I finished watching the Castle series. Here are some of my notes.
I really liked it and enjoyed it.
It reminded me a lot of the series Bones. But I enjoyed the romance much more here. (No lead actress pregnancy, thanks for that.) Unfortunately, there weren't many deeper stories for the secondary characters.
S8 was weaker than the previous series, but not as bad as I feared. It was good in many ways but the main line of Loksat was just weird.
I wished at least ten more minutes in the last episode. But I get it… I'm glad there's at least a short scene after years. But it wasn't that satisfying.
Castle and Beckett drag the entire series quite a bit, either as partners or as a couple, but also with the dynamic they had between them and their constant teasing.
I liked Castle's slightly crazy nature, his witty remarks, enthusiasm for mysteries and his relationship with his loved ones.

me: I hate that I can never focus on books or reading, I need to go to a cabin in the woods with a stack and not be disturbed until I finish, there’s nothing like the feel of a paper book in your hands and the smell of an old, well-loved favorite and even the chunks that fall out bc you’ve read it over a hundred times and the binding is fragile books
me when the Wi-Fi goes out: böōōkš ?? never heard of her

Have you read The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez??
absolutely insane of the author to write an entire book about familial love and the importance of lineage and culture then have a main character not know about his own and lie about it the entire time. absolutely bonkers how that character is known and even sometimes defined by that false culture and its epithets. absolutely heart rending that when he comes clean to the other main character, he says that his culture is the least interesting (important) thing about him.
absolutely insane also for the only sex scene to be the last scene of the entire book.

I no longer participate in nanowrimo or use their website or resources because I don't want to be associated with anything that believes that using AI is a legitimate or ethical way to write. However, I did write 50,000 words in the month of November.
