every time i see nonhumans+ complaining about "tiktok therians", i get reminded of how "tumblrkin" used to be a derogatory term for those not taking their identity seriously and only doing it "for the aesthetic", or even earlier, in the early 2000s, how the weres/therians on the alt.horror.werewolves forum were complaining about the new community members not taking it seriously. XD
i suppose us complaining about the youth doing nonhumanity wrong is a tradition lol. Like of course kids aren't posting philosophical essays about nonhumanity, of course misinformation amongst them is rampant (especially considering the medium of tiktok), of course some of them aren't taking this very seriously or might "grow out of it". It's ok!!
Obviously, we should lend them a helping hand in clearing up misinformation and teaching them about the full variety and wonder of the nonhuman or alterhuman experience. But we shouldn't look down on them, and treat them as if they're bad somehow. As well as that, sometimes we should just accept the generational and platform based differences between us. It's ok. We've been through this before, and we'll be through this again when the next wave of newbies rolls around.

sorry to be a bit of a hater but i do wish youtubers weren't so scared of making their videos just like, "reviews", whys everything gotta be a "video essay" all the time. every day my recommendations are filled with 40 minute videos titled "_____: An Underrated Masterpiece" where the first like five minutes are reading the wikipedia definition of "masterpiece" in a somber voice with dramatic themed text on screen. please just tell me how good or bad you think something is and use the rest of the runtime to explain why. you dont need to put on all these airs

I think why Shinjiro not getting to live in the male protagonist version of the story is such a dealbreaker for me (other than the fact that he’s my favorite character) is that it just kinda fucking sucks that the memento mori theme is being applied to a guy who’s deeply suicidal. Like yes, it’s a tragedy that someone so kind and loving dies without a second chance. Yes, it’s true that pushing people away and drugging yourself to death is a poor way of spending your life and that if Shinjiro decides he wants to live after all, he’s still gonna get hit with the repercussions of his actions and die anyways. I get that. But it just sucks so bad that they chose to do this with someone who’s actively suicidal and instead of really acknowledging his depression properly they just kill him off. And then when a version of the story exists where he gets to have a happy ending, they try to make you forget it and stick to the version where he dies. Cuz idk, caring about the wellbeing of your suicidal friend is just too goddamn gay for atlus to handle lol. It just rubs me such the wrong way as someone who relates pretty heavily to the mental health struggles and personality of Shinji that his death is something that’s so wanted by atlus aaaaa

fun fact (*and by fun fact, i mean a bunch of stupid shit*):
I started to ship skullscratch/greenapple because of this one diss post about dirk x jake, yapping about how “jake dumb, dirk COOL, misinterpreting jake as confident and smart and stuff, you wanna know wha? misinterpreted jake is really just JOHN. dirk x john BETTER.” or something. i really didnt care for the dirk x john superiority parts—but the jake slander parts? i got REAL interested in those studies of him. i was like “man he really IS pathetic (/aff i love english sm) how come he pulls so much but nobody ships him with anybody but dirk” and then looked back at the reason why that person made the entire essay in the first place. I thought “man, dirk and john are REALLY popular together even though they have no canonical interactions.. but what about their brothers, what about jakedave? 🙁 wheres my content of them??”. at first, i only indulged in it out of pity and spite because man, these two are such an underrated ship/rarepair, i had never seen these guys be shipped before (davejakedaily ily) despite their charmingly dumb dynamic; then i realized dude, theres no fucking gifs of them i need one of those sparkly gay gifs with dumb text vaguely relating to the image behind it. so i made one. and then i started actually shipping them.

Hot take - most Gaylors/Kaylors did not have close friendships with other women and/or have a very white/eurocentric view of what female friendships can look like because me and my best friend (I’m a lesbian and she is straight, but I see her as my sister and have no feelings for her) are more affectionate than other friends because she comes from a culture where being more affectionate is your friends is normal, and I know if we were famous the Kaylors would come out of the woodworks and write an MLA formatted essay on why we’re actually secretly dating

additional thoughts: i think it's less close female friendships (although that is 100% an aspect) and more like. it's very intuitive to want role models, and it's very intuitive to see yourself in the people you love. especially with the undercurrent of queer people like... idk how to sum it up, but it's this thing where you identify with your queerness, you have primarily or exclusively queer friends, you consume primarily queer art... and the eventually it feels like its taking away from your queer identity to be invested in straight art. especially art as stereotypically straight as taylor was perceived to be in the 2010s. and that's reinforced by queer culture at large-- at least, white queer culture in the past century or so-- which has always revolved heavily around the art you consume, and the percieved queerness of that art. there's this undercurrent that like, listening to straight art makes you a worse gay
it's also impossible to ignore that taylor's music does have themes that are incredible relatable to queer culture-- forbidden love, unrequited love, love as religion, love as something reckless. it is easy for queer fans to not only find relatable themes in her work, but themes that are relatable to because of their queerness. i'd argure that most of those are also the kind of things that any catholic girl thrust into fame at a young age would also find herself obsessed with, but like, i don't think theres harm in saying love story is really fucking gay.
kaylor-ism wise though, karlie has always felt more like. like she was just tayor's best friend, and thus the natural choice if you were going to read taylor as gay, more so then them having an intensley homoerotic relationship. also like, if i were rich, i would totally have a room in my house for my best friend that i covered with pictures of us hanging out and her favorite snacks. and i would probably be so psyched about it i would mention it to rolling stone while giving them a tour of my house

The world got to see your story and oops video essayist discovered it. What type of essay are they making? Is it a deep dive? Is it a rant about “controversial” parts? Is it about how the story got popular? Taking apart every single sentence? What are they focusing on?
hihi! happy very late storyteller saturday (perhaps even a storyteller sunday :o)
i think with eidolon vetch theres a couple options for things to focus on:
a deep dive into the worldbuilding/history of the setting (Yes i have thought about the past of the story more than the actual story's plot. it's a problem) especially the traditions and fashion!
2. going into the trans text/subtext (because i accidentally made a character who is trans also have a very trans arc separate to his transness, which is silly.)
3. just. going through and breaking down the tropes used surrounding gentleman thieves and detectives. i'd love a multiple hour video essay comparing eidolon vetch to its influences because it is nothing without my love of gentleman thief and detective media!

like i dont wanna be bullied on the internet just by trying to raise a point bc most of my topics are half baked due to a lack of discussion around it, so there is definitely NO WAY that id be able to sum them up properly on my own and I know someone would take that in the worst way possible and slander me

Ah u know what that is completely fair. I keep forgetting tht not everyone has access to the same information as people in the fandom do especially with how hard it would be to even find any of our posts outside the fandom
As an experiment i tried to google 'tommyinnit controversy 2024' and only found surface lvl logan paul twitter drama and a few dwt2 posts that only discuss his current yt videos (and also a wildly misinformed post on his reddit page that ofc made the dteam devil incarnate 😭) but none of the actual '''''drama'''' stuff that we know about so damn I didn't expect it to be that hard
Trying to even begin research on any of that opens up like 700 other topics because now u also need to look up those things while also trying not to fall into either of the opposing sides biased views on those situations but also lets not forget the actual topic at hand ect
While i cannot claim that this changes my opinion from my previous essay andy post completely it did certainly made me extend more grace towards her
I try to always assume incompetence instead of malice but something abou drantis and general anti dream rethoric makes me Evil. So even seeing his face or hearing his name nearly made me black out💀💀

yeah exactly stuff like this is what i mean like as much as information on the internet is catalogued extensively and can be found in some form or another you need to know WHERE and HOW to find it. what sources to trust, timestamps. if stuff has been deleted from source is there a way to find it in reposts, or discussions on blogs? is there a community on twitter? does it look the same as it did four years ago when the drama was prevalent? what about suspended accounts, people nuking stuff, and archives that arent preserved anymore? did anyone bother to preserve it at all? theres so many questions you need to ask if youre willing to deep dive or research ANYTHING and the truth unfortunately is there are a lot of people who just dont have the time or care to do so which again leads back to the type of reactionary and awful drama channels we DONT like. or deep dives that are either extremely deep or surface level no in between. thats not even getting into algorithmic bias at all!! which is also a serious problem in preservation and archiving
im glad you could humor my point a little bit, and i can still completely understand why anything having to do with general drantiness causes that reaction because though i dont get this way with chommy i definitely do have a visceral negative reaction when different people are brought up too. as for your last part yeah. that also pisses me off too i dont necessarily wish any ill on him but i really need people to move on from that sort of thinking so bad, not in the sense that all people from any group are evil but that your parasocial expectations of a person can be very different than the reality :/ maybe im not wording that right but i hope you understand what i mean there

With some recent great video essays about the state of youtube popping up i began thinking about just, how much I'm starting to hate 'drama youtubers'
People posting videos almost immediately after any controversy pops up, not researching it enough or hell, not even doing that and just using a handful of 'Oh this person heard that someone else said' type of tweets. And if the creator is niche/small channel the accusation can have barely any truth in it, but people will go after them, because they trust the person covering to be honest and good.
But hell, even when the accused person is actually shitty, theres just so much off putting things to me in many videos of these type. Its the lack of actual sympathy towards victims, its the merch plugging before you talk about someone being put through hell, its the comedy bits inbetween clips of someone recounting their trauma (especially looking at the channels covering emilyartful situation, probably my tipping point in my approach towards these channels with how awful their coverage was)
It might be just me being late to the party of noticing these things. But i mostly just wanted to see if anyone else feels the same

Umm, so genuine question: What's up with the Silken guy? I learned about his existence literally today and am awfully confused. (In my defence - I'm not a native speaker and I don't read much poetry in any language anyway.)
richard siken (not silken, theres no L) is a poet whos work was really popular on here around 2019 especially (if youve ever seen the 'youre in a car with a beautiful boy' thing, thats an excerpt from one of his poems). he recently announced he would be releasing a new book of poetry, which is significant because it will be his first book published since having suffered a massive stroke a few years ago. it seems like recently theres been some controversy surrounding him because, from what i understand, someone on tiktok claims they contacted him for a school project and he responded harshly (heres a post with screenshots of both the message she sent and his reply).
to be frank with you i dont really feel like this is worth holding against him. her questions were invasive. a lot of siken's work explores intensely personal subject matter. he has written poems about childhood crushes trying to kill him upon discovering his feelings and watching lovers slowly die. i do not think its an exaggeration to call it insulting to have someone read this work, call it 'interesting,' and then tell you that you need to give them, a complete stranger, a brief summary of your entire life story so they can write an essay about it. without so much as saying please. yes, he could have just ignored the message, and he probably should have, but i just cant blame him for getting mad about that personally. sorry.
& this isnt even getting into the fact that he had *just* had a massive stroke, which was very publicly available information, and that that link in his email response was to the gofundme that he was living off of at that time (context conveniently partially blocked by the speech bubble in the tiktok)

ohh i have SUCH a controversial jennifer jareau opinion. and this is probably gonna be more like an essay. i wish i could say i was sorry.
everyone always says theyre anti jj slander, which is fine ofc, but just weird bc i NEVER see anyone slandering her. in my 3 years in the fandom, ive seen it happen maybe 5 times total, which sucks because she deserves so. much. more. hate.
(spoilers for *that* jeid plotline, as well as some other things)
in season 7, spencer tells her that she has mean girl vibes and she replies "i was a nice girl, especially to guys like you" which ALWAYS pissed me off because she literally just confirmed what he said? and everyone acts like it was a funny joke. she said that shit with her whole chest and meant it, and it wouldnt be *that* big of a deal if it was the only time. but shes consistently mean to him throughout the show, ignoring him, walking away, etc. spencer isnt even the only one shes like this to. and she just has a sense of superiority, idk how to describe it. just by the way she talks and interacts with those around her, you can tell. (while we're on that note, she also ignores her privileged a LOT. maybe not all the time, but theres been multiple times where she acts like she went through hell to get where she is. other than her sister passing, she had it completely easy. in terms of resources, opportunities, etc., she was basically born with a golden spoon in her mouth.)
in s14 when she confesses to spencer that shes always been in love with him, it just makes my blood boil. obviously he had been over her a long time (imo), but that was something she should've kept to herself bc it just brought alllll those feelings back to the surface. not to mention that hes the godfather of her children, and shes married, and will probably (definitely) doesnt know how she feels. thats literally emotional cheating on her part, even though reid didnt reciprocate it, it was still wrong of her to be that close to him without will knowing how she really felt.
there are other things i dont like abt her too, but those are the main things and im trying to keep this as short as possible. but i literally cant stand her, shes by far my least favorite character, and everyone acts like shes an angel sent from heaven, when really shes just a privileged bitch.
i like JJ a lot (i want her to be my mom </3) but i do agree with several of your points - she's definitely not the worst character, each and every character has a list of flaws that we could make, so this by no means makes her the worst, but it does make me angry <3
i just rewatched that 'mean girl' episode!! she doesn't even hesitate before saying 'guys like you', which, you're totally right, means he was right, and she was definitely a mean girl in high school. or even if she didn't say any of it out loud, she was still silently judging 'guys like him' and in high school you can always tells who's silently judging you. they're teenagers. they're not silent about it. the nasty looks they give you?? oh man. but i do think that the blame for ignoring spencer needs to be placed on all of the team members, because they do it all the time too, it's not just her. she has some pretty bad moments with him, but it's definitely something they all do and she shouldn't take the full blame

one scene of hers that really pissed me off was in reid's kidnapping two-parter in s2 (the hankel incident) where she was almost attacked by those rabid (?) dogs and she shot them and she's obviously shaken up and she tries finding reid and realizes what happened and she feels so much guilt for splitting up with him - which was not her fault, she didn't know and should not be held responsible for what happened to him - that she started trying to make other people mad at her?? she cornered derek who was grieving and stressed at the loss of his best friend and they're both sleep deprived and she says something like 'admit it, you hate me, you think it's my fault' AND I???? GIRL. he is being so nice to you?? he was literally like oh honey if you need time off i know you're really shaken up and we can take care of this and and and AND SHE WAS LIKE oH yeah suRe just admit it i'm the worSt everybody hATEs mE- I WAS... this is not about you. go get therapy for the dog attack that you just almost suffered?? do not stand around a crime scene and pester the victim's best friend and delay the investigation because you're feeling guilty. go talk to someone about it. take a few days off. again, i totally get that she was shaken up and hopped up on adrenaline, but everyone told her to go get some rest and she was like no i think i will make myself the problem instead <3
all of that being said i still love her </3 i was not kidding when i say that i wish she was my mom holy shit i would have loved to grow up as her kid but she definitely has her flaws just like the rest of the BAU, and logical, critical breakdowns of a characters flaws aren't slandering, they're analysis, so i think everybody needs to stop shitting on people who criticize or analyze their faves lmao

I followed you for lotr stuff, and I was wondering what you think about the differences between the book and movie versions of the Hobbit?
I personally have only read the book (multiple times) and I’m planning on watching the movies, but from what I’ve seen (in posts) they added in a fair bit of characterization of their own for the dwarves and especially Thorin. Does that line up with your experience or do you think the movies stay pretty true to the book character-wise?

and oh gosh.. i could talk about this topic for HOURS. if i honestly had the talent to formulate my thoughts into a whole video essay i would... but i shall do my best!
so i have seen both the movies and read the book (am rereading and reading in my native language) and i think i truly love them equally! they have a special place in my heart now ever since i randomly decided to rewatch the movies a couple of years ago now.
there is of course a lot of controversy surrounding the hobbit trilogy which i think is not quite fair compaired to the lotr trilogy. again am no expert in storytelling or filmmaking for that matter but as a simple fan and viewer i too can judge of what i like about the adaptations. and you are correct! they put a lot of characterization for the dwarves to make them into more like their own individuals and have personality. they are all so lovable and they did a really great job with them.. and especially getting thorin's story and presence across very well. from hearing the stories and thoughts from the cast of the dwarves especially, you can feel how dedicated they were to the job of bringing their characters and this story to life.
now the big controversy and difference of these films being the changes in the story, adding in characters that were not there originally and pre-production being a bit of a mess with warner bros. some major differences in desolation of smaug the most i think... that legolas is there, theres a love story between tauriel and kíli, some differences with bilbo's encounter with smaug, also the more emphasis of the arkenstone. now i know its also controversal of all the cgi in the film compared to the lotr trilogy but honestly, it was in an era when cgi was the big thing to have in movies in the 2010's i believe. it does not excuse from being a bit too much cgi when there could of been some practial stuff instead maybe.
but the films for what they are i think are really fun and entertaining and i wont pretend they are...to me they are really good in their own way as a tolkien book adaptation. so my biggest problem with the controversy being people who claim all the problems with the hobbit dont hold the same towards the lotr trilogy, that i mean with story changes that would deem it "not a faithful adaptaion", to me lotr trilogy is not really a faithful adaptation if you look at it literally, its really good because its made well in its own way the best they thought they could make it... but does not mean its perfect. the hobbit isnt perfect either, but again, its really good for what they managed to make from interpreting the original book. there as also another thing of that the hobbit didnt need to be a trilogy but honestly, being the massive nerd i am, i want that.. give me more.
now i could talk about thorin FOR DAYS even but to summarise for those who have to read all of this. i love how they made thorin in the movies.. a little different maybe how he is in he book, the thing about making him about middle-aged instead hasnt bothered me. the actor, richard armitage who has quickly become a favourite of mine, put a lot of dedication to his role as thorin from having a personal connection to the book and it just warms my heart seeing that love and care for it, from the whole main cast really.. i love them dearly. i saw the movies when they came out in theatre when i was a pre-teen and i was blown away from seeing it.. and years later when i found my way back again and reading the book as well, can't do anyhing but love it. it is not a faithful book-to-film adaptation but i think its really great, its linear and as the original plot points.. if you just want a fun watch i believe the movies are great, if you ever want to discuss if you end up seeing the movies, dont hesitate to come around again!
im sorry if i strayed too much from main question and ive tried to summarise the best i can.. i shall add on if i remember more things i could bring up! hope this was something to read at least! <33

i have this problem where i click on a huge video essay about some topic or controversy then i scroll down to the comments and all the comments are saying stuff that happened in the video and now i think theres no point in watching the video because the people down in the comments told me the video so i dont watch the video so i click on another video and then i do the same thing with the new video that i did with the old video and then im like i dont wanna watch this video now now that i know what this videos contents are whats the point of watching this video

Yeah, this honestly. Truth of the matter is, we only identify as a "syscourser" on the technicality of the definition of "someone who posts and talks about syscourse" but we largely don't see our engagement as "syscourse" because most of what we post is just really trying to have conversations and understanding of different perspectives and issues and what not. Ignoring all the toxicity, virtue signaling, hostilities and all the problems that come with this assignment of moral value and discussion-less argument - I honestly just find the whole "I'm right, you are wrong" and "I'm good and you are bad" incredibly boring to read and participate. Nothing new comes from it and none of it really improves my understanding of myself, the world, and other people.
I posted about it the other day - the tokenization of minorities for the sake of virtue and convenient performative allyship - but you also mentioned it; people do the same disrespectful thing with science, professionals, and "research" where they only accept information that confirms their beliefs and everything else isn't "real". It's the same "trying to gain credibility" but instead of moral and emotional credibility (pathos), its academic credibility (ethos), but little to know of it is an actual genuine care for science and research itself.
I honestly largely blame the American (and I'm not sure if it goes on in other countries) teaching system particularly regarding "persuasive essays" and "rhetoric" and "debate" because they largely don't teach people how to explore and analyze complex issues but rather how to win arguments and convince people to agree with you. Like I was personally taught over at least two dedicated years of high school english and honestly three years as to how to "Win debates" and find information that support my statement and appeal to an audience without really actually spending the time to deeply understand it, because the value was NOT in understanding the complex issue, it was about making your point and getting as many people riled up and on your side and I find it extremely depressing and disgusting; but it's the same rules and concepts that most discourse online goes through.
Like honestly, back when I was a staunch anti-endo, it's largely because back then I didn't really understand that debate and arguments are some of the least productive things in society and is why a lot of Western and specifically Capitalist "Democratic" American heavy social circles are honest to god toxic, horrible and unproductive. Debate and arguments are hailed in America as this smart person thing - this good social skills thing - this influential and cool thing to be good at, but honestly, I think being good at debate / arguments and regularly using that - at least as Americans handle debate and arguments - tend to just usually set you up to be the least productive person in any conversation.
But hey, when I was coming out of highschool and the first few years of college, I was the literal best in my class at debate. I led a team in the Grand Debates in my AP Rhetoric class and unironically accidentally made someone cry because I was so good at shutting down their arguments and making them look stupid. The thing is, in those Grand Debates, we were more or less randomly assigned a controversial topic and a side. I wasn't arguing for anything I cared about, nor were they, but they teach you innocent hostility, how to shut down completely valid points worth discussing, and then reward you.
It's honestly only when I started talking to people who are actively doing research about complex topics did I realize just genuinely how boring, toxic, and unproductive that sort of engagement with people is because if you ACTUALLY talk to researchers - those people disagree SO fucking much and privately (usually, theres some funny things you can find of people writing papers that basically vague post others) diss the people who disagree with them. However, those people still talk and discuss and read eachothers information and when a point is given they adjust their view to be inclusive of that information because ya know what? There is a genuine shared interest in figuring out what is what. Some will make stretches to keep their core perspective if they are really a strong believer of their hypothesis, but they are still theoretically relatively reasonable and they do still acknowledge the places their views don't fit into.
And so I personally think a lot of the issue people have with this pointless dead-end debate that syscourse tends to have is a combination of emotionally charged individuals putting their personal safety and trauma and what not into the conversations and genuinely running off of trying to protect their community, sense of belonging, and internal mental safety (cause many don't want to admit it, but realizing you were wrong and/or questioning what you know can be extremely distressing and triggering for some people, particularly for those with a history of being manipulated, gaslit or have a developing but unstable trust in themselves), but also just the general way that people are raised and brought up and taught as to how to talk about complex topics with no clear answers.
I honestly feel more pity and see it as a tragedy that people don't realize the progress, fun, and potential in actually having conversations and trying to learn more about others and how they live and thus prefer to just sit in their stance and get stuck in a loop of "I'm being targetted" and "I'm attacking in defense" back and forth. Plus of course the general rollercoaster of the ego boosts and crashes that can come with "winning" and "loosing". Plus traumatized people often finding comfort in stress and chaos and what not.
More than anyone I think the people stuck in there are hurting themselves. (Save for maybe the most aggressive and lacking in self awareness individuals)
But I digress. I just try to engage and encourage people who are having good and genuinely provocative discussions on topics when I see it. Beyond that I tend to just block people who are engaging in syscourse in a way that is just unproductive and driven by ego, winning/loosing, or some moral signalling value.
If you aren't following them already, I do strongly recommend @hiiragi7 @reimeichan @greens-spilled-tea and @indigochromatic as they tend to post really good shit and are individuals I do heavily respect for their ability to actually engage in productive conversation on complicated topics. There are a number of other people I've interacted on here that are also pretty cool and what not so its not an exhaustive list - those are just the three (reimei and green are the same but different blogs) that I see posting conversation starters and the ones I talk with the most.
(Sorry for this being a long post, it became a rant/vent and a lot of thoughts. Someday I'll shut up about this I SWEAR lol. There's a TL;DR at the end.)
Maybe I'm not even interested in syscourse outside of learning more about plurality and its connections outside of CDDs and why someone may see themselves as plural or really any way of not seeing oneself as One Singular Self (whether it has to do with a disorder or it's a cultural/religious/etc. reason). Or I guess that does make me interested in syscourse. Just not echo chamber syscourse.
Like I'm sorry but y'all are fucking mean. I LOVE having discussions where I can learn and understand other perspectives. I guess to steal SAS's label, I'm very pro-syscourse conversation (though—and this isn't to bash SAS AT ALL—to me that feels redundant because syscourse is supposed to be conversation anyway. But it's not so the label is necessary). I want to learn. I want to be educated. I want to discuss this, even with people who disagree with me, because I want knowledge of other perspectives.
But it is so hard to find syscourse spaces that AREN'T echo chamber syscourse spaces. The desire to attain knowledge is stomped out by attaching inherent morality to labels that can be boiled down to one argument: Do you or do you not believe that plurality is exclusive to CDDs?
And shockingly this has more nuance than "endos are/n't valid". What may cause someone to see themselves as plural without a CDD? And the answers are vast and could be a FASCINATING discussion. Not even necessarily a debate, just learning more about people. And yet the answer to this question isn't even considered before so many people just go "[extremely loud incorrect buzzer noise]" and shut it down.
Maybe, ironically, this is me struggling to understand perspective. But I don't understand the lack of interest in wanting to understand, despite having experienced it myself. And even that, I want to understand. But I know that the fact that because of the nature of my opinions, I would be marked pro-endo, and shut out of that discussion. And it's INFURIATING because I respect the fact that they don't want to interact with me but I just don't understand!
There is endless room for discussion that's shut out and it's frustrating. It's heartbreaking. I want there to be discussion. But there won't be until the echo chambers start to open their fucking eyes.
I remember the moment for me was when someone in the Twitter dissociatwt community who I really respected, who always provided good resources, who was reliable and kind and honest...was pro-syscourse conversation. And my knee-jerk reaction was almost betrayal. How could someone that I respected be a pro-endo??
But I realized that they didn't stop being reliable because of this. Some of y'all will discount doctors who have been studying plurality, trauma, and dissociation longer than some of you have been alive because they're a stinky smelly "pro-endo". Therapists and doctors and the like who go "Why isn't it possible" get discounted because of this when they, too, just want to understand. Because with all due respect and in the most positive way, they're a bunch of nerds. And I don't understand. I don't understand how you can do that.
And that's really the thing. I don't understand and I'm not given the space to understand because my stance is somehow morally wrong. I'm not virtue signaling right. Sometimes for both sides. And it's awful.
TL;DR, I don't understand and am frustrated by echo chamber syscourse. That's it. That's all this long-ass post is saying. I don't get it. It didn't need a post but a lot of me just started Talking and did not stop.
