I really do like Jason more than Percy. There's a long paragraph in the Mark of Athena where Piper says Percy isn't her type. I don't want to transcribe it all immediately, but like…yeah, I get it. To paraphrase Piper: Percy looks like a trouble making kid she'd see at the Mall. A skater kid she'd steer clear of. And yeah, me too. If I went to school with him in real life, doubt i'd love him. I always hated the kids who talked back and made trouble. Even if Percy isn't a bad guy, the fact he's even capable of giving off these vibes makes him less appealing than Jason.

Because Jason has this honour, this kindness, this discipline about him. He seems way more serious, in a way that feels almost way more relatable. Or something to that effect. I lost my train of thought halfway through this, but I hope I still make some kind of sense here. And also (just to try and end this with one more point): Tempest is just cooler then Blackjack. A storm spirit, crackling and pulsating with energy? Riding a storm cloud? I'm sorry, but that's just so much cooler. I hate heights too, so the fact that Tempest doesn't have wings is a slight positive, too.

I know I begin this note by acting like I don't like Percy, but that's not true. I do like him. I swear by all the gods, I like him. But I just like Jason and Nico and Leo and a lot of other characters more. He's important to me, but I like a lot of other characters more. And I don't say that as any insult to him.

Ok. I just need to take a moment and say I absolutely love how Wally's reactions while dodging an alien hurtling towards him out of his 𝘞𝘐𝘍𝘌'𝘚 mouth are normal, but then his finishing expression and pose is like a Greek statue.

His face just goes from pure shock to ✨𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤✨.

Honestly, it gives me "I want you to draw me like one of your French girls" vibes.

i'm not much for crossovers in the the traditional sense, but it IS one of my favorite character exploration exercises to just go like 'if x media existed in this universe, who would and would not be a fan of it?'. and these ones are pretty notorious and always very fun to mess with for that and so here we are

In the first drawing he frowns with concentration, sticking out his tongue as he stares at a purple seed in his palm (the kind that Draxum uses to create vines) and gestures with his other hand. A small purple vine stems from the seed. In the second drawing, he moves his arm outward and the vine shoots up, curling over his head. He looks at it excitedly and says "Yes, yes!!" End I.D.]

I've decided, building on this post, after Stockman is told that manipulating vines is really hard and takes a super long time to learn that he decides to teach himself how to do it out of spite. Man is about 3 seconds away from losing control and sending that vine through his ceiling <3

While I've got the general design of him pinned down in my head, the colours are still a bit abstract to me. I imagine him having brown somewhere in his palette but for some reason, every sketch of him elicits a different variation.

I lean towards 8, though.

(The outfit isn't important by the way, he'll be one of the few characters I draw whose clothing will vary between appearances. Despite this, I do have a 'main/default outfit' already set in mind.)

to the people who hate eddie diaz: how does it feel knowing that evan buckey despises you? like for real, he is disgusted by you. he would let a building burn to the ground with you inside it as he watches all geared up in his firefighter uniform <3 not only is eddie your favorite person's favorite person in the whole world but eddie's enemies are buck's enemies. so yeah get ready to die at buck's hands.
