#monaco gp#they fucked her up#lets riot#lets boycott#this is step fucking one on setting a 'specual' rule for every race#they are changing the sport completely#and some of these changes are irreversible#f1#ranting because I'm pissed off#why change my fav race#why change any of the races#fia could just hand out fines for drivers daring to breathe at the wrong moment and set up their own fucking result for the championship#why race any of the races?#fia could just announce the championship results now for the 2026 season too#who cares about the racing if you take out the soul of it?

forever hilarious to me that tennis is promoted as this prestigious highbrow big-brain sport when most tennis fans these days are like. yeah this is my favorite player. yeah i don't know why they're like that. yes they are stupid. no i will not choose somebody else.
#wta tennis#atp tennis#i feel like the era of...shall we say 'federer-esque' players is waning#which i think can in part be related to the loss of the one-handed-backhand#as the sport moves more toward a necessity for fitness and athleticism players do not put as much emphasis on 'art'#which imo is fine! i think the 'art' of tennis is too protected in some ways. which i maybe will expand on later.#but i think it's too much for the tags of a (mostly) silly post#but yeah you can hear a lot of commentators touch on it#i know nadal even said something abt it recently(ish)#but i think as tennis is gradually less associated with this abstract 'image' (e.g. the obsession with federer's 'grace' and 'class')#players are coming in thinking 'this is a physical battle and i am going to win' and very much leaning into the *competition*#which not to say that they're ignoring/denying the mental aspects at all because i actually do think many players are very strategic/aware#and in truth i think many tennis players ARE actually very smart#but i also think it's less apparent because more and more players are able to just hit the shit out of the ball and call it a day#which leaves you with the occasional shot/point/game/set/match etc where it seems like they don't know what the fuck they're doing#but you think about most sports which evolve in phases#it's very normal for certain player profiles to become more or less popular as the landscape of the sport changes#or as new techniques/strategies are developed#or as new communities/populations become interested!#extreme example but think of like. high jump's fosbury flop. that was one guy!#one guy who changed the entire fucking sport! so it makes perfect sense that tennis is continuing to evolve#given how many unique players have come and gone#and how much the sport is changing externally as well as internally#anyways. this got out of hand but i love sports and i love tennis and i love my brainless players.#this whole post was inspired by rewatching sabalenka v boulter and aryna completely missed an overhead by like five feet. lol#love her <3

where could i possibly watch the old motogp races? just came across your list for newbies and wanted to give it a try. have a nice day!
there's probably a more organised post about places to watch old races that somebody could link anon to - but if you don't have videopass, youtube is a good place to start. motogp has a playlist of full races, even if it somewhat annoyingly doesn't actually include all the races they've uploaded. I've been thinking of going through the races uploaded to youtube, writing up a post with say two to three lines about each race and how much I'd recommend it, as a bit of a more accessible resource than the existing recs lists - if that's something people would find useful, give me a shout. for now, for this rec list, from the eleven main races I included all but austria 2017 and phillip island 2023 are available on youtube - and for phillip island 2023... look, if you google 'motogp full race replays' you will very easily find a site where you can watch all of the more recent races
for the races at the bottom of that post, here are the ones available if you type them into your youtube search bar:
phillip island 2004 is available on facebook rather than youtube (god knows why), mugello 2005 is like..? almost completely available, but a bit of the start has been chopped off I think. psa: phillip island 2003 is also available. laguna 2011 isn't, but the best bit of the race is: the insane overtake casey does on jorge into the most terrifying of blind corners. generally, the youtube picks from the motogp account aren't a terrible jumping off point, though there are a few odd inclusions. hope that helps!

promare high school aus u will always have been deeply baffling to me. but even more than that the fact that ppl read them was rly confusing when i was 19 and it’s still confusing now at 24 when i find the idea even more repulsive
#the thing that got me abt them is that they weren’t ever even remotely in character for what those guys were actually doing in high school#but beyond the autism & transgender & even ‘most gay ppl that didn’t live in heartstopper’ erasures#i think it was rly funny all the ones i saw get passed around as rly fun and in character completely changed galos backstory so nothing#remotely like anything that happened in canon happened to him like his parents were alive and they were cool now#just insane 2 me ppl scrubbed anything that made him who he was out and replaced it w football#and they didn’t even get that right bcuz galo wouldn’t have played group sports but if he had he would’ve played basketball. fake fans smh!#but he was too busy being autistic and trans and traumatized in his room at 16 for that

can't even enjoy any matcheup because I'm too worried about zverat still being in the draw and potentially winning a slam
i don't want to be too negative about this ask but like. if this is how you feel you should not watch. like i 100% understand this feeling but if you are too distressed about him to actually enjoy the sport then it's really not worth it. you deserve to be able to enjoy tennis in a way that doesn't hinge on that outcome.
#alexander zverev#sorry for taking this too seriously but like. there are so many shitty people in tennis and in sports in general#i absolutely do not blame you for feeling this way but you need to weigh if that worry is worth the joy of watching#because the unfortunate truth is he very well may win a slam and if your enjoyment of the sport hinges on that#then its probably healthier to abstain#like obviously it bothers the shit out of me that he's still playing#but im also at the point of like. well. its clear they're not going to do anything about it#nothing is going to happen#the best i can do for myself is just avoid his matches as much as possible#occasionally i do get pissed because other players are all buddy buddy with him and that does suck#but for the most part ive been able to save myself from a lot of distress about it just by completely ignoring his existence#and if he did win a slam i would continue to do so#i used to be very dialed in to this exact thought process#like i couldn't even enjoy a men's tournament that he was playing in because i just kept thinking about how unfair it was#and eventually i decided that was stupid because its not going to change the fact that he's playing#AND its robbing me of my enjoyment of the sport#which he should have no bearing on#so anyway. i get it but also i really would advise you to try and reorient yourself if you can#because you deserve to be able to enjoy the sport even if he's playing

had my routine forcibly changed today by train delays and construction and so much more and now i feel like all my social skills are gone again. ive been working so hard to force myself to talk and everything but im so tired now. i cant take care of myself today, im barely holding together. stupid routine change. i hope its fine next week
#araksi posts#when the autism#train changed which place it usually stops at (south instead of north) which already felt horrible#and then it had 20#minutes delay so i couldn't go by my usual tram#and had to go somewhere completely knew <- that already takes so much energy#but otherwise i would have been late to class#and then i got on the wrong tram on the way to sport#and almost missed it#and then the shop was so full of people and i felt like i was choking#i can deal with the world on most days. sometimes even well. but if one thing changes it all goes bad#at least my headphones are repaired agaim <3
