Obviously this early on its all just theories: so take everything with a grain of salt. But! I think it's obvious that Alice has had quite a few strange lines concerning the OIAR already and we're only three episodes in. She's considered the main character of the podcast by Rusty Quill (with Sam) but right now she doesn't seem neccesarily more important than Colin or Gwen- and yet she's the one they focus on. And because we know she's more important than the others her weird lines stand out even more. And maybe this is just her sarcastic humor but it still feels important to point out from the get go that these things she's saying are *weird*, and could maybe mean more than we'd initially assume.

Question for an upcoming drawing and headcannon of mine! 🍎💛

In the eddic poem Hrafnagaldur Óðins, stanza 6, Idunn is identified as the "youngest of the elder children of Ivaldi" implying that Ivaldi had AT LEAST two sets of children that we are aware of.

Most likely by different mothers or himself? Since asexual reproduction isn't anything uncommon in norse mythology.

Also considering there aren't any female dwarfs mentioned, unless we take out the list of ALL the dwarfs names.

Now, here is my question!

If we follow the very popular theory that a few goddesses without any known origin story, like for example Sigyn. Are the results of Freyja sleeping with the dwarfs to achieve her necklace brisingamen.

And we go through their names to connect the dots or fill in the missing holes of a story.

Sigyn being "Friend of victory" "victorious girlfriend"

Sjofn being "woman" or things related to love or feelings.

And Lofn as "The comforter"

Who would Idunn's mother or other parent be? Personally I do want to see Freyja as her mother, since her name means "ever young" or "the rejuvenating one" ..

But it feels like it's own thing kinda.

Since we only know about Ivaldi's sons, I'll also assume Idunn is the youngest out of them and say the second pair of children are by Freyja.

What do you guys think? I would love suggestions or to simply discuss this! :3

I have a whole argument for this about the barbie movie but today I wanna talk about a show called "the babysitters club" on Netflix

(obligatory disclaimer that I watched only two episodes of this show so if it's super problematic I'm sorry) (yes. I know it's based on a book, this is about the show)

this is a silly 8+ show that my 9 year old sister is watching and it manages to tackle so many complex topics in such an easy way. basic premise is these 13 year old girls have a babysitting agency.

in one episode, a girl babysits this transfem kid. the approach is super simple, with the kid saying stuff like "oh no, those are my old boy clothes, these are my girl clothes". they have to go to the doctor and everyone is calling the kid by her dead name and using he/him and this 13 year old snaps at like a group of doctors and they all listen to her. it's pure fantasy and any person versed in trans theory would point out a bunch of mistakes.

but after watching this episode, my little sister started switching to my name instead of my dead name and intercalating he/him pronouns when talking about me.

one of the 13 years old is a diabetic and sometimes her whole personality is taken over by that. but she has this episode where she pushes herself to her limit and passes out and talks about being in a coma for a while because of not recognizing the limits of her disability.

and this allowed my 9 year old sister to understand me better when I say "I really want to play with you but right now my body physically can't do that" (I'm disabled). she has even asked me why I'm pushing myself, why I'm not using my crutches when I complain about pain.

my mom is 50 years old and watching this show with my sister. she said the episode about the diabetic girl helped her understand me and my disability better. she grew up disabled as well, but she was taught to shut up and power through.

yes, silly simple representation can annoy you if you've read thousands of pages about queer liberation or disability radical thought, but sometimes things are not for you.

And now for something completely different.

This is the ADHD Teapot. I made it in a ceramics class a few years ago. I use it to explain executive dysfunction to people who haven’t come across the term before (and those who think of ADHD mostly as Hyperactive Eight Year Old Boy Syndrome).

So, most people’s brains are like a regular shaped teapot with a single spout. Let’s say that your time, energy, focus etc is the liquid you have in the teapot. Your executive function is the spout, that directs the tea into the specific cup you want to fill-aka the task that you’re meant to be doing. Spills happen occasionally, but generally most of the tea goes in the right cup.

If you have executive dysfunction, (a symptom of ADHD, trauma, autism, schizophrenia etc.) you have multiple spouts going in different directions. You can try pointing one of them at your chosen cup and you will probably get some liquid in there, perhaps you will even fill it right up (finish the task). But meanwhile, tea is also pouring out of several other places and not going where you want it. If you have another container nearby, perhaps some of it will end up in there. But quite a lot of it is going to end up on the floor and accomplish nothing.

And at the end of the day you’ll have filled one or two cups ( or sometimes not even one) compared to the five or six that somebody with the same sized teapot (but only one spout) has filled, and everyone wonders why you’re so bad at getting tea poured, and why you make such a mess in the process.

One day I’d like to spend more time learning pottery and create a really technically good fucked up little adhd teapot. But that’s a long way off since i currently live in the outback and the nearest pottery workshop is some 400km away. But I figure that for now, it might be a useful or interesting metaphor to somebody even in its rough draft form.

This post is the cup I filled instead of cleaning my house btw.

So after making that cute little headcannon post about Loki related to pregnancy, I came to think about the knot ritual the old norse people would do during labor to hopefully ease the pain..

This wouldn't be the first time something that is possibly his "ritual" are acosiated with babies or young children. Let me remind you of how he is the norse tooth fairy according to the ACTUAL traditions down in Faroe island that have been recorded!!

Unless I'm completely wrong and there is an explanation for this ritual already and why it exists. Does this make Loki a midwife of sorts?? No problem for the mind food! :3
