Wow it's been.... a while... since I last did fanart, huh? Well, anyway, time for the father-daughter/sibling???? duo of all time, Floodstrike and Lakepaw (RIP sweetie, I'm still not over you)!

I decided to finally draw them in my style for Reasons TM (*cough* I might have something... ambitious... brewing, if I can get my animation program to work *cough*)

When you said there was a death I was like "it might be Ospreymask my fav but I'm ready to let her go if it's her time" I WAS NOT EXPECTING LAKEPAW NOR SAGETOOTH AT ALL

Haha I'm glad it didn't feel like Lakepaw had too many death flags on her. I fell behind and had tp do some development on her and Floods relationship fast before things happened and I feel like some people definitely got the sense she was about to die. Its good to hear it wasnt completely obvious haha

its always fun reading clangen blogs and seeing events that would have caused me to quit without saving, haha. lakepaw dying would definitely have been a nope from me!

Yeah, it was definitely rough but I also didn't care about Lakepaw as much then as I do now. Most of the cats in RisingClan were just cute sprites. Even characters like Scorchplume who I thought were really pretty weren't that interesting to me until I started writing them. The only time I really felt the need to "fix" my save was later on where a specific cat who had been really beat down died unceremoniously and I said "no that's not fair, they should get to live".

There is also the plus though that I know anything that hurts me is gonna hurt you guys way more (in a good way) ;3c

im so... oh my god this update BURNED MY CROPS... im gonna miss sagetooth and lakepaw so much :< i can only imagine how hard its going to be for oddstripe and floodstrike rn, losing such important cats to them, but they have support all around them... itll all be okay. lakepaw trying to reach sagetooth as she was already dead and floodstrike crying about how they killed his little girl absolutely tore my heart out. you continue to be such an amazingly masterful emotional storyteller and i remain excited to see where this all goes... rest in peace sage and lake i love u kitties

The Clan will go on without Sagetooth and Lakepaw but they will always be missed <3

To be perfectly honest, even if Lakepaw DID have biological relatives sure up, I doubt they or we would even know. As far as I can tell, she was either abandoned or orphaned when her mother vanished, and her father hasn't been mentioned. She could even be in Ghost's lineage for all we know, whether as a daughter, granddaughter, or however many greats is feasible given his age, considering how quickly a new generation of cats can be produced irl.

It's unlikely that any biological relatives she does have left remember her, and if they did, that would think to check if the recently deceased RisingClan apprentice matches the description of a missing chaff kitten.

Very well said, I don't have much to add! She's just one kit in the city who went missing, that happens all the time.

Some real meta analysis coming through. I think we are gonna meet a relative of Lakepaw at some point in the future. You had to update her design to add some white in order for her to be genetically accurate, which immediately made me think she would have kits with white on them in the future. Since that possibility is out (I’m still so devastated about her death WAH), it makes me wonder why you had to add white to her. Some LakeKin appearing in the future (parents, siblings, littermates?) is the only reason I can think of!

I'm pretty sure I said, in an ask around the time I posted that redesign, that only cats with white on them can have blue eyes and that was why I needed to redesign her. It was either that or change her eye color. She was being changed to be genetically accurate with herself.

At this point, I have no plans to bring in any of Lakepaw's relatives. There's a chance that may change but I doubt it. Sorry to disappoint haha

Aww, thank you!! That's a big complement and I really appreciate it.

As far as Lakepaw's warrior name, I don't have one planned since she did die prematurely. Usually, I try to name my warriors after something to do with their personality or accomplishments in story and she hadn't really done anything yet to earn a warrior name.
