Creepy bug themed villains my beloved.

Some people say these villains are creepy and were scared of them as a kid. Heck, some are even still creeped out by them years later when they're older.
However, it did the opposite effect on me, because I really love them as villains. (Which I'll admit is ironic for me, I really dislike bugs and spiders)
Alao, their designs are so fucking cool. (Say what you will about Oogie being a literal sack), but they do their jobs at frightening people and the audience pretty damn well.

((I adore Sally so so much, but hear my cry, lorde, can we give other characters some lore/depth in the spinoff media))

Shared in TNBC Club yesterday - some new Nightmare Before Christmas Little Golden Books are set to release in this year! 'I Am Oogie Boogie' will release on July 1st while another interesting addition, Welcome to Valentine's Town, is planned for December 23rd. (Cover coming soon!)
I'm intrigued to see spinoff books like these finally coming around to showcasing the other Holiday Towns/worlds, even though Little Golden Books are only a few pages and are meant for young children. The artwork for this series is stunning and I'm glad they're continuing the TNBC 'I Am' lineup! Here's hoping we get the Mayor or Boogie's Boys next!

Maybe it's just me, but I think Maleficent and Oogie Boogie are slightly similar.
That being that they both enjoy instilling fear into others.
Ok, hear me out, instilling fear is Maleficent's whole reason why she crashed Aurora's celebration. (Besides being petty)
She knew that she wasn't feared enough to have an invitation sent her way to keep her at bay. So when she noticed, she intended to frighten and torment them by cursing Aurora to die.
Basically, she targets people when she knows that they aren't afraid of her. Then she strikes.
Oogie is similar, as he likes to frighten the poor people in his lair slowly before he kills them off (like what he tried with Santa and Sally)
However, I'd say that the difference is that Maleficent has restraint and only targets people when she's aware they don't fear her. Then she's basically satiated.
Oogie on the other hand, just likes to torment people for his own amusement and goes all out whenever some poor person literally drops into his lair.
