“Come help me,” Neil called to Andrew from the living room. He was standing in front of a bare wall, bits of painters tape criss-crossing over itself and mapping out a future gallery wall.

Andrew simply stood and stared at his boyfriend, wondering how exactly he needed his help wrecking the walls of their new apartment.

“Hold this up in the center,” Neil instructed, ignoring Andrew’s bored expression and handing him a framed photo. “I want to see how it looks before I put a nail in the wall.”

“No,” Andrew said flatly, noticing what the photo was of. It was a newspaper cutout of Andrew, a candid photo of him playing exy.

Of course Neil wanted an exy gallery wall in their living room. Idiot.

“Yes,” Neil refuted. “It’s the first news article after you went pro!”

Andrew felt something tighten in his chest at the thought behind the choice, at the way Neil had always been so undeniably supportive. Sentimental idiot, Andrew corrected himself, still hating the photo.

“I’ll return the bedspread,” Neil conceded. He rocked back and forth on his heels as he waited to see if Andrew would cave.

Andrew just stared back at him. It was an exy bedspread.

“And the shower curtain.”

An exy shower curtain.

“And the dishes.”

“You bought exy dishes?” Andrew asked in exasperation.

Neil sucked his bottom lip into his mouth, looking only mildly sheepish about all of his exy-themed purchases.

“Return everything that makes this place look like a fucking gift shop,” Andrew said, finally stepping forward and holding the photo of him in place against the wall. He looked back to gauge Neil’s reaction to the placement, and was surprised to see one of his rare, soft smiles.

Affection and pride battled for dominance in Neil’s eyes, and Andrew thought he might hang ten pictures of himself on that wall if it kept that look on his boyfriend’s face.

As long as it was the only exy decor in the apartment, that is.

Okay my guilty read is called the All For The Games series and it’s because it’s Trash

Truly the epitome of “sometimes we throw shit at Kevin” sound on TikTok. (Love Kevin. Kevin is such an idiot and we Love him)

It’s about a made up sport called Exy and a boy named Neil on the run from his dads gang. He gets a position in the “ragtag team” of the world. I won’t say more to be wary of spoilers, but damn Nora (author) really threw some things together and made a cake (novel) somehow.

But for real though, there’s some genuine racism (author bias not an explored theme) & real shit mental health representation among other horrendous themes. Proceed with caution. It will change ur brain chemistry but idk in what way.

It all starts with the two of them going to the city hall to get married, and someone captures them on camera entering and leaving the building. But there's a twist: they brought Kevin as a witness, and when they entered the building, Kevin walked alongside Andrew, but exited next to Neil (or the other way around, I don't remember). That's why the whole world thinks that Neil and Andrew hate each other so much that it led to a court case. Then at some point, the three of them + Jean are invited to a TV show. And at some point, the host uses the word "elope," and Neil starts to panic and get confused in a game they were playing on that TV show.
