Oh Hey, so over the weekend, this guy wore a top hat and played his cool AF Les Paul on a stage near me.
I think he’s got natural talent and he’s going to go far 😂

Down Under
On Monday Lord Huron played the first show of its Australian tour; word is that it went well.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I was intrigued by the thought of seeing the Bubs in summer while winter is raging here. And since I've never been to Australia ...
But with other travel plans in the works and the distances involved (19 hours in the air from Detroit) , well ... I'll wait for Red Rock in May, which is not a bad consolation prize.

Meet the talent and creativity behind the magical world of Middle-earth live, onstage. Some of our Australian cast tell us about the skills needed to transform into their characters as they try on their costumes, wigs, hair and make-up for the first time.

The Home Team
Are you looking for the next band to blow up? The Home Team are a four piece band from Seattle, USA creating music in the style of heavy pop. They are clean, catchy and are always pushing their creative limits. Their influences originally came from pop-punk and metal but enjoy funk, R&B and pop so they’ve blended all these genres together to create their own unique sound. They’ve opened for big names such as The Used, Don Bronco and Australia’s own With Confidence. The Home Team have released 3 albums since 2018 and have consistently been creating new music with incredible visuals to accompany. Their 2024 released songs ‘Brag’ and ‘Hell’ will get stuck in your head for days with catchy hooks and cheeky lyrics. These songs show that The Home Team are doing what they love and boy are they good at it! Brian’s vocals are strong and he isn’t afraid to show off his range (and his dance moves) while John’s punky melodic guitars elevate their songs and give bite. I guarantee you won’t be able to sit still. Their next album ‘The Crucible of Life’ will be coming out in July and you can pre-save/order it now. From all the footage I’ve seen, these guys are just as good live. They have high energy and bring their clean sound to the stage. You can catch them on tour in Australia in the coming weeks and in the USA and UK later this year. The Home Team are rapidly gaining fans all over the world so don’t miss them. Jump on board with their journey now and catch them in a city near you!

Sixty Years Since The Beatles Toured Australia and New Zealand
Here in Australia over the last week or so there’s been a lot of fond reminiscences of the time, sixty years ago now, that The Beatles came to this country. Australia’s national broadcaster the ABC (kind of like the BBC in the UK) has just played a terrific hour-long documentary on The Music Show that is really worth a listen: (Click on the image above to have a listen.) One of the key guests…

Just a snippet of the sax before the intro to "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)". This gig was literally perfect to me, AND it was Matty's birthday so the whole crowd sang to HBD to him (twice). I cried, I screamed, I danced, I got cuddled by the love of my life to my favourite songs. We had the perfect spot (I wanted to be able to see above the crowd).
Matty asked everyone to put their phones down/away to sing "Me". he was right, it did make the moment more special. Oh the set list was so perfect, the night was soooo amazing. 10/10
