I'm gonna be uhhh. egotistical isnt the word I'm looking for. whatever I like to think that I am a little bit of an authority on what small rural towns *can* be like, and as much as I like the idea of sonic getting to be involved in the community and openly existing or even going to school. I just cant picture it. king would be suffocating

#[gnawing and biting]#ashjdjgjg i think i don't want to live in vienna after all#i'm by nature an easily depressed person and in some places it's too easy to make your life revolve around dead people and death at large!!#i had a lot of fun on my trip but i also had some terrible times#mostly the part where i was sick#one thing that i think would pose a major issue long term is the insanely narrow opening hours for supermarkets - in germany many stay#open until 10 pm. closest one to my hotel in vienna closed at 7:30 pm...#also i just can't deal with big crowds and tourists in my living environment full time dhhfhfgh i always need to be somewhere away and#voluntarily go into the tourist parts only if i want to#like how in cambridge it was insane in the center but i would walk 30 minutes every morning from by the train tracks :') a nice quiet#residential street and i could shop at the local sainsbury's and only go to the historic city centre when i felt like it and could prepare#so like i have to live in a quiet area but within reasonable distance of (and with good transport to!) a more exciting busy area#but um yeah now i have to awkwardly tell everyone irl that i've been talking about it to that i don't actually want to do it anymore xD#it's ok i still want to live Somewhere Interesting with historical stuff...#if i manage not to have a mental breakdown that is ahshhdjdkf#i like my current town a lot :')

i got the best and worst booster box ever i pulled three blue eyes. but this was pokemon and it was the fucking duck. quaxlys evolution. i got a bunch of everything cause its a booster box but i pulled three quaquavals. i did it like an advent calendar with my friend. we opened maybe five packs the day we bought it and restrained ourselves for a month and had a pack a day it was so fun pulling these!
the third quaquaval was the rare one but not the gold one and i was so mad lmao it was the second last pack. forreal! and my pulls other than the full art wooper (lets fucking gooo) were shit i wanted a clodsire! i pulled one buying three packs a few days later no big deal lmao but i was so mad at this box.
the last pack had the rare tinkaton. i also got a full art boss's orders too im so happy it was such a funny fucking box in the end i pulled three fucking blue eyes i swear if i saw a fourth quaquaval too early i mightve actually ripped it in half. my problem is I LOST THEM ON THE FUCKING BUS AND LIKE MY WALLET ITS FATE IS WITH THE HUMANS OF OTTAWA AND THE FUCKERS AT OC TRANSPO THAT I TRUST SO MUCH FUCK MY LIFE

#i had the longest weekend on the planet#shitshow of a funeral with the most dysfunctional side of my family#and then my uncle never made it home and he's diabetic so we can't just wait for him to turn up again#i made a chain of logical leaps that felt right in the moment but are confusing even to me in hindsight#but with one phone call i found him in jail in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere and then drove two hours to bail him out#all this while I was badly sunburned on my period and covered in poison ivy blisters#did a kafkaesque little routine where every lobby we went into at the jail was empty and there was just a phone on the wall#and someone on the other end would say oh go into the next door down#and that would also be an empty dark room with a phone on the wall where they said to go one more door down#several times in a row#finally found an inhabited part of the building and talked to a sherriff while trying to hold all my arms and legs behind my back#to hide the horrible yellow crusty blisters all over my skin. look like an actual plague victim. feel worse.#keeping it together because i am Handling The Situation#my uncle was so happy to see us he cried#he'd been trying to call for help all day but the jail phone was showing up as Scam Call on everyone's cell#I was hailed by the family as Brilliant Detective: Finder and Rescuer#I went home and laid very still for many hours#anyway in between crises I got to spend a few hours at the beach and that was nice.

#the wedding was lovely and i am so sad#managed to get most of the sad out of the way Friday and Sunday so i could be glad for them on the actual wedding day#but still. i'm going to miss her.#we always talked about living together and we never did and now we probably never will#i've got a model of married folk living together in community but i don't think they do and it has to be something you choose#her family are lovely and i was really glad to meet her friends and cousins that she talks about so often but they don't really get it#they get to have her!!! she's moving somewhere that's more convenient for literally everyone other than me! (this is not hard to do)#really good to get home and hug my dad and my little sister and have people who are my people around#was actually really good at the reception that there were a few other folk from my current town - i wasn't the only person who was#mixed joy and tears#i said something about us giving her over in my speech and they said yes that's exactly how we're feeling#but it wasn't till her husband responded to that in his speech that i started crying#everyone has been so kind to me but it has been SO good to get home#hoping i can get a bit more sleep as well. emotions are bigger when tired even though they're real still#(her cousins invited me to come stay any time and tbh i can see that living in Auckland could be actually really nice if you live where they#do. but i couldn't live where they do and do the work i want to do it is quite far away from the places in Auckland i could imagine working)#rowena adventures#btw no photos of me currently but probably some later??? not that we took many the groom had been sick the previous week and was#still pretty wiped so they got like two photos with the bridal party and ten with just them and that was it

every time i think the "staff can do no wrong and any form of complaining or expressing literally anything other than "yaaay love it <3" with no further comments is bashing and literally evil we should never say anything that could even potentially be interpreted as mildly critical ever because ~some artist who worked hard on this is probably reading the forums and might feel bad if we ever express anything but praise~ also we must be constantly positive at all times unless we're passive-aggressively shaming someone for having an extremely polite and apologetically worded criticism and if you ask the staff for literally anything you had better be prepared to preface it with 3 paragraphs of apologizing for breathing air" attitude is bad on tumblr, i take one look at the forums, and holy fucking hell is it SO much worse on site
