it's fucking me up how tv shows, movies, and even video games can't be "niche" content anymore

#THIS also with books #if your first book doesnt sell then the publisher might not give you a second chance #so you can’t just send your manuscript to a publisher anymore. i mean you can but 1. you’re gonna wait like 6 months for the answer AT BEST #2. even if the editor that read your book thinks its good it might not be accepted because the author is not well-known/#it’s their debut novel/they don’t already have an established audience #with indie games i think its getting a little better. some indie games get into steam top selling list #like remember a game about digging a hole getting in steam top charts #but like. they are filled with creative vision and not afraid to be what they are #while triple a games are trying to cater to everyone which is really impossible #and losing at the end #‘capitalism promotes innovation’ no capitalism only encourages endless derivatives of what sells

the meds arrived too late and i didn’t manage to pick them up after work. i can go out for them now so that i don’t drench the sheets the blanket my clothes and my husband in nightmares-induced sweat again this night, but i have to…ugh…get up from the bed to do that 🤢

forgot to restock my meds in time and i ordered them, they’re gonna arrive tomorrow in the second half of the day, but i don’t have one of my night & morning meds, which means tomorrow at work i’ll be fried……

yknow it is easy to joke about tumblr memes wreaking havoc on your vocabulary or whatever but when you are around people who are familiar with them it can be genuinely very useful to have a one-syllable noun meaning "unpopular yet heavily marketed streaming service that is going to inevitably go bankrupt in a year or two holding a show you want to watch hostage in the meantime"
