Gonna basically repeat what I said to my friend before I go to sleep but this started from a small zoom-in in my kingdom lol. Mango pulling these two powerful water baddies by being.. him.

Here's what I said, basically. It's not a complete idea and lowkey ignores a lot of canon, but hey whatever.. Long post and crack ship ramblings and headcanons under the cut! Sorry for any spelling mistakes or poor grammar, I am half asleep. Also sorry for any mischaracterization.

Black Pearl: So Mango, as a part of his job-ish, wants to show and tour people the Duskgloom Sea but he knows the rumors surrounding it. So he decides to go out there by himself on a boat (or submarine idrk) which is clearly a bad idea and Black Pear obviously is trying to end him, but he manages to escape.. kind of? This part is a bit funky for me but I imagine them having some kind of confrontation where he sees just how massive she is and he feels the terror as he escapes with his life.

But it doesn't stop him because he's back in the fucking Duskgloom Sea again a few days later and I think Black Pearl knows it's this same guy and she's out for blood and I (funnily) think he tries to actually talk to her. It doesn't work and she's angry, literally making all kinds of water related storms to attempt crumbling him and he finds a way. (I honestly want to hc that it's Seafairy helping him escape but he doesn't know it).

The relationship between Black Pearl and Mango is a loooooooooong slow burn of him continuing to return to the Duskgloom Sea and trying to reason with her meanwhile she's trying to figure out why he's alive and returning. Eventually she gets annoyed enough to go face to face and no, this isn't a happy moment immediately. I think he asks her can he use her sea as a touring ground and she doesn't accept.. and probably for a long time but he keeps coming back and not dying when she tries killing him either due to other forces or sheer luck (silly Mango). Eventually she gives in, but still doesn't promise she will let them leave alive.

Mango is a bit concerned but optimistic and one day comes on his mango canoe with others and Black Pearl is thinking she can catch him off guard, finally end him and get rid of this annoyance. However as one of the tourists comments on how calm the waters are compared to the legends, Mango corrects them in his typical cheerful manner (he's been through it) and says the waters aren't calm but Black Pearl is allowing for such a nice experience so it's best to enjoy such a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This gets her thinking and she is still tempted to sink them, but decides against it at the last minute. (She still did create quite the storm though). Mango also realizes on this trip that he doesn't know much about the area other than the legends, so after dropping off the tourists he heads back out to try and talk to Black Pearl. He even brings some souvenirs from land to maybe, don't know.. just give her a "thank you" present. He is a cookie that thrives in the sun and sunnier climates but he can still appreciate the beauty of the sea. He knows she definitely could've cut that trip short but she didn't.

She is definitely not amused that he came back and out of annoyance she drops the gift into the water and lets it sink to the sea floor (presumably). He asks her about the history of the Duskgloom Sea and things of the like so he can 'give better tours' to which she's like 'no more tours' so he says 'for his own knowledge and curiosity.'

She still doesn't like this and another slow burn ensues as he travels out to see her often and she ignores his presence as he rambles on about his day or random things. She responds with various threats and condescending remarks but Mango takes it in stride and this annoys her further until one day she snaps on him. In her anger she tells him how two faced cookies are and how she isn't falling for his tricks, she yells at him and the waves get stronger and higher threatening to take him under. She tells him he doesn't know true betrayal, he hasn't lived what she lived and he should stop his lies and annoying behavior. Mango listens to her and for probably the first time he stops talking and maybe somewhere in Black Pearl's mind she wants him to say something to refute her claims but he doesn't. He just doesn't know what to say yet. He gives her another gift and just tells her he'll keep returning and promptly leaves.

She stews in her anger and lets the gift fall to the sea floor again but then ends up going to get both to.. rip them apart. At least one of them. She doesn't know what to do with this guy. But when he returns she's determined to get him to admit to his lies and he's just a bit oblivious to it, he's just happy she's engaging with him even if it is minimal. I think this is where another slow progression happens where in the midst of trying to "prove" he's lying she ends up catching feelings and hates that even more, that's all I will say about that.

Sea Fairy: I definitely don't know how we got here and I am less invested in Sea Fairy, but for the sake of the plot it's relevant. I honestly didn't know whether to go with current Sea Fairy or Guardian Sea Fairy because she's very different and the timelines are all over the place so for now it's post-guardian. And after writing all of that.. I think this section will be a bit shorter but I will still try to give detail). I also really like Moonlight x Sea Fairy but this is for the plot so...

This also is under the impression she hasn't helped Mango in the Black Pearl incidents if you read this as him meeting Black Pearl first. But it can still go either way.. I guess.

One night Sea Fairy is staring out into the horizon, lost in thought as she waits for nightfall. It's her usual routine as she is a bit lonely, but it's something she's used to.

That is until she hears someone calling her name. At first she thinks it's her mind playing tricks.. because who in the world would be out in the middle of the ocean? But she sees it is Mango.. she doesn't know what to do with this information. Mango is a bit surprised to see the Sea Fairy but he doesn't try to make a scene about it.

She apologizes for not hearing him, he says it's okay but his curiosity hits and he asks her what is she doing. She can only sigh wistfully as she stares at the sky explaining she's waiting on nightfall. He agrees that the skies are beautiful at night but he noticed how sad? melancholy? she looked. She asks him why he's out in the ocean, it's not a standard thing and he simply tells her he knows the ocean by memory. Despite the fact he's basically in the presence of such an important figure he is casual.

I imagine Sea Fairy has likely seen many cookies go through the ocean and get lost so she's a bit hesitant to believe him but she's also not going to outright call him a liar. If anything.. the company is a bit nice. But of course Mango starts talking her ear off, asking her if she's seen certain places and while her responses are few compared to his.. it is a nice change.

Eventually night comes which makes her more emotional and he catches onto this. I imagine she asks something regarding fate, which she has some feelings towards. Personally I hc Mango as a open minded kinda guy that accepts things as what is thrown at him and he's just winging it/living rather than thinking too deeply. So he relays this to her as they look at the stars. She goes quiet, but he continues rambling on and on about this and that until he starts tiring out. She's a bit surprised by how much a single cookie can talk but encourages him to go back home to sleep.

She doesn't think she'll see him again... until she does.. when he's back in the sea. I imagine this would happen often and eventually she starts looking forward to the cookie that's so different from her and I think that's kinda how this pops off. Bonus if he tries to bring her to the waters of the Archipelago to see the stars at a different angle.

Anyway.. I will probably write how Sea Fairy and Black Pearl work as rivals when I wake up..

I was thinking of Seamoon again, and I thought about what they might nickname their kids. So this is what I came up with

Sea Fairy would call her children: sea foam, little ripple, and star fish.(this is for both)

Moonlight would call her children: little star, baby moon, and star fish.
