without people jumping down your throat with "oh, so you think i'm a terrible person because of my headcanons? you hate me personally? you think i should kill myself because of my headcanons even though your post wasn't about me or anyone's headcanons at all?" like, no, i just think you should stop making a fool of yourself putting words in other people's mouths and acting like a defensive victim when ain't nobody saying shit about you personally. ✋🙄
will was called homophobic slurs and assumed to be gay because he didn't behave or apparently dress like other boys did. he isn't like other people and that's okay. there's no shame in that. it isn't a bad thing, and yet so many people jump to "defend" him and make him into the kind of son lonnie would've loved to have, but that he ultimately just fucking isn't and never will be. the words that i put in quotation marks in my other post are THE DUFFERS' words. the person who said that they chose to lean away from noah's musculature was the COSTUME DESIGNER. i'd like to think that they know more about who will is than people online who would rather throw away entire seasons worth of scenes that clearly dispute their claims.
and i'm not talking about headcanons when i say this. i'm talking about people who genuinely believe their fanon interpretations, which are really just a role reversal if we're being completely honest with one another, to be true to canon.
not even robin faces on-screen homophobic vitriol from other characters, because she purposely "camouflages" herself better and that's how she survives. will does precisely what she says you can't do as a gay person in hawkins: draws too much attention, and thus makes himself a freak.
the irony of will is that even though he's good at hiding, this is something that he can't hide—something that others knew and vilified him for likely before he even knew himself. he never got to pass. his only choices were to survive and learn to find love and acceptance where he could.
this is already so long, but the differences between mike and will are the crux of their characters.
will has always been visibly different with no way of hiding it, even if he still desperately tries to, but he had a family that loved him and encouraged him to be himself no matter what. mike was fashioned to be the stereotypical eighties movie lead, was raised in a family where he was expected and hounded to be as normal as can be, and who is described as wanting to impress others and be as normal as possible.
will gets bullied for being a fairy and later a freak with issues after having come back to life. mike gets bullied for being a nerd, a "hellion", and a satanist. they have different issues, because they're different people.
will needs to learn that he can't hide from the world and call it a life, that he has to be brave and create a life that he can actually participate in and where he can allow himself to be loved for who he truly is. he tore down castle byers because he outgrew it. he needs to learn to live in this world and not the one he escapes to in his head. he needs to learn to allow himself to love and be loved, to be selfish, to be brave.
mike needs to learn that it's okay to be different. that conforming will not bring you peace, because that acceptance is no true acceptance—it's conditional, and you will never find any happiness or fulfillment in creating a farce of your own life. that he can have everything—money, material items, a girlfriend—and it won't be enough, because it isn't what he wants or comes natural to him. that he can't hold himself to society's rules for what a man should be, because society's rules fucking suck and they'll kill you either literally or spiritually. he's always celebrating everyone else's differences, defending them, and making others feel better for them, but he can't do the same with himself. he's the heart, but he needs to learn to listen to his own heart, too.
like. men in real life get called gay if they don't behave in a way that society deems to be masculine enough. men in real life get called gay if they're too nice or they dress a certain way. this is fucking real. traits, behaviors, interests, and material items are not inherently gendered, but we live in a society that suggests they are, and not sticking to what is "allowed" for your gender does come with consequences. that's just the way that the world works. i don't know why anyone pretends like that isn't so. things are better in certain places in the world, but we're not living in a utopia. be real.
but even then. that doesn't even totally matter, because we're just talking about the text here. will is the one that's faced all of that shit explicitly. the only time we've ever heard anyone say gay, or anything gay related, has been with him. mike defended him, yes, but those words were not about him.
mike defended will at cost of his own already pitiful social standing, because he's a good person and a wonderful friend. he couldn't stand to hear someone saying such vile things about someone that didn't deserve it and who was presumed to be literally fucking dead. mike was furious, hurt, and unable to stay quiet, because he couldn't tolerate the fact that will had gotten a shitty lot both in life and in his perceived death. that not even tragedy could make people be decent towards him. mike has always been willing to fight all sorts of monsters for all of his friends, whether they be fictional, from another dimension, or humans just like him. that's just who he is.
but that doesn't mean that mike received similar treatment as will did. troy doesn't ONLY look at mike when he says all of the many homophobic shit that he says, nor is mike's the only reaction that we see. and mike having long hair isn't a crazy thing, because a lot of men in that era had long hair. the artists that he and eddie presumably listen to are known for it, even. no one makes fun of his clothes or calls him a fairy.
like. i could continue on this tangent, but the fact that mike gets bullied for being a satanical nerd does influence how he interacts with his own sexuality. we saw it in how he spoke about women in season three. we saw it in the rain fight. we saw it in how he acted with el. we saw it in the rink-o-mania fight. we saw it in how he reacts to the truth and his inability to speak his own. will struggles to live in this world as he is, and mike struggles to be someone that he isn't. his ability to "camouflage" and "fly under the radar" like robin does affects his character just as much as will's hyper-visibility does.
have all the headcanons you want, but textual analysis should actually be... oh, i don't know... based on the text of the show? and secondary sources, such as things that the duffers themselves have said about it? i don't understand what the issue is. i don't understand what's not clicking even years later.

i am so glad that its not just me who went "hans landa has some homofag shit going on"
because see you all know im constantly on that yaoi cocaine so i thought it was just me being average anime fan again but HANS LANDA FROM INGLORIOUS BASTERDS IS A HOMOSEXUAL! what tipped me off personally is the fact that the entire movie hes incredibly confident and suave and never stumbles in his speech. his actor is purposeful with what he does and the only time he stumbles is when hes doing his monologue to rainer to propose a deal and says the name "hermann". I hadnt heard his voice falter or stumble in the slightest for the entire movie it really stuck out to me. And whats more is when hermann is shot that is the only time in the entire movie that Landa expresses any degree of genuine shock and weakness. Now this can be written off as him realizing that Rainer is not making good on their deal, but the thing is that he says "I made a deal with you gentlemen for that mans life". It's a very strange thing to say, since I think that Landas selfishness and ability to turn a blind eye to others suffering by accepting things because theyre not happening to him it is a key component to his character. Landa is not the type of man who would say that he made a deal for another's life in this situation. if he was only shocked about the deal being broken, he would just say that theyre breaking the deal, but not say a line that suggests that he thinks that the deal was more for hermanns life than his own. A thing that my bro (LMV) pointed out also is that in the beginning Landa says that he knows what people can do once they abandon their dignity. This is of course meant to be taken by the farmer as him being very knowledgable with the places that Jewish people could be hiding, but in the context of him being gay this gets a greater meaning since it creates a double meaning where he also is admitting that he understands because hes a "rat" himself. Landas character is a whole 'nother enchilada, but to boil it down he is an incredibly selfish man. He's not a monster with no critical thought and only vile hatred towards Jews fueling his engines; hes a human and a monster by choice. I think that theres a common misconception that showing the humanity in a horrible person = symapthy for that person because to me I think it only makes them more terrible in my eyes. Landa is a human just like us and couldve done the right thing, but he still chose the wrong thing to do. He could've pulled a hugo and done all he could to kill the nazis around him or sacrifice his life to not be apart of the evil regime or literally anything except what he chose to do, which was undoubtedly the worst option possible; become fucking colonel nazi. when i watch a supernatural horror movie I often cant bring myself to fully hate the demon because it feels like hating a tornado. Yeah i hate it destroyed my house and im scared of it but i cant really hate it since what did I expect its a tornade it was born to do that lol it cant really do anything else. but Landa doesn't get this pass and recieves my full unadulterated hatred. He isnt a monster with no critical thought who was born with no other drive than to kill and slaughter, he's a man just like all of us who actively choses evil because he's selfish and vile. Yes, he has motives. yes, it wouldve been much harder to do the right thing. but at the end of the day he still chose the wrong thing to do. and to me that makes him so so much more incredibly sickening because he couldve done good, but he simply continues to choose evil everyday because thats easier and more advantageous to himself than doing whats right. And in essence it would be incredibly in character of him to be a "rat" who acts as a "hawk" because he was born in a hawks nest, might as well play the part and stay within it. He is mentioned as a womanizer a few times, but I personally believe that Landa would create this rumor himself to put away any and all suspicion of him being gay, since I think thats the natural first thing someone would do if they were gay and trying to hide it.
He's a master of manipulation and words, so of course he's going to be able to keep the rumor solid with no leaks.
I just think that Landa definately was homofag for Hermann and personally like the movie a lot more with that in mind. Because not only does it add more meaning to his words and give you even more insight into his motivations and ideas and character (especially with the thought that he knows how it feels to be hunted. so instead of helping those who are being hunted he becomes a hunter himself) but also it makes the ending so much more satisfying. because personally I agree with literally everything Rainer says like I dont care i think all nazis should die and be tortured with no mercy they chose this fate when they chose to be a nazi. They have motivations for why, but we all have motivations for why we do the things we do. the right thing is almost always harder to do than the wrong thing and the matter of fact is that they chose to be a nazi instead of anything else in the world so they deserve no mercy. ngl im so glad rainer carved the swatstika on Landas head because I was going to throw a fit if Landa deadass just got off scott free. And i think it's actually a fitting substitute punishment to death too since Landa has to spend the rest of his days with a permanent reminder to everyone that he's a horrible person and suffer the consequences that come with being a horrible person (everyone hates him and hopefully punches nazis everyday SO TRUE!!!!). And i think if hermann was his lover thatd make his punishment even better. Since he had to witness the love of his life be shot before him and live the rest of his life knowing that he caused his lovers demise. His plan caused the only person in the world he loved more than himself to be killed and scalped and he just has to live with that forever now. its sooo much better i think that kind of torture is soooooooooo deserved tbh to me itd be a fate worse than death because id look at my hands and think to myself "i did all of this to make sure wed live together. and i still failed. what was this all for?". its so fucking well deserved ITS SO RIGHTEOUS!!! EVERY HORRIBLE THING LANDA DID WAS FOR FUCKING NOTHING BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY HERMANN STILL DIED! HIS RANK AND ACOMPLISHMENTS AND SINS MEAN NOTHING BECAUSE IT DIDNT PROTECT HIM-- IF ANYTHING IT CAUSED HERMANN TO DIE FROM A FIREY BULLET OF JUSTICE! AAUAGWHWH YES..... YES....!!!! I LOVE WELL DESERVED TORTURE. EAT SHIT AND DIE LANDA LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!! okay i need to stop myself before i get a little too into it. but yeah i think landa deserves a fate worse than death and i believe hermann being his lover solidifies that he does get that (THANK GOD)
anyways guys i really liked inglorious basterds its even better with yaoi cocaine please have a whiff before you watch for the best experience 😍

HEADCANNON — Do you see Killer as an TransMasc dude?
I mean… he may or may not have top surgery scars, which I’ll explain later, but what he actuall was before the pre-timeskip?
He was a man, who definitely was on T-shots not even half a year. Having a binder crushing his chest, moving fast — but hardly breathing, no wonder why his voice was rather deep. He tried to hide the fact that he hardly got any air during the fights or such.
The slimness during the Sabaody Arc, no facial hair, fast movements… that’s the second when my brain automatically shoved the thought of him being a part of the LGBTQ. Just look at this dude two years later:
He grew out his thick hair, took care of it. Jaw and chin covered in his golden goatee, while his body grew at least thrice as wide as two years before. Man… I know for sure that during those years he was high on his Testosterone level.
But the best part comes along with the explanation of the top surgery marks he might hide underneath his t-shirt. I believe that during the long time of waiting until the Kid Pirates come back to screen, Killer and his crew recently has visited the Revolutionary Army on their way to Wano.
And who’s the most queer diva in there? Of course it’s them — Ivankov.
The one who actually said: “Boy, you seem uncomfortable while moving. Do you perhaps need some help with gender dysphoria, hun’?”
Then the change happened, the scars lasted, but the short and painful process of his body turning fully male was worth it. Feeling like himself encouraged him to train more and gain weight, muscles, and all possible benefits.
So… if you ever read it, I really want to know your opinion about this. It’s not common to see a male-blog only, which I appreciate truly.
— Cheers, Musashi.
Okay I love this ask and I love you now and we two gonna be best friends okay?
And yes now I'm a only male blog and I genuinely love talking with more male authors we need to have a strong community
So here all my opinion about this
Like Sanji is a gay coded character for me, Killer is also one, and in the two examples I'm sure Oda didn't do it on purpose but he did a pretty good job
For me Killer has a lot of coded trans signals that make me feel he genuinely would be a perfect trans character, so here what I feel more
First his name, even one piece has some "weird" names, Killer looks more a name that someone would give to himself, not a weird normal name in one piece that someone would be born with
Since we don't know too much about the childhood of the kid pirates, it is hard to be sure, but I think it is obvious that killer chose his own name. If it is for the reason he is trans or not doesn't really matter, everyone can think whatever they want
Also the mask, we know that killer is far from being ugly but he always had the mask after he grew up a little, and I think that was pure insecure about his face. I think in the start before the T and those things people didn't take him seriously because his face wasn't really masculine or scary, and to try fight against that he started using the mask, also because that would help him having a more strong voice, since the mask would muffle his voice
Kid protection, I think is more than perfect their bond, and is obviously that Killer trusts in Kid his own life and soul. And for me this is the perfect way to show that Kid is a true ally to his friends transition, when they meet again in the prison he even asks to killer "where are your mask?" Because he knows his friend would never be without that
Not only that, he genuinely killed everyone that laughed about Killer no matter why they are laughing, that for me is perfect to show how Kid grows up seeing Killer suffering from intolerant people and becomes aggressive in a way to protect him
But I'm not sure about Iva, I don't think the Revolutionary Army would risk being close to Kid because he had one of the worst reputations between the pirates. And even if they would have a change the Kid owes a favor to them I don't think it would be a good choice, because they couldn't know if Kid would be pacific enough or not
And what we know for now is that the Revolutionary Army don't really have bonds with pirates exactly because they are impressive and dangerous
So I think that Killer got such a big man because of... Drugs
Yeah no joking
The crew would definitely get T enough for Killer besides I think they would have this in a constant way, what can explain why he takes two years to be that big
But I also think he used some anabolic steroids, or anything like that but in the one piece universe. I don't think they would be really hard to get and they probably are not safe, but they probably work better than the ones we have in the real world.
So if I could say the reason why killer got big is this one, Kid probably got some suspicious drugs and Killer used and there we are. We already know those dudes don't give a shit about risking their life and they are like "worthy to try"
Also I can see Law helping Killer with some surgery, but then Kid finds out that Law is also a captain and he gets mad because they get help from an enemy, and he is not blaming Killer but blaming Law and Law is just "wtf I literally help you?"
But yeah
Thanks for that, I love having someone to talk about this hahahha

Please god tell me your blog is satire. You can't possibly, honestly, truly think a company would go so far as to literally make a baby just to pretend two of their clients aren't dating.
I'm a Larry shipper, but you know bisexual people exist, right? Hook ups and flings and broken condoms and drunk mistakes all happen. If Louis has a kid, has an honest to god son, that doesn't in any way ruin Larry, Louis or Harry.
"Why has nobody considered that they hired a sperm donor to make a baby that looks like Louis."
Because that is literally fucking insane and so wildly unethical. Louis having a son was handled so poorly, I honestly agree. Weirdly photoshopped pictures, alternating between wanting to push the narrative of Louis being a doting father and trying to bury Freddie's existence, whatever.
But the 1D decoys were literally because the boys were being mobbed the moment they stepped outside of a building. Fans broke into buildings to get at them. Fans hacked security cameras to get at them. They had to hide in decoy vehicles and supply boxes. Decoys are still nothing new or outdated today; multiple celebrities have admitted to hiring them in order to be able to travel in peace.
Honestly, I hope one day you show Louis all the absolutely batshit disgusting crap you're posting and he smacks you into place. Suggesting this movie-esque conspiracy where a company is so anti-gay they literally hired someone to make a living, breathing child just to pretend someone is straight?
Get fucked.
I contemplated answering this ask because it's so hostile and rude, but here goes nothing.
1. These things do happen, and here is the evidence:
If you believe Larry is real and that Louis's and Harry's girlfriends have all been beards, why is this also hard to believe? Like I just said, we now have evidence of this kind of thing actually happening. Look at how much money Harry makes and how much he appeals to women. Any ties to the "big Larry conspiracy" that's been so widespread even outside of fandom for the last 13 years are in the way.
2. Louis having a baby with someone else does ruin Larry. Harry was visibly upset over it, and Louis knew Harry wanted kids with him. I have a good question for you that I genuinely would appreciate an answer to: Why would you still support this relationship if you believe that Louis had an entire child with someone else and Harry was upset about it? Why would you not "take Harry's side" in this situation and stop being a fan of Louis, especially if you listened to the song Kiwi and saw Harry's tears at the GMA interview where Louis confirmed his fatherhood? Because that's what I did when I, for a brief period of time, believed in Louis's paternity.
3. If you understand that the narrative is trying to reinforce that Louis is a doting father when the reality is that he's fairly absent in F's life, do you not see something wrong with that? Do you not see something wrong with the fact that Elounor, the fakest beard relationship of all time, had their break-up announcement exactly one month before F was conceived? That doesn't strike you as odd?
4. Actually, I talked to one of the 1D security members, and he denied that the article was true. So, no, they did not hire decoys for the purpose of protecting the boys.
Proof:
(If you disbelieve in these screenshots, ask me to record it on camera with a separate phone and I will; that way, it won't be possible that I faked it)
Therefore, we have two possibilities. Either the articles were completely fabricated, or the articles were sent out by 1D's management without the security's knowledge as a casting call, and the whole security story was made up. I cannot prove which option is true. So, I am not saying the lookalike sperm donor theory is true. I am merely putting forth the theory with supporting evidence, because it could be true.

hannigram x eijouji au
okay back onto eijouji-hannigram dynamics i think the main difficulty here in describing their relationship would be the fact that they have completely different themes and relationship. hannibal and will corrupted each other in a way that was completely hedonistic, and for hannibal he was selfish, and completely changed each other. tdlr: unhealthy. it was understanding each other like nobody else could because their relationship was an almalgamation of each other: they melded into one another. they couldn't remain individuals - in a way they become one. very much so. especially with will already having problems with hyperempathy, and hannibal purposefully triggering those issues, it was purposeful in trying to bond to each other in any way possible. kind of like desperation - or i guess in my mind, more akin to a test. he was testing will. but either way it wasn't normal, it wasn't natural, and it wasn't .. right. it was artificial. more akin to putting superglue on your hand and then holding someone elses hand and it's like Well at least i didn't turn us into human centipede 3. basically it was forced. whereas eijouij Well they still have issues. i don't think i really know their characters too well just for the sake of not necessarily knowing them too well but i think one of their main conflicts is the fact that they both avoid Well. They both avoid conflict /lh very much so. they are very avoidant in my head. they're kind of doomed yaoi in my head but not in a tragic way kind of like self-imposed. so kind of tragicbut like not narratively in my mind because the narratives that they're gay as hell but rather by themselves. basically, go to couples therapy. No. anyway but i think a lot of it comes out of
obviously, insecurity.
a sense of fear (ie., i am going to hurt this person if i interact with them/they will hurt me if i talk to them)
and 3. their own instinct to, seemingly, avoid their own desires.
i think eiji puts up a front of being more selfish than they really are? i think a lot of it is just a facade. genuinely. because when given an actual, true wish - whether it be companionship, a queerplatonic relationship, etc. - they don't take it. they don't. they push it away. they try to find some sort of reason to push it away or find an excuse to not take the opportunity. HERE'S THE THING THOUGH. i think people tend to conflate this behaviour with self-sacrifice or it being self-sacrificial, and in a way that it is, but i think the motive behind eiji doing this isn't particularly... that. i think it's fear. i think it is very much avoidance of hurt.
eiji's main thing to me is that they are Where was i going with this. OH. and this isn't necessarily cowardice either i think it is genuinely just eiji's way of protecting themselves. eiji is ... in my mind he can be a bit haughty in a way. they prance, they hold themselves tall, and most importantly they are constantly, constantly bluffing. eiji puts on a show, not because he likes to entertain (even if that may be a reason) or because they like the attention (even if that is a component), but because he is afraid if he doesn't they will pierce through that thinly spread out veil that hides him from scrutiny. this 'mask' is easily shattered, it hides him from the criticism he receives. it's not truly him, it's an act. it's not truly him that they talk about, because that's not him. they don't know him - not *really.*
though the issue with this here is that i think that you've mentioned components of eiji that haven't exactly come to light juuust yet as the rpg hasn't started + the main interactions so far have just been variations of yaoi trio (i think?) which are just people that eiji likes. so those more .. not necessarily 'baser' but more 'guttural' reactions have yet to come out. i don't think eiji is the type of person that bites the hand that feeds. kind to him, kind to you. well maybe not always but their actions are not necessarily malicious to people who he's emotionally attached to? i think? >/? ? ?? ? ? ? ??
whereas with jouji Actually i haven't tohught that much about jouji. jouji who is in my brain. actually i can do something with this.
jouji is a bit of a blank slate in my mind. a bit of an impenetrable wall. can't get in, can't get out. they're a bit ... emotionally repressed i think. /lh they got issues, man! i don't think that they're a misanthropist, even if they hold some distaste to their peers? if that's what it is. i'm not really sure i don't think i have too good of a grasp on jouji, so i can't necessarily tell if what they feel is dislike, disconnection, or genuine annoyance and irritation towards the people around them. or if it's apathy. i think it's a bit more disconnection/apathy for them though.
and i think this kind of comes with their job - i think to work with the dead is a sensitive issue, it has to come with respect - it *has* to, but i also think that you have to compartmentalize a lot to do maintain graves, to maintain the dead. i think they care .. even if it isn't that much, or if they even can. in my head jouji has some empathy issues (autism). and it also doesn't help that (I'M NOT sure if this was on sydney's end as well or if the creation of angelics was directly tied to my own interpretation) that they're an angelic. there is a standard set in stone for them, as angelics as a while, it is directly tied to their being. there are rules, unspoken rules, that you do not harm your neighbour; you don't kill, you don't harm, you don't hurt. you must be moral, because that is your being. if you don't, you ruin who you are. you ruin your 'purity,' and it's shown to the world. actually the idea of angelics is actually kind of interesting with presentation and how society approaches the 'sins' of angelics - if they really are *sins.* i'll talk about this later because i think the way society interprets this group of people is fun & how people interpret other groups of people, and how they classify them, and blah blah blah sociology is interesting to me. this is kind of getting irrelevant to jouji character study.
*buuut,* to me jouji has firm rules and guidelines set in place for them. they have a moral code. they kind of fit into this ideal of an angelic because when you break it down, what angelics do and what their fundamentals are seen in their society, is that they are supposed to be harbingers of morality. that's why they are 'punished' by broken halos, black wings. it is a sign that they have hurt, and it is kind of punishment in a way - it permanently alters them. it changes them as a person, fundamentally. they lose a sense of autonomy in that regard? they don't *get* a choice as to whether or not their crimes are shown to world. whereas every other species has the choice of wearing it on their sleeves, angelics *don't.* i think there is some symbolism here that i can touch on but that is a little unimportant. especially with the idea of being 'broken,' being 'blackened' – it can be seen as 'going against their nature,' being punished for it. i think i already kind of touched on that aspect though. This is so interesting ik i said i was going to make a different thing for this but i'm so curious what the societal image and reputation of angelic sinners are. it's so so cool to me.. ANYEWAY BACK ONTO JOUJI.
jouji focuses very heavily on this creed that they've made up. i think it was done as a joke a few times but * BEAMS * i am the crazy bitch that reads into every last detail i don't care that it isn't relevant to the story **ITS FORESHADOWING TO ME.** jouij focuses heavily on their creed, their rules, their code of conduct. when something doesn't fit into those predetermined rules, they don't .. exactly know how to respond. they are incredibly, incredibly avoidant to acting on 'sin' or what they consider sin to the point of ruminating on it a lot. that trifecta of going by the book, avoidance of the unknown, and a fear of sin is what i think leads them to their isolationist behaviour.
which also leads into their job as a sexton. you don't really have to interact with people and when you do,. Well. They're in a coffin. and with a job kind of steeped in grief (and depending on how the person died, steeped in sin) there is bound to be some stigma with the job because who would *willingly* do this? why would you *want* to surround your suffering? i think it depends on the viewpoint but considering we live in a medieval, japanese-inspired (and therefore) fantasy world i think it would make sense that considering jouji Would be a part of the untouchable class (i think?) there's going to be a correlation with their role in sending people to the afterlife and people finding being hostile towards jouji, even if it isn't necessarily reciprocated. especially since it's easy to get upset with people when there's grief. it's the easiest thing *to* do. i'm not sure if this is what you were going for this is just in my * raps on my skull * up in me noggin.
and also on a more meta level: *jouji is more isolated from society than most other characters* whereas a lot of the ocs in ukishima have some form, or relation to people, their bond to the rest of society only comes after you're dead. like their role in your life comes after you've croaked. they are intrinsically tied to the dead.
and then going back to my original point of eijouji: these twos relationship with each other is bound to be strained just because of how each of them views the world & how they go about living in the world. as a tdlr for both of these two, both of them are avoidant in their own ways.
jouji is more apathetic, dismissive, and generally *retreats* from society.
eiji is more cynical (in my mind, they can be cruel and mean - i think you've said this IF YOU RETCONNED THIS IGNORE ME. but with taunting and the like i think), haughty and where jouji steps backwards, they push *forward.* they will be forceful to put himself in a position where *he will not be hurt.*
every time eiji takes a step forward, jouji walks backwards. it's like they are constantly walking towards the end of the line, or rather, they're treading it. then, i think, when jouji finally makes an effort to begin walking towards eiji it's like he can sense that dynamic shift and that *fear* of getting hurt, that fear of the unknown variables, and eiji doesn't just start walking back he runs away. he flees. i think. in my head * raps on my knoggin and does a jig *

Was thinking about fuckable old men, and had some thoughts about mentor figures in stories. Often with a wise mentor/guide, people will either complain about how boringly perfect they are, or be weirdly resentful of any flaws. Even more so if the character is initially presented as very wise, only to later show any flaws (thinking of like Rose Quartz and idk. Dumbledore). It's weirdly common for people to go on about how boring and perfect a mentor is, and then freak out that they're not perfect and instead just a person.
It's like. It seems like a very childish response to me, and whenever I see that kind of behavior from older people, it just screams "I have mommy/daddy issues". Idk where I'm going with this, but you're the #1 fucker of old and pathetic characters so, thoughts?
Tangent: I think I'm like the only person who liked Dumbledore being gay and thought it was believable. Usually, if a narrative introduces an older male and female pair (Dumbledore and McGonagall, from the literal page 1) it's with the intent of eventually setting them up.
Otherwise, if there's no implicit romantic match for a mentor character it's because a similar-age women literally does not exist (Obi-Wan Kenobi pre-TCW)--or because they're so narratively isolated it would be impractical, typically by their imminent death (Yoda). Batman's Alfred has Leslie Thompson to play off of, frex. Dumbledore having no vague chemistry with Minerva whatsoever was noticeable, even way back before the announcement. His fondness for flamboyant fashion is also, in retrospect, classic gay coding. I fully believe that JKR purposely set that up and didn't just go "uhhh yeah Hogwarts was SUPER diverse" after the fact.
(She did do that with a bunch of other things, to be clear, just not gay Dumbledore.)
(As a tangent to a tangent, we can safely blame Wertham's Seduction of the Innocent for all characters ever having a bad case of the not-gays. It all comes back to comics every time!)
Anyway! Real answer!
Yes, I agree that people tend to get a bad case of projection when it comes to older characters. It happens to characters in any form of fiction that features a relatable everyman protag, but older mentor characters seem to get it extra bad.
I think some of it comes from mentor characters typically being presented as entirely supportive figures; they don't get the same narrative real estate--the same opportunity for character growth-- that, say, the rival gets. A mentor's job is to Be Good And Support MC, not have a character arc. Thus, the particular sense of betrayal the audience has when the mentor character has slightly different goals than the protagonist.
And I do mean "slightly different" goals--to use OT Obi-Wan as an example again, think of how angry people get at him hiding that Anakin was Vader. People get angrier than Luke did in the actual canon discussion the characters have about it! Luke and Obi-Wan align in 99.5% of their goals--the only difference is that Obi-Wan feels that Luke has to accept the reality that he may have to kill Vader.
This is a viewpoint that makes perfect sense for his character. Even before the prequels added the backstory that put Obi-Wan in the same position as Luke, where he could have killed him but chose not to deal a finishing blow, it's...not actually all that strange to keep the sordid details of a parent's past from a kid. Kids want to love their parents. Kids don't want to hear, "hey, your dad tried to kill you!" and they certainly don't want to hear that at a formative, tender age.
You can argue the technical logistics of Force connections and whether Luke was more or less at-risk with his knowledge of Vader, but I genuinely believe that the intended real-world parallel was this situation ("I want to let the kid believe he had a good father") rather than...some of the more extreme interpretations I've seen.
Because people hate this lie. In spite of it being a perfectly logical choice for Obi-Wan's character, they hate him for it and rail against him for "stealing Anakin's children." I've seen fics/headcanons/'metas' that go "Obi-Wan had to have been planning on setting him off like a school shooter in 20 years" or "Obi-Wan was planning to use him as a guided missile from the beginning" and...that's just way harder for me to buy than "he couldn't tell this kid who wanted to love his father than Anakin tried to kill him."
tl;dr mentor characters typically don't get character arcs and so people feel betrayed when they have visible needs and desires outside of validating the protagonist.

who is ~queer~ on BMW?
it’s so funny bc we know from that one writer who commented on someone’s post once and the crazy coryshawn stan that PMed a writer on fb (did i make the second part up or does anyone else remember that from like 2015), that there was a want to have intentional queer rep in the writers room. so if we go by that, here’s what i think
shawn doesn’t identify as anything, he doesn’t label himself. but he definitely likes all genders and feels kinship to all genders. i have SO much more to say on the topic of queer shawn, if anyone wants my thoughts on that pls ask!
cory is gay. the fact that the show wasn’t written to purposely identify cory as a gay man is absolutely insane, bc this is actually a show but a gay man living in a heteronormative world.
i think early seasons topanga is a lesbian, but unfortunately by s7 topanga lost almost all likability and compassion that drew audiences to her in the first place. so i do think that by the end of the series, topanga is like JARRINGLY heterosexual.
rachel is a lesbian and when she joins the peace corps she meets a butch lesbian who changes her life. they now run a gay bar together
angela is bi and i def think that she and rachel have fooled around. the reason angela was so comfortable in cory and shawn’s relationship is bc she was already educated on queerness, and was confident in her own sexuality
i think eric is like the definition of a bi himbo. i rly go back and forth on jack and eric’s sexualities, but i do think that the scene in s4 where eric is talking to cory about first times screams bi!eric. i’m a shawn/cory shipper and to me that is THE relationship of the show and the fact that ppl like jack/eric over them is weird to me lol and i think the writers put a lot of the overt queerness of shawn/cory into jack/eric bc the cory/topanga debate had won. yes i do think jack/eric is endgame (at least to me), but in my world i don’t think that anything happened until rachel realized that she was a lesbian and that led into jack having his own gay panic while eric was kind of just like “dudes are hot, you’re hot. and?”
idk why there is a giant skip between here and the last paragraph, but i’ve done a lot of thinking about this and i think that jack is gay. i don’t think it’s something he realizes until later in life, but unlike cory, who knows he likes men and is trying to hide the fact, jack doesn’t realize it. he genuinely likes women, but after coming home he comes to the realization that he only wants to be with men, and maybe the attraction to women wasn’t always there, even if the love was. so yeah, jack/eric bfs
morgan is a lesbian we know literally nothing ab morgan but #tome she has always been an icon for the lesbians

full spoilers for s2 under the cut so don't perceive if you haven't watched but-
i spent the first half of the season thinking 'if i just don't think about it in terms of the books, but as it's own stand-alone thing it's fine, right? im being nitpicky about it because i want what i already know, right?' god i really wish that was the case. there were things about it that i really liked, and things that made absolutely no sense, and things that just felt insulting to watch with my own two eyes.
unfortunately, right now i can't think about what i did like because im just so disappointed lmao, so what i hated:
everything, absolutely everything, felt rushed. they didn't give you a second to breathe before throwing in the next plotline. what do you mean the pekka rollins plotline was fixed in 3 and a half episodes when that was supposed to be kaz's big bad to overcome? the fun moments between alina and mal where they feel like they're believably, fully in love? never heard of them. who is the suffocating feeling of mal being trapped in a palace watching the girl he loves pass him by? i heard of her but i never saw her!!
it escaped my view the first few times it happened but it genuinely felt like they threw in book quotes blindly just for fan service in places where they didn't fit, and in turn we lost all meaning of what the quotes are supposed to mean. it happened more times than i can actually look back and find a specific one, but specifically, mal's lines declaring his love for alina just felt... god, flat? forced? i'll get into that more later.
we got to see more of zemini and shu han cultures, and that was great for the few seconds it lasted... but why were our actual shu han characters reduced to mere two-dimensional characters? what was the point of making tolya's love for poetry nothing more than a gag for laughs? tamar was missing for so long in the trilogy sequence that i entirely forgot she was with nikolai and the gang and couldn't remember if she'd gone with the crows or not. her and nadia's romance? if you can even call it that. these were supposed to be integral characters to the og trilogy and they were so completely absent that they might as well have not been cast.
david. i'm not saying anything else. just. david?
jesper's trauma over hiding who he is is solved by a hallucination sequence and his mom saying it's okay, following a short conversation with a saint who didn't even get an ounce of his life story, and just immediately rushing into 'being grusha'. like, damn. i need me therapy that effective.
speaking of jesper, please dear god that wesper felt entirely like fanservice and bait and not at all the vibes of the book version of what they are and? also felt like a slap in the face considering the lack of tamar and nadia content we received. once again, just say you hate lesbians and like to use gay men to sell.
this list could really go on forever.
no because i'm mad about the disrespect put on tamar and nadia's names and it felt like tolya was purposely given more screentime with the crows while the only lesbian rep was left out of the process altogether.
the mal specific issues, which we all knew were coming.
i didn't hate the ending of his arc/beginning of his new adventure. in fact, it felt like a necessary step toward who he is as a person and giving him that choice felt like understanding his character. but it felt like understanding book mal, not at all the show's boy we see who would just choose alina over and over again. we were robbed of seeing mal at his most comfortable on the ship to novyi zem, about how naturally he fits in around people and how trapped and stifled he was in palace life. in rushing everything, we weren't given characterization that is integral to understanding who mal is. what drives him, what he was giving up. what he gained by getting that choice in the end.
just slap me across the face with a brick that says 'mal is the amplifier.' really, it would have been more subtle than everything the show did. i know a lot of people complained about how it came out of nowhere in the books but, really? there was no suspense, no crushing realization when baghra reveals it. even if you didn't know, you would have known well before that.
i still don't get why the mal/zoya stuff was removed. explain that to me. why could this man not have a relationship with someone that wasn't alina? and what was so wrong about letting him be flawed like he was throughout s&s?
i hate to say it but it felt like malina just wasn't the vibe here. with the quick pacing of everything, these two didn't get to have any actual intimate moments that weren't forced to include book quotes, and maybe there was a reason for that. but why give us s1 malina if you were just gonna disappoint like that? i genuinely don't get it.
there's still so much i think about it but it's making me more upset so i'll leave it here for now but GOD.
tl;dr the lack of tamadia was purposeful homophobia, the pacing wasn't it, and i think i'm entitled to financial compensation for what i just experienced.
