What is the 'captainverse' shit? I always just ignored it tbh but I have seen many incels justify shipping the canon lesbians with men because 'captain is canonically male so all valks are bi' when as far as I can tell captain is canonically not fucking real as the only captain of the hyperion ever mentioned is Himeko.

Hmmm so I'd like to avoid being overly negative. I'll answer you, but watch your tone in the future.

Captainverse was a storyline that spanned a ton of events over multiple years. It concluded last year or so with one final fluffy event after all the drama. The Captainverse storyline isn't relevant to the main story of Hi3 but happens in the Sea of Quanta, so it would be "real" in that sense.

Bronie AKA Haxxor Bunny (has an expy in Honkai Star Rail named Silver Wolf, which you may be familiar with) appears briefly in the Moon Arc, and one of Misteln's Stigmata children seemed to hail from her world. There's also suspicious wish-granting devices in the sea that may or may not link back to Sa's shenanigans, but we don't have proof of that (plus those were written long before Sa was).

The main character of the Captainverse is an ex high-ranking Schicksal captain hailing from an alternate world to the Main Story's, referred to only as... "Captain". There's also another recurring person named "Ferryman" who turned out to be a hopeless version of Captain due to some time shenanigans. He has his own Hyperion, separate from the one in canon. I think his original backstory was being sent on some mission by Otto in the Sea? He was originally designed as a self-insert but later became his own character.

Captainverse has ship tease with some girls, but there's also plenty of girls who show zero romantic interest in the Captain, so you've been told a generalization. The main "ships" with the Captain are two Theresas who aren't actually called Theresa: the vampire Luna and the immortal tactician Kongming. Captain saved their lives at great cost to himself... the fireworks...

Oh, Captainverse actually has its fair share of sapphics. If you like that, it's a shame you never gave it a chance. For example, Kasumi (amnesiac Sakura with extra steps) and a Kallen from a different world found each other in Captainverse and seem well on their way to find the happy ending they never got in the main story due to things such as "dying". Kasumi's origin story event was also a direct result of Kallen being in love with Sakura...

@sacron1143 knows the most about actual Captainverse lore, so best to ask there if you're genuinely curious. Don't bother if you're gonna be a hater though. There's also this document but I'm not sure it's fully up to date.

I hope that gave you sufficient context! That said, I think you're better off just ignoring what the people you don't agree with do for fun. Clearly, neither of you are arguing in good faith to begin with.

Shouts of “Aye!” erupt from most ladies, paired with broad grins and happy giggles, Charango opting for a swift strum of their strings. Shaima can’t help when the corners of her lips rise.

“That’s what I like to hear from my favourite Captain,” Deepali murmurs, smirking.

Shaima pulls a fifth knife, holding it just to the base of Deepali’s throat in reprimand of her cockiness. “I am your only Captain.”

More lash fluttering, “My point still stands.”

Shaima narrows her eyes in warning. Although before the scene can escalate, there is a string instrument neck placed on Deepali’s chest, oh so slowly pushing her back and off the desk until she is settled into Charango’s side, still grinning like a cat that got the cream.

Shaima gives them an acknowledging nod which Charango replies to with one of their own. After about six weeks out on the open sea they might be the only other one with an ounce of common sense on their vessel. Açaí fluffs her feathers and replies with a caw of You’re Welcome.

I just read your recommendations for wlw books (thanks so much for those xD), but wanted to asked if you knew any sapphic fantasy books as well (preferably high fantasy/books with great worldbuilding). Sorry if this is too specific and thank you <3

Hei, the only book that comes to my mind is The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon -> The premise of this book is a bit hard to describe because it tracks the perspectives of multiple characters from East and West, but essentially: Ead has been a transplant at a foreign court and is meant to protect Queen Sabran, who is the current ruler of the Virtudom and claims descent from the supposed defeater of the Nameless One (a big scary fire-breathing wyrm). She protects the queen using forbidden magic, which comes from her training as a mage in the Priory of the Orange Tree.

The world building is just intensely lush. It is so richly detailed, and while I spent a lot of time in the beginning having to double check where I was, the chapter headings with "East" and "West" simplified a lot for me.

It has sapphic romance in it, but I have to say that that's not what the main plot is about at all

I have other titles but i don't know if they're what you're looking for..

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir -> The Emperor needs necromancers. The Ninth Necromancer needs a swordswoman. Gideon has a sword and is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse. She packs up her sword, her shoes, and her dirty magazines, and prepares to launch her daring escape. But her childhood nemesis won't set her free without a service. Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Reverend Daughter of the Ninth House and bone witch extraordinaire, has been summoned into action. The Emperor has invited the heirs to each of his loyal Houses to a deadly trial of wits and skill. If Harrowhark succeeds she will become an immortal, all-powerful servant of the Resurrection, but no necromancer can ascend without their cavalier. Without Gideon's sword, Harrow will fail, and the Ninth House will die. Of course, some things are better left dead.

Queens And Monsters by Cleo Evans -> Butch Perseus and her femme Medusa. This book has: two women that have been secretly pining for centuries. Demigods, monsters, and gods. SPICE. Sapphic monster romance and SO much more. Not really my thing but maybe you'll do.

A Song of Silver and Gold by Melissa Karibian -> For the past year, Princess Kaelyn of Avalon has disguised herself as a man, Captain Kae, and led her crew into tumultuous waters to eradicate sirens on a journey fueled by revenge. Aqeara is a siren warrior of Meyrial, an underwater kingdom hidden from humans. When her negligence during the Avalon harbor attack causes the death of Meyrial’s princess, she seeks the help of a sea witch to overturn her banishment. Aqeara is given a human body and has until the next full moon to carve out Captain Kae’s heart in exchange for a spell to bring the dead princess back to life.

fic recs: monsterfucker sabrina!

Despite being canonically rich with opportunities, there seems to a distinct lack of monster fucking fics in the caos fandom. Since my fandom forte is Black Sabith, I've made a little list of monster fucker Black Sabith fic recs. This is a little self promo-y but I highly recomend the first two fics mentioned and if there's a fic I'm missing, let me know!

Lucky Pennies by TechnicolorRevel  - Classic Omegaverse! This fic was posted pretty early on in the fandom and an underrated classic. It's so hot and fun and I recommend. The salt of it by TheonlyDan - This AU is so cleverly done, combining mystery and and good old fashioned tentacle monsters. In it, Sabrina is a maid for Lilith, a Madame who's hiding a monstrous secret. TheonlyDan's fics have such an intoxicating ambiance to them, I always feel like I can feel them in the air while I'm reading and this is no different.

I have four monster fucker Sabrina fics of my own! But I want to write another soon, maybe for this year's kinktober.

In the Dragon's Grasp by JediAnnieScrambler  - My CAOS meets Fourth Wing AU which asks the question, what if they fucked the dragons in Fourth Wing instead of the other humans. I'm really happy with how it turned it out.

you are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to howl  by JediAnnieScrambler - By far my darkest monster fucker fic, so mind the tags. When a werewolf is spotted in Greendale, Sabrina ignores her aunts warning and takes it upon herself to hunt it down- but hunting werewolves turns out to be more than she's exacting. It's Omagaverse-lite with noncon, written for Sapphic Dead Dove Week 2024.
