Another day in the lab

I want to see Viktor have to face a situation where Jayce is the one whose life is at risk. If it’s a disease, an injury, or actively bleeding out in Viktor’s arms I want it.

Cuz I feel like Viktor has known all his life he’ll have a shortened lifespan. And I think he purposefully keeps himself closed off so he doesn’t develop attachments. What’s the point? The best scenario would be his loved ones would sad for a time and then eventually move on. He says it’s best for others to go without the pain, but really he’s scared of his loved ones moving on. So he doesn’t have loved ones. And that works fine for Viktor.

But then something happens to Jayce. Viktor has never considered the idea that Jayce may depart before Viktor. He’s not prepared for this. He thought his own death was scary but seeing Jayce weak and pale, barely holding onto consciousness, and Viktor’s heart is gripped by a cold fear he hasn’t felt in a long time.

I want to see Viktor desperate, begging. For Jayce to stay awake. Viktor trying to think of some sort of solution. Crying, sobbing, pleading, demanding.

This wasn’t fair, Viktor was supposed to go first he wasn’t suppose to see Jayce this way. Now Viktor has to regret that he could never be more open and honest with Jayce. That if Viktor knew he would have to live without his partner instead of just dying he would have… he would have…

I want his cool, analytical exterior to drop. I want Viktor to see what it feels like on the other side; to see your loved one dying in front of you and being powerless to do anything about it. I want Viktor to become a complete animal in his grief. Losing himself to the feeling of panic and loss.
