Peter ending up at the Stilinski's house after the fire as "suspiciously large dog" and getting nursed back to health by Stiles.

Thoughts? 👀

I think Noah is pretty dubious about the large “dog” he finds Stiles with when he gets home, but he’s also helpless when his son looks up at him with those big brown eyes and wobbling lower lip and says, “Dad, he’s hurt. We have to help him!”

But the thing is, it turns out Peter’s not healed in wolf form, but the wounds he suffered in the fire basically disappeared under his skin. I dunno, it’s some weird shifter magic. So the vet is like, “I don’t know what’s wrong with him. He seems fine physically.” (Is this a metaphor for invisible illness? Or for the wounds we have that nobody can see? Maybe)

Even Noah can see that the dog isn’t okay, and he really hopes that it doesn’t have some weird illness it can somehow pass on to Stiles, but he doesn’t stop Stiles from taking care of the dog.

Stiles doesn’t know why the dog isn’t okay, but he clearly isn’t. It’s hard for him to walk. He sleeps for hours at a time, and sometimes when he’s awake, he lets out mournful howls that send a shiver down Stiles’s spine.

Stiles will never know how much he’s really doing to heal Peter. Peter thinks he might have been stuck in pain for years if he hadn’t stumbled upon this boy. Stiles pets him constantly, cuddles with him at night, coos soft encouraging words to him when he howls. His love and loyalty is like pack, and it allows Peter to heal from his wounds much more quickly.

Stiles names the dog Thor, and he could swear it rolls his eyes at him whenever he says it, but he still comes when Stiles calls.

Thor refuses to wear a collar or leash, but he follows Stiles to school every day once he’s doing better, and he’s always waiting when Stiles gets out. This would be awesome anyway, but it’s extra awesome because Stiles gets bullied all the time, and now nobody bothers him to or from school anymore since Thor will place himself between Stiles and the bullies and growl viciously until they run away. It’s good for Scott too, because it wasn’t doing his asthma any favors when he and Stiles had to make a run for it.

So yeah, the Stilinskies end up having a dog. Kind of. I say kind of, because it’s not really a typical owner and pet situation. Thor is ungovernable. He comes and goes when he pleases. He never seems hungry, but he also rarely eats the food Stiles puts out for him.

Noah won’t admit it to Stiles, but Thor does seem to understand more than the average dog. He’s also huge, which would be disconcerting if Noah didn’t have clear proof that Thor would protect them with his life. All in all, it’s a strange situation, but soon neither of the Stilinskis can imagine a life without their dog.

Friday Nights are so uncomfortable

Something that always Bugs me is that in every fanfic or novel of TNBC they always make the citizens of Halloweentown bullies. They are not they literally say in the opening that’s their job but they are not mean. They are different but are kind they are except people as they are and are welcoming it really bothers me that in the mobilization of the movie and LLTPQ Sally is treated badly but everyone in town. I mean in the movie when she becomes part of the community they welcome her and let her socialize with them it was refreshing that in Disney Dreamlight Valley Sally says that her good friend werewolf use the bake together showing that they are kind and friendly.

I pretty much agree with you! I don't see any of the Halloween Town Citizens being needlessly mean -- they get along with each other in the movie, and you can easily assume it's a tight-knit community where everyone knows one another and is a generally friendly place. I wouldn't doubt if there are arguments and some instances where they don't along + agree with each other, but with how quickly they worked together and banded for Jack's Christmas, I see that as a more rare thing to happen.

The citizens being unkind to Sally is something that's curious to me -- she sits on the Hanging Tree's branch during the Town Meeting, and the Halloween Town Band play music for her and look concerned when she jumps out of the window. Even if she is the 'outlier' in Halloween Town, they don't hate her and still get along. After all, they attempted to understand and were curious about Jack's Christmas, so I can't see Sally being "strange" to them as a good reason for any hostility.

On the other hand...trying to work in a setting where everybody gets along all the time wouldn't have much happening, so I understand the need in any fanworks or official stuff to bring up some conflict like that. I and others have, at least once, portrayed the Witches being unkind to Sally from their jealousy with Jack Skellington, but stuff like that usually gets resolved and it's nice to see the characters going through emotions and learning from them.

It's something that can easily get exaggerated and out-of-hand, though!

Our Triple Halloween Nights will be concluding tomorrow afternoon, and it is a monumental one! This week marks the one-year anniversary of the Duckblr Movie Nights server's creation, and to celebrate, we will be rewatching the episode that kicked off the watch party sessions: "The Trickening!" Furthermore, to keep in line with the Day of the Dead theming thanks to the selected movie, we also fittingly chose a Three Caballeros episode. To be more precise, we will also be rewatching "The Town Where Everyone Was Nice!", which was part of Three Caballeros Night (the same watch party that claimed victory in my first "Best Movie/All Episodes Night" poll)!

Whether you're here for the scares, to remember those who have passed, or to celebrate the Discord server's first anniversary, it is a watch party of all occasions!

at this point I think I still only have the ruby AU so I can say one of my self-inserts actually gets to interact with him, haha (in this case it’s Linaria). But, since Clio takes the role of KHUX’s Player, she also gets to meet him and interact with him! which is fun

May his story finally be further told once Missing Link stops being missing..
