Soap Gets a Visitor
Soap and Ghost but cat edition™.
There was a cat staring at him from the halls of their base. It was sitting in front of his door and it's fur was a striped tawny brown. The size of it threw him off; it was shockingly massive for what looked to be a tabby. There was a hard glint in it's eyes that made it look remarkably human in its distaste.
Soap stares back. He rubs a hand over his eyes tiredly. It was a strange day when he was hallucinating indifferent cats right outside his doorway. Soap should really wake up now.
He wipes his face more vigorously and closes his eyes. Counts to ten and opens them. The cat was still there. This time it looked even more unamused at him. Feline features showing a minute displeasure in the way it grimaced.
Soap boggles for a second. If he wasn't dreaming then that meant there actually was a cat on base. He couldn't believe the balls on whoever brought the cat in. They were really pushing their luck. Aside from working dogs, animals weren't allowed and even then, Soap tried his hardest to avoid them. Dogs and Soap had never gotten along. The scars from his last encounter were just another reminder of that.
The bushy ringed tail of the cat swishes on the ground, thumping loudly at the flooring. The sound shocks him from his stupor and draws his focus to the black tip that was waving jerkily by his feet. The cat seemed to be annoyed at Soap's lack of attention on it and was handily showing him its ire.
Soap makes a quick decision. It wasn't every day he got to pet a cat, and despite Soap's poor relationship with dogs, he liked cats. They were more prone to giving him space and walking away when they had enough. And he couldn't help but have a fondness for them; they reminded him of a certain lieutenant of his afterall.
Soap furtively checks for anyone around. It would be best if there were no witnesses. He didn't want to get sent to latrine duty if he was caught. Soap just knew Price would do it if he had any inkling that he was going to let the cat stay with him till he found its owner.
It was only going to be a couple hours anyway and it was better for everyone if he had the cat in his room. He couldn't let the animal roam around the base unattended.
The sergeant crouches down and offers a hand. The cat only wrinkles it's nose and backs away from the hand.
"Yer a tough customer." He chuckles softly. "Ye remind me of someone I ken." He tells the disinterested animal.
It pauses, yellow green eyes tracking him curiously.
Soap grins and withdraws his hand. "Curious now?" A tail swishes impatiently. "Aye, ye are aren't ya." He replies back teasingly.
The cat gets up and stretches, it's mouth opening to show off its teeth in a large meandering yawn. Soap felt he could relate. He'd been wakened by scratching at the door. According to his beside clock, it was 0400 hours. Too early for anyone not on a night rotation to be up.
Ghost would be up though—albeit on duty. Soap was a little tempted to go and find the man. See how he'd react to the animal. Soap wasn't sure if they'd get along. Ghost liked dogs, but that didnt mean the reticent man would like cats too. Maybe the cat and Ghost would get into a cat fight and hiss at each other; it was a possibility.
Soap widens his door open and scoots back a few steps, crouching down low to encourage the cat to come in with low pss, pss, noises. He holds out a hand just in case the cat decided to rub against it for pets.
The cat only wrinkles it's whiskers and saunters through the door, pass his outstretched fingers. It had the sort of feline grace that was inherent to all cats (and a ghost) that made it seem like they owned the place and was only deigning to come in cause they felt like it and not because you wanted it to.
Soap was already halfway in love.
Despite the dimness of his room, it jumps neatly on Soap's bed, nudging around his sheets for the best spot to lay in. The cat seemed eerily focused on the bed. Soap couldn't help but find it a bit strange. Not that he had any experience in this exact circumstance, but usually animals tended to investigate new areas first. Though it did made sense if the cat was someone's pet and thus, was already used to the general layout. The sergeants room was just a basic copy of every other private room available.
The cat wiggled around some, deciding to lie in the exact centre of the bed. Soap snorts. "You're a demanding one, aren't ya." He sighs, a little helplessly. Warmth spread across his chest like weeds sprouting in pavement. God help him but he always did like the hard to please type.
Soap closes the door quietly. He carefully creeps up to his bed, wanting to see if he could pet the cat. With each step closer, the cat straightens up from its sprawl. It's ears flicks back for a moment and then eases. "I'm nae gonna hurt ye." Soap murmurs softly.
For all that the cat invited itself in, it seemed to be wrestling with itself in whether to flee or not. Closer up, he can see the fine scars that ran the bridge of its nose. It's eyes appeared to be set in a permanent glare. Soap was struck by the resemblance.
"Ye really do remind me of Ghost." Soap tells it wonderingly.
The cat freezes and it's ears flatten out showing the white spot on the backs. Soap manages to get one step away from it and lays a hand out near its mouth. He knew he was gambling. Leaving his hand vulnerable to bites was something only a fool would do. But some instinct of his told him he just had to be patient and outwait the cat.
It's white jaw twitches as if it wanted to bite. Soap waits. The cat bores a hole into him. There's a weighty pause, both of them seemed intent to wait and see what the other did first.
Soap thinks. It seemed to like hearing about Ghost, maybe talking about him would help.
"Ghost was like this too with me." He says.
The cat's orange tinged face scrunches up. "He was!" Soap argues. "He didn't like me talking to him at all." A wry grin forms on his mouth at the memories.
"But I wore him down." Soap inches closer against the bed, one finger touch away from the cat's scarred face. It's long whiskers twitches and it's eyes were dead set on him.
"Yer a bonnie one." He whispers to it.
The cat freezes. Soap takes a leap and strokes the side of its striped cheek. It was so soft Soap wanted to cry. At the touch, the rigidness of the cat melts away. It's tensed muscles unclench, visibly relaxing.
Soap does it again. A deep purr erupts from its chest, eyes closing blissfully as Soap rubs the base of its spotted ears.
"Yer just a big softie underneath the scars." He whispers, more to himself than anything. The words pour out like the fingers that ran a line down the curve of the cat's spine. It's back arched to follow his hand. He could feel the thick muscle and scars that hid beneath the striped fur. It's purrs going deeper still, vibrations shaking the white tuff on its chest.
The cat's striking eyes shut, caught on the bliss of Soap's careful hands.
Soap shifts despite himself, a pained exhale coming from his throat as he moved. His kneeling position by the bed was starting to hurt. The cats eyes open at the sound of Soap's pained grunt.
It got up shakily and walked to the far corner of his bed, away from Soap. "No, don't go." Soap pleads. He wanted to keep on stroking it's soft fur, but if the cat didn't want him to then he'd better give it some more space.
He gets up onto his feet and makes to move away. A plaintive meow stops him in his tracks. He turns to see pleading yellow eyes stare back at him. The cat seemed to want him to get on the bed and pet it some more.
"So demanding. Just like The Ghost." He grins. "Don't tell him I said this, but he's just a needy big guy like yerself. Ye both soak up attention like yer starving for it." Soap muses.
The cat's tail lashes at the remark. "Ach, don't be so mad." He shushes, coming closer to the bed and sitting on the side. "It's not's a bad thing—" Soap swings a foot carefully on to the bed. "Being needy that is." He finishes softly to the cat.
"I wish Ghost needed me more." Soap confides.
The cat's paw raises as if it wanted to push him away. It's all tensed up again, a hunch rising on its back. "It's okay." Soap croons. A hum grows from his throat. He shuffles closer, sheets ruffling up under his movements.
"We all need some love in our life." He lets a couple fingers hover near the cat's face. The cat stands dead still, it doesn't even appear to breath.
Soap rubs the top of its head near some of the scarring. Motor boat purrs stutter and start, sounding more like an engine than feline. It was shockingly loud. Even the cat looked surprised at the intensity.
He was beginning to think the animal wasn't anyone's pet, or at least not any longer. The cat didn't seem used to physical affection. It was scarily alike Ghost in all ways. Soap could tell that just like his lieutenant, those fine scars on its face and body went far deeper than the physical. It seemed simultaneously too confident and skittish with human contact.
Soap continues his mission to have the animal melt into mush. He carefully massages behind its ears and strokes underneath its chin. It seemed to like it. It's purrs taking up the whole room. The cat relaxes even more, going from solid to liquid. It resembled a lazy puddle more than an alert predator. Soap's heart swells until it feels fit to burst. The cat liked him!
Soap gets comfortable on the bed, fully enraptured by the animal sprawled out on it. The cat yawns again, it's eyes drooping in its apparent tiredness. Soap felt tired too. It was just so nice—having company right next to him, so warm and alive that wanted his affection.
His hand falters. He yawns. His eyes shut close. Everything felt like a hazy dream. If only Ghost was here, it'd be perfect. Soap could already imagine it: a nice cottage out in the countryside, a cat slinking around, going as it pleased and a gravely voice and an even more gravely body to cuddle up to. "Wish Ghost was here." He rambles to it tiredly. "I'd think you'd fall in love with him too." Tiredness draws heavy eyes shut.
"Just like I did."
Darkness chases his eyes. The sound of purrs drowns the rest.
Soap sleeps.
—
Soap wakes up. He was lying on his bed over the covers. Strange. Wait. The cat. Where was the cat?
He looks around, trying to catalogue any sign of that bushy black tail but to no avail. He gets up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and checks his closet and underneath his bed. Still nothing. He checks to make sure the door was closed. Yup. Closed. His clock beeps at him shrilly. Shite. He had to go.
Soap readies up to go, making sure he got his boots on right and his sheets tucked properly. The cat would have to wait. If it was even there at all. It might have been all some dream of his. Though if it really wasn't a dream, the cat wouldn't have been able to leave his room without being able to suddenly open a door knob with no opposible thumb.
Regardless, he was going to be late if he dawdled longer. He rushes out of his door, not wanting a lecture from Price. Soap only got three metres from the doorframe before slamming right into something solid, large and black. Ghost.
"Sorry Lt." He chokes looking up, embarrassment colouring his cheeks pink. Ghost looks at him oddly. Something about his heavy gaze made the man appear vaguely embarrassed to Soap. Perhaps it was the visible squint in the lines around his eyes. Ghost had decided to forgo eyeblack this morning.
Ghost grunts at him.
"Ye happen to see a cat anywhere, sir?" Soap rubs a hand back his neck nervously. "Big tabby with a black tip?"
Ghost stiffens. "No." He barks agrivatedly and leaves. Soap is left watching the rapidly retreating back of his lieutenant.
Soap blinks. He could've sworn he saw the man blushing at what he said in the brief look he managed before the man beat a hasty retreat. There was a heavy red on the visible patch of skin. It was a noticeable departure from the sallow colour of the man's skin.
Did Ghost somehow know the cat?
One thing for sure, Ghost knew more than he was saying.
Soap was going to find out what.

Boy I haven't updated in *years*
Okay so here's one thing for the Uber Driver AU because I still miss it.
Soap and Ghost are good friends now. They talk often whenever they see one another, they know each other's silly nicknames. They already saw a movie together and Soap doesn't even need to request a ride anymore, since he's got Si's personal number.
They're slowly falling for each other, but since none of them knows what this *is* exactly, they've been keeping quiet. Especially Ghost, who was never really too good with getting attached (doesn't end well).
But there was this one night in which Soap arrived from work, absolutely tired, like work had really done numbers on him this time. Not sure if he's gonna work in an office or a coffee shop or maybe or maybe a record store, who knows.
The point is, he's exhausted and his day was the worst. They talked a little on his way back home (Soap completely forgot he used to be a ride-or-die biker these past few months) and ended up falling asleep.
Ghost couldn't help but smile when he realized. And when he arrived at Soap's house, rather than waking him up, he took Johnny's keys and carried him inside, tucked him into bed.
That was, for sure, the night he realized he didn't feel just some sort of friendship with Johnny. His care and his attention, all of that was love.
I'm planning on writing this as Ghost fell first but since I'm doing it from his POV it is entirely possible that they fell at the same time.

Bad news! Jiji is sick. Good news! We caught it about as early as possible, it’s fully treatable, and it’s just. Super common in shelter kittens
#bad news! RIP MY BANK ACCOUNT JESUS CHRIST THERE FOES MY FIRST PAYCHECK#in all seriousness tho I’m so grateful my mom noticed she was runnin a lil warm#which is why she made the appointment. as well as both of us noticing she was a lil lethargic#so according to the vet she’s def had it since before we adopted her#and had we waited till her vet appointment next Tuesday she would’ve been a Very sick kitten#so! she is now on a bland diet some liquid antibiotics and a pill#she’s on the bland food untill she the diarrhea stops. the antibiotics until we run out p much. and the pill for between 5 and 20 days#we’re also calling her shelter tomorrow to tell them she’s got it since her brother was in the same crate and it spreads through litter#and on a completely unrelated Note she earned her third middle name#so since black cats that you can see tabby stripes on are called smoke#and she has that effect. her new middle name is Savu! which is smoke in Finnish#might get switched to Aave which is ghost depending on if her coat changes enough to make her a ghost tabby instead of a smoke#which makes her new full name Jiji Savu Georgie Posy#and she and Cross are now tied for number of middle names#anyways that’s been your Jiji update for the day if you’re still readin this I hope you’ve had a wonderful day!! :D

a few people expressed confusion when I was talking about Belphie's colouration earlier, so I'll break it down into layers. here is how you make a Belphegor:
step 1: take a solid black cat
step 2: add the silver modifier (in non-tabby cats, this is called 'smoke' and will add ghost tabby markings and a silver undercoat)
step 3: add white spotting
step 4: add siamese-type pointing (black pointed cats are called 'seal points')
step 5: add Devon Rex fur (in kittens his age, this means lots of bald spots)
and ta da! now you have a Belphegor - a seal smoke point with white!

LADS Zayne: I Knead You | SFW
This was just a quick writing warm up, because I was playing the event (has no spoilers in here) and I just...give Zayne a pet cat. He deserves one. The title is from a song my friend shared with me when I was trying to come up with what to call this.
(Also sorry if there's typos, they're paid actors)
❧ Pairings: Zayne x Reader ❧ Warnings: None ❧ Synopsis: You come home, and you brought home a new addition to your little family with Zayne. ❧ Word Count: 1.3k
Disclaimer: This is an original fan work for “Love and Deepspace”. Do not repost on other platforms or plagiarize. All characters shown in this fic is 18+.

Zayne
I Knead You
It wasn’t often that Zayne found himself getting concerned by something you did. For the most part, he was used to your antics. You would always do something to keep him on his toes, and it brought a sense of excitement to his life. Today, however, was bringing more concern than any other emotion.
It was as though the moment he said, “Welcome back,” he found himself regretting it. Watching as you walked backward into the home with something in your hands made him wonder what you did. The way your shoulders had also tensed up wasn’t doing much, and then the gentle ‘meow’ from your arms solidified in his head, which is precisely why you had come home so late today.
“What’s in your hands?” Zayne said with a sigh, already knowing the answer but needing you to confirm it.
“I’ll tell you, but you have to promise not to be mad.” You said, not turning around just yet. You were facing away from him with the creature firmly pressed against your chest as if trying to keep it calm and quiet.
“I won’t get bad, but I make no promises on being disappointed in your actions.” He said, a ghost of a smile already on his lips. You were acting like a child right now who did something they definitely weren’t supposed to do. You were aware of this as well, but you honestly had a feeling if you had straight up asked him to do this, he’d say no. If he had seen it in your arms already, the chances of keeping the creature would have been higher.
In truth, you had already spoken to Yvonne about the situation, and she claimed she had been thinking about getting a cat. You had asked her if Zayne says no to keep it and if she’d be willing to. Of course, she said yes, excited about the prospect, and if Zayne happened to be fine with keeping a new pet, then she’d just go out and get her own, and you would set up kitty play dates.
“Okay, see, I think being disappointed is ten times worse, but I think that’s the best imma get out of you so…” You finally turned around to show Zayne the orange tabby in your arms. The small cat let out a confused ‘mew’ noise as it looked around the nice house. Zayne took a moment to stare and shook his head, letting out a small sigh.
“If you had wanted a cat, we could’ve discussed it.” He said, already standing up from his spot on the couch. He placed his laptop on the coffee table as he got closer to you. The cat in your arms is wriggling a bit at hearing someone and smelling the subtleness of Zayne’s aftershave in the air. It was clear the man had been ready for bed, wearing some pajamas with his hair still slightly damp; he had been waiting for you to come home, “We don’t even have cat supplies.”
“Oh see, that’s where you’re wrong.” You said with a chuckle. Zayne looked confused for a moment as you placed the little fur ball into his arms. The cat immediately began curling into him, nuzzling its face against his chest as if Zayne had always been its owner. “Come, follow.” You said, and Zayne found himself doing just that, following you through his own house to the guest bedroom he had set up.
When you opened the door, he saw a variety of cat supplies: toys, a bed, a few cat trees, treats, and food. Of course, he hadn’t checked the guest room; he never had a reason to, judging by how it was rare for a guest to say the night. It used to be for you, but you had long since evolved in your relationship and now shared the same room.
“What brought this on?” He said he was going to pet the cat. The small tabby began batting at his hand as if he were playing with it, and he found himself going alone, moving a finger around for his paws to tap at it. He was a bit surprised when it didn’t try to use its claws on him, and it even seemed comfortable being in his arms.
“Well…after that photo shoot last month, I just thought…maybe it was time to expand the family.” You said with a subtle blush. You and Zayne weren’t married, not by a long shot, but you acted like a married couple of 20 years most of the time. So, of course, you had thought of the two of you as a small family at this point. Zayne’s eyes widened a bit in surprise before going back to the usual, relaxed demeanor he had around you.
“So this has been on your mind for a while then?” he asked, slowly letting the cat down onto the floor. The small tabby began wandering off into the room, probably to explore some things while you two talked.
“Yes, it has been…so can we keep him?” you asked, and Zayne had a hard time saying no. Thankfully, you hadn’t brought home a puppy, or he’d be turning down the offer so much faster. Cats could be independent for long hours of the day, and if needed, they could set up an automatic feeder for nights when they’d both be coming home late.
“We can…have you named…him?” Zayne asked, unsure as to the gender of the cat. You giggled as you looked at the cat and then back at him.
“Figured if you said yes, we could brainstorm some names together.” You said, grabbing a small name tag that was blank. You’d have to go to the pet store to have it engraved later, but you placed it in his hand. He moved it around like it was a coin and gave you a small, knowing look.
“So you wanted to name our new child together?” the way he said it had your entire face going hot. You cleared your throat as you nodded.
“Yes, after all, he’s our kitty. I chose him specifically for us. He’s perfect in every way.” You began, and then Zayne heard a small thump as the cat ran into the bed frame. The small cat looked at it, using its paws to look over the frame, “It’s a bit quirky. It runs into a lot of things. It actually ran into my leg in the shelter and then the glass window. It was funny, and I loved him.”
“You bought a blind cat,” Zayne said as the realization dawned on him.
“I bought a blind cat. He didn’t like to eat his carrots.” You were trying so hard not to laugh at the statement. While the cat wasn’t fully blind, the person at the shelter did warn you that his eyesight wasn’t very…good.
Zayne was silent for a moment before grabbing your waist and pulling you closer. He put his forehead on yours as he looked at you, “Is this a warning about my future?” he asked, a subtle smile on his lips.
“Would you eat carrots if I made it into cake form?” You asked, then jumped slightly, your body pressing into Zayne’s as the cat suddenly began rubbing against your leg. You heard Zayne chuckle as he let you go and opted to scoop the cat back into his arms. The cat seemed to enjoy being held as it immediately relaxed into his grasp, once again nuzzling against him.
“I’m fairly certain carrot cake gets rid of all the nutritional benefits of the actual carrot.” He explained, and you hummed.
“It probably does, but that doesn’t answer my question.” You said, your voice still taking a teasing edge.
“It’s a no from me.”
“Rude.”
If you comment on this fic and leave notes, I ask kindly that you don't discuss Zayne being a father. Pregnancy and children make me uncomfortable.

Hi!! i was looking through the masterpost and couldn't find anything for it, so i wanted to ask- is there any guide to how cats would be described in the allegiances page in-game? ex. a rosette cat being described as "oddly-spotted" etc. i wanna use similar descriptors for cats, but the page only accounts for alive cats inside the clan, so i was wondering if theres any list of what pelt traits indicate what description is used?
Well, there was no resource for this, but let's make one now! I peeked into the files to grab the descriptors for you :]
Below the readmore, this is very long as I included everything that goes into it! Hopefully it helps <3
☆ Fable ☆
Colour Descriptors
"pale"— White
Only called "pale" if the cat is not singlecolour, twocolour, tortoiseshell, or calico. In these cases, it is called "white"
"pale gray"— Palegrey
"gray"— Grey
"dark gray"— Darkgrey
"pale ginger"— Paleginger
"dark ginger"— Darkginger, Sienna
"light brown"— Lightbrown, Lilac
"golden brown"— Golden-brown
"dark brown"— Darkbrown, Chocolate
"black"— Ghost
Colours that are listed the same as they are coded— Silver, Golden, Ginger, Brown, Black
Pattern Descriptors
"[colour] tabby"— Tabby, Marbled, Mackerel, Classic, Agouti, Sokoke
"speckled [colour]"— Speckled
"unusually dappled [colour]"— Bengal
"unusually spotted [colour]"— Rosette
"[colour] ticked"— Ticked
"[colour] smoke"— Smoke
"dorsal-striped [colour]"— Singlestripe
"masked [colour] tabby"— Masked
Tortoiseshell Descriptors
"[colour]"— [Base colour]/[Patch colour]
Base colour refers to the main colour, while patch colour refers to the colour of the cats patches. They are always written with the slash between them Examples: brown/ginger, pale gray/black
"[colour] tortie"— A tortoiseshell with either no white patch, or a white patch that is either classed as little white or mid white.
"[colour] calico"— A tortoiseshell with a white patch that is either classed as high white or mostly white.
"[colour] mottled"— A tortoiseshell whose base colour and patch colours are both in the brown, black, or white category
They do not need to both be in the same category, just one of those three; a lilac and ghost tortoiseshell will be listed as mottled, for example, but a lilac and ginger tortoiseshell will not
"[descriptor] tabby"— If a tortoiseshell has the pelt type Tabby, Ticked, Mackerel, Classic, Sokoke, Agouti, Bengal, Rosette, or Speckled, "tabby" is added after the descriptor.
Example: A Lilac and Ginger tortoiseshell tabby with the Rosette pattern and no white patches would be listed as a "light brown/ginger tortie tabby"
White Patch Descriptors
"[colour] and white"— A non-tortoiseshell with a white patch that is either classed as little white, mid white, or high white.
Can also be a tortoiseshell with a white patch that is either classed as little white or mid white
"white and [colour]"— A non-tortoiseshell with a white patch that is classed as mostly white.
"white"— A cat with the Fullwhite patch, regardless of what colour they are underneath. Overwrites their main colour
This is different to a singlecolour white cat as they have a different pelt type underneath the patch. Fullwhite cats that are tortoiseshell underneath are listed as calico on their profile page, but not the allegiances
"[colour] point"— A cat with one of the point markings
If a cat is a point under the ginger category, they are listed as a flame point
Gender Descriptors
"she-cat"— Female, Trans Female
"tom"— Male, Trans Male
"cat"— All other identities
Extra Descriptors
"vitiligo"— A cat with vitiligo
Missing body parts have special listings, as follows;
"no tail"— NoTail "half a tail"— HalfTail "three legs"— NoPaw "a missing ear"— NoLeftEar, NoRightEar "no ears"— NoEar
Vitiligo and missing body parts are joined together as "vitiligo, [scar], [scar] and [scar]"
"scarred [colour]"— A cat with three or more scars
"long-furred [colour]"— A cat with long fur
Putting it Together
For a non-tortoiseshell with no white patches:
a [extra] [colour] [pattern/tortoiseshell] [white] [gender] with [extra]
You would remove any non-used sections. Examples below;
a long-furred dorsal-striped pale gray tom with vitiligo and three legs
a dark ginger/light brown tortie tabby she-cat
a scarred white and unusually spotted black cat
a long-furred scarred light brown/black mottled point she-cat with no tail, three legs and a missing ear

"I can understand that," Philippe nodded, a sudden movement that caused his short ringlets to bounce atop his head. "I've always been fond of horror stories, but I enjoy a good love story every once in a while, too, especially when it involves horror elements. I've always been fond of delving into a good love story now and then, tales of two lovers fighting against all odds to be together. I've always found it to be very romantic, too.
When I was a boy, I had a favorite fairy tale, too," he admitted, his battered cheeks lighting up as he sheepishly admitted, "It's a rather...unorthodox choice, one I'm sure you've heard of. I first found out about it through one of the story books I was gifted by my family abroad: it's French in origin, but it's become popular here in the States, too.
It's called...'The Beauty and the Beast.'"
Philippe couldn't put his finger on why, but he'd always been far more fond of that particular story than its more mundane counterparts. He couldn't help but root for the titular couple far more than he'd ever rooted for a lady fair and her Prince Charming. Perhaps it had to do with how unlikely of a pair they were, or all of the hurdles they'd had to jump in order to be together, including breaking a curse. They were such an unlikely couple with fate itself seemingly trying to intervene and tear them apart, and yet nothing could keep them from loving one another. It was greatly inspiring in Philippe's eyes: he'd be truly blessed to experience a love like that someday.
@beatingheart-bride
"Funnily enough, it never made me afraid of the water o-or whales o-or anything like that, when I first heard it," Susannah confessed with a small shrug and a smile: She could understand why it would frighten some children upon hearing it, but to her, she never questioned the inherent strangeness of the story, nor did it frighten her the way the tales of the Fae did. She just went along with its fairy tale logic, never giving it a second thought as a child.
"I just...thought it was very...well, very romantic, as a girl," she continued, her tone softening as she brushed a loose black lock of hair from her face as she recalled those childhood days of laying in a patch of sunlight in the living room, laying on her stomach as she reread the tale over and over and over again, always loving that the prince remained so true to Trembling, even when Fair tried to pass herself off as her sister. His putting the sword between them in their marriage bed, noting it would be cold come morning if she were trying to deceive him (and sure enough, it was), to say nothing of his determination in rescuing her from the whale, was so chivalrous and grand to her as a child that she always found her eyes roving over those paragraphs in particular, and those beautiful accompanying illustrations.
(Now that she thought about it, there was something strikingly similar about Philippe and the prince on the page...both in their personalities and in their angelic appearances, blond-haired noblemen who loved fiercely and loyally...)
She was quick to discard this overly-romantic notion, averting her gaze as she tucked the lock back out of her face, saying simply, "It...it was my most favorite fable growing up. Still is, I suppose. I...I enjoyed the love story then, and I...I still do now."
Even if I don't believe in love at first sight... she thought somewhat bitterly to herself.
#theheadlessgroom#hatbox ghost#susannah#RP: Genderbent#(She thinks that I should be her human and no one else's! God forbid anyone else wants my attention!)#(She's a tabby too; funnily enough: I wonder if tabbies can be more possessive by nature?)#(She was the youngest for years up until two years ago; and when a new kitten was introduced;)#(She was PISSED! I think she still holds a grudge against the new cat because she isn't the youngest anymore!)#(And Susannah really is going to be gobsmacked; isn't she?)#(Here she is; probably bracing herself to go home; nervous to walk alone after the previous night's close call)#(And along comes Philippe right as she locks up; claiming he was just in the area)#(And offering to walk her home! She's going to see right through him...but she'll still happily accept!)#(Not only does she not have to worry about being accosted while walking alone;)#(But they can continue their chat from the previous evening!)

Hi!!! This is my kitten, his name is Bugsy!! He has a pretty interesting color I’ve never seen before where he’s black with stripes and a white belly, I was wondering if you know the name for his colors!! I hope this was alright to send :3 thank you!!’
he’s black with low white spotting! he has what’s called ghost tabby markings :) genetically solid but since solid cats still carry the genetic info for tabby patterns some cats can still show the patterning. mostly seen in kittens and often disappears by adulthood!

David: I'll fucking gut you! (x2 while possessing Crystal)
Crystal: Oh my god, why can’t I remember?
Crystal: It's just a stupid fucking name.
Edwin: I'll jot that down in my journal of opinions I do not give a damn about.
Crystal: Jesus, where did he go?
Charles: Piss off, cat.
Tabby Cat: Fuck you. I'm not telling you nothing about that house or the witch inside
Crystal: Oh, Jesus. I'm gonna wait in the bathroom until they leave.

Jenny: Jesus! I thought you were like a meat robber!
Crystal: Which was totally my bad and very screwed up and I should have told you everything.
Crystal: Holy shit. (Edwin tells her about girl turned into small piece of plastic)
Charles: Look Edwin, you're the smart one, and I'm the one who does shit like this.
Esther: Monty! Jesus! I'm trying to threaten some kids!
Crystal: He's still a stalker, still an asshole. But I am going to get my memories back.
Notes:
Both of David’s “I’ll fucking gut you”s are said while possessing Crystal during the subway fight. These were counted under David’s total, and not Crystal’s.
Not Included:
Crystal flips off Edwin in the malt shop
Not a curse, but…
A “Mary Ann” was slang for “an effeminate male homosexual; a young boy used as a catamite in prison.”
Edwin is called this 8 times during his sacrifice: three times by Simon, and then it is chanted an additional five times by all the boys.
Is this a curse? I dunno, I’m not British:
Charles: “Piss off, cat”
Simon: “Give this little prat a proper scare”
UPDATED:
-Updated to include the two British curses above (thanks @cheriebryantsart!) , ‘screw’, and an ‘oh my god’ from Crystal I missed- all charts and text should now be updated and accurate!
- Replaced ‘Uses Per Word’ chart with a version with better labels.

hav u ever looked at the cats in the app neko atsume to see if the colors they're listed as r accurate to real colors? I've been playing the game again and curious about what u think
I didn't know this game, but I looked it up for you, and i think it's fairly accurate in a very stilized way, and has a good and consistent internal logic.
I made a table about the regular cats for you (based on the fandomwiki): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Sxg4lThXmIUZjA3VDcxSmArqqd1AB0_XcMa8N_bvXqY/edit?usp=sharing
The only one I couldn't match with a real color was Peaches.
A few more comment:
We have these two brown cats. I wrote them in as chocolate, but I think they are a little too light for it (or for cinnamon), especially Cocoa. Eh.
Then there's Maple, who has brown stripes but called "Orange and White Bullseye". I identified it as chocolate silver tabby, it clearly uses the same color as all the other chocolate cats:
(I made the white-background tabbies silvers which is a very gracious assumption, but i think it works within the logic of this color simplification system.)
We have a brown tabby and a black tabby which should be the same color. But I think the latter is pretty close a black smoke, and I regularly see smokes with ghost patterns being called tabbies, so this could solve this contradiction.
Pepper is a little unfortunate, i think a white heterochromic cat would've been better.
Honestly my biggest problem is with the tortoiseshell tabbies: we have three, and one of them has different stripe colors (correct), but for the other two they just slapped the black stripes over both backgrounds. Why couldn't they do the same for them?

Month 14 - Newleaf
Now that the nausea was behind her, Mystique was starting to enjoy pregnancy again. It wasn’t as nice as the first time, obviously, what with her being stranded in the wild territories away from her Folk, but there were perks. For one, she got her pick of the prey and plenty of it. Whenever Russetfrond would get after her for being “gluttonous”, she would remind him she was eating for three and that would shut down any kind of argument. She couldn’t tell for sure, but it seemed like he was putting in extra hunting trips just for her which was nice.
As well, she had been able to use her growing stomach as an excuse to stop running combat drills with the Clan cats. Despite their attempts to keep it from her, she had inevitably learned about their plans to murder Razor and she wasn’t going to have any part in that. True, he wasn’t a good cat, she had come to accept that, but that didn’t mean they had to kill him. Still, Scorch in particular seemed insistent that it was the only option and she had a powerful hold over Goldenstar, or so it seemed.
Mystique often turned her options over in her head while she sunbathed, trying to think of an alternative solution, one where no one else died and she got to go home as soon as possible. She always came up short. When it came down to it, she was just one cat. What could she do? So she tried not to think about it and focused on getting plenty of food and rest.
Today, she was resting on top of the warriors’ den in a warm beam of sunlight, idly watching the goings on. Oddstripe and Aldertail were sharing tongues in the shade. Scorch finished talking with Goldenstar in hushed voices then joined Pantherhaze, Slatepaw, and Fogpaw as they headed out of camp. The little white tabby jumped in excitement, making Mystique laugh. It was strange to see a cat that looked so much like Ghost moving with that kind of energy instead of stomping around like an old curmudgeon.
The new kitten, Lake, padded out of the nursery and stretched with a big yawn. Aldertail looked up and waved her over with a smile.
Oddstripe grinned too and called, “Afternoon, Lake! How are you feeling?”
“Lots better!” Lake purred, padding over to them. “Those weird plants you gave me helped lots!” She was looking better too. Her ribs were slightly less visible under her fur, her coat glossier. Mystique had never seen a kitten look so poorly before. It was reassuring to see her improving so quickly.
“Aren’t they something?” Aldertail chuckled. “Are you hungry?”
“Oh, yeah,” nodded Lake. “Starving!”
“I’ll grab you something,” said Aldertail, jumping to her paws.
“Gee, thanks miss!” the kitten said as if it were a rare wonder. Oddstripe smiled and pulled the kitten close to give her a few licks around the ears. She giggled and sat up tall to let him. Aldertail quickly returned with a bird from the prey pile and the two adults sat back and watched as the kitten tucked into it voraciously. Mystique caught them glancing at each other when they thought the other wasn’t looking. It made her skin crawl, just a little, which she felt guilty for.
She stood, hoping to get away for a bit and put them out of mind. She noticed Aldertail stiffening when she did, eyes darting over like Mystique was about to lunge for her, claws bared. She groaned under her breath and started out into the grass.
“Uh, Mystique, hold up,” called Sparrowpaw who was on guard duty. “Where are you going?” She’d nearly forgotten he was there.
“For a walk,” she shrugged, “I just want to be… away from here.”
“Well, I’ll come with you,” he said. It was a statement of fact, not an offer. She sighed. He was like a smaller, more pleasant Russetfrond.
“Fine, whatever,” she sighed. “I’m going to the river.”
“Alright,” Sparrowpaw said. “That’s okay.” She lashed her tail.
“I know,” she growled. “I wasn’t asking.” Back home, no one treated her this way. No one ever told her what she was and wasn’t allowed to do. Sure, Razor had jobs for her every now and then but those were things that needed to be done, not arbitrary restrictions on her free time. She was sick of it.
Sparrowpaw blinked in surprise but said nothing - a victory for her. She made her way briskly towards the river, not worrying about her long strides out pacing her smaller companion. Her back was starting to ache and all she could think about was dunking herself in some cool, fresh water.
When they reached the river, she slipped into the water without hesitation, sighing in relief at the sense of weightlessness. She rolled over to make sure all of her fur was doused thoroughly then threw her head back to get the water out of her eyes as she came up for air. She hummed pleasantly and looked over to see her chaperone hovering near the bank.
“Come on in,” she said, jerking her head in invitation. “The water’s great.”
“I’m alright,” said Sparrowpaw, settling down. “You really enjoy getting wet?”
“Yeah,” she rolled her eyes. “It’s literally the best. I don’t know why so many cats are scared of it.”
“It’s not… scary,” he said, “just really unpleasant.”
“Weirdo!” Mystique called, easing herself down into the shallows to let the water flow over her.
“Maybe,” Sparrowpaw laughed awkwardly. They sat there in silence for a good, long while. Mystique closed her eyes and tilted her face to the sun and just let herself enjoy the moment. She tried not to think about home or her Folk or her brother.
“Can I ask you a question?” said Sparrowpaw at one point.
“Sure,” she shrugged.
“Have you considered maybe staying after the kittens are born?” he asked. “Like, joining the Clan full time?”
“No,” Mystique said flatly. “No, I’m going back home the first chance I get.”
“Why?” asked Sparrowpaw.
“Uh, ‘cause it sucks out here?” she said. “You don’t know any better cause this is all you’ve ever seen, but being Exalted is a million times better than living out in the dirt and the heat. I get free food any time I want it. I have a soft bed and lots of great toys and it's always the perfect temperature inside. My Folk give me tons of attention and pets. Have you ever been pet before? It's the best.” She glanced over her shoulder at Sparrowpaw to find him looking unconvinced.
“I haven’t,” he said. “But don’t you think you would enjoy the freedom of living out here? There's satisfaction in hunting for your food and supporting your Clan.” He seemed so earnest, it was almost sad.
“No thanks,” Mystique snorted. “Not interested.”
He frowned. “I mean, if you stayed, maybe you and Russetfrond could stay together. I’m sure that you could make up if -”
“Look, kid,” she rolled over to look at him head on. “I don’t really care about trying to ‘make up’ with Bee Face Mc Pouterson.” Sparrowpaw’s ears pressed back against his head. “He was a bit of fun, nothing more than that. Honestly, he’s not even really my type, I was just bored.”
“O-oh,” Sparrowpaw swallowed. He looked pale. Mystique sighed. Maybe she had been too hard on the poor boy. Or maybe she’d traumatized him with her casual language. Clearly, these wild cats didn’t know how sex worked.
“What I mean to say is, it’s fine,” she said, swiping a wet paw over her face to cool it off. “I’ll have the kits and then go home. He’s happy, I’m happy, win-win.”
“Right,” Sparrowpaw said. “I guess we’ll just have to hope things go well.”
Mystique squinted. “You mean with the plan to kill my brother.”
Sparrowpaw paled further. “Uh, yeah, I guess. I thought you didn’t know about that.”
“I’m not dumb kid,” she said, “plus the camp is small. Sound travels.”
“Right…” He looked down at his paws, tail curling around them. “I’m sorry. I wish it didn’t have to be this way.”
“Why does it?” Mystique sat up a little taller. “Why can’t we just, like, talk to him?”
“Because we tried that,” Sparrowpaw said, looking up at her. “He killed Smokyrose.”
Mystique’s voice caught in her throat in a frustrated lump. “That was… That was an extreme circumstance,” she said. “It wouldn’t happen again.”
“You have to know that’s not true, right?” Sparrowpaw said earnestly. “I mean, he’s your brother. How can you not see what he’s like?”
“You don’t know him!” snapped Mystique, slapping one paw loudly against the surface of the water. Sparrowpaw flinched at the noise and she briefly felt guilty but she shoved the feeling down. “He’s my brother. He’s not a monster.”
“Sorry,” Sparrowpaw swallowed. “I shouldn’t have said anything.”
Mystique sighed, a deep frown creasing her face. He almost sounded like Aldertail. It made the Shadow Truth wriggle deep in her gut, worming its way closer to her conscious mind. She dunked her head under the water to try and get away from the feeling but even the cold shock didn’t help much. She sighed, stood, and shook out her pelt, spattering the sand with droplets.
“I think I’m done,” she grumbled and headed back to camp to sulk.

I redid the parkour boys designs! I’m really proud of them.
I’m especially proud of Evbo’s. I think the yellows and greens really complimented each other. I had the idea for swirls in his coat pattern and couldn’t resist, though I did have to remove one on his back to avoid his design looking cluttered.
I also made him look very small both via proportions and by making him visibly skinny. I think he’s a little smaller than the average parkour pro. If you saw my earlier post, you’d know that I think he gains a fair bit of weight after the first movie.
EMF on the other hand was meant to be big. Imposing and solid. His base was originally a much darker gray but I kept it like this. So you could draw him as a ghost tabby if you want. I like how his pelt has a drippy oozy look to it as well as the smoke tail.
Btw I am moving all non Undertale content to @axelsapothecary ! Currently I am talking about Mouthwashing, so beware spoilers, but you can bring up anything about WCPKCiv if you want!
…Should the AU be called ParkourClan?

Flowers In the Park, Flowers By Your Bedside
Alright loves, I haven't been here in a while. I'm sorry ♡
Can't promise to be more active, but I can promise a little something.
Keeping in mind I wrote this before MWIII dropped, so this might be my last cute thing before Makarov brainrot takes over (kidding ♡)
Content Warning: Implied Major Character Injury, which includes major angst with a (somewhat) happy ending I will be writing some other time. Please, accept this peace offering for the time being.
Soap didn't remember how he got there, in his favorite park, in the middle of such a sunny day, with busy people and chatter all over him, everywhere. But who was he to question some well-deserved peace and quiet? He sat down, sketchbook in hand, and let his mind and hand wander.
After a couple of minutes and another line down, he could already picture the whole drawing in his head.
Simon.
Sweet, loving Simon Riley.
There was no one Soap loved more, or cared for in this world, than he did Simon. He was all Soap could think about, sleeping or awake.
He sketched down a few more lines, getting the feel of his partner's mask before he got carried away with drawing his eyes. Always so beautiful, so full of life.
As he focused on his little sketch, a shadow blocked over the sun. Soap knitted his eyebrows together, about to pout in annoyance when he lifted his head up, the anger melting into a bright smile.
“Simon!” He chirped, happy to see him. The corners of Ghost's eyes moved, he smiled back.
"Listen, Johnny…” He scratched his neck, looking away, which Soap always found so cute of him. “I know I'm not a good example. Or a good man. Or good at anything other than killing. But I want to be better. You make me want to be better. For you."
Soap blinked, raising an eyebrow at Ghost. The vibrant green of the park's grass swayed in the gentle breeze, and the distant laughter of children playing echoed in his ears.
'What does he mean?' He thought, not understanding why his Lieutenant sounded so hurt. Did something happen? The scent of freshly bloomed flowers filled the air, and Soap couldn't help but feel at peace. He was at peace.
"What do you mean, Simon?"
"You might be confused, yeah... I would be too." Ghost looked down, fumbling with the fabric of his mask. The sun made his hair look much blondier than it was usually, and Soap's heart skipped a beat. There he was, sitting on a weathered bench in his favorite park, getting to listen to Simon's ramblings as much as he wanted.
Just like in a dream.
"It's okay." He smiled. The warm sun rays caressed his face. "I don't need to understand you."
Ghost's chuckle sounded distant, like an echo from another world. It… didn't quite make sense.
"You've always been too good for me, you know." He reached out, hand gently brushing against Soap's cheek, which made him jump a little, like he wasn't used to it. The gentle touch felt surreal, like a phantom's caress.
“What's wrong, LT?" Soap was starting to get a little worried. "What... what happened?"
"I'm not letting you down ever again." Ghost continued, thumb running down Soap's face, resting on his lips. So gentle, but so light. "I promise I'll keep you safe next time."
Soap's eyes widened. He lifted a hand, fingers wrapping around Ghost's, expecting a reaction. Any reaction.
He got nothing.
"Simon?" He called out, his voice a mixture of confusion and slight panic.
"When you wake up, Johnny...” Ghost's voice was distant again. “Know I will be here for you.”
He smiled down at Soap once again, hand retreating no matter how much the other wanted him to keep it there. He had no strength to stop Ghost at all.
“Wait…” He whispered, watching the love of his life walk away. “Please, don't go…”
•••
The faint bip of machinery was anxiety-inducing. Ghost's jaw snapped shut. They told him Johnny would wake up in a couple of weeks or so. Maybe less if he was strong. He knew Soap was. Knew his Sergeant well.
He only wished that Soap was awake, so he could share his regrets with him.
Let him down again. Just like in Las Almas. But he would fix this.
There was not going to be a next time.
He moved his hand towards Soap again, holding his fingers tightly, eyes closed.
“You know I love you… don't you, Johnny?”
For both of their sakes.
“Yes, I do.” Soap replied, his tone soft as he held Ghost's hand back. Maybe Simon didn't realize it yet… but he would be fighting this fight. And he would win.

~~~~
Three months without your boyfriend.
Your eyes scanned the new book you bought, 'Psycho by Robert Bloch'. It was a good book. 'I think everybody goes a little crazy sometimes' Norman bates said in the book. It was a line you related to heavily, especially when Simon went out on his missions. You were left all alone with your cat, Eleanor. Although, she was an adorable, orange tabby cat she reminded you of Simon since he bought her for you. Everything in this house reminded you of Simon. Half of the stuff in the living room he had bought because he'd rather gift you something than hug which you understood because he had opened up a tiny bit about his past and it seemed traumatic. Simon gifted you the most lavish things to equal the amount of times he wanted to hug you but couldn't due to his past. It was sad to think he had to buy your hugs but you appriciated the gesture.
~~~
"Right, I haven't had the chance to tell her that you lot are coming so if she freaks out don't worry." Simon grumbles.
The rest of the group nodded. Price was sitting in the drivers seat with Gaz beside him, they were both chatting about how the mission went while Simon and Soap were sitting at the back. For once, Simon showed some emotion. Nervousness. His leg was bouncing and his fist kept clenching and unclenching.
"You alright L.T?" Soap piped up, looking at his obviously anxious supervisor. Simon nodded.
"I hope she's doing alright." Simon stared at Soap with that stoic expression. Price and Gaz stopped talking and Price turned his head a little, keeping his eyes on the road.
"I'm sure she's fine. From what you've told us she can put up a fight so if something was to happen she'd be cool as a cucumber." Price smiled, trying to lighten the mood. Simon grimaced at the last part of his sentence but Price wasn't wrong. You knew Taekwando and you were flexible. Simon was shocked the first time you showed him how to do a backbend and that beautiful arch your back made that caused him to feel-
"Yeah, Ghost. She seems really nice. I've heard her while you two were on call. It's funny really. She sounds so sweet and bubbly and you-" Gaz stopped himself. "Well..." He trailed off when he saw Price shaking his head at him.
"He means that you two are polar opposites." Soap chimes in. "But you know what they say." He nudged Simon as if he already knew what he was going to say. "Opposites attract."
"Fucking hell." Simon let out a deep sigh. "Are we almost there?" He sounded impatient.
"Just around the corner, mate." Price reassured.
~~~
There was a knock at the door.
You poked your head from your book, folding the page over and stepping off the couch. You sighed. It could be Simon, then again it could be your SHEIN order that was due to arrive yesterday. You walked over to the door and opened it, gasping when you see your boyfriend, Simon.
"Simon!" You smile, stepping forward. Simons breath hitches and you notice this so you take a step back. He feels guilty. He had just been gone for three months and he's too scared to embrace his own girlfriend of 4 years? No. He won't let his fears get to him. Not when he's just left you for so long. Simon steps forward, pulling you close to him and hugging you. His arms stretched around your waist and he rested his face in the crook of your neck, you heard him inhale your perfume.
You were too distracted about the fact that Simon is hugging you that you don't realise his friends were here. You lifted your head to see them awkwardly looking away. "Simon, you never told me you brought your friends." You laughed when he pulled away, you could see the embarrassment in his eyes when he realised he had dived into your arms infront of his boss and co-workers.
"Yeah." He shuffled to the side and they all met your eyes. You smiled and waved and they did the same, mumbling some "hi's" and "hello's". "This is Soap."
"I believe he prefers-." Gaz speaks.
"Pipe down." Soap interrupts him.
Simon gave Soap a harsh pat on the back and Soap gave him a dirty look. He points to Price and Gaz. "Thats Price, my captain and Gaz."
"Oh, its so nice to meet you all. Come in, i'll get you all something to drink if you'd like.
"Um.. alright then." Price smiled back and entered, Gaz and Soap followed close behind and Ghost shut the door.
"I'm gluten free, by the way." Gaz says, looking around your massive living room. It has cat toys everywhere and Gaz nudges Soap. "They have a cat." He whispers and Soap looks thrilled, his head darts around in search for the feline.
While your in the kitchen making the men something to drink, they all settle down on the couch. Eleanor walks in and nuzzles against Ghost's leg. He leans over and pets her, scratching behind her ear. Soap looks in awe. "You never told us you have a cat." He scolds Ghost.
"You never asked." Ghost mumbled, picking Eleanor up and stroking her soft fur. "I missed you, Ellie." He whispers and holds the cat like a baby, loud purrs from Eleanor filled the room.
"Can I hold her?" Gaz asked, peeking over Soap's shoulder to look at the tabby cat.
"Me too, please." Soap asked, feeling his heart melt when Ghost placed Eleanor on Soap's lap. "Oh my god, who's a good kitty?" He says in a baby voice as Eleanor stretched across him and Gaz's lap. Their hands eagerly petting the cats fur.
You return with a tray of coca colas in bottles. "I made sure it was gluten free." You laugh and take a seat in an armchair. "I see Ellie has taken a liking to you both."
"Is that her name?" Gaz asked, looking up at you for a moment before sipping his cola and petting the kitten.
"Well, she's actually called Eleanor but me and Simon just call her Ellie." You smile.
"How old is she?" Price asked, scratching Eleanor's chin, smiling down at her. She purred away peacefully.
"Um.." You glanced at Simon who held up 3 fingers. "She's 3. She's a tabby cat so i'm just glad they don't grow too big."
Price nodded. "She's adorable. Be careful though, Soap and Gaz might want to steal her from you. They love animals." Gaz and Soap didn't even look up from the cat but they nodded. Eleanor let out a meow and they both went 'Aww'. "How long have you two lived together?"
"2 years I think. My dad left most of the inheritance to me so I asked Simon if he wanted to move in with me. And now we're here." You shrugged and Price nodded.
~~~
After about 2 hours of talking and joking Price checked his watch. "We should go now. Gaz and Soap have training tomorrow." He lifted up Eleanor from his lap and placed her on the couch. "Thank's for having us." Price smiled.
"Thanks." Gaz said with a smile before giving Eleanor a scratch on the chin. Soap did the same and nodded.
"Bye, you'll have to come over again!" You waved them off, shutting the door when they drive off. You re-enter the living room and sit beside Simon. "They seem lovely." You look up at him.
"You haven't known them as long as I have." Simon chuckled darkly, his arm hesitantly reaching over your shoulder and hooking around to pull you close to him. He looked down at you.
"So.. do you want to order a take-away or do you want to go out?" You nestled your cheek against the side of his chest.
"Can we stay here?" He asked, sinking into the couch. "Like how we are now. I don't want to let you go."
"Okay, Simon." You nod and smile. And he didn't let you go. He made sure you fell asleep and woke up in his arms.

Hello Greer!
I’m a long-time foster who recently came into possession of half a litter of nine kittens— at eight weeks old they’re EXTREMELY neonatal (the biggest ones are around 20 ounces) and I suspect there are multiple fathers given the wide array of colors. I was wondering if you could guess what their dads looked like! You don’t have to, of course, it’s just idle curiosity on my part.
(Kittens from three weeks ago, with their mother.)
(Kittens from yesterday when we took our half of the litter).
There are two Siamese (one seal point, one tabby point), one black, one spotted tabby, one mackerel tabby, a third grey tabby whose markings I don’t know, and three solid greys.
We think there was at least two fathers, one to explain the coloration of the black kitten and one to explain the Siamese. Is it possible there was only one? Or even three?
(As a tax, here’s the smallest and most Belephegor-like kitten. At eight weeks old, I swear she felt like less than a pound! All the smallest ones are staying with their mom and the old foster.)
hmm.....there might just be the one father?
let's start with the mother: she's shorthaired, dilute black, agouti but carries the recessive for solid-coloured (since she has solid kittens), mackerel tabby but carries the recessive for classic tabby, non-pointed but carries point.
now if there's just the one father, he could be shorthaired, black but carries dilute, agouti but carries solid (OR just pure solid), ticked tabby but carries the recessive for classic tabby, non-pointed but carries pointing. in other words, a guy that looks like this:
or this:
HOWEVER there might also be the silver/inhibitor gene at play, given the unusual look of this kitten in the back.
though that could also be a fever-coat, which would mean the kitten will eventually grow out of it and look solid-coloured.
if the kitten does have a silver undercoat and ghost striping that doesn't fade with age, then it's a smoke (which is what silver is called in sold-coloured cats), which would mean the father is a silver ticked tabby:
or a black smoke, with a ticked ghost pattern:
the litter could all be explained by one father, but that doesn't mean there aren't multiple. in any case, they're a batch of very cute and colourful kittens!
#EDIT: it's also possible that the father was pointed instead of just carrying pointing#but if that were the case I'd expect a higher ratio of pointed kittens#given how the numbers worked out it's more likely that he was agouti and non-pointed
