We're in the car. She tells me about how she's destroying herself. Eyes on the road, smile on her lips. As if she's proud to be hurting. Showing the world has nothing on her. She's already too damaged, has surrendered to the dark.

I once too felt pride in my destruction - thought that if I took the worst of me and turned it against myself that nothing else could hurt me. If I was the worst of them all what was there left for them to do to me? If the pain becomes your strongest weapon - it is hard to let that go. I know I'm healing because I used to think that my self destruction was the strongest part of me.

Now I see it's just really sad.

It doesn't have to be that way forever. There's softer ways to survive, kinder ways to live. <3

i don’t know about you guys but the main reason i am still on tumblr in 2024 is BECAUSE it is the most cloutless least influential social media app out there and that is the experience i am after. absolutely none of this will ever translate into significant attention or real success in my life and that is so beautiful.

that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol
