twas a plenty of merry met and merry left as Mabil stuck her hoof out from behind her dress. briefly dipping it into thy cold hard ground of thy grand library. nestling into thee own book with a jostle flick of thy wrist. thy hands holding onto thy page with as much forsought as thy needed.
thou scrambled to speak, " thee speak in mysterious wonderment , truthfully , as if thy teachings hold true. " thy did not doubt. thee seemed a teacher , or mentor of sorts. thou keeping in rhythm with own merry heart , " thine company lay in thy family , and thy hearth. " thou had yet to learn of any other way.
" doth thou speak of family often ? " Mayheps thee felt embarrassment of lack of story. planted in thine loving trusses upon thine head , and thy horns that curled so. human , and creature alike avoiding thou such as thee. though gluing thineself to sister like silvers to men's pockets.
Tumblr media
" thy learn with grace , and speed! " thou pressed into a laughter - one with melodious charm. only thineself not seeing it as such , " a turtle's race could not come quicker! Yet , thou learn what books write about first , fair tutor! Fairy - tales upon thy thousands. " ahh - a stubborn student , but made of good intentions. mabil clasped thou book closed.
@streetgoats;
twas a spectacle of meek, and well trimmed goat hooves, and flowers kissing collarbones. yet twas not made for the sulphur that settled in thine head, and thy heart.
thy own words brought by thy swoon of foolish hearts that try to prey to desires of thy whims. thy own wonders only a bereavement to testify thy own lack of a loving dove to nestle on thy shoulders, and in thine heart.
thy words beheading thy very idea of a much need acquitted love , ” nay. thy words do not sway thy own swollen heart. thy is needed for trouble , and thy workings of hidden devils. “ she wasn’t shy enough to say it , so she added in slightly bewilderment , ” why doth thy know what love feels without thy sting of an angry heart ? “
thy own endearment comparable to a method of healing , or some vague reminder of thy shyness in all of us , ” thy only speak truths , yet thy find without agony , love is nothing. “ thy only understanding past lovers calls , yet mabil knew none.
” thy answer is clear .. nay , mayheps I know nought of thy lover’s callings , yet thy witness a plenty of tears thine leave behind on plush pillow. thy sister cry merrily for many , nay , thy merely a witness , yet thine see all. “ she cleared her throat , a slight blush upon pretty blonde locks, and thy prettier round face , ” it - it cannot be lover’s embrace that sooth all remedies. thy cannot imagine such greatness. “ thy was without a single tale of love , and adventure , yet already avoided where one could thy gentle reminder of a love that was not more than family.
And Roland’s handsome expression wrinkles within his audible bewilderment, as thus in cosmic swirls that Knowing of heartbreak, and that sympathetic purr of Knowing in that string of new Words. “Thou hast dabbled with unconscionable persons,“ murmurs he, and sighs hard in a flex of his strong breast.
"To speak is to uncover that fret of buzzing infinities; to Understand a misguided amount of too-quick speech and the littlest of the Language of the Body in flinching and too-hard slams of an olde creaking Door. To speak with one another, even if shouted and borne to hurt tears, is always Good and fine whence loved and loving of another. To communicate,” says he.
“‘Tis naught that Well of golden ambrosia to soothe all hurts,” confirms he, and bobs he his head into an agreeing nod. “But the World moves and the Underground is vibrant for that longing Sound of tonal Love, and the flowers bloom for that sweetness, and the birds call for entwining beaks. Dost I encourage thee to hath, at least, one vital, incalculable Adventure that wouldst weep thee to happy tears if thou art long of Life and vitality in similarity to mine own sapphire, sweet Being. 'Tis fun to find that companion, if thou art swift 'pon thy cloven hoof,” joys he, and bounces his brows in a happy thrice.
“As thus for learning that wholesomeness of the Universe, if thou art bed down to finality. Be flit! Be bound as oft as the buzzing bees in beauteous Summer!”

What I thought of TUA season 4
(Just my opinion pls no hate n if ppl wanna talk Abt it I would love to)
SPOILERS AHEAD
1. Victor FINALLY having it out on reggie
That was fucking amazing all those years of pent up exhaustion and aggression towards Reginald has finally come out and it was just beautiful to watch tbh
2. Ben and Jennifer
THIS HAD ME IM NGL I LOVED IT SO MUCH I love how through all the timelines there’s ALWAYS them, I was picking up on it throughout the season and it was just amazing, I loved that, I am a hopeless romantic so I was all there for it even tho it did destroy everything
3. Paralells
there were so many parallel’s throughout it from the previous seasons and just even the parallel of Jennifer knocking on the wall to Ben bro It just had me, I also love how the violin was still a theme throughout it through Abigail and the music during certain scenes, also having I think were alone now as the ending song was absolutely amazing although it was a different version/cover I loved that they used it in the first and last episode
4. PLOT TWISTS
BENS DEATH WAS CRAZY, had me and my best friend GASPING I’ve spent years theorising over how he died and I NEVER ONCE thought of Reginald being the case
ALSO ABIGAIL (reggies wife) ended up being on the opposite side which was insane. The way she also let lose on Reginald in the skin of gene was hilarious
5. Lila and Five
Just gonna say this first, I DIDNT LIKE IT. Even though as disgusting as it looks (due to fives body being younger) Lila and five makes sense as Lila said it was survival and they thought that they weren’t ever going to find a way back however five hiding the journal and way home from Lila just to have a relationship with her when she’s HIS BROTHERS WIFE is CRAZY I hate how they made him the bad guy in the end when it came to Lila and Diego and I did hate how they ruined Diego and Lila’s relationship for that :(
The fact they both genuinely fell in love tho is just crazy and tbh I never knew how to feel whenever it was on the screen however klaus, Allison and Luther were HILARIOUS at the confrontation scene.
6. TUA growing up!
Content of the kids FINALLY
IVE WAITING SO LONG FOR THERE TO BE MORE SCENES OF TUA AS KIDS ANS WE FINALLY GOT IT! I loved seeing them interact with each other and also showing that viktor wasn’t CONPLETELY alone growing up as he and Ben had a friendship, it also shows how klaus and Alison’s friendship has been deep rooted since they were young
7. Allison EATING
Allison was HORRIFIC in season 3 as we all know due to her crisis(?) but this season she was such a boss bitch and I actually lived for it icl the way she put reggie in his place and also helped klaus so much it was beautiful
8. The last episode!
The last episode was very Rick and Morty esq. but I loved it, it was so sad but so good and although it felt a bit rushed and I WISH they had more seasons coming they ended it off so well and with the 8 marigold flowers growing at the END END it was just beautiful and also kinda made me think like what if there is more? (Even tho there’s not :() also having all of the characters at the end such as the triplets from season 2, the commission workers, hazel and Agnes, the handler, grace, it was just all amazing and left me speechless
I actually can’t believe it over tho, they did so well with all of it and I love it so much.
Ofc this is all my opinion and I can’t wait to hear what other ppl think cuz honestly there’s so much to debrief and talk Abt it was also rly funny but honestly I loved it.

i will say there's a moment of almost self-awareness in being like 'wow it's really weird that the people involved in the show talk about daemond and rhaenyra as if there's something absolutely wuthering heights going on but the show has the conplete opposite with daemon showing utter contempt for her, and he would rather have her as a child to fuck'
that's not a case of the text and the people involved in creating that text diverging dramatically in meaning, but rather somebody who took the wrong train track and spent a year creating the brother lumiere feature lenght alternative universes in their head lol. like it or not, either is fine, but the idea that they have some shadow of a doubt shit going on thay goes both ways is an assumption to engage with the text and not a niche interpretation

You know, going over old Cockles vids. It’s interesting how they change over the years. In fact, Jensen and Misha, from 2009 to now have conpletely switched personalities. (As far as public behavior goes. Can’t say for private)
Misha used to be the chaotic one, while Jensen more timid and reserved.
Now, it’s the complete opposite.
Misha has grown VERY reserved, and Jensen’s become an absolute peacock 😂. Which I love but it’s also kinda sad to see Misha become less so. Granted, given the past few years, it makes sense but I sort of miss when Misha was less cautious, more carefree. Unpredictable.
That’s what makes JIB so important, cuz Misha seems way more comfortable onstage with Jensen and god-bless how affectionate and protective Jensen is towards him. 🥺
They’re relationship is literally the purest.

Honestly I've had this idea in my head for a while
An au where Sukea's not just an alias but an actual person. Maybe Kakashi's brother (a twin?) or cousin of some sort.
Sukea being Kakashi’s twin brother is probably my favorite head canon (mostly for au’s but still) because the trauma response is so different.
Sukea is light and friendly and so very cheerful. He loves interacting with people and proudly tells them about the things he has done. It’s the conplete opposite of Kakashi.
And of course some of these differences have been from birth. Kakashi was always a little more arrogant and could even sometimes be rude to his own brother. The two of them i think would clash a lit in their darkest time to a point where their bond almost snaps. Thankfully that’s when they realized they needed to take a step back and breath, perhaps prompting Sukea to leave Konoha (and oh how he sometimes pleads with his brother to do the same because he can see how Konoha is eating Kakashi alive)
But they have different experiences with their main trauma: Sakumo’s death.
Kakashi walked in to find his father’s lifeless body on the floor and then had to report it, likely aiming to get it done before Sukea got home so he could be saved walking into that
Sukea stayed out a bit later with friends to play. He was running around laughing having the time of his life. On his way home Kakashi caught him in the road and explained everything with such measured coldness that he didn’t know how to react. He was terrified of his brother at that moment because his heart was crumbling at the knowledge that his father was gone and his brother just stated it all as a fact without letting his mask break.
Growing up that deeply affected them and lead them towards what would become their personalities. Kakashi of course lossens up with age and learns to focus on the future instead of the past, but their personalities still differ vastly. The only personality trait they really share is their dorkyness.

Holy Spirit I Need You
TeensXcite 2015.02.21 Holy Spirit I Need You
Genesis 6:9-22 NIV
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.” Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
Hebrews 11:7 NIV
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.
Noah is known as the man of faith as he had acted upon the command of God. If anyone tells you that you are crazy for doing something for God, he or she is affirming you.
In order to be crazy for the Lord:
1) Defy the worldly norms.
Genesis 6:5-6 NIV
The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
Noah did not do evil at that time.
Genesis 6:9 NIV
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
He was the only blameless person on earth. Noah's pressure was great as for then, sin was the norm.
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
If Noah had conpromised, he would be a light that does not even shine, and shouldn't be called light. We are told to bring the church into the world, we cannot allow sin to reign in our lives. A lot of us cannot defy the worldly norms as we fear the opinions of man, rather than the opinion of God.
The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it is conformity.
We are called to defy the norms of people. We have to let out the fact that we are followers of Christ and live up to it.
2) Be determined to obey God.
Noah did everything that God had commanded him to.
Noah's obedience was:
a blind obedience. Noah built the ark despite never seeing rain before.
conplete obedience. He had done ALL that he was told to do.
a sustained obedience. His obedience had sustained 120 years of obedience. He did not see the rain nor the hint of flood but he simply continued to build the ark.
Obedience is best tested when we are required to pesevere. When you press on and pesevere, God will never ever fail you. We will have to pesevere on.
God doesn't call us to be comfortable, he calls us to trust in him completely.
John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commands.
What counts is the obedience that you show towards him. Whatever situations may come, you have to decide to obey God, and God alone. Be determined to obey God. If you choose to obey God, He will never fail you. God wanted Noah to fix his eyes on God. The Ark had no way of steering, because it was a set example of giving God the full trust on where we are going.

Id say Dark knight returns has a lot of advantages that Watchmen does not.
As you note, because it has already established characters, we dont need to be sold on Batman. We just need to know he was gone, and that is in large part why gotham has become even more shitty.
It also manages to keep itself centered around one, single, cronological story about the Dark Knight coming back as opposed to watchmen that jumped all over the place and across time.
Not to say i dont have my problems with DKR.
The damn talking heads isnt a bad concept, and did help set the moor, but their screentime should have been cut in half at some point at the very least, or better yet cut all together. They served their purpose, and yet remained way past their time.
Also the whole Two Face plot is in my opinion a rather nice one, but it has no freaking ending. Like what happened? Did bruce give up on him once and for all? Did he go to jail? Back to arkham? I would really have liked to know. Its a big and iconic part of the story, and yet we have no ending for it.
And then there is the whole nuke plot. Its... Weird. I actually kinda like the idea of america being at the mercy of the USSR's nuclear capabilities for a good long while, and yet the russians dont pull the trigger, because even when they could exterminate the western world(or america at least) they are at the day human beings. But we dont get to see them actually make the decision not to do that. Instead we are told, and the story just sorta moves on.
Also superman absorbing solar powers from flowers is freaking wild man.
And then there is batman shooting that guy to save the kid.
Its a scene im torn on for a whole number of reasons.
On one hand... I can kinda see the idea for this moment. Its basically the whole idea that morrison tried to do with batman shooting darkseid. Putting the man who hates guns more than anything in a position where he has to use a gun, or a child, his charge and protectorate will die.
Its a lot less over melodramatic than magical bullets and batman giving a melodramatic "once in a lifetime exception" speech beforehand, which makes it feel a lot more real.
But on the other hand, the scene doesnt manage to sell it. Neither in selling and making it clear the fact that the punk actually survived(which takes away the biggest issue with this a lot of people have with the scene), nor in having bruce have a moment where he actually takes in what just happened.
Batman beyond episode 1 had this exact scene, and though it handled it by going in the exact opposite direction, it managed to convey the post gun moment in a way DKR should have done something similar as(honestly i wonder if the BB moment wasn't made with this moment in mind as a contrast).
Overall though, i would say DKR is a good batman story. A very good one... But i would not put it amongst the top ones by any means. It has amazing moments, but it's not aged like wine, though as a batman adventure, its aged way better than Watchmen has as a solo tale.
Also i have to agree conpletely with your take on Alan Moore.
Its kinda funny, both Alan and Miller went off the complete deep end, both in the exact opposite direction in large part due to personal politics, with miller going far right authoritarianism post 9/11, while Moore going complete anarchist far left as the years went on. It's just that while Millar's problem is that he's mostly just an asshole, Moore has the problem he's also kinda an asshole(If a lesser one compared to Miller), but whereas Miller went off the deep end methapohorically, Moore went off the deep end very literarily.
The man is genuinely insane, honestly thinks he's a wizard with magical powers and the ability to curse people, and probably should get treatment in a psychiatric ward for his own sake.
That's the difference between the drugs (Moore) and the drink (Miller).
Agreed on the Batman-with-gun moment. It goes by too quickly, isn't clear, and just kind of fades into everything else.
For the Two-Face plot, I don't think we need to see what happens to him afterward, as I believe the point is that his mind is now fully poisoned, so it's inevitable he's going back to Arkham. Batman, similarly, has fully devoted himself to his super-persona, so he can no longer reach out to Two-Face. The whole story could definitely use more room, but I think it works well enough.

Din Djarin and Luke Skywalker are both two men who get progressively scarier the more you watch them.
Like, Luke in A New Hope was baby af. He was a child. Even in the Empire Strikes Back, what a little guy. A tiny fellow.
Then boom, Return of the Jedi, and Luke is smiling and like “Tell these Ewoks that you are their God and that if they do not release us, you will be Angered…” He is in all black, he is missing a hand, he has gone off the rails conpletely. He’s like “How will I tell Leia that we’re siblings? …Oh! I know! Riddles!” Luke Skywalker gets struck by Force Lightning like nine times and still gets up and drags his dad’s lifeless body out. There were moments one might look at him and think, “no, ur wrong, he still babie” but you are the wrong one! He goes into Jabba’s Palace and straight up stands there smiling and threatening him the whole time. He’s standing on a plank over the Sarlacc and he’s still like “So this is how you’d like to play :)” Luke straight up snapped, he got spooky by the end of the og trilogy.
Din Djarin, straight off the back, is kind of intimidating. He is a man in full armour who hunts people and freezes them in carbonite and appears behind their shoulders when they least expect it. But, after Grogu shows up, you probably think “this man is weak to this baby, he will become soft” but no! The opposite happens!
I’m talking about episode 6. The Prisoner. I have wanted desperately to talk about this for days, but have only just found the words to do so. Let me explain.
Din Djarin is filmed and edited like a horror movie villain. Like a supernatural force of evil who stalks his prey. Straight up like a slasher villain out of the eighties. There’s hints of this beforehand, what with Din appearing behind a guy in the very first episode, and the fact that he has been shot point blank (many times) but no matter how many times he falls, he always gets back up. Okay, that’s all fine and good.
But episode 6 goes beyond that. He stalks a bunch if assholes through flickering red lights. He splits them up, he takes them out one by one, and the last person standing manages to get out, thinks they’ve escaped, only to die (technically) at Din’s hand anyway. He is straight up a horror movie villain I don’t know how else to explain it, he is a horror movie villain.
Don’t take this the wrong way. Being spooky and intimidating isn’t a bad thing, especially not in Star Wars! Luke Skywalker and his ability to say terrible things while smiling, Din Djarin and his predilection for appearing right behind someone, these ar egood things. I like these things a lot. I love these. I love that Luke is the cutest little scary fella in the galaxy. I love that Din is the most awkward little scary fella in the galaxy. I think it’s great.
Why do I bring this up?
Well, for one, I have been trying to word my view on Din Djarin for days now. I love this man, I have to mock him or I’ll feel incomplete. And I think it’s a disservice to pretend that Luke isn’t a person who most people in the Star Wars universe think about and shiver. Don’t get me wrong, I love sunshine boy Luke, but he isn’t really like that, at least not by this point in the series. He just strikes me as the type of person to say incredibly dark, deranged things with a blank face, then smile at cute kittens. Luke is messed up, and we should talk about it more because it’s very interesting to explore the various ways he’s messed up.
But for another, I am a big fan of Din and Luke being buddies who go absolutely anywhere and scare the shit out of people. A Mandalorian next to a Jedi Knight? Two people who eat Storm Troopers for breakfast?? Can you imagine how much the fragments of the Empire that are still left are quaking??? Those two would go absolutelu anywhere and the anyone on planet who ever sided with the Empire would give themselves up or run, immediately.
Like, Din singlehandedly took out that whole troop on Nevarro. All by himself, he shot out all of the Storm Troopers and everyone inside and I like to think there are whispered stories about him similar to the ones about the Boogeyman.
Now, I know Luke didn’t actually kill the Emperor and Darth Vader, but does anyone in universe know that? Or does everyone think that Luke not only blew up the Death Star, but he also murdered the two head honchos and came out completely unscathed? Luke is definitely a boogeyman.
I don’t know. Something about two terrifying men walking into a bar full of Imperials only to walk out five minutes later of a bar full of dead Imperials just really fills me with joy. Something about the mental image I have of Storm Troopers fearfully sharing increasingly terrifying stories about these two makes me happy. I like bad people being scared shitless, all right? Sue me.

DEATH NOTE CHARACTERS as GRIMES SONGS
Tw: obviously DN spoilers, long post
So as a fcking grimes fan my heart wanted to combine these two themes...her songs as a DN characters. These themes are more like two opposite dimensions, tho it doesn't stop me.
I'm gonna name the persona in Grimes songs as a "lyrical heroine"( like, the author is Grimes and she signs about herself, tho it's not common to talk about the hero in poetry as an author himself, it's someone more abstract...) it's better to call this "person".
Obviously, I'd prefer to begin this analysis (?) with Light Yagami. I'm gonna show the songs and explain why did I choose them exactly like they are.
🌙 LIGHT🌙
For me those three songs illustrates Light surprisingly well.
New Gods describes his will to find "brand new gods", so... he manages to become a GOD himself. This song is actually very pretentious, tho it's a ballad, it suits Light's " high and good intentions", which aren't hypocritical in the very beginning.
"Hands reaching out for new gods
You can’t give me what I want"// – these lines describe the scene where Light takes the death note, he hasn't known what's that yet, but this is a change of his life. The world "before death note" could give him what he wants, though now everything will be different.
//"But the world is a sad place, baby
Only brand new gods can save me" – the world is too boring for Light, so he feels sad. (Tho seems like his "boredom" from the very begging suits only anime adaptation.)
(Also this song could suit Misa, the lines about black eyeliner and attire. Though, i highly think of Light when listen to it)
Weregild describes how Light was "preying", choosing which criminal should die today. Actually the lyrics of the song is very uneven, so some of the phrases could be interpret differently. I love considering and hearing the lyrics actually is:
"I was light and the sky
Was bright at night (All the way)"
(Some versions say the lyrics is "I was night/ I was like the skies" instead of "light", but I've always heard this "light")
Yes, pre-death-note Light was a "true light", but he only was like this, after receiving the note he becomes "someone else":
"Werewolves, werewolves
Skies will brighten"
The "werewolves" are Light. He became a were-Light, slowly turning into Kira...
The lyrical heroine in the song is "preying, haunting, chasing to own something or someone", just like Light owns people's fates and chases his preys:
"And I know, And I howl, And I prey"
Before the Fever is a pathetic falling for Light Yagami. The world is ending for him there:
"Madness, intellect, audacity
Truth and the lack thereof
They will kill us, oh, have no doubt"
Also, his fate is portraited as a one way ticket, it leads to the only one end, the death, the payment for his sins:
"There are many ways in
But there's only one way out"//
// "I get lost
Can you get lost with me, baby?
I get lost"
Light is completely "lost" in the end of the manga/anime. He's always wanted to fool himself, thinking of a creating the new world, thinking he is a "Good" and "God" and he has the right to judge peoole... But someone had better go to a psychiatrist first.
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
🧩 L 🧩
Well, World Princess Part 2 is a weird choice for such a calm and emotionless character as L, but hold on, the lyrics says the conpletely opposite thing.
"I know most likely
How I used to be a frail and silly thought in your mind
Don’t be unkind
You’re so far behind me"
L thinks he was a silly thought for Kira's mind for a first time, but when they met, L became the problem number 1 for Kira. And, L thinks Kira can't keep up with him, the greatest detective in the world, that is why L is far more ahead of Light's thoughts.
"But I can see something more
Than the things you try to take
Now, you’ve made a mistake " – ( The scene with questions for Light (Kira's letters and FBI list)
L understood that Light's biggest mistake is him being a perfectionist who likes to show off :)
The last key lines are those, where L wants to suppress Light's ego, he just wants to catch him, he wants to be a winner. Obviously, L thinks Light has some amazing actor skills:
"Dim the light
In your head, in your heart, in your hiding emotion"
You'll miss me when I'm not around – L's final moments. These song describes that the crew and readers will miss his mind, miss his genius character.
" I shot myself yesterday
Got to Heaven anyway
Think I might regret it now"
Well, actually he was killed, didn't does it himself, but I see this as a metaphore : L "shots" himself, because he actually knew he will die, investigating the Kira's case. I'm sure he always has known his chances.
" Last call, last call
(You'll miss me when I'm not around)" — yes, totally right, we will miss L as the only hope in this depth of darkness...

🎬MISA MISA🎬
Songs for Misa was a very obvious decision, no doubts Shinigami Eyes should be there. The lyrical heroine has shinigami eyes and is sort of a goddess herself there. Tho here Misa's image isn't just a Gothic Lolita cute model, the lyrical heroine is powerful because has the special vision and she realizes this:
"Have you got your Shinigami eyes on?
Are you ready to die?
Got my Shinigami eyes on
Everything is fine
Got my Shinigami eyes"
Also Shinigami Eyes isn't a song about Misa or Death note, it has more abstract character and the main theme is love
Another song that somehow represents Misa's image is Belly of the Beat:
"I, I've been thinking, I've been thinking
I, I could leave the world today
Everybody dies, we anoint their eyes and we dance like angels do
Writing out your name, little shapes that feign some knowledge of you"
These lines of Belly of the beat are interesting if to interpret in a religious way...
Misa is ready to die for Light's sake, that's why she could leave the world today. Also the lyrical heroine says "we dance like angels", so it feels like Misa (Light or everyone else who received a deathnote) becomes a non-human creature, she's now closer to a Shinigami.
Another fascinating line is "we anoint their eyes". This is a tricky one, but I explain this as if Misa was gifted with special eyes, therefore her eyes were "anointed". Who are "we" and what are "their eyes" in this case? Maybe, Misa Misa, the blessed one with the eyes, thinks, that Light and she could "enlighten" people them to believe in Kira as a New God. That's why she thinks their point of view, their vision change.
Further – more. The while line about name says for Misa the literal knowledge of the name is useless. She has the eyes, so unlike does Light, she doesn't have to grab for person's name to kill him, she just sees it. Thus, for her the name is a really "little shape of knowledge".

📰Yagami Soichirou 📰
Soichirou Yagami is known as an extremely hardworking and principle policeman. He's surely afraid to think his own son theoretically could be Kira, so just like the lyrical heroine he tells himself he doesn't know what to do. He has a dilemma, the atmosphere at work is encircles him (as the name of the song):
"Oh baby, I can't say
That everything is okay
'Cause I have a problem
And I don't know how to solve them"
Other lines convince me to think Soichiro would think about his wife, he'd tell her he is sorry for not being at home, but he has to work, people needs the police to protect them. So, there's no another way for him to give up on continue investigating Kira's case:
"Oh, baby, I can't do
Oh anything to help you
'Cause I am working to the bone
And you know, and you know
You're gonna have to play alone"

💼Matsuda💼
I don't really wanted to take songs from this "Dune devoted" album, because almost all songs have elements from characters from Dune and that's just feels wrong, tho as a person who's never read this book, Ill ignore my previous words.
Matsuda annoys me, really, he is a guy who works in police for nothing, his motivation is 0, literally. The only thing which defines him is that Matsuda really wants to be useful... How does that work with all his motivation, I can't really imagine, but that's is. Plus, Matsuda is still young and unexperienced, so he doesn't really know what to do in some situations:
"Everybody thinks that I'm boring
Many people think I've got no clue
And to deal with all the fire here outside?
What to do when all of this is blue?"
And he is a kind of a guy, who will feel valued if someone just looks at him, says that he was a good person and so on:
"When you say my name I know you love me
When you touch my heart I know I care"
So this song is kinda fits well now.
▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
🔎Raye Penber🔎
Crystal Ball isn't a song which is highly associates with Raye, honestly, I'd never find him a song unless the lyrics of Crystall Ball existed.
I'm not going to say Raye is the someone who hesitates a lot, but his actions are kinda weird for a FBI agent, and the mood of this song is weird, unfocused, the lyrical heroine can't decide on "someone", just like Raye can't decide what to do... He was spying on Light, tho underestimated him so much that said goodbye to his life soon:
"Holding on and I can't decide
and I can't decide on him (ah)
Holding on and I can't seem to
can't seem to oh begin"
RAYE CANT BEGIN TO THINK.
When Kira found out who Ray was, he just uses Penber to write a whole list of other FBI agents, and Raye, of course, don't wanna die, he can't refuse to do what Kira forced him to do. And, ironically he lets Light go:
"I won't, I can't
I know, I let you go oh!"

On sex differences and why they matter
Ok yall, I work out A LOT. I’ve been on my shit almost daily for the past ten years. I am jacked. Shredded, even. My muscles have muscles. I cannot wear dresses with sleeves because my arms straight up cannot fit in them. If you punched my stomach, you’d break your hand.
But with all that, I am stilI weaker than men. I know that I will never be able to lift as much as the guys in the weight room. In fact, it would probably only take a scrawny man six months of training to conpletely surpass my strength levels. I am accutely aware that the average man on the street could probably whoop my ass. The only way to fix this would be steroids.
Therefore, it annoys me to see people who have never even racked a dumbell argue that there are no real differences between males and females. It’s easy to say that everyone should just play on the same sports teams and compete for the same titles when the only thing you use your male/female body for is trying to find a comfortable position in your computer chair. Find someone of the opposite sex, and then give both of you six months to train for a powerlifting competition. See what happens.
I swear, some people make my jock ass want to give them an atomic wedgie and shove them in a locker

Ok so I don’t know how but it took you spelling out Phil and Vigo’s relationship and now it’s all I’ve been able to think about because?? The tragedy of it all??? And I was just wondering if you had any extra info about their relationship that you’d be willing to share? Cause honestly it sounds simultaneously so cute and so heart-wrenching and I am HERE for it. For real, every time I learn something new about the world of ILM I love it even more, thank you so much for that piece of perfection!
Oh absolutely!
I am very tempted to start posting the chunks of Signifying Nothing I already have but I am simultaneously like “But you know you’d have to update slower rn” and so I keep balking, especially since I am writing New Dawn Fades too rn :’-] — We shall see. Anway! I am sorry it took so long to answer this I had a massive project I only finally finished this afternoon (I’m dying), but I have been very excited abt this because I adore Vigo so much!
Ahhh Vigo and Philip. They really said “Sooo...enemies to lovers speedrun?” And then did so fast they claimed a new high score.
I am not sure what specifically you’d like to know about (feel free to ask specifics if there are some! :D ) so I am just gonna throw out some random facts.
Vigo is from Norway, in the 1910s-30s originally. Philip from Nigeria in the 1960s-1970s, then Wisocnsin in the early 80s, so while they’re both gay men, it was never safe for either of them to be out. They also lived in fairly isolated places and were the only people like themselves they knew. This lead to them, once they were already traveling together in the realm for other reasons, having the most awkward flirting style. You know that “Bro, it’s just a dream”—“*nervously* Yeah I’m not gay, I wouldn’t fuck you”—“...You wouldn’t? :’ (“ “...I mean, unless you wanted to.” Vine? Both of them trying to figure out if the other likes men and/or them. They both think they can be subtle. They can’t. Just the other one is so fucking paranoid and anxious about this whole sitch the net effect is the same.
They are both fools who follow their gut instincts irrationally, but this worked out really well for them because if they weren’t the both would have killed the other during their first two real interactions.
They are super in love. They were so in love that even after ILM, when Vigo is both dead and someone Philip can’t even remember, he is still in love with him so much that he’s going to spend the rest of his life with him, whether that means trying to find a way to the realm again and the void just in case, or simply living how Vigo died in the hopes he’d get to, and spending quiet days talking to his ghost.
Vigo’s original character goal and life purpose on Signifying Nothing is the take the Entity down/beat it and to save everyone in the realm. Philip’s original character goal is to simply be allowed to live an okay life where the violence stops and he neither hurts nor is hurt by others, and maybe is happy sometimes—he just wants to be a decent man. Vigo dies and fails to obtain his own goal utterly, and basically achieves the opposite, as does Philip. Extremely cruelly. In In Living Memory, or rather, In Living Memory itself, is a manuscript Vigo puts together as a husk in the void, memorializing the events in the realm, and fulfilling Philip’s goal for him—carving into reality the truth he is a decent man who just wanted to not hurt or be heart, and giving immportal remembered meaning to that. As well as recording his eventual happiness with his new family. It ends once Vigo’s goals are assured (Philip is really going to be both happy and alright), and his connection to them outside the realm is failing and he won’t be able to observe anymore. Similarly, Philip throws away his own goals and future, and completes Vigo’s character arc for him, sacrificing himself in Memento Mori to achieve Vigo’s goal—beating the Entity and saving everyone in the realm—for him in his stead. A grand fate far beyond what Philip would have picked for himself.
But in the end, they both achieve the others’ life goal for them, since they could not do it themselves, and in doing so, kind of fulfil their own. Philip gives up everything to fight and win, and in doing so, finds a happy life to go home to. Vigo records Philip’s journey and everyone else’s and in doing so becomes the direct inspiration and motivation for the eventual escape of everyone in the realm. So. In simple terms. In loving Philip, Vigo does find a way to save everyone after all. And in loving Vigo, Philip finds life as a good man who many days gets to be happy.
I am gonna go cry now.
Uhhhhh what else. I’m really tempted to kinkshame Vigo but I’m not gonna do it right now. I will say his dumb ass spent like a whole week with Philip, who was armed with his sickle and not pretending not to be a killer, just conpletely obliviously believing him to be a rando, because Vigo has a great mind but only if the focus setting is switched on and sadly he does not control the focus choices.
Philip is much taller than Vigo because he’s seven feet tall and Vigo is Norwegian so he keeps trying to convince me he’s “no no actually 5’12””, but I am 99% sure that’s a lie and he’s actually 5’9”.
Vigo is a terrifyingly good fighter. He conjours things out of the fog really well. His main item is a summonded like made from light drum because he came here trying to function as a noadi to help the people captured by an evil spirit. It looks like a shield bc of the size and shape, so most people assume it is, and that was kind of meant to be its purpose, but it gets used as an offensive weapon waaay more (I mean, he’s here to fight spiritual warfare what do you epect from the man?). Philip, who runs around with a scythe, like, the most death-lookin weapon of all, uses his sickle for primarily defense/as a shield. This makes them very funny to watch but also extremely formidable as a tag-team in battle.
Even though Norwegian is not a super affectionate langaube interestingly, and kind of the opposite, Vigo is a very quickly affectionate person by nature and is very liberal with the terms of endearment. This used to annoy Alex and Benedict, but like, in the way where a friend annoys you but you kind of don’t really hate it. Philip really liked it. Vigo used to call him Kjære a lot.

Noah Must Be Crazy
TeensXcite 2015.02.07 Noah Must Be Crazy
