I read so many people blaming Dee for what happened in today's episode or saying his character doesn't make sense anymore. Well for me it's the opposite, I can't understand Yak or his latest actions. I'll try to explain myself.
Yak could've waited for Dee to explain himself when they found him in Ter's apartment, but even if something really happened between Ter and Dee, what right does Yak have to overreact like that? Aren't they still just friends with benefits? They haven't said otherwise to each other in any way. Wasn't Yak asking Dee two seconds ago to help him get together with Taem? I understand him being jealous, but punching somebody? Who's also Dee's coworker? That's taking it way too far. So yeah, I understand the feelings but not the actions. I think he should apologise to Dee actually.
And Dee, he's been in love with that man for 8 years. I actually like that the show is consistent with that, which usually doesn't happen. I find it perfectly normal that he's still clinging to it, even though he clearly likes or even loves Yak now it's not that easy to let it go. What you hoped for all those years suddenly becomes a possibility, it's normal to have doubts. And Yak has told him several times he likes Taem.
There are things that don't make 100% sense and they definitely should have talked about it before kissing but we're only on episode 7, I still trust the series to slowly tie everything together in a satisfactory way. The show has been slowly establishing they both have their own issues and it's clear that they have to work on them before they have their happy ending.
Something I like about Leo is that he’s honestly really chill? It’s easy to remember the moments where he’s being obnoxious or excitable but I feel like most of the time he’s incredibly “go with the flow” and has an overall affable demeanor.
Did we ever get a full explanation for this scene? Like, did Lexa know the extenuating circumstances of Clarke taking the flame? Or did she assume that Clarke took over being leader and was just like “Yas, das muh gurl”? She’s so happy to see Clarke, and so proud of her too. Even if she doesn’t quite understand the full situation, she’s telling Clarke that she chose her. That even with all her beloved novitiates, that she chose Clarke (even though we know that’s not really how that works). Just fuck me three ways to Thursday because I can’t handle this anymore 😩
JRat made the biggest mistake of his life by killing off Lexa. He deserves all the vitriol he gets thrown.
This is a little project that I worked on in the last weeks, and I finally finished it.
The Japanese dub is my favorite, but the Italian one was the one that made me discover Zexal, and I used to watch the show in Italian until the third arc.
I watched the episodes from the first two arcs in this dub many times and I'm still very attached to most of the characters' Italian voices.
This dub is very dear and nostalgic to me, so I wanted to share some Astral's clips from it on my blog.
But I didn't want to put a bunch of Italian clips here without any kind of subtitles, so I decided to do the subtitles myself. But what should have been just a few clips became all Astral's scenes in the first two episodes, and it took me more time than I anticipated.
Just a few things before you watch the video:
- I tried to do this translation more literally possible (so I apologize if some lines sound weird), but with some phrases and expressions I had to translate them in a not literal way to keep their meaning.
- The edit of the video is a little rough because I favored the audio over the video and I tried not to cut the lines too much. And since I only used Astral's clips, some transactions between scenes are not very smooth, I apologize about that.
- I hope that the subtitles are easy to read, I never did something like this and I did my best to make them readable and not too fast.
- I rewatched it several times to check it, but it's very possible that there's still some errors or/and weird phrasing, so I apologize in advance for any errors.
After all those premises, here is the finished work:
Astral's clips from episodes 1 and 2 of Zexal in Italian dub (with English subs):
(I'm sorry for the bad quality, but not only the original videos were in a low quality, but I also had to lower it even more to upload it)
One of the things I enjoy about Love Sea is that Rak Being a writer is secondary to the story. We get that he came to the island to finish his book and get inspiration. We understand that he's a writer and pretty well known, but we never delve deep into that part of his life.
And we don't need to, because it's not needed for the story to continue. We get reminders of him being a writer. He's going to book signings, having deadlines, bringing up that he helped his dusty cousin. When we met his niece Meena and she said that she used to read his books, and it gave gloomy and sad vibes. It gave us viewers an idea of how we would feel if we read one of his books.
After getting an understanding of his family dynamic and how he grew up, we wouldn't expect that his stories are all happy.
What we get to see how he met this guy on an island that he went to for inspiration. We see how he has trust issues due to his family upbringing. We understand that he doesn't know how to navigate a relationship without monetary involvement. We understand why he is the way he is. We see his trauma and how this guy that he met on the island is trying to help him through his trauma by loving him authentically.
If you really put it together, there's probably 30 minutes of him doing actual writer stuff. And i'm talking from episode 1 to present.
I just love the fact that we know he's a writer. However, the story focuses on him as a person navigating through trauma and trying to be in a relationship.
Sorry for my ramblings, I had to get it out. I honestly just adore this show so much.
they're inventing a new type of queerbaiting where the show is textually queer but is pretending that it might become a different kind of queer to keep people watching. yes this is about me being starved for poly representation and the rebound shamelessly using that to string me along
this was kinda the worst episode out of the entire series tbh simply because of the pacing. i liked the episode, but it was all over the place. they tried to tie in all the lose ends in 50 minutes, and that just wasn’t possible. louis being imprisoned, then released, losing his mind, recovering, AND burning down the theater and killing santiago, all in the span of like 5 minutes, the whole louis/lestat/armand scene, daniel exposing armand, loumand divorcing (that was so underwhelming, esp after 2x05, like, i needed these bitches to have a proper verbal argument, i needed them to be AT EACH OTHER’S THROATS), armand turning daniel (offscreen, cause they didn’t have time to get into all that, cause like… no way it was that simple lol there were too many devil’s minion hints throughout both seasons), louis flying to nola, reuniting with lestat (they have far too long and complex a history for it to be resolved so quickly, it would’ve been far more meaningful had it been done right), daniel publishing his book (compiling, writing, editing, publishing it AND selling 4-5 million copies must have taken a lot of time, so time jump, i guess?)… just by typing this out, it’s too much, way too much to cover in a single episode. the hectic pace left me unsatisfied and it also left a lot of room for plot holes (no more unreliable narrators now, cause the interview is done). idk i think they really should’ve split this into two episodes, at least. one of the things that i really admired about this show was the pace. in season 1, they managed to cover 3 decades in the span of only 7 episodes, while simultaneously showing us what was happening in dubai in 2022, and it never felt rushed. season 2’s pacing was still amazing and satisfying, up until this episode. idk man… i hope this doesn’t happen again, cause it really left a bitter taste in my mouth, and it was the finale, so my expectations were high.
