My first artfight attack! I've loved @tofupixel's pixel art for a long time so I jumped at the chance to do my rendition of Icon...plus it was an excuse to draw a bunch of eyes ^u^

If you don't already follow Tofu you should btw! Same with just about everyone I'll be attacking. >:3

also guys maybe the reason vegans are always angry and depressed is because they actually pay attention to whats happening to animals and our planet and use their energy to try change that, maybe its a bit frustrating when we live in a society (we live in a society...) where veganism is made fun of and disregarded despite the support for other movements towards battling climate change and abuse! like of course youd be depressed if you're trying your best to reach out to people about this huge issue and all they can think of is 'haha snowflake soy boy' and 'im just gonna eat double the meat hahahaha' the more i think about it the more heartless these people seem because we have concrete evidence that we need to change and all we can do is make jokes about abusing animals and draining our earths resources all bc we like the taste of something ?!

Basketball bad boys, anyone?

Yeah, so these are my Kirisaki Daiichi redesigns. The uncrowned kings and their respective squads have all the fun potential and I intend to use it.

Kirisaki Daiichi and Hanamiya being the most slept on team for character design of them all because you can’t make a canonical “bad boy” team and not have them be emo, goth, and punk for the funsies. For the visual “pen egg chest qua” (je ne sais quoi). For the fun, stereotypical edgelord flair we all deserve to indulge in every now and then.

Makoto’s og design simply didn’t scream spider enough for me and I was tired of so many key characters having this longish, same shade of black hair (him, Himuro, Mibuchi, etc). Like, I know giving the black and brown a colored tint can subtract from the uniqueness of the GOM, but not even a little? So, yeah, fuck allat, I’m using desaturated colors every now and then.

I also loved drawing Makoto in some casual clothes and much needed drip. Villains are required to serve most. I wanted to draw the rest of them in some casual outfits because trust Kojiro and honestly all of them dress immaculately but life and time restraints. Maybe later.

Story wise, each player and Makoto maybe have their own reasons for turning to hurting others through basketball and I hope you catch some of the story threads I threw in. Whether or not they deserve or have the capacity to change is entirely up to you all with Makoto having the most potential to be entirely complex or cartoonishly evil (I like both). I’m a sucker for a bit of character complexity and things that leave room for interpretation.

Sometimes knb can be very black and white in its themes…

The problem with this guy is that he has no bottom line. His ethics is preferences and suggestions, not a line he won't cross.

He puts an impressive amount of effort into doing the right thing but once he realises his goal can't be achieved with ethical means he expresses his deep regret about the fact and pushes further. With all other means in his disposal, some rather unsavory.

Some would say "children" but no, Liyue has plenty of children, he had no guarantee Morax would save everyone quickly enough.

This is a pretty interesting dynamic, morally grey guys are usually the opposite: they don't care much about ideals or have questionable ideals but there are moments when they stop and say "I won't do this". This one doesn't stop.

And I think a lot of people who demonise him pick up on this trait, even if they don't put it into words.

This also makes his family even more important. If there's anything that can stop this guy it's them.

(I'm also curious about him always keeping his word. his loyalty is to people, not principles, but keeping promises is a bit of both. so maybe he has exactly one principle and that's his bottom line

but then guys in all the previous iterations of his samsara seemed to break their word in one way or another)

Ironically, this is also why he is so idealistic. It's easy when in a critical situation you can just decide "well, I'm evil anyway" and push the pesky ideal aside.

(it's not bigotry, he still genuinely believes in everything, he just goes the "oh well, it's an ideal I couldn't uphold because I'm a bad person" route instead of "maybe something is wrong with the ideal")

summary (more of a footnote but whatever) : simon 'ghost' riley with a civilian reader who loves animals heals me in some unspoken language <3

notes: mentions of past trauma (ghost), mentions of animal abuse (ghost), fluff and (maybe) hurt/comfort ?? not proofread; 639 words

He knew his footsteps would always leave a trail, no matter how lightly he treaded or how stealthy he was. He'd killed hundreds after all, all in the name of the world's safety- a legal killer, worthy of purging the unclean as classed. Not to mention the remnants of his past that always followed, violence and abuse and his family always legible in his surroundings like a ghost. He'd always wondered whether his stain had hurt the world more than healed it.

And then there was you, with your light treads and invisible presence and pretty smile. You were everything his hardships had prevented him from being- so much softer and warm and wholeheartedly loved. Always avoiding the bloodied fields of war and doing your best to slip through the world undetected. Simeon had always known that he never deserved anyone, let alone someone like you. And yet you still traced the markings on his calloused hands, talked to him with that bubbly voice of yours, held his face despite the black medical mask that would cover it. You held your world in your hands, and his world was right in front of him.

Your presence is a gentle hand to his marred and bleeding one.

But still, he can't help but glance twice at any snake he sees. His suvorexant holds him down through the nightmares instead of alleviating them. It almost feels to him like he's betraying you when he can feel his chest tighten when you scoop the stray cat up into your arms amidst the cascading rain, ignoring it's indignant hisses and the hair that now messied your formerly clean sweater. He can make the figure of his father in the darkest corners of the alleyway, mangled carrion bodies and blood in the garbage bags of the trash can.

" should put the lad back, doll. " he does his best to hide the grit in his tone.

You only reply with avid pouts of refusal. "it's pouring, si !! I'm not leaving some poor, defenceless animal in the rain !!"

His expression softens. He trusts you; he truly does. But the smell of dog blood is still cloyingly bitter in his nose, and it’s a scent that still stings at his brain.  It's too late for him to react though- you’ve already dashed off back to your shared apartment while covering the feline with your now soaked sweater. Simon follows suit without protest.

He watches as you wrap the cat in the fluffiest towel you can find, careful as to not scare the cat any further. Your gentle rubs to it's fur could never compare what he had seen in his childhood- menageries of vicious snapping teeth and growls , the smell of blood and unkempt fur. You're rummaging through the cupboards and microwaving a can of tuna, nudging it towards the creature to try soothe it's fear. Simon feel his hands start to relax, his grimace fading beneath his mask. You're nothing like that shadow of a man, nothing like Ghost or the little boy before him. You were never going to make the same mistakes, never going to end up as the same monster. A little thing clicks in him, a small shift of his aorta. You were the one he would choose to stand by his side in the old and grey.

"sim ? you've been zoning, is there something wrong ?" you're scritching the cat's head, giggling at its soft purrs as it nuzzles its head closer to your fingers. A doe eyed look of concern as you grace over his features, checking for any sign of turmoil in your boyfriend.

"nothin' to worry about, love." he wraps his arm around your shoulder as you continue to play with the cat, the movement of your muscles as you play with the cat allowing him to take a new breath. "just thinking."

A wizard that uses tofu thrown against the wall for augury. She uses firmer tofus for matters that are soon to pass because it’s more likely to make a cohesive shape or symbol to interpret the future from, and this made it very insulting when I asked how my next date would go and she threw a silky tofu scramble against the wall.

Was asked by a friend what it would take for me to get back into Ninjago/watch the new seasons

I told him if they start adding Eldritch horror. And not like that kid friendly shit version, I'm talking like body horror, freaky monsters (They had it with the Preeminent, bring that crazy shit back) and mind numbing scenarios that break the characters to the point of questioning their reality. And I don't mean mild break downs that get resolved two episodes later, I mean break down as in it permanently messes them up.

Ait Ninjago. I've made it clear, time to see if you'll do it (unless the new seasons already have that in which case lemme know) I'll start drawing the ninja/ninjago ocs/coming up with story ideas again if I start seeing that good Eldritch horror more

Recently bought the chickens a rat-proof feeder because the world's biggest pack of rats has moved in and I've had enough. Training the chickens to use it is going well, if slowly. (It would be a lot faster if I still lived with my chickens, or at least lived closer than 30 minutes away... 😅 I can't be there all the time to work with them.)

Midnight, however, refuses to engage with the thing and instead stands next to it looking cranky while she watches the young'uns eat.
