If you know me irl, then you know I am TERRIFIED of spiders. Like, I will vacate my room for three days if I see a spider. I taught my cat to kill spiders for me. I am PETRIFIED of them.

I currently have photos of Goliath Bird-Eating Tarantula’s in my camera roll. Why? Because an OC of mine, Daniela, decided that she LOVES everything on Earth but her favorite thing is spiders. She decided that she has a pet Goliath Bird-Eating Tarantula named Gregory.

So I have pictures so I can draw him correctly. And every time I open my camera roll, I am this 🤏 close to having a panic attack. Goodnight.

this was actually a fairly easy redesign I like this one

Ok, it did turn out with a bit less detail than I would have liked, but I didn’t know how to incorporate every tiny detail into this perfectly, and it turned out really well anyway in my opinion. I did change his name, because “Sugarman” sounds dumb, and Sugar Rush is the name of his quirk, so like almost all of the other redesigns, his name is a pun of sugar rush and the fact that he has super strength.

So here’s my design for Sweets Hero: Sugar Crush

chef’s coat!

considered some sort of apron/apron motif but figured it wouldn’t be too practical

track pants

athletic shoes

essentially a tank full of sugar water, as consuming pure granulated sugar can be unhealthy

utility belt, mostly filled with sweets and caramels(caramelized sugar is easier to eat)

mask contraption containing straws connecting to the sugar water tank

unhooks for eating or drinking

gloves reminiscent of the sanitary gloves bakers and chefs wear

steel knuckled gloves

probably has a logo on the coat somewhere that I didn’t draw

not pictured because I didn’t draw the face but normal looking thick lips instead of whatever the hell this is

BODYSUIT:

underneath the chef coat and pants, I’ve added a one piece inspired by weightlifters!

malware ads in general are a bane on this earth, but i can at least see how people behind malware ads have a logic behind putting various malware ads on porn sites.

what i do not understand is the "logic" behind putting porn malware ads on shady back-alley-type free cartoons websites. if somebody's there to watch spongebob or powerpuff girls or any of the cartoons aimed at kids or teens, there is a very low chance of them being In The Mood and therefore susceptible to the ads. not nonexistent- i know what the internet is like- but a lot lower than, like, if they were trying to watch the bay transformers movies. or the blade movies. or like. making a massive leap to the point i'm trying to make here. actual porn

I just think everyone should take a moment to consider the question "what is your visual shorthand for cruelty?" and then follow it up with a critical "and who taught you that?"

specific examples include but are not limited to

why is an evil timeline character design disabled? (why do the heroes go through equally punishing battles and never lose an arm, a leg, an eye?)

why are the futuristic scifi terrorists uniformly darker skinned? (why are the heroes so much lighter?)

why is the greedy boss fat? (why are the heroes skinny?)

why is the criminal mastermind heavily scarred? (why is the brooding, traumatized hero unscathed?)

why is the predatory creep a bearded person in a dress and makeup? (why are none of the heroes trans women?)

who taught you that this is how things are?

how long do you plan on repeating it?
