i think i find comfort in vashwood because of their unwillingness to say outloud how they care and love for one another. like CANONLY, theres so, so much they dont say, yet their actions reflect everything.

i’m pretty sure i’ve spoke on this before but i like to think that they never say more than they need to because of the world they live in, the type of people they are, the type of upbringings theyve had. it all stems back to them not really feeling worthy of the love they are offered.

wolfwood who only thinks of himself as some fucked up modified killing machine and that he believes theres no chance someone as kind hearted as vash would see the good in him, or what little there is left of the good in him. he’s done nothing but kill, he could never redeem himself, and yet vash isn’t scared nor shuns him for it even with his pacifistic ideals.

vash who has seen the brutal truth of wolfwood’s being and still decides he loves him to the very end.

vash who doesnt believe he deserves any ounce of love or commitment because he only hurts those he gets close to. it’s happened before and itll happen again, like hes a walking time bomb and everything will blow up again and the people close to him will die no matter what he does. and wolfwood who canonly sticks beside him until the end! literally calls himself his guide.

vash who has never had true companionship in his 150 years of living, and wolfwood who follows him to the ends of gunsmoke.

just up until vol10, theyre still toeing the line of the relationship theyve created. but the exact moment vash shows up and chooses to prioritize wolfwood over going after knives (the fucking thing he’s been working towards since the big fall, over a hundred years ago) is the moment he steps past that line. its so extremely open and explicit, even wolfwood asks him ‘why are you here?”

while what he says here is true yes, it also sounds like “you cannot die, i’m here to ‘save’ you because i want to live.”

then to this when wolfwood knows and accepts he will die— the sheer HORROR on vash’s face when he realizes wolfwood wont allow him to save him.

few pages ahead, vash’s monologue starts and these old panels come up. “deep down, he had become very close to me.” basically implying that back then, during the ‘shoot’ moment, they weren’t really close. and when vash accused him: “you’re the coward here.”, “you give up all hope so easily”, it was almost surface level in a way? talking to him at surface level

but now, so many chapters later when wolfwood really does give up hope, vash, with all of his developed love through out the story realizes how differently he feels now. wolfwood made him put a fucking gun to his head (giving up hope), and vash who only scolded and accused him, vs vol10 where when wolfwood gives up hope, vash feels straight terror, that he’s really going to lose him. (also the inverted panel is just so gorgeous.)

the whole “isnt that right, wolfwood?” just proves my entire point that vash’s presence here in this fight steps over the line of vulnerability they had created. he knows how he feels, and he knows that wolfwood feels the same, even if hes speaking to him indirectly.

story summary⋆𐙚₊˚ your vigilante hero that has been gone for month suddenly knocks on your window on a stormy night, hoping to mend your strained relationship.

Its been months since he left and you still cant wrap your head around it, sometimes you go into his room expecting to see im sitting at his desk—writing in his notebook as usual. But all that theres been is a chilly breeze that meets you when you open the door to his cold room and the letters he left for you.

Foolishly waiting for him to come back..

Its the weekend you’d gone home just to be met with the same cold breeze, same thing as always, parents out on business. Doing your same routine as usual, taking a shower, eating dinner, and turing on the news to see the green flashes of lighting across the city of a certain vigilante. Texts, calls go unanswered— hopelessly expecting an answer every time it shows hes in your area but to no avail. 

Its late—you turn off the tv and decide to start on homework till you hear thuds on your back porch 'probably just someone doing some construction’ you thought going back to your work.

Three knocks on the window..

They took you by surprise—you slowly walk up to the back window, it was to dark to see anything but hints of red.

“Hello...hello who is it?” nothing but a knock on the window again, slowly creeping up to the window to see the shiny reflection of metal and hints on green…it cant be?

You open the window—and there he was, you just paused to process this ‘no way this cant be real’ you reach your hand to bring him inside. Soaked in rain, dirt, blood and his eyes covered by his hood. 

“Hi y/n”

His voice had gotten deeper—almost as if you would hear the hurt he had gone through, “h-hi izuku” your voice was almost shaken ” may i?” you point to his hood, he noods. His hood which was once a green color had now turned dark, with cuts and stains all over it. Gently lifting his hood only to reveal new scars that had taken you aback—your thumb grazing one below his eye.

“Ive missed you…so much”

“I missed you too”

Your eyes getting teary

His arms snaking around you for a hug—he's gotten so much strong in such a short time.

His hero suit covered in thing thats you didn't even know and a certain..odor coming from it “ um do you mind if i..yk” looking at his soiled hero costume. “Yea just..be careful.” so piece by piece you took them off till you got to suit. He groaned as you unzip the suit you see the reason why he told you to be careful—his back was scattered with wounds and scars old and new. Your hand lightly grazing them.

“ what happened?” you ask with a concerning tone 

He laugh in response “ some villains got me pretty good right.”

You furrow your eyebrows in response, he always been one to wipe things off with laughter

“ Let me show you the bathroom” you take his hand and guide him upstairs to the bathroom and turn on the shower “ let me get you some clothes, call me if you need anything.” as you walk out the door 

“ wait ”

You turn back to see his cheeks a blush red color and raise an eyebrow

“ well um…yk im kinda sore and i was wonding if you could help me?”

What?

You can feel you face turn red, did he really just say that? Like get in the shower with him. Sure you guys have been close before like making out, but you've never taken off your clothes in front of each other…you nod in response and slowly creep up to him. Both of you are so tense—your hands slightly shake as you go to help him take off his shirt and pants—you do the same, helping him in the show.

He starts on the things that he can do on his own like his front side, the on trickling off him, a mix of the blood and dirt color running off his body. Groaning every time he reached to his side brushing against his sensitive wounds. “Here let me get that for you.” you stop him and take over yourself.

Washing his greasy hair, soothing his tense muscles and down to his sides

“ why did you come back to me?”

….

“What” he spoke in a soft tone as he turned around to you 

“After all this time, after dozens of unanswered calls and messages…izu why now?” you sniffled, looking up to his with tears in your eyes. Why are you getting so emotional—was it just the presence of him after all this time of not seeing him

He hangs his head down in defeat—bringing his hands up, rubbing his forehead.

“ i-i couldn't be away from you anymore, ive been fighting myself day and day not to go back to UA just to keep you safe. I watch over everyday i see how you are—you go in my room sit o my bed and reread the letter over and over and i wanna just..go in and hold you so tight but i cant…and then today i was passing by the neighborhood and then i saw you…i just couldn't take it anymore so i—” you cut his off with a swift kiss on the lips pulling him by the back of his neck.

He waste no time by pulling you by your back into him, you've been yearning for this for so long that the kiss felt like a lifetime before you pull away—catching your breath 

You look up to him to see his eyes—an iridescent green color, his pupils so dilated.

“ we should get out of here before we get pruney fingers.” you giggle

He nods in response—you get out and wrap in your towel and hand him his, he picks you up and sets you down on the bathroom counter and nuzzles his head in your neck “ ive missed you so much.” he mumbles into your neck—leaving a kiss on your neck. “We should get changed before i freeze to death.” you both change into the pjs you brang and then head downstairs. 

He brings you bridal style to the couch—forcing you into a cuddle, taking in your scent enjoying these few moments that he had with you

“Ive missed this…i've missed you.” he places a soft kiss on your lips.

“Me too, im happy your finally home.”

A few months back, I asked if it was okay to write using Clora and Seb. Finished the work - thought I'd lost it on my hard drive and a virus scan located it.

Not sure if it's sad or happy, but the basic premise of it is Clora getting frustrated/upset at Sebastian and Sebastian comforting her, Sebastian getting upset at a predicament Clora's in and Clora comforting him, and them both getting frustrated/upset and having to comfort each other.

If you'd rather I didn't post it, that's fine too, but just wanted to test the waters and double check that you'd be okay with it if I gifted it to you via AO3, or see if you wanted a sneak peak of it before posting it.

brainstorming is defs my fav part of the process and the most helpful part to me. just getting a blank document and writing stuff you want to happen without worrying about how it connects to the story, and then a lot of the times as i was doing that id just keep going and it would kinda tie itself together/id come up with a solution as i was writing / once the ideas kept flowing. so basically : TIMELINES AND OUTLINES I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND, but very low pressure and barebones ones. for example, this is what my outlines/brainstorming look like

its honestly just me talking to myself LMAO, and a lot of the time ill interject and be like "OH YEAH AND THEN THIS CAN HAPPEN" as the ideas come while im writing BAHAHA. its a super fun process and honestly nothing feels better than just getting hit with that flash of inspo, and since its all very low effort theres no pressure to actually write well and its just a chill fun time AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR OWN PROCESS / WRITING💖💖💖it can be difficult but HOPE U HAVE FUN TOO💖💖

Hey i figure youre probably pretty done with anons re: the daisy story so feel free to ignore and never answer.

But i did want to say that im so glad you posted that story. Its been a real moment of comfort for me during a stressful time. Not just the story, but the way youve handled the ridiculous BS youve gotten in response too.

Im a writer, and ive followed you for awhile! I love your comics and little snippets across the board and its a little moment i take whenever i do get the chance to log in every once and a while and just skim through your blog and see what little story youve posted recently.

Like, the daisy story is what it is, but i really really appreciate you standing up for yourself and what youve said re: growth and maturity. I have a severe and stigmatized mental illness, and as i go through recovery im often reminded of all the times ive hurt people whether unintentionally or maliciously. Seeing a creator i enjoy not only acknowledge mistakes theyve made so publically, but also not accept the public beating people feel they are entitled to really helps me personally. Like, you don't deserve this level of vitriol, so maybe I ought to be nicer to myself yeah?

I know it hurts and sucks right now, people are vicious sometimes. But i wanted to send some encouragement your way too. Its refreshing seeing a creator being unapologetically human, ugly side and all. I know im full of ugly sides and it feels good to know that its not too late to be a decent person, because theres time to learn and grow.

Its funny tho, all of these people are getting mad at you and saying all these mean things to you about something you know is wrong and have learned from, but none of them have taken the time to recognize that they are actively doing mean things right now. Like..?

Its times like this that he wonders if he shouldnt try again to give you a happier ending.

Estinien is a firm hand on your shoulder, a steady shoulder to lean on, because he gets it. The feeling of being trapped in your own body, puppetted by powers so much greater than you can imagine, almost greater than you can comprehend... Youre breaking down for the both of you, honestly, because hes spent so long training the iron discipline to resist nidhoggs influence that he doesnt know how to anymore. This is. Cathartic. For the both of you tbh.

Aymeric wishes in this moment, more than anything, that he could just. Just be with you. Out on your journeys, giving you support by your side instead of from a distance. Sidurgu is surprisingly good at this. Or, maybe not so surprising? Rielle is very mature for her age, but shes still a child. He probably does this whole song and dance every other week. And you feel a little bit like a child, the way he bullies you into the shower and then bundles you up in blankets and pushes food at you, but. Beneath the gruff words and scowl you can tell hes worried. Frustrated. This is exactly the kind of injustice that as a dark knight he swore he would fight, but hes just one man, there isnt much he can do about the desolation of the star. But he also needs you to know that he'll always be in your corner. Whether in this little way or if you need him to help you kill a god, he'll always come when you call.

Ardbert has never felt so helpless in his life. He cant touch you, cant be a shoulder you can cry on. He cant even fetch you a glass of water. I don't remember if you've written anything about the Dreamtale twins. Do you have any personal headcanons about them? No, I'm not asking because Nightmare is my favourite and has been on mind a tone lately...

I’ve written a teeny tiny bit about the dreamtale twins. Not all that much tho so I’m glad I get the opportunity to ramble about them!

Nightmare is 100% the elder twin, if only by a few seconds. He totally lords this fact over Dreams head whenever is most convenient, and also means he felt solely responsible for himself and Dream when they were children

Nightmare hid all of the abuse and mistreatment the villagers threw at him. Dream genuinely had no clue anything was wrong.

Dream has a hero complex. He doesn’t know it yet, and doesn’t want to admit it, but it’s something he picked up when he was a kid that never quite went away.

Nightmare is capable of positive emotions, just as Dream is capable of negative emotions. Though either twin isn’t the best at expressing positive/negative emotions

Dream really likes spicy foods, Nightmare loves sweets.

Dream picked up archery at first when he was young, a travelling merchant had gifted him a bow as a gift and he got into archery.

Dream is illiterate, or at least is for his childhood and then likely a few years after he’s released from stone. Neither twin grew up with a formal education, so they both had to teach themselves.

Going on from this, Dream has dyslexia. He hated reading for years and would only sit down to listen to his brother narrate one of his books.

Nightmare has a gigantic library in his castle, stocked with books from all different au’s. He likes seeing how the same author can write such different stories across multiple au’s.

Nightmares castle works like the Other mother’s home from Coraline. Theres only so much to the world, walk far enough and eventually you end up right back where you started.

Dreams version of Nightmares castle is a little cottage on the outskirts of a Monster town. It’s not in its own separate dimension like Nightmares is, Dreams home is settled in a highly positive au.

It’s probably Blue who teaches Dream to read. Ink is…not the best teacher, and Blue is the only other person Dream would feel comfortable telling about his illiteracy.

Ink and Blue both crash at Dreams home. Even though neither live there full time Dream likes to keep their rooms just as they left them. (He has a room dedicated for Nightmare… if his brother ever wanted to stay of course)

Nightmare does get along with the bad Sans’s. To varying degrees on certain days (….Killer I’m looking at you)

Nightmare and Dreams relationship never fully repairs. Ever.

Sure they’re not actively trying to kill each other anymore. But by this point there is such a wide gap between the two.

Dream doesn’t like this, and for the longest time tries to force Nightmare to be around him, to spend time together, etc.

And it doesn’t go well, Nightmare is really the twin who feels too different from his past self to ever go back.

As much as it hurts Dream to think about. Nightmare has new interests, thoughts, personality, friends, even family.

Dream can only hope that one day, they will be able to spend time together like they did as children.

Gwyn is the first person Diana opens up to about her transition and its honestly so heartwarming that Gwyn, the leader of the Wild Hunt, known to be vicious and feared by faerie, is literally just there for her to lean on. hello..! probably a silly question, but how does one get into comics. i'm specifically interested in cass and steph but wanna get into the batfam as a whole and i have no idea how 😭 i'm like can i just start wherever? but then i do not know where to start. it is all very confusing to me. sorry if you're not the right person to answer i just really love your stephcass art (and your dinahbabs ZOO WEE MAMA 😍) and figured it wouldn't hurt to ask ^⁠_⁠^

not silly at all!! i got into comics for cass and was super overwhelmed by people saying you could start wherever so i promise youre not alone in feeling like that

i personally started off with cass's main run, Batgirl (2000), with really only having watched btas so a lot of things were a very big surprise to me (BARBARA) but it honestly does a really good job of introducing you to the most? of the batfamily (including steph). its mostly from cass's pov so youre meeting a lot of these people at the same time she is and i personally found that really comforting.

i would def recommend starting just a little before batgirl 2000 though with:

First appearance: Batman (1940) #567

Follow up: Detective Comics (1937) #734

She gets the suit: Batman Legends of the Dark Knight #120

First solo story: Batman (1940) #569

and my personal favorite: Batman: Gotham Knights #2

you could honestly just read the first two and jump into batgirl 2000 but theres a little extra context surrounding the batgirl suit and how it originally belonged to Helena Bertinelli (shes the person in the batgirl suit for the first part of cass's first appearance) that you dont really need to know to get into cass but is still important.

after seeing barbara as oracle in batgirl 2000 i got into birds of prey (i also have a little guide for that -> )

and then after into STEPH (Gwyn has a really awesome steph guide that you should def also check out) and so on

it seems scary at first but once you pick someone you want to read about and get into them, other characters will catch your attention and youll want to know more about them and thats how most people get locked into this evil evil comics trap.
