I think one of the biggest reasons the "Charles is racist" accusations did not stick because the Sussexes also accused Catherine along with Charles. And noone could believe that of Catherine. So it took the wind out of those sails.
Of course, this could just be my own personal bias, but Catherine being racist is just not believable to anyone, even the ones who claim not to like her. Subconsciously most people would go back to their own impression of her when thinking about these accusations and she has such anhuge body of positive presentation (that is, she presents a very positive image, happy countenance, positive body language) all through the years.
Accusing Catherine along with Charles completely trashed the Sussexes years of PR of the BRf being racist. And now most people dismiss Meghan's grievances as her being sensitive or manipulative or lying.
And for once, Charles did not clap back at all. He maintained a very dignified silence and happily went on with his business being the "lovable granpa king" PR construct that he likes to present as.
Which brings me to this - The BRFs policy of never complain never explain seems to really work. Whenever they have reacted immediately and played PR games with Harry and Meghan it backfires. But their long terms stratgies with HnM work well.
Do you think it's good PR management and advisors or are the principals - Charles, William, Camilla, Anne, Catherine - naturally smart, strong people who are completely over Harry's shenanigans. Or do they dislike Meghan so much, she is so transparently maniacal, that they do not want to engage with her at all?
I really marvel at the way Harry and Meghan seem to eventually self-destruct every single time all on their own.
That's a good question. I think some of the principals are naturally smart enough to see through these shenanigans because they understand it's connected to Meghan and they want nothing to do with Meghan. I would put William, Kate, and Anne in this category.
Other principals have strong advisors and when they listen to the advisors, it's really, really effective. I put Charles in this category. When Charles listens to his advisors (which probably include William and Anne) and he honors "never complain, never explain" policy, it works. It grey rocks Harry and Meghan, they can't handle it, and they spin out faster and harder. But Charles has a tendency to go rogue and do his own thing every once in awhile, and when he does that, it feeds into Harry and Meghan and gives them the engagement they want.
Camilla, I think, straddles the fence. Sometimes it feels like she's doing what the advisors advise because at the end of the day, it's her husband and she wants him to be happy and having his wayward son back is probably what he wants. But other times it feels like her own smarts are guiding her interactions (or lack thereof) because Camilla understands self-preservation better than most after what she's been through.
I feel like Sophie and Edward fall in the "strong advisors" camp but I just don't know a whole lot about them personally. I think Sophie's background in PR (before she married in) helped her and Edward navigate some tricky situations so I feel like because she has that background in PR, she's fully aware of how important it is to listen to advisors because she used to be the advisor.
Most of the Yorkies are probably in the "strong advisors" camp but they're not usually listening. Edo is definitely in the "naturally cautious/smart" camp with William and I think he's brought Bea onto that side now as well, or he's at least serving as Bea's advisor and it's worked well for her.
I do think each and every one of them are all so over Meghan, especially after how she and Harry made The Queen's and Prince Philip's funerals about them. No one wants anything to do with her anymore, not even Eugenie, to the point where she's being very obviously "NFI'd" from events involving the royal family. Like the Westminster wedding - it's a pretty clear sign where the Sussexes stand that they weren't even invited, despite the PR claiming they graciously turned the invitation down so Charles and William could attend instead.
(Because let's be real. When has Meghan ever put someone else first before herself?)

Music in The Loyal Pin, Episode 4
Welcome back to my music rambles. Buckle up, creampuffs, this is going to be a long one. Luckily, it was very easy to structure. Let me tell you about four different types of kisses.
Handkiss – Big emotions
Last week I talked about a piece I call “Big emotions.” It is connected to situations in which our princesses (Pin is the princess of my heart, and nobody can take that title away from her) have a lot of feelings. Snake bites. Tears on letters. Happy reunions. And, in this episode, giddy memories of a kiss to the cheek, as well as the angry chuckage of rocks into a pond.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although this piece sounds relatively tame, there’s a lot going on in the music, especially the harmonies. A harmony consists of all the notes that accompany the melody at any given time of a piece, plus the notes of the melody itself. Harmonies are the melody’s clothing. They are the bed in which the melody stretches and writhes.
Usually, there is one harmony that everything comes back to. Some call it first chord; some call it tonic. I call it home. Our piece starts out at home in D major. So far, so snug. But then, suddenly, there’s a c in the accompaniment and the first music theorists are already raising their eyebrows: there’s no c in the D major scale. The music is trying to throw us off balance. The whole phrase is repeated and then there’s even more shenanigans in the harmonies. First we greet a chord that is a welcome guest in the house of D major: B minor, its sad little sibling. But suddenly, B flat major appears. A foreigner! Not one, but two notes that do not belong to the D major scale. B flat major waves through the open door before the melody comes to rest in A major, another regular in the household, and there it stays without ever going back to D major.
The whole thing happens in the span of seconds, but it leaves us with several instances of startled surprise and a quality of unfinished-ness. Much like a character grappling with a big emotion, our ears must come to terms with what we’ve just heard.
Tumblr media
We hear the melody of the piece one last time at the end of the episode, when Anil is kissing Pin’s hand. It’s only the beginning of the melody, and there’s hardly any accompaniment. No harmonies to throw us off guard. The piece only lasts for a few seconds, hinting at big emotions to come before it floats away.
Butterfly kiss – Anil’s theme
Anil’s theme has undergone a lot of changes in the course of the first four episode. It starts out as a sweet, playful melody that matches Pin’s wistful one. It is often played by a glockenspiel but is fully orchestrated in moments in which Anil twirls for her family. Or sneakily returns from the UK without anyone knowing.
Anil brings back with her a new version of her motif. This one we can hear when she is plotting against the men in Pin’s life or manipulating those around her. Instead of the usual, cheery major scale we’re used to, we can hear the melody in a minor scale. Minor scales tend to sound melancholic or sad. In the piece at hand, the melody sounds sinister which, again, goes back to the harmonies underneath. Harmonies are powerful allies and even more formidable foes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 4, we can hear the minor version of Anil’s motif when she schemes against Kuea, shortly after being interrupted at the pond with Pin. We hear it again when Pin remembers Pranot trying to kiss Anil’s hand.
And then there’s a brand-new version of the motif when Pin learns about the butterfly kiss.
Tumblr media
The time signature is different now. Instead of our usual 4/4 time, we are in 3/4 time. This time measure often has a waltz-y, swaying quality to it. Together with an airy keyboard sound I cannot identify, the whole thing sounds whimsical and innocent. Anil’s theme glistens in silvery glockenspiel notes above this soundscape in a high octave. We are putting a pin (heh) in this fact, namely the use of the glockenspiel and the high pitch.
Lip kiss – Pin’s theme
Pin’s theme is a constant in the first four episodes. Sometimes we can hear the whole piece, sometimes it’s just the first three notes, but it’s everywhere. It hardly changes.
Up until that fateful moment in episode 3, when Pin becomes aware of her heartbeat when she is massaging Anil. The melody evolves. There are more notes and shorter note values. The same thing happens when Anil kisses Pin’s lips.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y’all, I don’t even know where to start gushing because this is so beautiful. As Pin has these life-changing experiences, her melody expands. It’s played by a glockenspiel now, the same instrument that has been mostly Anil’s up until that point. The tempo is off, restless. It doesn’t fit the accompaniment. Yet. Something shook Pin’s world, and she has yet to regain balance.
French kiss – Pentatonic flourish
In my last post, I promised to take a look at the pentatonic shenanigans that happen every time Anil and Pin are close. When Pin massages Anil. When Anil smells Pin’s hair. When Anil draws Pin close at the pond. When Anil kisses Pin in a way from which there is no return. Semi-quavers are drizzling on our eardrums, the measure is almost undeterminable.
Tumblr media
Pin’s theme is back to its usual piano, but it's off beat now. Accomplished, less tame. Then Anil explains the French kiss to her and leans in a second time. The accompaniment narrows to one sequence that is repeated time and again, and once more there's Pin's theme, off beat. She has found her confidence. She is part of the music, and part of something even more beautiful.
Remember the other pin I was talking about earlier? How, during the butterfly kiss, Anil’s theme is played on the glockenspiel in a high octave? Well, during the French kiss, we can hear the first three notes of Anil’s theme, on the piano. Just as Pin has borrowed Anil’s instrument, Anil is now borrowing Pin’s, and even more importantly: they're on the same instrument now. Both of their themes are reduced to the first few notes, Anil's in a low octave that we haven't heard before. The low pitch has a calming quality. It provides the foundation for the last two high piano notes: the first note of Pin's theme, played twice. In my head, Pin is saying "I ... I ...," without even knowing how to finish that sentence, and instead giving up. Giving in.
Dear friends ... this show is so bloody beautiful! I don’t even know what to do with myself. I’ve spent way too much time revelling in the soundscape of this episode, and I regret nothing. If the show ended now, there would still be heaps of things to talk about. But it's not ending. It's just starting out and that is making my undescribably happy.
The fact that the premise of the show seems designed for me (sapphic, historical, South-East Asian) tells me that The Loyal Pin is not the most lucrative story to tell. To have hundreds of people dedicating time, work and skill into telling this story, supported by the Ministry of Commerce, no less, leaves me in tears. What a journey! Thank you for travelling with me!

Headcanons for Lalo being his SO’s first please <3
Lalo being his SOs first:
A/N: I’m assuming you meant first time as in sex but I’m gonna list a few other first-times just in case you meant otherwise
Fem!reader (I can try to make a male! Version if you guys want? Lmk!)
WARNING(s): sexual stuff as well as just general Lalo shenanigans and my bad google translate/duolingo basic Spanish
First relationship:
I feel like Lalo would be very entertained by the fact that he’s your first ever experience in a relationship
I think maybe the more manipulative side of him would like that as it means he can sort of bend your interpretation of things
Though that’d hardly ever happen, only when he’s talking about business because other than that, he’s a really good boyfriend!
I can imagine him being very attentive, not in s submissive way but more in a ‘ I must protect you and look after you ‘ kind of way.
He probably worries a lot about you going out alone so he’d make sure to have guys nearby to where you are just to make sure you’re safe
‘Make sure they get home alright, hm?’
He probably also has a few of your friends on Facebook or has their numbers just in case he can’t get a hold of you ( I don’t imagine he’d talk to them otherwise, he likes to give you your own space)
A lot of teasing and kisses when you’re at home with him
“Eres tan suave, amor” he’d mutter whilst pressing his head into your hair or “¡Yo quiero comerte!”
Whether you understand Spanish or not, you certainly find his ramblings adorable
( if you don’t understand Spanish, and you ask him to teach you, he’d make a point of speaking Only in Spanish sometimes and not translating just to test your apprehension!!)
“Lo siento, amor, tienes que practicar, ¿no?”
It would sometimes get very annoying but as you understand more, you’d come to appreciate it greatly
I can imagine you picking up the swear words easily, and probably littering them around, to which he’d scold you for your language 🙄
Best believe he’s taking you on all the best dates, romantic and relaxing just for you both
First Kiss:
I think first kiss goes hand in hand with first relationship, so this would probably come more naturally
Say you’re about to leave after a date, and he leans in, you hesitate for a minute so he asks:
“You okay?”
To which you reply and explain that you haven’t kissed someone before,
He finds that really sweet, and also fuels his ego a bit knowing that he’s your first EVER kiss.
He’d probably leave you with a simple peck that night, and perhaps a few extra kisses on your cheeks and forehead.
like most I imagine he’s not fond of PDA, though can make an exception when dropping you off… is it really PDA if it’s at your doorstep or in his car?
That brings me to /proper/ kisses and making out
Probably happens in his car to begin with, like you’re feeling kind of needy so you give him a peck on the lips
He’d be really surprised that you initiated it ( he usually does ) but would go in for another kiss
You’re not sure how to make-out so you just go along with what he’s doing,
He’s pretty slow at first, and gentle just easing you into it
When you both pull back he’d comment on how good you were, even if you were pretty shitty at kissing or shy- just to get your confidence up
“you sure you haven’t done this before?”
You’d huff a laugh and shake your head, cheeks all warm and flushed
To which he just pinches one of them gently with his finger and thumb
“Eres muy lindo”
First time having sex: (nsfw)
He’s really gentle with you, seeing as he’d probably initiated it after a make out session
‘Are you sure you’re ready? I don’t mind waiting until you are’
You’d tell him you’re ready, and if you’re feeling bold you’d touch him up a bit after saying that- just to get him a little riled up
He’d be really gentle with you, and try to give you the whole 5 star experience to begin with.
He’d start by eating you out, and you’d try not to focus on how good his stache’ feels between your legs
(I can imagine that being a whole turn on icl)
He’d be pressing really soft, gentle kisses along your thighs and chest, though I don’t imagine he’d leave hickeys on purpose (he thinks they’re kind of trashy, plus he doesn’t need to mark you to let people know that you’re his)
For your first time I don’t think he’d use a condom, just because he’s heard how some people find them uncomfortable, though his pull out game is strong so don’t worry about him getting you pregnant
Unless you’re into that kind of think, definitely let him know if you want him to cum inside because otherwise, yeah
He’d probably purchase your contraceptives, though don’t get this mixed up with him not wanting kids he definitely does, he just doesn’t want to be too hasty about it
Lalo puts the love in lovemaking, he’s really sensual and attentive to your needs the first few times you do it, though as you become more adhered and comfortable to him, he’d get a bit more bold
Think different positions and being rougher with you in bed, especially if he’s had a bad day and you let him know that you’re down (whether subtly or not)
Because I can imagine you teasing him on days where he has a lot of pent up anger and frustration, which leads to the most drawn out, rough sex you could ever imagine
Though yeah, Lalo is good, admittedly so. He’s confident in his ‘abilities’.
Aftercare, for your first time and in general is something he really likes, and sometimes maybe even gets off on?
Like just washing you or seeing you all tired out after sex can get him riled up on a bad day (or even a good day, depends on his mood and what’s happened etc)
He’d lay with you for a while after sex, toy with your hair and talk to you about nothin in particular, just general ramble of his inner thoughts
If he’s feeling romantic, whilst cuddling ( he’s the big spoon. No exceptions) he’d talk to you about how happy you make him, and how he’s going to marry you one day.
He’s very affectionate in general, though it probably comes out more post-nut. He’s a sentimental guy, okay!
“You make me so happy, amor…”
“I’m gonna marry you one day, when you least expect it I’ll propose and we’ll have the most amazing wedding...”
Kisses and cuddles with Lalo truly are the best
He may even sleep for a little while after!
With you in his arms, it’s tempting to just stay there all night/day long
Especially in the colder months!
A/N: ahhh that was so fun to do!! Please send me more hc requests for Lalo, he’s so bbg it kills me

Some more stuff with that impskizz and impixl teacher AU this time with Some Kind Of Dungeoncrawl Fantasy Heist Game Akin To DnD! (but probably not with the same name)
some time after impulse and pixlriffs sort out the Misunderstanding, another teacher - Tango, who teaches Mob Spawning Manipulation and Usage - starts up a tabletop campaign and impulse, skizz, and pixlriffs are some of the people invited!
it's set largely in the Frozen Citadel and the cursed and plagued mines underneath
naturally, there are shenanigans.
impulse and skizz play their characters as obnoxiously in love. jimmy the PE teacher has ridiculous strings of bad luck but also has caught the eye of the DM. pixlriffs' rogue character is decided to have a minor psychic power of knowing when something is older or more valuable than it seems because he SOMEHOW keeps getting really high rolls on SPECIFICALLY APPRAISAL they have CHECKED this even happens when someone else is rolling different dice for him??
ren's fighter, who took a level in ice-based magic as well and flavoured it as getting lightly possessed by the Red King of the Citadel, flirts with EVERYBODY. cleo the geology teacher accidentally started a whole plotline involving lost knowledge of how to pull stuff from the resource-rich elemental plane of earth and an incredibly valuable hidden book on magically enhancing stone because she had a few questions about things like "what kind of stone is the place made of" and "what's being mined?" because she wanted to steal bits of dungeon.
tango has guest players every so often, like Doc the medical engineering professor who shows up shirtless to play a villain and flirts with Ren (and possibly actually scored) and has his character walk onto an obvious trapdoor despite Tango's warnings and then is genuinely surprised when it opens and drops his character into a wet pit, and Grian and Scar the architecture and magic students who somehow manage to scam the players into purchasing 'game performance enhancing soup'. not the characters, the PLAYERS (its just regular creamy mushroom soup with vegetables, though at least everyone agrees it does taste nice).
theyre all having a GREAT time (and subtly trying to help tango and jimmy get together)
If Tango weren't DM, they're pretty convinced Jimmy and Tango's characters would be dating. Not Tango and Jimmy, no. Their characters. Because the two are hilariously oblivious.
Cleo likes enabling the chaos. Not in a productive way, no. Just whatever chaos she can create, she does. Spawning an entirely new plotline was fun, though! (It has led to a lot of late nights of Tango asking Pix various questions which definitely are not about the campaign, no way, but please tell him about what purpose this room would have in a keep-)
It's also obligatory to bring soup now. That's Grian and Scar's punishment for their performance enhancing drugs. If they all have it then it makes the playing field even, right?

Shamash Points--Live Action nominations
All eleven people who put in an answer for this got a point! So these three are extra points, and thank you for playing!
1 point for bringing something that actually sounds like something I might find intriguing so I can only assume it's done badly to @iscahwynn
Yuri Is My Job. YIMJ tells the tale of Hime, a clinically narcissistic highschooler who is obsessed with maintaining her perfect, angelic persona in the hopes of landing a rich husband and living a life of luxury and ease. Through shenanigans, she winds up working at a yuri-themed performance cafe where the girls all pretend to be running a salon attached to the fictional St. Liebe Academy. Every girl there performs their wholesome and cutesy character interactions for the onlooking patrons while being absolute dumpster fires as soon as they can step out of sight. Hime assumes she'll run rings around the current staff, but soon learns that she's in the big leagues now when it comes to manipulating people for fun and profit.
2 points for being the exact kind of white women trash I expect to @madegeeky
Deadly Women. Complete garbage. Yes, woman that sounds as though she's absolutely swimming in Xanax, please tell me all about women who murder. The reenactments are a work of art of bad acting and color grading that makes me flashback to the 90s so hard I should sue for whiplash. But, oh, my favorite aspect, by far, is Candice Delong, former FBI profiler. All that energy the narrator is missing? Straight into her. The intensity and enthusiasm with which she says lines like "And that's when the tornado started" is beautiful. She should be both admired and judged for how hard she leans into the drama of it all, especially considering how often she speaks of women killing children. M'am, I'm gonna need you to show a bit less enthusiasm for the child murders, please. It's a glorious trash fire and I love it.
3 points for making me laugh so hard I had to read this whole thing to the dinner table to @skylineofspace
For me, the peak of shows that I am unreasonably compelled by despite being just genuinely not good is ABC’s Once Upon a Time. If one is not familiar, this show is about a group of fairytale characters that have been transported to a modern day nondescript Small Town (in Maine); we follow both the present characters who have lost their memories, as well as flashbacks to their time in the fairytale world. (Until the end of the first season where everyone gets their memories back but we still keep doing flashbacks all the time). Our viewpoint character is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming (Emma), who comes to the town to get back her son, who is now being raised by the Evil Queen. (Emma spends the majority of the show amicably co-parenting her son with the evil queen in a situation that only doesn’t count as queer-baiting because both characters are never not dating a male love interest). In the hands of a good writer, the concept of the ideal based archetypes of a fairytale being brought into contrast with the real world could make for some really interesting material! This is not the hands of a good writer. This is the hands of former Lost writers working on behalf of the Disney corporation. The specific point at which I dropped out was after they just directly re-create the plot of Frozen whole sale in the middle of season 4. All that being said, I did very genuinely find a lot of the characters to be interesting in concept and the way they interwove a lot of the fairytale backgrounds is exactly up my alley (One of the major characters is Rumplestiltskin, who is also the Beast from beauty and the beast and the son of peter pan (who is evil)).

Kin'emon & his ADHD shenanigans
Tumblr media
We all know that from all characters the most ADHD-coded is rather Luffy, BUT, while talking very much about my own ADHD and other of my friend's experience with it we come to rather interesting conclusions that i have a hard time to explain properly, but want for mor people to think about
There's some symptoms that kinda look like Kin actually have ADHD:
1. Kin'emon is absolutely fine with sudden changing themes of dialogue, getting distracted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the most basic things most people knew about ADHD is the lack of attention.
There are differences in how a neurotypical person and a person with ADHD are distracted during a conversation. Firstly, ADHD people do this much more often in general(there are only 3 examples specifically here, but I guarantee you, he still has a lot of them), secondly, to change the dialogue, it may sometimes be enough to literally "throw in" something (even if it is not related to the topic of conversation at all or isn't so important, like when Kin'emon got distracted on Sanji to joke at him, even when Kin was talking literally page before how he should find Momo and his body) and they will quickly continue this (while a neurotypical person usually either returns to the topic later, or is generally confused or asks about a sudden change of topic), thirdly, they can just drop the first topic or absolutely forget in the process what the dialogue was originally about (as in the example with Zoro, when Kin'emon is distracted during a conversation about the sword and does not bring it up at all later despite being very conflicted about it literally few panels before) and simply does not return to it anymore. Fifthly, this is all also happens due to the tendency to speak without thinking, without taking into account the time and relevance of the statement.
Also Kin can be distracted in this way not just specifically while talking, but in actions too. Brook, so that Kinemon would not be distracted by the dragon (there will be a whole point later about ADHD people's fixation on some specific goal), had to literally hold his hand like a child so that he would not run away from him in episode 606.
Tumblr media
2. His connection with Luffy.
Tumblr media
It does seems too obvious but Kin'emon cares about Luffy maybe as much as he cared about Oden, and Luffy cared about Kin as a close friend, probably on a same level he cares about Strawhats. They both got attached to each other, Kin is fine with Luffy's shenanigans, and Luffy even invite Kin'emon to join their journey when they were sailing off(plus, he even called his name firstly before Yamato and Momo(and it also means they all are honourable Strawhats as much as Vivi is, why everyone always forget that?)) There's just plenty of moments when Luffy cares about him but maybe that's for another talk.
People can argue about anything but not about Luffy having ADHD, because it's geniusly as obvious as possible tbh. This is the moment when two non-neurotipycal people understand each other's train of thoughts and quickly find a good trustful connection together.
3. His 'mastermind' plan moment.
Tumblr media
Jokes (and Kin'emon's luck) aside, it also looks like true ADHD moment. From all people who believed in this 'strategy' it was Denjiro and Kanjuro, two most close person to Kin from Res Scabbards, while for others it was obvious that it wasn't the part of plan. Persons with ADHD have a trait, in which they can kinda create of transform a bit their personality for other people when communicating, but not out of deliberate manipulation or to appear better, but by itself, without full awareness of their behavior on how they behave differently with others individually. Kanjuro and Denjiro believed that he could come up with something like this because in their eyes Kinemon seemed smarter than he is (by the way, this is also a common feature when ADHD person seems smarter than they are), while for Red Scabbards it did not work.
4. His reaction after Kanjuro's death, or to be more exactly... he's lack of reaction about it.
Tumblr media
(still my favourite meme) The fact that after whatever shit happened he didn't really thought about his, i remind you, former best friend that betrayed him in awful way, and seemed to be kinda fine would feel off, until there's one of things that ADHD people have - they are very easy to get attached to someone, but after experiencing traumatic event with someone they used to trust their mind cuts off all positve and negative memories for their own sake, kinda forcing them to just... forget about it. They still will remember if you will brought that up but it won't sound so bad for them anymore. Not thinking about what happened yet remembering how it felt. And, well, in general if there won't be any situation where they have to somehow come back to these memories they won't think about it at all mostly. It was painful in process but much easier after. So, after Kanjuro's death & betrayal Kin's mind just decided to forget everything about him, and that's why he doesn't seemed to really reflect or think about it after Raid.
5. Kin's loyalty to Oden.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Talking about how ADHD people are easily attached... It's common to not just get easily, but also deeply attached for a short period of time to them. Kin'emon could not care less about Oden chapter ago, but after seeing what kind of person he is his mind changed and Kin is now 100% wants to go with him and to die for him. And, firstly, he didn't really know him at that time, but had already decided to take such a huge turning step, and secondly, Kin never doubted his own decision, even when Oden clearly did not like their idea in first time, and thirdly also never regretted the rest of the time. Imagine changing your entire life just because of adoration over other person. Absolutely normal decision)))))))))
Other ADHD shenanigans, in short, can also include:
1. Very active gesticularity and artistry in retelling events. Kinemon is very emotional in general, but these traits are very common for ADHD people due to a very stormy imagination and a peculiar train of thought. Gesticularity, to be more clear, is one of the signs of hyperactivity.
2. Constant intrusive explanations. Everything is probably obvious here.
3. His impulsive behaviour.
It mostly all for this post. There were also things that i was able to point out but maybe I'll have it second part or add it later if i would found people getting interested in it.

Also I've been thinking on how exactly was Lautrec supposed to bring Soul of Anastacia to Fina when all Gods except for Gwyndolin left long ago 🤔
But this actually makes sense? In Dark Souls lore, Fire/Light is the source of the time as we know it! This is why time is falling apart and people who are long dead can be met again and there are time loops (our Undead being the one who sealed the Abyss even though it already happened before they existed): because Fire is currently dying! So, as for all those Golems and soldiers in Anor Londo who disappear if we "kill" Gwynevere; maybe rather than just being powerful illusions, they were from the past! Manipulating the light in the conditions of it dying can cause some time rifts, if you know what you are doing! So, by creating even an illusion of a lot of light, Gwyndolin was able to make Anor Londo a little bit actually fall into its past.
But maybe Lautrec even met Fina through one of such time rifts, and believed he knew how to do it again, even if she only exists in the past technically. Again, time becomes weird now, so.. Needless to mention that Anastacia was punished as a Firekeeper by being imprisoned and having her tongue removed, that is also a punishment she agrees with! By the Dark Souls 3 time, Firekeepers get blinded so they don't envision Age of Dark that is yet not the case at Dark Souls 1 but it is still implied Anastasia committed some sort of "herecy" against Fire, speaking of the Dark, maybe "herecy" with consequences even?
Fina was also a Goddess of Love, and Lautrec seeks her around the chamber of Gwynevere, who embodies both love and light 🤔 Fertility and light, particularly. She probably was one of Gwyn's wives then, and moreover affiliated with Light! Like, maybe Lautrec doesn't hunt just any Firekeeper for her, and it makes sense because they are helping the Fire! Not to advocate for Lautrec being more sane than this of all people but vfhggggh He'd know killing allies of Fire was NOT the way to prove devotion to HER! I really doubt she was on "occult" side of things. Except Anastacia, who either did cause something drastic against the Fire even if by accident, or was a threat of doing so (I lean more towards former variant). He wanted to kill Anastacia specifically.
There is a question whether Fina would've even approved of this sort of "gift"! On the one hand, it doesn't feel very fitting for a Goddess of Love! On the other hand, love conceptually has a scary side in which people can and will kill everything that threatens it, so that could include Fina herself seeing a Firekeeper that threatened the Fire (appointed source of life and all good things) as such threat. But I also wonder about potential consequences? Dark Souls story deals with some assumptions about player's actions; Abyss was sealed assuming the Chosen Undead sealed it, Gundyr became an Iudex assuming Ashen One defeated him. Time loops are unavoidable due to what the creeping Darkness does to the time as a concept.
Maybe likewise, it is assumed that the player will prevent Lautrec from taking Anastacia's Soul for good and giving it to Fina via weird time rift shenanigans! .....or, what if the opposite should be assumed? Maybe assuming Lautrec succeeded (or at least just informed) was the trigger when the whole Way of White learned Firekeepers have the capacity to ruin everything with envisioning the Dark and that's why Firekeepers were prohibited of meeting each other from the start (according to Darkmoon Knightess). So one rotten apple would not rot the whole basket, so to say!

I'm TRYING to re-think the order of some of the events in my RVB story-line, so it flows a little better as an actual plot (to be fair, the actual series would often leave the end of a season sort of up in the air, and come back with a non sequitur after a lot of time passes, so. shame on me for trying so hard, I guess). I have a lot more little details involved (I'll ramble about those below), but these are the BIG PICTURE aspects that everything else is framed around
The Interviews involve the Reds, Blues, former Freelancers, Doc, Locus, and a few friends from Chorus talking about what they've been through (with some flash-backs thrown in, showing what they aren't all telling). During the Vacations, Donut goes on a big spa-spree, the Grif sibs go back to Hawaii (without a big fuss, Kai may like the attention, but Grif doesn't want people bothering him about being the Famous Orange Soldier), Simmons tries to track down his family (he can't find them), Sarge goes back to sulk in Blood Gulch alone, Wash goes looking for the Triplets, Doc spends some time with Dr Grey and thinks about trying for a medical degree again, Lopez is allowed to just be by himself (and he's honestly kinda bored), Caboose goes back to the Moon, Tucker searches for Junior, Carolina attempts to dig up info about how deep Charon/Project Freelancer really got into all the crime BS, Locus tries to turn himself into the authorities on Chorus (being all "I deserve to die" about it) but Kimball gives him a "life sentence" of community service. Everybody misses each other, and are drawn back together like a bunch of planets caught in the same gravitational pull
-Sarge is contacted by a UNSC group that wants to give soldiers who were Sim Troopers and members of the Flag Zealots "new training", and he doesn't hesitate. He has fun with it for a while, and this is where he meets Poppy... she is how he finds out a lot of the people here were given the option "join this training program or face prison time", which really isn't much of an option at all. He thinks about how the Red VS Blue war was a lie, he thinks about Project Freelancer manipulating the agents, he thinks about Wash having a villain moment to avoid being locked-up, he thinks about Locus believing soldiers are supposed to kill without ever asking questions... and Papa Warcrimes decides he actually hates the military (it's a sign of the apocalypse!). Meanwhile, Carolina has finally gotten some leads about Charon, and she meets Junonia, who helps her find out more regarding the past and what Hargrove is still up to. Gene has also been around, trying to be a solo villain, but he's BARELY a one-man Team Rocket. Finally, the insidious purpose for all this new training is exposed, and Red Team (with their new member, Poppy) gets to have the spot-light when they fight the villain
-Everybody finally goes back to Earth together, and this time, a big celebration is held for their return. They spend most of their time out of armor on Earth, so the general public leaves them alone. Some fun shenanigans with everybody finding ways to amuse themselves (Sarge doesn't like going outside, the sky is too BLUE). Now that she knows where they are (thanks to the welcoming celebration), Tex finally catches up with everybody, revealing that when Epsilon Deconstructed, the information from his memories transferred back to the original Beta unit, reviving her. The Director had this whole plan for eventually bringing Allison back with a synthetic human body made from her DNA sample, but he could never make it "perfect" (Tex isn't an identical clone, more like a genetic "sibling" to Allison). She isn't the only one who found them; the parents Simmons went looking for finally show up (now that their son is a famous space hero). He's more than happy to get their attention, and they have him join their work at a bio-tech company (everybody else immediately recognizes the parents as a-holes, and the business as shady, but try telling Simmons that). Tex was initially hesitant to reveal the other AI Fragments were also revived, what with some left-over sore feelings regarding Sigma and Omega (Wash is ironically more willing to forgive them for everything; he wishes he had been able to do that BEFORE, instead of fighting against them as the Meta, and the whole spiral from there). Carolina talks through emotions with Sigma, and Omega compliments both Doc and O'malley for finding their back-bone. Everybody else is happy to get to know the Fragments better. Some Drama happens with the Reds, but Simmons finally sees his parents don't really care about him, and they all figure out that the bio-tech company has the original Alpha Unit hidden away. They rescue Church, who has the chance to be in his own synthetic body based on the Directors DNA (again, not identical, just similar)
-Everybody gets to CATCH THEIR BREATH, Caboose and Tucker have Church back, Church and Tex get to do people things, hooray! A distress call out there in space tricks Tucker into thinking Junior is in trouble, so he heads out to find his kid (most of the others join him, but a few stay behind because of recovering injures, etc). This turns out to be a trick, Hargrove and Temple are both being jerks. The rest of the gang arrives for a rescue, and Church has each of the Fragments assist his friends for the escape; for Hargrove, this was his attempt to test out a "new version" of scanning a mind to make his own AI (his tech is wonky, and will definitely kill people it scans). For Temple, he's under the impression that if he helps, he can have his own mind scanned, thus giving him a "recreation" of Biff from his memories. Hargrove REALLY wants people who have interacted with the AI Fragments as experiments, since he thinks there is important data to be found from minds like that. Temple just wants to kill the main group because he hates their guts, and it isn't FAIR, why do they get their dead friend back? Also, everybody finds the AI file for Sheila! When things settle down, Grif and Simmons talk, and at last they are on the same freaking page
-After the rescue, Hargove escapes again, and the group hears a distress call from Chorus. Some old problems are going on again, so they swing by to help out. Hargrove has one last-ditch effort to get what he wants in terms of AI experiments... Felix didn't just come back wrong, he came back WORSE. Well, everybody has the chance to work through some unresolved negative emotions aimed at him (Kimball, Locus, Tucker- everybody gets a stab in!). Felix wants to use his sword again, but it recognizes him as "dead". He tries to use a temple that "revives echoes" for key holders, but this just gives him a ghost of Doyle ("It was mine before it was yours"). The Echo also brings back other AI like Santa, who have been programmed to make certain events happen... while everybody tries to deal with Felix AND finally catch Hargrove for good, the Echo creates a whole third problem. At last, a group of aliens arrive, alerted by the Echo, and in the group is- Junior!
-Some happy family reunion time for Tucker and his boy. Junior explains what he's been doing for so long; he wasn't trying to avoid his father, but there are dangerous groups out there trying to kill him, and he's been hiding while also trying to save others. The strange "prophecy" about him, as well as things involving a "Great Destroyer" is indeed true (Gary admits he kind of just made up what it was about, but it really WAS real!) have become more urgent. Somebody who wants to take over and wipe-out anybody who opposes them has been targeting Junior. There are also many other half human/aliens like him, an attempt to create as many potential "prophecy children" as possible, but all were rejected by their human parents and only seen as tools by the other aliens (except for Junior, who is actually loved by his dad... even though they haven't been able to spend much time together). Another temple out in space supposedly has the power to give "continuous life", and the villain intends to use that to win. Tucker and the others try to protect Junior, but the temple doesn't work the way they all think...
-Back on Earth again, life seems to give them all a break... but unusual things begin happening. It eventually becomes clear that there are "new AI gods" toying with them (some are just playful, a few are genuinely malicious). This involves somewhat amusing, if a little annoying, shenanigans (like Wash getting turned into a cat, and a tiny 7-year-old Sarge showing up), but also very dangerous situations. Alternate time-lines and realities collide, some arguably "worst-case scenarios"
-It finally becomes necessary to confront the cause of all this. The group gets pulled into a pocket dimension where a lot of realities intersect. One AI god demands people fight for their amusement, and the winner will get to return to the "reality they want". The group really just wants weird paradox stuff to STOP. Church, Tex, and the Fragments figure out a way to keep everybody from dying, even the enemies they have to fight, until they have the chance to take on the one trying to control everything. Just when it seems like that issue is solved... Donut throws up. Weird, cosmic throw-up, like if the big-bang was a liquid. Being the one who has been traveling through time and reality the most, he's kind of absorbed a LOT of cosmic energy, and he can't control it. A big monster-transformation happens, but everybody figures out how to fix it so they can save Donut. Are we done? Are we DONE now???
-Yes. Everybody has the chance to live their lives, whatever that means for each of them. They get to be happy. Sometimes, bad things still happen, it can be difficult and unpleasant to live- but they still LIVE. Eventually, they pass on too (and that also means different things for some of them). When all is said and done, they're mostly glad they all got to be here~

What if Willow and Mara became sinners?
ok unless im forgetting something major, the only way to "revive" the sinners would be to bring ammut into the world and then get rid of her with the staff just as they did in canon, right? otherwise their souls would just be stuck in a sarcophagus forever? so, the end result would be the same – the only difference would be how they get there and how smoothly the plan goes. (which, in canon, it happens very randomly, so you can only go up from there!) ok based on the notes, it's likely instructions were left with the phonograph, but in this case let's just assume one of them smashes it instead of patricia, leaving us in the exact same place as before. maybe they don't do it in the middle of the night (mara needs her 8h and willow doesn't seem like the kind to be convinced to wake up randomly for anything), though.
anyway, if willow and mara became sinners, it would probably have happened right when they discovered jerome's cheating – before patricia got taken. and given that willow's personality change specifically would be very obvious, i think the others would be clued-in by the dodgeball game – even without knowing exactly what was happening, they would be on the look out for Team Evil being Evil.
which means, once they read that book and learn what's happening, patricia would immediately figure out that denby's trying to manipulate her, and she wouldn't believe the messages when denby gives them to her.
so, all this to say that patricia would probably stay safe. which puts sibuna at an excellent position going forward! not only would she ensure none of the boys do stupid things to get themselves taken, but she's also still (somehwat) besties with joy. and remember, joy's probably freaking out about mara/willow acting weird too, and given that sibuna themselves are sneaking out of bed etc (hello, eclipse fiasco was like 2 days before this!), she'd probably ask to be clued-in.
(side note: yeah she doesn't want to be involved, but, like, when lives are on the line, i think she'd insist on it anyway. tor be damned.)
anyway. with joy there (and, probably, jerome in tow, given he'll also demand to know what's going on once he realizes it's not all an elaborate prank and his exes genuinely seem to be lacking consciences), there's no way in hell anyone from anubis is walking around without a buddy to keep them out of harms way (and diffuse any high-emotional situation before it becomes Team Evil fodder). so the remaining sinners would be victor, sweet, and some random kid from another house as it should have been anyway.
tldr; joy and jerome would provide some much needed level-headedness (or, at least, comparative level-headedness) to prevent any loss of Sibuna members.
so then the next order of business would be to stop team evil!! which, fabian would probably come to the same conclusion that I did – they would have to let them "win" in order to get the souls out of the sarcophagus.
but I feel like their ancestors would also be a bit quicker and point them towards the nursery rhymes straight away somehow so they get the staff assembled well in advance, get the intel from harriet so they know to keep the keys with eddie and kt when things happen, and basically while the others do become Sinners for half a minute w the rest of the school, they're certainly not guarding the gatehouse/etc so it's a lot smoother now than it was in the show. and no one's getting abandoned in chimneys or believing gross old men for literally no reason or sneaking keys into people's pockets without permission.
as for willow/mara sinner shenanigans i have no idea lskdfj i feel like mara would constantly try to set up elaborate traps (like legit physical traps) and rfs would just be sitting there facepalming. meanwhile willow would be utterly useless given how opposite her natural self is to any sinnerhood tendancies. like i think her brain would just be at war with herself the whole time. we know she's a descendant-ish and probably(?) has some kind of prophetic eye, and idk how Sinnerhood affects that but poor girl was probably being driven mad :(( luckily she wont remember any of it, though.

One more time! I decided to go the Venus route with the last lost turtle sibling and lore is below the cut.
Utilizing what vague memories I have from 12+ years ago of the TMNT Power Rangers crossover, I drew inspiration that Venus is very easily connected to her mystical ninpo powers, and was even able to utilize them just after her mutation.
She is a sea turtle, and instead of getting the mutant hands/feet like her siblings, she kept her flippers and uses her ninpo as an extension to make arms and legs for herself.
Shortly after Draxum's lab blew up, she was washed away down the drains, thrown by the current until eventually making it out of the Hidden City and back to the surface world.
Around that same time, Grandpa Sho was back in New York and wandering the streets, hoping to find any signs of Yoshi, who had very publicly gone missing. Though with no clues in weeks, he was beginning to lose hope that Yoshi would ever be found, or if he was even still alive.
Tumblr media
Sho wandered the streets in the rain when he suddenly stumbled across a baby crying out for help and fishes her out of a drain only to realize she is not what he expected. This was not a baby but some sort of sentient turtle, and Sho decides that she is some kind of Hōnengame (or a “kame onna”), which is a yokai turtle-woman who comes to bring prophecies and predictions to humans.
Safe in his hands, she excitedly reveals her ninpo energy, and Sho recognizes the clan symbol of his ancestors, believing now that this a sign from the universe to make up for his shortcomings with Yoshi and try one last time to raise a protector for the Hamato clan.
He decides to train her in the ways of the Hamato ninpo, raising her as her sensei/ grandfather back in Japan, and even granting her the Tessen war-fan that once belonged to his own daughter, Atsuko.
Fittingly, he takes parts out of "Kame" and "Onna" and renames her "Kanna". Which also means "summer waves" in Japanese.
For years he tells her all the stories and histories of their family, including stories about Yoshi, Karai, and the Shredder. The two are a happy family, but inevitably, he passes away from old age when she is still pretty young, leaving her to continue training/ preparing for this journey without him.
So now she lives alone as a solo-ninja mystic-warrior in Japan and remains there, waiting for the Shredder or the Foot to finally reappear. She ends up being like a one-woman solo vigilante Batman/ Aquaman hero who lives in a lair mostly underwater but surfaces for various butt-kicking and ninja vigilante shenanigans.
“Venus” becomes her hero name as people are quick to focus on the whole mysterious crime fighting woman “with no arms” bit, and the name quickly sticks as an alter ego.
Eventually, she does find her long-lost family and learns that the Shredder was already defeated.
Being her life's purpose and sworn duty, she is thrown for a loop on what to do with her life now, but decides to try and figure that out together with her family.
(Also, I imagine she and Splinter have a very touching heart to heart talking about Grandpa Sho. 😭 )
As for special powers, I think other than her everyday use of limb manipulation, she has a very strong sense of connection to mind, body, and spirit... and thus gets prophecies and visions, and is good at reading energy levels.
Might even throw in some healing powers all "Dark Transfer/ Force Healing" ala Star Wars?
I had a thought that she can fight with the limb manipulation too, a lot like a Waterbender or Ming Hua from ATLA/LOK.
EDIT: I had a thought that she and Usagi butt heads a lot in Japan and are bitter rivals (since Venus is a vigilante and Usagi would be more an official longstanding family traditon-sort of samurai of the Hidden City there.)

After seeing yet another post about Ed's "horrible taste in men" and "what even is his type, CJ and Stede have nothing in common lmao", I'm gonna throw in my two cents. Because I actually think they do have something in common? They treat Ed as an equal and they are people he can have fun with. I think that's his type. Someone he can have fun with, who does not put him on a pedestal or approaches him with hierarchy in mind.
From Ed's position, that's a rare sort of social interaction, he does not meet many equals, and there also doesn't seem to be much fun and whimsy in Ed's life. Ed's life is Serious Pirate Business, and presumably it was already when he and Jack met. Ed wasn't Blackbeard then, or even a captain, he and Jack where low on the pirate corporate ladder (and probably bonded over it), but Jack doesn't seem like younger him would have been less of a party animal. I think he just is Like That. He doesn't (seem to) take things seriously, he loves drinking and silly party games and probably some horny violence. Those are things Ed likes too (things that the Crew of the Revenge also liked!). Yes, CJ is a manipulative bastard, but Ed doesn't seem to really see through that, and in Jack's defence I don't really think he's tried very hard to fuck Ed over before. Ed doesn't trust easily, and he trusts CJ fairly much. Their whole interaction makes it seem like CJ coming by at random for a couple of days of partying is a normal (and welcome!) thing. This has happened before. CJ is the guy Ed's known all his life who is sometimes in town and he's always fun to be around because he knows how to have a good time. And that's what Ed wants from this relationship (and usually gets I think). A mate to cut loose with, to spend a few fun days partying, to have a good time (and take a break from the dull daily life). CJ doesn't demand Ed behave in a Blackbeard way. He demands (often cleverly and covertly) other behaviours, like heavy drinking, but he is happy to let Ed giggle and jump around and be a silly guy for a while. The fandom has (rightfully) analysed how much Ed's Blackie persona is just a different mask and performance, but Ed doesn't really see that (yet?). Instead, I think the switch feels like a relief to him? It's a holiday. He gets to play around and have fun and be Blackie, who gets to have way more fun than Blackbeard is allowed.
And then comes along Stede, who also let's Ed be goofy and whimsical, who engages in fun shenanigans with him, who goes to a party with him (even if the party sucks in the end), who is also unhinged and overall A Lot in his personality (both Ed and Jack are also A Lot there). Stede knows Ed is the Legendary Blackbeard, but like Jack, he too is a captain of his own vessel, an equal in standing and role on the seas, someone on Ed's level, and also someone who doesn't make the serious pirate business everything there is to life. Stede also likes to have a fun time, and he likes for Ed to have a fun time, and he likes to have a fun time together (and actively works to bring it about, even if Ed didn't really get the treasure hunt until Lucius's explanation). From Ed's perspective, here's another person who is an equal, who's fun, who lets him take breaks from his dull job and who seems to be genuinely interested in him as a person (if CJ showing up for a meeting is the normal thing it looks to be, that's him making something of an effort to meet up with Ed and spend time together, which is probably the closest to friendship that exists in Ed's life, and even if CJ shows up with the sole intention to get into Ed's pants, it doesn't seem like Ed was opposed to that outcome, so it's fair game).
From Ed's perspective, they do have a lot in common, mostly from the way they treat him. Now, Ed is falling in love with Stede, and he knows that, it's a whole different level than his "old mates, not quite friends but probably with occasional benefits" situation with Jack, but the foundation for both of these relationships IMO is they treat Ed as more than his job, they're people Ed can cut loose and have fun with, and they're people Ed feels he can trust. Stede still wanted to be his friend after the whole murder confession thing, Jack saved his life in the past. That's his type. Sees past his biggest, main mask, is fun, and can be trusted.
Tangentially this is also why I am a firm believer that Ed and Izzy never had anything other than a professional relationship: Izzy is the opposite of fun. Before Stede, the duel and the selling out, I think Ed thought he could trust Izzy, but Izzy shoots any and all of Ed's attempts to do fun bonding over whimsy and not Blackbeard things down immediately. The Frankfurter clouds and the model ship are shown to us as a parallel to Mary and Stede failing to bond over their interests. Ed is trying to make a connection, Izzy only wants serious Blackbeardery from him, and there's that. It's like pulling teeth with him, Ed says. And imagine that interaction with CJ or Stede. Stede would love it and want to talk about the funny shaped clouds. CJ would at the very least laugh and find it entertaining. And that's why Stede and CJ are Ed's type and Izzy is not.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

On Disney's latest "100th Anniversary" film...
Now to start this discussion off, I won't beat this dead horse any deader cuz I know it's already been talked to death about how uninspired it is and how it had the potential to be great. I can commend the artists for their work on this film and their passion for their craft on a movie that the company supposedly squandered, and I will also give no shame to those who liked the movie. Just wanna say that, because this discussion is about something else.
Today I was watching another video on Disney's "Wish", the latest in their catalogue of animated films that to me, doesn't really do a good job as their 100th anniversary film. Heck, their latest short, "Once Upon a Studio" did a better job of recapturing the magic of their work and paying homage to the studio for all these years. The same can't be said for Wish.
The video I was watching gave a general consensus of the plot and characters and how the main issue was how unmotivated and aimless everything seemed and that got me thinking of how it could have been better realized. At the time I was on call with a friend, both watching the video on stream and began to conceptualize an alternative story that could have worked with the original concept. Bear with me, these are just my thoughts in terms of the concept art we got, and I like to go into detail a bit so strap in!
Now, for context, the original concept art showcased a different set of characterization for the characters than what we got, especially for the titular star character and the villain or rather, villains. Not to mention, Asha with some beautiful original designs.
Tumblr media
From here you can see vast differences from the final product, like how we got a villain couple and how the merchandisable luma used to be a wish-granting shape shifter and love interest to Asha. Very fun! Very flavorable. A lot of personality can be seen from these, and I can imagine the dynamics between them all.
Speaking of, let's talk about the characters and their motives because any movie won't do good if your characters are all flat. In the movie, as mentioned in the video I watched, their motivations are not very clear. But what if they were? Now the story I came up with has a few different tweaks to the current story, cuz the concept is still sound it just needs work. Here is the gist:
Magnifico can stay as villain, just keep in mind it's him and his wife that are the masterminds behind keeping the wishes for power and have them be god-tier manipulators to the town. Yknow, the whole "doing what's best, for nefarious purposes" and using their intellect to pull the wool over everyones eyes
Asha can still be up for becoming an apprentice to Magnifico and the queen, wanting to become a good sorcerer perhaps so she can help her family and grant wishes too, like she believes the monarchs able to do? (could be a homage to Mickey in Sorcerer's apprentice in name alone, eheh)
Star still serves his role as an alternative wish granter, possibly the only real wish granter, and threat to the king and queen's thriving empire and helps Asha with doing so, with his concept design (I know him as a star is cute but wouldn't a shapeshifter be more fun?)
This alone would help put the right pieces into place where the villains have their own goals, and the protagonist has conflict. Picture this...
The storybook beginning with Magnifico and the Queen bringing properity to Rosas with their gifts as legends go, everyone expects their wishes to be granted and are happy to anticipate their turn.
Cut to Asha who goes into her "I want song" about wanting to be like them and bring prosperity to her family and to be a beacon of hope for the people by granting wishes. She hopes to do so by becoming apprentice to the king and queen
Asha watches the wish ceremony happen with awe on her way to the king and queen, her goat tagging along after perhaps some shenanigans who knows. She's then now in the presence of the throneroom where the queen is, Magnifico not present. She may comment on the goat and Asha states he's a friend, etc typical banter, the queen sizing her up to see if she has what it takes. The queen listens to her talk about her concerns and wanting to be good, the queen humors her and explains what it means to be a wish granter and how their job is important for the town of Rosas etc and Asha asks how it works. The Queen changes subjects, saying she won't go into it (building some suspicion perhaps?)
Asha is briefed by the queen some more, Asha still wanting to know how it all works and the queen continues changing the subject, which puts Asha off but not entirely, her goat being suspicious, however. The queen seems dismissive as ever and Asha asks if she'd accept her offer, willing to put in the work to be as great as them. The queen is hesitant, wanting to say no, but for the sake of wanting to keep things under wraps and to keep an eye on this eager girl, she agrees but tells her she'll need to put in the work to match their level
This intro can serve as a good opener for the film and build enough intrigue and given the nature of the characters, the dialogue will come freely from their dynamic with one another. The Queen, being a villain, would not want the bad truth of her and her husbands intentions to be made known, instead trying to seem like their reasons for secrecy are all for the good of Rosas or reserved for their power alone. When Asha asks about the specifics to learn more, the Queen is understandly dismissive and instead would focus on the importance of their role in this town. This might give Asha confirmation that they'd take her in, and that she will have a long way to go before she learns their kind of magic. The Queen would essentially keep her distant with the promise of achieving her goal, or wish to help people. Mirroring the townsfolk and their wishes.
Now we can go onto the reveal of when Asha finds out their reputable, good nature is nothing short of a farce when doing errands for them over the course of maybe a few days? She learns their power is being taken from the power of the wishes people pour their desires into to be made true or something similar. Asha is horrified and her goat nearly blows her cover before she manages to sneak away to tell someone, but who would ever believe her?
This kinda plot is sorta inspired by FMAB, where in the second episode the brothers reveal a quack priest performing fake miracles and making promises he can't keep, especially to the poor, desperate people who get hope from his words. To do that would be cruel, and I can imagine for the sake of power, the king and queen of Rosas would put morals aside to hoard the wishes for their own gain, to Asha's horror. And then, in her fruitless endeavor to get anyone to listen, her and her goat get visited in their tragic lonesome by the wishing star in his shape shifting form, curious to her sorrow and eventually, wanting to help.
Let me know what you think! I know it's not perfect but I wanted to see what the story could be if the characters had a little bit of intention behind their actions, as in the movie they don't seem to have any, at least in my opinion. While I admit I haven't actually seen the movie myself, I have heard and seen videos and it did not sit well with people, including Disney fans, the consensus either being it's bad or meh. Again, I won't blame or shame anyone if they like the movie, all power to ya! I don't mean to oppose, I just feel as if we need characters actually being characters, yknow? Just my thoughts.
I hope you enjoyed this whole spiel, uh, sorry for it being kinda long I wanted to write this all down. Eheh...
TL;DR: Disney's Wish could have benefited by having the concept art characterizations be in the movie, such as the evil royal couple manipulating the town and Asha, causing her to strive to be like them, wanting to help but becoming devastated on finding out the truth of their power hungry intentions. Her isolated discovery leads her to meeting the wishing star, and thus the movie can be about them going up against the villains for the sake of preserving peoples wishes.

I'm not supposed to be thinking about writing right now, but I'm REALLY thinking of an Amphibia Swap AU that I might just write whenever I finish the fic I'm currently postponing.
Anne = Marcy
Sasha = Anne
Marcy = Sasha
Marbles :D
Once Marcy arrives in Amphibia, she's fascinated by EVERYTHING around her. (She does NOT have a journal to document anything though)
After a bit of wandering, and trying to figure out where Anne and Sasha are—to no avail, Marcy decides to be a hard-core camper!
Marcy tries to survive on her own just to be attacked by a variety of beasts, fails to start a fire (or burn down a part of the forest, this may or may not lead to her meeting Wally instead), or just failing to do anything in general. SHE LOSES HER HOODIE AT SOMEPOINT, ITS IMPORTANT. TRUST.
Marcy wandered the forest, thirsty, hungry, and worried about her girls. She meets Sprig in the forest, who's there for very PRIVATE reasons, and she convinces him to bring him to civilization. (She asks him a BUNCH of questions about him and his species)
Sprig brings Marcy to his house and sneaks her into the basement because she needs dire help. Hop Pop finds about this eventually, but lets her stay due to her injuries, and swears that as soon as she's better she has to go.
Spoiler, Marcy does not go, and they do not want her to go.
After a smudge of fighting, Hop Pop lets Marcy go out.
Marcy, like Anne, tries to get the respect of the townsfolk, when the Plantars are trying to sell stuff, but instead meets Maddie. "Yeah, no, I'll be at the stand if you need me!" [Sprig]
Marcy is curious about Maddie being a witch and tries to befriend Maddie, and Maddie is equally as curious as Marcy is. Marcy gets Maddie to teach her about spells! OooOooh~ (will probably be called "Mixtures with Maddie")
Marcy and Maddie have a lot of whacky witch shenanigans, and Marcy spends as much time with the Plantars as she does with Maddie.
Anna-Banana :3
Anne, like Sasha, is captured and imprisoned by Grime. She, GENUINELY, befriends the toads of the tower, NO MANIPULATION, but Grime thinks she's manipulating them.
UNLIKE Sasha, Anne does not have a major hold over the toads like she does. She's just a soldier. She influences Grime's decisions occasionally because of her way with words that she learned from Sasha, but she's just a foot-soldier overall. As long as she isn't dead, she can live with that.
She's taught how to sword fight of course, goes to Toad parties on the occasion, but sometimes she isn't in the mood for it. OR she sneaks out when nobody's looking and tries to search for her friends to no luck.
Grime often puts her in her place, like Sasha would.
Anne and Grime figure out that Marcy's in Wartwood, and Anne suggests a party, like a real party, no tricks, no nothing, but Grime doesn't see it that way and comes up with the plan by himself.
Marcy and Anne do not fight, unless Grime forces them too, or he threatens to kill Hop Pop if they don't fight. He does something to get them to fight, that's it.
Anne does not like that Grime is threatening an innocent man, but when Grime explains that Hop Pop is a revolutionary, and that Anne's idea was a perfect way to kill him, it made sense. She still doesn't support it though.
When that whole fiasco ends, Anne leaves with Marcy and the Plantars while Grime just... idk, sulks, or goes on a journey of self-reflection and runs off and meets Sasha on a mission? (It's not fair that Anne and Marcy get their amphibian companions and Sasha doesn't) "Never liked him that much anyway." [Anne]
Anne and Sprig have a great bond. They have their whacky adventures, Maddie and Marcy have their thing, and all together they have their moments. And at some point they all embark on a journey to Newtopia! (Maddie agrees to stay, because she has to help her dad)
Sashy >:3
Sasha sees through all of Andrias' attempts to trick her and lie to her. She tries to keep her distance, but he won't stop talking about that box. She lies to him and tells him she hasn't seen it.
Yunan decides to personally train her because she sees potential. Sasha climbs the military ranks quickly, earning Lieutenant in like a month. She does most of the managing of the army because Yunan is a solo act.
She captures a lot of bad guys, and has a bunch of scars on her skin and armor to prove it. She fought a bunch of wild animals when she had to leave the castle (with clearance from Andrias).
Andrias might strike a deal, because Sasha is too smart for her own good. Andrias ensures her that her friends are safe on day one, but offers her a world of her own to rule as long as she gets the box. Sasha may accept or reject, idk.
Sasha does not trust Andrias AT ALL. So when Anne and Marcy arrive, she's glad, but somewhat informs them of her suspicions. Once she learns that they have the box and that they can go home, Sasha may or may not keep it hidden from Andrias who would find out from The Core, or Sasha informs Andrias of the box himself. (With the others there ofc)
Andrias does research and tells them about the box and it's stones, yada yada, nerd talk, blah blah. <- Sasha
Go home until Andrias gives them coordinates -> Fly to temple 1 -> temple 2 -> temple 3 -> return to Newtopia because Sasha wants a free world to rule
Sasha learns she's been duped, and tries to fight for the box, blah blah.
I have no more ideas, but tell me what you think. 🙃
Also, GIVE me ideas. Thanksss.
Now, imma go watch the new episodes of Lego Ninjago: Dragons Rising. 👀

Uhhh TMNT oc lore!!! (copy and pasted from my notes)
ace lore🤯 (tmnt 2012)
COUGH okay so like
Ace was a baby/toddler (like 2yrs old??) when Karai was like, 4 years old. He was abandoned by his parents and was kinda left on the street to die. Karai found him one day and was like “WOW!! FREE BROTHER!!!”
She ended up taking him home (because who would leave a kid out on the street?) and told shredder she wanted to keep him. He did NOT want some stupid little kid but he accepts just for karai’s sake.
And this ends up in what we call: FAVORITISM‼️‼️
He REALLY favored Ace’s sister over him. Karai had a better childhood than ace because shredder kinda didn’t really want him around and couldn’t care less. To justify Ace’s mere presence, shredder tried to train him into “the perfect ninja”. He overworked ace a lot and always forced him to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Any less and ace would get whooped or something. He was also PRETTY manipulative to the kid.
By the time ace was 12 and Karai was 16, all the shenanigans with the turtles were starting. And this year of Ace’s life, shredder found out about uh.. the mutagen.
So he kinda tricked Ace into getting mutated with an arctic fox. You know. Just as an experiment..
Also ace was DEVASTATED when he had heard Karai was accidentally mutated. Shredder convinced him it was the turtles fault, and from there ace started fighting them a LOT more in hoping he’d “avenge” his sister. (side note: ace didn’t know Karai was splinter’s daughter because shredder wouldn’t dare let him know the truth so BOTH his kids go against him. He just lied to ace and said Karai was missing the whole time she was trapped in shredder’s lair and that the TURTLES did something to Karai. So ace was also fighting them more after that but after she was mutated it doubled because he was mad about what they did to his sister.)
(And another note: Karai did NOT support mutating Ace but she couldn’t stop shredder. Her and ace are on really good terms but she’s been busy with the turtles and whatnot ever since meeting them, leaving ace alone for the most part.)
Now timeskip to S3 of 2012. The SECOND kraang invasion happens and ace ends up getting lost.. until he spots the turtles fleeing in kirby’s van off to NorthHampton. Being a 12 year old mutant fox with daddy issues and unrealized trauma who’s currently stuck and lost in the middle of an alien invasion, he followed them.
He stayed there for three months kinda just faring on his own. A day or two after Leo woke up from his coma, he was taking a walk in the woods when WOAH SOMEONE JUST TRIED TO SHOOT HIM DOWN WITH AN ARROW?! (Ace is both an archer and a bunrai user) He looked up at the trees from where it came from and the person ran away?? What just happened??
Bros got no time to be the thinker because ace pins him down in a flash and he has his bunrai up against Leo’s throat.
They already know eachother since ace was fighting the turtles a lot after the whole Karai thing so Leo’s like “oh shoot it’s this guy”
Leo ends up finding out that ace believes the turtles are the reason for everything that happened to Karai and Leo tries to explain that shredders lying and stuff and he’s literally the worst father ever.
Ace starts reflecting on his childhood and hes like “oh shoot he might have a point”
Leo convinced him to put down the weapons and have ace stay with them (because Leo feels pity for they guy, I mean, he’s literally just some twelve year old with hella trauma and got mutated by his DAD.)
Obviously at first no one really trusts him.. especially not raph. I mean, bringing in someone from THE FOOT?! Nonetheless shredders SON? That’s a no go.
Conflict happens here and there, ace gains their trust AND THIS MARKS THE START OF ACE’S SELF DISCOVERY ARC🔥🔥
Because up until this point, he was basically nothing but another soldier for shredder thanks to how he was raised. He didn’t really know what he wanted or what he liked. All he knew was how to fight and serve. The most fun he got was purely from his sister.
Anyway, timeskip to after the NorthHampton arc, they’re back in NY and they work together and whatnot to stop the kraang. Ace ESPECIALLY helped when finding Karai. Leo was out looking for her a lot and Ace often joined him.
By now, his self discovery arc is almost done. He’s got his own personality and likes by now. But he’s still got lasting effects and whatnot (I’ll go over that later). But he’s definitely better now! And side note.. he’s the closest to Leo. Cause I said so. Also because Leo’s the nicest to him.
Now to wrap up his identity arc, they get into a fight with shredder and ace finally fights back against his dad and shoots him in the eye to help the others escape from the battle. Also he maybe cussed shredder out a lil <3
So.. aftermath. He stays with the turtles a long time. But around the time Karai makes her own clan with shinigami, ace left and went off with his sister. He’s still very close with the turtles and visits often but most times you’ll see him with his sister and her girlfriend— I mean, Shinigami.
So like he’s a pretty big perfectionist and tends to overwork himself and stuff. But he’s learned to be a bit more carefree now and to have fun. He really enjoys comics and cartoons, his favorite being space hero’s (thanks a lot, leo.) and he’s way happier than before. He’s got daddy issues and maybe some small abandonment and attachment issues.. bro can also be a little hotheaded. He HATES when things don’t go his way and he HATES when he isn’t being “perfect” or showing that he’s “better” and “worthy”. He’s also HELLA scared of people getting mad at him. He’s pretty sensitive and gentle, actually.
As for his personality? Like me. But more mature, he’s VERY headstrong, stubborn, gentle, caring, and he’s a HUGE perfectionist as said before. He hates the idea of failing even just a bit.
And as for appearance he’s basically just IDW alopex but he’s got these cool little spiral in his fur which are natural. He’s also got this belt that goes from his shoulder to his waist and it has a bag in the back to hold his bow and arrows, and the the front of the belt holds things like daggers, shurikens, smoke bombs, etc. and he has a waist band that has pockets for his bunrais. The waist band, belt, and bag are all a sort of greyish black color.

Some context from a comics fan! First of all, the reviving door of death has been a fixture in the comics for YEARS to the point that when Krakoa happened, installing the resurrection protocols wasn't so much introducing something new as formalizing it and giving it story weight instead of having it just happen anyway. At this point most X-Men had died at some point or other anyway and been brought back through some shenanigan or other. Jean's died so many times it's basically a meme.
(And this isn't just X-Men or even just Marvel--DC does it too. Killing off a big character gets a lot of attention and causes a lot of drama, but you want to keep selling books about them so you can keep making money.)
ANYWAY, there's a five person team that does the resurrections. The eggs come from a mutant named Fabio Medina whose power is to make.... gold balls.
Tumblr media
Pre-Krakoa his mutant name was Goldballs. When they found out they could use them as eggs he started going by Egg. Then there are four other mutants who manipulate reality and time and psychic stuff to get the dead mutants into the egg and age them up/give them their brains back. It's a whole protocol.
As for the ramifications--comics definitely explore it! Especially because of how it changes the mutant relationship with death. There was an event where a ton of mutants lost their powers a while back thanks to Wanda and so there was a whole ritualized combat thing called the crucible where characters could fight to the death and then be resurrected with their powers back. There were the politics of who could be brought back to life (specifically clones were banned and also Mystique's wife, Destiny). There also was the awkward issue of making sure you didn't accidentally bring someone back twice--X-Factor was a comic of a bunch of mutants investigating deaths to confirm the characters had actually died so they could be brought back to life safely. (Also the entire team basically was queer it was great I highly recommend). There were some magical realms where if you died there you'd come back "wrong". Storm and Magneto both had their back-ups destroyed for various reasons.
Anyway, hope that clarifies things! Or... just makes it sound even more ridiculous. This is absolutely ridiculous comic book nonsense, don't get me wrong, but there was also some very interesting storytelling. I thiiink the Krakoa protocols are gone now? I'm kinda behind in my comics these days so I'm not totally sure where we've landed on that.
I still won't expect anyone'll stay dead. Besides possibly some minor characters.
Hope u r doing well.
Btw what is the egg reborn thingy u mentioned in ur tag post? Is it that from the Krakoa arc I heard from the comics?Or is that a fan theory for the MCU?
Have a nice day!
The egg reborn thingy is how they revive characters during their krakoa run. It doesn't make sense but the newborn characters are full of egg goo and that's pretty funny to look at (plus they're butt naked and that's always nice to see musclar butts!)! Reviving your characters make their death less impactful imo. I am already "mad" that every characters live multiple heavy traumatic experiences and yet they barely show any sign of trauma. They sometimes mention it, but it is not really something they deeply explore, which is a pity imo! like Scott is the king of repression, but at some point he should be over his limit. Maybe there are comics who explore that, but I didn't find them yet haha! Sorry for my mini rant haha! I don't know if the MCU revived any of their characters? I stopped watching any new movies since the last spiderman movie, so I am really not up to date with what is going on.
