thinking about riding gojo so hard and he can't keep quiet
Tumblr media
wowieeee so fun 🙂‍↕️ this is why no genie has granted my greedy ass three wishes bc i'd use it up on this !
minors dni ! gojo satoru x afab!reader
Tumblr media
usually you're the loud one in bed, and gojo fucking loves that. he coos at you when he's hammering his fat cock into you, kissing the spongy patch in your inner walls over and over 😛 in a way that leaves you mewling and crying and moaning his name to the heavens and beyond
but when you're on top of him its an entirely different story. he's got the blindfold off, bright eyes crinkled at the corners and you swear you can see a glowy crackle in their depths right as you hover folds (absolutely wet with slick) right over the bulbous, red tip of his cock thats leaning towards his chiselled stomach.
he's been talking shit for the past half hour, saying that there's no way you can just take all of him like this. that you won't be able to take all his inches right inside of you and how he's gonna have to end up looking after his poor baby anyway
but the minute you start to mould right around his thick girth, it turns out he was running his mouth for nothing. you're doing your best to hold it together because no matter how many times you've fucked in the past, there's always a mild burn in your core from the stretch. so you've planted your hands on his pecs, determined to ride him like a champ
but he's just gone already. rest in peace gojo satoru (yes this is how the manga really ended) because you could really bring him back from the grave with this type of gummy grip 🫡 (this is real, he told me this himself)
at first, he's purring like there's genuinely a soft rumble from him as tufts of white hair on his groin brush past your mound, right as he's sheathed to the hilt. you're rocking your hips, back and forth. and yep, back and forth again.
he's got his large hands right on the curve of your ass, pushing your hips back and forward but now you're clenching around him a little bit too much and his fingers are just digging in to the fat of your hips
"yeah, that's it. look at you, you're falling apart trying to take me into your tight cunt!" (mind you, he's projecting because he's the one whimpering and moaning and groaning, low and raspy)
and his white hair is splayed out on the sheets, damp from the exertion of not busting his nut straight away, and all he can do is moan loudly at the pshhh sounds of your glistening, sopping pussy...
you probably have to slap your hand over his mouth, and he likes it so much that he ends up dropping a fat load in you right after he said he was hardly affected

ETERNAL LMK AU (Part 8) (Interactive Story)
You all want these monkeys to be happy. Fighting for it. Imma give you a touch choice this time~
The rules are simple.: I will give the written passage, and then at the bottom there will be a vote on how the characters act next!
Story: Eternal Au
Ships: Shadow Peach
Macaque's anger melted away, replaced by a deep, aching sorrow. He stood before Wukong, watching the confusion and panic in those golden eyes as they searched fruitlessly for the source of the unseen force. Macaque's heart clenched painfully in his chest.
"You fool," he whispered, his voice cracking. "I'm right here."
With trembling fingers, Macaque reached out towards Wukong's face. He knew his hand would likely pass right through, but he couldn't stop himself from trying. Gently, ever so gently he attempted to cup Wukong's cheek.
It was unsurprising when Macaque's fingers trembled as they passed through Wukong's cheek, encountering no resistance. The familiar warmth and softness he longed to feel was replaced by an empty chill. His hand hovered there, suspended in the space where Wukong's face was.
"You can't even feel me, can you?" Macaque whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "After everything... I'm nothing more than a ghost to you now." Macaque brought his hands back to bury his face against them, wanting to block out the sight by covering his eyes, “Wukong…”
A look of bewilderment crossed Wukong’s face as an inexplicable sensation brushed against his cheek. It wasn't quite a touch - more like the faintest whisper of a breeze, or the lightest caress of silk. But there was an undeniable presence there, one that sent a shiver down his spine.
"What..." he murmured, his hand rising to touch the spot where he'd felt... something. His fingers quivered slightly as they hovered over his cheek, uncertain. Golden eyes focused, and Wukong focused. It took a moment, a deep peer into the void, but for a moment, he saw the impossible, and it made his voice weak.
"...Mihou?"
It shook Macaque to his very core when those eyes fell upon him. When that voice, spoke his name. He panicked, holding perfectly still, his hand still over his eyes. He was positive he had just heard wrong. But he could sense a shift in Wukong’s posture. A change to his gaze. He wasn’t blindly looking, he was focused.
Did Wukong see him?
Wukong had frozen stiff, eyes wide and looking at him so clearly. The gold of his eyes letting him peer through the veil just enough to see- to glimpse the silhouette of the mate he thought he had lost.
Thoughts rushed through Macaque's head. Panic, realization- Wukong’s lower lip trembling, eyes widening with such vulnerability. Macaque had never seen Wukong look at him like this before.
“Moon,” his hand extended out hesitantly, his voice crackly. He can hardly believe it. He seems to understand this is real a second later, and that he cannot let this moment slip through his fingers. With wild desperation he surged forward. “Moon!”
Macaque jumped in surprise as Wukong called out to him. He stepped back quickly as Wukong stumbled and vanished right through them, trying to catch hold of him but failing. If Macaque was alive, he would have been squished to Wukong’s chest, those strong arms tightening around him to hold in a bruising hug…
It was in that moment that Both were forced to recognize that Macaque’s presence wasn’t solid. Both of them froze in shock, each with their own unique feelings of horror.
Macaque's breath comes out in ragged gasps as he stares ahead, his heart racing with adrenaline. Behind him, Wukong tumbles and crashes, the ground shaking beneath them both. Macaque's eyes are wide with- terror, joy, so many different emotions as he realizes that… Wukong had seen him.
Wukong yanked himself to his knees stared at his empty hands- opening and closing them as he swore he had just- why wasn’t Mihou? Wukong whipped around, Panicked when his actions had lost him focus, Macaque fading from view again, “Wait-wait-!” he pleaded for Macaque to stay. To not leave his sight.
His composed demeanor from earlier was rapidly crumbling as he fell into a state of despair. Macaque managed to evade Wukong as the latter stumbled back towards him. Not that it mattered, as Wukong could not touch him, but he would rather not be reminded over and over that he wasn’t truly physically there.
Macaque felt ill as he watched Wukong's desperation unfold. The King's eyes darted wildly, searching for any trace of his lost mate. "Moon! Please, don't go!" Wukong's voice cracked, a sound so raw and anguished that Macaque felt his non-existent heart clench.
For a moment, Macaque considered reaching out, trying to touch Wukong's cheek again to comfort him. But the memory of his hand passing through Wukong earlier stopped him. What was the point? He couldn't truly touch him.
Macaque's heart raced as Wukong's gaze pierced through him. For a brief, shining moment, their eyes met across the veil separating life and death- Wukong could see him again.
Sun Wukong's face crumpled with a mix of desperation and hope, his hand reaching out. "Moon," he breathed, voice cracking. "Is it really you?"
Macaque's throat tightened. He wanted to run, to hide from that vulnerable gaze that threatened to undo him. Several thoughts came to mind at once.
First, a panic that Wukong could see him. What was Wukong going to say? What was he going to do? It half convinced Macaque to turn and flee. He couldn’t get far, he knew, with this string connecting them, but he just couldn’t bare the sight of those eyes. He should go. He should run. H-He… Wukong was going to hurt him again.
Second, joy. His mate could see him. Could potentially hear him or read his lips. A part of him felt elated, wanting to just forgive Wukong as he tended to do, regardless of the pain. The moon so desperate for it’s Sun. The pathetic and weaker side of him, unable to truly ever break away it’s from its mate. It’s soulmate. He was Sun Wukong’s soulmate.
Wukong took a hesitant step forward, hand still outstretched when Macaque didn’t respond righta way. "Moon, please," he pleaded, voice thick with emotion. "Don't disappear again. I-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."
Macaque felt cold.
The third and last thought followed. A darker thought.
Wukong could see him, but could do no harm to him. It left the door open to possabilities… whispered opportunity. What could one do to someone so… desperate for them?
Wukong never often revealed his hand, always keeping aloof. A casual friendly demeanor always hiding his real intent, his real emotion. He had folded now, revealing his anguish. Somehow or another, Wukong was- perhaps happy to see him? That quiver in his eyes indicated remorse. He was vulnerable right now.
Words would cut far deeper now than ever before. Macaque had nothing but words now. He could break Sun Wukong.
-----
Beheheh I got some tough ones for you all this time~ Flee and deal with this another time? Continue the toxic cycle of blind forgiveness?? Or begin a new toxic cycle of emotional manipulation??
choose wisely~

The biggest irony is that this logical fallacy stems from sexism itself: we are very reluctant to scrutinize male characters we deem good or even just passable in a moral sense, while female characters that have anything other than perfect morality are scrutinized to no end. We are even willing to reflect sexist behavior back at the woman before questioning the actions of men.
The books do at least, as said, have a moment for Éomer to begin to reflect on the error of his ways (Aragorn is too busy preaching about how Éowyn was lusting after him so bad it made her go insane), but the PJ movies are laughable. They didn't even include any of the nuance in Éowyn's character and her entire arc is about the sexism, but after everyone telling her for 1.5 movies that she's too weak bc she's a woman (Merry being the only exception) there's literally nothing after the Witch-King. Not a single character recognizes what she did or that they were in any way wrong in their actions. This is our beloved characters being dickheads to another beloved character and it's just. Fine? Merry, who was also being attacked by these same characters for similar reasons, does get recognition from said characters during Aragorn's coronation so that's something, but Éowyn? Nothing.
It's so funny bc they couldn't make more of a non-statement if they tried. It's telling when sexist behavior from men towards women is considered so trivial that it's not even worth mentioning or to reflect upon - even denied - even when that very behavior was the core point of a female character's story. The girlboss moment backfires bc nobody learned anything from it.
In certain parts of the fandom, there's a real push back against the notion that Eowyn was left behind first and foremost because she was a woman. That Eowyn was denied the right to ride to battle, or was forced into a domestic role, because she was a woman. Or indeed, that her depression was directly caused by the choices other people made regarding her because she was a woman.
Fans will accept generally that countries like Rohan and Gondor were patriarchal (although they might avoid using the word "sexist"), and will acknowledge that gender roles were at play, but when presented with specific acts of sexism from characters they admire, like Theoden or Aragorn, they shy away from it, they try to find alternative explanations, they try to remove sexism from the narrative. Actually pin pointing moments of sexism from heroic characters is something they resist, even though they wouldn't necessarily deny that the characters exist in sexist cultures.
It seems that they are unwilling to fully acknowledge that sexist societies are sexist because of the choices and conduct of those living within the societies, that agents within those societies perpetuate sexism by making choices that reinforce it. They'd rather shrug the sexism off with a vague "it's just what it was like back then".
"It's just what it was like back then" comes up if you look critically at a character's sexist actions. We're told we can't "judge them through a modern lens", as though everyday sexism only causes harm in modern day, as though the book itself doesn't examine the role gender and gendered expectations have on women like Eowyn.
And of course, much of it comes down to wanting to defend Theoden or Aragorn or whatever character is coming under critique. They would rather look for alternative interpretations, focus entirely on the non-sexist reasoning for their decisions and pretend that gender never comes into it, point out the times characters treated Eowyn with something approaching respect or recognition (which should be enough to dispel accusations of sexism, even when it is nowhere equal to what a male peer would receive) or use the traditions of their culture to exculpate the characters of all responsibility for their actions.
The result of this is that Eowyn ends up being re-written as a misguided woman whose sense of oppression was all in her head, that she was misguided and selfish (tragically so, because we can accept she is Grima's victim, just no one else's), that she was "redeemed" at the end of the narrative by "embracing her feminine role", and that her conflict with gender and gendered expectations are for herself to resolve, with no alterations of concessions made by others.
This, even though Gandalf spells out to Eomer that sexism played a hugely significant part in Eowyn's ultimate despair, and that Eomer himself, after hearing Gandalf, accepted this and reconsidered their entire lives together.

constantly thinking about the PERFECT setup supergirl season 1 had to make kara queer;
"oh my god, you're a lesbian" – winn to kara, in the very FIRST episode.
"hell, i wanna date her" – kara, about lucy lane.
"she does kinda give off a sapphic vibe, with that big old butch S chestplate" – leslie willis (livewire) about supergirl.
there were so many other instances in s1 alone, let alone in later seasons when lena showed up (recounting every queer-coded supercorp interaction would require a whole podcast). it was the PERFECT pretext to make her even just a little bit fruity, but the cw just couldn't handle it i guess

Vi started to giggle, taking the same pleasure in seeing his friend light up as Alex did. His expression morphed though, into something compassionate despite his glee. "If you were friends, I'm sure he'd be thrilled to see you." He said, "People change, but the core of who they are stay the same. And I'm sure... I'm certain that he's only left behind the bad things. You were one of the good." It was something he said from experience. Their stories weren't exactly the same, but they were similar enough that he could be confident. "You said you were one of his only friends, didn't you? I bet he thinks about you all the time."
Vi grinned then, his eyes crinkling. "I'm not promising anything."
------
The stage lights were bright and burning. The white baby grand was placed right in the center, waiting for him as he walked back out in front of a cheering crowd. Vi gave a grin and a brief bow before sitting himself down on the velvet bench. There was nothing left on him to remove-- Only a few strings of pearls and a pair of sheer bottoms just opaque enough to leave what was left to the imagination. It was cold, but the late autumn air wasn't enough to get him to budge.
Long fingers danced over the keys, playing whimsical notes as he started to hum. "...Russian roulette is not the same without a gun, but-" The crowd roared over him at the song choice, leaving him laughing. Once they'd quieted again, he tutted at them. "You know, you guys have been bombarding me everywhere lately. Instagram, Twitter-- You even found my Tumblr from high-school that I only use to post poetry on." He said, "But I can't exactly blame you, can I? I also love good gossip." Vi flashed a grin, still playing quietly on the piano in front of him. "You're so easy to bait." He teased, "Not that I was lying! I have been thinking quite a lot about someone..."
Cheering again, Vi rolled his eyes, playful, but not annoyed. "I'd hoped all your badgering would cure me of my ailment, but honestly? It only made it worse." He said, "Now, I know you know all the words to this song. Don't let me down!"
The piano music faded, replaced with a familiar synth track bumping from the speakers. One of his dancers helped him up from his seat and whisked him towards center stage, leaving him bright-eyed and grinning for everyone. His heart was swollen and pounding, his head aching from the noise, but there was nowhere else on earth he'd rather be.
------
"You look like an overworked hooker."
The make up he'd worn all night had mostly smeared off his face, both from sweat and him itching at it the second he'd finally left the stage. Vi looked at his brother through glittery lashes and smiled before shoving half a cupcake in his mouth. "Close enough." He mumbled through the excess icing.
Nick moved closer and pat his arm, waiting for Vi to lift them so he could throw his robe around him. He dropped his crocs on the ground in front of him then, watching him struggle to make the switch between them and his platforms. "Don't your feet hurt?"
"So fucking bad." He whined, mostly in relief to slip into something flat. Another one of his assistants tottered over to grab the heels and left just as quickly after getting a soft thank you from him. "What's you think though? Did you like it?"
Nick's brows furrowed, his arms folding over his chest as he watched him tie the coat around his waist. Your music? It's great." He said, "Everything else is kinda... Vegas Showgirl." Puffing his cheeks out, he shrugged. "Looks great! Just... Do you gotta be naked?"
Pouting, Vi gave a single word answer. "Yeah." He said and waved him off, "Just say you don't get it and go somewhere else."
"I don't get it." Shrugging again, the older of the two grabbed the other half of the cupcake from his hand. "You should go say hi to your fans at the barrier." He said and shoved it in his mouth. "I'll be on the bus."
Victory checked his phone again, opening the messaging app and confirming for the hundredth time this was the right spot. He'd pulled off some kind of miracle in the last month, not only getting in contact with one of his favorite artists, but managing to keep it going almost regularly. And now he was standing outside of an unfamiliar building on an unfamiliar street in the middle of Appalachian nowhere, getting ready to meet him in person.
He'd dressed down for the occasion, mostly for his own sake, but for Charlie's too. His own success was leading to more and more people clocking him while he was out, and he doubted dressing like Elton John would help him blend in in a place like this. The bleached hair he'd been sporting recently was tucked nicely under a baseball cap, his extensive ink work covered by a baggy sweatshirt. He'd even taken his earrings out in a rush, storing them in his pocket when he realized he'd forgotten to leave them in his hotel room. The last thing Charlie needed was to be bombarded because he agreed to meet him.
In the middle of using his phone screen as a mirror, his eyes widened as it lit up with a text. Vi quickly shoved it in his pocket and gave a quick sweep of the area. He frowned for a moment, but before he could pull out his phone again, his eyes landed on a familiar face, his own quickly brightening into a grin. Bouncing on his feet, he laughed as he waved his arms to usher his pen pal over.
Charlie Reimes. Cane Corso had been a staple on his playlists for years, and here was the frontman in the flesh. -- All because he'd gotten drunk and too bold, sending him what was an embarrassing DM expressing his admiration. It was a testament to maybe not all of his questionable choices led to questionable outcomes.
Beaming, he practically hopped the rest of the way over to him, his smile toothy, cheeks pink, and his eyes crinkled. "I can't believe it! I don't think you understand how massive this is to me." He said, babbling a little in his excitement. "I can't even begin to thank you. You've been such an inspiration to me forever and-" Oh! Oh, shit. Face flooding with color, he lifted his hands to wave off the starstruck gibberish, and instead offered him his palm. "I-I'm Vi." He managed, "It's nice to see you in person."

Qalaa does feel like she was a participant in her mom's death#(the other participant being her biological father who ran away before she was born and shattered aamira's heart)#ANYWAYS#i love qalaa's messed up familly#it's like a regular messed up story where actually no one (and everyone) is to blame (except Qalaa lmao she asked for NOTHING)#Aaamira gave so so much love to her child ;;;;;; this built the unbreakable core of Qalaa's kindness#aamira#aamira croquelune#aamira molandine#croquelune#still thinking about making that potentiel small DnD 'lore addon' of Qalaa's village that you can take and plug in your very own campaign#as long as you have 'far from civilization' woods or mountains you can put them in there#a village that welcomes the 'monsters' and the cast out#(like aamira)#look at me rambling in the tags lmao i just love qalaari (& her background) so much#last thing tho : you have to understand that Aamira is small and very slight and Qalaari was a HUGE baby and is a really big girl overall

LITBC ep 3 & 4: When they're homophobic but you love them
It took me a while to finally watch the third and fourth episodes because it's been diwali season, but having finally watched them I think I can quite confidently say that this part will probably end up as my favourite of the four. I've been having a really hard time trying to figure out how to express my feelings about this episode, because frankly I'm not even sure what those feelings are myself.
I think, surprisingly enough, this section actually hit me harder in the show than it did in the book. The book definitely had more teeth to it and felt far darker than the show, and this may seem counterintuitive, but I think it was because the show continues to be more grounded in the present that the story that it felt more visceral. As a few people have already noted, in the book the reader not only follows only Young's perspective, but there's also Young's bitter hindsight that colours his retelling of the story. Even when he acknowledges how enamoured he used to be with Hyung, it's again accompanied by his resentful commentary. In contrast, with the show we experience Go Young's emotions right along with him: love, confusion, disappointment, desperation, heartbreak, and everything in between. And as @lurkingshan notes here, this makes it all the more brutal when it all comes crashing down. Something else is that, while these episodes did not afford Go Young's mother and Young-soo the same sympathy the previous episodes did for Mi Ae and Nam Gyu, it's true that the wider lens and absence of Young's bitter monologue helped me, as the audience—how do I say this—see the two characters as their own people rather than just characters in Go Young's story. It emphasizes the greyness of morality in the characters. Young-soo is no doubt a bastard, but he's also a product of the environment he was raised in, and everything about him is a cry for help; help he will not accept. And Go Young's mother is an overbearing religious zealot who, when she realized that she couldn't 'fix' her son, resolved to pretend as though her son wasn't gay for the rest of her life; a social contract I am intimately familiar with. But she's also a single mother who braved a patriarchal society to bring up her son and she loves him in ways she will never express to him. The grey morality of the characters allows the audience to see why Go Young loved them and in turn, feel their loss along with him. I feel incomprehensibly sad when I think of the way both characters ruined their relationships with Go Young because they couldn't (wouldn't?) understand. Because he loved them, even though they were homophobic, but their relationships could never be the same after he knew.
Being constantly surrounded by homophobia is suffocating and exhausting, and it's something I know well. Even when it's not being discussed, sometimes just the knowledge of the way the people around you all hate 'people like you' can be incredibly overwhelming; it weighs you down. Go Young having to work through the complexities of loving people who were homophobic, people who hated an integral part of him felt so real to me because it's real life for me. Him going back to Young-soo over and over again even when he was rapidly becoming aware of Young-soo's beliefs. The quiet way in which both mother and son skirt around his sexuality. His brief happiness when he sees the scrapbook his mother made, and the photo that she returned to him. I'm just repeating the same words over and over now but the emotions felt so visceral; it made me feel seen. Go Young seemed so tired whenever he was around his mother and I don't think I need to say anything about how Young-soo's parting words affected him. It's something that hit way too close to home for me; that dawning realization that even more of your world stands against a core part of you than you'd thought, and that you love it anyways.

"It's powerful, it's visceral, it's dark, it's like a Shakespearean tragedy. There’s no Arya — a character everybody's going to love. They're all flawed. They're all human. They do good things. They do bad things. They're driven by lust for power, jealousy, old wounds — just like human beings. Just like I wrote them."
Seeing people debate which grey characters can still be considered "morally good" and somehow Arya never makes the list, so it's the perfect time to bring back this quote from George which shows exactly how he views her character 🫶🏾

There's a deep irony in Berserk being so admired by people who really really hate what Berserk is about on an emotional level, but especially when writers want to take influence from it. Because Berserk is very strong thematically, and someone who can't acknowledge subtext is going to whiff on emulating anything good.
#And by that I mean that like many of its influences and descendants the plot is fundamentally driven by toxic gay shit lol#Listen there's just no beating around the bush here: you either understand this type of story is super emotional#That the softness and hope and love for humanity is vital connective tissue between the edgy violent dark setting#And that at its core the queerness is *central*#Or you will just end up creating something toothless and cynical with tokenizing bullshit at best#You cannot make that lightning strike twice if you're too scared to even write that shit as ACTUALLY core to the plot#You don’t have to make your shit gay to be good you just have to understand if your major influence was gay and why#So that you respect subtext and thematic writing and emotional resonance in writing in general#And maybe understand that if you also want credit for pushing the envelope you get where the real standard is#This is one of those things I see in equal measure in dudebro homophobes and supposedly progressive queers#No that wasn't “bait/delusion” it was barely subtext and if you go into writing with that attitude you're going to write shallow shit lol#I genuinely believe when people lament about reading comprehension they're actually talking about willful ignorance#Because willfull ignorance *does* cause a need to deny reality to a point where it warps your ability to understand information#Having difficulty comprehending text from a learning disability or improper teaching#Has fucking nothing on someone whose deliberately trained themselves to rationalize away anything uncomfortable#Tag rant over but this shit really is a plague and you can see it so starkly when it comes to Berserk#An undeniably respectable work from a place many envious little goblins that covet it do not actually respect

tfw when you write an entire novel with two protagonists that spent the entire plot getting closer to each other, becoming best friends and eventually both of them deciding they would rather die than allow the other to not live a long, fulfilling life, their friendship carrying most of the emotional weight of the entire plot and the emotional climax being one of them sacrificing his life so the other can live and then the other crossing literal universes to find him, a tearful smile in his face as he confesses how much he missed him. which is the scene you wanted to write and show the most because, again, this is the pay off to the slowburn you've been writing in the entire novel and what everything has been building up to since the very first chapter. and then you end the novel by having them share a smile, finally confident they'll be able to have a happy future.
but you also just gotta have one of them marry offscreen because everyone knows you can't be happy if you're not in a het marriage with kids lmao it's whatever it's okay i'm fiNE-
#i talk a lot <3#the greatest estate developer#lloyd frontera#this post was going to be so much more bitter this is me being nice akjshdkahdk#i just....... i'm sad alsjdsjkal#and i don't think i'm wrong to be. like i'm not disapointed bc i don't actually expected lloyd and javier to be together#i'm not that optimistic lmao#but i did have the hope tged would have no romance#because lloyd and javier were already doing so much in the emotional and relationship development front of the plot#that adding romance just feels. awkward. like an aside. an add-on that affects none of the plot and is just there to make sure#no one accidentally gets confused and think those two are in love#and guess what! most of the romance does happen in literal side stories! literally an add-on that does nothing for the plot! i hate it!#it's the heteronormativity and amatonormativity of it all :/#do i think it would've been cool for llojavi to be canon? absolutely! do i think it was necessary for the plot? nope!#they were already perfect the way they are! their friendship is the core of the entire plot and their relationship to each other#is what ultimately moves much of the plot in the latter half!#which is the way relationships should work in fiction! not just have them for the sake of having them!#lloyd didn't need a romantic subplot because the plot was already working perfectly without it!#also what's the point of having a character constantly think about what their idea of 'happy life' is if you're not going to challenge it#it's about the hero's journey of it all!!!#i have things to say dang it!#javier asrahan#tged

A spell goes wrong and somehow Dean travels back in time to when he was 7 or 8 years old and Sam goes well into his future, a few weeks prior to his final death. The only way to go back to their timeline is for Dean to find someone who loves him unconditionally and for Sam to establish a real, meaningful connection with another person.
It takes them some time to get it but they eventually manage:
Dean understands that no matter how hard he tries whatever happened, happened, the damage is there and yet there's a way to change the past, you don't need to change events but you can change your relation to them. He understands that the only person who will ever unconditionally love that child/him is himself, he can heal his own wound by pouring all the love he has to give to that scared little child who'll forever live beside him.
Sam understands that he doesn't have to be the spectator of his death as he thinks he is of his life, he can take matters into his hands by establishing a real connection with that old man/his own self. Whatever happened, happened, the trauma is there but he has the possibility to take it slowly to the foreground, to talk about it, to talk with it because it is a part of him that will never change, sure, but he can modify his relation with it in order to take control of his own story. He can create a connection with himself.
Dean goes back to the future after he's hugged himself as a child and told him he'll forever be loved and Dean will never forget about him, it's a promise; while Sam goes back to the past by holding his hand as his future self dies and telling him not to be afraid, that they still have time and Sam will do whatever he can to make every second count, it's a promise.

Before we call anon rude because let’s see it from their perspective, imagine getting an entire feast to eat. That can be pretty hard to start with so much that’s going on, but if they start with one thing they know they’ll like (aka one character they like) that can be the start for them leaping to other characters to finish the story and the bigger story. I struggle the same way to start book series if I don’t have at least one character that drives me to read it, it’s all about what can be the hook to push them through. Sounds like the anon is neurodivergent (just a guess) so they might genuinely not see it as rude and see it as a solution to even play the game to start with.
Btw absolutely adore the game, the complex and rich characters making them all so unique is amazing. The art is so pleasing to the eyes I love it!! I’m waiting for it all to get out at once so I don’t get too impatient. Shae however interests me the most, which routes will have the most lore for them? Will there be routes that give more lore in general based on decisions you make or do they all share the same amount? (I mean general lore not just Shae lore)
Apologies; we are not trying to accuse any asker of being rude! We are simply explaining our perspective as the developers / are trying to broadly encourage folks to dip their toes into other areas of the story outside of the main route(s) they're interested in, especially considering some routes will be made available sooner than others, and these other routes will likely contain additional scenes/lore of everyone's fave(s) regardless! We want to give each main cast member an equal amount of love (and lore) regardless of their overall popularity, so our goal is not to tut-tut anyone for having strong preferences for one character over the others, but rather to explain that you may be surprised by how much *more* you learn about your preferred characters in the other routes. That's all!
For Shae... Well, they were a foot soldier for one of the worst periods of the War. Lore wise, any other story that touches on the War will likely have content relevant to them and their experiences. ^^

#ask#clotho answers#edit/final note: we got a *few* asks on this subject and will not likely answer all of them for the sake of our followers' dashboards#but we also want to note that part of our encouragements here come from the fact that Flan/Keagan are our most popular characters by a lot#and we want to do what we can to gently nudge folks who may not want to romance the fem / nb characters into checking out their stories#despite not being into them romantically. this is half of why we have platonic routes to begin with#we recognize veterans to the dating sim world may feel less inclined to romance characters that don't align with their irl orientations#this isn't a bad thing. some people steer clear of dating sims altogether because they're aro or just not interested in romance stories etc#but the unintentional side effect of this is it has a chilling effect on developers even in the indie sphere to make less diverse stories#if Flan and Keagan are our most popular characters then they will be our most *profitable* characters in the long run#and as much as we would love to not care about money and just produce the story we want to tell#we live in a society (tm) and need to eat#if at the end of ndm's development we see that 90% of our engagement went toward the boys it is hard to ignore the financial incentive#to redirect our energy toward leaning into the 'tried and true' formula that assures we can buy groceries and make rent#basically what i am candidly saying here is capitalism is pretty bad for creative liberty unless you're already rich / able to self finance#which we are not. and currently none of the core devs make *anything* from ndm#it would be nice if it does turn a profit but that isn't a guarantee - which the team has accepted as a normal risk in game development#anyway this is getting rambly but the Point is that this goes beyond us wanting to make sure all sides of our story are equally appreciated#it is *partly* that - we do want players to experience the entirety of our artwork#but it's not just for our egos - it's so we can keep making art like this#i considered including this in the body of the post but money talk suuucks man#and i don't want anyone to think we're glaring at them in a holier than thou 'ah-ha! you don't want to play maeve's route because she's a#woman!' sort of way because i think that's a reductive way to look at things#people like what they like and there's nothing intrinsically wrong with that#but if you like that we're making a diverse story#with masc routes fem routes and nb routes#even if you don't personally want to romance x or y#it would help us if y'all play the platonic routes#we are trying our very very best to make the fem/nb routes interesting for Everyone so those stories don't get sidelined#and if you don't like them for their own sake - fair enough! can't win em all and we'll deeply appreciate that you tried anyway!
