Therapist Tips
If you’re naturally a caretaker it can be so easy to tie your worth to what you do for others.
But I want you to know that you are worthy just for being YOU.
If you feel like this might be you, here are four ways to start reconnecting with your own value and build a sense of self-worth that doesn't depend on always giving to others:
Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself. Speak to yourself the way you would to a friend, with compassion and with understanding. It's okay to make mistakes and it's okay to take breaks. You deserve the same love and care you give to others.
Explore New Hobbies: Find activities that light you up and bring joy without the pressure of performance. Whether it’s painting, hiking, or learning a new skill, doing something for yourself helps you reconnect with your unique passions and strengths.
Engage in Self-Reflection: Take time to pause and reflect on who you are, what you value, and what makes you feel fulfilled. Journaling or meditation can help you connect with your inner voice and understand your true needs.
Set & Achieve Personal Goals: Set goals that are about YOU, and not what others expect from you. Whether big or small, accomplishing something that is purely for your own growth is a powerful reminder of your capabilities and your worth.
Remember, your worth isn’t determined by how much you give, but by the love and respect you show to yourself. 💖
If you would like to learn more ways to heal from over giving, check out my blog - How to Support Other’s Without Loosing Yourself! The link in is my bio!

Taking care of your mental health is like tending to a garden. It requires patience, nurturing, and sometimes, a little bit of sunshine after the rain.
Remember, it's okay to not be okay. Just like every flower blooms in its own time, so will you 🌱💚

Writing help please
Ok I’m throwing this out there in case anyone can help me because I know tumblr can be a vast pool of knowledge.
For writing purposes, I’m researching two things:
trauma/PTSD therapy - what sessions can look like, what therapists look for in a trauma patient during sessions, tools to cope with trauma, things that could be discussed, etc.
how different session types are structured - I’m talking individual, group, couples, surprise 4th option, whatever
As one who has not participated in an official therapy session, I want to get this right, so any suggestions, tips, information you can provide for fic purposes will be greatly appreciated.
Anon is turned on for those who want to share without their url being attached.
Thank you in advance to those who help out!

What do you say to the people that question the utility of a watch, since you've got your phone?
If you have difficulty with attention, having a way to check the time without getting pulled into your phone is invaluable. Also, it's easier for me to 'understand' time visually rather than digitally, with the way my brain is wired. I wear a watch probably 80% of the time because it helps me so much with time blindness and attention.
So I like to have nice looking ones! I only have a few because I do spend money on them, so I'd like to have another one, and I think this is classy looking in the way a lot of fandom jewlery isn't always. You wouldn't know what you were looking at unless you knew.
#there's plenty of things I have that are much less useful to me#side note if you struggle with time blindness and inattention a smart watch will only make it worse#since it beams shit right to your wrist#and notifications are the time killer#anyway I own watches that work perfectly fine#so this is just a fun tips thing#instead of just getting a drink here and there I thought this would be better#and also let y'all see a ore tangible thing I'm saving for!#the clock time vs digital time thing is very common if you have#dare I say it#ADHD#according to the therapist that helped me with a lot of things#so give it a shot!

has anyone tried to look up tips in how to slow down? googling: "how to slow down and be less productive due to chronic pain/fatigue" google: "10 tips to be even more productive when ill!" "how to be productive while in chronic pain!" "stay productive while you grieve the life you lost!" "keep working even if you are chronically fatigued!!!" "dont you fucking dare stop working you useless piece of shit contribute to society your worth is tied to how much you can produce!!!!!!"
#chronic fatigue syndrome#chronic fatigue#chronic pain#holy shit is near impossible to find something useful#just making us feel even worse#is not even trying to be discrete#talked about it in therapy but the therapists said those kinda articles are everywhere#is fucked up#and it would be more concerning if the brain fog wasnt clouding our brain#trying not to feel worthless while chronically ill in capitalist society challenge#trying to find any help or tips feels near impossible#and if we try to look up stuff for artists is even harder to find anything

🎄 Struggling with Holiday Pressures? Here are 5 Strategies to Help You Survive 🎄
The holidays can be a mix of joy and stress, especially around family gatherings. If you’re feeling the pressure to make everything perfect, you’re not alone!
Here are some strategies to help you stay grounded and enjoy the season:
1️⃣ Set Realistic Expectations – Release the need for perfection and focus on what matters most to you. Let go of unrealistic standards, and aim for connection over “flawlessness.”
2️⃣ Detach from Responsibility – You’re not responsible for everyone’s happiness. Set boundaries and take care of your own well-being. When you protect your peace, you’re better able to enjoy the season.
3️⃣ Practice Active Listening – When tensions rise, focus on truly listening without interrupting. People often just need to feel heard, and this alone can help ease conflicts without needing to solve everything.
4️⃣ Avoid Sensitive Topics – Every family has subjects best left untouched. Prepare gentle ways to redirect conversations toward lighter topics, like catching up on each other’s latest hobbies or life updates.
5️⃣ Let Go of the Small Stuff – Not every disagreement needs to be resolved. Choose to let go of minor frustrations and focus on maintaining a sense of calm and connection.
💚 Remember, the holidays are about making memories and staying grounded. Don’t let the pressures steal your joy! Choose peace, connection, and presence this season!
If you would like more tips on surviving the holidays, check out our latest blog! The link to read is in our bio!

To anyone struggling with anxiety
You are not alone. It may feel like you are trapped in a never-ending cycle of worry and fear, but there is always hope. Remember that anxiety is a normal human emotion, and it is okay to feel it.
Take a deep breath and remind yourself that you are strong and capable. You have overcome difficult moments before, and you will overcome this too. Trust in yourself and your ability to handle whatever comes your way.
Don't be afraid to reach out for help. Whether it's talking to a loved one, seeking therapy, or finding a support group, there are people who understand and are willing to listen. You don't have to face this alone.
And most importantly, remember to be kind to yourself. You are doing the best you can, and that is enough. Take things one step at a time and celebrate every small victory.
Anxiety may try to bring you down, but you have the power to rise above it. Keep going, keep fighting, and never forget that you are capable of greatness. You got this.

speaking of ocd, I think I'm realizing that I truly don't have anxiety and it's literally just my ocd. im not anxious about anything until it involves me and suddenly I'm spiraling
#[static]#it's hard to describe succinctly but the anxiety I deal with nowadays is directly related to my ocd and autism#some anxiety is so easy to brush off but the ones stemming from my ocd are extremely difficult to get out from under#i'll spiral for weeks about one specific thing and ruminate on it and mentally worry and pick at it forever#it's utterly exhausting jfkdghdf some days are easier than others#and often that one thing I ruminate on becomes multiple things all stemming from the first thing#like recently it's been my car ... the thing is totally fine ... runs fine drives fine but ive been freaked out by it for the last 3 weeks#every time i go into the shop theyre like ... everything is good in fact its in good condition for its age and they'll mention like#one thing that will need to be replaced to keep it in tip top condition and then my brain will fixate on it and imagine all the ways#something horrific will happen if that doesnt get changed and then that leads to all the other things in the car suddenly freaking me out#i defs used to have general anxiety and depression but those went away literally the day i got top surgery#poof instantly gone it was wild and i kept waiting for the other shoe to drop#never did but now my ocd has been really bad the last 6 months cuz of all the extra horrifying things going on#so i thought it was just my anxiety coming back but this week i realized it was my ocd and have been treating it accordingly#and ive seen some relief but i definitely need to go back to therapy once i get my insurance again#its the only way to get a hold on it and my last therapist ended up moving states so we didnt get to work on tools for it very much#im yapping at this point i just needed to vent for a second about how truly yucky ocd makes me feel

#ocd#theyre already helping me with adhd and autism tips bc like they said it doesnt matter if i am or not i have these symptoms and i need help#but im scared to diagnose myself with a third thing bc it's like im self diagnosis georg or some shit#ive already heard my therapist mention that some of my behaviors are consistent with OCD so i know its accurate#but i dont know how to handle it#and we havent really talked about it
