Hi, member of the bug army here, I have to agree with anon.

I hate to admit it (especially considering a whole lot of the bugs are super close friends of mine), but I get really anxious voicing my opinion on certain gator boys related things & hot takes.

And the comment about all of the bugs being “respectful about opinions” & that being a lie, oh my god you have no idea how much that resonated with me. I am not trying to start ANYTHING with ANYONE, but I do have to agree, of course the bugs are still respectful about opinions & all that, but I feel I cannot voice my own thoughts on certain things that I disliked about Gator Boys without feeling like me having thoughts that are different to others without being judged.

So yeah

Those are my hot takes for all of you to subsequently get mad about.

I'm glad this is a safe place to vent.

I've been very unmotivated to join fandoms lately.

Redacted and Gator boys for example.

Redacted is the most common toxic fandom you think of unfortunately in the audio community today and it's sad because his works are actually really nice but people in there just gave me the "ughh" vibe.

Gator Boys, as far as I can tell, is not a very toxic fandom (from what I've noticed). There are just strange people on it. I have unpopular opinions like: The arena arc came too soon and too suddenly, I haven't gotten as attached to the gators as I'd like to admit. I wish I could say this publicly but I know I will be judged. And then they'll be like "Oh, you don't need to be afraid, we're all respectful" said by someone from the bug army. Please don't tell me that because I know it's a dirty little lie.

It's a shame because I've followed Gator Boys since the beginning and I was disappointed with the direction it took.

Literally every character should have been developed much earlier. For some reason I feel like the bug army will eventually get too big for the fandom itself to control and when someone gets hurt the blame will fall on the creators.

I've got a stupid idea!!!

I really like the sims rn so I had the idea of putting some of the Bug Army into the sims. Would be cool to see who they interacted with :D

There's a max of 8 sims in 1 household so I might just do one house but if there's enough Bugs we'll do two houses!

If you want to imprison ur Bug in the sims reblog with a picture/ pictures of them :D

(Also I wanna remake the 'rainbow of bugs' drawing I did, cause it was...awful lol)

Me and @solzticesoulz are planning on hosting a cool new event! It's called: The Bug Army Election!

In it, you will have the chance to submit your bug to be chosen for a certain title! Some of these titles include:

- most traumatized

- least traumatized

-biggest sweetheart

- therapist

- along with many other fun categories!

Please note: this is for fun, and fun only! Please do not stirr up a fuss if your bug doesn't win anything. there are 50+ bugs, and I doubt we will be able to come up with 50+ categories, so please be understanding.

I present to you, a listener character!!

YouTube Audio Series: Gator Boys

Listener: Bug (in nearly all varieties except literally)

Name: Beatrice "Trish" Atknis

Never knew a biological family, grew up in an orphanage in Aakahn, where the environment was less than ideal for a small child. The kids in their care would quickly learn to fend for themselves, stealing food, coin purses, medical supplies, whatever they might need whenever they might get the chance to get it.

Beatrice learned quickly to play the tough girl act, to play at being confident and do everything on her own.

When she managed to get out of the orphanage, she tried to get a better life for herself with an honest job but it's not as easy as it seemed to be for everyone else. After a few years of bouncing from job to job, she decided to try to be a hunter, the work' i's dangerous but she could handle herself and not only was it well paid but hunting down monsters sounded like an honorable enough job. What could possibly go wrong?

She could get herself lost and then step right into a bear trap! That's what could go wrong! Because Divines forbid anything actually works her way even once! Her very long and varied list of curses did not seem like enough as images of dying alone in the middle of nowhere where bleeding out or starving were the better options when compared to being brutally murdered by some swamp moster made the rounds in her head... Maybe her next life would be better, because there was no way it could actually be worse! At least it wasn't like she was leaving anyone behind to remember her, let alone miss her...

As it happens, her whole life was about to take a turn she had never even dreamt possible.

Turns out, the “monsters” of the swamp weren’t the big green and clawed alligator half bloods, but the humans who hunted them. Kinder than any human she had ever met, these gators take her in and show her something she had only ever dreamt of – a true home. They look after her when she's injured and when she's sick, never doing anything to make her feel like a burden. They care for each other and even for her, a human who they know basically nothing about "Do humans not help each other? The way I see it, it's only natural to help a person when they need it." an action that seemed so natural to them yet feels absolutely foreign to her even though she knew it shouldn't. For the first time ever she felt... Safe.

Confessing to being a hunter was the scariest thing she’d ever even considered doing, but Bodie admits to have known all along and so revealing himself SOMEHOW even kinder than she already thought him to be. But what about Marco? Or, Divines forbid, Timmy…?

As she's gathering her courage and picking just the right words and where to even START that conversation, the chance gets taken away from her... With the catfish out of the bag, she just hopes to be able to help and maybe, just maybe, Divines willing, they'd understand too.

So, this is an idea I got from a conversation on the Bug Army Discord server:

Amber runs up to your Bug, her arms gangling with enough necklaces for every Bug in the Hive.

“Hey!” she calls out to you, handing you one of the pendants, it was shaped like your favorite insect and carved from your favorite gemstone. “I made these for all of us. With so many hunters hanging around the Hive, I know it’s only a matter of time until someone gets in trouble, so if you’re ever in danger, and too far away, just smack this really hard on your hand or the ground. Watch.” She took a pendant of her own, a firefly made of Moss Agate from around her neck and smacked it against a tree, summoning a swarm of fireflies.

“The fireflies will lead us right to you. I… I hope you like it!”

Describe your Bug’s pendant, their reaction upon receiving it, and maybe a scenario where they need to use the pendant!
