i think remus would forgive sirius pretty soon after the prank. He'd want to leave so bad but... he just needed them. Sirius was the one that was always there. Sirius was the one that made him happiest. And he told himself, it was just a mistake. Sirius made a mistake, and everyone does sometimes, right? So he forgave them. He hated them, but he forgave them. The hurt would go away eventually, right? So he let himself love sirius again.

And months went by, and he was still hurting. But the wound was still fresh, right? He needed to give it time. A few more months. Or a few more years.

But he still hurt and hurt and hurt. He couldnt stop hurting. He couldn't forget. But he stayed. Because Sirius stayed with him, even if remus hurt him. He had to return the favor, right?

And they stayed together. And they planned a future together. But remus didnt know if he even wanted it. But Sirius was trying to be better, to be less hurtful, to be less reckless. He was trying. It was just a mistake, right? He's sorry, right?

And after all, who else could want him? No one had before. Sirius was his only chance at a happy ending. He was his only hope

And so he stayed

It was too late to leave

And he didnt want to be alone

Sirius stumbled through the dancing crowd, drink in hand. 

He was looking for Remus. Where was he?

His question was soon answered, as he spotted him talking to Marlene. Sirius watched as Remus smiled sheepishly at her and walked away, towards the door.

Naturally, Sirius followed him out into the cool night air.

“R’mus,” he slurred. His tongue felt heavy from all the drinks he had earlier. “Where ‘re ya?”

“Here,” Remus said amusedly from Sirius’s right.

“Remus!” Sirius grinned, turning around. “Th’re you are!”

“Yup, here I am,” Remus replied, grinning right back. “Why’re you out here, Sirius?”

“You,” he said unabashedly. If he were more sober, then he would have been embarrassed about his bluntness, but he wasn’t sober. Not at all.

“Me?” Remus quirked an eyebrow. “What’s so special about me?”

“You’re so pretty, ‘nd nice t’ everyone,” Sirius responded eagerly, looking right in Remus’s warm amber eyes. “And you’re so great.”

“Thank you?” He looked unsure. “But really, why’re you here?”

Sirius decided to get straight to the point. “Can I kiss ya, Remus?”

“We’re both drunk. You’ll regret it,” Remus said.

“Nah, I won’t. ’ve been thinkin’ ‘bout this for ages, Remus. Please?” Sirius asked, doing his best puppy dog eyes.

“We’re drunk, Sirius. I’m less drunk than you, so it would be my fault,” Remus sighed. “Maybe when we’re sober, ‘kay?”

“Fine,” Sirius pouted. “Hug?”

“Sure,” Remus agreed, eyes twinkling. He pulled him into his body, enveloping him in his scent. Sirius was sure that if he died right then, he’d die a happy man.

The first thing Sirius did the next day when they were both sober was ask Remus to kiss him once again.

This time, he wasn’t denied.

peter: sometimes i wonder what my life would be like if i hadn't met you guys

remus: pads can we talk later about... private stuff?

sirius: relationship stuff?

remus: yes

james: has it got anything to do with the cluedo roleplay?

i’m genuinely not sure if it’s more painful to imagine that Mary obviated herself or to imagine that she didn’t.

Because if she did, that means that she knew that her loyalty would never allow her to leave she knew that she would never be able to get away from her guilt, but she also knew she wouldn’t survive the war so that means she chose to erase this MASSIVE part of her identity to be able to move on and escape the grief and get out alive. but at what cost?

But if she didn’t?!? that might be worse. that means, she never escaped the grief. It means she has to live either knowing that all of her friends died and she wasn’t there or not knowing what happened at all.

Mary is such a fascinating character study because as the fandom perceives her (i say this cause we have no canon) she’s the only one who survived, and she still didn’t make it out unscathed. like no matter which way you slice it this poor girl was fucking traumatized, and she either literally removed a part of herself to get away or lives with the pain and survivors guilt, and that’s such an interesting way to view grief and pain. it begs the question is it better to have the memories that made you who you are even if they’re painful or is it better to forget? to cut your losses and move on?

Prompt 19 - Thunder

A storm was coming. James could feel it. His shoulder always ached right before a storm hit. He’d fallen off his broom during a bad tackle during a Quidditch match and even though Madam Pomfrey had done a wonderful job of healing him, the shoulder still ached. He rotated it absentmindedly.

“Shoulder giving you jip, darling?” Regulus asked, coming up behind him and gently massaging the sore area. James moaned as Regulus’s clever fingers found the spot straight away. 

“Yeah, storms coming.” He sighed, melting into Regulus’s touch. 

“I’ll get the hot chocolate then,” Regulus said, leaning up and kissing James’s neck.

Regulus got them steaming mugs of James’s favourite hot chocolate while James went to set up the pull-out bed in the conservatory. 

They snuggled up together under thick, cosy blankets and listened to the thunder breaking the silence of the night while they waited for the lighting to come over as they stared up at the swirling clouds through the glass ceiling above them.

I usually wouldn't make a post like this, but I'll preface this by saying I'm happy for Zar, that he's decided to repost his works and that he feels comfortable in doing so. He is an amazing writer, and this fandom does not deserve the stuff he has done for it.

What I don't want to be seeing is people saying shit along the lines of "I have to download all the works now in case they get deleted again!" It's just downright disrespectful, the works are made by a person. Remember that, with any fanfic in general, Zar is a person. He made those works for free, and it's all within his right to take them away again. You are not entitled to being able to see these works and Zar does not owe you anything.

Zar deleted his stuff for a reason, just because they are back up doesn't mean you get to ignore that it happened, learn a lesson from this. The initial reactions I saw to him deleting the works were downright disgusting, you are consuming these works for free, you aren't allowed to complain.

If I hear anyone who follows me or who I am following making disrespectful comments about this entire situation I won't hesitate to block or unfollow, please think before you post something. There are people behind the text on your screen. This is basic human decency. Cyber harassment is real, and it is damaging.

We don't deserve the writers in this fandom if all we will do is treat them like machines. Learn from this.

I finally finished my four-volume ATYD layout!

The body text is larger than any formatted version I have found before, which is why it's four volumes instead of three. (The images I added to this post are just thumbnail previews, not meant to illustrate the relative size of the text.) I designed covers, front matter, chapter accents, and gave each character their own handwriting style for their letters!

I put a huge amount of work into this (for myself!) and I'm excited to share with anyone who is interested. The fanart and fonts I used are all credited (fanart in the front matter, fonts in the back) in case anyone wants to look them up.

These PDFs were specifically designed for printing as perfect-bound paperbacks, which is why the margins are larger on the sides toward the spine. There are all sorts of print-on-demand book sites out there that you can use to order your own copies. If you're handy with InDesign I can send you the .indd files if you'd like to modify them.

If anyone is super interested in having these in EPUB format (for e-readers), I can also share those versions, but they won't have the custom fonts because EPUB formats don't play well with those.

These are hosted on my Google Drive and I have no immediate plans to delete them, but I do recommend downloading them if you think you'll want them in the future, in case I need to delete them down the road.
