Shouts of “Aye!” erupt from most ladies, paired with broad grins and happy giggles, Charango opting for a swift strum of their strings. Shaima can’t help when the corners of her lips rise.

“That’s what I like to hear from my favourite Captain,” Deepali murmurs, smirking.

Shaima pulls a fifth knife, holding it just to the base of Deepali’s throat in reprimand of her cockiness. “I am your only Captain.”

More lash fluttering, “My point still stands.”

Shaima narrows her eyes in warning. Although before the scene can escalate, there is a string instrument neck placed on Deepali’s chest, oh so slowly pushing her back and off the desk until she is settled into Charango’s side, still grinning like a cat that got the cream.

Shaima gives them an acknowledging nod which Charango replies to with one of their own. After about six weeks out on the open sea they might be the only other one with an ounce of common sense on their vessel. Açaí fluffs her feathers and replies with a caw of You’re Welcome.
