6. A scene you struggled with

Welp I didn't particularly struggle with it if we're talking about writing skills, but writing the moment when Joel was inside a loop where Ellie dies and he ended his life to reset it was... too emotional charged, and it took -100 years off my life, then I followed it with Tess dying too, because @clairenovaking and I terrorized the old man too much.

Loop fic was a beast and I'm proud of it, always recommend it and comments/thoughts/yells in the box are welcome 🫶🏼

7. Comfort character to create for

By all means and motives she should NOT be anyone's comfort character bc she's wicked and wretched and mean and a criminal.

But your honor I love her I love Tess <3 she's extremely underutilized, so I have to take matters into hands.

Sometimes, she gets more trauma, but hey, this is all with love. I swear. Sometimes, she gets a second chance and a good life. Sometimes, she doesn't get apocalypse trauma and just normal life, regular if you will, and sometimes there's none! She's happy and well. Tess means too much to me and if she's going to appear in MY brain one way or another.

8. Most challenging character to write or draw

Maria??? I think I have a more clear view of what's up with Tommy since he had more screen time in the game, which is the version I'm familiar with, but even in the show I think I need to wait for s2 to see how they handle them! Tess and Joel are easy to write because I've been shipping them for far longer.

Don't get me wrong, she's so interesting, and I know there are endless possibilities of what to do with her, yet I feel like I'll get her wrong and don't give her justice.

My favorite Maria is melforbes' patching up so that's the fanon/lore I accept and how I imagine she is. But that's the game version, though.

18. Do you title your fics before during or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

More often than not it's while I'm writing the title will happen with a few exceptions. Like Do Not Disturb was based of the song of the same title so it needed to be named that. Titles are hard. I probably only really like half of mine.

21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer on a story.

Most definitely.

29. What's your revision or editing process like?

In general, as I'm writing when I open the doc back up to add to it I will reread back a bit, not the whole thing depending on how long it is and I might edit or change something then as I continue past that point. When I think the story is finished I'll reread the whole thing. If it's chaptered each chapter gets one more once over when it's posted.

Fic Writer Asks

Not much is changing now. Most of the big things have already happened. Now it's just little changes. Changes in height, claw length, tail fur...

Four more months left, but from here on out, it's really not much, just finishing out the doses and making sure the full effect happens, and then the follow up with the doc... I have a few questions for him, especially if I find out how the "HRT" actually works. Maybe I'll go to my work's lab... Run some tests...

SKUNK FACT! I'll give you two, since I fell asleep while posting month 6 and didn't actually get a fact in yesterday!

Skunk fact 1: Skunks have some wicked long claws for digging. What are they digging for? Well, that's how they make their burrows to sleep in when they're all eepy... I'm sure they dig up food and bugs and stuff to eat as well.

Skunk fact 2! Skunks are actually rather peace loving and aren't very aggressive! If they are about to spray, they give ample warning first, by stamping their feet and doing a hand-stand, but if a skunk is approaching you, it's probably just super curious about you, or doesn't feel the need to move too much out of your way to get to where it's going... Or it just doesn't see you. They do have poor eyesight after all.

Really says something about the dire state of offerings for men interested in sewing their own clothes that even searching things like "interesting men's clothing patterns" brings up articles with links to four or five whole websites that primarily offer admittedly nice but practically identical patterns for making button-ups and work pants and maybe a varsity/bomber jacket if you're lucky.

(Branching out into historical costuming for everyday wear is like your one shot at variation, and even then, the ratio of men's to women's patterns on every website is frustrating to say the least.)

Patternmakers as a trans man I am begging you. Give me a little more to work with here.

2. Something I WANT to read. Well I have a small pile of tbr on my shelves but the oldest keeps making me stop trying to get through those and read things they want me to. Not that I don't end up liking them but I got two of these books LAST Christmas and I still haven't read them.

Chain of Thorns - Casandra Clare (gotta be in the mood and have time for this cause she will suck me in and I will do little to nothing but read it till it's done)

Renegades by Marissa Meyer - I really loved the Lunar Chronicles and want to check this out.

The Chalice of the Gods - Rick Riordan - I need to reread them all but I will probably give into reading this before that.

5. Something I'm looking forward to. - There's nothing on the calendar at the moment I'm excited about. I have a friend that's hopefully gonna visit some time in October. Haven't seen her in a year. (we're about 3 hours away)

17. Tell us about your favorite character. - Hmmm I'm gonna go really old school with this one with Mara Jade. She's an OC Star Wars character first appearance in Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. I just LOVED her. She was a badass jedi and eventually ended up married to Luke. I stopped reading those books when they killed Chewie so I don't know what happened to her in the long run.
