In honor of Groundhog Day, I actually did write a first chapter for this premise! I'll post updates on AO3, but it'll be slow going since grad school is a thing I have to actually do and should probably give priority to instead of writing angsty death game fics (oh, to be stuck in a time loop, and have all the time in the world for fandom fun...).

Arisu is convinced that there must be a no-death solution to the hearts game that will save Chota and Karube. But nothing that he tries ever works, and he instead has to watch them die over and over. And even sacrificing himself to save one of them does nothing but reset the time loop all over again. He even tries ways to stop their deaths outside the game, like sending only Chota and Shibuki in with the hope that Chota can win it, or sending only Chota in with the hope that this would make it so there is only one wolf who automatically wins, or trying to find a different game for them to play but they are all too far away to make it in time.

Does he eventually find a way to save them all? Does he give up and accept that nothing he could have done would have saved them?

Idk feel like there’s some fun ideas to play around with here.

I love how right before the Cupid scene, Jason has to just fucking decide whether he’d homophobic or not. Like he still has very little memory of his past, for all he knew he could’ve been a massive anti-gay activist growing up. He could’ve been a misogynistic, racist transphobe who boycotted drag brunches and protested pride marches. But, in that moment, he’s faced with a choice. He has no idea if he’s even met a gay person before, he has no reason to show them any respect or human decency- it really doesn’t affect him. But he’s faced with that choice, and he chooses kindness.

You see, queerness isn’t a choice. Homophobia is.

Be more like Jason Grace. Choose kindness.

MC: Yeah... I mean, the Queen of Hearts doesn't joke around with her punishment.

Ace: But we're taking preventive measures, no?

MC: ...

Ace: Come on! I'll be good!

MC: Dude, why are you trying to convince me? Talk to Riddle.

Hades: Yeah… I’m kinda tied up that day. And frankly, I don’t think I’ll be in the mood for all those jolly faces.

MC: Uh... Your followers are literally bunches of socially awkward introverts.

Hades: ...

Hades: What?

MC: I promise you'll enjoy being in Ignihyde. You can play games and meet your descendant!

Hades: Descendant? Ha! Do I look like the kind of guy anyone would want to get involved with? This face? This place?

MC: *frowns* Sir, mortals worship you for being a loyal husband.

Hades: And who’s insane enough to marry me?

MC: ...

MC: Your wife.

Hades: ...

Azul: *laughs*

Idia: ...

Idia: Is it just me or you like beefing with the God of the Underworld?
