So Jensen “I didn’t want Dean to go out that like, and that’s been documented” Ackles just made it clear, again, at Nashcon, that he’s not satisfied with the way things ended for Dean. And I’m sure the ones that have played deny deny deny deny will just go on doing it. They’ve ignored the past few years of Jensen hinting at his salt about it or even saying it outright. They’ve taken his diplomatic statements as the only truth because they ignore what he’s also said about it. Some think it’s wonderful to shove the dickbar replica at him in photo ops and If You Think Jensen Has Any Problem With All This You’re Delusional He Loves the Series Finale So Much How Dare You. Or “Dean went out saving those kids while hunting, how dare you insinuate Jensen isn’t satisfied with how Dean went out, Dean went out a hero, you are so disrespectful” while they stick their fingers in their ears and act like Jensen hasn’t made his views clear. Sure you can disagree with him and have your own take on it, but not while you ignore all the things Jensen has already said and accuse anybody who actually LISTENS to the man of being deluded. Or assign words to fans that we didn’t say — for example I never made a claim that Jensen hates everything about the finale. I’m sure he does sincerely appreciate the Sam and Dean scenes. What’s he going to do, stand on con stages next to Jared and go “well that SUCKED” lmfaooo.

But he’s well within his rights to object to how Dean went out

Maybe people should actually listen to him.

Maybe not undoing the rebar death per se (because I believe Jensen when he said they aren’t undoing anything about the mothership on TW) but recontextualizing goes a long way and filling in missing spaces and giving Dean fuller more satisfying notes than whatevertheheck 15.20 was.

And there’s Jensen on a con stage in December 2022 talking about how there’s no closure and no end and he didn’t want Dean to go out like that and that’s been documented.

Jensen’s not putting Dean away on a shelf.

So I’m stowing that language now too. It’s not even “Dean deserved a better ending” any more, it’s more general and less finality than that. “Dean deserved better notes for that arc” or “Dean deserved something better than what 15.20 did.”
