Since I’ve been encouraged to actually share my funny little blorbo ideas here’s another one gang;

Danny moves to Gotham on scholarship for engineering, because the Fentons may be infamous but they’re also insanely brilliant and besides both he and Jazz are showing every sign of embarrassed child of a super genius syndrome, so while the bats are keeping a close eye on him Just In Case, duke is also thinking of introducing him to the Our Parents Are Maniacs But Anyway club maybe after the first month or so.

Gotham does not go for standard dorm living bc of his ‘condition’ and lack of wanting to constantly spook/gaslight a roommate. Besides, living with two small children is a dorm sounds like a disaster in action.

So Danny signs up as a mechanic in Crime Alley, buys himself a teeny weensy lil apartment and Makes It Work. He has been all year after showing up with a de aged Dani and Dan in Amnity after all, and that had gone,,, fine? (The entire town, observing how Danny had been getting increasingly more uncomfortable around his godfather prior to the cloning incident, then just dropped off the face of the earth for several months, the first two weeks stuck in Vlad’s basement enduring horrors and the next Too Many desperately fapping around in the Ghost Zone to get everything handled. All the clones live, all 13 of them. Bunch of them are stuck in the Ghost Zone due to constant need for ectoplasm, but eh, plenty of Zone born never leave, so. One, in the future, apprentices under a green warrior lady on Pandora’s suggestion, another is working in the Eternal Library with Ghost Writer, etc etc. so Danny eventually came back to Amnity with one small child under each arm very obviously traumatized by Somethingn with vlad and doesn’t like being alone with him,,, or touched without warning,, and immediately and passionately proclaims the kids his but struggles to explain how or why,, look some very reasonable assumptions are drawn okay. So the town does the very reasonable thing and does the midwestern equivilant of excommunicating Vlad, except it’s a lot more run him out with pitchforks vibes since he’s the Mayor. Anyway)

He is immediately loved, because while non Gothamites are usually more of a pain than they’re worth, everyone in a while someone even from out of town will just fit in so nicely it’s uncanny for everyone involved. Addams family vibes, it’s referred to as ‘making it home’, just personal hc. He is protective of all the kids playing in the parks and street girls that can totally take care of themselves on their corners but find it HILARIOUS when he just tackles a dick like a wild animal full force no warning. He can fix anything it seems, but refuses to work with weapons. Reasonable enough, people get twitchy about gangs sometimes. Danny mentions being not against Hood or anything, but he’s not going to work for him, littles to take care of and all, but had past experience with ‘Dora and that inheritance mess with her brother he was being a real prick about’ so everyone assumes it’s the equivilant of him having Done His Time and being plenty good for a life time and respects it as long as none of that petty midwestern small town hotshots bring any of that shit over here. And they don’t, because said individuals are on the other side of the mortal veil, so happy day.

See I really love deaged!Dan because he’s just a grumpy lil guy. But he’s also killed millions. He’s so protective of his loved ones, but held back by blending in and also being Smol that it comes off more bitey kitten than anything else. Dani, of course, is a terror, so she fits right in with the crowd.

And sorry gang, but a bunch of kids on their own in Gotham in a poor side of the city just isn’t going to get any attention: that’s just business as usual really. What first gets attention on Danny is not his ‘condition’ or being mistaken for a meta (which he legally probs has an argument for even without the gene bc like these bitches don’t know how metaism works anyway so) or alien (I’m 90% sure he’d be covered by the alien protection act by virtue of being half ‘not from earth’), but because Danny despite best efforts is a Weird Guy.

He grew up in what could only be described as a low level villain level and spent most of high school dealing with smack downs and spiritual invasion. He’s never really processed that any of that is not in fact Normal. Also, he’s capable of making Anything if given the insides of a toaster, blender and alarm clock, and could probably rewrite the circuits of the apartment blindfolded and improve them 1000% even if it ABSOLUTELY would not be up to code.

And sure, things slip every once in a while, bits of spectral ice here, small floating incident there, but everyone just Minds Their Buisness ya know? You really gunna mess with the guy that personally ensured that when your car got flattened by a fight with Killer Croc, you were still able to get in to work the next day by some wizardry? Really?

But Gotham is a city so cursed it’s probably in the exponents countwise, so of course there is a) a flourishing community of magic users and assorted supernatural weirdos and b) a whole lot of shit for Mega Overpowered Ghost King Danny to idly pick at day to day in order to help with his protecting other Obsession. Gotham has plenty of heroes, but by god do they need the spiritual equivilant of an electrician/priest.

Still, Danny, as a baby ancient under a facet of Kronos and KING OF THE DEAD is like, way, way out of their scope to be able to grok, so it mostly just comes off as you know, a family of banshees or something. When asked, Danny very haltingly says he was briefly dead but then revived, which neatly explains his Weird Ass aura and makes it SPECTACULARLY AWKWARD to ask further about. So everyone nods politely, and goes back to their lives after double checking no nefarious bullshit was being pulled.

Then, of course, Vlad finally tracks them down. The whole neighborhood is altered in short order because he doesn’t bother trying to hide being a Rich Bitch or how he’s sneering down his nose at people on the sidewalk. Every connects the dots when Danny paniks. Dani and Dan’s daycare are staffed with some extra, very buff set of hands within the hour. Jerry, Hood’s third in command, personally shows up to the garage Danny is working at to talk things out with him bc he knows he does t like the deal with this stuff due to past unspecified circumstances but well, they guys had already started fucking with him, you see. Stole his tires, spray painted the windows, pickpocketed him blind, and when he retreated tipped off the police to the drugs they’d planted in the glove box.

Danny might not have been born in Gotham, but he was one of them. And the Alley takes care of it own.

Okay I gotta ask: who’s Clancy?

I’ve been listening to a little bit more twenty one pilots lately just because I found a couple songs I like and I noticed the name pop up in Paladin Straits.

Is this a real person? Is there lore behind the songs? I’m dying to know, tell me their secrets /nf

Clancy is a fictional character, idk if there’s actually a name for the lore other than the tøp lore but he’s from there

The guy on the left is Josh Dun/The Torchbearer, and the guy on the right is Tyler Joseph/Clancy.

Clancys the mc in the story and the Torchbearer is his kind of romantically coded best friend who’s also the leader of the Banditos! A rebel(?) group that lives outside the city of Dema.

If you go to twenty one pilots channel on yt, they have a playlist with every major lore video (but there’s plenty of extra stuff outside of that playlist that you can find on the Wikipedia, plus a livestream they did in-universe which is v pretty I love it dearly I have a link if you ever want it)

The whole story is a mediphor for battling with mental health, and tells it really well!! It’s really impressive.

The basic plot of the story is Clancy is a citizen of Dema, a large depressing city in the gorgeous fictional continent of Trench. The city is controlled by the Nine Bishops who enforce their religion upon its citizens (which is essentially telling everyone to be depressed and kill themselves) so they can “seize them” (bc the bishops can control dead bodies)

The city is nearly impossible to escape thanks to a giant concrete wall, but Clancy has escaped multiple times. Outside the wall he meets up with the Banditos (led by the torchbearer) and just kinda lives with them and is happy and loved and everything good. But Nico (the leader of the nine bishops) keeps dragging him back into Dema.

At some point Clancy becomes well known in the city for being one of like three people to escape, (and also for having a website dedicated to spreading propaganda but that part of the story gets confusing and no one really understands what happens to Clancy there) and the bishops decide to use this to their advantage by giving Clancy pink hair and pronouns and forcing him to be an entertainer.

(Side note during this arc Clancy started to flat out hallucinate the torchbearer bc he was so lonely which I think is really cute he missed his best friend so much)

Eventually Clancy escapes bc Nico is betrayed by another bishop, Keons, and gets washed up onto an island called Voldsoy where he meets the Neds!

The neds give him the gift of their antlers which allow Clancy to control bodies the same way bishops do!

Another side note, the REAL torchbearer has the Jesus-like power of controlling Clancy’s hallucination to “guide” Clancy to places he needs to go (he guided Clancy to the Neds and also guided him back to the Banditos later)

After Clancy meets back up with the banditos (and more importantly the torchbearer), they all prepare for a final battle with the bishops and go fight them. This is where for the bajillionth time the lore gets confusing.

This happened in the finale which btw, right before releasing the video, Tyler Joseph (lead singer) said “let me ask you, do you think this is the end?” Bc this most recent album was supposed to be the finale to the story but now he’s acting cryptic about it? So a lot of people are torn on if we’re getting more lore or not (I think we definitely are esp after what they’re doing with the world tour)

But basically in the finale all the Banditos fought the Bishop controlled zombies outside the walls of Dema so Clancy could sneak in undetected and take out the bishops, and he takes down most of them but right at the last second Nico grabs Clancy by the neck and starts talking to him and then Clancy opens his eyes to stare Nico down and send a message that he’s not afraid of him anymore and the screen cuts to black.

Once again this is supposed to be the end of the lore. A lot of ppl are assuming Clancy is dead rn but now that the tøp world tour started there’s more lore involving different characters writing letters to each other. This is so far unrelated aside from the fact that they all talk about Clancy inspiring them to take action.

All the albums after Vessel are based on the story. They’re supposed to all be in the pov of Clancy (ofc) and if you look closely at the lyrics you can catch a lot of extra lore.

Blurryface is what Nico calls himself, Trench is the name of the pretty continent they live in, Scaled and icy is an enneagram for “Clancy is dead” (which in their Christmas single they said was propaganda) and also a play on the saying “scaled back and isolated” (bc it’s the album where Clancy is kidnapped and alone) and finally Clancy, the “finale”. It’s a really cool story.

There’s a ton of extra details I left out like the significance of the color yellow but yea that’s the main story and who Clancy is :) my siblings and I have been digging up all the lore the past month and with each new tidbit I get a little more fixated on this weird cat guy hope you like this unprompted infodump

love cc’s books but the most unrealistic part is her having not a single character hate being a shadowhunter like?? imagine you live in a whole ass society and you can’t partake in certain roles because you never received proper education and the option to leave this life of demon killing… give me a character that wants to build rockets! give me a character than wants to open a restaurant! give me a character that wants to be a singer! i want a character that despises their parents and the government for being forced in this life (and then maybe learns to love it? because then us, as an audience, would really see why it’s worth it)

i have a theory that twp might end with the shadowhunter word being more integrated into the normal mundane world. kids attending public school and receiving training after school and during summers, etc etc

girl hated the life and the world she was born into so much that she married the first mundane man who promised her a way out. and a big reason for her strong aversion to shadowhunting too is because it was a life her parents didn't want for her, didn't want for themselves. the only reason she was as involved as she was is because of the established procedure for orphans in shadowhunter society.

additionally, we have jem, who upon returning to mortality decides that he cannot live as a shadowhunter without will.

i've thought about this a decent amount before actually. i think the distinction between nephilim and shadowhunter is that one is a race and one is a profession. being a shadowhunter is expected and is overwhelmingly the norm, which is why it tends to be used interchangeably with the term nephilim, but i don't think it is necessarily the end all be all (even if it is their heavenly mandate as a race)

that said tho!! you are very very right about the extent to which the shadowhunter upbringing prepares little nephilim for the mundane world, which is to say, uh.. barely. and this makes it incredibly difficult to breach that barrier, explore other aspects of life, and actually make it on your own out there, especially if you are connected to an institute. which is one of the reasons we see jessie struggling so much in tid.

i think something that's special about tlh is that (maybe because demon activity in london is pretty chill leading up to the series), the characters seemed much more inclined toward certain mundane pursuits. christopher may not have built rockets, but he did know how to blow things up. lucie has the time to write novels. matthew is very up to date on mundane culture, and folds into it easily. shadowhunting responsibilities didn't take any opportunities away from them and their individual explorations of the world.

however, if we put jessie, who had no real aspirations but hated shadowhunting, and matthew, who has plenty of aspirations but still holds onto his shadowhunter identity, on a scale.. we see that there is a middle piece missing, which is the one you described--someone who hates shadowhunting and has outside aspirations. and boy oh boy do i think that would be such an interesting character. especially the way you described it!!

i think in the same vein of children of shadowhunters who left to marry a mundane finding themselves pulled back into the world, it would be really interesting to see children of ascended shadowhunters kinda being enticed by the mundane. ofc shadowhunter blood rings true and all that but i can see there being a sort of romanticization of this world they live in but not of, that their parent(s) got to experience fully and yet all they know of it is how to protect it..

which rounds itself back to your last point so well! because really they should know more about the people and the world they are called to protect. and i think if shadowhunter society kinda becomes dismantled and decentralized (bc lbr something seriously drastic has to change politically).. it really only makes sense. also it's much nicer of an ending than um.. all shadowhunters losing their role completely. not to make a pjo reference, but i feel like it would almost be like switching from everyone being year-rounders at camp half-blood to those who just come for the summer. it would be interesting to see what causes that sort of change, if the threat of demons becomes neutralized enough for them to function in that way. it would also be interesting to see just how much more can be accomplished in terms of art and science when the nephilim aren't so restricted to training and battle and death.

Re the Israel situation: how are you doing, mentally and physically? Are you (relatively) safe?

So like here's thing.

Physically I am safe. I have yet to end up in a place without a safe room during an alarm - I also managed to be in a place that wasn't under attack during the first 24h bc I was at my parents' place; my actual apt and workplace were, however, major targets, and I've already experienced one alarm and several large booms today.

Luckily as of right now all my friends and family are alive. My brother hasn't been called into reserves yet, but I do know several people who have been, or who are in active duty and are suddenly being called into combat. Frankly, I'm terrified for all of us. I'm fully aware that there is every chance I'm going to end this thing going to funerals, multiples.

I am in the unfortunate position of literally being unable to avoid the news, as I work in a news org subtitling the live segments, which right now is... all the segments. I've already cried today at work as a young girl described her grandmother being murdered and the terrorist who killed her filming her dead body, using her own phone, and putting it on her private Facebook.

It doesn't feel real. I pulled a shift yesterday that was nearly 12 hours long, and then I got up to a siren, and then I had to head to work. I see the numbers rise - 700 Israelis dead, 400 in gaza; 2500 injured Israelis, 2300 gazans. I was closely following the story of the peace music festival down south that was purposefully targeted and the way those people were systematically slaughtered, and then I went online and saw people celebrating over 260 bodies of innocents. Some of them were tourists, bedouins, Arab citizens of Israel. Plenty are themselves activists who've been protesting for 10 months against the current government. But it's dead Jews, so I suppose that's okay.

Those 260 bodies are a so far kinda deal, by the way. They stopped counting.

It's so frustrating to see the kind of rhetoric spread online, the misinfo, the one sided claims. The frankly complete misunderstanding of what is happening here even among leftist Jews, let alone the insane amount of antisemitism and islamophobia and racism in the discourse in general.

Mentally? Mentally I am not okay. I'm losing friendships. I'm blocking dozens of people a day. I am very quickly finding out that there is nowhere safe for me to be, except right here where I am. The people around me who share my plight and are trying to survive and help others as much as they can. Mentally I've been in a hard place for a very long time, but I thought I was getting better, and I don't know what's going to happen now.

as if one isn't worthy of it unless they love themselves

love isn't something you earn with special credit. it's something you're given in spite of and because of who and what you are.

we all know people who are given love and understanding who are essentially human shit stains. if you don't know them, you've heard of them. and that is what it is. it is probably better that such people are given love rather than nothing or hate.

but what of the opposite? the people who SHOULD be given love and understanding but are not? some people go their whole lives never receiving or finding anyone to love or to be loved by.

for many reasons. but there are times when it is no fault of their own. they are surrounded by people who don't understand. perhaps they are strange and people are strange to them. maybe they are intimidating and/or intimidated by others.

and these people - the touch and love starved - are often told to "love themselves first" or are blamed for their predicament. or worse yet they're "reminded" that 'relationships aren't everything'.

sort of how most people are reminded that money isn't everything and it doesn't equate to happiness.

we need money bc of this system we're in.

we need love/understanding/connection bc of what we are.

now.. i would consider myself aplatonic, aromantic and asexual 99% of the time. bc 99% of people just aren't for me. that ive met, obv

and i'm finding that's what matters more. whether they're able to really understand ME. sure. we can relate to each other's situations bc we are alive. but love/understanding is different between those who truly care and get one another.

relationships in 2023... i don't know about them. so many people seen to have flimsy/insubstantial connections. even the people that shouldn't.

and nowadays "red flag" more often means "something i don't like" than something that is a real problem. and there are those who LIKE toxicity. who run from health. we've all done self destructive things. and what a sweet way to die - to kill oneself with love that is bad for you.

rather than to grow. but it's not linear. it doesn't make sense.

I want to say smth and you always seemed like a person who thinks objectively, so excuse me for a harsh topic :

I am kinda tired of stans on Twitter especially expecting their favs to speak about political issues and calling them various names whenever they don’t do it. I acknowledge and agree that big names like f.e Taylor Swift , Ariana, Kim K ( fuck her) or even Snc using their platforms to spread awareness is very much helpful and as much as i wish they could do it, i also understand why a lot of famous names do not want to involve themselves in political issues and tbh it’s not their duty to do so. There is no single situation like this that is simple and on top of that there is plenty fake informations , fake charities, fake news surrounding always such political issues. And to clarify i am and always will be supporting freedom of Palestinial , Congo, Sudan or Ukrainian people, because you will never see or hear me supporting killing and massacring innocent people , their lives and their homes. And that is why it also irritates me when i see people on the Internet focusing more who shared how many informations, who did not share at all , instead of actually focusing on seriousness of what is happening on this world currently. Because things are not looking well and other people suffer shouldn’t be used in a way to drag those who just decided to stay silent. Are they right for this? No, but they are not also wrong for it ( ik it sounds weird, but still). I have seen many celebrities getting dragged even when sharing information about at least Palestine. i get what you're saying, and i agree with you for the most part.

first off, there needs to be a distinction between celebs and influencers. bc sure, snc have a good amount of money. but someone like taylor swift, who is basically worth a BILLION… she can do a lot more than snc could. than most influencers could.

Idk that people think he's super especially morally bad, but I hardly see him written as anything other than One Of Shredder's Bad Guys, but I actually think he's very compelling! An orphan who grew up on the streets, joined a life of crime young to make a living. Stole from Shredder, and was indebted to Shredder if he wanted to be released from prison. Like, he doesn't really CARE about Shredder's goals, he's just kinda, like.... stuck. He's not a GOOD guy, or a MORAL guy, but I don't think he's evil or cruel for the sake of it. And I have some empathy for his situation.

Plus, I like his dynamic with Raph :P The small amount of it we get to see.

i think theres something interesting to be said abt humans, like the vast majority of mammals, being inherently, unavoidably hierarchical creatures, and of the almost bound-to-fail nature of any system which seeks to fully deny or dismantle this and which does not provide adequate ways to manage this. and sure, theres definitely plenty to be said in thinking of how to build a better society abt hierarchies being inherently prone to exploitation - bc thats what happens when humans have power over others - and how it may be better to try to build societies with as little hierarchy as possible in order to avoid this as much as possible. and yet we cannot elimiate them entirely, and making it taboo to acknowledge they exist does not help

and this isnt because of class, but rather the nature of parent-child relationships and, after that, young-old relationships. and theres something to b said abt female-male relations too but i dont feel like writing a whole thing abt that now. and this isnt even getting to the relationship between humans and the natural world and divinity

the very first relationship that every human experiences, the child-parent, or child-family/adult community/tribe etc relationship, is inherently unequal and power imbalanced due to the nature of biological reality. all infants, toddlers, and young children are inherently vulnerable, weaker physically and psychologically, unknowing, innocent, less wise. all infants etc are entirely dependent on adult/reproductive age females for feeding, care, affection, and the teaching of the first skills with which our brains, cognitive abilities, and bodies cannot properly develop. and while males do often play a role in this, before the domestication of lactating animals and the creation of modern medicine, infants were indeed entirely dependent first and formost on lactating females for survival... a child is inherently different and "unequal" (not meaning less valuable etc) than an adult; theres no way around this. and for the sake of survival, yes, a child must be taught a level of obedience, respect, and following what is being told to them to do, or else they risk hurting themselves or even getting themselves killed - and they must be taught this before they can reason why they are being told to do things. "dont go to the river you will get eaten" "dont leave the tribe in the middle of the night you will die" "dont eat hot coals and poisonous berries you will die" "be quiet when i tell you to be bc if not the predator will know where we are." the lives of children arent ruled by concepts of "freedom" and "liberty," but rather by a hierarchy which they must, for survivals sake, be taught to respect. and yes. this hierarchy, like all of them, is prone to abuse - and it is infact the most out of any human one, as it is often said, children are the most vulnerable group, always, and the group with the least rights. and yes, this power imbalance is often horribly abused bc children are easy to isolate, control, exploit, subjugate, etc etc etc. however, there is literally no way whatsoever to eliminate it, and thus we must grapple with how this hierarchy ought to be one based on decency, respect, mutual responsability, love, etc, and how to create systems which will prevent abuse, help in cases of it, etc

and, even after this, there is a hierarchy between those who are younger, and those who are older. many animals have this - if we look at matriarchal orcas and elephants for example, the family group is lead by and dependent on the elder female matriarch who, with the knowledge and wisdom of routes to travel, dangers, food, etc etc etc that she had aquired throughout the decades guides the group and teaches the younger ones what she knows. similarly, i have never seen a case of any sort of human community ever who does not have a young-old hierarchy, and a hierarchy of leadership. even in commuties, peoples, tribes which i would consider lived and live better than the predominant modern system nowadays, they all have a hierarchy and leader, weather somewhat chosen by the people or elders or not - and often, though not alwsys, when we look at tribal peoples and communal peoples, this is an elder. this is also why basically every single culture on the planet has concepts or had concepts of respecting elders, learning from elders, etc - because for much of human history, we have indeed been dependent on their acquired knowled and wisdom. does this mean all elders are to be listened to no matter what and theyre always right tho - definetely not.

but there is definitely something to be said in all this abt humans being inherently bound to hierarchy through the very nature of our biology and the process of birth, childhood, agening, and death. it is simply unavoidable, it just is

and trying to take things to the exteme of saying all hierarchy and all power imbalanced are inherently bad and must be abolished, then, is an unachievable and extremist, detached, far fetched goal. i also dont think it leads to anything good. slightly similarly to how "communism" in the soviet world didnt actually abolish class conflict - it just created new classes, those with the party and those not, but made it Taboo to acknowledge the existence of these classes despite their incredibly obvious presence,,, a society so obsessed as many are nowadays with everyone being perfectly equal all the time and the same and all power imbalanced inherently being evil is just. bound to fail. because no matter what, we cannot avoid power imbalances. and thus must have a morality and system which understand how to deal with them - as many traditional systems around the world have. how to, when "freedom" and "equality" in the modern western sense arent achievable or desired, wr can equalize these imbalances in a different way - through respect, mutual responsability, mutual dependence, care, compassion, exhange, etc

Two men regain consciousness while chained to pipes at either end of a filthy bathroom. As the two men realize they've been trapped by a sadistic serial killer nicknamed "Jigsaw," they realize they must complete his perverse puzzle to live.

JayBell: We finally cross the first of another famous horror movie franchise off our list. I'm happy that this one is less of a slasher and more of a psychological horror movie with slasher-esque elements. It's way more interesting to watch two potential victims be pit against each other in sadistic mind games than watch a group of idiots stumble around and get killed. It is much gorier than I anticipated, which I neither really dislike nor like, but it does effectively up the stakes for the victims in the story.

I like the setup of this movie. Just put two very different victims together, seemingly strangers, and force them into this terrible scenario. I actually appreciate how the two men didn't immediately try to kill the other person to save themselves. I think the movie does a great job balancing moments in which they work together and moments in which they can be a little more selfish.

The big twists of the movie are okay. Like we predicted the most obvious one almost immediately because truly there isn't that many characters in the movie. So by process of elimination you already know who the bad guys are. But the final final reveal I didn't quite predict, even though it seems obvious in retrospect too. Also, that's a very risky plan for Jigsaw. What if he had to sneeze? That would be so embarrassing for him.

I know the one surviving cop with the dead partner is experiencing some kind of mental breakdown, but does he seriously try to go after Jigsaw on his own, no calling the police, no backup, no nothing? He even interrupts a home invasion without calling the police. Yeah, that seems smart. Maybe he parted on bad terms and holds a grudge? Let's go with that.

In the end, I'm not sure we're gonna continue with the series, but never say never. There are plenty of Halloweens in the future.

Anzie: I have to be honest as awful as this movie is and as much as I have no desire to ever see it again or anymore sequels due to the gore and sounds these movies have, I appreciate the actual existence of a plot. I went into this thinking that it was just a weird puppet that keeps people in a torture maze until he murders them. I knew the second Michael Emerson popped up he was involved though, he gives that vibe plus being the same time his two shows were popular it makes sense. Butttttt I always thought that he was working with the killer not bc the killer was forcing him too with the threat of death. And for the actual guyyy to lay entirely stillllllllll in the room with the other two guys???? And not react!?!?! I do like how the guy says the dead guy’s blood (his blood? Which isn’t possible?? But whatever!) has enough poison that it would make you wanna die- and meaning the treatment he received for cancer, not poison as part of the game- so it’s alluded to being him from the start but you don’t see it until looking back. Can we discuss two other things tooo. If your child says a man’s in her room. Take her seriously. Pls. The reaction to that in this movie is just insane. And what’s with the pig mask?? Never ever explained but what the whattt. Absolutely terrifying. Anyway. I feel bad about the end bc the guy’s like oh you had the key all along. But he was in a tuuuubbbb and it went down the drainnnnn. That was so awful. After everything. And why didn’t it pick up with the dr guy finding the cops or anything?? Tooo I got really big Seven vibes- but that was better?? I guess bc it was from the detectives perspective? IDK.

If her bodily autonomy was truly respected. If her choices always mattered… and if she was truly respected as High Lady, she would’ve gotten that information immediately, which she was wholly and non-negotiably entitled to.

Seeing as their bargain was going to take Rhys’ ass out too, he had ample time to, at the very least, prepare to die.

He had the time to settle his affairs between himself and others. He had a choice on how he’d go out.

And yet he robbed Feyre of that and fully intended to what? let her die unaware as to why her pregnancy magically became complicated and she was in searing pain?

But putting that dumpster fire of an arc aside…

I think Feyre’s inexperience and lack of proper preparation leading up to/and after she was given the title of High Lady of the Night Court is why she isn’t actually viewed as true equals in POWER/OVERALL AUTHORITY to Rhysand.

SJM fully keeps Feyre’s mind and plans purposefully underdeveloped.

When in actuality, what 19-22 year olds do any of us know that don’t have a literal list of 1,000,000 ways they’d better and change the world they live in?

So many of us would be visionaries, artists, and groundbreaking activists if we had even an ounce of the physical, magical and POLITICAL POWER that Feyre is given.

Hell… give me three months, all the power at Feyre’s disposal ALONG WITH the devoted magic tank that is Rhysand and I’d be ushering in a new world order within the next year and six months. LIKE COME ON.

Within this AU, I think it's unlikely that Sasuke will have a redemption arc bc Izuna would never support it. For Izuna, Sasuke doesn't have to redeem himself for anything. Konoha has always been a mistake. It's more likely that Izuna will fill Sasuke's head with all the reasons why he should never return to Konoha (that is, if the village is still standing). I doubt Naruto will be able to convince Sasuke, Izuna has a silver tongue and very valid arguments. I can imagine him saying: "Why do you have to redeem yourself? It was Konoha who oppressed us, killed our family and stole our Sharingan! They are the ones who should redeem themselves; ask for our forgiveness and make amends! See, they are not doing any of that! They are forcing you to bow down to them!" Then Team Taka leaves under the pretext of redeeming themselves but in reality they are escaping through the front door. 🤫shhh no one knows that Izuna took Madara's Rinnegan and has plans to use it.

Want to know more about this? I'll tell you! Technically the Rinnegan belongs to Izuna (he gave his eyes to Madara before he died) so he's just taking back what's his. Izuna is totally the type of person with a grudge. He gave his eyes to Madara with the promise of protecting the Clan and annihilating the Senjus. Guess what Madara actually did? (He had his reasons, okay? There were Uchihas defecting; his people were losing faith in him and he had to think about the civilians, the elderly, the orphans and the widows. Madara couldn't continue the war like this) - but Izuna isn't taking this into consideration. He's pissed about everything. So he takes his brother's Rinnegan and says he'll do what needs to be done.

After convincing Sasuke that Konoha will always be shit, Team Taka leaves and bam! Dimensional Travel! Oh the Rinnegan is truly so OP. Izuna loves it. He's so, so proud to be an Uchiha. (Uchihas are totally demigods, that's Canon!)

Then they show up somewhere back in the Warring States period. Now here's a plot point. Izuna could arrive after his counterpart dies and take his place (and use his new powers to annihilate the Senju; see aniki this is how you do it) or he could go further and kill Butsuma before he has any children (then no Hashirama or Tobirama will be born, how wonderful), or he could send Hashirama to the desert dimension and let the Senju jubokku dry up, or to the fire or ice dimension. All of these options sound great for Izuna. While Tobirama... oh well. it's got to be something really creative to make him suffer. Izuna is still thinking about how to get revenge on him. Anyway, I can think of many more, but that's it for now. Izuna is having his brain working overtime for several other possibilities – (don't forget, he's still an Edo Tensei. He'll live forever and will have plenty of time to raise the Uchiha and annihilate his enemies)

Somewhere in the background Izuna is distracting his brother so he won't miss (or pity) the Senju. Maybe Izuna supports the idea of building a village (without Senjus). Madara will surely be too busy to watch Izuna's schemes too closely. (The silly older brother does whatever his precious little brother wants.) Sasuke is surrounded by relatives who like him. It's not the same as having his first family back, but at least it helps heal his wounded heart. The grandmothers of the clan dote on him, the girls still smile and blush around him (but at least he's not being harassed so it's not so bad), he trains with other Uchihas his age, hears a lot of stories about the clan and immerses himself in the culture he was deprived of knowing and living. The rest of Team Taka is there, causing chaos and complaining about prehistoric life without technology, but they are happy to be together.

Mermaid shapeshifter Izuna terrorizes the shinobi world,, Sasuke doesn't know what he just unleashed.

Ok actually but like. Suigetsu's shape-shifting but bc Izuna has a fire chalra nature, make it liquid fire shape-shifting. Fuckin, fire mermaid Izuna. He has an awful time retaining his form and actually for the first chunk of time, him being in that tube is genuinley just for the best. He keeps turning into liquid fire with no real solid body and can't put himself back together for hours.

Izuna hears his brother is still alive and running Akatsuki and is so down to clown till he realizes THATS NOT HIS FUCKING BROTHER HOW DARE YOU USE HIS NAME

Anyways oh my god Izuna on team Taka,,

He and Sasuke would be SUCH a dynamic actually, they look alike so much?? Sasuke doesn't recognize him but he's clearly a close relation, so there's some mystery there. Sasuke is like super shaken by finding a member of his clan and Izuna, by that point aware that apparently the rest of his clan is dead, is sticking to him like GLUE. Sasuke is bitchy little brother coded and Izuna understands this is probably karma bc he is also bitchy little brother coded

They probably clash a lot, especially bc both are expecting to be in charge here, but ultimately I think they'd get along better than Sasuke does most people, and there's also that bonus vulnerability of like. Izuna is an older Uchiha boy who's trying to brother him (with a noticeably different brother-ing style to Itachi too) and Sasuke has been alone for so, so long.

Sasuke accidentally calls him nii-san then promptly has several break downs about it

Suigetsu and Izuna either get along ALARMINGLY well or they hate eachother. I think I wanna go with the first bc it sounds more fun. They couldn't talk to eachother in the tanks but they could still see eachother, so maybe they kind of developed some sort of code to communicate?

They are "cause problems on purpose" friends. They're also "wdym I can't kill him???" *looks of genuine confusion* buddies. They're giving Sasuke the biggest headache actually, someone stop them. If you leave them to "take care" of a problem, there will be carnage.

Also, like, Izuna literally has Suigetsu's DNA in him. That's a thing.

Mmm maybe some complex thoughts ab how Izuna has effectively become a bloodline thief against his will (the ULTIMATE taboo for shinobi from his era) and he's like, actually fucked up about it.

Running joke where they refer to each other as cousins, could be funny. They argue over who's the bastard child (it's Izuna obviously but he won't just take that title lying down)

Izuna is like, in his 20s, and Karin is around 16 or 17 at this time I think?? She definatley has a bit of a crush on him (which helps take the edge off Sasuke) but like, he's not acknowledging that beyond patting her on the head. She'll get over it eventually. (Sasuke hides behind Izuna when Karin is trying to flirt w him and Izuna absoloutley laughs at them both)

Izuna is actually really impressed w Karin's sensing abilities specifically. I think he'd be a bit on edge around her at first, bc Uzumaki -> Senju ally. But he'd quickly assume she's a deserter (he has no idea the Uzumaki are pretty much wiped out rip) and becomes cautiously chill after a minute or two (also when he first escapes, he REALLY doesn't have the luxury to pick and choose his allies. He's instantly attached to Sasuke and cautiously fond of Suigetsu, and Karin seems to have Sasuke's trust at least, so he'll keep an eye on it but otherwise trust Sasuke's judgment)

Izuna and Karin besties arc where they paint eachothers nails is a must. I love the take that Izuna is really into fashion n stuff and he and Karin should like, trade hair tips or smthn. Karin knows modern soap brands where as Izuna bought his soaps from clan vendors who no longer fucking exist, so like, it's definatley helpful.

Karin is the only one of them to have any real hint of where tf Izuna came from (tho even she doesn't have the full details) it'd be cool if she was the one to figure out more details ab his general mystery— maybe something about her chakra sensing gives her a hint as to how old he really is?? Or she finds the paper trail that hints towards the bodies being mixed up???? Idk but she deserves to have an "aha!" moment

Also Izuna's medical knowledge/standards are NOT up to modern and Karin is so mad about it, she's giving him hella lessons on first aid n shit and he's very, very interested in all this free medical knowledge

I know the least about Jugo so bear with me on this one pls— I think Izuna would find Jugo to be pretty fascinating as a person actually. He enjoys tentatively poking him with sticks, and comes to genuinley like him as a person (when he's calm) pretty quickly

Also cats love Izuna so he gets bonus points from Jugo bc of that, they can bond while petting Izuna's contracted cats or smthn idk

Yeah I really don't know much ab Jugo so that's all I have to offer sorry

Ok let's backtrack a bit, back to Orochimaru ->

Fun scene towards the very start of the fic, where Izuna still has no fucking clue what's going on, but recognizes Orochimaru as a member of the Orochi clan. He says as much, and Orochimaru has to pause.

No one's mentioned his clan to him in years. They haven't been relevant in Konoha since Orochimaru was born— even before that, they were barley relevant. Izuna should not know who they are.

(The only reason he does know is bc they had a neutral to positive relationship w the Uchiha back in the warring era, and Izuna had visited them once before)

Immediatley, Orochimaru is squinting at this guy. He's giving Danzo a ring asking who exactly he got sent over, but Danzo doesn't actually have anything to offer him??? The paperwork is a mess and there were a LOT of Uchiha. He's not registered as a shinobi tho.

Hmmmm.... ok.

Orochimaru is suddenly aware there's some kind of mystery here now, which is dangerous for Izuna. Izuna is, again, in enemy territory, and he's able to pick up on the fact that Orochimaru doesn't actually know who he is. This ofc means that HE sure as hell won't be telling him.

Maybe he bares his teeth and sarcastically says he's the second coming of Uchiha Madara (not even that big of a lie when u think ab it)

Pivoting time ->

Izuna is listed in the data books as like, being equally as talented as Madara and I think we should talk ab that more actually

I love Tobirama but he really did get him by surprise

Izuna just got cocky and taken by surprise!!

HE DIDNT EVEN GET COCKY HE JUST LOGICALLY DIDNT EXPECT TOBIRAMA TO FUCKING INVENT TELEPORTATION

Then he went down in the history books both in canon and out of it as the weakest of the 4, that's so tragic

Izuna gets mermaid edo tenseid and (once people know who he is) everyone is like "Ok well at least he's uhh. The weakest of the 4 right?? I mean tobirama killed him when they were like only 19/20 so we'll probably be fine???"

Then he just fucking bodies them all bc hes a nightmare actually AND on whatever special test trial edo tensei steroids they gave him

Izuna is fueled on rage and spite and he's full up on both

Imagine he gets the full story of everything that happened while he was dead too, like.

Ok so Madara goes against his EXPRESS dying wishes and makes his village. (what the fuck!!) Then backs out (yay!!) but in an awful way that effectively fucks over the entire clan for years to come (nii-san what the FUCK)

Then gets literally backstabbed by Hashirama (HE FUCKING TOLD YOU!!! WHAT DID HE FUCKING SAY!!!!!)

Then the Uchiha seem to thrive and like. Ok. He's still mad about it, but at least something... kind of nice came out of it.

THEN BOTH THE VILLAGE AND MADARA'S(?????) SCHEMES KILL THEIR ENTIRE CLAN

Izuna is SO mad at literally everyone, holy shit. The only one safe from his rage is Hikaku, god rest his poor, poor soul

Actually, I think it'd be funny if Izuna was like, indescribably extra awful mad at everyone— but then is like. Normal mad amounts at Tobirama, who was a bitch but at least didn't seem to carry on a personal fucking vendetta against the Uchiha like EVERYONE ELSE INCLUDING FUCKING MADARA FOR SOME GODDAMN REASON

Izuna is going like, "FUCK you, FUCK you, OH, EXTRA FUCK YOU—" then squints at Tobirama and goes "...fuck you." Then goes back to screaming

To be clear, Tobirama absolutely contributed to the end of the Uchiha, but like. A) it'd be funny, and B) at least his seemed slightly less on purpose than literally everyone else

There's also I think a difference of like. Izuna never expected Tobirama to suddenly turn around and be pro Uchiha

Where as everyone else (again, including his brother!!) Was like. A genuine betrayal

Tobirama fucking over the clan was never a surprise

He never pretended to be on their side (like Hashirama lowkey did)

Tobirama vs Izuna but it's them getting to relive their rivalry where as Izuna vs literally anyone else is emotionally charged as hell and filled with demented screaming

Tenahpu rumbled at you. Despite yourself, you found it comforting. It was raining hard in the moonless night, and you had just woken from a nightmare, the details of which had already faded away. The bad feelings remained however.

Tenahpu had shaken you awake. You were both embarrassed and grateful. The negative emotions stewed in your brain, until you couldn’t take it. Big tears rolled down your cheeks. You sobbed quietly in the dark.

A hand closed around your upper arm. Tenahpu growled your name questioningly. The apparently tender action made you sob harder. You heard rustling. Tenahpu’s torso pressed into your back. Its arm slipped around your waist. It rumbled again, deep in its chest.

Sniffling, you relaxed into it as it embraced you. Rumbling and clicking, Tenahpu’s mandibles tickled your neck. It was nuzzling into your shoulder. You felt its hot breath on your skin. Shuddering, you spoke in a small voice, “Why are you toying with me?” Crying, you didn’t resist as Tenahpu gently rolled you over.

Its golden eyes confronted you. A finger traced your cheekbone. It clicked softly a few times, then growled its name for you. You wondered desperately what it was saying. Why did it act like a friend when it was exactly the opposite? It clearly regarded your kind as prey. You had watched the pile of human skulls grow nearly daily. It also brought trinkets that must have been from the strangers who killed the buffalo. It was the only way you could explain them. But what did it want from you? It brought no other live prey back to camp. It had given you a name. It gave you plenty… but what was it going to ask of you?

He hummed quietly to his human as she recovered from a bad dream. Tomorrow, he and Amishta would be picked up. This hunt had been entertaining, but his most valuable prize was no regular trophy. His mandibles clicked together; it would be tricky to get her onboard, but he could do it. The others would learn - hands off.

Amishta sighed. He felt the swell of her chest press against his muscled torso as she did so. Mildly titillated, he grunted. He wondered what she looked like under all the coverings she wore. Was she like his kind…? Why was he curious?

You felt Tenahpu shift its body towards yours. It rubbed your side lightly, golden eyes focused on yours. Realization crept up on you very slowly. It rumbled softly, its large hand coming to rest on your hip. Gulping, you blurted out, “You’re… a… a male? I mean… man… like… like one of my kind? Like one of Nʉm ʉn ʉʉ?”

He blinked at you, then clicked once. Everything else momentarily forgotten, you put a hand to his chest. He didn’t react except to tighten his grip on your hip very subtly. You slowly moved your hand down. Eventually your progress was stopped by his belt. By this time he was breathing noticeably harder.

You felt a bulge pressing insistently against your body. Your mouth went dry. He was a man.
