I've drawn some watercolor spooky kittens postcards for local cat foundation for their awesome halloween charity party. It was so much fun! I mean both the party and drawing the postcards part ;3 With these 4 postcards I've went a little bit overboard but I'm quite happy with how they look!

Something I really love about the Silt Verses is how, in a world of gods and monsters, how grounded Faulkner's trauma [and relationship with his father] is. Especially as the season moves on, and the stakes amp up [and up] its so unexpectedly piercing to be presented with this exploration of childhood abandonment/negligence, inter-generational trauma, the indignities and stress that comes with unexpected elder care/early onset Alzheimer's. You're so locked in to these grander, more abstract concepts that your defenses are down! Mine were, anyway. TSV is so good at cutting its grand, complex plotlines with simpler [but not shallower] gutpunches, and it just grounds the whole thing.

If you are having trouble getting through the Christmas season, I recommend directing your energy into charity! For example, you could participate in a local church's food and toy drive. You can visit church websites or contact the priest/pastor/minister to find out what initiatives are happening. Maybe serving in a soup kitchen or collecting gloves for the homeless! The important thing is to shift the focus away from yourself and your worries and channel it into loving thy neighbor.

I deeply regret tagging that post with Christianity, but for the sake of answering this, I already have done some charity work this season and it was a very wonderful experience however, outside of that I still would like to enjoy this time of year, and it is very hard to do when people who have hurt you are being very very loud.

Ngl do not get why non-Americans think they can judge American students for wearing clothes like sweatpants and hoodies and shorts and such to school because like....a, those are regular ass clothes whats wrong with them and b, bitch don't act like its better to wear uniforms, often or not they become hell to wear every day to school (source: me who was beyond happy my college allowed us to wear what we wanted after spending secondary school wearing a uniform the teachers would be strict as fuck about and then spending one sixth form year wearing smart clothes because they decided dressing smart means students somehow are motivated to work....yeah can confirm that didn't work lmao).
