There’s no posting, no teasing photos. Nothing like Season 1 or 2, but this isn’t like those Seasons, is it?

The “leaked” photos, Michaels interaction with fans. NG posting photos, music, thoughts. The creators behind the scenes that bring this world we love so dearly, so desperately, to life. No, this isn’t remotely anything like it was. It never will be.

The Pratchett Estate and Rob Wilkins fought HARD to get this 90 minutes from Amazon to finish the story started over 3 decades ago, that was Sir Pratchetts dying wish. For that I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL.

People have been distancing from anything NG related as soon as the disturbing allegation(s) came out. We are, IMHO, so blessed and lucky that Rhianna and Rob didn’t. So lucky that Michael and David didn’t.

So lucky that the love we share with them of Good Omens is stronger than one man’s choices and actions.

Good Omens isn’t just a story anymore. It has become a part of our lives. Of our minds. Of our hearts. It has helped so many of us at a time in our lives that we needed something and someone to love, to laugh with, to cry with, to live for.

All the characters in this story live with us, within us. But let’s be very, very honest, our deepest desire is to see these two beautiful souls find the peace and happiness they so much deserve. The happiness and peace we wish for ourselves, for others we have met on this journey.

The stories created, the art that takes your breath away with its angst, love, desire and depth. These will live on forever. These all belong to Us.

Making a lot more "analytical" posts concerning RttE because I've been watching a lot of episodes again lately. Today I was watching the Maces & Talons two-parter and thinking about all the times Astrid has picked Hiccup up emotionally/mentally whenever he's feeling down and how we see Hiccup do the same thing.

Like in the two-parter, Heather and Windshear get captured and Astrid is completely distraught, stating how they should've pulled Heather out of her undercover mission long ago. But if you remember earlier in the season the entire reason why Heather didn't want Hiccup to know is that he would've tried to pull Heather out, whether she would've wanted to be or not.

But then in the two-parter, when Astrid says that they should've gotten Heather out a long time ago, it's Hiccup who assures her that Heather wouldn't have allowed them to.

And then another example that I can think of is when Astrid lets her love for Garff blind her into taking him along on a mission, despite Hiccup's very reasonable objections. She must've twisted his arm somehow, because the very next scene Garff is with them on a mission to stop Krogan from capturing more Singetails.

Cut to a little later, Garff is in trouble and Astrid feels guilty about not listening and having brought him along. Once again, it's Hiccup who assures her and reminds her that the final decision to bring Garff was still his.

For a third one we have to go way back in the series, to Astrid's A-team episode. Because Astrid, though she's keeping up her tough exterior, gets told by Hiccup almost immediately what's really going on when she's so extra tough on Gustav and the rest of the A-team.

Astrid is scared of leaving her family and tribe unguarded again, for which Hiccup reminds her that she can't be there to defend her family every second of every day for the rest of their lives. And while Astrid doesn't really respond well to those words, you can see that they still affect her because she knows he's right.

I don't know what this post is about. Probably about how Hiccup comforts and supports Astrid as much as she does him.

it's so wild to me that you absolutely cannot force a hyperfixation to happen. like you'll watch the most perfectly tailor-made-for-you content that everyone says you'll love and feel absolutely nothing, and then the thing you watch on a whim to fill time will reach through the screen and put its damn fingers in your brain and start rearranging the neurons right in front of you and every single time you're like THIS??? Fun Story to Share.

I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.

Well - she got this email this morning:

The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.

Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).

Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.

i think we've done a great job expanding the view of what a child's favorite animal can be. kids these days can say they love axolotls or pangolins or coelecanths and their decision is respected. maybe their parents can even find them a stuffed animal of it if they know where to look. and i think that's beautiful

I think one big reason why we don't consider the stars as important as before (not even pop-astrology anymore cares about the stars or the sky on itself, just the signs deprived of context) is because of light pollution.

For most of human history the sky looked between 1-3, 4 at most. And then all of a sudden with electrification it was gone (I'm lucky if I get 6 in my small city). The first time I saw the Milky Way fully as a kid was a spiritual experience, I was almost scared on how BRIGHT it was, it felt like someone was looking back at me. You don't get that at all with modern light pollution.

When most people talk about stargazing nowadays they think about watching about a couple of bright dots. The stars are really, really not like that. The unpolluted night sky is a festival of fireworks. There is nothing like it.

i love adhd. i have a lot to do at work today. i take my meds. i open the word document. i immediately misspell “benzodiazepines.” i go on tumblr to post “benzodiazepenis….” for the mutualés. and then it’s 45 minutes later and ive caught up on tumblr and checked the weather and read a fic and texted an ex and ordered new pens and looked up a recipe for chicken pot pie and posted about adhd and done zero work.
