Something I like about Leo is that he’s honestly really chill? It’s easy to remember the moments where he’s being obnoxious or excitable but I feel like most of the time he’s incredibly “go with the flow” and has an overall affable demeanor.

#rottmnt #rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles #rottmnt leo #rise leo #Genuinely speaking I feel like said demeanor is incredibly useful for when he has to charm and/or persuade people into listening to him#I have a whole post talking about Leo’s charm and how he consistently gets people to hear him out even if he’s annoyed or upset them #like they’ll still listen to what he has to say in full #his charisma stat is real and utilized quite often in this series I swear he’s not just a loser cringeboy all the time 😭#if he wants to persuade and/or charm then he honestly sooo often does #me listing the 400th reason why Leo grows up to be the worlds best ninja and a good 365 of those reasons are Leo’s various subterfuge skill #Like most episodes where he’s not the main focus (and even many where he is)#he’s a voice of reason who notices things quickly and is often the one taking point to talk down situations #something interesting I found between Leo and Mikey is that #Mikey tells people what they need to hear #Leo tells people what they want to hear #not only out of his own agenda either #when bullhop was wrecking their home leo was the one that negotiated to make the situation go smoother #even if he would have rather bullhop left #meanwhile Mikey is the one who bluntly tells things as it is #small character moment that means a lot to me #Mikey is an honest boy who is upfront about his feelings #Leo prefers to let people make their own decisions he wants them to through steering the convo in that direction #but he is easily cowed by guilt #regardless leo is a people person - he knows how to talk to them and how to manipulate/persuade #and I like that his bros know this and often push him forward to do the talking if they wanna charm someone into doing what they want #I think Leo’s hope speeches are also an example of this - he’s saying what people really want to hear (and often it’s ALSO what they NEED)#the further the series goes on the higher Leo’s inner stress rises and he just keeps that chill aura anyway #there’s a reason!!! he wanted to go to a SPA so badly!!#literally the first thing he does when he gets in is rest #no joke meditation would do him good? like- it’s a Leo thing and I genuinely think rise leo would be no different here

Do you ever think about how grim is basically being raised by Yuu and the other's.

Like I refuse to believe that Grim has not picked up any saying from yuu.Like god-damnit what you live with someone for months and you don't pick up on any of there habits.

I like to think that Grim has more in common with Yuu and people from their world than he does people and monsters in Twisted Wonderland for... reasons.

But I hadn't much thought about things in the terms of Yuu and their friend group raising him. I think he probably does pick up on the way Yuu talks about things, their form, the little things they do with their hands. All of Yuu's little ticks, Grim says he was waiting in the dark for someone or something he can't remember... I'd like to think he was waiting for Yuu even if he didn't know it. But that's just me hoping Yuu will get to be very important in the future haha

I got this book for .50 cents and I am obligated to share the different characterizations and dialogues from it to the movie. Spoilers: A lot of King Candy pages<3

The introduction for King Candy is basically the same up until Ralph burst in. “Heavens to unleavened bread” honestly make me cackle, Turbo could not swear in this game 💀 Also Vanollepe throwing candy in Ralph’s eyes give me Mabel attack glitter energy.

Interrogation scene.

“Tough taffy” help-

Turbo flashback was just one page and of course speedran through for the sake of the book. Pretty much the same.

King Candy’s manipulation tactics are shown a bit more, full on gaslighting💀

More talkative with threats until he was eaten by a cybug. “Game jumper” oh he’s one to talk.

The King CandyBug ‘fight’ lasted like 3 lines so not much there, but his demise definitely is different. If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t this what was planned in the story board? I’m probably remembering wrong, but yeah RIP.

Thinking about nicknames or pet names for Whumpee being absolutely ruined by Whumper.

Where Whumpee was once fond of Caretaker using their shortened name, now they can’t stand to hear it. Now they’re afraid of endearing terms like dear, or love, or sweetheart, because it was what Whumper called them.

#and this creates quite the emotional wreck for Caretaker as well #imagine THAT conversation #imagine Caretaker’s grief and anger over something so small being taken away from Whumpee #even when stupid nicknames are low on Whumpee’s list of Whumper’s offenses #whump

Something I find interesting is that even though Wreck it Ralph is a modern video game based Disney movie, they still managed to play around with a few common Disney tropes.

For example, a protagonist who's a social outsider/outcast for things outside of their control:

Who gets told off about his status:

An usurper to a throne:

Not to mention, the villain transformation. (King Candy transforms into a cybug like Maleficent into a dragon or other villains with transformations)

A rightful ruler kept from the throne:

A couple that gets married at the end:

Maybe it's just me, but I like how even though there's no actual magic involved they found a way to interweave different tropes by using modern technology into a single, cohesive narrative.
