Weaknesses part 5: complexes
Note: this is jokes!! Please donât take my cartoon pathologizing too seriously!
cw: some daddy kink level stuff
Gaz has a soft spot for girls who suffer from oldest sister syndrome. Girls that are a little world weary and too grown up at too young an age from caring for others while not having people to rely on. He just loves how pleasantly surprised you are literally every time he does something helpful that you didnât ask him to do. Doing the dishes. Spackling that hole from the picture you took down. Refilling the air in the tires. Bleaching the bathtub. Very small thingsâ but youâre so used to being the only one who can stay on top of things. Literally the high he gets from telling you to sit down and relax is unparalleled.
Soap is, quite frankly, into girls who grew up thinking they were ugly. Itâs a terribly selfish, but he likes telling you all of the dirty things he thinks of doing to you, how he feels like someoneâs knocked him upside the head when you enter a room in a new outfit, how he has to take a cold shower every time youâre going out to some event and he gets to see you dressed up. Honestly, he has to take the cold showers pretty regularly. Seeing how youâre flustered, and you donât 100% believe the things he saysâ so he has to put in the time to make you believe him. Youâre the kind of girl boys would dare each other to ask out in middle school, and now Soap has the absolute pleasure of convincing you that sometimes you make him so turned on that he thinks heâs about to throw up.
Ghost likes outcast girls. He likes how you eye him with a little bit of suspicion when he chooses to hang around you. He sort of gets this idea in his head that heâs the only one that can handle your eccentricitiesâ handle you. That other people are afraid to approach you but heâs not afraid of anything. That his interest in you is because honestly, he has a much more refined palate than any of the shitheads youâre surrounded by. And you know what? He likes the idea of you as a couple being the scary, freak ass couple. Two lone wolves becoming mates.
Price likes former gifted students. He loves that youâre talented and quick, yes, but he also canât help but get excited by all of that pressure thatâs on youâ that you put on yourself. He gets to be the one that relieves it. Heâs the one that gets to lavish you in praise, and heâs also the one who gets to pin you down and force you to take it easy for a little while. He loves gently handling any mistakes or missteps, rationally perceived or otherwise. Because he can tell no oneâs ever bothered to treat you so gently, have they, sweetheart? Theyâve just been content to push you to your limits and have you run yourself ragged because youâre special. You are, he wonât deny itâ but youâre also a little thing that hasnât seen enough nurturing, in his eyes.
KĂśnig loves so called âhigh maintenanceâ girls. Girls with high standards who know what they want, who have gone through some partners that couldnât take the heat. He gets a very unique sense of control out of itâ knowing all of your rules, rituals, likes, dislikes. Like Ghost, he likes thinking of himself as the only person who knows how to handle youâ that everyone before him has just been unworthy of you. That he is strong where others have been weak. And you know what? Itâs not rotten work. Not to him. Not if itâs you. Heâs just built different.
Nikolai⌠Iâm just going to say it. He likes girls with daddy issues. He kinda throws his whole self into relationships at times, and he likes it when he can be your everything. Your love, your friend, your hero, your source of approval from an older man. And he loves a brat. Because he knows you only act that way because someone didnât pay attention to his special girl in the past. Youâre testing himâ daring him, unsheathing your claws to see if heâll flinch and he never will. Heâll endure it all and chip at your defenses until youâre the soft, satisfied, sweet girl he knows you really want to be. Lavishing you with praise and attention, bragging about you to anyone who will listen. He wants you to have a complete breakdown because youâve been holding it all in and putting up walls for so long that you donât even know how to cope with being in the arms of someone who will always catch you when you fall.

ââ´ď¸Ë・âSTUDY BREAK (FT. GOJO)
ę°Â synopsis. being in the same class as gojo satoru was bad enough; having him as the professorâs insufferably smug assistant made it worse. content. college au. nsfw. (teasing. slight praise kÄąnk. fÄąngering. oräl. p in v. multiple Ĺrgasms.) wc. 5.3k. an. to clear up any confusion đ.. satoruâs a senior student + the professorâs assistant in the course youâre both taking. (fic is kinda all over the place so idk if this works but letâs pretend like it does).
thereâs something about gojo satoru that drives you insane. not in the fun, heart-fluttering way that comes with a secret crush or the thrill of banter. noâthis is the kind of insane where you want to hurl something, preferably at his stupidly smug face.
âclass,â he drawls, leaning lazily against the desk at the front of the room, his shirt slightly rumpled like he doesnât give a damnâand he doesnât. âthese papers? a mixed bag. some of you really impressed me. others⌠well.â his lips curve into a smirk. âletâs just say the recycling bin was hungry.â
you groan inwardly, already sensing where this is going. heâs done this before, holding your work hostage like itâs part of his routine entertainment.
âand here,â he continues, brandishing a paper like a prop. your paper. âis a prime example of someone⌠almost getting there. strong ideas, decent execution, but the conclusion? oof. fell harder than my GPA sophomore year.â
a few students laugh. your jaw tightens, the heat in your chest bubbling up into something sharp and biting. he doesnât have to name you; everyone knows exactly whose paper heâs waving around.
âanyway,â he finishes with a shrug, tossing the paper onto the desk like itâs disposable. âthereâs potential. keep at it.â
you donât even wait for class to end before your resolve solidifies: youâre going to kill him. maybe not literally, but metaphorically? absolutely.
you donât plan on storming to his dorm room. it just⌠happens. one moment, youâre replaying his smug grin and the way his eyes gleamed when he mocked your paper, and the next, youâre standing outside his door, your fist raised to knock.
he answers quickly, and the sight of him makes you falter. his hair is damp, sticking out in soft tufts like he just got out of the shower, and his plain white t-shirt clings to him in a way thatâs almostâno. you shake the thought away.
âwell, this is unexpected,â he says, leaning against the doorframe with a grin thatâs all teeth. âif you wanted private tutoring, you couldâve just asked.â
âdonât flatter yourself,â you snap, brushing past him into the room without waiting for an invitation.
he whistles low under his breath. âfeisty tonight. to what do I owe the pleasure?â
you spin to face him, your hands clenched at your sides. âwhat is your problem with me?â
he blinks, his smirk faltering for a fraction of a second before returning full force. âproblem? sweetheart, i donât have a problem with you.â
âyou humiliate me in class,â you say, your voice rising. âyou make these comments, you single me outâwhat, are you that bored with your life?â
âhumiliate?â he echoes, feigning a wounded look. âi think you mean âmotivate.â youâre one of the smartest people in that class. if i donât push you, who will?â
âthatâs bullshit,â you fire back, stepping closer. âyou donât âpushâ anyone else.â
âbecause no one else is as fun,â he replies easily, his grin tilting into something sharper. âthe way you react, the fire in your eyesâitâs addictive.â
your breath catches, the heat in your chest spreading to your cheeks. âyouâre insufferable.â
âand yet, here you are,â he says, his voice dropping just enough to make the air between you feel heavier. âin my room. alone.â
âbecause you drive me crazy,â you snap, the words tumbling out before you can stop them.
his eyebrows lift slightly, as if heâs genuinely intrigued by your outburst. âgood crazy or bad crazy?â
he takes a step closer, too close. the kind of close that makes your pulse stutter and your instincts scream at you to step backâbut you donât. instead, you stand your ground, your jaw clenched as he waits for your answer, his gaze steady and almost daring.
âwhat does it matter?â you mutter, your voice quieter now, the heat of your earlier anger ebbing into something more uncertain.
âit matters,â he says, his voice low as his eyes flicker to your lips. âbecause I need to know if I can do this.â
before you can ask what he means, he leans in, his lips brushing against yours like heâs giving you the chance to pull away. but you donât. his hand finds your waist, tugging you closer as the kiss deepens, his mouth hot and insistent against yours.
itâs like a dam breaking. weeksâmonthsâof tension and unspoken words all come crashing down in a rush of heat and urgency. his other hand slides into your hair, tilting your head to kiss you deeper, and the sound you make in response is embarrassing and needy, but you canât bring yourself to care.
you should stop this. you should push him away, tell him heâs crossed a line. but the way his thumb brushes against your waist, the way he tilts his head just right, the way he kisses like heâs been waiting for this moment as long as you haveâitâs addictive. you canât stop. you donât want to.
but then reality slams into you like a cold gust of wind. what are you doing? your chest tightens as the weight of it crashes down all at once, the heat between you dissolving into something sharper, more terrifying.
you pull back abruptly, your breathing uneven. âi canât.â
he blinks, his expression softening from one of heat to confusion. âwhat?â
âthisâthis is a mistake,â you stammer, backing away. your hands feel clumsy as they fumble behind you for the door. âi shouldnât have come here.â
âwait.â his hand reaches out, almost instinctively, but youâre already opening the door, your chest tight and your mind racing as you step out into the hall. you donât look back, even as the warmth of his touch lingers on your skin.
ââââ
you avoid him after that. in class, you sit as far from him as possible, claiming a seat in the back corner, close to the door. the usual tension he brought to the roomâhis teasing remarks, his piercing gaze when he caught you rolling your eyesâfeels conspicuously absent. he doesnât call on you, doesnât glance your way, doesnât even acknowledge you.
itâs been weeks since that night in his dorm, and as the semester nears its end, the distance feels heavier with every passing class. his silence, once the thing you desperately wanted, now presses on your chest like a weight. you wonder if he regrets it, if heâs just as caught in the what-ifs as you areâor if heâs already forgotten.
the final project looms, deadlines creeping closer, but the distraction isnât enough to stop the quiet ache thatâs settled in your chest. you remind yourself itâs for the best. boundaries were crossed, a line you know you shouldnât have stepped over. it doesnât matter how he made you feel, how his kisses left you breathless and yearning. none of it matters.
and yet, every time you leave class, you rush, head down, praying he wonât stop you. and every time he doesnât, the ache grows.
when class ends today, the air feels heavier than usual. your peers chatter around you, their voices blending into background noise as you pack your things quickly, eyes fixed on the door. if you can just slip out unnoticed, avoid another day of walking the tightrope youâve been balancing on since that nightâ
but then a hand wraps gently around your wrist, warm and familiar.
âyouâre avoiding me,â he says, his voice low and steady. thereâs no edge to it, no teasing grin or smug undertone. just quiet certainty, like heâs stating a fact.
you freeze, your heart thudding in your chest. itâs been so long since heâs said anything to you that the sound of his voice directed at you feels foreign.
âiâm late,â you mumble, tugging your wrist weakly in an attempt to free yourself. âlet me go.â
âyou donât have any classes after this,â he says, his grip loosening but not letting go. his eyes meet yours, calm but resolute. âi checked your schedule.â
your jaw tightens, irritation flashing through you. âyou shouldnât have access to my schedule.â
âprobably not,â he admits with a shrug, a hint of the old satoru creeping into his voice, âbut iâm me.â
you open your mouth to snap at him, to tell him to back off, but he cuts you off first. âcome have coffee with me.â
you blink, caught off guard by the casual offer. âwhat?â
âcoffee,â he repeats, his tone light, as if this is perfectly normal. âyou like coffee, donât you?â
âthatâs not the point,â you snap, yanking your wrist free from his grasp. âwhat is this, some weird apology?â
âitâs not weird,â he says, his smirk faltering slightly now, his expression open and strangely earnest. âitâs just coffee. with me.â
you stare at him, struggling to find the right words. âgojo,â you begin, your voice heavy, âyou and i are not friends.â
his face falls, the shift so quick and unexpected that it makes your stomach twist. you see the way his shoulders tense, the way his gaze drops for just a moment, but you force yourself to look away. without giving him a chance to reply, you turn and push past him, your steps quick and unsteady as you leave the classroom.
the ache in your chest grows with every step, and even as you round the corner, out of sight, the image of his expression lingers. thereâs no relief this time. only guilt.
ââââ
you donât know why youâre here. no, thatâs a lieâyou know exactly why youâre here. the memory of his expression, the slight drop of his shoulders at your retort, has been looping in your mind, making it impossible to focus on anything else.
your feet carry you down the familiar path to his dorm, the ache in your chest twisting tighter with every step. before you can talk yourself out of it, your fist is already knocking on the door.
it opens almost immediately, and the sight of him steals the breath from your lungs. his white hair is a mess, sticking up in chaotic directions, and his glasses are perched crookedly on his nose. thereâs a faint crease on his cheek, like heâd been leaning against a book, and his shirt hangs loosely off one shoulder, rumpled from sleep or hours spent working. he looks⌠soft. disarming. almost painfully cute.
âcoffee,â you say, holding up the cups like a white flag. âcan i come in?â
his lips twitch, a hint of a smile breaking through the haze of surprise as he steps aside. âbribery, huh? didnât think you had it in you.â
his dorm is as cluttered as you rememberâpapers and notebooks sprawled across his desk, a blinking laptop shoved precariously to one side. you set the coffee down on the edge of the desk, your gaze catching on the scrawled notes and dense blocks of text.
âgrading?â you ask.
âresearch,â he replies, dropping onto the edge of his bed with a tired sigh. his hand rakes through his already-messy hair, making it stick up even more. âfinals prep. you know, glamorous TA things.â
you hand him a cup, your fingers brushing against his as he takes it. the simple contact sends a jolt up your arm that you stubbornly ignore. âthought you could use it.â
he hums as he takes a sip, his lashes fluttering briefly before he lets out a quiet sound of approval. the noise is so low, so soft, it makes your stomach twist. you glance away quickly, your grip tightening on your own cup.
âabout the other day,â you start, the words quiet and tentative.
he glances up, the coffee still in his hands. his expression is unreadable, but his fingers still against the cup, like heâs waiting for the other shoe to drop. âyou donât have to explain,â he says, setting his cup down on the desk. âif you donât want thisâif i got it wrongâjust say so.â
âitâs not that,â you blurt, the words tumbling out too fast, too raw. warmth floods your cheeks, creeping down to your chest. âi just⌠i donât know what this is.â
he doesnât respond immediately, doesnât fall into his usual teasing deflection. instead, he stands, crossing the small space between you with deliberate steps. his gaze holds yours, steady and unguarded, and it makes your stomach flip in a way you canât control.
âlet me show you,â he says softly, his voice low, uncharacteristically serious.
heâs so close now, his hand brushing against yours, his touch light, almost hesitant. and then his lips are on yours, and everything else fades away.
this kiss is nothing like the first. thereâs no uncertainty, no restraint. his hands find your waist, pulling you flush against him as his mouth moves against yours, hot and insistent. your grip on the coffee slips, the cup hitting the floor with a dull thud as your hands find his shoulders, clutching at the fabric of his shirt.
when his hands slide under your shirt, the roughness of his palms against your bare skin makes you shudder. he guides you backward, his body pressing into yours until the backs of your knees hit the mattress. you sink down, the weight of him grounding you as he follows, his lips trailing fire along your jaw and down your neck.
his hands are everywhereâtracing the curve of your waist, brushing the underside of your ribs, exploring like heâs memorizing every inch of you. when he pulls back to look at you, his lips are curved in a wicked, breath-stealing grin.
âyouâre infuriating,â he murmurs, his voice low and rough as his eyes rake over you, drinking in every detail.
âyouâre worse,â you manage, though your voice is barely more than a whisper.
his grin widens, and his laugh is warm against your skin as he dips his head, his teeth grazing the sensitive spot just below your ear. âyouâre already so worked up. itâs cute.â
âshut up,â you snap, though the way your hips arch into his touch betrays you.
âmake me,â he challenges, his lips brushing against yours before descending lower, kissing down your collarbone and tugging your shirt higher with every inch. his hands roam greedily, tugging the fabric over your head and tossing it somewhere behind him without a second thought.
his mouth is back on you immediately, nipping and kissing along the swell of your breasts as his hands work the clasp of your bra. when it comes free, his lips part in a satisfied hum, his hands kneading your soft skin like heâs savoring every second of this.
âso fucking perfect,â he mutters, his voice husky as he leans back slightly to take in the sight of you. his gaze is heavy, filled with something dark and hungry that makes your stomach twist in the best way.
âstop staring,â you grumble, though the heat in your cheeks betrays the sharpness of your words.
âcanât help it,â he says, his grin tilting into something softer, more genuine. âyouâre gorgeous.â
before you can respond, his mouth is back on you, his tongue flicking over your nipple as his other hand trails down your stomach, fingers dipping just beneath the waistband of your pants. your breath hitches as he pauses, his gaze flicking up to meet yours.
âcan i?â he asks, his voice quieter now, his expression serious.
you nod, and he wastes no time. his fingers hook under the fabric, tugging your pants and underwear down in one swift motion. the cool air against your bare skin makes you shiver, but the warmth of his hands is there immediately, coaxing you to relax under his touch.
âlook at you,â he murmurs, his voice low and thick as his hands part your thighs, his gaze drinking in every inch of you. âso fucking pretty.â
your cheeks flush, and you try to turn your head away, but his hand cups your chin, gently coaxing you to meet his eyes. âdonât hide from me,â he says, his thumb brushing against your cheek. ânot tonight.â
his other hand slides between your thighs, his touch featherlight at first, teasing. when his thumb brushes over your clit, a jolt of heat shoots through you, and your hips buck involuntarily.
âsensitive,â he murmurs, his lips curving into a wicked grin. âi barely touched you, and youâre already squirming.â
âshut up,â you snap, your voice shaky as your fingers clutch at the sheets beneath you. but the way your body reactsâarching into his touch, chasing the pressureâmakes it clear that his teasing isnât far from the truth.
âyou donât really want me to, do you?â his voice is low, almost a growl, and the sound of it sends a shiver down your spine. âi think you like when i talk to you like this. when i tell you how good youâre doing, how fucking beautiful you look right now.â
your chest heaves as his fingers dip lower, sliding through your slick folds with infuriating slowness. every movement feels deliberate, calculated, like heâs savoring every second. when his fingers finally slip inside you, the stretch makes your head fall back, a gasp tumbling from your lips.
âthatâs it,â he murmurs, his thumb circling your clit as his fingers begin to move, slow and deliberate at first. âyou feel so fucking good, baby. so perfect.â
your hands fly to his shoulders, your nails digging into his skin as he curls his fingers, hitting a spot that makes your vision blur. âoh my godâgojoââ
he tuts sharply, his fingers pausing inside you, his thumb stalling its maddening rhythm. your head snaps up, breathless and confused, to find him staring down at you with a dark look, his lips curving into a smirk that doesnât quite reach his eyes.
âno,â he says firmly, his voice low and commanding as he tilts his head. âsay satoru.â
âw-what?â you stammer, your heart racing as his fingers remain perfectly still, the tension building with every passing second.
ânot âgojo,ââ he says again, his free hand sliding up to cup your jaw, tilting your face toward his. his thumb brushes over your bottom lip, his grin sharpening. âsay satoru.â
you hesitate, your breath hitching as your body trembles beneath him. he presses his fingers deeper, curling them just enough to make your toes curl, and your resolve shatters.
âsatoru,â you gasp, your voice breaking on the syllables.
his smirk widens, something dark and triumphant flickering in his eyes. âgood girl,â he murmurs, his thumb resuming its slow, torturous circles on your clit as his fingers pick up their rhythm again, harder this time, deeper.
your head falls back against the mattress, your body arching into his touch as the pleasure builds again, higher and hotter than before. his name tumbles from your lips like a mantra, breathless and needy as he drives you closer to the edge.
âthatâs it,â he coaxes, his voice dripping with praise as his free hand slides down your body, his touch possessive. âjust like that, baby. let go for me.â
the coil in your stomach tightens to the breaking point, and when he curls his fingers just right, pressing against the perfect spot, it snaps. your orgasm crashes over you, white-hot and overwhelming, and his name spills from your lips in a broken moan.
âsatoruâfuckââ
âthatâs my girl,â he murmurs, his voice rough with approval as he works you through the waves of pleasure, his movements slowing but never stopping until your body goes slack beneath him, trembling and spent.
he pulls his hand away slowly, his gaze fixed on you as he brings his fingers to his lips, licking them clean with a deliberate, satisfied hum. âeven better than i imagined,â he says, his voice dripping with arrogance, his eyes gleaming as they roam over your flushed, trembling body.
you blink, your breath still uneven as his words settle over you. âwaitââ you say, your voice catching slightly. âyouâve thought about this?â
his grin widens, slow and deliberate, and he leans down, bracing himself on his forearms so his face is just inches from yours. âoh, sweetheart,â he murmurs, his voice low and teasing, âyou really think i havenât?â
your cheeks flush even hotter, your pulse racing as his words sink in. âyouâreââ you stammer, at a rare loss for words. âyouâre ridiculous.â
âridiculous?â he repeats, feigning offense, though the wicked glint in his eyes never falters. âiâd say iâm a man of focus. youâve been in my head for weeks, driving me insane with that sharp mouth and the way you look at me when you think i donât notice.â
âi donâtââ you begin, but his lips curve into a knowing smirk, cutting you off.
âyou do,â he insists, his tone softening just slightly. âand every time you glared at me, every time you rolled your eyes or bit back some little retort, all i could think about was how much i wanted to shut you up. like this.â
his lips capture yours again, and this kiss is slower, heavier, laced with an intensity that makes your toes curl. his hands roam, sliding over your bare skin with a reverence that feels almost out of place against his words.
when he finally pulls back, his gaze is still on you, his expression uncharacteristically serious. âand now that iâve got you,â he says, his voice dipping into something darker, âi donât think iâll ever get enough.â
the weight of his confession leaves you breathless, and before you can respond, his lips are trailing down your body again, his hands parting your thighs as he settles between them.
âwhat are youââ you start, but his eyes flick up to meet yours, and the look in them steals the rest of your words.
ârelax,â he murmurs, his lips curving into a soft, almost mischievous smile. âiâm not done tasting you yet.â
his hands slide to grip your thighs, pulling you apart with ease as his lips descend, brushing over your inner thighs, teasingly slow. his tongue flicks out, hot and wet against your skin, and when his mouth finally finds you again, you feel your body arch instinctively, your breath leaving in a sharp, unrestrained gasp.
heâs relentless. his tongue drags up your folds in a languid stroke before circling your clit with maddening precision. his mouth is hot, the slick, wet sounds mingling with your soft moans, and his breathâwarm and unevenâfans against your skin with every movement.
his hair brushes against your thighs, soft and messy, and your fingers thread through it again, tugging sharply enough to make him groan against you. the vibration of it sends a jolt of pleasure straight through your core, and your hips buck against his mouth.
âsatoru,â you gasp, but itâs barely coherent, your voice breaking as he latches onto your clit, sucking just enough to make your toes curl. âoh myââ
the cold press of something against your inner thigh pulls you out of the haze, just barely. itâs sharp, unfamiliar, and you glance downâhis glasses. theyâre still perched on his nose, slightly crooked, the metal frame fogging faintly from the heat of his breath. heâs so lost in the moment, so focused on the way his tongue works against you, that he hasnât even noticed.
your hand drifts down, brushing against the cool frame, and you slip them off without a word. the absurdity of itâthe way heâs been eating you out with his glasses still onâmakes you want to laugh. the corners of your mouth twitch, and a soft sound bubbles up in your throat, but then his tongue presses flat against your folds, dragging up in one slow, deliberate motion, and the laugh dissolves into a sharp moan.
your head falls back against the pillow, your hand tangling back in his hair as you toss the glasses onto the bed with the other. the noise they make as they hit the mattress is faint, drowned out by the obscene wet sounds of his mouth, the low hums of satisfaction he lets out as he devours you.
âfuck,â you whimper, your thighs trembling as his tongue flicks against your clit again, faster now, more insistent. your body arches instinctively, chasing the pressure, and his hands tighten on your thighs, pulling you even closer to his mouth.
he growls against you, the sound low and rough, vibrating through you in a way that makes your toes curl. his tongue dips lower, teasing your entrance before sliding back up, and the sharp scrape of his teeth against your swollen clit has you seeing stars.
âso fucking sweet,â he mutters, his voice muffled against your slick skin. âcanât get enough of you, baby.â
you canât respond, canât think. the only thing you can focus on is the way his tongue works against you, precise and relentless, building the heat in your stomach until itâs unbearable. your fingers twist in his hair, pulling harder, and the groan he lets out in response sends you spiraling.
âsatoruââ his name falls from your lips like a prayer, breathless and broken. he doesnât stop, doesnât let up, his mouth dragging you closer and closer to the edge until you canât hold on any longer.
your orgasm hits you hard, ripping through you in waves that leave your entire body trembling. your hips jerk against his hold, your moans loud and unrestrained as you ride it out. his tongue slows, working you through every aftershock until youâre left panting, boneless against the bed.
when he finally pulls back, his chest is heaving, his lips and chin glistening with your slick. his hair is a mess, strands sticking up where your fingers had tugged, and his eyesâthose impossibly bright bluesâflick up to meet yours, gleaming with satisfaction.
âtwice,â he says, his voice low and teasing as he wipes his mouth with the back of his hand.
he sits back on his knees, his hands smoothing over your trembling thighs as he takes in the sight of youâflushed, panting, your chest rising and falling as you try to catch your breath. his grin is lazy, self-satisfied, like he knows exactly what heâs done to you.
âyouâre staring,â you mutter weakly, your voice barely above a whisper.
âhard not to,â he replies, his tone low and full of amusement. his fingers trace lazy patterns on your skin, his touch soft, teasing. âyou look so fucking good when you come.â
your cheeks burn, and you want to glare at him, to tell him to shut up, but the words catch in your throat as he reaches for the hem of his shirt. in one fluid motion, he pulls it over his head and tosses it to the side, the movement effortless and maddeningly confident.
your eyes follow the shift of his muscles, the way they ripple under his skin, lean and defined. a faint sheen of sweat glistens across his chest, catching the dim light, highlighting every sharp line and curve. your gaze drifts lower, down to the sharp ridges of his abdomen. the faint trail of white hair starting just below his navel draws your attention, leading your eyes further, until his hands move to the waistband of his boxers.
he doesnât rush. he hooks his thumbs under the fabric, dragging it down slowly, deliberately, letting the anticipation coil tighter in your stomach. as the fabric falls away, your breath hitches.
heâs fully bare now, and your mouth goes dry.
his cock is⌠breathtaking. thick and flushed a deep pink at the tip, already leaking beads of precum that catch the light as they drip down the length. itâs long, the kind of length that makes your thighs press together instinctively, wondering how heâll fit, but the heat pooling low in your stomach burns hotter, overriding any hesitation.
his hand wraps around it, and he strokes himself slowly, his thumb swiping over the head to collect the wetness there. the motion is deliberate, almost lazy, and the soft groan he lets out sends a shiver down your spine.
youâre staringâyou know you areâand he notices, his lips curving into a wicked grin as his eyes flick up to meet yours.
âdonât worry, baby,â he murmurs, his voice low and teasing as he leans forward, the head of his cock brushing against your folds, slick and hot. âiâll make it fit.â
his words send a shiver through you, his voice low and dripping with confidence. the weight of his cock against your folds, hot and heavy, is enough to make your hips twitch instinctively, chasing the friction. but he doesnât push in right awayâof course he doesnât. instead, he drags the head up and down your slick, letting it catch on your clit with every pass, teasing you until youâre squirming beneath him.
âsatoru,â you whimper, your nails digging into his shoulders. youâre not above begging at this point. âplease.â
his grin widens, his head dipping to press a kiss to the corner of your mouth. âwhatâs the rush, baby? weâve got all night.â
âsatoru,â you repeat, more insistently this time, and he groans at the sound of his name on your lips, his cock twitching against you.
âfuck,â he mutters, his voice tight now, losing some of that smug edge. âyou sound so pretty when you beg.â
he lines himself up, his hand still wrapped around the base as he presses the head against your entrance. the stretch is immediate, a sharp, overwhelming mix of pleasure and pressure as he pushes in slowly, inch by inch.
âholy shit,â he breathes, his voice rough as his head falls forward, his hair brushing against your cheek. âyouâre so fucking tight.â
your fingers clutch at his shoulders, your breath catching as he sinks deeper, the fullness stealing every coherent thought from your mind. he pauses halfway, his free hand sliding up to cup your jaw, tilting your face toward his.
âyou okay?â he asks, and thereâs something softer in his voice now, his eyes scanning your face for any sign of discomfort.
you nod, your voice shaky as you answer. âyeah. justâkeep going.â
his jaw tightens, and he exhales slowly, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before he starts to move again. every inch feels impossibly deep, your walls stretching around him, and when he finally bottoms out, you both pause, your breaths mingling as you try to adjust.
âfuck,â he groans again, his voice strained as his hips twitch against yours. âyou feel so good. better than i everââ he cuts himself off with a shaky laugh, shaking his head. âshit, youâre perfect.â
you can barely respond, the stretch and fullness leaving you trembling. but then he starts to move, pulling out almost entirely before sliding back in with a slow, deliberate roll of his hips. the drag of his cock against your walls is enough to have you moaning, your head falling back against the pillow.
âthatâs it,â he murmurs, his voice rough and approving as he sets a steady rhythm. âgood girl. taking me so well.â
your hands trail down his back, your nails scraping lightly against his skin, and the groan he lets out sends a fresh wave of heat through you. his movements quicken, the sound of skin against skin filling the room, and every thrust has him hitting that perfect spot deep inside you, making you cry out.
âsatoruââ his name falls from your lips again, and he leans down, his teeth grazing your neck as he thrusts harder, deeper.
âyouâre gonna make me lose my fucking mind,â he growls, his hands gripping your hips tighter, holding you in place as he drives into you. âyou feel so goodâso fucking perfect for me.â
the coil in your stomach tightens with every roll of his hips, the pressure building higher and higher until itâs unbearable. his thumb finds your clit, rubbing in tight circles that make your vision blur, and your moans grow louder, more desperate.
âcome for me,â he demands, his voice rough and low in your ear. âlet me feel you.â
the command sends you over the edge. your orgasm rips through you, your body arching into his as you cry out, his name spilling from your lips like a prayer. your walls clench around him, and the sensation makes him groan, his thrusts growing erratic as he chases his own release.
âfuckââ he gasps, burying himself as deep as he can go as he comes, the heat of him spilling into you, thick and warm. his head falls to your shoulder, his breath ragged against your skin as he rides out the last waves of pleasure.
the room is quiet except for the sound of your heavy breathing, the air thick and charged as he finally pulls back, his weight pressing into you as he collapses onto the bed beside you. his arm slides around your waist, pulling you against his chest as he presses a soft, lazy kiss to your temple.
âtold you iâd make it fit,â he murmurs, his voice still rough, but thereâs a hint of smugness there, his lips curving into a small grin.
you canât help the laugh that escapes you, your body still trembling against his. âyouâre such an asshole.â
âyeah,â he agrees, his tone light, teasing, as he brushes a strand of hair from your face. âbut you like it.â
you roll your eyes, but thereâs no heat to it, your lips curving into a faint smile as you bury your face against his chest. âshut up, satoru.â
ânever,â he replies, and the warmth of his laughter vibrates through you, grounding you as your breaths slowly even out.

same anon as before ,, to add on ^^ i like to imagine cheol tries putting off getting pussydrunk as much as he can to teach a lesson but canât help it after eight minutes and GETS INTO ITTTT like he gets sloppy and forgets whatever lesson he had the intention of doing so quick
âyou literally turn into a crazy person when you eat me out, you know that?â you say to him one night after heâs cleaned you up of all the sweat, spit and cum you were stained with.
âhuh? do i?â he asks, pouting.
âyeah, like youâre drunk or something,â you giggle.
âi do not,â he argues, eyes wide. âi eat you out like perfectly normal boyfriend should.â
âhey, itâs not like i said youâre bad at it! because youâre not. at all. itâs just like⌠you lose all your senses from eating pussy.â
youâre not sure why itâs so insulting to him when you meant it as a mere observation, but for some reason he sulks and pouts even as you kiss him all over his face and say goodnight, and until the moment heâs asleep.
he decides to eat you out on the sofa the next evening as a thank you for cooking a delicious dinner, but the second he puts his mouth on you, he feels off. heâs slow and gentle, giving soft licks and kisses to your clit, and if it were anyone but seungcheol it would feel tender and sweet.
you wonder if he knows heâs getting nowhere closer to your edge. maybe youâre too spoiled, because itâs not like heâs doing a bad jobâheâs focused most of all on your clit. itâs just⌠too⌠slow.
âcheollie, more,â you whine, knowing just what kind of effect that nickname has on him when itâs in your sweet voice.
of course, within mere minutes, heâs abandoning all hope of being tame. you like to think the taste of your cum has some ability to drive him insane, though it could also be the way you moan his name and pull his hair that inflates his ego when he sucks on your clit.
itâs not long before seungcheol makes a mess of you like he always does, like youâre used to. two of his fingers scissor your walls open as a mix of arousal and saliva drips down your thighs and straight onto the couch. usually he puts a towel down, but in his pursuit of proving you âwrongâ he decided to forgo it.
finally, you cum, with your eyes locked on his hazy, half-lidded ones. droplets of you glisten on his pale skin and when he pulls away his swollen lips curl into a loopy grin.
âexplain yourself, seungcheol,â you breathe after a moment, fighting the urge to smack him for trying to go easy on you. or whatever that was. âcould have fooled me into thinking it was your first time giving someone head.â
seungcheol laughs, wiping your arousal off his face with the back of his hand as his cheeks burn up. âi kept thinking about the thing you said yesterday and⌠i see what you mean now.â

i used to listen to their podcast but am not in the fandom right now so not knowing i went to watch the clip in question and, well, this whole situation is so frustrating. Because yes, he may be kinda cringe sometimes and is personally my least favourite of them, but the rant was actually good i belive.or at least. understandable. like; yes he frased things in a awkward way maybe but he was correct. when playing a social game like werewolfs, mafia or indeed among us voting for someone just to troll them when they are deeply invested in a game can be so infuriating (i for example wouldn't want to play with that group anymore). like. we are all playing play pretend why are you bullying me for being invested in the game. nobody would have this reaction to him having this rant if some random shit happened in their ttrpg campaign that was bad for his character and they made it canon "because it was funny and just a game and why are you so invested in this bro". and even worse he cant walk away from the game without explanation in that moment because he's on stream and playing games with people is literally what hes in that moment there to do. idk maybe i also get too invested in these kind of games so i relate to this reaction, even if i agree with people that calling someone a Bad Person for playing the game wrong is out of touch with reality. I also belive that his blood was boiling and everyone was laughing and he (like others said) had a meltdown and generalising the situation was the only way to explain to people (and maybe himself) the reaction he was having
really fucking sucks that the catalyst for the mcelroy brothers' "downfall" was when one of them *checks notes* displayed symptoms of the mental illness he was very open about, in a way that was deeply embarrassing but ultimately pretty harmless

Wildly Wealthy Koreans (1); inspired by Crazy Rich Asians
Pairing:Â Jungkook x (f.) Reader
Genre/Tags:Â photographer/ filmmaker! jungkook, rich girl/ fashion designer! reader, established relationship, angst, fluff, potential smut
Word Count: 6.6k+
Series summary:Â When you invite your boyfriend, Jungkook, to accompany you to your brother's wedding in your hometown, Daegu, heâs overjoyed, eager to meet your family and experience a side of your life youâve never shared with him. However, once he uncovers the truth about who you really are, heâs unable to grasp the full extent of your reality. The situation becomes even more complicated when a certain someone makes him feel profoundly unwelcome, leaving him to question not only your world, but also his place in it.
Disclaimer: This series is heavily inspired by the movie Crazy Rich Asians, with the storyline closely following the original film's plot. However, I wanted to reimagine it as a fanfiction, where Jungkook and OC take center stage as the main protagonists. While Iâve kept the core elements and themes from the movie, Iâve added my own touches here and there, such as altering certain character dynamics and incorporating a few original settings. Some scenes are directly inspired by the movie, and Iâve worked to recreate them in a way that it hopefully resonates with the fans of the movie. Hope you enjoy!!
Chapter Warnings: nothing major for now, lmk if i should add anything.
A/N: okay so after much thought, I decided to write this fic because Crazy Rich Asians is, without a doubt, my ultimate comfort movie. I literally rewatch it every chance I get because there's just something about the vibes, the story, and the characters that I can never move on from. Thatâs exactly why I wanted to create my own little version of it, with Jungkook as the main character. let me know your thoughts and tell me if this is worth continuing. also should i make a taglist for this?
part 1
Jungkook sits in the dimly lit corner of the restaurant, his fingers absently tracing the rim of his water glass. The soft hum of classical music mingles with the low chatter of the people around, but none of it distracts him from the bubbling anticipation inside as he waits for you.
Itâs been four months since the two of you had officially started dating, and though you guys had been cautious about defining what you meant to each other, these past months have solidified everything for him. You arenât just someone he likes... youâre someone who makes his world brighter in ways he never thought possible.
New York has been his home for years now, but it didnât always feel that way. When he abruptly moved here with his mom during high school, he reluctantly traded the familiar streets of Busan and the ocean breeze he grew up with for the city that never sleeps.
The move was sudden, jarring even, but over time, he adjusted. The city shaped him, sharpening his edges and teaching him resilience. Now, heâs built a life here, chasing his passion for storytelling as a photographer and documentary filmmaker, capturing untold stories that deserve to be heard.
Life was peaceful... steady, even. And then you walked in and turned everything upside down, in a good way.
He met you almost a year ago, purely by chance. He was documenting behind-the-scenes moments at a charity gala, a commission he almost didnât take, when you appeared, orchestrating the chaos of models, designs, and flashing cameras like the professional powerhouse you are.
You were magnetic, the kind of person who commanded attention without even trying. Jungkook watched from behind his lens, capturing candid moments until one of your colleagues introduced him to you.
âAh, so youâre the genius behind the lens.â you teased, offering a hand. âIâm Y/N, the one responsible for the clothes youâre immortalizing.â
Your confidence threw him off guard, but what stayed with him was your laugh... so soft and so genuine, the kind that lingers in his mind long after the event ends.
What followed after was a series of serendipitous run-insâan art exhibit here, a mutual friendâs dinner there. Each meeting peeled back another layer of who you are, until he realized he was utterly captivated.
Now, as he waits for you to arrive tonight, Jungkook canât help but think of how far the two of you have come. A lot can change in a year, he thinks. His lips tug into a small smile at the thought of your teasing voice, your quick wit, the way you light up every room you enter. Youâve become the best part of his life, and for the first time in years, he feels genuinely happy.
The sound of heels clicking against the polished floor pulls him out of his thoughts. He looks up, and there you are. You wear a soft pink dress that hugs your form perfectly, your hair framing your face in a way that makes his heart skip. When your eyes meet his, you smile instantly, and Jungkook feels his pulse quicken.
âSorry Iâm late.â you say as you reach the table, placing your bag on the chair as you watch him pull out the chair for you. âI got caught up at work.â you say, taking a seat.
âNo need to apologize.â he says warmly, going back to his side of the table. âYouâre here now and you look... incredible.â
You roll your eyes playfully, though your cheeks betray you with a faint flush. âSays the guy who looks like he just walked out of a GQ spread.â you giggle.
âOnly because I knew Iâd be sitting across from you.â he shoots back with a grin. You laugh, shaking your head as you push a strand of hair behind your ear. âFlirt.â
The conversation flows as effortlessly as always, a mix of updates about your respective work lives and lighthearted banter. You tell him about the chaos of coordinating last-minute changes for an upcoming fashion week, while he shares stories from his recent project, a documentary highlighting immigrant artists in the city.
But midway through dinner, he notices a shift in your demeanor. Your laughter softens, and you begin fiddling with the edge of your napkin, a subtle sign of nerves heâs come to recognize.
Jungkook leans forward slightly, resting his hand gently over yours. âYou okay?â he asks, his tone soft but laced with concern. You glance up at him, hesitating for a moment before nodding. âYeah, Iâm fine. Just... thereâs something I wanted to talk to you about.â
His brow furrows slightly, but his touch remains steady, reassuring. âIâm all ears.â
You take a deep breath, your gaze flicking between him and the table as you speak. âSo, um... in three weeks, my brother is getting married. The weddingâs in Daegu, my hometown and my whole family's planning.. all these... these events leading up to it, and...â You pause, mustering the courage to meet his eyes. âand Iâd really like you to come... with me.â
Jungkook blinks, momentarily caught off guard. Youâve rarely spoken about your family during your time together. All he knows is that you have an older brother whose name is Kim Taehyung, and that your work keeps you far from home. Youâve always been reserved when it comes to personal matters, and he never pushed, understanding that some things take time to share.
âYou want me to meet your family?â he asks, his voice careful but touched with wonder.
You nod, your fingers curling slightly under his. âI know itâs a big step, but... youâre important to me, Jungkook. I want you to know them and I want them to know you... and i just.... I just want you to be there.â
His heart swells at your words, a warmth spreading through his chest that he hasnât felt in years. He squeezes your hand gently, a soft smile curving his lips. âOf course Iâll go.â he says, his voice steady and full of certainty. âThank you for asking me. This means a lot, Y/N.â
You exhale, relief washing over your features as your lips tug into a smile. âYou have no idea how nervous I was to bring it up.â
âWell, you donât have to be nervous about anything when it comes to me.â he says, his tone teasing but sincere. âThough... should I be nervous about meeting your family? Any tips I need to survive?â
You laugh, the tension melting away as his words reassure you. âJust be yourself. Theyâll love you... I hope.â
âTheyâd be crazy not to.â he grins, his confidence laced with a playful charm.
As the conversation moves forward, Jungkook canât shake the weight of what youâve just shared. This isnât just an invitation... itâs a glimpse into the part of your world youâve kept hidden. And he knows, without a doubt, that he wants to be part of it.
//
The three weeks seem to blur together for Jungkook, filled with excitement, planning, and the growing anticipation of returning to Korea. Now, heâs standing just outside the bustling airport, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his jacket, glancing at the crowd for any sign of you. He knows youâll be here soon with the tickets, and just the thought of seeing you has a smile tugging at his lips.
Itâs been years since he last visited Korea, and the idea of going back stirs up a mix of emotions... nostalgia, eagerness, and a tinge of nervousness. But it isnât just your family heâs excited to meet... he canât stop thinking about reuniting with Yoongi, an old friend from his university days.
Jungkook remembers how they first met. Yoongi, fresh from Daegu, adapting to the fast pace of New York, with a wit and humor that made their friendship click instantly. They spent countless nights bonding over shared meals and dreams, but after Yoongi finished his studies and returned to Korea, they lost touch. Now, the opportunity to see him again feels like a bonus to this trip.
When Jungkook had mentioned that he'd be visiting Daegu for a short trip to Yoongi during a rare phone call, Yoongi had insisted, âYou better visit me for lunch or dinner the second you land, Jeon. Iâll be waiting.â It had been less of an invitation and more of a command and a promise Jungkook fully intends to keep.
His thoughts are interrupted when he spots you approaching with your suitcase. Your face lights up the moment your eyes meet, and Jungkook feels his heart lift as he strides forward to greet you. He pulls you into a hug, planting a soft kiss on your lips, his familiar warmth seeping into you.
âYou ready for this?â you ask, your grin contagious. âWith you? Always.â he affirms easily, grabbing your suitcase to lighten your load as the two of you head towards security.
After passing through the usual chaos of airport checks, you finally board the plane. Jungkook trails closely behind, his eyes scanning the rows of economy seats, prepared to settle in for the long flight. But you keep walking, breezing past one row after another, heading towards the front of the plane.
âY/N...â he calls softly, a frown of confusion crossing his features. âI think we passed our seats.â You barely glance back, simply motioning for him to follow with a playful wave of your hand. âJust trust me, Kook.â
Jungkookâs confusion only grows as you step into the business class section. His steps slow as he takes in his surroundings... the stark difference from the cramped seats in economy hits him instantly. Business class looks like another world.
The seats are spacious, arranged in private compartments with high partitions for privacy. The lighting is soft and ambient, with a warm golden glow that feels more like a cozy lounge than an airplane cabin. Flight attendants move quietly through the aisles, offering passengers drinks and handing out fancy pajama sets.
Jungkookâs jaw drops as he watches you casually slide into one of the luxurious seats, making yourself comfortable. He hurries forward, his voice incredulous. âY/N, this is business class... Our seats arenât here!â
You look up at him with a calm smile, gesturing to the seat beside yours. âThey gave me an upgrade.â you say simply, patting the spot for him to sit. His eyes narrow in confusion as he sets down his bag. âUpgrade? Can we even afford this?â he asks, using his hands to gesture towards the private compartment.
You laugh lightly, already reclining your seat with the touch of a button. âRelax, Kook. My family has some business ties with the airline. Itâs just a little perk.â (Nick Young coded girlfriend)
âA little perk?â he repeats, his voice full of disbelief as he finally sits down. He presses a button on the armrest, watching in awe as the seat reclines into a flatbed. âY/N, this isnât a perk... this is a dream. Look at this place! Itâs like a five-star hotel in the air.â
You grin, watching his childlike amazement as he fiddles with every feature. "I donât know if Iâll ever be able to go back to economy class now...that feels like a distant nightmare.â
A flight attendant approaches with a tray of pre-departure champagne, offering the glasses with a polite smile. Jungkook accepts one hesitantly, holding it up like it might break. âChampagne? On a plane? This is insane.â he continues.
You can't help but giggle at his cuteness as you casually take a sip from your glass as if itâs the most natural thing in the world.
As the plane prepares for takeoff, Jungkook leans back in his seat, still marveling at the luxurious surroundings. He sneaks another glance at you, the contentment on your face making his heart swell. This trip is already shaping up to be unforgettable, and it hasnât even truly started yet.
//
Jungkook feels the weight of your pout pressed against his chest as you stand in his arms, his hands gently brushing through your hair in a comforting motion. He canât help but smile softly, though he feels the tiniest tug at his heart seeing you so disappointed.
He knew this lunch with Yoongi was important, and he knew you understood... at least, logically. But seeing the way you looked at him, that little furrow between your brows, made him feel a little guilty. âItâs just lunch, baby.â he says, his voice soothing, brushing his thumb gently over your cheek.
âI promised him, and he never takes no for an answer.â He chuckles softly, but his smile fades when he feels the reluctance in your grip on him.
You knew he had plans with Yoongi the moment you touched down in Daegu. You had known this from the start, had heard about the lunch plan in passing, but that didnât make the feeling any easier to shake.
The thought of him going off without you, to catch up with an old friend while you drove home alone, kind of made you sad. You were fully aware of the importance of this lunch, but that didnât stop the tiny selfish part of you from wishing heâd be with you, just for a little while longer.
âI know...â you murmur, your voice betraying the tiny bit of sulk in your tone, but you try to let it go. You werenât going to hold him back. "Fine." you finally say, pulling back to meet his gaze.
And the way he looks at you affectionately makes you feel like youâve won some small victory. âBut...â you add with a little smile. âI expect you to be at my place at 7. You know my grandmaâs having that traditional tea ceremony thing and I promised her I was bringing someone special home.â
His eyes light up at your words, the thought of joining you for something so important and so personal. âOf course.â he replies without hesitation, his voice earnest. âI wouldnât dream of missing it.â
You smile softly, knowing he means it. And yet, despite his assurances, you canât shake the lingering feeling of missing him. Just a little. Before you can dwell on it too much, you hear a voice break through the moment.
âMs. Kim.â
You turn, blinking a little in surprise as your driver steps forward, his presence bringing a sudden rush of formality to the otherwise intimate moment. âThe car is here.â he states matter-of-factly, and you know that this is your cue to part ways.
You sigh softly, reluctantly loosening your hold around Jungkookâs waist, but not without giving him one last lingering look. Your lips curl in a pout, but you try to hide it behind the gentle smile you offer him.
âOkay thenâŚâ you start, your voice trailing off as you look at him, uncertainty settling in your chest. âIâll see you soon?â The question hangs in the air, like a promise and a plea all at once.
Jungkook watches you for a moment, that familiar ache in his chest growing stronger as he sees the hint of vulnerability in your eyes. But then his lips curl upward, soft but sincere. âOf course, baby. Iâll be there. I love you.â His words are steady, and his eyes hold something deeper than just affection... something unwavering.
You nod quickly, feeling a mix of relief and longing. âI love you too.â you whisper back before turning away, following your driver towards the airport's exit.
Jungkook watches you walk away, his heart heavy in his chest, the pang of guilt creeping up again. He promises himself to make it up to you later. Now, he just needed to get through lunch with Yoongi.
But as soon as the sound of your footsteps fades and you disappear from his sight, his phone buzzes in his pocket. The familiar name on the screen catches his attention, and he answers without a second thought. âHey, Mom.â
Her voice crackles through the line, warm but concerned. âHello Jungkook-ah, I just wanted to check in. You landed safely?â she asks.
Jungkook listens to his momâs voice on the other end of the line, the familiar warmth making him smile despite the anxiousness he feels about whatâs ahead. Heâs about to step into a world thatâs so different from New York, where heâs spent most of his adult life. But now, back in Korea, things feel unfamiliar in a way that both excites and intimidates him.
âYes, Ma... I landed a while ago.â he answers, feeling a small wave of relief hearing her voice. âThatâs good, honey... Howâs Y/N?â she asks with that gentle concern she always has for the people he cares about.
âSheâs good. She just left though, and Iâm waiting for Yoongi to come pick me up.â he replies, smiling softly as he instantly thinks of you. âHow does it feel to be back in Korea?â he hears his mom question, her tone soft but curious.
He smiles, leaning against the nearest pillar with his luggage beside him as he waits for Yoongi. âSo far, so good, but Iâm still at the airport, so I canât say much.â he jokes. His mom lets out a quiet laugh, the sound comforting.
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she switches to a more serious tone. âRemember what I told you, Kook... Stay put there. You know how it is in Korea... with the elders and the... the people. Itâs very different from here, so please take care with what you say and how you say it.â
Itâs a reminder heâs heard before, but hearing it again feels heavier now that heâs here, about to meet your family and step into a culture thatâs rooted in tradition and respect, something thatâs been passed down for generations.
Jungkookâs smile falters for a moment as he nods, even though she canât see him. He knows exactly what she means. Heâs always been more carefree, more western in his ways of expressing himself, and in Korea, especially when it comes to elders, thereâs a deep respect for hierarchy and custom thatâs different from what heâs generally used to.
âI know, Ma. Iâll keep everything in mind.â he assures her, his voice more serious now. âYouâre not a kid anymore, Kook, but just... be mindful, okay? Donât let them misunderstand your intentions. I just want you to be careful.â Her voice softens with motherly concern, and Jungkook feels his heart warm.
âI will. I promise.â he replies, knowing that this trip, meeting your family... itâs more important than ever to prove to them that heâs not just another guy in the city.... heâs not just your boyfriend. He wants to show them how serious he is about you and the future you guys could have together.
He glances around at the busy terminal, the buzz of passengers and the distant announcements. It all feels so different from New York. So... foreign. But heâll make it through. Heâs used to adapting. And this, he tells himself, is just the beginning.
âAlright, Kook... you take care, yeah?â she says. Jungkook hums. "I will. Bye, Ma." he replies back and soon, the call ends.
Just as Jungkook tucks his phone back into his pocket, he hears a deafening roar that cuts through the murmur of the airport. The unmistakable sound of an engine revving... loud, aggressive, and powerful, draws his attention immediately.
His head snaps to the right, eyes scanning the street. His gaze locks onto a sleek purple Lamborghini, its engine purring with a force that vibrates the ground beneath him as it races towards him.
Jungkookâs brows furrow, an instinctive suspicion flickering across his face as the car approaches. Heâs not sure why, but something feels⌠off, or rather, intriguing. The car comes to an abrupt halt right in front of him, the tires squealing as they grip the asphalt. Jungkook freezes, blinking in disbelief.
The tinted window slowly rolls down, and for a moment, everything seems to move in slow motion. When the driverâs face comes into view, Jungkookâs heart skips a beat. âYoongi?!â he exclaims, his voice tinged with utter shock and disbelief.
Yoongi grins, that familiar mischievous glint in his eyes. âAinât no way...â Jungkook mutters under his breath, still processing the surreal sight of Yoongi sitting behind the wheel of a car that looks like it belongs to someone straight out of a high-stakes action movie. Yoongi chuckles, clearly amused by Jungkookâs reaction.
âWhatâs good, my man? Meet my baby.â Yoongi says with a sly smirk, his fingers casually tracing the contours of the steering wheel like this car was just an everyday ride for him.
Jungkookâs mouth hangs open in awe. He canât remember the last time he was this speechless. The purple Lamborghini gleams under the streetlights, its polished surface reflecting the neon glow of the airport. Jungkookâs eyes follow every curve, every sharp angle, as if seeing it in person is somehow more unreal than he could have ever imagined.
Yoongi, clearly unfazed by the wide-eyed look Jungkook is giving him, steps out of the car with an effortless swagger. Heâs dressed in an oversized, silk button-up shirt that drapes over his frame in a relaxed way.
The half-sleeves of the shirt billow out just above his elbows, adding a laid-back yet refined touch to his look. Paired with the shirt are matching shorts that reach just below his knees, the material soft and flowy, almost weightless.
Around his neck, a thick silver chain glints in the sunlight, its boldness standing out against the simplicity of his outfit, giving him an air of casual but undeniable wealth.
Without a word, he grabs Jungkookâs luggage from the ground and begins loading it into the trunk of his car.
Jungkook snaps out of his daze and watches him, still trying to wrap his head around the situation. âGet in, dude." Yoongi laughs with a nudge to Jungkookâs shoulder, his tone light, almost playful, as he walks back around to the driverâs side.
Jungkook slides into the plush passenger seat, still feeling like heâs stepped into another world. The interior of the Lamborghini is unlike anything heâs ever experienced. As his eyes roam around, Jungkook canât help but feel like heâs in a dream.
Every inch of the car screams excess, sophistication, and unspoken wealth. The steering wheel is trimmed in carbon fiber, the gearshift feels solid in Yoongiâs hand, and everything seems perfectly engineered, like it was crafted for the few who could afford such a ride.
Yoongi starts the engine with a smooth hum, and Jungkook jerks his head towards him, still shocked. "You never told me you had a Lamborghini." he says, his voice betraying his disbelief.
Yoongi just laughs, his eyes glancing briefly at Jungkook before focusing back on the road. "Well, that's because I didnât have this back in university." he shrugs nonchalantly, a casual smirk playing on his lips. The car pulls smoothly out of the airport, its engine growling like a beast waking up.
Jungkook stares at him, still processing everything. "But wow, dude? You hit the lottery or something? This car is insane." he breathes out. Yoongi chuckles again but doesnât answer, as if the question doesnât deserve a response.
The city of Daegu blurs by outside the tinted windows, the sun reflecting off the glass as they drive deeper into the heart of the city. Jungkook can feel the rhythm of the drive, the perfect balance between speed and luxury, as the Lamborghini effortlessly weaves through traffic, its engine purring in a low, contented hum.
The sound of the tires on the road and the occasional rumble of the carâs exhaust fill the silence between them as they talk. Their conversation drifts to more casual topics... catching up on life after university, their mutual friends, and everything in between. Jungkook listens intently, but something about the ride and everything else, still has him on edge.
Then, suddenly, the city streets begin to change. The hustle and bustle of downtown Daegu fades away, replaced by quiet, tree-lined roads and grand, gated estates. Jungkook furrows his brows in confusion. The mansions are larger than anything heâs ever seen.
Multi-story buildings with sprawling lawns, perfectly manicured gardens, and tall gates that exude old money. The kind of money that felt untouchable, like a world heâd never thought heâd be a part of.
Yoongi slows the car as they approach a massive set of gates, gleaming with metal and ornate designs. They pause for a moment, and Jungkook watches as the gates swing open effortlessly, granting them access to enter.
Jungkookâs eyes widen even more as they drive in, the long, curved driveway leading them deeper into the estate. The mansion that comes into view is nothing short of breathtaking. Itâs grand and set against the backdrop of lush trees, with a modern yet classic architectural style.
The house gleams under the afternoon sunlight, its windows large and open, letting the soft glow of interior lights spill out into the day. As they pass by, Jungkook canât help but notice the impressive collection of cars parked near the house, each one more expensive than the last.
Thereâs a black Rolls-Royce Phantom, a gleaming Ferrari 488, a silver Porsche 911 Turbo, and a sleek Aston Martin DB11, all parked in perfect alignment, as if they belong to the same elite circle. The cars shine brightly in the afternoon sun, their polished surfaces reflecting the elegance of the estate.
Jungkookâs mouth hangs open, his mind racing to catch up with the reality unfolding around him. Heâs never seen anything like this in his life. "What is this⌠What is this place?" he breathes out, his voice almost reverent, like heâs stumbled into a world that doesnât seem real.
Yoongiâs smirk is still there, a knowing glint in his eyes as he pulls the car to a stop, right in front of the grand entrance of the beautiful mansion. He looks over at Jungkook, his tone casual but with a hint of pride. "Welcome to my crib, Kook." he says.
Jungkook's mouth open, words just stuck in the middle of his throat. His mind is still processing everything, the scene outside seeming like a surreal dream. This is all too much to take in.
Yoongi was RICH rich and he didn't have a single clue about it. As they step out of the car, Jungkook notices a man approaching swiftly towards them and by the looks of his attire, it's clear that he's a guard.
Without missing a beat, Yoongi tosses his car keys at him, and the man catches them with practiced ease. "He'll grab your luggage in a bit." Yoongi says casually, already heading towards the mansion's entrance. Jungkook, still processing whatever the hell this is, follows him like a lost child, unable to do anything but take in the overwhelming sight that surrounds him.
The moment they step inside the house, Jungkook's eyes widen, but before he can even begin to appreciate the stunningly opulent interiors like marble floors or the high ceilings or the glistening chandeliers, a shrill voice cuts through the air. "Yoon, you're hereeee!"
Jungkookâs brow furrows as he watches a woman, probably in her 50s, stand right in front of them. Sheâs dressed in a chic, over-the-top outfit... a silk floral blouse with exaggerated puffed sleeves, tailored trousers, and a lavish pearl necklace that gleams with the faintest hint of arrogance.
Her perfectly styled hair is in a tight updo, and in her arms, she cradles a fluffy kitten, which sheâs stroking affectionately, completely oblivious to Jungkook's stunned expression.
Yoongi barely reacts, his face giving away nothing as he responds, "Yes, mom." with a tone that suggests this is nothing out of the ordinary. Without hesitation, he gestures towards Jungkook, whoâs still very much amused. âThis is Jungkook, a friend from New York.â he introduces calmly.
She steps closer to Jungkook, her eyes widening as she takes in his appearance. "Such a handsome face." she says with a bright smile, fluttering her lashes dramatically. Jungkook feels his ears turn red, but tries to mask it with a polite smile.
"Come, come, why are you still standing by the door?" she continues in a sing-song voice, already turning towards the grand dining hall. "Lunch is just about to be served."
Without waiting for a response, she leads them through the sprawling corridor, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor. Jungkook follows, still processing the luxury surrounding him.
As they enter the enormous dining room, the sheer size of the table takes his breath away. It looks like something straight out of a royal palace, with intricately carved wood and sparkling silverware laid out meticulously. Seated around the table are five people, two men, a woman, and two little girls. The air feels heavy with formality and expectation.
Yoongi, noticing Jungkook's distracted gaze, gestures towards each person with casual confidence. "That's my dad." he says, pointing to the middle-aged man sitting at the center of the table who gives Jungkook a bright smile, as he nods acknowledging his presence.
"That's my brother, Geumjae." Yoongi continues, nodding towards the younger man seated to the left. Geumjae has the same sharp features as Yoongi, and he cheerfully waves at Jungkook. "Yooo." he says.
Next, Yoongi points at a woman sitting beside him. "That's his wife, Chaeri." he adds, the warmth in his voice making it clear they have a close bond. "And those are his daughters, Minji and Yuna." he finishes, gesturing to the two little girls sitting next to each other as they giggle shyly to themselves.
Jungkook nods politely at everyone, his nerves creeping in as he takes in the situation. Yoongi's family seems very welcoming, but he's still extremely nervous. Heâs not used to this kind of environment, and it shows, but he quickly remembers his manners. He straightens up and gives a right-angled bow, a gesture of respect that his mother taught him for situations like this.
"Hello, Iâm Jungkook." he says, his voice steady but laced with a slight hint of uncertainty. He smiles warmly at them, hoping his attempt at a formal greeting isnât too awkward.
Jungkook feels a shift in the atmosphere as Yoongi's father lets out a hearty laugh. "Yahh, no need to be so formal." he chuckles, waving a hand dismissively.
"Come, take a seat before the food gets cold." His voice is warm and inviting, making Jungkook relax a little. Geumjae, his brother, nods in agreement. Jungkook looks at Yoongi, unsure, but Yoongi simply gives him a small shrug and gestures for him to sit.
They both take their seats, followed by Yoongiâs mother, who settles herself gracefully at the table. Jungkook glances around, noticing the opulence of the setting... the gleaming china plates, the glistening silver cutlery, the rich aroma of the food filling the air. He feels a bit out of place but tries to steady himself, taking in the high-end cuisine laid out before him.
Once everyone is served, Jungkookâs mind races for a moment as he looks at the elaborate dishes in front of him. Heâs unsure where to begin, not used to this kind of extravagant meal. Itâs all so foreign to him, but before he can pick up his chopsticks, Yoongiâs father breaks the silence.
"So, what brings you here, Jungkook?" he asks, his deep voice cutting through the air with curiosity. Jungkook swallows his nerves before answering.
"Oh, Iâm... Iâm here with my girlfriend for her brotherâs wedding." he replies politely, hoping his words donât come out too awkwardly.
"Wedding, huh?" Yoongi chimes in from beside him, raising an eyebrow. Jungkook simply nods in acknowledgment, hoping the conversation will shift.
"So this is your girlfriendâs hometown?" Geumjae asks, his voice calm but probing.
"Yes." Jungkook confirms with a small smile, relieved to stick with the easy part of the conversation. "But damn, dude, when did you get a girlfriend? The last time I remembered, you were afraid to even approach girls in university." Yoongi teases, a smirk on his lips.
Jungkook freezes for a moment, feeling a flush of discomfort rise in his chest. The comment feels casual, but the atmosphere around him is so formal that it catches him off guard. He glances around the table, noticing that everyone is relaxed and waiting for him to answer, as if this were a normal part of their dinner conversation. He takes a breath and tries to steady himself.
"Well... I wasnât really afraid to approach them." he says, carefully choosing his words. "I just had other things to focus on." He offers a half smile, hoping to deflect the attention.
Yoongi chuckles, clearly amused, but doesnât push any further. "What did you say her name was again?" he asks, his tone light.
"Oh... itâs Y/n." Jungkook replies, a smile creeping onto his face as he thinks about you. Just saying your name makes him feel warm inside, and he canât help but let a soft grin escape.
"Y/n?" Yoongiâs mother repeats, her brows furrowing slightly, as though the name is familiar but somehow surprising. Jungkook tilts his head, not fully understanding the change in her tone.
He nods, confirming with a small smile. "Yes, Kim Y/n. Thatâs her name."
The sudden shift in the room is palpable. Yoongiâs motherâs eyes widen, and her voice grows louder, almost demanding. "You mean... Kim Y/n?" she repeats, her tone now sharp, causing everyone at the table to freeze. The clinking of silverware stops as if time itself has paused.
Jungkook blinks in confusion. He can feel the weight of their collective gaze on him, a tension that wasnât there before. "Yes, Kim Y/n. Thatâs her name." he says, his voice firmer this time, trying to keep his composure. He doesnât understand why your name is causing such a stir, but he can sense something is off.
"Dude... the Y/n youâre dating is... Kim Y/n?" Yoongiâs voice is incredulous, his eyebrows raised in surprise. He leans back in his chair, almost scoffing in disbelief.
Jungkookâs confusion deepens. He looks at Yoongi, eyebrows furrowed. "Uh... yeah? You know her or something?" he asks, still trying to piece together the odd shift in the conversation.
Geumjae chuckles, clearly intrigued. "Who doesn't?" he replies. Jungkook furrows his brows, still lost. "What is that supposed to mean?" he asks, his voice laced with perplexity.
Before anyone can respond, Yoongiâs motherâs face lights up with a sudden realization. "Wait, wait, wait, so the wedding you're here for... it's... it's Taehyung's, isnât it? Itâs Kim Taehyungâs wedding!" She beams, her expression a mix of surprise and excitement, as if the revelation is the most obvious thing in the world.
Jungkookâs mind races. Heâs still trying to connect the dots, but the sheer shock on Yoongiâs motherâs face throws him off balance and he wonders how she knows that information. "How... How do you know that?" he asks, still trying to process everything.
Before anyone can answer, Yoongi shifts in his seat, leaning slightly towards Jungkook, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Dude... do you have any idea.... who your girlfriend is?" Yoongi asks, the question hanging in the air like a bombshell.
Jungkookâs mouth opens and closes, not understanding the gravity of the situation. His mind struggles to keep up, but he can't seem to make sense of the turn this conversation has taken. "What?" he asks, still confused. "Why... why are you asking me that?"
Yoongi leans back in his chair, his eyes narrowing as if heâs just realized something monumental. "Dude... do you know who 'The Kims' are?? You're dating someone from 'The Kims'. That is literally insane." he states, his voice filled with disbelief.
He looks at Jungkook, half-amused, half-shocked, but when he still notices the utter confusion on his friend's face, his expression softens slightly. Yoongi leans in and places both hands on Jungkook's shoulders, trying to help him process the information.
"Dude, 'The Kims' are one of the most influential families in all of Daegu. Hell, in all of Korea." Yoongiâs voice is filled with a mixture of awe as he continues.
"They own so many companies, itâs insane. From massive real estate ventures, luxury hotels, tech firms, and even a few major pharmaceutical companies, theyâre basically untouchable. Every major industry you can think of, 'The Kims' have their fingers in it." He leans back again, his hands still on Jungkook's shoulders, clearly enjoying his friend's stunned reaction.
"And Y/n? Sheâs a part of that family. I donât even think you understand how big of a deal that is."
Jungkookâs mind is spinning. He sits there, his thoughts racing, but the words don't seem to connect. All he can do is stare at Yoongi, trying to make sense of everything thatâs being said.
His head is still reeling from the idea that the woman heâs been seeing... someone heâs grown to care for so deeply... belongs to such a powerful family. He had never imagined that you, with your down-to-earth nature, would be connected to such wealth and influence.
Yoongi, noticing Jungkookâs silence, smirks before continuing, clearly reveling in the shock heâs causing. "If you were shocked just looking at the estate I live in, wait until you see the kind of place Y/n lives in."
His voice lowers slightly, his tone growing more serious, almost as if heâs sharing a secret. "Her familyâs mansion? Itâs like something out of a movie. Itâs not like any place youâve ever seen before. We're talking private security, a sprawling garden, a real private estate. It's on a whole other level."
Jungkook feels his stomach tighten as he tries to digest what Yoongiâs saying. He canât even fathom how he didnât know this before, how he had no clue that something about your life was so different from anything he had known.
The thought of you being part of this world, a world so far removed from his own, leaves him just sitting there, not knowing what to do with this newfound information.

yandere!batfam/damianâs twin!reader
okay so! in these neglected!reader fics Dick is almost always the one whoâs like trying to reach out the most. because of this, personally(!) i feel like heâs the kinda guy who just wants his family to be whole so he kinda takes up the position of like father+brother combined (eldest child syndrome lowkey). he kinda becomes the most present figure in the twinsâ lives and i think it goes double for reader tbh.
like breakfast lunch dinner Dick is right there with her and yaps her ear off. i think that where Bruce is the kinda dad that wants you to finish what you start, Dick is the kinda brother thatâs like âif you donât wanna do it, then donâtâ ykwim? wanna do ballet? heâs at every recital. hate it? well, it wasnât for you anyways! any practice, game, show, concert, heâs there. and if you decide you absolutely hate whatever it is, heâs there for you too!
just like general supportive older brother, but turned up juuuust a smidge. i feel like in the yandere aspect, heâs not really the type to go try and murder someone. sure he might hurt someone, but heâd at least want to avoid murder. itâs more like heâs gonna try and keep her home/with him as much as possible. like where are you going? itâs family game night! when did we start family game nights? donât worry about it! now come on, itâs monopoly.
jason, on the other, WOULD probably kill someone. buuuuut i think itâs more so if she get physically hurt by someone would he be pushed to murder. emotionally? heâll probably just beat them up and threaten them. but if they put their hands on her? mmm yeah youâre dead. sorry!
i feel like jason, whoâs literally died and come back to life consumed by rage, would see reader as the opposite of himself. as good, where he is bad. and i think that on one hand he wants to push her away, to not taint her with the darkness that consumes him. but on the other hand, heâs had so much taken from him, seen death at every corner, even met the man face-to-face. canât he be selfish just this once?
so, in the early hours of the morning, before the sun comes up and his duty as Red Hood is done for the night, he seeks her out. he comes back to the manor, climbing through her bedroom window. sheâs still asleep and he just stands there, listening, watching, reminding himself that she is alive and so is he. he doesnât touch her, he canâtâ canât poison her good with his bad. so, he settles for observing. maybe one day he can work up the courage to speak with her, seek her comfort. but for now, heâs content with simply existing around her.
tim is also an observer in like a borderline stalker kinda way. makes everybody download life360 but he watches her location like a hawkkkk. also gifts her a phone thatâs totally safe i swear! donât mind that any texts from an ex or someone that you have bad blood disappear right after you get them. they probably just unsent them!
heâs like Dick in that he tries to convince her to stay home often. but his way of doing it is⌠different. you wanna go for a walk on this street? actually thereâs footage of a robbery that took place near there recently, probably not safe. wanna go to a friendâs house? um, according to their school records, they got detention in 5th grade. thatâs a bad influence, girl! donât worry, we can play mario kart or something instead!
with duke i feel like, compared to the others, heâs the closest youâll get to a regular brother. heâs the closest in age to the twins and he joined the batfam after damian in canon. heâs also very kind and soft(?) so itâs unlikely heâs gonna go full stalker and/or killer over his sister. donât get me wrong, he could kick ass if needed. but when it comes to reader, heâs mostly just trying to bond with her. watching movies in his room, sneaking out to get ice cream together, even at the âWayne Galasâ heâll stick by her side.
duke is veryyy caring and passionate, plus i feel like heâs sympathetic as well. so when you need comforting, heâs probably the best to go to. cause he wonât be the kind to go find whoever made you upset and âtalk toâ them. instead, heâs gonna comfort his sis! unless it was someone who physically hurt her, then heâll probably pay them a visit. but heâs not gonna kill them, i just canât see him doing that.
next up the batgirls đ just as a note this is all my interpretation of the characters. if you think itâs ooc, no you didnât â¤ď¸
also does anyone have a preference of using third person (she, her) or second (you, your)? i might switch to âyouâ when i write the batgirls so its not confusing, but if anyone has a preference, let me know!
and thank you all so much for the love on the first part!!!! iâve never uploaded fanfic before so this is so new to me đ
but i appreciate it sm! love yall! â¤ď¸

BATBOYS GENERAL HCS DURING DATING ââ .âŚ
a/n: my posts are barely getting engagement so it would be nice to reblog + like + cmmt tysm! Also
Iâm so tired because I donât know what I want to do with myself when like writing because I donât have much ideas yk, (I do have a lottt of ideas just donât want to like spam and idk how to like execute it correctly so ya) but Iâm so grateful Iâm back!
(Tags: batboys general hcs + fem!reader)
DICK GRAYSON ââ .âŚ
Compliments: Dick will compliment you constantly, but theyâre the slightly extra kind. âYou look like you just walked off the cover of a magazine⌠Or like youâre about to rob a bank with your style, and Iâm here for it.â
Date Nights: Dick is a hopeless romantic mixed a romantic flirty person. He'll plan elaborate date nights that are almost too perfect. You're having a candlelit dinner on a rooftop... until a mosquito swoops by, and you both spend 20 minutes trying to catch it.
Awkwardly Adorable: Dick tries so hard to be smooth, but when itâs just the two of you, he ends up tripping over his words, saying things like âI love you⌠like⌠in a non-creepy way⌠I mean, I know that sounds creepy butââ, âyou know dick, you couldâve just told me you loved me no need for all that extra yapping.â
Sharing Food: He canât resist sharing his food with you but will dramatically defend his fries. âNo, you can't have any. This is the last one. Youâll be fine. Itâs called 'the sacrifice of love.'â
JASON TODD ââ .âŚ
Grumpy But Cute: Jason might be brooding and grumpy on the outside, but once he gets comfortable with you, heâs a sucker for giving you the best hugs. Theyâre just not as soft as you expect, because, well, heâs Red Hood and thatâs not very 'soft' in his book.
Love Language: He definitely has a love language of throwing sarcastic remarks at you to show affection. âIâm just saying, you look so good, I might actually let you live longer than five minutes without me.â
Meme Sharing: Jason will share the funniest memes with you, and he will laugh harder than anyone else when you send him a reaction meme. You two could spend hours going through meme after meme while ignoring his patrol responsibilities.
Late Night Conversations: Heâs always the first to text at 3 am just to say, âIâm not okay. Also, I think I mightâve made pasta in the Batcave, but itâs 80% burnt and half of the 20% is missing on the ground in other words, itâs fully burnt. You in?â
TIM DRAKE ââ .âŚ
Puns & Dad Jokes: Tim is the king of puns. You might be mid-sentence talking about something serious, and heâll sneak in, âWell, thatâs egg-sactly what I was thinking.â
Organizing Everything: Tim will have a notebook just for your relationship. He organizes things like "future plans," "annoying habits to change," and âhow we can both pretend to be normal in public.â
Overthinking: Tim might send you long, thoughtful texts about nothing and everything, then panic and delete them. Later, you get a short text that says, âHey, I like you. Itâs cool. Letâs go save Gotham.â
Netflix & Research: On date nights, Tim is all about watching a documentary on some obscure topic. You wanted to watch a rom-com? Nope. Tim says, âLetâs learn about the history of ancient pizza ovens.â
DAMIAN WAYNE ââ .âŚ
Fiercely Protective: Damian will go full boss mode in a relationship. If someone even looks at you wrong, heâs ready to challenge them to a duel. Youâve never seen someone challenge a guy at the coffee shop to a sword fight over a latte until you met him.
Literally Shakespeare: He has this bizarre habit of reciting random Shakespeare quotes when trying to express his feelings. âMy love for you is like a tempest, crashing and relentless. Also, I think you forgot to add sugar in my coffee.â
Jealousy: Heâll get jealous of even the smallest things. That random guy who offered to help you with your grocery bags? Damianâs glaring at them from across the parking lot, preparing his âYouâre not worthyâ speech.
Tenderness: Donât be fooled by his brooding exterior. Damian will get you flowers (in his own way) â like a very dramatic single red rose that he purchased with the least amount of emotion possible, but you know he spent an hour picking the perfect one.
BRUCE WAYNE ââ .âŚ
Grumpy But Loyal: Bruce is that partner who takes a long time to warm up to things, but once heâs in, heâs in 100%. Heâll still be grumpy, though. If you show up in a bat-themed shirt, youâll get a raised eyebrow and a grunt that could probably level an entire building.
Affectionate In His Own Way: Bruce will bring you your favorite coffee without asking because heâs been paying attention to your usual order for the past six months. But if you say anything about it, heâll act like heâs annoyed. âIâm Batman. I donât do things for people.â
Overprotective: Heâll put the Batcomputer between the two of you if heâs feeling protective, even if itâs completely unnecessary. Someone bumps into you? Bruce is already three steps ahead, tracking their life history and figuring out their deepest secrets, just in case.
Romantic, But Quiet About It: Bruce canât show his love through words, but the way he gives you his jacket when itâs cold speaks volumes. Of course, he acts like it was an accident. âI didnât want you to catch a cold, thatâs all. Iâm not a softy, donât read into it.â
GENERAL TRAITS FOUND IN THEM ââ .âŚ
Matching Outfits: Theyâll all pretend like theyâre too cool for matching outfits, but one day theyâll catch themselves accidentally twinning with you, and neither of you can ever act normal again.
In Public: Theyâll all act like they donât care if you hold their hand in public, but if anyone tries to grab your hand instead, theyâll give them a glare that could freeze a person in place.
Batmanâs Turtleneck: Every Batboy secretly loves when Bruce wears his iconic black turtleneck and glasses. They all think Bruce looks like a mysterious intellectual, and they might just start commenting on it to mess with him. Bruce is too focused on Gotham to care.

I was soooooooo excited for this! *breathes in sharply* Okay let's get started đżđđ
âYou have my blessing,â she said. âAll I ask is that you donât scar me with any gushy details afterward.â
I love their friendship so much đ And kudos to Dory. It takes a lot to agree to this. It could potentially get very awkward đ
âYou know, itâs been about twenty years since Iâve seen him,â she said. âWeâve had entire lives already. I see him now, and thereâs some of the Russell I knew when we were kids, butâŚthereâs just a lot I donât know about him, who heâs become.â
God, I know. This is honestly what I think about the most when I watch Tracker. The whole story line is insane and intriguing and... đ
I have a thousand questions, and there's so much you could do with it in fics. I love it (clearly) đđ¤
Doryâs face tightened. âItâs a long story. Iâve told you some of it. But basically, after our dad died, nothing was ever the same again.â
I do think Russell knows a lot more about their past than he lets on. Also, he was way too chipper for someone who was accused of patricide by his own brother for twenty years. The dynamic between the brothers is just... interesting đ
Barely a date, you reminded yourself, as you unlocked the door to your house. Barely a date, barely a date.
Right... đ
âYouâre a grown fucking man, Charlie! Do you really need me to give you the just say no speech?â you said.Â
Oh, she's going full Reagan! đ I sense some trouble coming from the brother, though...
âYeah well, maybe just for one night, I wanted to relax without you harping on my back,â he said, glaring up at you. âIs that too much to fucking ask? For you to give me some goddamn slack?â
Well, I hope he already picked out his casket... đđ
âHey, there.â He greeted you with a warm hand on your back. He helped you into your seat.
I'd be a puddle before I even made it to the damn seat đŤ
And they are literally so cute together! I'm full on swooning over here đ
Russell nodded. He wasnât sure how much Dory told you about their family business, but it dimmed his mood.
Ah, yes, the family business. Love that sublte hint đ Would be a good name for a brewery, tho đ
He was starting to get a clearer picture of who your brother was. It struck at familiar chords inside himself that he wasnât so comfortable with. He shifted in his seat, fingers flexing over his glass on the counter.
I like that you emphasized the darker parts of his life. Like I said, I don't buy his whole "I'm happy and funny and quirky" act. There's a lot more stirring beneath the charming surface đ
(Another thing he has in common with Dean lol)
And oh, don't we love a good cry on the first date? Poor thing đđ¤
âYou gotta understand that me, my brother, my sister, we didnât grow up like a normal family,â he said. âYeah, I know,â you nodded. âDoryâs told me some of it. It soundedâŚrustic.â He snorted. âPutting it mildly.â
Indeed đ I would've loved to be a fly on the wall when Dory had this conversation with her lol
How he very eloquently avoided talking about Colter accusing him of murdering their father. I wanna be a fly on the wall for that future convo too đ¤Ł
And he slapped you right on the ass.
Loved that she got a punch in before even Russell got there. He might have actually killed that pig lmao
âAw, it doesnât look as bad as all that. But can I see?â he asked. You allowed him to take your smaller hand in his. Your knuckles were red and tender to the touch when he gently pressed. You hissed in pain.
I'm having vivid flashbacks to Smoke Eater đĽľđĽ
But his hands were gentle for you.
This line just about killed me... đŤ đŤ đŤ
âThree balls, huh?â you said slyly, and maybe, a little tipsy. âMight wanna get that looked at.â
I appreciate that kind of humor đđ
âNow, if I go in for a kiss goodnight, are you gonna deck me?â he asked, with a teasing glint in his eyes.
I absolutely can see him saying that đŻđ
He found no other recourse but to back you up against the side of his car.
Probably one of my favorite scenes is when characters are so hot for each other they lean against a car. There's just something so incredibly passionate about it đĽđŤ
âIâm staying at a motel, if you wannaâŚâ he said, between kisses.
Oh, Russell, this is not what the lady wants to hear. Bless him tho đ
And I figured she wanted more than a one-night-stand or fling. His job and lifestyle truly is a bit of a problem. But he wanted out anyways, so... đ¤
I loved their first date! đđ¤ Hopefully, they'll see each other again soon and might give this another shot. I have a feeling it's gonna involve her brother's bullshit somehow đ
Every Second Counts - Part 1
Pairing: Russell Shaw x F. Reader
Summary: One date with your best friendâs brother leaves you wanting more, even though his questionable job and vagabond lifestyle make you want to guard your heart. When your brother falls into trouble, however, Russell is the first one you trust to help you find him.Â
AN: Finally, here we are at Part 1! Remember that A Line and a Half functions as our prologue here.
Word Count: 5.7K
Tags/Warnings: 18+ only for some mature thoughts. Fluff, angst and hurt/comfort, drug use, mentions of drug addiction and alcoholism, skeevy men, and a tinge of spice.~
đ Series Masterlist
Part 1: "Permission Granted"
âAre you absolutely sure?â you asked, with your hands on your hips.Â
You wanted no miscommunication here, no read-between-the-lines mishaps, no subtext or nuance to bite you in the ass later. So here you stood in the middle of your best friendâs office, still at the Wyoming University campus after your last class.
Dory had to laugh at you. She pushed away from her desk and threw her hands up.
âYes, for the love of God, you can grab a drink with my brother,â she said.
After brushing a lock of blonde hair behind her ear, she went to you and set her hands on your shoulders.
âYou have my blessing,â she said. âAll I ask is that you donât scar me with any gushy details afterward.âÂ
Your face began to heat up in a blush. You crossed your arms.
âAll right, no one said there was going to be any of that,â you replied. âItâs just a date. Barely a date, mind you.â
âA-huh,â Dory said with a sneaking smile. âOut of curiosity, what was it about him that hooked you? Youâve been dodging Chrisâs valiant attempts for like a month now.â
Chris was a French and Spanish professor. His office was on the same floor as yours, so you two occasionally crossed paths whenever you ventured into the teacherâs lounge.
He usually caught you in the morning while you were grabbing your free coffee fix at the Keurig. Heâd chat you up about his classes and his dog and his new boat, and all the while youâd struggle to get a word in edgewise. Despite that, he was good-looking and pleasant, for the most part. It was justâŚ
âI donât know. Heâs not my type, I guess,â you shrugged. You kind of liked conversations where both people got to speak.
âAnd Russell is?â Dory said, in a teasing tone. You chewed the inside of your lip, fighting a smile.
âI donât know,â you admitted. âKind of want to find out though.â
âOkay, well, let me know what you find,â Dory said, more wryly. You caught a bit of melancholy when her gaze drifted off. Your brows furrowed in concern as you drew closer, setting a hand on her arm.
âWhat do you mean?â you asked.
She was hesitant, but she eventually answered you with a confession.
âYou know, itâs been about twenty years since Iâve seen him,â she said. âWeâve had entire lives already. I see him now, and thereâs some of the Russell I knew when we were kids, butâŚthereâs just a lot I donât know about him, who heâs become.â
You could understand that. You squeezed her arm in sympathy.
âWell, he really seems to want to know you now,â you said. You remembered all the questions he asked you when he helped you carry your files back to your office after lunch todayâmost of them about Dory, about her career, your friendship, and ultimately, if she was happy.
âWhat happened to you guys?â you asked. âWhy are you all so distant? Colter included.â
Doryâs face tightened. âItâs a long story. Iâve told you some of it. But basically, after our dad died, nothing was ever the same again.â
You dimmed at that. You knew their mother still lived in the cabin they grew up in, but Dory had never quite been able to tell you what happened to their dad. Youâd never pushed the subject. You knew better than anyone what kind of pain that was.Â
âI just wish weâd been able to stay with each other. Me and my brothers, at least,â Dory said. But she adopted a smile for you, before she returned to her desk.
âOkay. Go on your non-date at your favorite bar with Russell. Iâll be here, grading papers until Judgment Day,â she said, with a small laugh that felt like a coverup for thoughts she no longer wanted to think about.
You let her do it. You grabbed your purse and work bag off the spare chair in front of her desk.
âSo youâre sure,â you wanted to confirm. âOne last chance for me to tell him I came down with food poisoning.â
Dory collected her stack of midterm papers and gave you a cheeky look that said, class dismissed. Then she clicked her red pen and pointedly looked down at the first batch of papers to read through.
You smiled. Okay, you thought, giving her a little wave goodbye when you turned to leave. You had just a couple of hours to drive home and get ready to meet Russell.
âGoodnight,â you called.
âGoodniiight,â Dory replied.
You heard the smirk in her voice without even having to look back.
After fighting through rush hour traffic, you were exhausted when you got home from work. Your tentative excitement and nerves about tonight gave you some new energy though, even if you thought those nerves were silly to have.
Barely a date, you reminded yourself, as you unlocked the door to your house. Barely a date, barely a date.
The Ring Camera beside the door chimed when you entered the house, signaling your arrival. You had to wrinkle your nose at the dank-ass smell that greeted you.
Frowning in annoyance, you dropped your stuff on the kitchen table for now and shucked off your heels. You made a beeline down the hall, to the bedroom that lied across from yours. You pushed it open without knocking. There you caught your older brother, Charlie, snoozing in his bed with the covers half pooling on the floor.
His room was a mess, as usual. Your gaze locked on the evidence of half a blunt on his nightstand and two smoked roaches beside it. You were glad it wasnât remnants of white lines of powder, like times before, but there was also a large bottle of whiskey. It was almost empty, and hanging loosely from his hand.
He managed to raise his head a bit when you came in.
âHey,â he said, blinking bleary eyes. He cleared his throat and tried to sit up.
You shook your head and picked around piles of dirty clothes and a couple of used paper plates on the floor. You swiftly grabbed the bottle from his hand and slammed it on the nightstand.
âYou promised me, Charlie,â you snapped. âYou promised me for the hundredth time that youâd quit all this shit. Where even were you last night? You werenât home when I left for work this morning.â
He sighed, frowning at how loud you were, and sat up in bed. He swung his legs over the side and held his swimming head in his hands, resting his elbows on his knees. He ran a hand through his hair. It was nearly black, like Dadâs had been, but heâd inherited Momâs lighter eyes.
âI got invited to a party,â he said. âIâm sorry, I know. This is the last time.â
You expelled a frustrated breath and shook your head.
âYouâre a grown fucking man, Charlie! Do you really need me to give you the just say no speech?â you said.Â
âLook, Iâm sorry. I donât know how many times I can say it,â he said. He shut his eyes tight, probably trying to fend off a headache.Â
Good, you thought. Let that be a reminder of how bad heâd screwed up again.Â
âAnd while weâre at it, what about your half of the bills? Youâre a week late,â you said, testily crossing your arms.
âYeah, Iâm a little behind,â he said. Once again, he cleared his throat past a wad of phlegm. He was still a bit crossfaded too, you could tell. âYou know they cut my hours to part-time at the museum. Iâve, uh, Iâve been looking into getting another jobââ
âI already paid the phone bill. And the internet, the water bill, the electricity,â you said. âThe house may be paid off, but the least you can do is pay your half of living here.â
The longer you stared at him, seeing the guilt hidden behind drunken eyes, you realized he wasnât just late on his half of the bills.
âHow much?â you asked.
He frowned up at you. âWhat?â
âHow much do you owe?â you said. Your voice was as cutting as your gaze. Charlie lowered his. Â
âItâs okay, donât worryââ
âHow much,â you pressed.
He looked up at you again, this time with pursed lips. After a beat, he sighed and gave in.
âAbout two grand,â he admitted.
You raised your eyes heavenward, muttering a curse. Your hands went to your temples as you had to pace the room. You were angry and exasperated in equal measure.
âWho the fuck do you owe two grand?!â you asked.
Charlie shook his head. âItâs better that I donât tell you that.â
You paused. As you looked down at him, your anger dissolved into sadness, like it always did.
âIf Mom and Dad could see you now, they wouldnât recognize you,â you said.
Charlie fought not to react to that, his brows furrowing. Instead, he just looked down, unable to answer you.
âCharlie, you need help. I canât keep doing this with you,â you said. Your shaky breath gave way to the burn of tears. Â
His red-rimmed eyes became glassy as well.
âIâm sorry,â was all he said.
He was always sorry. And you always had to be the one to nurse him back to health, pick up the pieces, pay the bills. You were exhausted. The bone-deep kind of tired that felt like gravity wasn't so much keeping you down, but pushing you.
âIâm going to ask for two things: do what you need to do to get paid, and clean up your shit. If you canât accomplish that, then Iâm taking you to rehab,â you said.
âYou know Iâve tried that,â Charlie said, with a shrug of his shoulders. âDidnât really work for me.â
âYou left the program after two weeks!â you retorted.
âI did it on my own! Iâve been clean for months,â he argued.
âAnd what happened? You go to one party and all your good sense, all your training, mentally and physicallyâthat all goes out the window?â you said. You had half a mind not to believe him.
âYeah well, maybe just for one night, I wanted to relax without you harping on my back,â he said, glaring up at you. âIs that too much to fucking ask? For you to give me some goddamn slack?â
Your mouth fell open incredulously. Â
âIâm on your back?â you said. âOkay. Iâll get off. Do whatever the hell you want, Charlie. Iâm done.â
You left his room in an angry huff. You headed over to your room so you could take a shower and start getting ready to meet Russell at Howleyâs.Â
By the time you got to your bedroom, you heard the front door slam closed.
The truth was, you were no longer in a mood to have fun when you pulled up to Howleyâs, but you needed to escape your house. Also, you werenât someone who canceled on people last-minute, especially not on Doryâs own brother.
You found Russell waiting for you at the bar. He waved to you with a fifth of whiskey in hand and an easy grin. Heâd saved you a seat beside him.
You found yourself smiling. Your mood began to lighten as you went over to him. He looked more or less the same, but this time the jacket and jeans combo was navy blue and dark wash, respectively. His hair was swept back, lightly gelled. You smelled the familiar, rich woodiness of his cologne when you drew near, along with a hint of spicy soap.
âHey, there.â He greeted you with a warm hand on your back. He helped you into your seat.
âHey, yourself,â you replied, and thanked him for the assist onto the tall stool. Youâd opted for jeans and a blouse, paired with your favorite leather boots. It was less dressy than heâd seen you before, but that was âwork mode.â This was a more casual affair, even if youâd spent at least twenty extra minutes on your makeup.
You were glad he picked a spot at the end of the bar though. It put some distance from the group of guys getting rowdy as they cheered at the football game playing on the TV.
âHow was the rest of your day, Professor?â he asked. âAnd whatâre you wanting to drink?â
You let out a long sigh and turned toward him, resting your elbow on the counter.
âAwesome. Iâm going to need two shots of tequila and an order of something fried, and preferably covered with cheese, please,â you replied.
Russellâs grin deepened. âOkay, Iâm thinking âawesomeâ is code for something. But we can get started on that order of Forget Todayâs Unfortunate Events.â
He flagged down the bartender with a raise of his hand, but he shot you a glance.
âThough Iâm hoping itâs not all of today that you wanna forget,â he said.
Your lips threatened another smile, as the memory of your hand being swept up into his, and soft lips meeting the back of your hand filtered through your mind.
âYeah, I donât think thatâs possible,â you said.
After about ten minutes of playfully debating the appetizer menu (you swore by the pretzel and beer cheese, but Russell had his eye on those spicy wings), he finally settled on ordering both.
âWhen in doubt, donât go without,â heâd remarked.
You swept a pretty coil of hair over your shoulder and downed your tequila shots with a lime wedge. Meanwhile, Russell tried not to linger his eyes on the way your tongue swept over your finger to catch a drop of lime juice. Your nails were manicured, and the shade of the polish matched your lipstick.
Russell didnât pretend to know the art and science of a womanâs wardrobe, but everything about you was thought out, it seemed, falling in line with what heâd expect from a (sexy as all hell) college professor. Youâd also told him at lunch today that as of last year, you now had two doctorates: History and Ancient Studies.
Even with all that under your belt, you also seemed refreshingly down-to-earth, a lot like Dory in that sense. He could see why you two were friends.
âSo, are you from here, or are you a transplant, like my sister?â he asked.
Dory hadnât come to live in Wyoming until their aunt and uncle took her in, when she was about eight years old. Before last month, Russell hadnât seen her since. It hurt his heart to think about, but he tried to focus on you.
You now seemed to be staring a bit listlessly at the glass of whiskey in his hands. He laid a hand on your arm and called your name.
âHmm?â Your brows rose as you blinked to attention. âOh! Iâm sorry. Yes, Iâve lived here pretty much forever.â
âYou okay?â Russell asked. âTequila hit ya a little hard?â
You shook your head. âNo, Iâm sorryâŚâ
You raised your hands up to your temples. You debated whether you wanted to open up about this, butâŚconsidering who Russell was, you thought he might just understand.
âDory told me youâve been trying to reconnect with your brother, right? Colter?â you said.
Russell nodded. He wasnât sure how much Dory told you about their family business, but it dimmed his mood.
âWell, you could say Iâve got a brother issue of my own,â you said, laughing humorlessly. âYou donât have to talk about yours, but maybe youâll understand⌠My brother is a veteran too. He was a Captain, air force pilot. He fought in Afghanistan, mainly.â
Russell processed that with a nod. âYeah, I was there too. Special Ops.â
âWow, okay. Then you know what it was like for him, coming back home,â you said. Your gaze fell to your empty shot glasses. âIt was hard, afterâŚâ
âAfter?â he prompted.
You sighed. âNear the end, he lost half his unit in a raid, off of some flawed intel.â
Russellâs brows knitted together. Hmm. Grief, survivorâs guilt, feeling like you donât belong.
He was starting to get a clearer picture of who your brother was. It struck at familiar chords inside himself that he wasnât so comfortable with. He shifted in his seat, fingers flexing over his glass on the counter.
You didnât notice, but you did push the shot glasses away from you.
âI helped him the best I could,â you said. âI got him a job at the museum I interned at when I was in undergrad. Heâs there as a security guard, but itâs not really enough, you know? Itâs like, nothing satisfies him. I justâŚI donât think I know how to help him anymore.â
You couldnât help it. Emotion bubbled in your throat, making it close up on you as tears stung in your eyes. Your lower lip wobbled, and you tried to turn your face away. Embarrassment coiled up in your chest and made your face hot.
You felt a hand cover yours on your thigh, squeezing warmly. You looked up and met Russellâs gaze, both sympathetic and understanding.
âIâm so sorry,â you said, trying to calm your shuddering breath. âThis isnât exactly first date material. I canât believe I unloaded on you like that.â
âHey, itâs okay,â he said. âBelieve me, I get what your brotherâs going through.â
He pushed the plate with the last piece of soft-baked pretzel over to you.
âYou finish that if you want, then you go ahead and pick something else off the menu. I wonât even argue with you this time,â he promised with a grin.
It got you to laugh, at least, and he gave you a napkin for your tears.
God, get it together, you told yourself. Youâre a damn mess.
âThanks,â you said. You managed to smile as you blotted at one corner of your eye. You hoped you hadnât just irreversibly smudged your mascara.
Russell surprised you by brushing his thumb against your other cheek, wiping a stray tear away. Your face began to warm with a blush.
âAgain, Iâm sorry for dumping on you. We had a fight right when I got home,â you admitted.
âWhatâs his name?â Russell asked.
âCharlie.â
âOlder or younger than you?â
âFour years older,â you replied. âHe enlisted a few years after he graduated high school.â
Russell flickered at a smile. Enlisted, huh?
Yet another thing he and Charlie had in common, except Russell hadnât made it through high school in the classic sense.
âWhat do you think?â you asked.
âI think your brother sounds lost right now. Iâve known a lotta guys like him, unfortunately,â Russell admitted. âWalking back into civilian life, it ainât easy. That I know my damn self. Just like I know a thing or two about being an older brother. Heâs probably doing his best to keep it off your shoulders.â
You shook your head at that. Trying, maybe.
You werenât even sure of that anymore. Still, it made you all the more curious about Russell and his family.
âI know I said I wouldnât ask this, and you donât have to answer. But did you and Colter have a falling out or something?â you asked.
Russell expelled a deep breath and took a sip from his glass. How was he supposed to navigate this minefield with you?
âYou gotta understand that me, my brother, my sister, we didnât grow up like a normal family,â he said.
âYeah, I know,â you nodded. âDoryâs told me some of it. It soundedâŚrustic.â
He snorted. âPutting it mildly.â
He shook his head and drained the rest of his glass.Â
âWell, my brotherâs got an idea about me that isnât true,â he said.
Your head tilted in curiosity. âWhich is?â
His lips briefly raised in a wan smile.Â
âWe donât gotta get into that one tonight. But uh, the truth is, Iâve tried reaching out to him several times now. He just doesnât wanna hear from me,â said Russell.
You considered him for a moment. You laid a hand on his arm, covered by his jacket.Â
âDonât give up,â you said, with a sigh of your own. âDespite some things I said to him today, I know I canât. My brotherâs the only real family I have.â
Russell grew curious then. âWhat about your parents?â
You gave a weak smile.
âThey passed away when we were young, butâŚwe donât have to get into that one tonight,â you said, borrowing his words.Â
His expression fell. âJesus. Iâm sorry to hear that.â
âThank you,â you accepted, twisting the napkin around your fingers.
An awkward lull of silence fell between you, until Russell nodded and blew out a breath.
âWell. Heavy, huh?â
You chuckled and rested your head against your hand.
âI know. Again, my fault,â you replied.Â
âItâs okay, sweeâ. Mmm,â he cut himself off, shooting you a knowing glance.
âWere you about to sweetheart me?â you asked playfully, nudging his hand. âYou know how I feel about that.â
âNo, maâam. Not at all,â Russell shook his head. His smile gave him away though. You laughed and grabbed his arm.
âCome on,â you said.
He allowed you to lead him out of his seat. He already had a tab open, so heâd settle up with the bar later. âWhere we going?â
âYouâre gonna lose to me at pool,â you said with a smirk.
Russell laughed and wrapped his arm around your waist instead.
âOh, okay. Iâm gonna give you a run for your money, though,â he promised.
And he was true to his word.
Russell Shaw turned out to be a more than worthy opponent. You studied the board as you changed the angle on your cue stick no less than five times.
âYou gonna make a move, or we going to be here all night?â he said.
He was smiling as he leaned against his own cue on the other side of the board. His clever moves had left you in a difficult position to get your three remaining solid-colored balls into the pocket.
âYou hush. Iâm thinking,â you said, fighting your own smile.
âCareful, youâve got steam coming out of your ears,â he teased.
You shot him a narrowed look for that. But then you smiled, as the answer came to you. You walked around to his side of the board and nudged him with your hip.
âExcuse me, sir,â you said to him over your shoulder.
Russell made way for you, but his eyes followed the way you bent over to line up your shot. Namely the curve of your ass in those tight jeans. He could see you knew exactly what you were doing, in more ways than one.
You shot your shot. The solid green ball leapt over his white-striped blue one and managed to sink into the pocket. You straightened up and gave him a triumphant little smirk.
He tried to temper his smile (and ignore the way his cock twitched).
âAll right, go on, do your little victory lap," he said. "But remember, I let you go first.â
âLike that matters,â you quipped back.
You went back to the other side of the board to line up your next shot. Russell noticed a pair of drunk men ambling your way from the bar, but before he could make a subtle move to put himself in between, one of the menâs gazes slid down your form and gave into the base urge to let out a low whistle.
And he slapped you right on the ass.
You gasped, grabbing hold of the pool table. Then your shock melted into ire.
Russell was already heading toward you with an angry frown of his own, but even he had to stop short, when he watched you throw a punch that cracked the drunken man across the bridge of his nose.
Good form, Russell thought, when the guy reared back with a howl. His nose dripped blood when his hands came away from his face.
His buddy started to raise his hackles, but that was when Russell stepped to your side. He angled himself toward you and loosely gripped his pool cue by his hip, like it was an extension of his arm. He was fully prepared to use it like one.
âFucking bitch!â said the one who was still dabbing his nose in vain. He glared at you, his eyes watering involuntarily, while his friend tried to keep him upright. You rolled your eyes.
"You're the one who's crying, bitch," you returned. Russell held in a snort. He cleared his throat and looked on at the pair of idiots.
âIâd have a little sit down if I were you,â Russell told them, with a smirk. âLet that be a lesson to ya. And if it donât stick? Well. Whatever you start, I can damn well finish.â
His steely gaze reinforced the promise of his words. The other men were still angry, but even drunks had some sense of self-preservation. They ambled toward the back of the bar to find another pool table.
Russell focused his attention back on you, finding you looking down at your hand, rotating your wrist and flexing your fingers.
âWell, look at you, slugger,â he said. You met his smile with one of amusement.
âThatâs just what I needed tonight. A broken hand,â you quipped.
âAw, it doesnât look as bad as all that. But can I see?â he asked. You allowed him to take your smaller hand in his. Your knuckles were red and tender to the touch when he gently pressed. You hissed in pain.
Damn, she really gave it to him, Russell thought.
âSorry,â he said, but your hand felt fine, at least. More than fine. His gaze flicked up to yours as his amused grin deepened. âGood hit though.â
If he liked you before, he mightâve fallen half in love with you right there.
You laughed through the pain. âYeah, my brother did teach me something. Shit.â
Russell led you back to the bar after you grabbed your purse. There he called to the bartender for some ice. The guy nodded; heâd seen the entire exchange and was sympathetic.
You knew this sort of thing was just par for the course at this kind of bar, but they had the best drinks. Charlie had to carry you out of here on your twenty-first birthday, drunk off your ass. Not to mention, heâd punched out two handsy dicks that night.
You recounted the story to Russell over a couple more drinks. Your conversation was lighter then, filled with laughter and a warm, companiable feeling. He was still rather evasive about his job, but you supposed he had to be, since it was government contract work.
Private security, mainly. Or so he'd said. This man made you infinitely curious, and a bit apprehensive, if you were honest.
And yet, at some point while you two shared and laughed and split a hot sandwich with another round of beers, you realized it.
I like this, you thought. And I like him.
However, the night had to come to an end sometime. Your third involuntary yawn told Russell it was time to call it.
"I'm okay," you tried.
"Nah, you've gotta work tomorrow," he said. He signaled to the bartender. "Let me go ahead and close out my tab."
âOh, I can pay for half,â you said, reaching for your purse now hanging from your hip.
âYou kidding me? Put that away,â he said, guiding your hand with your wallet aside.
Smiling, you accepted his generosity with a small thank you. Then, you let him take up your sore hand again, just to carefully press the half-melted bag of ice over it.
âFeelinâ better?â he asked.
Your smile became softer. âYeah.â
You had no doubt that this man, tall as he was, with his broad shoulders and the controlled way he carried himself, couldâve laid both of those drunken assholes onto their asses. His intimidating gaze had promised as much.
But his hands were gentle for you.
âI was about to win that game, no contest!â you said, laughing as you and Russell headed out of the bar and into the parking lot.
âHey, hey, I still had time to win it back,â he argued. âI only had three more balls to go. I couldâve sunk that with my eyes closed.â
âThree balls, huh?â you said slyly, and maybe, a little tipsy. âMight wanna get that looked at.â
Russell snorted. âYou think youâre funny, huh?â
âHey, you laughed!â you said, pointing at him.
He shook his head, despite his amusement. He slowed to a stop in front of his car.
âWhereâd you park, huh?â he asked.
âOver there,â you said, pointing several parking spaces down. Your eyes were drawn to his car, however. âWow. This is your car?â
Russell grinned and patted the top of his black Chevy.
âAw, yeah. Thatâs my baby,â he said. âSheâs a Chevelle, 1967.â
You didnât know much about cars, but you could see this was a classic beauty. You passed a hand over its sleek paint job without touching, so you didn't get any fingerprints on it. Though you quirked a smile over your shoulder at him.
âShe?â you intoned.
âThatâs right. She,â he confirmed.
You smirked and crossed your arms. You paused in front of the passenger door, and when Russell drew in closer, you had to crane your neck up to meet his warm gaze.
âNow, if I go in for a kiss goodnight, are you gonna deck me?â he asked, with a teasing glint in his eyes.
You tilted your head, your own eyes dancing.
âIâm sure youâre brave enough to find out,â you said.
Russell decided heâd take that bet.
He leaned in slowly. He made a show of hesitating, raising a brow, as if waiting for a blow. You were tempted to laugh.
But then he let loose a true smile, and he bowed his head to press his lips against yours. Your eyes fell shut, and your hands moved to flatten against his chest. A firm fucking wall. Jesus.
He circled his arms around your waist, bringing you in closer. Your fingers wound up in his hair, while he tilted his head to kiss you again. You met him with the same fervor with each new kiss, and the feel of your body, soft and pliant under his hands, each little sweet sound that you made, it all drove him to delve in deeper.
You moaned into his mouth at the first warm swipe of his tongue against yours. He tasted like the burn of good whiskey.
You pressed yourself flush against him on instinct. He found no other recourse but to back you up against the side of his car. His hand tangled into your hair, gripping, then easing through the soft strands.
Russell veered away from your soft mouth after a while, just to burn a line of warm, wet kisses along your jaw, and down your neck with the added rasp of his beard.
His lips found the sensitive spot where your neck met your shoulder. He kissed and sucked at your skin, even grazing with his teeth. You gasped softly in his ear, shuddering against him. You ran your hands over his shoulders and down his strong back out of a need to feel him.
His hands were heavy along the curve of your waist then, squeezing your hips. It all felt incredibly right. And by right, you meant body tingling, warmth churning in your lower belly, and wetness growing between your legs, for sure dampening your panties.
You tugged him back by his hair, so you could reach him for another steamy kiss.
âIâm staying at a motel, if you wannaâŚâ he said, between kisses.
You paused against his lips, parting from him softly.
âOr not," he added. "Just thought Iâd mention.âÂ
You giggled, catching your breath, and then smoothing your hands down his chest. The faint throb of your core was telling you one thing, but the warning signals of your more cautious mind were telling you another. You thought for a momentâŚbut then you sighed.Â
âHow long are you really in town?â you asked.
His wet lips tugged to one corner, ruefully. âA few more days, probably.â
âRight,â you said with a frown. âRussell, I like you. I actually, I really do. If you were sticking around for a while, itâd be one thing. But youâre my best friendâs brother, and Iââ
âNo, I get it. I canât predict when Iâm gonna be able to swing back into town, and youâve gotta live your life,â he said, but not without care. He curled an errant strand of hair behind your ear.Â
Your heart tugged, almost painfully.
âYouâre a good guy, Russell Shaw,â you breathed. âWhy canât you be a good guy whoâs staying?â
âIâm sorry, sweetheart,â he said. Then he cringed, knowing how you felt about sweethearting men. âAh, sorryââÂ
You smiled and covered his mouth with your fingers.Â
âItâs okay. You have permission to sweetheart me.âÂ
After blinking his surprise away, his face eased into a grin.
âThen Iâll wear that badge with honor,â he said.Â
Your shoulders shook with laughter when you let your forehead fall against his chest.
Russell remained what he had been throughout the entire night: a gentleman, who accompanied you over to your car.
After another stolen kiss or two in front of your sedan, you parted ways from him with a bit of a heavy heart. You wondered if you made the right decision, or if you shouldâve just gone for it for once, instead of second-guessing yourself like usual.
You did know this. The rumble of his Chevelle driving down the opposite road would be imprinted on your memory.
When you returned home, you realized that the house was empty, and in complete darkness.
Charlie still wasnât home.
Worried, you flicked on the lights and began to text his cell, only to find a note for you on the kitchen counter.
And it worried you even more.
Iâm sorry. Iâm going to make it right.Â
â C.
AN: đŹ Well then! lol We're diving straight into the drama and feels on this one. What did you think of her "barely a date" with Russell? đ
And where do you think we're going next with Charlie?
Next Time:
Dory was sat next to you on the couch, rubbing your back with sympathy and concern in her own eyes.
âYou should call the police,â she advised.
Youâd thought of that, but if Charlie was doing something he wasnât supposed to, then depending on what it was, you didnât necessarily want him locked up in a cell. He wasnât a bad person, he was justâŚlost. You wanted him to get help.
You set down the butterknife beside the jar and turned to her, after drying your eyes the best you could.
âDo you think your brother would be willing to come back to Wyoming?â you said. After a beat of hesitation, you specified:
âColter, the tracker.â

I need to be salty for a hot second about people who are upset about aspects of Lucanis' romance.
I'll put everything else under the break for spoilers, but in general, I am so disappointed in a large portion of this fanbase who apparently thought "disaster" meant "romantasy," but also it's in keeping with how a lot of people seem unable to put things in context.
One of the complaints I keep seeing run past is that the scene where you commit to a relationship with Lucanis seems pefunctory, or out of the blue, there's nothing really romantic about it, it's too similar to the platonic route, etc, etc, ETC.
I romanced Emmrich, but I've seen other people's versions of romancing Lucanis. I'm just going to kind of word vomit here, and hope I can come up with something cohesive.
As someone who id's with Lucanis for "generational abuse" and "dumpster fire disaster bi" and "using socially acceptable drugs as coping mechanisms in place of addressing your problems" reasons, it's been really fucking annoying watching the almost deliberate misinterpretation of his character even after Mary Kirby dropped several explanations on social media. It's like a large part of the fanbase saw all that and turned into the "yes yes, very sad...anyway!" meme and went right on fetishizing him...then got mad when he didn't turn into the seductive Dom with wings they were hoping for.
You commit to Lucanis after (what I consider) a very intense scene inside his "mind prison." He's struggling so much internally that Spite wrests control of his body from him in front of witnesses and begs Rook to help them. Lucanis would never ask Rook to do so on his own, he's terrible at asking for the help he truly needs. Spite drags Rook into the Fade Ossuary and demands they free Lucanis from his self-imposed prison. And whether you're a friend or would-be lover, Rook slowly talks Lucanis out of a host of self doubts regarding his family and friends. Can he trust himself not to hurt other people, now that he's saddled with this affliction? Has he disappointed the people he cares about most? Do these new people he's coming to care about actually trust and care about him? The rooms are filled with fragmented thoughts that peter out into regrets. You're literally seeing Lucanis' fractured and complicated emotions.
One of them tore a hole straight through me: "You'd have to kill me...And Spite would die."
You'd have to kill him to get rid of the demon. And he'd regret the death of the demon that's protected him and given him strength, through a brutal year of betrayal and torment. I don't know if y'all remember the scenes in the Ossuary of the failed experiments and the corpses you had to pass to get to his jar of blood. It wasn't fun.
When you break out of the mind prison after helping him bond with Spite, it's intimate and momentous, even on a platonic route. You've seen desperate and lonely parts of him he'd never willingly show anyone.
As you're convincing Lucanis that it's okay to leave his mind-prison, you tell him you understand that it's easier to deal with problems like the Ossuary and Zara than healing and living with Spite, potentially hurting people he cares about. But he wants to. It's Rook's job to help him see a path out, a way for him to make the struggle easier so he can begin to heal himself.
I need to stress: you aren't "fixing" him. You're acting as his lighthouse, regardless of whether you're a friend or a lover. Sometimes people need help. He's still going to have to do the work to get there.
As a friend, it was extremely rewarding to come back to the kitchen and see him doing exactly as I'd hoped: moving on with the business of *living*. He made a nice dinner for everyone he's come to care for, and a special dessert for Neve. Cooking is where Lucanis finds creativity, and comfort, and connection with his friends and family. He isn't very good with words, but he will note everything you consume, and try to make you feel loved by expressing it that way.
Which is why I think it's important you don't dismiss the commitment on the romantic route. He remembers YOUR favorite drink and makes YOU a special dessert if you're romancing him. Lucanis isn't going to get poetic. You've already made him feel raw. You've seen the ugly, embarassing parts of him. What is he supposed to say? Usually it takes Spite reaching through his body to actually be direct. Instead, Lucanis reaches for food, his favorite medium, to try and apologize for inadvertently showing you those things, to thank you for helping him despite seeing what he considers the most shameful parts of him. Your commitment is letting him know that you value him, that he has nothing to be ashamed of, that you understand what he's trying to express with his struggling communication skills, which appear to get better as your relationship progresses from there.
It's weird that some of y'all don't feel that this is heartfelt and important, because you'd rather him act out some sensuous fantasy trope. It's also weird that some of you haven't figured out that many scenes in RPG's can be similar on platonic and romantic routes with tweaks to shade context.
(Also just in case this comes up: cooking is not his "love language" - that whole concept was invented by a misogynistic weirdo and we should remove it from our ideas of communication)
Anyway, this guy is my Rook's bestie and I'll go down swinging for him, you should appreciate the fuck out of him and stop acting like his writer didn't craft a perfectly funny little weirdo who is bad at showing people his tender parts and terrible at interpersonal relationships.

SVT Reaction to you flinching during an argument
warnings: mentions of arguments and flinching during an argument, not descriptive, mentions of past trauma (?) maybe during one part, very tame and kinda fluffy, attempt at humour? man idk... let me know if I missed anything
remember my requests are OPEN for seventeen!
Seungcheol (S.Coups)
The softest man alive, fight me, I will die on this hill. Have you seen the video of Minghao cupping Cheolâs cheek and he instantly crumbles? Yeah, Cheol would immediately see you flinch or even step back away from him and heâd fold. He would never hurt you, you know that, he knows that, everyone who knows you both knows that. He literally worships the ground you walk on. But he can get heated in an argument with loud words and huge hand gestures, which might scare you. He would immediately lose the ability to be angry, or annoyed, or whatever at you and instantly start apologizing, cooing at you, and would spend the night babying you within an inch of your life. âYou know I would never, ever do anything to hurt you, right princess?â
Jeonghan
Now this man can be mean, I can feel it in my bones. But he would never, ever, ever, hurt you. He is so gentle and kind, and while he can definitely have some sassy moments and might even say some things that can come off as rude, he would never in a million years raise a hand to you. If you are flinching because of him itâs probably because heâs making large hand gestures trying to get his point across, but as soon as he noticed heâd go all wide-eyed, drop his hands immediately, and completely forget what you were even arguing about. Heâd make sure you allowed it before holding you and cuddling you the rest of the night, whispering sweet things into your ear as he rocked you.Â
Joshua
Another gentle giant. I canât see him even getting animated enough to make you flinch, but if you did for whatever reason he is instantly caving and probably trying to make himself seem smaller to calm you down. Whether that means getting on his knees, sitting on the couch, or even laying down to continue the conversation, heâll do it. But he will want to continue the conversation, though in a less heated way. Would run his hands through your hair, hold your hands and kiss your knuckles, and stare into your eyes as you spoke, telling him how youâre feeling as you both try to resolve whatever the fight was about in the first place.Â
Jun
Another one I canât see actually making someone flinch, he is just too soft for his own good. But if you did flinch away from him during an argument he would be so confused by what just happened, maybe to the point where heâs looking behind him to make sure something else didnât frighten you. Would end up losing his train of thought and reach out for you to comfort you. âBaby, you know Iâd never hurt you!â Would probably pout at you after he made sure you were ok.Â
Soonyoung (Hoshi)
Another gentle man with loud words and big gestures. He is part of BSS and all of BSS can get chaotic and hyper. That said, he seems the type to be pretty quiet/docile during an actual argument. The only time I can see him accidentally scaring you is if he gets really heated and shouts/yells. If this ever happened he would see you flinch and immediately cool his anger. It would be like a switch is flipped. Would lower his voice, whispering to you to make sure youâre ok, and if you cried he would probably end up crying with you in hushed tones.Â
Wonwoo
Heâs tall, and heâs broad, and he understands that he is much larger than you. He usually takes this into account during arguments specifically to avoid this from happening. Will usually sit down when arguing with you for this reason. The moment you flinch or try to move away from him he would probably get very steel-faced, berating himself for not being more mindful. You might take this as him being angry at you, which he would immediately crumble at. Heâs not angry anymore, in fact, he just wants to make you feel loved. Will kick himself for the rest of the night and you might end up being the one to comfort him. âI feel like the worst boyfriend on the planet.â
Jihoon (Woozi)
The only member that I cannot see ever making you flinch, in any situation. Mans so calm and collected, if you are arguing with him he's probably sitting there with his arms crossed completely chill.Â
Seokmin (DK)
Another member of BSS and loud boy squad. Heâs also pretty tall and muscular so if you ever flinched away from him during an argument I can see it resulting in immediate tears on his end. He would feel so incredibly awful for making you think he would ever hurt you that it absolutely breaks his heart. He would try to make himself smaller, tears in his eyes as he apologizes and makes you understand that he was just trying to get his point across. Might even act more subdued in his actions for the next few days until you promise him that you werenât really scared of him. Sulky baby.Â
Mingyu
Another huge baby with a heart of gold. Because of his size alone I can see this happening with him if he is super heated or if the argument isnât going his way and heâs trying to defend himself. Lotâs of arm movements. The moment you flinch his eyes are watering with unshed tears and heâs holding onto you for dear life. Hugging, kissing, cuddling you, completely forgets what the argument was about. You would end up reassuring him in bed later that you admire his size and strength so he doesnât feel bad about himself for the next few days. Sulky baby #2.
Minghao (The8)
Can come off as cold and calculated, but I think this man is one of the most loving and romantic in the entire group (fight me on this). Heâs also very level headed, but on the off chance that you do end up flinching during an argument, he would be super analytic about it. âHey, come here. Sit down with me and tell me whatâs going through your head.â Would make you sit with him, would rub his knuckles over your arm or shoulders as you spoke with tears in your eyes. Would make you talk it out with him before comforting you if that is what you need. Makes sure that you understand he would never hurt you and only wants to make sure whatever issues you had were resolved before you went to bed.Â
Seungkwan
Final member of BSS and definitely a loud, sassy boy. Youâve all seen him argue on national television before, so this is definitely something that could happen in your relationship. However, the moment you are flinching away from him he is pouting at you (you know the face) and looking at you with those pretty wide eyes like he doesnât understand what just happened (he doesnât). Wants to immediately figure out why exactly you flinched, will do whatever he can to make you feel loved and appreciated in that moment, but will definitely need reassurance later that you know he would never hurt you. Sulky baby #3.Â
Vernon
Might not even realize you flinched at first. Would be too in his head talking through whatever it was that you are arguing about that he doesnât realize what has happened until you have tears in your eyes. âBaby? Was it something I said?â Poor baby will feel awful when you explain it to him. Maybe you have had bad experiences in your past that make you more scared when in arguments. Would listen and talk through it with you and promise to not make the same mistakes next time you argue, if you do. Would feel so bad after you resolved it until you reassured him that itâs ok.Â
Chan (Dino)
Precious baby doesnât always realize when heâs getting loud or gesturing widely. When you flinched he would stop dead in his tracks, rethinking all his life decisions. You could literally see the calculations taking place behind those pretty boba eyes as he figures out exactly what movement he made to make you flinch. Would promise you and himself he would never do it again and would want to cuddle with you so closely the rest of the evening that he wouldnât even want to let you go to get ready for bed. Literally clinging to your back like a koala.

Seb complaining to you after a days worth of work
short drabble
requested. by anon
Sebâs broad shoulders sagged as he shuffled inside, his gills flaring faintly with every irritated breath. Door creaking as he stepped inside still in his uniform, which carried a lingering dent of zauns smog and dust. He muttered something under his breath, probably about the day heâd had, as he unbuckled his utility belt and tossed it onto a nearby chair with a loud clunk.
You watched from the kitchen, leaning against the counter with a glass of water in hand, already bracing yourself for the incoming storm of complaints. Which he always does. He sure does love to complain about his job as enforcer.
âLong day?â you asked, breaking the silence.
Seb turned his wide, fish-like eyes toward you, his lower lip jutting out in an exaggerated pout. âYou have no idea,â he groaned, flopping down onto the couch like a deflated balloon. His fin-like ears twitched as he rubbed at his temple, his webbed fingers dragging down his face dramatically. âI swear, if one more rookie enforcer tells me, âItâs just shimmer addicts, Seb,â Iâm gonna lose it. Like, yeah, Brad, shimmer addicts who could gut you with a rusty knife in two seconds flat. But sure, act tough.â (idk whoâs brad lol, just a rando)
You bit back a laugh, crossing the room to sit beside him. âBrad again, huh?â
âBrad always,â Seb whined, throwing his head back against the couch and staring at the ceiling like it held all the answers. âItâs like babysitting with a badge.â He gestured wildly as he spoke, his fins flicking in irritation. âAnd donât get me started on the paperwork. Hours of chasing down some punk, and then I have to sit there and write about it. I didnât sign up for this. Well, okay, I did, but still.â
You leaned closer, resting your chin on your hand as you watched him rant. There was something endearing about the way he vented, his deep voice rising and falling with every exaggerated complaint.
âAnd then,â Seb continued, throwing his hands in the air for emphasis, âthis shimmerhead threw a bottle at me. Me! Do I look like the kind of guy you throw a bottle at?â
You raised an eyebrow, pretending to think. âWell, you are pretty intimidating.â
Seb scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. âOh, come on. Iâm a catch.â He paused, his lips twitching upward as he caught the unintended pun. âLiterally.â
You snorted, nudging him with your elbow. âA very dramatic catch.â
âHey, someoneâs gotta keep things interesting,â he said, finally cracking a small smile. He turned his gaze to you, his big eyes softening. âYouâre lucky youâre cute, or Iâd really start whining.â
âStart whining?â you teased, earning a half-hearted glare.
Seb sighed, leaning back into the couch and letting his head loll toward you. âYou know,â he murmured, his tone quieter now, âitâs not all bad. Coming home to you? Best part of the day.â
Your cheeks warmed at his sudden sincerity, and you reached out to take his hand. âGlad I can make it better,â you said softly.
He squeezed your hand, his usual dramatics replaced by a rare moment of tenderness. The two of you sat there in silence, his complaints forgotten for now. Seb might be a whirlwind of grumbling and theatrics, but you wouldnât trade him for anything.

"Always."
lando norris x gn!bf!reader
notes: I havenât written since 2019, so bear with me. Iâve found myself thinking about a little blurb for Lando recently (actually a lot of ideas, but this one is sticking with me more than the others at the moment).
For some context, Landoâs been receiving a huge amount of hate online (and in-person) recently. I havenât been a fan for that longâI got into F1 this summer, in 2024âbut Iâve grown to care about him. I was there for Lando losing the championship, and while I think we all knew it would come to this (Max winning felt inevitable) but Iâm proud of Lando for pushing so hard this entire year.
Still, with all the hate directed at him, Iâm seeing a new side of him, and Iâm learning that heâs a person with feelings like anyone else. I can tell he doesnât always have the highest opinion of himself and tends to take the blame for anything that goes wrong during his races. What struck me about this is how much I relate to it. I blame myself for things out of my control or when I mess up. What sucks with Lando is that his small, human errors are what so many people focus on to criticize himâwhether itâs why he didnât win the championship or why they think heâs a bad person (which he absolutely isnât).
The inspiration for this came from an interview he did after the Brazilian GP. At that point, everyone knew it was almost mathematically impossible for Lando to win the championship, and he talked about struggling in the aftermath: âI literally couldnât sleep for the first two daysâŚSo I did like, what, 36-40 hours straight. So that probably made everything worse. When youâre tired, youâre more moody, and that kind of thingâŚI was just sat at home alone. It probably would have been better if I had been with my friends. But they donât live in Monaco. They also have lives and are busy doing other things. And Iâm a big overthinker, so like the whole flight home, the whole week, it just played over and over in my head. What could I have done differently? Why did I do that? Why did I not do this? You start thinking of all the scenarios that you kind of blame yourself for, why itâs now not possible, that kind of thing. And yeah, because I overthink and I struggle with that kind of thing, that took a bigger toll in the days after. It wasnât an easy time.â
And I keep on finding myself wishing someone could have been there for him in person, so that he was okay. So, I wrote this. The reader in this is dating Lando but is written as a gender-neutral character that uses They/Them pronouns. The reader also has a service dog, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Thunder, to help with their own depression and anxiety (Iâm not an expert on service dogs, so this many not be 100% accurate).
They woke up that early morning to the sunlight shining on their face, streaming in from the window outside. The bliss of sleep clung to them as they lay there, cocooned in warmth, the covers snug around their body. They stretched lazily, blinking their eyes open.
Instinctively, they turned to look beside themâonly to find the space next to them empty. Itâs too early in the morning to be anywhere else but in bed, even for training, they thought. Lando should still be here.
The realization pulled them out of their sleepy haze. The past couple of days had been not kind to Lando. They knew that he had a tendency to keep his feelings bottled up and beat himself up over his perceived failures. They understood that feeling all too wellâthe guilt, the constant sense of disappointment, the nagging thought that were never good enough. They had wrestled with those feelings since they were a child.
It wasnât something that had an easy fix. If they had found the answer, they would have shared it with Lando years ago. But they had learned that the best way to fight those thoughts wasnât isolation. Talking to someone, writing feelings down, even simple positive affirmationsâthought they might sound sillyâcould help push back against the negative spiral. They had told Lando this countless times.
But Lando had a problem with not wanting to âinconvenienceâ anyone with his emotions. No matter how many times they reassured him that they were always there for him, he struggled to let himself. They didnât blame himâit was human to struggle against your own mind.
What made everything worse was the constant online hate. Every little mistake or sarcastic comment from Lando seemed to turn into an avalanche of criticism. They remembered the first time theyâd seen him like a hateful comment about himself on Instagramâthe little heart next to a cruel statement, paired with note: âCreator liked this.â It had broken their heart. How could the Lando they loved ever believe such awful things about himself?
After Brazil, it had been clear that he wasnât okay. Heâd barely spoken since coming home, choosing instead to himself. They had given him space, hoping heâd find a way to process his feelings. But by the second morning, when he still hadnât come to bedâalmost forty hours after returning homeâthey knew they couldnât stand by any longer.
That morning, they rose slowly from the bed, a plan beginning to form in their mind. Lanod needed someone to step inâsomeone to remind him he didnât have to face his struggles alone. They were determined to be that person for him. Â They couldnât take it anymore, seeing the person they loved so badly, punishing himself over his âfailures.â
The first step was to confirm where he was. Grabbing their phone, they opened Twitch and navigated to Maxâs stream. After a few moments of watching, they heard Landoâs voiceâtired, strained, but unmistakably his. He was joking with Max, his words clipped, like he was holding himself together with sheer willpower. It was enough to break their heart. They opened their messages with Max.
Thunder's Owner
Lanâs streaming with you rn?
Sent at 7:48 AM.
After a few seconds, Max replied.
Maximilian
Yeah heâs on voice-only.
Sent at 7:50 AM.
Gonna do something about him?
Sent at 7:50 AM.
Max knew. Of course he did. He probably heard the exhaustion in Landoâs voice, the edge self-loathing that came with overthinking. They typed back quickly:
Thunder's Owner
Yeah
Sent 7:52 AM.
Going to unplug his setup and drag him out of there.
Sent 7:52 AM.
Maximilian
Lol.
Sent 7:52 AM.
Iâll keep an eye out for when he disappears.
Sent 7:53 AM.
Thunder's Owner
Thx
Sent 7:54 AM.
They quietly made their way to Landoâs gaming room and eased the door open. Lando sat at his desk, controller in hand, headset clamped over messy curls. He looked worn down, his shoulders slumped as he focused on the screen. His voice through, muted put playful, as he bantered with Max.
For a moment, they just watched him. Even now, he was handsome, but the tiredness in his expression made their chest ache. He deserved rest. He deserved to feel okay. And he wasnât going to get that by sitting here punishing himself.
As soon as Lando died in-game and leaned back in his chair, they seized the opportunity. They crossed the room, catching his attention when they came into view.
âWhyâre youââ Lando began, frowning, but they didnât let him finish. Reaching down, they unplugged everything from the wall.
âWhat the hellââ he exclaimed, spinning around in his chair.
âNo,â they said firmly, cutting him off. âIâm not you hurt yourself anymore. Get up.â
Lando blinked, clearly taken aback. âYou canât just do that!â he protested, but they were already tugging gently at him arm, urging him out of his chair.
âAngel, what are youââ
âNo,â they repeated, their voice steady. âGet up,â
Lando hesitated for a moment before letting out a resigned sigh and standing. They took his hand, leading him out of the gaming room and down the hall to the living room. He didnât resist, but he followed like a man in a daze. Once they reached the couch, they turned to him. âSit,â they said, pointing at the cushions. Lando raised an eyebrow, opening his mouth to argue, but they shook their head. âStay.â
They turned to Thunder, who had been waiting for them in the hallway, and told him, âThunder, guard,â while pointing at Lando.
The dog immediately moved into position, standing alert in front of the couch. Landoâs eyes widened slightly as Thunder fixed him with an unblinking stare. He shifted as if to get up, but Thunderâs stance didnât waver.
âJeez, I wasnât going to get up,â he mumbled to Thunder, but Thunder just sat there and watched him until he fully relaxed back into the couch.
The thought ran through Landoâs head, how he had honestly forgotten how menacing his own dog could look. He knew Thunder was trained, saw reminders of it daily with how he interacted with his partner, but he was still shocked at how trained Thunder really was at that moment.
Thunder was still staring at him when he pulled out his phone from his pocket, opening up his texts with Max.
LN
I was just dragged out of my gaming room and told to sit on the couch and like a dog.
Sent at 8:05 AM.
Not against it, but how tf did they get so determined?
Sent at 8:05 AM.
Thunderâs watching me right now.
Sent at 8:06 AM.
I forgot how menacing he could be.
Sent at 8:06 AM.

Lol.
Sent at 8:06 AM.

Heâs like âtry me, I dare youâ
Sent at 8:06 AM.
LN
Yeah, I donât particularly want to try him
Sent at 8:07 AM.
Max (The 1st One)
Lol.
Sent at 8:07 AM.
They told me before they did it
Sent at 8:07 AM.
I just let them. Lol.
Sent at 8:07 AM.
LN
Helpful. What if they were trying to  kill me?
Sent at 8:08 AM.
They wouldnât have had to if you kept doing what you were doing.
Sent at 8:09 AM.
Landoâs let out a quiet sigh, Maxâs words sinking in. He glanced at Thunder, who hadnât moved, and felt a pang of guilt. Heâd pushed himself too far again, and this time it had clearly worried his partner.
A few minutes later, his partner walked back into their living room. He thought they looked beautiful, wearing one of his old t-shirts and a pair of boxers. They were entirely focused on the bowl they were carrying, and only looked up when they got close enough to hand it to him. He gently took the bowl, looked into it and saw it was one of his prep meals. While not his favorite breakfast, he knew he just needed to eat first, so he started taking bites.
He glanced up every so often, and each time he did, his partner was just sitting there and watching him eat. Lando almost chuckled at his own thought that they looked just like Thunder when watching him, and he smiled into his bowl at the thought. His partner didnât see his smile, but he continued to eat until he had finished the bowl.
When he was done eating, he set the bowl down, and his partner again pulled him up by the crook of his arm. He just let them do so, having a thought of what was going to happen next.
His partner led them both down the hallway to their bedroom, and opened the door, leading him to sit on their bed, then they turned around and went to close their blinds and draw their black-out curtains to cover up the sunlight from the window. They had turned on their bedside lamp earlier, and the soft orange glow of the lamp permeated the room. They walked past him again, going to close the door after letting Thunder in, then they walked back to their side of the bed, and pulled him to lie down against them.
As he settled against their chest, he felt a bit odd, it being a bit of a difference to feel how much he was loved by them. How much they cared for him. And he finally spoke again, âThank you.â
âAlways, Lan. Always.â They replied, pressing a kiss to his hair.
And for the first time in days, he let himself sleep.

Stiles Stilinski x female reader
a chemistry project with a lot of chemistry
a/n: (that was a funny one thanks)
warnings: none just fluff!!
Stiles Stilinski is the biggest worrier in the world. All his friends know it.
However Stiles, well he has no clue just how much he worries. He canât see it. Itâs normal to him.
But itâs evident now as he scouts his room, making sure itâs all clean. Plumping up the pillows on his bed. He wants this to be perfect. He wants you to think the best of him.
God youâre only coming for the chemistry project. Heâs acting like itâs an army inspection. That heâs going to get flamed if there is a spot of dust on his desk.
What if you think bad of him? What if youâre not comfortable? What if. What if. What if.
The doorbell signals your arrival and gives him a heart attack. Heâs having to mentally prepare himself for this for the past day. You sprung on the question of doing the project at his house. He got excited and said yes a little bit too fast. Now heâs rather regretting it.
Heâs had many people over to his house. And by many people he means Scott thousands of times.
Never has he had a girl over, especially not in his room.
âI got some chocolate if you want some?â Stiles says as he looks at you. Making sure youâre okay.
For the past couple hours Stiles has been checking in on you. And as sweet as it is. It is a lot.
âOr I can get you s-â
âStiles.â As you say his name he shuts up, for the first time ever Stiles is quiet. Not that it will last. âIâm okay. Thank you.â
You smile at him and all he can do is melt. He thinks youâre the most beautiful girl heâs ever seen. Heâs never felt this way about someone, not even Lydia. And that was bad.
From the moment you joined the school he knew he liked you. The way youâd crack jokes, be sarcastic and get anxious at a lot of things.
You were so similar to him it made him connect with you instantly.
âJust let me know if you need anything.â
Gosh is he the sweetest. Heâs been so kind to you since that day in chemistry where he invited you to sit with him. Joking between each other which eventually led you here. To his room.
On his bed.
âYouâve never watched Star Wars?!â Stilesâ eyebrows shoot up as he looks at you, sitting up a bit taller at your confession. God he is shocked out of his mind. âYouâve never watched Star Wars?!â He repeats again in utter disbelief. He feels heâs been stabbed in the heart. The girl he likes has bever seen his favourite franchise.
âIâm sorry!â You say as you hold your hands up in mock surrender. Smiling away as you look at him. Youâve noticed the posters of Star Wars in his room, the multiple shirts that are Star Wars themed that he owns.
Youâve just committed an act of treason in this house. âItâs just not my thing.â
âBut itâs one of the greatest franchises in the history of cinema. I mean the whole concept of another-â
Stiles continues to ramble on about it. Not even pausing for a breath as he just keeps talking. Thatâs one thing you have noticed about him. He never shuts up.
Ever.
So you decide to take things into your own hands. Literally.
Your hands cup his cheeks as you look at him. His mouth closing and eyes looking onto you. Staring at you as he freezes up.
You smile at him before he leans in and kisses you. One way to shut him up.
For at least a couple of seconds.
âShit Iâm so sorry! Iâm so sorry!â He says as he pulls away, panicking like heâs late for something. Heâs just fucked everything up. He thought it was going well too. Good job Stiles.
âYouâre okay. Itâs fine.â You say softly to calm the anxious boy down.
Unknown to him he didnât fuck it up. Not at all. Youâve been wanting him to kiss you ever since you first laid eyes on him. Embarrassingly youâve imagined it. Not that heâll ever know.
You grab his cheek again before pressing your lips to his, slowly kissing the boy thatâs been in your mind for the past month.
After a couple moments you pull back smiling. Stiles smile beaming on his face before he opens his mouth.
âStill canât believe you havenât seen Star Wars.â

I have this foreboding feeling that while we are prepared for Sae's and Shidou's backstory, Nagi's backstory is going to sneak from behind and punch us in the gut.
No, I don't think it's going to be straight up depression like Kaiser's, but I do think that it'll hit close to home.
You see, Nagi got Laissez-faire parents which means they never really interfered with his life. Like, these type of parentsâas I have read on some websitesâwill basically set their child free and let them do whatever they want with no or very few rules/restrictions. They will not tell you, "Oh! You should do this!" or "Oh! You shouldn't do this!" They will simply let you figure out your life all by yourself.
I'm not an expert on this and I'm not calling this type of parenting bad in any way. Every child is different with different needs, and I'm sure there are many who grew up in this kinda family and liked this parenting method. However, I do think that Nagi didn't like it that much, and I got two reasons to think this way:
1. "That's nice."
When Reo said that his family constantly meddles in his life, Nagi's immediate reaction was, "That's nice" instead of being surprised or disgruntled. If Nagi really liked his parents NOT meddling in his life, then he should've said something like, "Really!? Sucks to be you, Reo. I can't imagine living a life like that!"
You getting me?
Also, we all know how Nagi isâhe definitely feels that telling someone to do or not to do something is a hassle, so he, probably, feels that if someone is doing all this for you, then you are important for them.
And before any one says, no, I don't think Nagi was tying up his tongue thinking, "They are his parents. They wouldn't want anything bad for their own child, right? I shouldn't say anything against them and should say good things about them just to be safe." I don't think he has this kind of filter in him.
2. "Don't die ."
So, why would you not want someone to die? Of course, because you care for them and want them to be with you.
"Want"
That's really what I'm tryna highlight.
It's a pretty common knowledge that some children are just naturally more independent while others are a bit more dependent and seek guidance from the elders. Considering Nagi's first reaction to knowing about Reo's parents' meddling, I think that Kiddo!Nagi falls into the latter categoryâsomeone who likes to be guided and helped by the adults. Now, place Kiddo!Nagi with his Laissez-faire parents... You are getting where I'm going with this one?
That's why I think that Kiddo!Nagi, probably, thought that his parents didn't love him/care for him. And what happens if someone doesn't love you or care for you? Yeah, they don't care if you die which, somewhat, explains why Older!Nagi was happy to hear, "Don't die [before us (probably)]" from his parents.
I have already talked about his potential backstory before too, so it was actually when I heard he had longer bangs as a child that made my head turn to him againâsomething felt odd.
I understand that having long bangs is not a big dealâNiko's bangs literally cover his eyes, but having it as a kid is way different, y'know. Once you are like 12-13, you somewhat become capable of doing your own hair and clothes by yourself, so you can manage whatever aesthetics you prefer. However, for a kid younger than that, it's the parents' responsibility to look after his/her hair and clothes, and we all know that long bangs are quite bothersomeâblocks our vision, sometimes stabs the eyes, and even irritatingly itches the nose.
All in all, till his backstory drops, I'd firmly believe that he was, though unintentionally, a neglected kidâat least, emotionally.
Now I can't get this image out of my head where Kiddo!Nagi is longingly staring at other kids in a park where everyone is learning things like riding a bicycle or maybe playing baseball and stuff with their parents while he is just.. there, probably, all alone.

HELLOOOO?????? #idk idk idk like stolas was definitely going through it but HOLY SHIT you guys cant be serious when you say it was equal on both sides #when theres a very obvious clear systemic power imbalance. like youre FUCKING WITH ME?? you cant be serious rn.
Wow. This... sure is a lot of extremely bad faith misinterpretations of those scenes. I'm going to address all of this step by step, I guess, because my dude, you are wildly off the mark on basically everything you accused Stolas of. So I hope you're ready, because this reply is going to be very long.
"#i personally think that stolas had it wrong because even before blitzø started yelling #stolas thought blitzø didnt feel the same and immediately ditched as opposed to like?? giving him a fucking minute to process?? not cool??? #like yes the trauma response about being yelled at and setting boundaries and all that. thats fine #but Why stolas did you Immediately leave it wasnt even a rejection he just didnt Understand #give him a Fucking SECOND!!?? #which is smth blitzø also yells abt in full moon iirc! bc like DUH!!???"
Yeah no, Stolas had every right to walk away, and was 100% justified in doing so. Maybe it wasn't entirely fair to Blitz, because on his end of things it looked totally different, but you already seem to understand what it looked like from Blitz's pov, so since we're talking about whether they equally fucked up or not, then I want you to step back from that and think about how it looked to Stolas, too.
Blitz did not respond to Stolas' confession with "hold the fuck on" or "what the fuck?" or "what do you mean?", nor did he do literally anything at all to suggest that he was confused or needed a moment to process what Stolas was saying. Blitz's immediate, snap reaction was to go "ohhh, okay you're fucking with me! This is an interesting roleplay, never done this one before but I can get into it. 'Ohhh, Stolas, I'll stay with you~! I love you sooo much~!'"
Perhaps you've never experienced this, but let me assure you that it is soul-crushingly awful to confess something important to you to someone you trust, only for them to completely write it off as a joke and/or make fun of you for it. It's extremely humiliating and feels like a deep betrayal, because you trusted them and were vulnerable with them, and in return all you got was mockery.
I've asked a number of real life actual people who have all, without fail, said that if that happened to them they'd end the conversation right there and walk away. Most of them, including me, said they'd leave just so they could go cry in private, and one said that they'd basically say "fuck you" and leave because they were pissed off. Stolas was the former. Take a moment to really, genuinely think about what your own reaction would be to having someone you love and trust make fun of you after you confess something important and vulnerable. It doesn't have to be a love confession, mine certainly wasn't, but do you honestly think you'd want to stick around after that?
So Stolas would have been justified in walking away just from that. He was very kind as he took his leave too and tried to bow out as gracefully as he could without causing a fuss, which is made all the more impressive because Blitz unintentionally triggered Stolas' trauma with the roleplay bit. Stolas has lived with Stella for 18 years at this point in the timeline, and part of how she abused him was humiliating him and mocking his feelings. He hides it decently well with Stella, because he's had decades of practice at this point, but we see in Ozzie's that being humiliated, especially in public, is a trauma landmine that Blitz tripped right onto. Yeah, he's going to leave, and it's not a fault that he does.
Moreover, you'll notice that Stolas doesn't kick Blitz out here or tell him to leave. He walks away further into the house, and yes he's probably expecting that Blitz will take it as an opportunity to bounce, but he does not tell him to go. Blitz could have waited as he took the moment he needed and thought things over, and then talked and asked whatever questions he needed to after Stolas came back. It was his bedroom and it was midnight, it's not like Stolas wasn't going to come back within the next couple of hours. Or Blitz could have left, thought things over, and come back. Instead, he followed after Stolas, which wasn't a great feeling for either of them, because Stolas was only barely staving off a breakdown and Blitz was getting hit in that abandonment trauma all over again, but Stolas walking off scared him so he acted on the impulse to not let Stolas get away.Â
And he started off fine! Even though he was basically chasing Stolas, he wasn't angry or anything. He asked "wait, you were serious?! Hold on now, Stolas. What the fuck?" and Stolas did his best to answer even as he kept walking, rather than telling him to go away or kicking him out. His answer was poorly worded though and it set Blitz off, which is when we get to your next point.
#and there IS power imbalance in the way stolas just tosses blitzø outside via teleportation. #it DOES imply he thinks little of blitzø In That Moment bc hes 'seeing his abuser' #but like... he would not teleport stella outside like that. even when he asserted his boundaries w her he NEVER did that shit #it WAS disrespectful to blitzø. it was.
???? How on earth did you reach this conclusion?? Of course Stolas would never teleport Stella outside like that. That's not respect, that's fear. It took everything he had to stand up to Stella the way he did, which we know because he collapsed as soon as she was gone. He was terrified of her; he was backing away while she approached and knew she was about to hit him. He was fighting back, yes, but you can tell from her reaction that he almost never has in the past. It had nothing to do with respecting her, because his normal response seems to be either standing there silently taking the abuse or shrinking in on himself while trying to placate her.
As for what happened in the ballroom, Stolas was triggered for the second time in just a handful of minutes, this time by Blitz slamming open the door and yelling. It says absolutely nothing about how much Stolas does or does not respect him that these actions triggered a trauma response in Stolas. Trauma doesn't work like that. Anyone doing that to Stolas would have made him panic, because when you're experiencing a traumatic reaction, even if you're somewhere safe with someone you implicitly trust, your brain freaks the fuck out.
It was in no way disrespectful to kick Blitz out, it was just Stolas going into extreme Flight mode. Blitz wasn't letting him leave and at the end even ran towards him (to apologize, but Stolas had no way of knowing that and Blitz was already half out the portal before he started to say sorry and didn't even finish it. Also, you hear Stolas very faintly saying he's sorry before the portal closes), of course he's going to force Blitz out! He didn't want a fight with Blitz like he had with Stella, because he wasn't angry, he just wanted to be alone.
"and the immediate dismissiveness the next morning obv didnt fuckin help #cuz blitzø immediately went on the defensive and like yeah he said horrible shit but FUCK DUDE he didnt instigate it! #like yeah stolas doesnt have to sit there and take it EXCEPT HES THE ONE WHO FUCKING INITIATED THE ISSUE? SO YES HE KIND OF DOES HAVE TO#HEAR BLITZà OUT AND SIT THERE??"
No, he really, really does not have to sit there and hear Blitz out. Stolas made it very clear in actual words that he did not want to see Blitz right then, because he was feeling too raw so soon after everything and Blitz was not giving him any space to breathe. And Blitz, once again, did not leave. He also, you'll notice, didn't force Blitz to leave, he just asked him to go, because this time he wasn't outright panicking. And even then, he kept giving Blitz chances to talk things out with him, showing that he wasn't dismissing Blitz.
Also, you're really telling me that you think a victim of domestic violence should be forced to stick around when someone is yelling at them? It doesn't matter if he "initiated things", that doesn't mean he's going to okay when someone starts grabbing and yelling at him. If Blitz was being calmer about it, and wasn't continually intentionally mocking Stolas and his feelings throughout that conversation (which, again, big trigger for Stolas, he's just hiding it better now because he was braced for it. Note that he's reacting a lot like he did when Stella was mocking him at the party) then I might agree with you. If Stolas had actually instigated the garden scene by telling Blitz to come over and then refused to listen while Blitz tried to explain, that'd be super fucked up. But Stolas didn't ask Blitz to come over, explicitly told him to leave because it hurt to much to talk to him right then, and Blitz was not being calm. Blitz was self-destructing and was being both clingy and aggressive, because he was scared of losing Stolas but was even more terrified of being vulnerable, and he habitually masks his fear with anger.
"#puts my head in my hands. #and all the ppl talking abt ou well its stolas' house so he gets to portal blitzø out! #you are a fucking dick? you cant spring a huge relationship change on somebody and then run off and act the hurt party when they havent even #processed it yet! and then KICK THEM OUT when they understandably get ANGRY at you dismissing them? and HELLO. STOLAS DISMISSES BLITZĂ."
Buddy. Dude. Stolas didn't actually spring this on Blitz. Blitz literally says at the beginning of the episode that he's been avoiding Stolas because he knows Stolas wants to talk, and he doesn't want things to become complicated. He knows things will change as soon as he actually talks to Stolas and that freaks him out, because in his mind it can't possibly be something good, and this fear is exacerbated by what Loona told him. He literally tells Fizz that Stolas does things to show he likes him, and multiple people have flat out told Blitz that he does, and Blitz can't believe that for multiple reasons, but this entire thing has been building up for months and he knows it.Â
Stolas also did not spring his "feelings bullshit" on Blitz either, despite what Blitz claimed. It might have felt like it, because up until then he was in complete denial of those feelings being genuine, but Stolas has not been subtle, by any means. He has, in his and everyone else's minds, been showing Blitz that he cares about him at the very least as a friend, since this whole thing started. Even in fucking Loo Loo Land, despite him awkwardly trying to flirt with Blitz a couple of times, he doesn't actually try to start anything while they're there. He doesn't even seem to expect something sexual to happen between them at all, because he says he wants Blitz and his employees to come and immediately offers to pay Blitz with money, rather than sexual favors like Blitz anticipated. He's using it as an excuse to hang out with Blitz - because he's an idiot who didn't think about how uncomfortable it'd be for literally everyone involved, especially Octavia - and Blitz even knows that because he knows Stolas doesn't actually need one bodyguard, let alone three.
He invited all of them to the harvest moon festival because he thought it'd be fun, again with no expectation of anything sexy happening. He came to rescue I.M.P. with no ulterior motive, he just wanted to help them. He didn't ask for or suggest that he wanted sex in return for the save either, he just asked for a thank you in a very pouty voice because none of them thanked him, and Blitz turned things sexual, which he was happy to follow the lead on. He was super excited for the date, dressed up super fancy, proudly walked into Ozzie's holding Blitz's hand, tried over and over to talk to Blitz because he thought it was a real date, stood up to defend Blitz from Verosika (which Blitz didn't see and which he didn't get to follow through on, because Ozzie took that chance to go on the attack and publicly humiliate him), and even after that disaster he still invited Blitz in solely to hang out and maybe cuddle a bit.
He would ask Blitz to stay the night after they were done having sex instead of just kicking him out, which we see in the memory fragments. He called Blitz on the regular just to talk about his day and was frequently interacting with him on social media, both for approximately a year and a half. He was oblivious to how condescending his attempts at flirting were and had no idea how demeaning it was for Blitz until Blitz finally showed him how much all that hurt him (after Ozzie's), but he only was acting like that and talking that way because he genuinely believed that it was what Blitz wanted and was into, based on their first night together (doesn't excuse it, of course, but it was another way he was desperately trying to show how much he wanted Blitz).
For close to two years by the time The Full Moon rolled around, Stolas has been trying very hard and kind of ineptly to show Blitz he likes him, and at the very least wants to be real friends with him (that also have sex). Literally everyone who has seen them together knows how much Stolas likes Blitz, including Blitz despite him being in denial of it. He has tried again and again and again for nearly two years to show Blitz he cares about him and wants him around, and Blitz - for understandable reasons given his own trauma, history, biases, and hangups - has rejected him time and again. That's why Stolas was expecting Blitz to reject him following his confession. He expected Blitz to tell him to fuck off or to just take the crystal and run without looking back, but he didn't expect to be (unintentionally) mocked. He didn't expect Blitz, who he trusted, to humiliate him. Even without the trauma he has surrounding that, after all the other rejections of course Stolas is going to take Blitz mocking him as another rejection. He didn't think Blitz was confused, because he thinks he's made his feelings pretty damn clear for ages now, and that's why he said he had his answer and was trying to leave before he started crying - which most people hate to do, because crying in front of other people is often a mortifying experience.
"STOLAS DISMISSES BLITZĂ.#HES NOT ONE OF YOUR SERVANT IMPS DUDE! HELLOOOO?????? #idk idk idk like stolas was definitely going through it but HOLY SHIT you guys cant be serious when you say it was equal on both sides #when theres a very obvious clear systemic power imbalance. like youre FUCKING WITH ME?? you cant be serious rn"
He wasn't dismissing Blitz. He super fucking did not. He wanted to be alone so he could go cry his guts out, and Blitz was scaring him by getting angry and slamming open doors. That's not dismissing someone, that's going into panic mode. He wasn't treating him like a servant, if he was he would have been bored and unaffected and told him to go. He. Was. Scared. He was hurt and humiliated and scared and Blitz was chasing him down and yelling at him. It's not playing the victim to be scared and it's not playing the victim when your feelings get mocked and you want to get away from the person who just stomped all over your heart.
Blitz's reactions make sense from his end, and absolutely he was being triggered too - he was in fact the one triggered first, though that too was by accident. Yes, his anger was justified and he had every right to express it when he felt he wasn't being listened to. Yes, he wasn't intending to scare Stolas. Yes, Stolas has messed up and hurt Blitz in numerous ways over the course of the series. But my god, that does not mean that Stolas' feelings and reactions are any less justified and reasonable.
It was equal on both sides. They both equally fucked up. They both accidentally hurt and triggered each other. They both were scared. Stolas sending Blitz away was the only thing he could think of to de-escalate the situation, because Blitz was actively trying to pick a fight and Stolas had no idea that Blitz would stop just because he started crying (you think anyone else has ever stopped just because he cried? We literally see both Stella and Paimon mock him for it, and Stolas isn't exactly in a rational sort of mindset here).
Are you really, honestly, truly telling me that you would be fine just standing there and letting someone who just hurt you scream at you in a way that reminded you of both your domestic abuser and the person who recently tried to murder and mutilate you? Are you kidding me? You have completely misinterpreted everything Stolas has said and done in those two episodes by refusing to look at it with any amount of sympathy or compassion and immediately jumping to the worst possible scenario.
"Stolas shouldn't have portalled out Blitz during Full Moon" this and "Stolas should have stuck around and listened to Blitz in the garden during Apology Tour" that. Do y'all not realize how it sounds to demand that a domestic abuse victim stick around when someone is yelling at and insulting them? And on the flip side of that, do the other half of y'all not realize how it sounds to demand that someone, particularly someone from an oppressed group, never get loud or demonstrably angry just because it might scare someone?
Like Blitz had every right to air his grievances in Full Moon, and being angry when you're treated poorly is a perfectly normal, reasonable response. It's not inherently abusive to yell and stomp when you get mad, and it's completely unreasonable to say that Blitz is just because he did. But at the same time, Stolas does not have to sit there and take being yelled at when he's already had to suffer though someone doing it to him maliciously for at least 17 years. He does not have to take being grabbed, being screamed at, or having his clearly stated boundaries ignored either, like at the beginning of Apology Tour. Him getting upset when someone does that to him, when he's only just gotten away from his abuser and was almost murdered for it, is not some failing on his part or him playing the victim.
Blitz's trauma doesn't care that Stolas wasn't actually going to abandon Blitz, and it doesn't care that that the hurtful things Stolas has said and done have come largely from a place of ignorance rather than a lack of care. He's protecting himself the only way he knows how and is blinded by the sheer intensity and longevity of his self-loathing, but frankly it was a good thing for him to finally speak up about how some of the things Stolas does makes him feel, and it's a very good thing that he's actually trying to fight to keep Stolas rather than just booking it and throwing a grenade behind him on the way out.
Just like Stolas' trauma doesn't care if he knows Blitz is different than Stella and wouldn't actually hurt him, and it doesn't care that Blitz's anger comes from a hurt, scared, and traumatized place as opposed to the pleasure Stella took in hurting and scaring him. Stolas hasn't had any time to even begin to heal from the damage she did to him, and frankly if he's scared and breaking down like in Full Moon it's actually a step up if he's removing himself from whoever is triggering him, even if it wasn't fair to Blitz who was, in his own way, attempting to work things out.
Neither of them is the bad guy here, they're just very reasonably upset and having clashing trauma responses. You can be compassionate and understanding of both sides without saying that either of them should have to just sit there and take it when someone is greatly upsetting them. It's normal to get angry when you're scared and upset, and it's normal to cry and run away when you're scared and upset, and neither are wrong or bad just because in the moment when emotions were running high they each did several things that accidently set the other off, especially when they had no way of knowing it was a trigger beforehand.
None of this is say that the way things shook out was great or productive, and they definitely need to work on healing so that they're not letting their fear and trauma control them. If they're going to get to place of real understanding, then at some point these two need to sit down with the intent to talk things out and have an honest and open conversation with each other, without Blitz yelling or Stolas running or either of them letting their preconceived assumptions and biases get in the way of actually listening. Blitz needs to not self-sabotage and Stolas needs to not shut down, and that's going to be really fucking hard for both of them, because that's how they've been coping with their trauma for literal decades.
And to his major credit, Blitz got it right at the end of Apology Tour, the only thing he got wrong was the timing because Stolas was so drunk that I'll be honestly surprised if he remembers most of it in the morning. He wasn't in any state of mind to listen or pay attention, but at the same time, to his credit he's already been reflecting on what Blitz has been saying to him and trying to figure out where and how he fucked up and hurt Blitz. And also, he kept saying things like "right now", which means he will be ready to talk things out eventually if he's just given a little bit of space to put himself back together and think about things.
And guys, please. Just because some people will start crying to try to manipulate and guilt trip those around them whenever someone gets upset at something they did, doesn't make that what Stolas did. He was trying to get away so Blitz wouldn't see him cry. And just because some people like to fly off the handle and rage at every perceived infraction, doesn't make that what Blitz did. He had justifiable cause to be angry and in Full Moon he didn't think Stolas was listening, so he tried to make himself louder and bigger in an attempt to make himself be heard and his hurt be acknowledged. If one of their reactions made you uncomfortable, that's fine, there's nothing wrong with that. But the story isn't about those kinds of people, it's about two fictional demons who aren't trying to hurt or manipulate each other, they're just struggling to juggle trauma, ignorance, and the desire to be together. They're not able to yet, but that's what character arcs are for.
And just to head off any comments on it: no, the narrative is not villifying Blitz and it's not babying Stolas or trying to sweep any of the shit he's done under the rug. Blitz being angry and self-destructive doesn't make him a villain, and Stolas crying a few times and still being pretty ignorant of how he's come across doesn't mean they're trying to say he's done nothing wrong.
#replies#sorry for being so longwinded#but wow#we don't stand for Stolas bashing in this house#we don't stand for Blitz bashing either but that's a bit beside the point in this case

The only way i could see Canon Katara interested on Zuko is if he somehow did his Heel Turn long before the start of the show and has become a freedom fighter akin to Jet, but without the murder.
Obviously, this is impossible, there is no way that a young Zuko could become a better person without his exile, his enviroment is just not place that encourage
Sorry for the last question i send, i made a mistake and send it sooner than i wanted.
But anyway, what i tried to say that, even if that ridiculous scenario that i propossed where to happen, Zuko would be a very different characther from his Canon self. Plus even if he has become Katara's type, there is no way to know if Katara would be Zuko's type on that scenario lol
***
Once again, guys: pre-scar and exile Zuko was already dealing with a ton of bagagge, and post-redemption Zuko was already a "freedom fighter but without the murder." Katara saw him at this worst during all of book one, at his somewhat less of dick moments (Ba Sing Se), and at his best after his redemption - and she wasn't attracted to him at any of these points.
"I don't support war, genocide and/or murder" is the bare minimum for Katara to not want somebody dead. Compassion is an obligation, not something that immediately makes a guy be a potential boyfriend in her eyes.
We have the answer of what would take for her to be into Zuko, and that answer is not "He can't be a villain anymore" but rather "He can't be Zuko." He can't be a dork that says the wrong thing in a funny way, she'd get mad. He can't want to live in the Fire Nation, there's nothing there for her. He can't be as stubborn as she is, otherwise they're gonna fight (just look at how many times she fights with Toph). He can't take himself too seriously, she'll just mock him for it (ask Sokka).
She wants the guy that literally sweeps her off her feet to charm her, or the guy that notices she's feeling left out at a party, dances with her, and smoothly tells her to ignore everyone's eyes on them because "it's just you and me." She would NOT react well to a guy that screams "SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!" in the middle of their date (just see how well it worked for Aang when he went "I mean, if it was between kissing you and dying")
And we do know what Zuko's type is: Mai. Gloomy yet sweet, bitchy yet unbothered, out-spoken yet doesn't feel she owes anybody any explanations ever, can handle herself but likes being pampered, apathetic yet caring, has nothing prove yet can be quite arrogant, stubborn yet understanding, aloof to the world in general yet obviously crazy about him in particular.
Zuko might catch brief feelings for someone like Jin (nice, sweet and cheery), but long-term he needs someone as messy as himself so he can relate, but with the kind of mess that balances him out instead of encouraging his worst traits - the yin to his yang. He was not kidding when he said "You're so beautiful when you hate the world"
Katara loves life in general too much for her and Zuko to relate to each other in that regard. She doesn't even know what the word "apathy" means. She doesn't have an "unbothered" bone in her body. Girl went through a ton of trauma and still wasn't anywhere near gloomy, quite the contrary. And she has a bad temper, just like Zuko, which they both know is a bad combo, hence them surrounding themselves with more chill people (Aang, Iroh, Hakoda, Mai, etc).
They're not each other's type AT ALL, hence there being no spark when they become friends. Hence them being not just embarassed, but weirded our and uncomfortable when people mistake them for a couple.
There's a reason zutara fics re-write their personalities completely: there's no other way to force them together because they're fundamentally incompatible. The real Zuko would NEVER be attracted to the real Katara, and vice versa.
