Promesa
Mapi León x Ingrid Engen x León!R
Warnings: Injury
Notes: Working on part 2 currently, it will be Mapi and Ingrid (and the team) supporting R in her recovery, if you have any ideas or anything you want to see in part 2 let me know - vaguely based off this request (sorry it took so long) 1.2k words
Tumblr media
3 days before your first match of the olympics your world came crumbling down.
You were 19, and the León’s youngest, you signed for La Misa the same day Mapi signed for Barça and lived with her ever since, your parents would visit every weekend, making sure Mapi was looking after you well, which she certainly did, she absolutely adored you and everyone joked you were her world, but to you that wasn’t a joke to her, it was true, she promised you the day you were born that she would protect you and somehow, somewhere along the line, promesa became the foundation of your relationship. You’d signed for Barça when you were 16 making your debut for the senior team just two days before your 17th Birthday, you were officially Barça’s youngest star, well that was until Vicky came along.
The decision to make yourself available for call up was a difficult one. Knowing what the RFEF had done to your sister, but also knowing that changes had been made and that you weren’t her, you didn’t know what to choose. It felt like you were betraying her if you made yourself available, but also how could you not make yourself available when there was a very real chance you would be called up for the Olympics team. After many discussions, with Alexia, Mapi, Ingrid, your parents and others you decided to make yourself available and low and behold you were selected. However the Spanish team didn’t have the best of luck when it came to big tournaments and Injuries.
With 3 days left to go until the Olympics you planted your foot in training and heard a pop, before your knee buckled and your body collapsed to the ground. Back hitting the turf with a dull thud. Your knee ached and you immediately pulled your training top over your face as you let out a choked sob, the pain in your knee was excruciating.
“Bebita,” Alexia’s voice shook slightly, as she knelt down next to you, removing your shirt from your hands and placing it back down over your torso, revealing your red face, which was screwed up in pain.
“Ale,” you let out a pained whimper, as she caught your hand mid punch into the ground, you clasped onto her hand, trying to find even the slightest relief from the pain. The physios came over and Alexia just shook her head at them, after quickly assessing your knee they moved to talk to you.
“Can you move your leg for us? Straighten your knee?” One of the physios asked, and you tried to straighten your knee but you couldn’t, the sensation making you want to throw up.
“No,” you said as you shook your head, and used your left arm to help you sit up, giving you a view of your swollen knee, which was very clearly deformed. You were helped to your feet and two of the physios supported the majority of your weight as you were guided over to one of the coolers and placed down on top of it, your hands immediately clutching the sides of it for support. Alexia crouched down beside you and was handed a green whistle by the medics, which she coerced you into taking breaths from. The medics assessed your knee as the team was instructed to carry on with training. They tried to focus on training but they couldn't help but glance over to where you sat every now and then. Your eyes red and puffy from crying, and pieces of your hair clung to your sweaty forehead as tears still fell from your eyes. It was like déjà vu, however they all knew it wasn’t an ACL, it may have seemed like that at the start but the pain hadn’t faded, and the way your knee cap sat up near your thigh it wasn’t good.
Aitana more specifically watched on in horror, she had accidentally dislocated your finger last year during training, causing it to stick out to the side, and you hadn’t even bat an eyelid, annoyed at the fact that you had to stop training for the day, so for you to still be in tears, and Alexia being allowed to stay at your side, it had to be bad.
-
You were flown home to Barcelona where one of the Barcelona physios and your parents met you, before you were taken to the hospital for scans and then able to return home, your Mamí helped you have a quick shower before you had a small meal and fell asleep. You had a surgery scheduled in three days, to reconstruct your patellar tendon.
Tumblr media
Mapi and Ingrid were still in Norway when they received a call from you in tears. Immediately packing their bags and heading to Oslo airport, thankfully Barça had managed to get them on a flight, meaning they would be able to see you soon.
“Mamí, we’re at the airport now, we should be back in around 4 hours, how is she?”
“She’s okay, I guess. They confirmed it is a complete rupture of the patellar tendon, they’re going to do surgery to repair, or maybe reconstruct it, I’m unsure, the physio said he was going to send an email to someone, either you or her, with all the instructions for surgery, so it will all be detailed in there. Your father and I have booked a hotel for tonight, we’ll leave when you arrive, unless you need us,”
“We’ve got a spare bedroom,”
“She keeps asking for you Mapi, and if we’re there she will feel bad that she only wants you. We know what she needs right now and that’s you. Just have a safe flight and we will see you both when you get here,”
Tumblr media
“Nena,” Mapi murmured softly as she sat down on the edge of your bed, moving some hair out of your face.
“Mapi,” you grumbled tiredly as your eyes fluttered open, you were lying on your back, head resting on your pillow and your leg elevated, you stared at the ceiling as Mapi studied your face, trying to read you.
“Nena, what are you feeling?”
“I don’t know,” you shrugged before tears started to fall from your eyes, and Mapi was quick to move so she was lying beside you, taking you into her arms, she kissed your temple before allowing you to tuck your head into the crook of her neck. She held you tightly as you soft tears turned into sobs, feeling her shirt become wet from your tears, but she didn’t say anything, she just laid there with you, and eventually your sobs turned into quiet even breaths, as you fell back asleep.
-
“She’s not okay,” Mapi said as she laid on her back next to Ingrid in their bed, who was reading a book.
“But that’s okay Maps, it’s okay for her not to be okay, we don’t always have to be okay,”
“She-she wanted to play in the olympics,” your sister stated before a tear rolled down her cheek.
“Come here,” Ingrid placed her book down and opened her arms for her girlfriend, who swiftly moved into them, before she broke down silently in the safety of her girlfriend's arms.

╰┈➤ bestfriend!rafe comforts y/n (blurb)
warnings: cheating (not by rafe) , light swearing.
summary: rafe comforts his friend when she gets cheated on.
closing the door behind her, she sniffled as she entered tannyhill, her hot tears now dried. she padded through to the kitchen, where she found wheezie eating cereal.
“wheez..” she whispered, causing the youngest to jolt slightly before turning to face her. gasping, wheezie rose from the island chair, rushing towards her. “oh my god, are you okay?” she asked, having noticed y/n’s puffy eyes and flushed cheeks. “i’ll be fine, where’s rafe?” y/n muttered. “he’s in his room”
nodding, she turned on her heel, shuffling quickly up to rafe’s room. huffing, she turned the handle without warning, eyes scanning the room for him.
“hello?” he called from the bathroom, the sudden warmth from the shower hitting her. “it’s me!” she called back, sinking into the mattress as she slid into the bed.
recognising the heartache in her voice, rafe quickly turned the shower off, towel drying his hair before wrapping it around his waist.
“y/n?” he sighed as his eyes fell on her trembling frame in his bed, the waterworks staring all over again. rafe’s ears perked up at the sound of her muffled sobs, quickly rushing to her side.
rounding the bed, he launched himself into the space next to her, quickly pulling her weight against him. “y/n what happened?” he soothed, pushing a few tear-drenched strands of hair from her face.
“he-he cheated..again..” she cried, tears falling onto rafe’s bare chest. throwing his head back in anger, he squeezed her as she snuggled into his side. “i caught him with a girl he works with..” she whimpered.
“do you want me to comfort you? or do you want to talk about it?” he asked, resting his chin on top of her head. “just hold me please” nodding, rafe exhaled deeply, wrestling with the anger boiling in his chest.
rafe couldn’t even begin to describe how much he hated y/n’s - now - ex boyfriend. he was an asshole, especially to her, but she didn’t see it, not until the first time he cheated anyways.
rafe remembered that day vividly, how he had to hold y/n as tight as possible just to get her to steady her breathing while she sobbed uncontrollably into his chest.
it was from that day he swore to knock his ass out, and he did, multiple times, however that always ended with a lecture from y/n.
rafe had almost fallen asleep when she spoke up again, this time pulling away to face him. “i hate him” she mumbled, placing her hand beneath her cheek. mimicking her actions, he smiled tightly as their eyes met.
“good, you deserve the world y/n, he’s an idiot..” rafe whispered, propping himself up with his elbow.
for a split second, he could’ve sworn her eyes flickered onto his lips, but quickly convinced himself otherwise. “do you want to stay here tonight? so you don’t have to be alone at home?” he offered. “yeah, if that’s okay?”
“it’s always okay, you know that” he grinned, moving from the bed.
a couple hours passed and they had both managed to decide on a film, watch it, and fall asleep on the couch, well, she did.
he chuckled quietly when he noticed her eyes had fluttered closed, her head lolling into his arm as they had curled up together.
“goodnight y/n..” he sighed, pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of her head before using the television remote to turn it off, getting comfortable behind her snoring form.

Peter Parker was the sweetest human being ever. He was an amazing friend too, but he was the best boyfriend.
You’d joined the avengers a little after he had, after your best friend Lila Barton had seen your sparring skills when she’d come to watch one day. One thing led to another and you’d become the youngest agent on the team. When you and Peter met, you’d hit it off immediately.
Currently you were seated in your room in the tower, struggling with calculus when said boy scrambled through your window.
“Baby you have no idea what happened today,” he started, dropping his bag on the bed, pulling off his mask, full of excitement. You stopped, getting up and turning to him as he wrapped his hands around your waist, your own resting on his shoulders. “Yeah? What’d I miss?” you asked, a goofy smile on your face.
“I got an old lady a taco for free, courtesy of the suit,” he grinned.
You laughed, dropping your head to rest on his shoulder. He smelled like a tree. His hands tightened around your waist, pulling you even closer to his chest, as if that was even possible.
“I missed you,” he whispered, one hand resting on your head, as the other wrapped itself around your torso.
“Me too, spidey,” you responded, lips sending a wave of goosebumps over his skin, as you placed a soft kiss on his neck.
You both went to different schools, which meant you only saw each other at the tower. However, no one else knew about the relationship, because you were afraid of their reactions.
Except Ned. And Lila.
Which meant that you had to keep things subtle.
Which also meant you weren’t supposed to cast loving glances or wink at each other.
You weren’t supposed to. But what else were Ned and Lila around for?
Peter pulled away slightly, just so that he could see your face, your bodies still flush against each other’s.  He cupped your jaw, kissing your forehead first, before his lips met yours. Your hands found their way into his hair, tugging slightly. He moaned, grabbing your lower lip with his teeth, tugging slightly, his hands sliding down the curve of your body, down till your hip, before squeezing it lightly.
You both pulled away after a few minutes, gasping for air, lips swollen and cheeks red. Just as you were about to reconnect, you heard a knock on your door. Both of your eyes widened in panic, before Peter quickly dived under your bed, relying on the shadows to hide him.
You straightened yourself out before quickly opening the door, to find a very amused looking Bucky staring back at you. “Y’alright kid?” he asked, a smirk playing on his lips. You tried to move slightly, trying to cover your bed as much as possible.
“Yup! Perfectly, perfectly fine,” you said, hoping he hadn’t heard anything. He nodded, that damn smirk never leaving his face. “Alright then, dinner’s ready,” he told you, peeking past you into your room, before turning around and leaving.
You quickly spun around shutting the door and leaning against it. Peter crawled out from under the bed, dusting himself off before giving you a panicked look. You shook your head, “Even if he heard, he won’t spill the beans.” you assured him.
Bucky had quickly become like an older brother to you, taking you under his wing when they all found out you didn’t have any parents. He’d done everything for you, from showing you the ropes of handling yourself on the field, to trying (and failing) to help you with homework. He’d even threatened a few boys that had been after you. You wouldn’t be surprised if he knew, but were confident he wouldn’t tell. However, he and Peter never seemed to get along, so it did seem off that he hadn’t lectured you about it yet.
Maybe he didn’t know as much as you thought. Or maybe he suspected it was someone else.
It was definitely the second one. You knew how much Bucky disliked Peter, and he probably trusted that you wouldn't date him.
You felt the teensiest bit guilty.
“I should get down to dinner,” you said, walking up to your boyfriend. He nodded, the disappointment on his face evident. “I’m sorry. You should go home for dinner too. Come back after, yeah?” you asked, holding his face in your hands. He nodded again, “Yeah, I’ll do that.”
He pressed his lips to yours once more, before grabbing his bag and jumping out the window. You ran over, watching as he swung away into the night, before closing, and pulling the blinds, then making your way downstairs.

“Princessa, please explain to my sister that she is absolutely wrong,” Pietro pleaded, pointing to Wanda with his fork.
“I am not! N/n tell him that he’s the one who’s wrong,” Wanda replied, staring angrily at her brother.
They were talking about Wanda’s cooking.
Pietro hated it.
The team was divided, exactly half supporting one of the siblings each, so naturally Pietro looked to you for help.
You held your hands up in defense, “Don’t ask me. I need food. As long as I get it, I’m not judging,” you laughed, shaking your head.
“But if you had to choose?” Pietro asked, waving his fork around.
You pretended to ponder your choices for a minute, before shrugging, “If I had to,” you dragged, looking between the both of them before your eyes settled on Wanda. Her face lit up - “it’d be Pietro,” you said, raising your hand as he gave you a high-five. Wanda frowned, “I should’ve known. Of course you’d support him! I’m not helping you with homework anymore!”
You stared at her, mouth agape. “Don’t bring my homework into this,” you warned, waving your fork in her face. She just shrugged before continuing to eat.
The entire table erupted in laughter, Wanda and yourself included.
After eating, you quickly ran up to your room, finding Peter already waiting on your bed.
“You’re lucky no one else can open this door without my permission,” you told him, climbing in next to him. He pulled you into his chest, a hand on your shoulder and the other on your waist. You sighed, letting yourself relax.
He ran a hand through your hair, “How was your day?” he asked quietly.
You hummed, “It was good. Calculus sucks though.”
You felt the vibrations of his laughter in his chest, “Yeah, it’s a tough one.”
You felt yourself slipping into a slumber, soft lips against your forehead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Ms.L/N, Ms.Stark wants entry into your room,” FRIDAY announced, your eyes snapping open.
You groaned, “Let her in.”
The little girl walked into your room as the door opened, bare feet against the cold morning tile.
She paused a few feet away from your bed as you sat up stretching, “What’s up Mickey?” you asked. The nickname coming from her obsession with Mickey Mouse.
“Why is Petey in your bed?”
Your eyes widened in shock, head spinning around to find Peter asleep in your bed.
Oh shit.
“Uhhh,” you had to think fast, “He was helping me with uh-with- with homework and he - um- he got tired - and he- he just fell a-asleep here. Yeah.” you said nodding, satisfied with your answer. How suspicious could a 5-year old be?
But that’s when Peter woke up.
He sat up stretching, wrapping his arms around you, before pressing a kiss to the side of your chest. “Good Morning, baby.”
The panic in your chest grew.
Morgan stared at you for a minute, “Why did he just call you baby then?”
Yep. You were fucked.
Peter seemed to have realized what was going on then, because he immediately backed away, back hitting the wall. You turned to glare at him, as he shot you an apologetic look.
“Okay, okay, Morgan look. You can’t tell anyone.” you said, getting off the bed to kneel in front of her.
She blinked, “It’s a secwet?”
“Yeah, yeah it’s a secret,” you said, nodding.
She put her tiny finger on her chin, tapping slowly, looking away, thinking about it.
You hated how a 5 year old was making you feel so terrified, right now.
She looked at you, the most sinister smile a kid could muster, forming on her lips. “Then, you get me all the free juice pops I want. Whenever, I want” she said.
Dammit, she was good.
You nodded. You had no choice.
She gave you a tight nod, before prancing out of the room, the actual reason she’d walked in long forgotten.
“We’re fucked,” your boyfriend said, letting out a breath of air.
“You think?!” you asked, spinning around.
He held his hands up in surrender, “I didn’t know! I literally just woke up!”
You shook your head. “Whatever. We just have to,” you waved your hands around, “give her what she wants,” you sighed.
“She’ll get sick.”
“Do YOU want to explain to Mr.Stark why you’re dating the newest recruit?” you asked, pointing to him.
He shook his head frantically.
“Yeah,” you whispered, running a hand through your hair.
“So, what now?” he asked, climbing off of your bed.
You looked at the wall clock, sighing. “Now, we have school,” you muttered, rubbing your eyes tiredly.
Peter nods. “See you after school?”
You nod, pulling him in for a quick kiss, before you both bid each other goodbye and he was out your window.
Today’s gonna be a long day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You’d managed to force Lila into coming to the tower with you, surprising Clint a little.
“You girls alright?” he asks, watching his daughter walk in with you.
“We’re fine dad, we’re gonna go study,” Lila assures him, pushing you towards the stairs.
“She just doesn’t wanna go see her boyfriend right now, Mr.Barton!” you yell, Lila hitting you immediately, eyes narrowed, “Shut up!”
You’d basically called her in as a reinforcement.
Within 5 minutes of you entering your room, Morgan made her way in.
The fear you felt for this child was unlike anything you’d ever experienced.
“Juice pop,” she declared. You sighed, getting off the bed, as Lila started snickering. You shot her a look over your shoulder as you guided Morgan towards the kitchen. Luckily, there was no one there.
You got her the flavor she wanted, and she skipped off again. You thought the worst of it was over.
Boy, were you wrong.
She came back twice before dinner.
The second time, Sam saw you give her one.
The third time, it was Steve.
“I swear if she comes back again, I’m gonna blow,” you whispered to Lila on your way down.
Peter was helping Natasha and Pepper set up the table, and you quietly joined them, trying to signal to Peter that things were going well so far. It was one of the days when he ate over at the tower, but you hoped it wouldn’t mess things up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morgan decided she wanted to sit around with all of the “big people” today.
Her eyes wouldn’t leave you and Peter.
The second you finished eating, is when hell struck.
“Y/N, I want a juice pop,” she said grinning.
Oh boy.
“Morgan, you already had one,” Steve said.
“She did?” Tony asked.
“Two,” Sam said, holding up two fingers.
“What?!” Pepper asked, shocked.
Shit shit shit shit shit.
“Wrong!” Morgan giggled. Your eyes snapped to her, trying to warn her.
She held up 3 fingers. “I had thwee.”
That little-
You looked at Lila with pleading eyes, but you could tell that even she didn’t know what to do.
The panic in your chest grew, the adults talking over each other as your eyes found Peter, the same thoughts circling his mind.
We’re done for.
“Morgan, honey, who gave you those?” Tony asked.
Don't say Y/N. Don't say Y/N. Don't -
“Y/N”
Annnd she said Y/N.
All heads turned to you.
You looked at Morgan. You were still safe. As long as she didn’t-
“And if she doesn’t give me one more, I’m telling everyone her wittle secret.”
Your eyes widened, landing on a very terrified looking Peter.
“What secret? You might as well spill ‘cause you’re not getting anymore juice pops,” Tony declared, eyes narrowing as he looked at you.
Morgan shrugged, “Petey called Y/N baby,” she giggled, “and they were sleeping together.”
You wished you could make like Scott and just disappear.
“What?!” Bucky yelled.
“We weren’t having sex, I swear!” Peter blurted out.
“What’s sex?” Morgan asked.
“Not in front of the kid!” Pepper exclaimed, dragging Morgan away.
“You were sleeping on her bed?” Clint asked.
“They were just sleeping, dad!”
“Lila, you knew?!”
“FRIDAY, how come I didn’t get any reports of Peter coming in through the window or something?”
“It’s not necessarily a safety hazard, sir.”
“Yeah, well from now on it is.”
“Noted, sir”
You looked around as everyone started talking over each other. You couldn’t think, not in this noise.
“OKAY!” you yelled, silencing everyone.
You looked at Peter, “The cat’s out of the bag,” you muttered.
“Hell yeah. So, care to explain?” Buck asked. You could tell he was mad.
You let out a shaky breath, “We,” you said pointing between you and Peter, “are dating.”
The table was eerily quiet. No one said a word.
“We didn’t know how you would react. We knew some of you,” Peter paused, looking at Bucky, “wouldn’t like it very much.”
“Alright.” Steve nodded, “The three of you get out of here, the adults need to talk,” he pointed to you, Peter and Lila.
“And stay downstairs where we can see you,” Bucky ordered.
You all nodded, before slipping away quietly.
Lila tried to comfort you both, but you were still scared. You didn’t like the way Bucky had been looking at you. Almost, like he’d felt… betrayed. You knew they wouldn’t tell you to break up, but you were worried that it would weaken your relationship with Bucky.
When they called the three of you out, you could still see the fire in his eyes. And as expected, the verdict was not that bad.
“Just - keep your door open,” Tony said, tiredly rubbing his face, “and you,” he pointed to Peter, “use the goddamn front door.”
“You got that?” Steve asked.
You both nodded.
“That’s enough drama for one night, you guys should go to sleep,” Bruce said.
You looked to Peter, and he hesitantly came over, giving you a hug, his chin against your head. “We’re okay,” he whispered.
“Yeah.”
“I’ll text you,” he said, pulling away. You nodded, his eyes flickered to your lips, but you shook your head.
Not in front of everyone. Definitely not now.
He seemed to understand, and so he just quietly walked away, bidding everyone a good night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was past 11pm and you still couldn’t sleep.
You were worried about Bucky being mad at you.
You got out of bed, “FRIDAY, is Bucky asleep?” you asked.
“No he isn’t, Ms. L/N. He is in his room, however”
You nodded, making your way out of your room and over to his. You knocked in his door, and it swung open after a few moments.
“Y/N?” Bucky asked, looking tired.
“Are you mad at me?” you questioned, your voice breaking slightly.
“What? No,” he said, pulling you into his room.
You both walked over to his bed, sitting down side by side.
“Why would you think that?” he asked, looking at you.
“ ‘Cause you don’t like Peter,” you said matter - of - factly.
He laughed. “You’re right, but I mean, if he’s making you happy,” he shrugged, “who am I to judge?”
“Really?”
“Yes, but," he said pointing to you, suddenly looking serious, “if he hurts you - ”
“You’ll break his neck?” you asked, grinning.
He tilted his head to the side, “I was gonna say, I’ll mess up his pretty little face but sure, you’ve got a better idea.”
“Bucky!” you gasped.
He burst out laughing again, and this time you joined in.
“Can I sleep here tonight?” you asked after a minute, making your best puppy face.
“Y/N” he groaned.
“Please! I swear I won’t pull all of the blanket off of you this time!” you said, joining your hands in a prayer-like manner.
He looked at you, clearly not trusting you.
“And I’ll never hide something from you again. I promise.”
“Deal” he said, climbing over to his side of the bed.
“That’s all it took?” you asked, laughing, and laying down next to him.
“Hey! I’m a simple man!” he said feigning shock.
You scoffed, “A simple man who hates a teenager.”
“A simple man who hates Peter Parker. There’s a difference,” he said, holding up his finger.
“Oh shut up Barnes!”

Sweet Siren
Yang Jeongi x Reader(afab)
🍰🍬 - fluffy and suggestive;)
Tumblr media
Authors note: My first I.N fic and I was absolutely terrified while making it because I didn't want to portray him wrong. However if he does seem a little oc, I apologize in advance and I'll get better🫡 I also want to warn that I've never been to a fanmeet before so I'm just sort of going off of what I've been told and what I've seen online.
I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: reader is referred to as “Princess”, slight grinding and very little making out, intercourse implied at the end
Triggers: N/A
Tumblr media
A fanmeet. That's what this was called apparently. Your friend had been talking about it for months now. She had won two tickets in a raffle but none of her other friends agreed to go, you were the only one who said yes.
You adored your friend, she had been there for you many times when you needed her, and had helped pick you help when you hit rock bottom.
The least you could do is go to a fanmeet with her for one of those hundreds of kpop groups she adored. There was no doubt nothing could go wrong with this. Right….?
You knew the name of the group and the name of the members from the thousands of times she had told you. Driving it into your head so you wouldn't forget when you had conversations about them.
The members were attractive, and as far as you knew they had some pretty good songs. Nothing that truly caught your eye. You were more of a kpop pirate-group kinda gal. That's right. You knew kpop. Very few, but you knew a few groups. Ateez was top of your list though.
The line wasn't going very long so the waiting was boring, but seeing the smile on your friends face was making it worth it. She had never been this happy about anything before, as far as you had seen.
You had gotten so wrapped up in your thoughts that you didn't realize it was your duos turn. The squeal-like noise your friend let out almost made you crack up from how out of place it sounded.
Watching her walk on up to the first member, he had faded salmon-y pink hair and beautiful sharp cat-like eyes. She spoke about this one often. What was his name? Oh right. Hyunjin.
You didn't think meeting with each member would go so quickly but before you knew it you were sitting down in front of the last one, the youngest one. His name was Jeongin, but everyone called him I.N
Out of all the members she had spoken about over the years, he was your favorite. It wasn't just about his looks though. He was very talented and at such a young age he became part of one of the biggest kpop boy groups.
His voice when he spoke was so different from his singing voice. When he sang, he sounded like a siren pulling you in slowly to take you away to the depths of the ocean. When he spoke, he made you want to reach out and squish his cheeks.
This boy was absolutely adorable. From his fluffy dark hair, to his smile that reminded you of a precious angel who left earth too soon, to his biceps that were sprinkled with body glitter, then to his- wait. Biceps.
You hadn't realized before in his photos or videos, but boy was he packing some muscle. Eyes lingering on his arms for a moment too long, his voice pulling you from your trance.
“ hiii, whats your name? ”
Looking up to him, mouth slightly open for a moment before speaking up and answering his question.
“ that's a beautiful name. have you got anything for me to sign? ”
Nodding slowly you passed him the album and hoodie you had bought just earlier at a table selling merch. Watching him right out his signature.
“ you're beautiful. ”, the words tumbled out of your mouth too quickly, you hadn't realized what you were saying until you had said it. A hot blaze of blush settling across your cheeks.
“ oh really? ”, a smirk adoring his lips as he asked you. Watching you nod slowly before he leant closer to you.
“ you're very beautiful as well. ”, a wink. Something that caused you an internal panic attack because he was just so close to you. If you had leaned forward, you were sure your lips would touch his. Staring into his eyes nervously.
Letting out an almost shaky breath of relief when he finally pulled back and passed you your things. Giving you another bright smile and a small hug as he said bye.
“ it was very nice to meet you, princess. ”, nodding shyly, you stood from your seat and walked on over to your friend rather quickly. Your heart was beating fast and you could swear you felt his eyes still on your body as you walked away.
When you both had made your way to a sort of rest stop area, you heard a loud voice booming in the room you had just left. The voice was mentioning something about the group taking a short break before they'd be back.
You were waiting outside the bathroom waiting for your friend, telling a security guard that you were waiting on someone when he tried to lead you away with a group of other fans. Not understanding why he was doing so until you saw the idols pass by to go to the rest room as well.
All but one. One of the idols wasn't following the rest of the group into the bathroom. The youngest. Stood in front of you staring you down. That damn smirk on his lips again as he stared deep into your eyes.
Within just seconds you were pressed up against the locked door of the bathroom your best friend was in. A gasp escaping your lips as you stared up at him. How had you gotten yourself into a position like this?
At first you thought maybe you had accidentally fainted. When you felt his lips pressed against yours though, you knew you were awake and well.
Well? You wouldn't quite call it that anymore because when his tongue prodded against your lips, your heart almost stopped.
Arms coming up to wrap around his neck, you pressed closer to him. Your lips molding together just right, almost as if you were made for him. He tasted faintly like coconut or maybe vanilla lip balm and smelled of….matcha?
That's right. You had seen him drinking a matcha latte before the fanmeet had officially started. He had good taste in drinks. Matcha lattes were a classic.
Letting out a soft gasp into the kiss when you felt his knee slot between your legs. Feeling his bulge press gently against your thigh. Unable to resist the urge and grinding in sync with him slowly.
Breathing slightly labored from the intense feeling and his lips constantly pressed against yours. You could get used to this forever. You knew you wouldn't be able to though, so you held onto it for now.
When your friend suddenly unlocked the door your “attacker” pulled from you. Slipping something into your hand and winking at you before he finally entered the bathroom his friends had went into. Leaving you feeling fuzzy inside. Your lips slightly swollen from the kiss-attack.
Slipping the paper into your pocket and giving your friend a smile as she walked out. Following her along to the exit of the building. Glancing back at the hall where you had just made out with the idol.
Once in the car, you made sure your friend was unable to see what you were doing because you knew it would be all over if she saw the note. Reading over it with a blush fanning back over your cheeks and all the way up to your ears.
    “ xxx-xxx-xxx ♡
      I'll be waiting for your call tonight.
                         — xoxo, Jeongin. ”
Would you call him? Would you run the risk of a scandal coming out? Would you be a idols possible fwb?
Of course you were going to call him. You'd be stupid not to.

Hey i really liked your headcanons for rooks family! I’ve been obsessed with the idea of his parents being hoarders and I was wondering if you had any more to add? If not that’s alright!🙏
Finally got to this, so sorry for the wait!!
Random HC's I Probably Overexplain - Rook Edition 1
TW: Hoarding (obviously), health issues, parentification of his older sister, dead (exotic) pet First things first, Rook is the youngest of seven. His mother has always been one who stays home, enjoying the art of taxidermy and studying the physiology of animals, where his father has always been more of a hunter. Like I mentioned in my Family HC's, Rook is very close with his mother, as she taught him to appreciate the sacrifice of death in order to sustain the circle of life. However, that 16 year gap between Rook and his siblings made her realize just how much stuff she had gotten rid of over the years that were testaments to her kids childhoods. As her kids started to move out and leave home, panic started to set in and she couldn't bring herself to get rid of any of their things that really, should have been thrown out. She tried to keep it all organized, but when her husband gently suggested they start going through it all, taking photos of what they didn't need, she broke down and refused, telling him it wasn't the same as having a physical copy of it all. Her husband backed down - after all, he was barely at home. He could deal with the mess for the few days he would stay home for the sake of the comfort of his wife, and his time out in the woods meant that his kids had another place to be as the house seemed to squeeze them out...even though that was the last thing his wife wanted.
Rook was a surprise, to say the least, but once his mother was pregnant with him, her nesting only went to 11 and it was the snapping point for one of the two kids still living at home. The elder of the two packed their bags, left a note tacked to one of her taxidermy animals, and went no contact, leaving their 16 year old sister and baby brother behind.
Rook's older sister couldn't bear the thought of Rook growing up in the environment her mother had made for him, and decided that at least until she was 18, she would stay and try to clean, as well as keep record of what the house used to look like so that maybe one day, she could restore it completely. However, when her mother caught her trying to clean the kitchen enough to try and cook, her mother broke down in tears. Her father told her that if she stressed her mother out too much, she would be solely responsible if the baby died. Because of this, she stopped cleaning, but vowed to stay to try and be a buffer for her brother, as well as get him his basic education if nothing else.
Postpartum depression ended up hitting Mrs. Hunt really hard, and once her husband confirmed his daughter was comfortable taking care of Rook for a few hours at a time, he spent his time trying to take care of his wife.
Rook and his sister ended up spending a lot of their time outside or in her room - which, she had finally been allowed to get rid of things she didn't want anymore as she was able to reason with her mother that the baby should at least have a cleaner area to crawl as he got older. This ended up being even more beneficial, as his crib was in her room and she became the primary caretaker for him. During this time, her parents were just trying to keep her mom from giving up on everything.
When Rook was about two, their mother finally tried to reach out to a company that would help her clean, however, because the family lived off the grid, they had some money, but not enough for the job that was required. Rook's sister gently volunteered to start cleaning, but at this point, her father had also gotten used to the "cozy" feeling of having his kid's belongings all around him and struggled with the idea of having anything change, especially as his wife was just starting to get better, he thought changing her environment wouldn't be beneficial for her.
So Rook's sister respected her parent's decision and continued trying to take care of Rook to the best of her ability, however, she did so outside as often as possible, so in the winter when she had to stay inside with him, they would both get incredibly ill from black mold exposure. Her parents wrote it off as a cold, so her tipping point was when he couldn't breathe, even when she wrapped him up and took him outside. She swaddled him as best she could and trekked on foot to the nearest town, knocked on the first door she could get to, and begged for assistance for him. The people in the home drove them both to the hospital, where he was treated for his symptoms, and she was treated for frostbite. Her dad ended up tracking them down, acting glad to see them, but on the way home reprimanded her for pretending to be Rook's parent and for not letting the family handle it themselves, and making sure she didn't tell anyone about the situation at home.
As Rook got older, his sister took on the responsibility of getting him into school, as well as teaching him how to hunt/fish and general survival skills, the way her father had taught her. This type of influence kinda snapped her dad out of his agoraphobia and he started trying to get more involved with Rook and raising him, still out of the house. When Rook was about nine, his sister and mom got into a huge argument, and her mother blamed her for being the reason she wasn't close with her son. Rook then de-escalated the situation by showing his mother he had been reading her old research journals. While it wasn't a lot, it was enough for his mom to get her workspace back. His sister helped her clean and organize that space to the best of her ability, his father started to hunt more often again, and his mother started to lead him through the importance of the circle of life. As balance started to seep back into their lives, his older sister started feeling more comfortable leaving Rook in the care of her parents and really get to start her own life. She still feels guilt for leaving, but she promised Rook to stay penpals and they did! She would regularly send him trinkets from her stays wherever she was, and often sent photos of her visiting with their other big siblings, telling him one day she would come back for him and bring him to see the rest of the world. That was all Rook had to hang on to as his parents started to spiral again now that another child had left the house.
When Rook was about 12, his father brought home a hyacinth macaw for him, (yes by unethical means, but you knew that), and he found it absolutely gorgeous. He loved that bird more than anything, so when it went missing one day, he was absolutely heartbroken. He ended up finding the poor bird weeks later, stuck behind some books on his mother's bookshelf. His mother saw it as an excellent opportunity to brighten up the home with a splash of colour by getting Rook to taxidermy his beloved pet. After that day, he decided pets were overrated - animals were meant for food, for study, or for trophies and that was it.
It's not that he doesn't have good memories of his parents, there were certainly really high highs, but there were also very low lows. His parents haven't gotten much better in the house they live in, and he's gone minimal contact with them. He's still trying to get over the feeling of abandonment his sister left him with, but doesn't blame her for leaving. Overall, talking about home and family is just painful for him, so he'd rather not. He likes to watch people because he fantasizes about what his life could have been like if he were in their shoes instead.

You Ride with Me Tonight. Pt. 2
Tumblr media
——
I know I said I was gonna wait and get input on this but I got excited and wrote what I wanted anyway :)
ps. This has not been spell checked or edited this is rogue :))
——
Genres: Kinda angsty, will eventually be smut, au where they’re just a bit more bold
Warnings: very handsy, sexual implications, nothing too serious yet
The Ride
———————————————————————————
You didn’t know what to think. Normally, the boys left out the back immediately and you would wait with the other producers until the audience cleared out. But this wasn’t normal, you hadn’t ever been publicly associated with the group, and now here you were on live tv practically sitting on Hobi’s lap.
When the boys finished their performance and the curtains closed, they all shook hands with Jimmy, as did you, and bowed out to get back to the hotel. J-Hope made a point to be last, giving Jimmy a big hug and even bigger smile. On his way past you he grabbed your wrist and pulled you with him towards the van. The rest of the group had already loaded up, and the only spaces left were in the middle row, right next to Yoongi. It’s like they planned this, seeing the four boys piled in the three seats in the back. Hobi ushered you into the seat and followed behind you, shutting the door. He leaned into your neck and whispered;
“You ride with me tonight”
You couldn’t help what happened next. As the driver takes off, you roll over a speed bump and gasp, failing to cover the slight moan his breath on your throat pulls from you. Your body reacted on instinct, leaning into his words to feel his lips meet your neck. You slap your hand over your mouth and retreat back to your own space, sitting up straight and hiding behind your fingers. You were not going to survive this.
You had spent 6 months with these men so far, learning their bodies and the ways they can move. Guiding them as best you can to find their own confidence in dance. That, however, meant very close physical contact often, and you were not immune to your nature. These men are carved out of porcelain like walking Greek Gods. You’ve stayed up late thinking about the way Hobi moves his hips, and how Yoongi bites his lips when he’s really feeling himself. The things they could do to you..
Your retreat did not go unnoticed, the boys in the back stopping their conversation at the sound of your hand hitting your mouth. Jungkook, being the youngest, was forced on the laps of his elders in the back row. He leaned forward, putting his head directly between you and Hoseok, and turned to look at you.
“You okay Y/n?”
You closed your eyes for a moment and swallowed, placing your hand back in your lap and smiling.
“Yes Kookie, my breath got caught in my throat when we went over that bump back there. I’m okay.”
He seemed to believe you, smiling back at you and nodding, he returned to his mates to continue their discussion. You breathed a sigh of relief, temporarily calming your nerves. This, however, did not last.
The driver and Namjoon are deep in conversation about New York, and you’re trying to listen to what the driver is saying about restaurants when you feel a cold hand slide onto your thigh. You looked down in confusion, Hoseok did not have cold hands, and he was not sitting on your left. You followed the slim fingers up dark veins until you met Yoongi’s gaze. This time your breath really did catch in your throat, struggling to comprehend not one, but two of them coming onto you in succession.
Yoongi’s fingers slid over your thigh to reach where it met your other, not breaking eye contact, he squeezed at your leg and winked. This, you assumed, was a signal. Hoseok’s warm hand met your waist, just underneath where your shirt met your pants. Together their fingers gently prodded at your skin, kneading into you as you finally broke your staring contest with Yoongi. You bowed your head and took a deep breath, letting it out shakily as you tried to take back control of your thoughts. Everyone is in this van together. This cannot be happening, they can’t be doing this, somebody is going to notice, I can’t stop myself from-
“Don’t worry baby”
You felt Yoongi’s nose brush against your ear.
“We’ll take care of you”
Hoseok leaned into your side, hand sliding across your back and lips breathing his words into your neck again. Your whole body tensed, caught between overthinking and giving in. Their hands felt so good on your skin, and you didn’t want this to stop, but it was all happening so fast. Hoseok pulled at your belt loop with his hand across your back, lifting your skirt up just enough for Yoongi to inch his hand closer to your center.
You were like putty at their fingertips, melting into every little movement and holding back all the sounds that threaten to leave your lips. Yoongi leaned into you harder as he moved his hand, catching your ear between his teeth, he swiped at it with his tongue before biting at it gently and closing his lips around it. You couldn’t help but lean into his mouth, exposing your neck to a waiting Hoseok who licked a thin stripe up your neck. This was it, there was no way you could hold yourself back and stay quie-
“We’re here.”
The boys retracted their hands and their tongues, sitting up straight and relaxed as if nothing had happened seconds before. You felt significantly less composed, you could feel the saliva on your neck from Hoseok, you knew your skirt was hiked up just a little bit too much on Yoongi’s side. But you took advantage of the hustle of everyone unbuckling and adjusted your hair and your clothes, trying to keep your gaze down.
Everyone unloaded the van and started walking into the hotel. Management had already checked in for you guys so it was straight to the elevators and up, having received your keycard at the studio alongside the boys. Everyone was on the 33rd floor, and you all piled into one glass elevator to get to the top. Smooshed into the back with 8 people occupying the space, you feel your ass press against the glass where a hand lay, grabbing at your skirt and on display for anyone looking at the elevators from the ground floor.
You snap your head to the right to see Hoseok smirking, eyeing you as he slides his fingers down, to dip below your skirt. He hooks them up and just barely brushes against your cloth covered core. This causes you to squeeze your thighs together and bow your head, desperately keeping your groan at bay. Yoongi, who had been infront of the two of you this whole time, turns around and settles his knee between your legs, forcing Hoseok’s fingers to press deeper into you while his leg puts pressure on your clit.
You throw your head back, leaning against the glass wall of the elevator you stare at Hoseok as you grind into the thigh between your legs, feeling his fingers push against your hole.
The elevator rises counting off the floors in a robotic voice, and like the flip of a switch floor 32 is announced and both men have returned to their own space and suddenly learned how to keep their hands to themselves. Everyone unloads from the elevator, never looking back or considering what happened behind them, and splits off to their rooms. Jin and Namjoon share a suite, as do Hoseok and Yoongi of course, and the younger three boys share one room. You, coincidentally, get a room to yourself, though not nearly as big or decked out as the boys.
You keep your head down and walk towards the end of the hall to round the corner, your smaller room was a few turns away from the suites the boys got to stay in. You passed the last ornately designed hotel door, the “Celebrity Suites” offered by the hotel, and a hand caught the back belt loop on your skirt. You turn around to see Hoseok and Yoongi leaning out of their door, the hand of the latter still gripping at your bottoms.
“We’re not done with you yet.”

Chapter 10 - The Weekend Begins
Tumblr media
When the blonde approached you, he seemed to be studying you heavily. Your eyes followed him as he walked around you, rubbing his chin in confusion.
Finally, you asked: “And you are…?”
He simply said: “Chan.” When got back in front of you, he put his hands on his hips. “You’re the girl Jisoo-Hyung and Jeonghan-Hyung have to help out, hm?”
“I guess so…” you glanced up at the rest of the men. Seokmin looked over at Joshua.
“You’re right. She’s really pretty.” Joshua forced back a chuckle as he glanced in your direction. When he felt the daggers that were Seungcheol’s eyes, Seokmin pursed his lips together. “Sorry, Hyung.”
Seungcheol now was the one to walk over to you. “I really didn’t think we’d have to meet but-.” When he stuck a hand in your direction, you looked at him. “I’m Seungcheol. Those two knuckleheads over there-.” He motioned to Joshua and Jeonghan, who you quickly noticed were huddled together, seemingly bickering about something. You caught sight of their narrow brows as they spoke in low voices to one another. “Those are our brothers.”
“Brothers.” You quickly took Seungcheol’s hand, and he smiled when you politely bowed your head. He – just like the rest – was radiating with elegance and beauty. By simply standing in one place, you could feel the otherworldly presence surrounding every one of them. It felt stronger than Joshua or Jeonghan. Could it be that you were adjusting to their constant presence? When you glanced over at Joshua and Jeonghan again, their bickering had simmered down to the usual banter and snide remarks, before they looked away from one another. When Chan slipped up next to you again, you felt the sensation of plastic hit your leg and you looked down. Inside the plastic bag you were gripping were the snacks that Woozi had paid for. “Oh. Joshua-.” You hurried over to him, handing him the bag. Joshua took it, peering inside. He could feel Jeonghan slithering up behind him, peering over his shoulder. “I just grabbed tons of stuff. There’s ice cream, kimbap, noodles, yogurts, and milk. I wasn’t sure what you would be in the mood for, so-.”
Joshua smiled as you rambled to yourself about your findings. “Thank you.” He said. You offered him a smile. Just then, Joshua felt Jeonghan nudge him, reaching out himself and grabbing the bag first. “Hey. Those are for me.” He frowned, his hands extending quicker.
“Aah, gluttony is a sin,” Jeonghan said with a grin in Joshua’s direction. Joshua couldn’t help but scoff; the duo both took hold of the bag and looked inside. The playful banter they shared calmed you as you watched them. As if on cue, you saw Chan and Seokmin follow behind, asking their older brothers for some of the snacks as well. As you stood by, you watched Joshua easily pass one to Seokmin. When Chan reached for one, the trio of older angels playfully denied him. They looked amused for a second at the distressed youngest, before Jeonghan finally passed him a snack as well. The smiles on their faces were content and angelic. They seemed happy to be back in the presence of loved ones, pushing all previously held disagreements behind them as soon as the youngest ones approached.
“Why are you guys even here?” you asked, looking back at Seungcheol and Wonwoo as they kept their distance from the seemingly much louder bunch. The duo shared a glance at one another, then turned back to you. Wonwoo was the one who approached you, putting a hand on your shoulder. He turned you back towards Jeonghan and Joshua, a finger extended to point to the duo as they opened a bag of chips, all four men sending their hands inside to grab a few bites. “Is it because Joshua got hurt?”
“Kind of. The longer Joshua and Jeonghan stay on Earth, the more they’re going to act like humans. That means the more they’re going to get hurt.” He said. You glanced back over to him. “They’ve already been here a long time.”
“How long?” you asked curiously.
Seungcheol put his hands in his pockets as he looked up at the men snacking. “For humans? It might have been about a calendar year. But to us-.” He motioned between himself and the rest of the group. “But where we’re from, we’ve been waiting for them to come back for about 100 years.”
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
The tension between Joshua and Jeonghan seemed to drop after their brothers left, Chan and Seokmin saying their goodbyes. You watched as Seungcheol stood in front of Joshua and Jeonghan, arms crossed. You had a full view of his back, broad and defined under his white shirt as he spoke.
“Don’t play around anymore.” He said, eyes darting to Joshua. “Finish what you have to finish so you come back.”
“Yeah,” Joshua said.
“Try not to let your feelings get in the way. If not for yourself, then for us.” Joshua didn’t respond to Seungcheol’s comment this time, only avoiding his eyes. “See you soon.”
“See you soon,” Jeonghan said, waving him off. Seungcheol approached you as well, smiling.
“Sorry, we came unannounced.”
“It’s ok.” You assured. “It was short, but they seemed happy to see you.” Seungcheol smiled once again. “You can come back if you want. If you can…”
“Can we?!” Chan gasped, eyes wide in excitement. “We should. We can get some good food together. That would be fun. We can bring everyone next time. Jun and Hansol, and Minghao too.” You smiled at Chan, nodding in agreement.
“Hopefully, this will all end soon enough and we won’t have to. But we’ll remember the offer.” You nodded, bowing one more time, this time, Seungcheol kindly returned the bow himself. “Alright, let’s go.” He said, motioning the others out. You watched them head out, waving one last goodbye before finally closing the door. As you locked it, you rested your head against the door, letting out a deep sigh.
“Are you okay?” You heard Jeonghan ask. When you looked over, you smiled.
“Yeah.” You said. “I’m glad they came to see you. They must care.”
“They do.” Jeonghan nodded. “They want what’s best for us.” He offered a brief side glance at Joshua, who simply nodded quietly.
You clapped your hands together as you turned to face them. “I’m going to get some rest. Finals are getting closer.” You pushed past the duo, making your way into your bedroom. Before you made your way inside, you turned towards them. “Need anything?” Both angels shook their heads in refusal.
“No.” They said together.
“Okay. Night.” With a gentle wave, you headed inside, closing the door behind you. When you heard the muffled sounds of the duo getting settled in for the night, you pressed your ear to the door.
“I cannot believe you had them come down for all this,” Joshua said, still surprised.
“I didn’t know what else to do. I was hoping they could knock some sense back into you. Please be careful now, okay?” You heard Jeonghan’s voice say gently.
“Whatever.” You frowned, unaccustomed to Joshua’s seemingly passive and annoyed tone, waiting a moment to see if they would continue their conversation. You were hoping some of the very large gaps in your knowledge would be filled the longer you listened. However, the TV turned on low, and it became the only noise you heard beyond the door. Sighing, you made your way to the bed and crawled inside. You rested your head on the pillow, feeling a familiar bump in the fabric. Reaching your hand, you pulled out the taser you so long ago had pointed at Joshua. You quickly set it in your bedside drawer and curled up under the covers, falling asleep within minutes.
When Jeonghan heard what seemed like muffled snoring and rustling from your room, he looked at Joshua. “You want to go now?” he asked. “Stores are still open.”
Joshua looked over, an obvious hint of annoyance in his eyes. Jeonghan did not seem bothered, however, and stood up. “...Yeah,” Joshua finally relented, standing up as well. The duo tiptoed out of the apartment, careful not to wake you up as they headed into the late-night streets of Seoul.

“Guys!” Mingyu called, his voice ringing through the dewy morning air of early morning. Minnie, Seungkwan, and Hoshi, all of whom were chatting at the front of the building, looked over to see him hurry in their direction. “I need your help.”
“With finals?” Seungkwan asked. “I don’t think so.”
“No.” Mingyu sighed. “I’m planning a birthday party.”
The collection of beaming faces made Mingyu immediately feel a boost of confidence. Minnie crossed her arms. “Did she finally talk to you?”
“We talked yesterday. I told her that I had her entire birthday planned for right after finals.” Hoshi smiled as he heard Mingyu share the news of your conversation, nodding as he listened. “I need your help.”
“Well, what do you have planned?” Hoshi asked curiously. Mingyu blinked.
“Nothing.” He beamed as he sputtered the word. When he saw his friend’s shoulders drop, Mingyu frowned a bit. “But I have some ideas. I need your help deciding what will be best.”
Despite their disappointment that Mingyu had nothing planned for a birthday that would be coming sooner rather than later, their smiles quickly returned. “Got it,” Minnie said.
“Anything you need,” Seungkwan added.
“It’ll be the best party ever!” Hoshi said, emphasizing his comment with powerful hand motions. Mingyu grinned.
“Okay. I was thinking at lunch we can-.”
“Mingyu!” His voice immediately went quiet as a female voice called behind him. When he turned around, Mina was hurrying up, smiling sweetly. “Hi everyone. Good luck with your finals today.”
“Thanks…” Minnie said. Mina blinked.
“What are you guys talking about?” She asked. “You all look happy, whatever it is.”
“Uh, nothing,” Mingyu said, smiling politely in her direction. Mina nodded. “Are you headed to class?”
“Yeah.” She said. “I thought we could go together.”
“Uh, maybe. I was just-.” As Mingyu was trying to come up with an excuse, a distant laughter perked his ears up and he looked over. Mina followed his gaze, frowning at the sight of three figures walking down the road together.
Joshua, Jeonghan and you were talking about your first final of the day, making sure that the group of you was ready. Mainly you, it seemed, as Joshua and Jeonghan were throwing quiz questions in your direction almost as fast as a baseball machine in a batting cage. You couldn’t help but break into amused laughter as their rapid-fire questions eventually melted into both of them just shouting random questions, one after another without you being able to get a word in edge-wise.
“Enough, enough.” You laughed, raising your hands to cover their mouths. “I think my head will explode at this rate!”
Jeonghan moved your hand from his lips before uttering: “Then you’re ready.”
Joshua moved your hand as well: “We’ve done all we can do.” Again, you had to laugh. As the three of you got closer, you immediately caught a glimpse of your friends, all gathered together and talking. You could tell they must have noticed you as well because they all turned to you quietly. Mina was there as well, smiling and offering you a wave. You waved back, stepping closer to the group. Joshua and Jeonghan went quiet, following behind as you gripped the strap of your bag. You had chosen to avoid people who had done nothing to harm you, all due to your feelings of self-worth. Hoshi finding you in the library was the first time that you had spoken to any of them since you and Mina had that conversation, as speaking to them meant the possibility of them asking about Mingyu. Or worse, you run into Mingyu in the process. However, taking a deep breath, you looked at Mingyu, who offered you a kind smile.
“You guys aren’t mad enough at me to come to my birthday party, right?” You finally asked. It seemed your immediate attempt at rekindling your friendship worked wonders, as your friends broke into smiles. Minnie hurried up to you, enveloping you in a hug.
“Duh! Are you kidding? I still owe you a manicure!”
“We were waiting for you to feel better so we could party plan!” Seungkwan said. Hoshi hurried up to you as well, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and pulling you into a little side hug, which you happily responded to by looping your arms around his waist.
“It’s going to be amazing! Mingyu told us he’s planning everything!”
Mingyu sighed as he felt Mina shoot a very immediate glance into his side, but she said nothing. His eyes, instead, wandered to Joshua and Jeonghan. He stared at the duo, specifically Joshua, as they watched you talk to your friends. It was as if nothing had happened, that the group of you had been talking without any breaks at all. Joshua seemed to catch Mingyu’s glance. He only returned it briefly, before glancing away.
“You can invite whoever you want,” Mingyu said quickly, alerting your attention to him. “All of us, of course. But if there’s anyone else, just let me know.”
“Okay.” You smiled. “I’ll let you know soon.” With a smile, you saw Mina pop up into your side view, taking your hand. When you looked at her, she only squeezed it.
“Your birthday is soon? That’s amazing!”
“Yeah.” You smiled a bit. “It is.”
“I hope birthday luck follows you to your finals, then.” She said.
“Thank you. Good luck.” You said. Mina nodded, before stepping closer to Mingyu and motioning down the path.
“I’m going to leave first then. Mingyu-.” She glanced at him. “Why don’t we walk together? Since our class is in the same building.” Her second attempt at walking over seemed to fluster him again, and she smiled.
“Uh…” Mingyu’s voice trailed off as he tried to think of what to say. He glanced in your direction, and you only smiled kindly. Despite that, he could see your eyes avoiding the black-haired girl at all costs.
“Mine is on the other side of campus.” You said, pointing in that direction. “We’ll meet up after.”
“Okay.” He said. “Good luck, guys.”
“Good luck!” Everyone else called before Mina and Mingyu headed down the path to their first class of the morning. You looked between your friends as they seemed to get their belongings ready. “We should probably all get going,” Minnie said.
Hoshi nodded. “Agreed.”
With another round of ‘good luck’ and ‘fighting’ thrown around, you all headed your own ways, hoping that finals would end just as quickly as they arrived.
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
Mina was quiet her entire walk with Mingyu, but he didn’t really mind. Gripping his bag, he waited patiently for the door of his class to approach so he could say his goodbyes and disappear into the door, free of the awkward tension that swarmed them. However, Mina suddenly spoke up:
“Do you ever wonder what her relationship is with Joshua and Jeonghan?” Mingyu looked over in confusion. “They’re always on top of her.”
“I mean, not really,” Mingyu said. “I think they’re just friends.”
“I think Joshua likes her.” Mingyu grimaced at the thought, the brunette individual staring him down popped into his mind at the mere mention of his name. “They’d make a good match. They’re both very calm, good people.”
“Tch. As if.” Mina smiled to herself.
“Are you jealous?”
“What? No,” he said. “I just don’t think it is true.” Shaking his head, he scoffed. “Can we please change the subject?”
Mina nodded as he smiled to herself, a gardener successfully planting a new seed in her garden. “What do you have planned for her birthday?” She asked.
“Uh, not sure yet.” He said. “I was thinking of asking my dad to use our beach house on Jeju Island. We could make it a whole weekend.”
“That sounds fun. What can I do to help?” Mingyu stopped walking now, looking over at Mina.
“What?”
“I want to help. Please? I’ll do anything you need.”
“Why do you want to help?” he asked. Mina paused a minute as if she was confused by his question.
“Because she’s your friend, Mingyu.” She stated simply, offering yet another smile. “And any friend of yours is going to be a friend of mine.”
“You were just talking about her behind her back.”
“I was not!” She gasped. “I was just getting your thoughts. You know her better than I do.” She shrugged. “I just want to help. I promise.”
Mingyu sighed, pursing his lips together. “Okay.” He said. “Okay, you can help.” Mina beamed at the task, clasping her hands together.
“I won’t let you down.” She said. Checking her watch, she blinked. “Oh. We have to go or we’ll be late. Good luck, Mingyu.” Mingyu waved as Mina headed down the hallway, disappearing into one of the doors. He couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as he made his way down to the end of the hall himself, and entered the first door.
Finals would be over soon, and God he couldn’t wait to make a weekend that you could never forget.
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
By the time finals week, and with it the semester, came to an end, you were all beat. Classes ended for the summer, signaling to you and your friends that a major event was about to happen. You all gathered in front of the school entrance, relief and exhaustion mixed throughout each of your faces. Even Joshua and Jeonghan seemed a bit more relieved than you had imagined.
“I’m so glad to be done!” Seungkwan stretched his arms over his head in glee.
“Yeah, now we have time to relax! Finally!” Hoshi said. You felt Minnie slide up next to you, smiling as she took your hands into hers, holding them all up in front of your faces.
“I’m thinking manicures tonight, so we’re ready for Mingyu’s party.”
“He said he was going to finalize the place today.” You smiled gently. “He’s so thoughtful to do all of this.”
“I’m sure with his wallet, it’ll be amazing! And we’re going to make you look so hot. Make sure you bring that dress again, okay?” you laughed a bit, nodding. As the two of you moved from Mingyu to the style of manicure you wanted, Mingyu was watching from his spot beside Hoshi and Seungkwan, also leading their conversation. For the past week, Mingyu was juggling finals and birthday planning like a professional acrobat. He was on phone calls between classes as often as he could to make sure that everything he wanted was set up properly, and ready to go. The last call, which he had just made, was to his father.
I want to borrow the beach house in Jeju.
Are you planning a trip?
Kind of. A friend’s birthday party.
Ah. Will Mina be there?
…She’s offered to plan with me. So…I guess so.
Good. It’s nice to know the two of you are working together. Even if it’s a friend’s birthday, make sure you take Mina somewhere nice. Just the two of you...
The last comment made Mingyu’s heartstrings tug, and he focused on watching you to make himself feel better. You were smiling as whatever Minnie told you was ridiculous enough to receive a bright, infectious smile and laugh from the both of you. You were beaming, and Mingyu was glad to see it. He wanted to see that face on your every second of the day. You turned your attention to Joshua and Jeonghan, which meant Mingyu quickly followed as well, watching as you approached the duo who were talking to one another.
“What do you think?” you asked Joshua and Jeonghan, turning your simple nails towards the duo. They looked over at you as you pointed to each one: “I’m thinking all red, but maybe something nice on the ring finger.”
“I’m thinking sparkles,” Minnie added.
Mingyu watched Joshua and Jeonghan each reach out, taking a hand into their grasp. Mingyu pouted, quickening his pace the second he could. “Hey.” He said, making you all look over. “Why don’t you ask me?”
You laughed a bit. However, before you could answer, Joshua and Jeonghan’s grip on your hands tightened, and they pulled you closer. “Oh.” You looked at them.
“We already decided,” Jeonghan said. You grinned as Joshua took your index finger, rocking it back and forth and sticking his tongue out, examining it like an artist examines a sculpture in the works with one eye closed and everything.
“Yeah, you’re not needed.” He said.
“Hey.” Mingyu pouted, crossing his arms. Taking your hands back, you shooed the duo away.
“You both are ridiculous.” You said. Turning to Mingyu, you offered him your hands next. “What do you suggest, oh wise one?” Mingyu hesitated for a second, but gently took your fingers into his hands, looking down at your nails. You felt the gentleness of his touch, yet it burned you more than the hottest rays of the afternoon sun. You had to look down at your hands as well to keep yourself calm. Regardless of everything, your heart still beat a little quicker when Mingyu was this close to you.
“I think sparkle will be nice on the ring.” He said, nodding his head. “As for the color…” he shrugged. “I always heard that a person’s favorite color matches their eyes, so…” You laughed a bit, pulling your hands away and covering your cheeks, worried their redness would become obvious.
“Get a room!” Seungkwan begged, breaking the awkward silence between the two of you. Minnie took your hand, grinning.
“I told you sparkles would be the key. Come on, let’s go before the salon gets crowded!”
“Okay.” You looked at Joshua and Jeonghan. “I’ll see you later.”
“Yeah,” Jeonghan said.
“We’ll keep them company, don’t worry!” Hoshi assured, grabbing Joshua and Jeonghan by the arms as he popped up between them. They looked down at the beaming individual, amused smiles on their faces. You nodded, waving your hand as you and Minnie headed off campus. Mingyu sighed.
“Alright.” He said, looking over the rest of the guys. “We have to start planning everything. Want to come to my place? My father’s out for the day.”
“Heck yeah!” Seungkwan grinned. Joshua and Jeonghan shared a glance, before being led off by an eager Hoshi as the group of men made their way off campus as well.
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
“Awww.” Minnie sighed as she peered inside the salon. “It’s so crowded already. I knew I should have made a reservation.”
“That’s ok.” You assured. “We can always come back.”
“Well, I want to make sure our nails are done.” She said. Clicking her tongue, she looked at you. “Wait here. I’ll go see if they have any openings. If not, we’re coming back first thing tomorrow.”
“Okay.” You said behind a chuckle as Minnie charged in, the door closing behind her as a welcome bell rang. You rested against the wall, pulling your phone out of your pocket and taking the silence to scroll through your messages. It wasn’t long after that the sound of a bell rang once more, and you looked over in hopes of seeing Minnie. However, a few stores down, you saw a familiar short frame with jet-black hair and matching accessories. You blinked. “Oh…hey!” You called, and the figure looked over, seemingly with a snack hanging from his mouth. “Jihoon!”
“Ah.” Taking his bite, Jihoon hurried up to you and smiled. “Hey. Long time. Did finals finally end?”
“Yeah. We all finished today.”
“Well, good luck.” Jihoon smiled, and you quickly thanked him. “What are you doing here?”
“Well-.” You pointed to the salon, specifically, the girl talking to the worker inside. “My friend and I are hoping we can get our nails done soon.”
“Any occasion?” Jihoon asked.
“I’m having a birthday party.” You smiled.
“Ah. Happy birthday! I don’t have a gift.” You laughed a bit, shaking your head.
“No, no. You don’t need to.” You assured. Just then, your eyes widened.
You can invite whoever you want.
You immediately looked back at Jihoon after Mingyu’s comment flooded your brain, eyes beaming. “Come to my party!”
“What?” Jihoon asked.
“My friend is throwing a party for my birthday weekend.” You said. “All of the friends I told you about will be there. You should come. I promised I would introduce you.” Jihoon recalled the photo you had shown him of your friends, shifting in his spot. He put his hand in his pocket as he took a bite of his snack. You frowned, immediately getting the hesitant feeling from him. “Oh, I’m sorry. Was that to forward?”
“No,” Jihoon said. “I appreciate the invite. I just worry I’ll make the scene uncomfortable. They don’t know me.”
“Well, they’ll get to know you.” You assured. “I’d love it if you came.”
“Well-.” Jihoon didn’t seem convinced, but you suddenly motioned to the door again.
“My friend is coming out. You’ll know her too if you meet now.” As if on cue, Minnie stepped out of the store, the door closing behind her.
“Good news. They said we can-.” Minnie was interrupted by Jihoon’s presence. “Oh. Hello.” She nodded her head politely.
“Hi.” He said.
“This is Jihoon. He’s the friend I told you I had met. The one I’ve hung out with a few times.”
“Aaah.” She said. “I’m Minnie. It’s nice to meet you.” She said. Jihoon nodded.
“I’ve heard many things about you. The pleasures mine.” Despite the politeness, he still seemed a bit nervous.
“I’m trying to convince him to come to my party. Mingyu said I could invite other people.” Minnie looked over at Jihoon, who by now had long finished his snack.
“Yeah, totally,” Minnie said. “It’ll be fun!”
“Well, if you think I won’t be a burden.” He said. “Then I’ll come.”
You clapped your hands in excitement. “Okay. Once I get the final details, I’ll message you. Is that ok? It’ll be this weekend for sure.”
“I’ll keep my calendar open.” He said. You nodded, Minnie finally getting your attention back.
“Let’s go. They’ll squeeze us in if we go now. I told them it was your wedding.”
“My WHAT? Minnie.” You gasped. Jihoon laughed a bit as Minnie led you inside. You offered him one more glance before disappearing into the salon. Jihoon watched for a second, hands in his pockets as the both of you were led to the back of the salon. He smiled to himself.
However, all that could sit in the back of his mind was how much the entire party was about to change the minute he stepped into the frame.
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
The weekend had arrived, Mingyu finalizing in the group chat that you would all be taking Mingyu’s plane to Jeju Island, and his father finalizing permission to use the beach house for the weekend. Mingyu, Mina, Hoshi, and Seungkwan agreed to head to the house a day early to set up. While you didn’t like the idea of Mina and Mingyu being in the house an entire day before the both of you, knowing it was Mina who suggested it, you had no way to bring it up without causing a problem.
“She’s probably jealous that you’re the one that is getting his full attention for this party,” Minnie said as both of you waited with Joshua and Jeonghan at the airport for your flight.
“She’s right,” Jeonghan said with a yawn. “Why did we have to wait until nighttime? The planes to Jeju run all day.”
“If we get there Friday night, we have all day Saturday and Sunday,” Joshua explained. “If we get on the next flight we should be there before dinner.” He looked over at you, watching you check your phone. Your brows were furrowed as you tapped constantly on your phone. “Did your friend ever message you back? Are they coming?”
“I don’t know. They said they would. But they seemed a bit hesitant. I gave him the address and the flight times. I hope he’s able to come.”
“If not, we’ll still have fun,” Minnie assured. “And we can just hang out when we’re back.”
“Right.” You agreed. It was then that Mingyu’s family pilot approached the group, signaling you all that the plane was refueled and ready for yet another trip to the island. You scanned the area one more time, but when you didn’t see Jihoon, you simply grabbed your belongings and followed your friends onto the plane.
🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶So Close Yet So Far🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
The hour-and-a-half-long trip over was filled with anxious excitement for the weekend to come. You were staring out the window with Minnie, while Joshua was reading a book and Jeonghan was closing his eyes beside him. You looked over and smiled at Joshua.
“Have you guys ever been to Jeju?” you asked. Joshua’s eyes fluttered up at you, and when he saw your smile, he immediately looked back down at his book.
“Heh.” He chuckled, shaking his head. “Not in a few years.” He said. “It’ll be nice to go back.”
“I only went a few times as a kid.” You said.
“I’ve never been. I’m so excited.” Minnie smiled. “I heard the beaches are beautiful.” You nodded in confirmation. It wasn’t long after that the plane began its descent. Joshua smiled again as he heard both you and Minnie practically squeal in glee, reverting to two children who were about to go see Santa Claus just before Christmas. He simply looked over at his friend, shaking him awake. Groggily, Jeonghan’s eyes fluttered open, his lips smacking to moisten them a bit. He groaned, sitting up straight as a hand went up to rub along his face. When he looked at Joshua, he frowned at his friend's amused chuckle.
“Really?” he asked, but Joshua only looked back down at his book.
Mingyu had a car waiting for you guys as well. He made sure to ‘pull out all the stops’. That was the wording he used when the two of you were on the phone late the previous night, anyway. The car drove from the airport along the beautiful Jeju coast. You wasted no time taking in the beautiful sights through the window once again, admiring the natural architecture. Even as the sun began to set, the glow of the orange-yellow sun spilled along the water and bounced off the mountains in a way that made it an absolutely beautiful sight to behold. Even as the car pulled up to the massive beach house resting just off the shore.
You gasped: “There’s no way his family owns this.” You said.
“Of course, they do!” Minnie said. “I’m not even the least bit shocked.” You stepped out of the car as a collection of workers hurried to the car’s trunk, scrambling to take all of your bags inside. You could see the lights were on, and smoke seemed to be bellowing from the large back deck that overlooked the ocean. You looked over at your friends.
“This is amazing!” You said. “It’s going to be the best weekend, ever!!!”
Joshua and Jeonghan smiled as they watched you and Minnie lead the way to the front door. When you walked in, your eyes scanned the enormous open-concept living room and dining room, disconnected only by a rise in the platform. You looked around as you stepped inside, eyeing what seemed to be the door to the back porch. Only the screen door was closed, so you could immediately hear laughter and music coming from the back. “This is incredible.” You said. When you turned to Joshua and Jeonghan, you saw they simply stroll in, the looks on their faces not nearly as impressed as yours. “Have you ever seen a house so massive?”
“And this is just a beach house!” Minnie added.
“It’s lovely,” Joshua said simply. “A bit smaller than ours, though.” You blinked, staring at Minnie with shocked expressions.
“Why didn’t we go to your house for her birthday, then?” Minnie asked playfully.
“Because she doesn’t like us,” Jeonghan said. You laughed a bit before you and Minnie hurried to examine the kitchen. Joshua looked over at Jeonghan, who simply shrugged. “What? I’m right.”
The commotion at the front of the house seemed to alert the back, as the screen door finally opened. You looked over to see Mingyu and Seungkwan poke their heads in. Mingyu’s face, already holding an enormous smile, got bigger as he hurried inside.
“There you are!” he shouted. “Was the flight safe and everything?”
“Yeah.” You said. “Mingyu this house is amazing!”
“Aha, you think so?” Mingyu’s cheeks tinted a bit pink. He immediately passed the both of you drinks. “I’m almost done cooking. You’re just in time.” When he caught Joshua and Jeonghan stumbling in, he motioned to them too. “Come on.”
You shuffled outside, immediately being hit with the warm smell of meats being grilled on the barbecue. You saw Hoshi and Mina standing over it, drinks in hand as they chatted. When they looked over, Hoshi screamed in excitement at your arrival, hurrying to hug Minnie. When you saw Mina, she hurried up to you, enveloping you in her hug.
“You’re all here! I hope the trip was good!” She smiled. “We couldn’t wait for you to get here! Mingyu and I have been waiting.” The way she emphasized her words made you pursed your lips.
“Okay…” That was all you could respond with. She led you to the grill, which was still steaming. “Mingyu! Hurry and turn this before they burn!” She called. “He’s been cooking for us since we got here. He’s such a good cook. I’m glad I got to learn another new thing about him.” Mingyu hurried between the two of you, reaching out and taking the tongs to flip the meat over. You smiled up at him, and he eagerly returned it.
“Dinner will be ready soon, so settle in and drink up. I have your bags being taken up to your room already.” You nodded, finally opening your drink and taking a sip.
Though a bit short with your arrival, the night was already going off without a hitch. You were all sitting around a fire pit, laughing and drinking as the food finished cooking. Mingyu was sitting next to you, quick to do so when he saw two particularly pesky individuals slide up beside you. You took a sip of your drink, watching as Mingyu got up one last time to check the food.
“I think it’s done.” He said to a sea of applause and cheers. Just as he turned off the grill, one of the house workers hurried to the back door, alerting Mingyu’s attention.
“Sir.” He said. “It seems another guest has arrived.” Mingyu immediately looked at you, seeing your face break out into a big and excited smile. Mingyu nodded.
“Let him in, then.” He said. “He’s just in time for dinner.” As the man nodded his head, heading back to the front with a bow, Mingyu turned to Hoshi. “Hyung, can you go get us an extra plate inside for him?”
“Right-o!” He grinned, standing up and heading inside. You stood up as well, ready to eagerly greet and introduce Jihoon to the rest of the group. You were excited that he would have a few more friends in your circle of very kind individuals.
“Alright. Let’s plate these bad boys up.” Mingyu grinned, beginning to set all of the meat on a plate. The boys hurried over to lend him a hand, holding different plates for Mingyu to organize all of the food on, while you and Minnie sat side by side now, drinking together and watching.
“This is going to be so nice,” Minnie said, looking at you. You nodded in agreement. The feeling of the cool sea breeze in your air, the tickle of the salt water fluttering up to your nose. And the entire weekend with your friends. An entire event is dedicated to you, organized by the one person who was the most important to you. The weekend had just started, and you couldn’t be happier.
The sound of a plate dropping in the kitchen alerted all of you, making your eyes all focus on the door. You felt hands on your shoulders, immediately looking up to see Joshua and Jeonghan at your side, eyes on the door in hopes of seeing what the noise was from. Mingyu stepped forward as well.
The sound of a plate dropping in the kitchen alerted all of you, making your eyes all focus on the door. You felt hands on your shoulders, immediately looking up to see Joshua and Jeonghan at your side, eyes on the door in hopes of seeing what the noise was from.
"Do you sense that?" Joshua whispered. Jeonghan nodded, their hands on your shoulders remaining firm and protective. You were just about to open your mouth and ask for more clarification when Mingyu stepped forward as well. You could immediately tell the sudden noise spooked him, as his eyes were wide in surprise and his cheeks suddenly devoid of color. However, he managed to muster up enough courage to call: “Hoshi-Hyung?”
No response. Seungkwan called: “Soonyoung-Hyung?”
You finally rose from your spot around the fire pit. “Guess I’ll go check since everyone is being so cryptic.” You said, both you and Minnie heading inside, closing the screen door behind you. The men followed suit, poking their heads in to see. You immediately saw Hoshi, standing in the kitchen before a shattered plate, staring at the guest that had just arrived.
Hoshi shook his head as if he couldn’t believe who it was. “Woozi?” he asked, tilting his head. You immediately looked over when you heard that familiar nickname, and a gentle smile graced Jihoon’s face as he nodded.
“Hey, Hoshi.”

Chapter 1:
Tumblr media
Word count: 3006
2nd of April, 1984
The wheels of the bikes scraped and scratched against the dirt path as the three boys swerved through the forest in a heated race. Frank, the tallest, who had messy long black hair and a stronger build than the other two, was in the lead, having had a head start from the others by screaming ‘RACE!’ and taking off before they could process what he had said. Jack, the youngest, with short jet black hair and his blue vest wrapped around his waist, allowing his oversized shirt to fly in the wind, was right behind him. He sported a determined look on his face as he approached his older friend, about to take him over. Frank however, seemed more pleased to see him approaching so fast, which confused Jack for just a second before they arrived at a sharp turn.
Jack yelped out as he drifted to break before he could enter the wrong path, making have to fully stop and watch as Frank turned back to stick his tongue out and let John, the shortest one, who’s big brown curls were flowing in the wind, take his place as second. He gave him an amused and playful smile as he passed, making any negative feelings Jack could have had about his predicament leave.
Frank turned back and watched as John was approaching, just about to pass him and take first place. He turned back forward, about to accelerate to try to lose him, only for his eyes to widen as he suddenly pulled on his brakes, almost falling off his bike as a result, although being lucky and skillful enough to drift and stop himself. John, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky, he let out a surprised noise and tried doing the same, braking right behind Frank, but without being able to stop himself in time, he lost control of his bike as he swerved to the side, falling and tumbling to the ground.
“Ow…” The boy groaned as he sat himself back up, looking down at the lollipop he had spat out in the ordeal. Well, he thought, at least he didn’t swallow or choke on it.
“What was that?!” John snapped his head towards Frank, who appeared to be just as in shock at what he did then John was.
“Sorry!” Frank seemed genuinely apologetic, almost stumbling off of his bike as he put his hand up.
“What happened?” Jack asked, having just caught up to them, stopping next to Frank and looking at the two worriedly as John dusted himself off. He picked up his now ruined lollipop, pulling out the paper from his jeans pocket and wrapping it around it, he was probably not going to finish that.
“I don’t know!” John tucked the lollipop in a side pocket of his backpack, to throw it out for later. “Frank just stopped right in front of me!” John gestured angrily towards his friend, frustrated when he noticed that his jeans now had a hole around his knee, which was scrapped as well.
“I told you I’m sorry!” John grumbled at his apology, approaching his discarded bike and inspecting it, glad to see it hadn’t suffered too much damage aside from a spot where the paint had been scrapped off. Frank frowned at his friend’s apparent irritation and pointed his own frustrated finger at the ground. “I was trying to avoid hitting that bird!”
Jack moved his glance towards the spot, followed by John’s angry glare, which turned into one of confusion. There, standing absolutely still in the middle of the dirt path, was a crow, looking completely undisturbed by the accident that had just happened and staying still.
“... Huh.” John approached the other two boys, joining their side and looking down at the black bird.
“... It didn’t move.”
“Do you think it’s injured?”
“Nah, it’s standing just fine.” Frank joined along with their speculations
“Looks like a statue.”
“Well, it’s breathing.” Jack had knelt down in front of the bird, making vague gestures that would have made any other bird fly away, this one stayed completely still.
“Do you think it’s like- blind?”
“Blind and deaf?” Frank questioned with a deadpan look.
“Well, you never know!” John argued back.
“It’s true that its eyes are weird…” Jack added, almost like he was talking to himself. The two boys went down next to Jack and tilted their heads to get a better look at the bird’s face. Its eyes seemed faded and misty, glossed over, they almost looked like a blurry picture of the night sky.
John hummed, stared for a few seconds, before standing back up and turning his head away, looking for any reasonable place that the crow could have come from. Aside from a nest right above it, where two baby birds chirped away for their mother, he found nothing. The three boys stayed silent for a few more seconds, until Frank seemed to be getting bored of this.
“Or…” The other two looked at him as he stood back up. “It’s just a weird crow.” Frank said as a matter of fact, before mounting back on his bike and getting ready to leave. “Let’s just go and leave it alone.”
There was silence between the two, Jack still looking at it before turning back and standing up as well. “Yeah.. You’re probably right.” He agreed, standing back up as well and getting his own bike ready and giving John a head gesture. “Come on, John.” A reassuring smile was thrown his way as he mounted it. John sighed.
“Yeah, okay.” He climbed back on his bike and the trio was off, the race was forgotten, although Frank had silently decided that he was the winner. John gave the bird one last glance before they turned the corner, it had not moved.
The three boys went home, and the bird was all but forgotten about.

3rd of April, 1984
“Frank, come oooon.” John whined impatiently, bouncing on his feet. They were waiting in front of their school, bikes at the ready, the day had ended about ten minutes ago, and John was eager to leave. Frank, however, was still talking to Lila.
''Calm down dude, just five more minutes.'' He gave John a quick glance, barely looking at him before turning back to Lila and continuing their conversation.
John groaned as he rocked his bike back and forth, tapping his foot on the ground, his eyes wandering around, clearly not enjoying having to wait any longer. ''You said that five minutes ago! Even Jack's getting impatient!''
''Huh?-'' Jack had in fact, not been getting impatient, on the contrary, he was perfectly content waiting for Frank as he watched a butterfly rest on one of the flowers against the school's gate. Frank rolled his eyes and Lila gave him an awkward chuckle.
''If you're all in a rush then I'll leave you to it, we can talk tomorrow! Either way, I should probably go as well.'' She gave Frank a smile and a wave. He seemed a bit disappointed but he smiled and waved back at her as Lila left to join her friend, Jaune, who was waiting for her a bit further away. Lila and Jaune were part of the group who left by foot, a bit after Narciso did, in the same general direction as him, Icarus as well, going in the same direction that John and his friends would take today. Many simply went on the bus, but some stayed behind, to play, like Ray and Bastien, or to wait for their parents, like Richard, Dexter or Carmen.
John, Jack and Frank were part of the few who'd come with their bikes if they could, leaving in the same way. Although they were supposed to have a set path, after so long, Frank ended up suggesting they take a detour through a path in the woods. It was definitely longer, but it was much more enjoyable for them. The woods were especially enjoyable during spring and autumn, and their new path allowed them to pass by the fields, crops and animals, which they would sometimes feed.
Frank let out an annoyed groan as he mounted his bike, joining his two friends and avoiding eye contact with John, which only resulted in John giving him an amused smirk. The brown haired boy shared a glance and a chuckle with Jack before they were off. John was in the lead this time, although they were far from racing, it was their usual stroll back home today, aside from the fact that, besides some snickering between Jack and John, it was quiet. Jack, being on the same level as Frank, would turn his gaze towards him with a big dumb smile, Frank tried ignoring it, wanting to give the impression that he was angry at the two, but his frown faltered when he would side eye Jack and see his grin.
Eventually, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling and letting out a snort. “What??” He pressed on, lightheartedly, making Jack giggle.
“Do you like her?”
“Huh?”
“Lila, do you like her?”
“Well yeah, she’s nice to me, she’s a good friend.”
John couldn’t help but repress a laugh with Jack, earring an undignified and confused look from Frank towards the two.
“No, doofus. Do you like like her?”
It took a few seconds, but it was like a lightbulb had suddenly turned on in Frank’s head as he realized what Jack was talking about. Turning to give him a glare, he removed his hand from the handlebar to give him a punch in the shoulder, Jack responding with an ‘ow!’ between his giggling.
“No I don’t! I told you, she’s nice! That’s it!”
“Yeah, okay, definitely just nice.”
“She’s just a friend, quit it!” Frank tried to go for another hit, which Jack dodged.
“Just a friend? At this rate you’re gonna spend more time with her than us!”
“What?! That’s not even true! We-... John?”
The friendly banter between the two boys came to an end as they stopped their bikes. In between them, John had stopped as well without a word, looking down at the ground, his expression showing a mix of shock, lots of confusion and a tinge of anxiety. His friends followed his gaze and they joined him in his confusion when their eyes landed on the spot he was fixing.
The same crow from yesterday.
In the same spot.
In the same pose.
It hadn't moved for an entire day.
The three boys stayed quiet as they stared at the animal, each trying to make sense of this scene in their head.
“Uhm… Maybe it’s a different bird?-” Jack proposed, without even really believing his own theory, immediately getting shut down by the other two throwing him a glance.
''It stayed here all night?'' John asked his friends as if they would have actually been able to answer him. Frank hummed as a response, looking down at him and seemingly thinking.
''Yeah, really weird crow… Alright, let's go.'' Frank started pedaling again, going around it and paying it no mind. John didn't follow him, looking at Frank in disbelief while he vaguely gestured towards the bird.
''You're not weird out by that?? I mean- crows don't do that- right Jack?'' He turned towards his taller friend, who was still next to him and observing the two.
''Uh-'' Jack blinked a few times, not having anticipated getting put into the conversation. ''Yea no they don't do that but…''
''It's just a bird, John.'' Frank had shrugged at John's question as he waited ahead for the two. Jack nodded, glad that Frank had filled out the end of his thoughts for him. ''Maybe it has some sort of brain damage or something. I dunno, let's just go.''
Jack hummed, seemingly agreeing with Frank as he joined him forward, leaving John as the last one who hadn't moved yet. He stayed frowning down at the bird a little longer, as if it would eventually let out its secret if John stared hard enough, the crow did not move.
''Weren't you in a hurry? Or should we wait five more minutes?'' Frank said teasingly, which finally earned a reaction from John, who looked up with an offended smile.
''You-!'' The boys chuckled as John started quickly making his way back to them, causing Jack and Frank to take a head start.
The crow was forgotten about as the boys left in a haste, pretending to be in a cops chase.
It stood in its spot, unmoving, staring straight forward.

It was uncanny how blue the sky was, only disturbed by two lone clouds slowly drifting through it, although now wind could be felt or heard. John had been walking for an undefined amount of time, kicking a pebble through the dirt path as he did. He was surrounded by a wheat field, John couldn’t make out if it even had an end, and it didn’t bother him, being in a dream, he didn’t question the illogicality of this place. John paused however, as he had kicked his pebble too far to the right, it hit something, making a small sound that made John look up and take in his surroundings. The field was still the same as before, however, to his left, he could see a crooked tree breaking the repeating pattern of the crops, and to his right, there was the thing that hit his pebble, what looked like a concrete block stood there, looking old and disheveled, as if no one had came to bother cleaning it in years now.
John blinked once before approaching it, he observed for the dirt path, as the shed was a good three meters into the field. The crops being almost his seize, he refrained for now to approach it. He looked at the door of the block, who appeared to be a lot more taken care of than the shed, almost as if they did not fit together. The doorknob was a golden color, a teal glint shining on it.
John squinted his eyes, trying to make out what was making that shining light. Unconsciously, trying to get a closer look, he took a step forward, stepping in the field. The wheat rippled at his touch as if it were water. John inhaled sharply as his eyes opened back up, from the bright field to the darkness of his room. He wasn’t sure what woke him up, he had felt something like an odd wave go through his body and he could see a small blue tint over his vision that quickly went away.
He groaned as he felt a headache come on and turned around in his bed, guessing the light came from his window and tried to avoid it in the future. He pulled the covers over his head and almost immediately went back to sleep, his half asleep mind way too woozy to even begin thinking about this night, The rude awakening would be forgotten about in the morning.

4th of April, 1984
“It’s gone.”
It was another day, and just like the previous days, they went through the same path through the woods, and eventually, the three boys stumbled back into the spot where the crow had stayed for the past few days, only now it was empty. John stared, growing at the ground, while Frank just gave it a hum and a shrug before riding past it.
“See? T’was nothing to worry over, just a weird bird, probably got caught by a fox or something.” Frank looked behind, trying to get John to move and get going.
“But there’s no trace of a fight though…” John mumbled, almost to himself as he scanned the ground around him, the dirt hadn’t been disturbed, there was no sign of any fox or predators having passed through, there wasn’t even any sign the crow had ever been there.
“John, it’s fine, don’t stress over it.” Jack had slowed down next to him to give him a few pats on the shoulder and a smile as he passed him as well, John didn’t move.
“Yeah! Probably just flew away, y’know, like birds do?” Frank gave John a cocky tone as he tilted his head forehead, shaking it, almost like he was calling John an idiot. Jack chuckled as he passed him.
That made John look up, a frown on his face, but he wasn’t angry, maybe a bit irritated sure, but he was smiling playfully. He knew his friend wouldn’t actually insult them, and little bickering like that between these two specifically was a daily occurrence. “Are you making fun of me!”
“Nah!...” Frank shrugged, turning his head away with an exaggerated dumb look. “Maybe, but that doesn’t matter!” John gave Frank an offended look, which made Frank put up his hands defensively.
“Hey come on, look. Some birds are weird, okay? It’s gone now, don’t sweat over it.”
John hummed, his smile faltering a bit as he looked back down. It really looked as if the bird had simply never even been there in the first place. He frowned, maybe they were right, no, they were definitely right. John was making a mountain out of a molehill. Of course there was nothing to worry about, nature was unpredictable, he shouldn’t try to make sense of something that had so little impact on his life either way. A random crow on a dirt path? He saw birds everyday, it didn't matter.
“Yeah, Okay.” He paddled back towards his friends, the event staying in the back of his mind as they left, but he was sure he would move on from it soon enough, it was nothing to worry about. The three boys turned around the corner and continued on with their day.
Unbeknownst to them, one of the two baby birds living in the nest about the path was left alone as it chirped for its mother.

Let Me Take Your Pain Away (Pt. 2)
Missions don’t always go as planned, they rarely do, actually. Thing is, when they don’t, someone might pay the price with their lifes.
But they won’t let that be Mikey’s case.
Based on @cokowiii’s ‘Just Another Day AU’
Part 1 here
Part 3 here
Around them was nothing but debris, and -despite the giant hole in the ceiling- every path led to darkness.
–  “Donnie, what do we know about this place?” – asked Leo over the comms  as he turned on a flashlight to search for marks in the dust (even if Mikey might just have flown through). Cali can barely hear him over the sound of his own running heart.
– “Hardly anything, we didn’t get to talk much.” – Donnie’s words echoed through the walls. – “Mikey thought someone immolated themselves, perhaps with a grenade, hence the explosion. Additionally, as far as I know, no one is living there anymore.” - Leo stepped forward, one hand with the flashlight and in the other one a sword. Cali followed, struggling to match the others fast pace, as cement and metal sank into his feet, with something sticky gluing into his skin.
- “Anymore?” – Cali is reminded of the sewers he he used to live at. Above them were rusted pipes and, to their sides, stained walls grew tall with paint peeling off of them. Who knows how big this place is, it seems to stretch infinitely.
From behind Leo the light isn’t enough to see the chain in his hand. It doesn’t matter, he can still feel the cold biting his hand. Mikey might be anywhere in the building, if he’s even there at all.
Leo stopped abruptly, the light that guides them unfocused. Cali followed his gaze into a stain in the floor: big, greyish dark red and probably dried blood.
In the room in front of them they found the source of the blood. The doctor couldn’t help the sigh of relief that escape them. There were two decomposing bodies surrounded by ripped, dismantled, and stained furniture, but neither one was Mikey.
“Wait.” – Cali stopped Leo from going back, despite the room being a dead end. He snatched the flashlight from the other’s unsteady hands to examine the bodies closely. He could still make out claw and teeth marks on them. No krang dog could have taken Mikey down, though. What caught his attention was the bag beside them. It was Mikey’s, it has the butterflies he embroidered for him.
– “Let’s go, Cali. He’s not here.”
– “Leo.” – Donnie’s frantic voice brought him back to reality  – “I found him. You two need to come now.” – Leo immediately grabbed him like a sack of potatoes and sprinted towards his brothers.
Cali was dizzy with all the sudden movements. After what felt like an eternity, they got close enough for them to see the other turtles. However, he couldn’t feel relief at the sight, just utter dread. Lying there was the love of his life. He started calling him as Leo ran even faster  – “Mikey!” – And then they both stopped, unwillingly floating just above the ground.
– “Mikey, what are you doing. Stop it.” – pleaded Leo. Then, he changed the approach – “Donnie.” – The magic around them felt unsteady and fragile, when Mikey’s powers are all but that.
His eyes stinged and he can’t tell what Donnie is doing, but seconds later the energy around them dissipates. Before they hit the ground they are back on track. When they arrive Cali unlocks Leo’s grasp on him to collapse beside Mikey.
– “Angelo.”- No response, the youngest briefly opened his eyes when he pinched his arm, though. He isn’t answering his questions or obeying orders. He’s making intelligible sounds, which better than nothing. However, the important thing is that he’s breathing, fast and shallow, but breathing; and his heart is still beating. That’s enough, that’s all he needs.
He tells Leo to open the airway and immobilize his neck. Between the three they turn Mikey so that he is facing upwards. Donnie monitors his vital signs.
There’s blood on his mouth and out of both ears, plus, the inferior part of his shell is fractured, there’re thin golden cracks in his fingers, his leg is disfigured, and his feet have burns.
Cali pats him down, without finding anymore sources of blood.
It’s okay. He’s here now, he can heal him. Everything will be fine.
Except he can’t heal everything; he isn’t even sure of what needs healing. Donnie can’t tell him either- Whatever, head and abdomen first, then thorax, and finally his left leg and shell. That’ll do for now. He can do this. He has to.
He grabs Mikey’s hand, colder than his own, and with matching loose chains. Pink fog swirls out of Calimari, embracing Mikey.
A tiny, pale light ignites, mixing with the fog.
“It’s okay,” – answers Cali – “I’ll take it and you’ll be alright. No, it doesn’t hurt. That’s what I’m here for.” - Cali doesn’t tear his eyes from Mikey, until he simply can’t see anymore. His running heart steadies in his chest as his vision goes black and his body limp.

Finally got Iris’ official design, colors and all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Backstory:
Iris is the youngest daughter of 13 royal children, and considered the least favorite of the king, despite her appearance looking very similar to her grandmother, who was the high priestess of a water goddess who created the sirens and mermaids!
While not actively neglected by her family, it was clear she wasn’t a favorite of the family due to her being considered the “unlucky” youngest daughter, with 13 being considered an unlucky number. Many thought she would pass away young due to illnesses, but with the help of her mother and some of her older brothers, she always recovered.
After some time, once she hits 17, her father starts lining up suitors for her. She never wanted to be in an arranged marriage, especially when her older sister Irene was never obligated to marry to have a shot at having the throne once she reached of age and her father was too old to keep ruling.
Then again, Irene was her father’s favorite. She could behead all the other siblings and he’d still find a way to defend her, especially if their mom wasn’t around.
Once it was found out Iris was arranged to be be wed by some random old noble, she really had no choice but to run off. She was tired of the neglect and favoritism of her older sister, as Irene was considered a blessing, but Iris was a mistake..? She had enough, and with the help of her mother and two of her older sisters, she was able to get out of the palace and the whole kingdom without getting caught by anyone.
However, that didn’t mean she left without saying goodbye to her people. She bought lots of food from the shops who were still open late at night, stopped by the bookstore one last time and bought one of her favorite stories, sirenella and the crystal slippers, she even went by the florist and bought some flowers for her grandmother’s grave at the edge of the kingdom.
After paying her respects, she then went to the temple of the water goddess and prayed for a safe passage and to find new life in the over world. Then she went on with her journey to the overworld. It was a while before she found land, but once she did? She just sat there, watching the moon before she broke down into tears. She was free, but at what cost? Losing her family as she once knew it..? Knowing she might never be able to return home, even after her father’s death..? Never being able to see her mom ever again..?
Well, after some time, she was found by someone. She was an older lady, 45-50 years old, who happened to be the owner of a popular casino. After hearing her story, the two made a deal. If she could use her siren-like abilities to draw in more customers, then she’d help her find a place to stay until she could afford to stay on her own two feet.
After helping her get a dress for her first performance, Iris remembers of a song that she heard while on her travels. Siren media was closed off to the world at the time being, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t bring it to the over-world and allow others to hear the amazing music that sirens were able to create.
Ironically, this is the same Casino seelkadoom works at on night shifts. However, he was off the day of her first performance, so they didn’t meet until a few days later. In the meantime, she was an overnight sensation, and people and mobians alike were paying good money for front row seats for her next show the next night.
Tumblr media
And the story just kind of goes on from there! ^^ I’ll try to post more content of Iris and the others together and post a facts post soon, hope you like it! <3

Operation Demogorgon
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x fem!reader
Summary; Eddie Munson might just be slightly obsessed with Y/n L/n...Slightly, as in, he practically stalks you. But in his defense, it started out in your best interest, because you were on Vecna's list.
Warnings; obsessive behavior, obsessive!eddie, pervert!eddie, stalking, stakeout, spying
PART ONE | PART TWO
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson was infatuated with Y/n L/n.
You were all he talked about. In fact, he mentioned you so much, that his friends were starting to think he was obsessed with you.
And he very well was.
Eddie had your weekly schedule memorized. Mondays, you would take her morning walk with your golden retriever, then later that day at 4pm, you would start your shift at the town's arcade. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays you were off of work, but still took your morning walks. Fridays and Saturdays were your busiest days of the week, as your shift at the arcade went from 10am to 9pm on those days. Those days, you took your walks at night after her shift. Sundays were free days as well, and you could be found doing a variety of things with your days off, such as going to the movies or babysitting the Wheelers' youngest daughter, Holly, for extra cash.
Of course, Eddie only knew this all because he practically stalked you.
"Its not stalking." Eddie would say everytime he was accused of it. "Its just observing."
"Yeah," Steve Harrington would respond with a raised eyebrow. "Observing constantly. From alleyways. And crowds. And the park across from her house."
"Very close observing, then."
"Dude, she called the cops on you once."
"Yeah, but only once."
"Munson, you're about one 'coincidental meeting' away from a restraining order."
"Pretty sure she was joking when she threatened that."
"Pretty sure she wasn't."
So yes, Eddie Munson was very obsessed with Y/n L/n.
It had all started out rationally, though.
In 1986, about two months after the "mysterious murders" that took place in Hawkins that year, Max Mayfield expressed her worries to her friends about how she feared an old enemy might be up to no good again, and that you were at the top of his hit list.
Naturally, everyone decided to do everything they could from preventing the horrifying death that would befall you if Max's intuition was true.
They'd started by setting up a watch schedule. Each night a week, you would unknowingly have someone watching your window from across the park across the street from your house. When they decided that wasn't very effective, Will Byers took it upon himself to be useful and applied for a job at the arcade where you worked. It only took about two months for you and Will to build a solid friendship. This was an advancement in your protection, because you just so happened to unintentionally use Will as your therapist. So Will Byers knew all the drama, and all the trauma.
It was around this time that Eddie Munson realized how pretty you were. He'd started volunteering to watch you on the nights he was supposed to be off duty, and he'd started the beginnings of memorizing your weekly schedule.
But after about a year of these attempts in making sure you weren't on Vecnas list of possible murder victims, nothing had changed, and nothing seemed like it was going to change anytime soon.
So, reluctantly, they all agreed to call off the night watches. Eddie however, insisted to himself that they should continue, and so for him, continue they did. This was how he caught several glimpses of you in nothing more than a bra and your pajama pants through his binoculars about three times. This was where the others accusations of Eddie being a stalker originated.
"Its just creepy," Said Billy Hargrove once after the subject had been brought up. "Really creepy. Even I'm not that much of a pervert."
"Billy, you tried to hook up with Mike's mom once," Max had replied to that with crossed arms.
"Its not his fault. He tries to hook up with everyone." Dustin Henderson shrugged.
Mike Wheeler had sat between the three of them with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. "Wait, when did he try to hook up with my mom?!"
So, again, after almost two years, Eddie's infatuation with you had become just slightly more obsessive than he'd intended.
Nancy Wheeler, who was continuously creeped out and annoyed by Eddie's behavior, had urged him multiple times to pluck up the courage to actually ask you out on a date.
"Oh, that's not gonna end well." Will Byers said simply one of the times Nancy brought the suggestion up. "Y/n thinks he's an absolute sycophant. A pervert, really."
Eddie's shoulder's had fallen. "Great."
"You really shouldn't take it personally, Eddie." Will immediately told him. "She doesn't like most people."
"She likes you." Eddie stated, matter of factly.
"Yeah, because I don't stalk her."
Nancy sighed deeply. "Will, I'm sorry, but you really are not helping right now." The younger boy rolled his eyes. "Eddie, watching her all the time isn't going to change anything."
Eddie sighed, and crossed his arms. "Okay, so say I managed to get within ten feet of her. What do I say then? 'Hey, Y/n, sorry I practically stalk you and creep you out. Wanna go out sometime?' "
"Well don't say it like that." Nancy told him. "You could try just casually bringing it up?" She suggested.
Steve scoffed from the other side of the room, where he and Dustin sat together, listening in on the conversation. "It doesn't matter who he does it, she's gonna reject him. He stalks her."
"Yeah, but she doesn't know why." Dustin stated.
Steve glanced over at him, raising an eyebrow. "So? He still stalking her. Chicks don't dig that stuff."
"Well, I'm just saying, if she knew it was for her own protection maybe she wouldn't be so creeped out by him. She'd maybe even like him more, she'd think he's been protecting her all this time."
At Dustin's words, Eddie's head shot up and his eyes widened. He looked to Dustin, who turned to him as well. Both of their faces lit up, as if silently plotting together.
Steve glanced back and forth between the two of them and few times before finally realizing what they were doing. "Wait- no. No. Nope. We are - you are not doing this." Steve said sternly. "We shot that plan down a long time ago!"
"Well...technically we put it in the drafts." Eddie said to Steve. He smirked slightly. "Never in the trash."
"What, no-"
"We're doing this."
Dustin was grinning, and nodded to himself. "Hell yeah." He and Eddie shared a look of excitement. "Operation Demogorgon is a go."
Tumblr media
Friday came quicker than Y/n L/n would have liked.
At nine in the morning, you came grumpily walking out of your car to the arcade, sporting the hideous blue shirt you were forced to wear due to company policy. You did your usual routine of waving at Robin Buckley through the window of the Family Video store just next door, and then pushed your way through the crowd of kids already waiting to get into the arcade for the morning.
What you didn't know was that Eddie Munson and Dustin Henderson were currently watching your every move through pairs of binoculars.
The two of them were in a flowerbed across the parking lot, both of them laying on their stomachs army style and were hiding behind bushes of flowers, peering through them with binoculars.
Eddie sighed, almost sounding irritated. "Why does she have to walk like that?" He asked quietly.
Dustin glanced over at him. "Walk like what?"
"Like she's a goddamn model." Eddie said. "She seriously just struts everywhere, it's insane."
"I don't know, but damn...that ass."
"Right?"
"And you guys wonder why she thinks you're a creep."
Eddie and Dustin turned their heads and looked up, seeing Steve standing behind them with a tired looking expression. Will also accompanied him. Since Steve worked with Robin at the video store next to the Arcade - and he was basically the mom of the group - he would drive Will to and from work when he had shifts.
That morning, the younger boy didn't look his best. His face was slack, and there was noticable dark circles under his eyes. It seemed as though he hadn't gotten much sleep that night before.
Will stared down at his friend and Eddie with a blatant expression. "Why are you on the ground?" He asked.
Dustin turned over to properly face his other friends. "We're trying to be unseen here." He said with a 'duh' tone of voice. "You guys standing here talking to us is gonna blow our cover!" He furrowed his eyebrows, seeing Will's unusually ruffled state. "Are you okay? You look like you have a hangover.
"I didn't know spying on her was part of the plan." Will said quickly, ignoring Dustin's question purposefully.
Eddie sighed as he got to his feet. "Let's get this over with, Byers."
Steve departed from them, muttering to himself about how this plan of their's was going to backfire on them as he walked toward Family Video.
"Alright." Dustin stood up and brushed the dirt off of him. "Operation Demogorgon is now in motion. Let's roll."
Tumblr media
Out of all the jobs you'd worked at, working at the Arcade to have been the most boring one yet. The most the job entailed was arguing with a couple of middle schoolers about how much tokens cost.
Sitting at the counter, you usually sat by yourself and read a book. This particular time, you entertained your boredom with The Hobbit, which you'd read a hundred times before just because you found Bilbo's character so relatable. The only problem with reading in the Arcade was that you became easily distracted by the sound of the door opening. So when you heard the swish of wind from someone entering the building, you looked up from your book to see who it was.
"Henderson, hey!" You greeted with a smile as Dustin walked up to the counter. You closed your book. "What are you doing here?"
"Um, I was with Will, actually." Dustin said, shuffling his feet. "He came in through the back. He told me to come in and tell you that he needed help carrying something."
You furrowed your eyebrows. "Carrying what?"
Dustin shrugged. "Uh, I- I don't know." He said.
You sighed and stood up. "Let me go see." You muttered.
You walked out from behind the counter and towards the backroom. You didn't notice Dustin snatch the key to the backroom off the hook behind the counter and follow you.
As you opened the door and stepped inside the cluttered room, you paused. It was easy to say you hadn't been expecting to find Eddie Munson leaning against an out of order Dragon Slayer game.
As soon as he saw you walk in, Eddie stood up straight and watched you awkwardly. You stared at him, half in shock, half in anger.
"Uh...hey." Eddie said, smiling nervously.
You said nothing, and quickly turned around towards the door, only to find Will standing there with his hand on the doorknob.
"Sorry, Y/n." He said glumly. "I don't react to peer pressure very well. Please don't hate me." With that, he closed the door, took the key from Dustin, and locked you inside.
You cursed to yourself, and grabbed the doorknob, jerking on it aggressively to try to get it to open. Your face was red with anger by now.
"Will! Henderson! Open the damn door!"
There was a faint "No!" from Dustin before you you sighed aggressively and let ho of the handle. Reluctantly, you turned to face Eddie, who stared at you like he was regretting his life's decisions.
"Alright, was is this?" You questioned, and then scoffed. "You know you've got a lot of nerve trying this, Munson. You creep."
Eddie gave his own sigh. "Yeah, well, what if I told you I'm trying to explain why I'm such a creep?"
You narrowed your eyes. "I'd say its gonna be some jackshit excuse."
Eddie leaned back against the broken Dragon Slayer. "It is an excuse, and it is jackshit, but its valid." You gave him an unconvinced expression. "Please, Y/n. Just hear me out.
You stared at the boy in front of you for a moment before sighing and sitting down in a discarded chair against the wall. "Fine." You crossed your arms. "But the rush hour is at eleven, so try and make this quick."
Eddie nodded, crossing his own arms. "Okay. So, a lot of this is gonna sound made up, but I promise you, every word I'm about to say is true."
You raised an eyebrow. "Go on."
"Well...I guess it started back in 1983, when Will went missing."
"When he got lost in the woods?"
Eddie gave a silent laugh. "Yeah...only, he didn't get lost in the woods."
You furrowed your eyebrows and leaned up off the back of your seat, intrigued. "Then what happened to him?"
Eddie paused a moment to process what he was about to say. "Will was taken."
Your eyes widened. "By who?"
"Not by who. By what."
Tumblr media
You didn't really know what to think about it all when Eddie was done speaking. After a moment of silence, you couldn't help but smirk at the boy slightly. A guttural laugh built up in the back of your throat.
"So, Munson," You started, pressing your hands together as you pretended to think. "You're telling me, that there is an alternate dimension of Hawkins beneath us full of monsters, the most powerful of which is planning by untimely, gruesome murder." You raised an eyebrow. "Did I get that right?"
"Yep." Said Eddie, exhaling.
Your smirk grew. "Wow...So, where's the camera? Is Harrington filming this?"
"Wait, what?" Eddie gave you a look of disbelief as he uncrossed his arms. "You think I'm making this up?"
"Well, duh."
From where they stood behind the door either their ears pressed against it, listening in, Will and Dustin exchanged nervous glances.
"Why would I come up with such an elaborate story just to prank you?" Eddie questioned, sounding bothered he wasn't believed.
"I don't know, dude. You play Dungeons and Dragons. I don't question anything you weirdoes do in those brains of yours." You scoffed. Eddie looked utterly defeated. Ticking your eyebrows, you stood up from the chair and checked your watch. "Well, this has been fun Munson, but I've got ten minutes until rush hour, so I'd better be off. I liked your story though, you should turn it into a book." You walked up to the door and banged your fist on it. "Alright, open up, dipshits! We're all done in here."
There was a muffled shuffle, and soon you heard the key turning in the lock. It was opened by Dustin, and you came walking out, sending him and Will a look that said "screw you guys".
"You're on token duty next week, Byers." You snarked as you walked away.
Will groaned. "Shit."
Then him and Dustin turned to Eddie, who was still in the room, only now he looked almost devastated that you didn't believe him. "I think I fucked it up even more." He grumbled.
"Probably." Dustin said.
Eddie sighed, standing up straight. "Well, what else was I supposed to do, Henderson? I told her the truth, she didn't believe me."
"Well, it was a long shot.
"It was your idea, Henderson!"
Dustin rolled his eyes. "Will, why aren't you defending me in this?!" He turned to his friend and then his face fell almost immediately. "Will?"
The other boy was standing almost completely still, besides his head, witch twitched every few seconds. His eyes were glossed over and seemed to be fighting the urge to roll into the back of his head and were fluttering madly.
Eddie's eyes widened as Dustin grabbed his friend's shoulders and started shaking him. "Will? Will, what's happening? Will?! Shit!"
"Its just like Chrissy." Eddie whispered, inching closer.
Dustin looked back at him, fear engraved in his face. "When she-?"
"Yeah."
Dustin looked back at his seizing friend worriedly. "That doesn't make any sense! Will would've told us if he was having visions!"
Then he paused. He though back to their eight grade year, after Will had returned from the Upsidedown, when the Mind-Flayer had control over him. He would do this same thing. But this hadn't happened for years.
Dustin's face paled. "No...this isn't Vecna." He muttered. "This is something else. I've this happen to him before." He looked back at Eddie. "When Will was under the Mind-Flayer's control, he would ho into these trance-like states, just like this. The Mind-Flayer would show him visions of the Upsidedown. This has got to be what it is."
Eddie stared at him. "So how do we stop it?!"
"I don't know."
Before either of them could go into their rightful state of panic, they were interrupted by a loud gasp and a crash. They turned back to Will and found that he had come out of his trance and had collapsed to the floor.
"Oh, Jesus," Eddie muttered as he and Dustin kneeled down in front of Will.
"Will!" Dustin put his hand back on his friend's shaking shoulder. The other boy looked absolutely haunted. It scared Dustin. "Will, what happened? Was it the Mind-Flayer?!"
Will slowly looked up at Dustin. He shook his head. "No..." he took a shakey inhale. "It was him. Vecna."
The other two's eyes widened more.
"Will, what happened?" Eddie said quickly. "What did you see!?"
Will's hand covered his mouth as he sat on the floor, shaking with the after-feeling of relieving his vision-having. He looked up at Eddie, and whispered.
"It's Y/n. She's next.

🥀 Subayui fanfic 🥀
Tumblr media
Pairing: Subaru🗡️ and Yui🌸
Author: Admin Ava
Genre: Funny, Sweet themes, Happy ending
Chapter: 2
Tumblr media
🥀 Gothic Soirée 🥀
“What the hell?!’’ Subaru looked at Kou’s face as if he was just accused of murder. Honestly who was Kou to ask him about his love life? He had only just heard about this stupid dance and now he was getting interrogated! Or at least that’s how he felt. Subaru folded his arms and ignored Kou's question,” I don’t fucking know. Why do I have to go with anyone in the first place?! Also, why do YOU want to know anyway?”
Kou snickered while he circled Subaru. The smile on his face made Subaru's fist clench. He always did think that the wannabe idol had a very punchable face. “Duh isn’t it obvious? Everyone and their mothers know that you wanna ask M-Neko-Chan to go with you, but you are too embarrassed to do it.’’ Kou landed a critical hit on Subaru's emotions. Just how was he able to decipher the youngest vampire feeling every single time?
Subaru grabbed Kou by the collar and lifted him off the ground.”I don’t know what the hell your deal is but I’m not going to be caught at some stupid dance full of rich wash bastards who only care about their social image. And I’m not going to ask her if she wants to go with me! So fuck off!’’ Subaru dropped Kou to the floor and then storm off to find a place to let out his frustration.
Kou looked as his best friend walked off. Picking himself off the ground and brushing the dirt off, he couldn’t help but sigh. However, his sigh turned into a cat-like grin as he walked in the other direction.” Oh, Subaru. You would think you would’ve learned by now. If you hide your emotions, you’ll end up hurting yourself more.’’
Subaru headed toward the roof and lay down on the bench. The sky was dark, no stars in sight. Even the moon wasn’t clear from where he was looking. Aimlessly looking at the blank sky gives a man time to think. Think about what kou had said . Well, to think about his hidden feelings. Unlike his other brothers, Subaru wasn’t the greatest at expressing himself in an obvious way like Kanato or Ayato did. He hadn’t come to terms with his emotions and could keep them under checks like Shu and Reiji. And he didn’t know how to cleverly hide them but still look happy like Laito did.
He always felt like the odd one out in the family. Like as if everyone but him had distinct personalities. While he was there for filler. Everyone had their talents; Shu was a prodigy in the musical arts, and Reiji was a genius that was able to uplift his social standing with the way he spoke and act, despite Ayato's ego, he was good at sports and had this overwhelming sense of self-confidence that’s Subaru was a bit envious of. Laito was a sick pervert but the way he talked to others and how he could act so human never ceased to amaze him. Even if he twisted his words to get what he wanted. Kanato was a brat who always whine if he didn’t get what he wanted but Subaru could never forget how his voice brought him so much solace during those hard days and his childhood. As he thought of how different his brothers are. He failed to see what was good about him.
He wasn’t into music like Shu and Kanato. He could sing but had no passion for it. He didn’t pay attention in school nor was he into sciences and ethics like Reiji was. He was strong and often worked out but had no talent for sports like Ayato. Subaru had never been comfortable around others, often snapping at those who tried to talk to him. Or in the worst-case scenario, he would completely beat the shit out of them until they begged for their lives. So he wasn’t as sociable as Latio. Then who was he? He had no talent, and no hobbies and his only defying personality traits were being angry all the time and sleeping in his coffin.
Out of all of his brothers, he was the most excluded, the most forgotten, and the most disgusting. That’s what he’s told himself for years. Until a sweet blonde hair girl came into his life.
Subaru felt his cheeks become red again, but it wasn’t as unpleasant as the first time. Yui was supposed to be another sacrificial bride like those before her. She either would die, go crazy, or get turned into a familiar or one of Kanato's dolls in the first week. But she had surprised him. She went against all odds and never lost true site herself. As many times as she got bitten, abused, harassed, and bullied. No one could take away her faith, her love, or her sense of pride. Even though she looked weak, she was stronger than he ever could be.
However, the one defining trait she had that separated her from everyone he had ever known, even his mother, was that she cared.
Normally people were scared of him because of how cold his eyes were, or those who did try to pick a fight with him would always end up barely clinging to life. Those who wanted to keep their lives ignored him and made him seem like he didn’t exist. And those who were afraid of him but still wanted attention would spread rumors about him which made everyone stare at every single move he made. It got so bad one time that he snapped, which lead to many people being put in the hospital.
When word reached their father, he wasn’t happy. He sent Subaru to the Lut Desert, one of the hottest places on earth. To make him reflect on his ‘’brutish actions’’. He had never been so pissed off before. That week was pure hell. From morning to night his rage continuously burns for 5 days. He destroys everything in his path. He didn’t care if it was a damn monument, historical artifact, or some useless animal. If he could ruin it, he would. The last two days he was so drained that he couldn’t even move. The day he went home, he looked defeated. Exactly what his father had wanted. His temper was strength and his hatred for everyone and everything hadn’t deceased in the slightest.
The day he got back, a wall was brought higher between his heart and his emotions. A wall that had been there since he was only a child. It was there to protect him and make sure that nobody could hurt him. The wall was impenetrable. But it wasn’t strong enough to protect him from himself. The only thing he couldn’t block out was his deadly thoughts. The only one who could harm him was himself. And he was ok with that. Tried to be ok with it at least. If he was the only one that could hurt him then that meant no one else had the chance to. It was foolproof. Until...
He started to hear another voice on the other side of the barrier. Her voice. It was low and muffled but he could still hear her.
In those first few months of her living with them, she was wary but not distant. She tried to learn more about everyone, even himself. She was the only one to ask him how felt he and what was his opinion. Never once did she look at him with fear or disgust. She talked to him like a normal person would. And it threw him off. Why was she so generous to him? Why did she make it seem like his opinion mattered? Why didn’t she see him as a monster as everyone else did?
While this whole ordeal was happening, Subaru hadn’t realized that his wall had a few cracks in it. And those cracks got bigger and bigger by the day. Then, one day when he was at his worst, the fact that beginning a monster had finally consumed him. He finally loses it.
He went on a rampage. Destroy everything in his way during his traumatic episode. His brother stood there as they watched him spiral out of control. All of them made backhand comments about how barbaric and crazy he was. Deep down inside he had a small bit of hope that maybe they would at least try to help him. He was the youngest, he had no friends or anyone that could help him. Those he at least thought was closed enough to just give him pity. Only made fun of him. That’s what hurt him most of all. The fact that he was truly alone made him so upset that he wanted to cry.
But then, that despair turned into rage. How dare they look down at him, how dare they treat him as a lesser brother, HOW DARE THE IGNORE HIM WHEN HE DOES NEED THEM! He was getting ready to obliterate them next. He ran towards them with blood-lust eyes. Ready to snuff them out! Until he was tackled to the ground. He and the person who tackled him rolled on the ground until they both hit the wall. Subaru quickly got up, ready to kill the person who got in his way. Until that person wrapped their arms around him tightly.
He looked down and saw Yui looking at him with tears in her pleading eyes. Begging him to stop his tirade and just calm down. He wouldn’t easily listen but she wouldn’t easily let go either. He tried to forcefully pull her off but her will was strong and stubborn. After a few minutes, he finally gave up trying to pull her off and decided to listen to what she had to say. Who would’ve known that would be the best decision? Every kind word she said made the wall crack more and more. Her voice on the other side got louder and louder.
Until the entire wall broke down and on the other side was a sunny field of white roses. In front of him was her, she knelt and stuck out her hand to him. She told Subaru that he wasn’t a monster. But a beautiful, sweet, strong, kind vampire. He took her hand reluctantly. His eyes stung from the bright light but for some reason, with her there. It wasn’t so bad. After that day he concluded that. This girl was going to be his life and death of him. His love grew day by day. His love had grown so dangerously big that he didn’t know if he could hold it in anymore. Subaru snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door to the rooftop open.
Shu had walked through and the both of them made eye contact with each other. “Damn I was hoping no one would be here…What a drag.’’ Subaru looked at his older brother and got up.’’I was leaving anyway.’’ Subaru walked past Shu and headed downstairs. The bell had rung for the second period. Not having anything better to do he decided to head to class. Once he reached the classroom, he sat at the furthest desk and looked out the window. While the site of the outside scenery filled his vision, a thought came to his head.
“Maybe asking her to the dance wouldn’t be so bad…’’ Subaru thought as a rosiness dusted his cheeks. The bell rang, singling that it was time for class to start.

~Adriana “Adri” Daysworn~
Tumblr media
(ref sheet & format inspired by @rozeliyawashereyall )
( @aspenm00n we gotta new ref yayayayay!)
Tumblr media
Also quick thing! Adri dies AFTER the events of Gator boys!
Basics:
Full name: Adriana Veronika Daysworn
Age: 23
Birthday: November 8
Species: Human/Spectre
Gender: Genderfluid
Pronouns: Any
Sexuality: Pansexual
Height: 5’8
Weight: 109lbs
Place of birth: Pentiach
MBTI: ENFP-I
Tumblr media
Family:
Adriana grew up surrounded by nobility. Her parents only had one goal: Notoriety. They only saw their children as a pawn in an elaborate game of chess, their only purpose being to be married off into some noble branch.
Her mother, Lucy, grew up in a lavish house in Centara with anything and everything at her fingertips, the downside being that she never understood true struggle, so when she had children, she had a bad habit of tossing their issues aside, unable to grasp what their problems even were. She was 20 when she met Judas. Lucy married him at 22.
Adrianas father, Judas, was the complete opposite of Lucy. If Lucy was ignorant and apathetic on a good day, Judas on a good day would be quiet, which was incredibly unusual. Fights between Lucy and Judas were common. Judas grew up with nothing to his name. He met Lucy when he was 23, it was “love at first sight” if you will.
Micah was Adri’s eldest sibling. Out of all the Daysworn children, he was the most magically gifted. You’d think that his parents would be happy about this, right? No. While Lucy stumbled upon magic few times in her lifetime, she never thought herself to be competent enough to fully grasp it, thus projecting her own issue onto Micah. Judas thought that magic was only for rich snobs (massive hypocrite tbh) Micah was also the primary caretaker of Adri for the first twelve years of her life. When Micah was about 21, he got into a fight with Judas. In a drunken hissy fit of rage, Judas grabbed an empty bottle of whiskey and threw it at Micah. Even though he missed, Judas still managed to do a great deal of damage, causing a cut on Micah’s face. Days after Micah ran away, and was later found dead by a traveler.
Ruthie is Adri’s eldest sister. Adri and Ruthie were incredibly close. She was loud and outspoken, she was the first person to try to help Micah after what happened. Her and Adri’s relationship was less of a sisterly bond but, more like close friends. She was the one who encouraged Adri to confess to Frida. She’s completely cut off her family and now lives in Ahkahn with her husband and son. Ruthie doesn’t have a great relationship with her husband, her son being the only thing keeping her going.
Katherine is Adri’s youngest sibling. While her time with Adri was brief, she still managed to make memories with her. When she was 11, she lived alone with her parents, whom at this point, were less like human beings, and more like shells of what once was, Lucy was deep into Alzheimer’s (or the al’terra equivalent) , and Judas was deep into a malasycthe addiction, Katherine decided that she had enough, and ran away. She walked. She didn’t know where she was going, but nevertheless, she continued. Eventually, she collapsed due to exhaustion, however, a Nixinite woman found her unconscious body, and brought it back to the temple, in hopes that she could be saved, lo and behold, she could. Katherine now resides in the temple, with hopes of finding her siblings.
Tumblr media
Important events (some of these are kind of nothingburgers but it’s whatever)
At four, Adri was on a swing unsupervised, she fell off and hit her shoulder on a jagged rock, causing a scar. In the future, when someone were to ask how she got it, instead of saying what actually happened, she’d make something up like “I got it in a fight with my mom” etc, to make herself seem more brave and important than she appeared.
At five, Katherine was born, the relationship between Adri and Katherine was surface level, nothing too special.
When Adri was six, she caught Micah using magic in secret, they both agreed not to tell their parents, if Adri could watch him practice.
When Adri was eight, she started journaling, nothing too crazy, just little anecdotes of her life along with some drawings. She also got into embroidery & sewing around this point.
At twelve, the whiskey incident occurred. This made Adrianas life take a sharp turn.
When Adri was 15, she met Frida, little did either of them know, this would lead to Frida’s death
Also around this time, Frida & Adri made & painted an ocarina for Adri’s sixteenth birthday.
Adri and Frida wouldve been dating for around a year now, Adri tried to run away a few days prior, but she was caught be her father who threatened to kill Frida as a consequence, when Adri arrived at their usual meeting spot, she found it empty, so she waited. After thirty minutes of waiting, she decided that she shouldn’t wait any longer, and so she started looking for Frida, calling out her name. When she had enough of looking for her, she decided to return to the bench, while she was walking there, something caught her eye, it was Fridas corpse. Horrified, Adri decided she had enough. She had enough of her family, taking away everything that she loved. So, she packed her things, and ran away.
When Adriana had just turned 17, she arrived at Centara. She played her ocarina there for some cash. This caused her to achieve some levels of recognition, but she knew she couldnt stay there for long.
At eighteen, she arrived at Ahkahn, joining the hunters sometime after.

This been in my mind forever. Lets just say now instead of the boys been drunk, we need to see how the S/o is when drunk. Um I made it gender neutral. So I guess sorry for almost no updates.
See ya.
Well enjoy
Leonardo:
They think they smooth, they try show off some moves. The weapons they received was meant for self defence!. Instead they got few scratches, or bruises from poor landing.
He stayed calm the entire time watching over them, then helped tend their injuries kissing them better. He loved them in all kinds of moods, however been a bit past tipsy was to him a rather unique experience. He sees you a lot more relaxed than when sober. He decided to take them to bed and stay close to the bathroom. He really loves them to bits, even when they act like a kid while a bit drunk. Their being flustered in the morning upon realising what happened is what he felt adorable every time.
Donatello:
They always get too close to his projects or his chemicals. They always tried to look smart by trying to decipher some of his notes, although kept stumbling over leads or books. He just tried to keep them from getting hurt ,and still loved how their persona changes in this drunk state. Their rather calm demeanor when drunk was complete opposite when sober. Donnie always had a hangover kit ready for in the morning. When they eventually pass out on the couch, he carries them to the bedroom. He makes sure to stay up late to be ready when for when they bolt to the bathroom. They are a bit on the less than graceful side is why. Nonetheless, he loved and adored every side of them.
Mikey:
They like a second Mikey in a sense. Always smooth talker and yet the only thing that they couldn't top were the moves. They a clumsy dumbass outside their mind. Mikey always stays by their side trying not to fall for the cheesiest lines ever. They normally not much of a smooth talker when sober, however just a few drinks later then get ready for a lot of them!. They tend to get a bit on the crazy side, Mikey had to carry a sheet around with him or everyone else would see you without pajamas on. When he sees your clothes on the ground and you drunk, then he knows just what to do. They end up caught by Mikey and all but dragged to the bedroom, and then falls asleep as soon as their head hits the pillow. Mikey is super patient with them nonetheless. Regardless of been the youngest, he can be more mature than most times.
Raphael:
Lets put it this way, they are as limp as a noodle and refuses to budge when at that point. They sometimes are cranky and cry, but this brute had the patience of an angel. He let them throw their tantrums, then as they fall limp again and whine about their problems he knew they gonna pass out soon. He then after the last phase of tantrums, throws them over his shoulder and feels them go limp. He knew its bed time now, and to him its the best time. He will never admit it to any of his brothers though. Once they were placed on the bed, soft snoring was heard soon. Raphael slipped in bed making sure they can easily get up to bolt for the bathroom if needed.
So um tag any who like this. This has been sitting in my drafts forever. Enjoy.

[Zutara - Modern time Traveling AU]
Disclaimer: This whole AU is based on a Spanish film called "Mirage". I highly suggest everyone go watch the movie if you haven't because everything below contains a lot of spoilers.
Ideas: Katara and Aang have been married for 8 years, during which Aang often had to leave home for weeks for his business trips as a famous entrepreneur while Katara stayed home to tend to their 3 kids whenever she’s not busy with her job as a nurse. Katara loves her family but often feels disheartened whenever her husband returns home and chooses to spend all of his attention on their more talented and youngest child than their older ones.
The couple have just moved into a new house since Aang was transferred to a different location for his job. While setting things up, the two found a box filled with tapes, an old TV set and a camera in the basement.
They decided to assemble the devices and watched the tapes. On the screen, a young boy appeared to be playing a French horn. Most of the tapes seemed to be the boy practising his instrument and talking with his mom until suddenly, the video cut to a news broadcast about a murder, with the date being 20 years ago.
Confused, the couple decided to bring this up to their next-door neighbor, who they invited for dinner. Their neighbor, Ty Lee, not only admitted to knowing the boy but also told them that he was involved in a murder case and ended up dead after getting hit by a car, many years ago. Later, Aang looked up the incident and the two found out that a man had stabbed his wife and chased after the boy, who presumably snuck into his house and found the wife on the floor. The boy managed to get out but ended up getting hit by a car, the moment he stepped foot out on the street. The husband did get arrested and confessed intending to bury his wife's remains at his workshop.
Later that night, Katara was woken from her sleep by strange sounds. When she followed the sounds to the living room, she saw that the old TV and camera were on despite having been turned off earlier. The camera was recording from its place on the TV while the TV screen showed the same boy still practising his horn unbothered. Katara moved closer, standing in front of the TV to try turning it off, not knowing the boy on the screen suddenly stopped playing and was looking right at her. The boy started saying "hello" to call out for her which finally caught Katara's attention.
The two soon realise that they both can communicate with each other through the TV and camera. That's when the boy suddenly turned to his right, saying that he heard commotions coming from his neighbor's house, opposite his. Immediately realised that the reported incident was happening, Katara tried to please the boy to not go and call the police, but he still decided to go and investigate the house. Thinking that she had failed to stop the boy's death, Katara broke down crying, feeling as if her brain was being smushed by invisible forces.
When she finally woke up, Katara found herself being tended to in the hospital where she worked. Assuming last night was a dream, she tried acting calm and changed into her work uniform. However, she noticed everyone at work addressing her as Dr. Katara despite just being a nurse. Alarmed, Katara left the hospital to pick up her kids but none of their schools knew them. She then hurried to her husband's workplace to ask where their kids were only for Aang to not even recognize her. Left with no other choice, Katara headed to the Police Station for help and an officer, who was around her age with a large scar on his face, took her case. After some questioning, the officer informed her that her records showed that she's not married and had no children. He also appeared not to believe her story and advised that she seek medical checkups.
Even more confused, Katara went back to the hospital where she worked for an MRI scan only for the result to state that she's perfectly normal. When she headed to her office, she discovered several certificates and trophies that belonged to her. Turned out, not only was she a successful doctor, Katara was also very well-known and respected in her field.
Finally understanding that her entire life was altered somehow, Katara rushed to her home and soon noticed the drastic difference in her house. Wasting no time, she immediately searched the Internet for the boy last night and found a novel published with the boy's name as the protagonist. Suddenly she heard a scream and quickly turned around, facing a woman asking Katara what's she doing in her house. A man then soon rushed into the room and that's when Katara realised her husband, Aang, had not only married another woman but also had three kids with her.
Heartbroken, Katara ran out of the house and was confronted by police cars for breaking in and had to flee the area. The neighbors all gather outside due to the commotion, including the past killer, who was not arrested in this timeline, and his new wife.
The officer, who previously took Katara's case, tracked her down to a local library where she searched and found the book with the boy in it. The officer recognized the author and took her to meet them. The author admitted only printing the novel and the story actually came from the boy's mother. Katara asked for the boy's whereabouts but upon listening to her explanation, the author believed Katara was joking and refused to provide any information.
With no more leads, Katara begged the officer to find the boy's location for her but he refused unless she gave him a strong reason to. She then remembered that the killer in the past had confessed to planning to bury his wife at his workshop and informed the officer about this information. After a search operation was launched, they soon found the wife's remains and arrested the husband as well as his new wife. After this, the officer had no choice but to believe Katara and asked her to wait while he searched for the boy's records.
While waiting at a restaurant, Katara finally got the courage to look up her husband, Aang on the Internet since she knew that, even in this timeline, he’s still a famous entrepreneur. She came across many articles and videos of him attending events, none of which seemed to have much information about his current family. An interview showed him with only his son and someone exclaiming that his son must have been spoiled rotten since he's the only child. Aang in the video simply laughed it off and the video continued till the end without his other family members being mentioned once.
Katara sat dumbfounded in her seat. Suddenly, memories of her old life came crashing back of her meeting Aang in middle school, falling in love immediately, dating and getting married the moment they were old enough. After that were hazy images of starting a family, supporting her husband as much as possible and taking care of the house after the kids arrived. Even her job as a nurse was only a distraction from the empty space that wasn't her husband and kids.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME SHE VISITED HER BROTHER, SOKKA?!!!
Katara started wondering if she really wanted to return to her old life now that she felt so tired from just looking at her husband's face. However, she immediately shook that thought out of her head. Maybe she was tired. Maybe she now had all the things that she would only dare to wish for back then and embracing this life would be 10 times better than being Aang's perfect wife. But she wouldn't trade her kids for the world, she had to return and take them somewhere far away from whatever their old lives were.
Determined, Katara noticed that tears had run down her face without her realising and whipped them off. That's when she felt someone gently placing their hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Ty Lee, who appeared to work here as a waitress, judging by her uniform. The other woman was obviously concerned seeing someone crying and asked if she needed anything. Wasting no time, Katara asked for her relationship with the young she had been searching for this entire time.
Luckily, not only did Ty Lee still remember him, but she also explained to Katara everything that happened after her intervention. Apparently, the boy became quite famous after accusing his neighbor of murdering his wife but the wife's records showed that she had flighted to Paris with her flight details verified. With no evidence to back up his claim, the boy was deemed a lunatic by the whole neighbor and his mother was forced to take him to somewhere far away.
(And..... that's it, folks! Honestly, this somehow ended up as an entire fic rather than an AU, but luckily, I can finally end this here. If anyone is interested in the rest, I recommend watching the original film cause this AU is entirely based on it.
I wouldn't spoil the ending since this film was such a good mystery but some of you might have already guessed what the twist was after reading all of this. 😅
Anyway, if you reach this far, thank you so much for reading!!💖
I hope y'all have a great weekend and keep calm and love Zutara~✨)
