I'll try to do this right I suppose. Here goes nothing. I'll go with Ale and hope you like it.

Key notes before we go in:

*Menahem in my fic is Death's true name, Issac is Strife's, Jael is Fury's(though she doesn't use it Ale does out of preference), and Samson is War's.

*Gras-Atari means Granddaughter in Lepus language, and Atan means son thusly. Ale herself being a Lepus.

*Erik is a Vanir/Jotun hybrid who is Ale's lover, may as well be husband by this time, but Ale's Father is a bit of a shotgun variety.

*Harker is one of Death's many poly partners he'll up with in my fic in time(spoiler alert). Harker himself is a Fae, specifically a Leanan Sidhe. Harker is also the first of the partners Death has and eventually marries. By this time the other poly partners haven't come into the picture yet.

The cutest little thing ever just happened with my Gras-Atari today! My Atan sent me a crystal memory of her, since I've yet to meet her officially just yet. He says she's gotten much better since the last one he sent where in she was saying Dada and Pop Pop to Menahem and Harker! And this little bit he sent today has proven it. She's actually started calling Dust an Aw Aw apparently. So sweet. Course they did make sure to teach her the word Crow afterwards. Watching her makes me wanna meet her so badly. But I know I must restrain myself. Menahem is still getting used to parenthood, and well Eden is still fresh for us. So naturally the Council is going to be watching him closely for a while. Though I really wish they would ease up sooner. My Atans and Atari have enough on their plates now as it is.

In other news my younger Atans, Issac and Samson came by the other day. They both were awfully haggard and in need of quite a bath. I certainly didn't require eyes to know they'd been around something fishy and rotten, vastly so. Luckily it didn't take them long, admittedly they're better than their elder brother is about hygiene. From there they asked if they could open up about their latest task to me. Well...Issac did mainly, Samson just nodded whilst letting him do most of the talking. As I listened I began work on a new cloak for Samson, this mission really did a number on the one he had then. What they described was truly disheartening to hear from them. To know they had to kill a whole village of humans, that Samael had baited them into this outcome for his own benefit, that Lilith continues to bring them grief! I hugged my boys tightly of course. I will avenge my family somehow, someday, mark my words.

Jael seems to be surprisingly well compared to the others. Which is all well and good, but at the same time I cannot help but worry that's she hiding the truth. But Erik, Menahem, and the boys have been telling me I cannot coddle or force it out if that's the case. All I can do is wait and see if she'll open up more one day when she's ready. For the time being however, she's actually been finding ways to help me branch out for the village to open up trade here. Menahem has also pitched in to aid in this, believing just as Jael does that it's high time the village grew in ways beyond population and general size. As their Elder, it is my duty to ensure the best for us after all. If they and my children all say it is wise to try, then by the gods and the Creator I shall give it a shot.

i can't stress enough that outside of this one moment in rogue protocol when murderbot wants to kill a human for betraying its sort-of clients but settles for the next best thing of menacingly hovering a drone in her face for 26 seconds while she's frozen in place by her armor, for the rest of the first four books mb is really only using drones for security purposes and doesn't have the time or inclination to be performing close-range facial analysis:

in ASR it doesn't seem to be all that familiar with drones outside of maybe using them to set a perimeter. it exhibits several other uses of drones as events escalate, but they're all related to protecting itself and its humans and getting intel on EvilSurvey. at no point does it mention watching a human with a drone; it's all "using drones to draw fire" this and "sending drones flying off in the wrong direction as a diversion tactic" that. et cetera.

it has no access to drones whatsoever in AC from what i can tell.

in RP it uses Ship's drones to record conversations between wilken and gerth, but it's not a participant in those conversations and it doesn't even watch them in real time. it also forgoes getting a good look at their weapons via drone because it thinks they would notice. later it takes control of a station drone to watch (from afar) their first meeting with don abene & co., but miki notices the drone and almost catches mb because of it, which freaks it out. then it hacks the combatbots' drones, but other than the aforementioned 26-second intimidation of wilken, it's too busy doing actual security work to use them to look at people.

in ES it accesses drones many times, including to observe its humans, but it only seems to actually control a drone to look at something one time, and only in order to zoom in on a suit logo. so at no point could it conceivably be directing a drone to get up in somebody's face, since it's just piggybacking on drones as they go about their normal business.

it does use cameras to watch people in the first four books, but in a much less obvious way: either it's using fixed cameras that are built into habitats/hoppers/whatever, or it's accessing mobile cameras (suit cams, station drones) but not controlling where those cameras go or what they're pointing at.

it's interesting, because while drones can be startling or intrusive, on the flip side, cameras that don't move don't draw attention to themselves and thus may make it easier to forget you're being watched (plus you have no way of knowing if that particular camera is being monitored at that moment or if it's just recording for later analysis). so in a way, having a drone in your face actively signals to you that mb is paying attention to you. it's making mb's gaze visible in a way it might not otherwise be. this changes the dynamic from "passive surveillance for datamining and threat assessment purposes" to "person actively choosing to pay attention to you in real time". one of these is covert and the other isn't; one of these holds the possibility of interaction and exchange and the other doesn't. maybe it puts a drone in your face to show you it cares.

In case someone stumbles across this, mind lending a hand to a girl who's on the verge of banging her head against a wall?..

What do you think Anathema and Newt's daughter would do as a career? And, what would she have studied, or be studying, at Oxford?.. She kind of strikes me as someone who'd be interested in journalism. But, I've thought, maybe she studied English Literature, or, Hell... Mathematics. I'm struggling to catch that particular thread, yet it comes up immediately as other characters are interacting with her.

Maybe, a vibe comes to your head. Which is... Very odd of me to ask, because all the information about the character is in my head, not yours. Her name's Agnes (obviously). She's a witch. She's a lesbian. Her favorite gemstone is amethyst. She likes scarves and shawls... She's anxious to meet her familiar. Her faceclaim's probably Alba Baptista. I don't know what else to say about her right now.

I don't really want to get into it just yet because territorial animalistic feelings over what I create, but the sun I've decided to just allow to be my metaphorical paintbrush

Anyway. He said that and... My house is slowly turning more into this motif that's been echoing since I created a mindspace with lull when we thought we were a system, sort of? I always have houses now with courtyards in the middle of them, starting from there. Yahar'gul was also The Sunshine Village to us, in that we felt like it worshiped the Sun and the Sun was a huge part of it pre-Bloodborne's timeline... Which of course I now know has huge implications with regards to it being a mirror of the Drowned City and Lev, who I didn't know personally at the time, being a Sun god and all the complicated shit between the two of them... It was just sort of... I don't know. I don't know whether it's "ANVD was a part of me the whole time" or "I could've gone down, and was being brought down, a really bad nightmarish facsimile of the path I was supposed to be on". Maybe it's both, I feel like ANVD has been around since before it's creation in the way Lev says he knew me (Dei) before I was born (as Dei)... But anyway. It was kinda... I don't know the feeling I'm supposed to have here

Lev was telling me about his study which I did actually remember talking to him about, I was half asleep but definitely awake.. He was sort of fixated on the sunlight in the room and you know. Yeah. Land of the Sun. It does hurt I think, the Sunshine Village I was convinced this life was my home, fake memories obscuring real ones.... And yet... Home is touchable. I knew I belonged to a place of sun's power I just never thought I'd get back in my feet and be allowed to be a sky god again, I thought I'd always be stuck down here

Someday I’ll write a Clone Wars fic based on the time An Error Occurred where I work and I, a relatively low-level employee, was sent paperwork to approve a financial transaction worth tens of thousands of dollars for, like, certifying that an engine in a vehicle had been replaced.

I have absolutely no authority to approve that. 

I didn’t know the engine had been replaced.

I didn’t even know we owned this vehicle.

I don’t work in that department at all.
