I just watched the production of Fiddler on the Roof on at the moment in London. If you're UK based, I 100% urge you to go - the run has been extended.

What really hit me, as I have never seen it before which is shocking as I'm Jewish and a musical theatre person, is how my family fled Lviv and Kharkiv to escape pogroms and expulsions and I sat there watching the show and all I could think was "that would ahve been me".

I don't think people understand how much we, as Jews, do not forget the persecution we have faced. Not because we are here "holding grudges" or whatever but because it was literally our grandparents where are offer STILL ALIVE who were survivors of european antisemetism. My grandfather's family came by foot from Kharkiv to the UK and I will absolutely be telling my children how resilient their foreparents were.

People may have forgotten what their grandparents did to ours, but don't worry because we never will.

🎭A very small puppet theater and its amazing curved clock tower by Georgian playwright Rezo Gabriadze are hidden in the old part of Tbilisi. A place where you can find many surprises: a wall of tiles, a performance of dolls on top of the tower, the smallest clock in the country and such birds decorating the entire building🏰

By the way, another decorative bird is visible in the photo on the pipe away from the tower😏

🎭В старой части Тбилиси спрятался очень маленький театр марионеток и его удивительная кривая часовая башня грузинского драматурга Резо Габриадзе. Место, где можно найти много сюрпризов: стену из изразцов, выступление кукол на вершине башни, самые маленькие часы в стране и вот таких птичек, украшающих все здание🏰

Кстати, на фото видна еще одна декоративная птичка на трубе в стороне от башни😏

NEWS: The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale returns to the UK!

Last year, a new production of The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale premiered at the Watermill Theatre and sold out its 12 week run, winning the hearts of audiences and critics alike.

Since then, it has been seen in Chicago in an augmented production, while there are upcoming runs for the show in Auckland, New Zealand next month, as well as Sydney in Australia from next January. Additional Asia/Pacific dates will also follow. [...]

The show will head to Theatre Royal Plymouth from 4 to 11 October 2025 (currently the only UK dates planned), presented with a UK cast and ensemble of 32-players. After its Plymouth run the show will embark on an adventure across Europe, with dates to be revealed.

I have no clue what press tour Jonathan Bailey and Jeff Goldblum think they’re on, especially since they’ll only share a single scene together in the second movie, but I feel like we’re all watching them becoming besties in real time in these interviews, and it’s wonderful. When the show moved to Broadway, Linda Cho reworked the costume referencing the Blue Gown from the 1997 animated movie.

This version has a fitted bodice with beading and sequins, off-the-shoulder straps with delicate crystal chains, a flowing skirt, and a long cape. It is paired long, elbow-length white gloves.
