That horrible situation of hating to cosplay girl characters 99% of the time... but you can do a passable Furiosa. (thanks to Paul Sebastian for this wonderful shot)
What I would rather be doing....
Costume needs work( well, the crossbow is real-ish...), but since this Max and I were the only ones there, we went at it like little kids. Thanks to Dragonc Chylde Studio for the shots.

The Crusaders and Mario Kart
A/n- I've been watching Jjba a lot lately, and had the chance to finish it while at the hospital, and during my recovery. I've also been playing a lot of Mario Kart on my switch since I got home!
Pairing- None
Summary- Headcannons for the crusaders and Mario Kart!
Joseph Joestar
Please, this man would be so competitive
And angry
He probably yells a lot and most likely feels legitimate rage for the AI
He’s not terrible at the game, but it makes him very upset
And he’s broken multiple controllers from jamming the joysticks
Probably always comes in 5th
I can just see Joseph always playing as bowser jr or tanooki
Likes the DK Jungle because of the toads
But hates the twisted mansion
He had enough of haunted and run down buildings after his time in Europe :’(
He likes to mess around with the different carts, bikes and wheels so he’ll almost always play with some whack combo but make it work
Jotaro Kujo
Jotaro isn’t great at video games
And he knows it
But he plays so he can spend time with the people he cares about
Jotaro mains Shy Guy and uses the standard kart and wheels set up, doesn’t do anything too fancy
Loves the Dolphin Shoals track
But hates the Cheep Cheep Beach track
Loves playing with Holly and Joseph to see their smiles of victory (He just wants to see his family happy and it makes me sOft!)
Jotaro probably falls off the tracks a lot and definitely goes backwards sometimes
He usually comes in 8th place, but one time came in first when he played while shit faced with polnareff
Kakyoin Noriaki
Gamer boy
Is goated at Mario kart
His only real competition among the Crusaders is between Pol and Avdol, who are unusually good at Mario Kart
Kak mains Cat Peach
Prefers bikes with good acceleration
Loves the Rainbow Road track (the train one)
Hates Tick Tock Clock (for obvious reasons 👁👄👁)
Does tricks after jumps and throws all his shells and bananas back, likes to hold on to the sound boom box incase he gets a blue shell thrown at him
Usually always in first place
Polnareff
Polnareff is unusually good at the game, especially when drunk
He’s beat Kakyoin more than once
I imagine Pol mains bowser
And he loves heavy and fast karts
This man loves Moo Moo meadows because of the cows
But he absolutely hates Warrio stadium
Pol usually comes in 3rd
He doesn’t get too competitive, but sometimes things get heated when he’s beating Kak
Muhammed Avdol
Avdol is the only one good enough to consistently beat Kak
He’s calm and collected and while everyone is throwing shells at each other and busy attacking, he's cruising on by
Avdol mains Dry Bones, no I will not be taking criticism
He likes bikes with good off road traction
Relies mostly on boosts to get ahead
Lots of drifting, trick jumps, anything to get a burst of speed
Obviously likes Baby Park because he gets to coast by through the chaos
But he hates the Music Park
Usually lands in 2nd place
Takes advantage of Pol and Kak's rivalry
Absolutely a shit starter, but from the shadows
He'll throw a shell and hits Pol and blames it on Kak, who also coincidentally had the same shell as him
And he never gets caught

The old/aging HC for Sub Zero,Kenshi,Takeda, and Johnny, please? (This is for the ask meme thing.)
Sure!
Kenshi
almost all his life, Kenshi spent on the road; he didn’t really have a place to call a home. He was working for Special Forces for years now and had his own scores with Shang Tsung and Red Dragons to settle down. He was a busy man with right priorities… or so he thought. The older he become, the more he regretted having so little time to enjoy life, so little occasion to tell people how much he cared about them.
Now, when old age catched him up, Kenshi settled down close to place where Takeda, Jacqui and their kid(s) lived. He didn’t want to live with them in the same house, it felt too much like intruding. So Kenshi decided to stay close enough to be there when they would need him to babysit or help with whatever stuff (or to protect them in case of danger, because you never can be sure when scums like Kano or Red Dragons will show up) but at the same time stays enough far away to let them enjoy their shared life in peace.
Kenshi did not know about Takeda’s existence for a years. He had never blame Suchin for that. He did not regret asking Hanzo to take care of boy, when he couldn’t do it properly himself. It was the best way to ensure Takeda’s safety. From the perspective of time, Kenshi was sure it was right decision. Yet the older he grew, the more time he spent with his grandchildren, the remorse hit him harder. He never had a chance to be father and he can’t stop wonder how different his life would be if he knew about Takeda from the start.
Sometimes he dreams about life with Suchin, with little Takeda and no quest for revenge. He tries to not think too much about it. Time can’t be changed after all.
Playing with grandchildren became the favorite pastime of old Kenshi.
Proud granpa ready to spoil his grandkids on every occassion. And kick everyone who wish harm to Kenshi’s family.
Takeda
Takeda’s telepathic abilities grew too quickly and suddenly; it took him years to take full control over them. Even now sometimes he feels overwhelmed when there is too many people around him. He gets headache too. So he tries to stay away from crowded spaces. Jacqui laughs that in old age he became asocial, just like Hanzo always was.
Takeda left Special Forces at some point and now takes care of Shirai Ryu clan full time. Over the years he took part in many dangerous missions in various realms. Now, when the old age catched him, he enjoys staying with his fellows ninja and teaching the younger warriors. There is something really great about passing his experiences and knowledge to the new generation.
He likes teaching more than fighting. He grew tired of the feeling of constant threat to Earthrealm. He does not want his kids to grow feeling the same, which is why he is willing to fight (and kill) again and again and again, if that will keep his students and family safe.
The more older he gets, the more he understand his father-in-law, Jax. Part of him is proud that his children embraced Shirai Ryu (and Special Forces) traditions. Part of him is scared as hell at the thought one day his kids may be sent on mission and never come back.
He loves Jacqui more and more with passing days. He can’t imagine life without her. They are together for many years now and looking at the life from perspective of time, joining Cage’s Team was the right decision. He found love there, and great friends. Even if Cassie and Jin are jerks at times, he loves this team of wonderful people.
He is a bit obsessed with NOT MAKING the same mistakes his father and Hanzo and Jax did while raising (or not) their kids. Of course, he is aware that a lot things that went wrong weren’t really their fault. It’s just… the older Takeda become, the more he wants to give his children a sense of family he and Jacqui not always had. Takeda makes sure he will never be the “absent father”.
Family always mattered to him, but when he was younger he was more focused at making master Hasashi proud than really bonding with him. And there was always some hesitation on Hanzo’s part, to treat him like his own child, even if he raised Takeda almost alone. Which is why Takeda spent as much time he can with his children. Not only to train them, but to be part of their life, to listen about their hobbies, to support in need and cheer in sorrow. He wanted to be a father a child can rely on, be proud of, be sure how much they meant to him. Jacqui approved, so he knew he is doing right thing.
Johnny
doesn’t change much - he still annoys everyone no matter how old he gets. Though his jokes may or may not become a bit more sarcastic over the years.
The one thing that changed in Johnny with age is not caring about other people’s opinions. When he was younger, it meant so much to him. To be praised, admired, seen as great actor and fighter. Now? It doesn’t matter, as long as his family is alright and happy. Critics don’t like his newest movie? Well, too bad because he couldn’t care even less anymore. Life is too short to worry what strangers think about him.
When he worked with Special Forces, he always tried to be diplomatic when Sonya get annoyed by some morons or bureaucratic nonsense, or during meetings with Outworld champions. Now? Oh, if he feel like someone is lying asshole, he is gonna tell that in the face of that person. He fought gods, demons, beasts and the worst scum ever, so there is little things to be afraid about. And Johnny is really tired of shitty politics these days.
Beside, it’s not like government can do much about that. As long as he will not spill the top secrets of secrets, that is.
No matter how much of time passed, Cage is always keep up with current trends. Newest movies? He watched them all, quite often with Cassie and the rest of Cage Team. The most popular cartoons? Seen them all too, with all the “grandchildren. The slang used by kids and teens? Hell, most likely half of the words comes from him. The newest technology? Sweet stuff.
It doesn’t matter how old Johnny is, everytime he sees Reptile, he will try to hire him for a new movie. Reptile is not happy about that.
Johnny has a lot money - most of it he spent on charity and making sure young people get good education and so on. He doesn’t really need the money. What makes him truly happy is a chance to be with family and friends, with no threat and upcoming destruction of Earthrealm. Sounds like small thing, but after so many wars, that is what really matters to him. Safety & happiness of people he cares about. And if the money can buy that for others, so he will gave as much as he can. After so many wars and almost-destroyed moments people deserve happiness.
Sub-Zero
the older he is, the more asocial he becomes.
Of course, Sub-Zero is always the polite man with wise advices, but he does not seek other people’s company if it’s not absolutely necessary thing to do.
That of course does not keep people away from him. From time to time, someone shows in Lin Kuei Temple and ask for his assistance. He is not really interested in people’s troubles, but he listens, because that is right thing to do.
He does train people though. Many warrios seeks his guidance in hope to perfect their skills. Sub-Zero understand such desire and there is something warm clutching inside him everytime when his student makes progress, little by little gets stronger.
He trained Cassie and Jacqui and Takeda and Jin, but they all grown up now, with their own missions and family to worry about. They come sometimes, to visit him, to seek advice, even to spar. It’s hard to look at them sometimes. Look at those young yet hardened warriors that must fight in old wars of their fathers and mothers.
But all students must go their own way. He does not try to keep anyone close to him. He let them go, because that is right thing. Even if everytime it hurts the same. He can’t stop thinking about Frost. He misses their sparring, their arguing, the silent moments when they just sit together and watched the snow failing from the sky.
Frost is grown up, experienced warrior now. Busy with her new duties, new battles to fight. She doesn’t need him anymore, really.
He keep training day after day, even if his body aches, old injuries burns with pain. It’s better than dwelling on the past.
He misses his friends and family and clanmembers all dead now for years. So, so long dead he sometimes can’t recall their names, tone of their voices, the shape of face. Sometimes he thinks they are still there, living in the shadows of the Lin Kuei Temple, whispering to him their secreets.
Sometimes he thinks he can sense his brother lurking into shadows, checking on him, waiting. But Bi-Han never answered his calling, even if the haunted corridor felt cold like death.
Sub-Zero is not afraid of death. Maybe when he will die, his brother will finally answer him. But that will take some time though. He had duties to clan. Duties to Earthrealm. Bi-Han can wait a bit longer after all. He was dead for years.

A Place To Call Home, Ch 8.
Fandom: Rosewell, New Mexico.
Summary: A canon divergent take on Roswell, New Mexico, and the relationships between Isobel, Noah, and Rosa; later parts will shift the focus to Michael and Alex, as well as Michael and Noah. What is it like to share a body with another alien? Can broken trust be mended? Do the ends really justify the means?
Rating: M.
Tags: Canon divergence, minor character death, not really character death, body sharing, polyamory, hurt/comfort, addiction problems, sickfic, revenge, fix it, friends to enemies to lovers, lovers to enemies to lovers, Noah is complicated, cw: dubious age stuff for a little bit considering Nasedo/Noah is who-the-hell-knows how old.
Word Count: 2833
Dawn broke, painting the Roswell sky lilac, magenta, and gold.
The road that led to Carlsbad was desolate. It had been easy enough to lure a driver to him, persuading them to take him to Midway RV Park. It was along his chosen escape route, lingering just far enough away from Roswell that Nasedo felt comfortable hiding there until sunrise. He kept to the scant scattering of trees, curled up against the trunk of one farthest from the RVs; sleep evaded him, but he closed his eyes and rested as much as he was able. He would have to move swiftly once it was time, and he would need whatever strength he could muster.
As the sun peeked over the horizon, Nasedo felt some measure of relief. He could feel his powers, still coiled inside his body like a rattlesnake ready to strike. It was irritating to know that it would take hours to accomplish what he, a skilled fighter, had once been able to do in minutes. Still. His powers hadn't left him. They merely required patience, and practice, to return in full. He wouldn't need more than a couple hours at most, regardless. Not if he was careful.
An old man in the RV park was shuffling past, walking towards a rusted-up truck. Nasedo waited until the man was a couple paces ahead before moving out from the trees and slinging an arm around the man's shoulder in a gesture of familiarity. "Keep walking," Nasedo said, his voice calm. "Where are you heading?"
The man's eyes glazed over. "Hagerman."
"Hagerman is a lovely place. You'll give me a ride there, won't you?"
"Alright."
Nasedo glanced around as the neared the truck. There wasn't anyone else around, but anyone could show up out of the blue. He took the opportunity to enact the first part of his plan. The lamp post near the truck had just flickered off for the day; he could still hear the hum of electricity running through it. He pressed his hand to the cool metal as the man opened the truck door, sending a surge of power through the lines. Nasedo took some of the energy into himself, sending the rest blasting outward with a crack. The power in the park sputtered and died, with lights in the distance dying soon after. The metal of the post had warped, with a lightning strike pattern branching outwards.
Time to go. Nasedo climbed into the truck, and the man drove out to Main Street without a word. He leaned back against the seat, taking a slow, deep breath. Using his powers in such a way was taxing, but it was vital to leave a noticeable trail. Manes, he recalled faintly, had been friends at one point with Valenti. The bastard would notice the signs. If Manes saw a trail leading away from Roswell, and the heirs were still in Roswell, hopefully it would pull suspicion away from them long enough for Nasedo to strengthen himself and return to the heirs more prepared.
He looked at himself in the mirror of the car. He didn't look much older than Max. Had he really been so young when he went into stasis? He couldn't remember anymore. Soldiers went straight from school and into service, and their species had such long lifespans, they didn't age the same way as humans. At least he recognized himself otherwise. Darker brown skin, brown eyes, black hair. He knew that, unfortunately, he would have to be careful. A little less than half the state was white, but that 'little less than half' was very loud and wasn't exactly known for progressiveness. He'd have to split his energy between leaving breadcrumbs for Manes and whatever parasites he had on his side, wiping memories, and turning people's attention from him. It would be a difficult day, but the end goal was simple. Leave a trail down to Carlsbad, take a bus from there to Albuquerque, and disappear into the swarm of humans that called it home.
Large fields, empty except for the occasional horse, gave way to farmhouses, a baptist church, and a gas station. Hagerman was small. Quaint, Isobel would have said with a little nosewrinkle, and not in a flattering sense. Nasedo would have to move on to a bigger city to avoid suspicion, but he wouldn't force the old man to go farther than intended. It wasn't worth the effort, if he could find another ride.
"Where are you heading, friend?" Nasedo asked.
The man barely blinked. "Rio Felix apartments."
"I see. Why don't you let me off at the church, and then you can be on your way."
"Alright."
The old man stopped, and Nasedo got out. He circled around to the driver's window, patting the old man on the shoulder. "Thanks. Do me a favor and forget you ever saw me."
"Huh?"
Nasedo walked off before the man could come to his senses. The truck sat there for a moment, idling, but kept going. The switch to the next vehicle happened fast. There was a car near the edge of the church, covered in Christian stickers with some lanky white man getting inside. A minute later and they were on their way to Lake Arthur. A young goth-looking sort outside Lake Arthur's city park got him to Aretesia. A larger city meant more potential witnesses, but it also meant more people distracted with their own thoughts, emotions, and lives. It also meant that, when Nasedo tapped into the energy grid at the WalMart and blew the power in the entire city, it was sure to make the news.
By the time he got to Carlsbad, delivered by a semi-truck driver who smelled like cigarette smoke and tequila, the sun was beating down and the air was thick with the summer heat. Nasedo stole one of several pairs of sunglasses from the truck, hopping out and taking in the scenery. Carlsbad was smaller than Roswell, but not claustrophobic like the others had been. He didn't feel like eyes were on him as much, which made swiping the wallet of some polo-shirt wearing douchebag easier. Fifty bucks. Enough for some food, and a one-way ticket to Albuquerque.
The Motel 6 was seedy, but the staff members were overworked by tourist season, and seemed too tired to care about much of anything. Convincing the older woman at the desk to give him a room for the night-- free of charge-- barely required any of his powers at all. Nasedo sighed as he flopped on the bed in the motel room, curling up and drifting off to sleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. By the time he woke up again, the sun was setting. The clock on the nightstand read that it was seven o' clock at night. It was tempting to go back to sleep, but his stomach was roiling from a lack of food; he would have to go out and find something.
A lack of phone or computer meant having to do things old school. He flipped through the yellow pages, finding a store within walking distance. It wasn't anything fancy, but it didn't need to be. He was able to buy more water, a couple frozen dinners, and enough packaged foods to make it to Albuquerque. The woman at the check-out stand gave him a warm smile, and he forced a smile back, but he felt his insides twist. The only ones who had ever looked at him like that were Isobel and Rosa. He didn't want anyone else to, certainly not some strange human who would ship him off to a lab the moment they knew the truth.
Nasedo stood in the motel room when he got back, the silence suddenly and painfully obvious. He was alone. Before he'd met Isobel, the emptiness had been maddening-- but now that he'd known her and the other heirs, now that he'd known Rosa and tasted what it was like to have someone love him and care for him, life felt hopeless. Even if he managed to bring Rosa back to life, it could take years for Max to get strong enough, and he knew in his core that Rosa would never forgive him. None of them would, would they? Isobel would never trust him again. It was useless. And yet, Nasedo knew he wasn't owed that. Rosa deserved to live, regardless of how she'd feel about him.
He sat in the middle of the bed, crossing his legs and closing his eyes. He wished that his king and queen had survived, or that he could see his parents one last time. If only he could ask for their wisdom. The only advice he had were the last words his father ever said to him, just before the attack the fell their kingdom. Don't let poison fill where love should be. His father had disappeared moments later, marching into battle alongside Nasedo's mother while Nasedo was sent away with the rest of the royal guard.
They had been warriors to their last breath, stalwart and honorable. He had aspired to be like them to the end of his days, as well, but the crash had changed everything. Anger and hatred had festered where love had been. Isobel and Rosa had been the guiding stars in his life keeping that tainted ichor from consuming him. They were lost to him, now, and the only choice he could see going forward was to use that poison inside him to save Rosa and keep the heirs safe-- even if he had to do so from afar. He could pretend, at least, that there was something noble in that.
But even if it was the most-right choice, he was no longer what he had been. He'd broken so many oaths already. Without an elder to direct him, and knowing that punishment would be handed down on him if there were any elders left, Nasedo embraced his newfound purpose. Nasedo slid off the bed and held his old clothes in his hands, focusing. They dissolved into ash in his palms, and he dumped the particles into the wastebasket. There had been stories of warriors that had become something darker-- through necessity, but they were never spoken of, and treated as outcasts among their people. They were the ones that dispatched enemies in their sleep, using night as their disguise, or slipped toxins into their drinks. War was a bloody, terrible thing.
And what were most humans to him, except enemies in a war that had begun in 1947?
It made his next task easier to think of it that way.
He packed up everything he planned to take with him, shoving it into a backpack that he'd purchased at the store. Human food tasted strange on his tongue, intense and foreign in a way it hadn't when he shared Isobel's body, and the shower's heat and pressure was almost painful on his skin. At least sleep remained the same, providing a few more hours of relief before he set out. It wasn't hard to find some loud, irate, and drunken bigot who was looking for a fight. It felt like nothing, this time, taking the ranting fool's life. Nasedo dumped the body in the bushes; by the time anyone found it, the handprint would be visible. With any luck, it'd draw anyone who was looking away from Roswell.
The ten hour bus ride to Albuquerque followed. The air inside the bus was too warm, stagnant, and smelled like sweat. Thankfully, no one opted to sit next to him; he leaned back against the seat and closed his eyes, enjoying the rush of strength that moved through him. Taking a human life did restore some of his strength, after all. He knew he should have felt some sort of shame, but the creature had been a vicious, violent thing. Remorse was a waste of time and energy on someone who wouldn't have felt remorse for doing the same. And if it eased the ache in his core, if it healed some of the damage done to him by time thanks to hiding from murderous humans, then why not revel in it-- just a little?
Besides. With any luck, it was the last life he would have to take. As soon as he got to Albuquerque, he would convince a few tourists to generously donate their wealth, and find shelter. What else did most humans need, besides a safe place to sleep? A phone or computer, to access information and communicate. Access to transportation. Food, clothes, hygiene supplies. The hardest thing to acquire would be his human identity.
Nasedo knew a little of what he had to do. After all, Isobel, Max, and Michael hadn't come with proper papers, either. Isobel and Max's parents didn't say much about it, but their father was a lawyer himself, and had shared the story of how the three had been found nameless, mute, and naked in the desert. They hadn't had any records, of course. No parents found, no proof of any of their births. He had mentioned in passing how some families chose not to have social security numbers for their children, often due to religious reasons. It was assumed that that's what had happened to Isobel and her brothers. Kids like that could still get one later in life.
All it would take was a good story, and a little persuasion.
A four hour transfer in El Paso, Texas, gave Nasedo time to grab a cheap burger from the closest fast food restaurant. It was so unlike the ones at the Crashdown-- thick, juicy beasts piled high with crisp pickles, onions, and sweet rounds of tomato-- but it quieted the snarling in his stomach. It also gave him a chance to mull around town and pick a few pockets, gathering up a small bundle of cash; he bought new clothes at a funky boutique, changing before he got back to the bus station.
It was strange to walk among so many humans after all that had happened within the last two days. He expected that, at any moment, someone would notice that he wasn't human. Or, perhaps, someone would have recognized him somehow from Carlsbad. After all, he couldn't wipe the memories of everyone possibly within eyesight. Which was why Nasedo got nervous when, as they made a brief stop in Las Cruces to pick up other passengers, an older woman stared hard at him before taking the seat at his side. Her eyes were hazel and deeply wrinkled around the ends; she had long salt and pepper hair, pulled back into a braid, and skin just a bit darker than his own. Perhaps how his mother would have looked, had she lived to become an elder.
"I'm sorry for staring," she said, with a thick accent that he couldn't place. "You look so much like my grandnephew. He lives so far away now."
Nasedo didn't know what to say, so he pretended he was talking to an elder from back home. It felt less bizarre. "I'm sorry he's far away. Do you see him at all?"
"Not often. I'm going to see him this week. He lives in Sante Fe with his parents. It's very beautiful there."
"I've never been."
"Maybe someday." She leaned a bit closer. "Are you traveling towards someone, or away from them?"
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, you have a look. I have two children, nine grandchildren. I know the look."
For a moment, Nasedo didn't respond. "Away from someone," he finally answered. His throat squeezed shut, and it was hard to speak. "I, uh. I messed up, and I'm trying to make it right."
The old woman reached out and rested her hand on his. "Have faith. You'll find your way back to them, someday."
"How do you know?"
"When you get to be my age, you know."
They spent the next eight hours alternating between silence, dozing, and Nasedo smiling appreciatively as the old woman showed him pictures she had of her 'favorite children'-- nine cats that were being watched by her eldest daughter, and her daughter's wife. Both were doctors, the old woman said with a proud look. When the bus pulled up to the station in Albuquerque, Nasedo had learned more about knitting and indoor gardening than he'd ever anticipated.
"Thank you for the company," Nasedo said to her as they got off the bus. The time had gone by faster than expected, and he almost felt sad at parting ways. "Have fun seeing your grandnephew."
The woman gave him a hug, and he didn't resist. "Bless you. Good luck."
He watched after her as she shuffled to the parking lot, and to a car that was waiting. A couple helped her in; to his surprise, the old woman looked back and waved through the window. Nasedo waved back, unable to help smiling.
Maybe, just maybe, some humans weren't so bad.

Cindella is a character who was created for the second part of my Wario bros and Maya the Bee stories, and was basically a temporary love interest to one of the series' main characters, Warrio. It may be a strange thing for Cindella to wear ice skates, especially if there's no ice around. But she has somehow mastered the art of ice skating on all kinds of terrain.
After having the engine on his Pocket Rocket malfunction, and not wanting to walk all the way to some vehicle repair center, Earthworm Jim is forced to stay on the road and fetch a ride.

The Life of The Prophet Muhammad(pbuh): Calling the Tribes to Islam, the Allegiances of Aqaba and Migration to Madinah
Ghazwas and Sariyyas
Ghazwa : (Military expeditions in which the prophet took part)
Sariyya : (Military expeditions in which the prophet did not take part)
Ghazwah of Buwat(Month of Rabiulawwal, 2nd Year of Hijrah)
The Prophet left Madinah with two hundred Muhajirs. His aim was to walk against and intimidate the big caravan of Quraysh consisting of 2500 camels controlled by one hundred guards, among whom was Umayya b. Khalaf, the ferocious polytheist.
The Prophet proceeded up to the Buwat Mount but did not see anyone; so he returned to Madinah.
Ghazwah of Safawan(Month of Rabiulawwal, 2nd Year of Hijrah)
Kurz bin Jabir al-Fihri, one of the Makkan polytheists, attacked the meadows of Madinah with his friends and stole many animals belonging to the people of Madinah and Muslims.
Upon this attack, the Prophet appointed Zayd b. Haritha as his deputy in Madinah and set out to follow the plunderer. He proceeded to the Safawan valley of Badr region. However, Kurz was informed that he was being followed; so, he fled through a far away road.
Thereupon the Prophet returned to Madinah.
This ghazwa is also called “Badr al-Ula”; that is, “the first Ghazwa of Badr”.
Ghazwah of Ushayra(Month of Jumada al-awwal, 2nd Year of Hijrah)
Three months after the Ghazwah of Safawan, the Messenger of Allah left Madinah with a military unit consisting of 150-200 muhajirs. They had thirty camels with them. The soldiers rode the camels in turns.
The aim was to follow the caravan of trade sent by Quraysh to Damascus.
However, when they reached the plain of Ushayra, belonging to Banu Mudlij and which was nine halting places away from Madinah, they found out that the caravan of Quraysh had passed two or three days earlier.
The Prophet who gave great importance to securing the surroundings of Madinah signed a treaty of friendship with Banu Mudlij, who were the allies of Banu Damra, with whom the Prophet had agreed a similar agreement before, there. Then, he returned to Madinah.
Sariyya Led by Abdullah b. Jahsh(Month of Rajab, 2nd Year of Hijrah)
The Prophet called Abdullah b. Jahsh to his presence and ordered him to go to the Valley of Nahla with a team of eight Muslims. He addressed that team as follows: “I will appoint someone as your leader; he is not the best of you but he can put with hunger and thirst the most.”
The Messenger of Allah gave a letter to Abdullah b. Jahsh, whom he appointed as their leader. He told him to open the letter after proceeding for two days and to act accordingly.
After a journey of two days, Abdullah b. Jahsh opened the letter and read it as he was commanded. He saw that the following was written in the letter:
“When you read the letter, go down to the Valley of Nahla, which is between Makka and Taif. Watch the Qurayshis there and inform me about them.”
Then, the aim of the sariyya was to watch the Qurayshis and find out about their preparations.
Abdullah b. Jahsh, the heroic Companion, said, “Sa¬mi’na wa ata’na [We have listened to it and obeyed it]”. Then, he turned toward his soldiers and said, “If you want to be a martyr and desire martyrdom, come with me; if you do not want to be a martyr, return. I will fulfill the order of the Messenger of Allah.”
The self-sacrificing warriors stated without hesitation that they were ready for the orders of their leader.
The warriors reached the Valley of Nahla by riding the camels in turns. They stopped there for the night.
Meanwhile, they saw a Quraysh caravan that was carrying raisins and some other kinds of food. They stopped over at a place near them.
The warriors discussed about what to do. They could not decide whether to attack or not at first. They were hesitant whether the month of Rajab, in which it is haram to shed blood, had started or not. Then, they decided that it was one day before the month of Rajab; thereupon, they agreed unanimously to capture the caravan. Meanwhile, Waqid bin Abdullah killed Amr bin Khadrami, the leader of the caravan, with an arrow. The Muslim warriors attacked the others. They took two people captives and captured the caravan.
Those who were not killed or captured ran away toward Makkah to inform the Qurayshis about the incident. The Muslim warriors returned to Madinah with two captives and the caravan.
When Abdullah b. Jahsh, the leader of the Sariyya, informed the Messenger of Allah what had happened, the Prophet got angry and said, “I did not order you to fight in a haram month!”; he did not take anything from the booty.
The warriors who were on the expedition were astonished by the act of the Prophet. When the other Companions did not approve of what they had done, they were in great distress and trouble.
They explained the situation to the Messenger of Allah. They said, “O Messenger of Allah! We killed him on the last day and night of the month of Jumada al-akhir! We sheathed our swords when the month of Rajab started!”
However, the Messenger of Allah did not take the booty allocated to him because there was a doubt about the situation.
As a matter of fact, the Makkan polytheists kept harping about the incident. They said, “Muhammad and his Companions rendered what was haram as halal and shed blood in a haram month, captured bounties and took our men captives.”
Those rumors were heard in Madinah, too.
Besides, the Jews in Madinah started to talk about it, too.
The warriors that were on the expedition were very sorry; on the other hand, Makkan polytheists and Jews in Madinah were talking against them. The Prophet did not accept the booty allocated for him.
After a while, a verse was sent down regarding the issue and the issue was settled down. The following is stated in the verse:
“They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members. Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can.”
The warriors who joined the sariyya were relieved of the troubles and spiritual agonies. The Prophet accepted his share of the beauty. The polytheists paid ransom for the captives. One of the captives, Uthman b. Abdullah went to Makkah but the other one, Ha¬kam b. Kaysan became a Muslim and stayed in Madinah.
How did Hakam b. Kaysan become a Muslim?
We would like to state how Hakam b. Kaysan, one of the captives, became a Muslim to draw lessons here.
When he was taken captive by the warriors, Abdullah b. Jahsh, the commander, wanted to kill him; however, the other Companions prevented it by saying, “No. Let us take him to the Messenger of Allah.” Thus, Hakam was saved from being killed.
When they returned to Madinah, they took him to the Prophet. The Messenger of Allah asked Hakam to become a Muslim. However, he did not accept it and started to say bad things.
Having got furious due to Hakam’s talk, Hazrat Umar said, “He will not become a Muslim, O Messenger of Allah! Let me kill him!”
The Messenger of Allah did not let him do it and asked Hakam to become a Muslim again. Hakam asked, “What is Islam?”
The Messenger of Allah said, “Islam is belief in the existence of one Allah, who has no partners and worshipping Him, and witnessing that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.” Thereupon, Hakam said, “I have become a Muslim.” and uttered kalima ash-shahadah.
The Messenger of Allah turned toward the Companions and said, “If we had killed him as you wanted, he would have gone to Hell!”, teaching us all a lesson.
The desire, patience and steadfastness about calling people to Islam saved a person from Hell and elevated him to the honorable rank of Companionship.

RIOT V | Inducted into the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame; reveal cover and title of new album!
On Wednesday January 24th 2018, the metal community gathered in Anaheim, USA for the Hall of Heavy Metal History induction ceremony. Cult New York heavy metal band and godfathers of power metal RIOT V were inducted alongside Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward, Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess and bass virtuoso Billy Sheehan amongst other metal royalty – all honoured for their contributions and influence on the community at large. "I am honoured and psyched to be inducted into this year’s Heavy Metal History Hall of Fame with Riot!" commented Don Van Stavern. "Our 30-plus year’s in existence is a testament to the longevity of a band through the fan’s love of our music. I am also honoured to be inducted alongside legendary musicians like Bill Ward from Black Sabbath, Carmen Appice and of course last year's recipients, the greats Lemmy, Randy Rhoads and Dio and that's an honour and award itself!"
Today, the band revealed that they will release their sixteenth album entitled Armor Of Light on April 27th!
The album was produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (Metal Church, Flotsam & Jetsam, Slipknot, Korn). The cover artwork was created by Mariusz Gandzel (Crystal Viper).
The new songs promise to please fans of the Thundersteel-era of RIOT, as main song writer and long-time Mark Reale music collaboratorDon Van Stavern undertook a lot of the writing process, as he did on Thundersteel, The Privilege of Power and the latest offering Unleash The Fire. Don van Stavern adds: "This next offering will please long-time fans and create new ones - the material is fresh and power metal at its finest."
Stay tuned for more information on Armor Of Light.
Since their legendary debut album Rock City (1977), RIOT has released numerous heavy metal classics, including Fire Down Under (with classics like ‘Swords And Tequila’), their masterpiece Thundersteel (1988) and the unforgettable The Privilege Of Power (1990).
After the death of Mark Reale and the departure of Tony Moore, Todd Michael Hall (from Michigan USA), completed the line-up of the band, which in the meantime performed under the name of RIOT V under the auspices of the two long-term members and main songwriters Donnie van Stavern (bass) and Mike Flyntz (guitar). With the critically acclaimed Unleash The Fire (2014), a pure power metal pearl once again underlined the musical importance and influence of the quintet.
Many artists name-check RIOT as an important influence on their musical career and have paid tribute to the power metal godfathers on multiple occasions. The list is long and includes several well-known acts such as Hammerfall (Flight Of The Warrior), Luca Turilli's Rhapsody (Thundersteel), Axel Rudi Pell (Warrior) and newcomers such as Night Demon (Road Racin), Alpha Tiger (Flight Of The Warrior), Savage Master(Swords And Tequila) and Stallion (Rock City).
RIOT V are true metal soldiers – they will keep marching onwards and fighting the good fight to bring you the great music you’ve come to know, love and expect from them.

The Power Of Pain (w/ Paul Jones) [1987]
Some teams are formed out of a mutual respect that’s formed when the two powers realize each other’s strengths. Such was the case for The Powers Of Pain. In 1986, The Warlord joined the NWA Central States territory while managed by Baby Doll and began a feud with The Barbarian, who was managed by Paul Jones. When Baby Doll stopped managing The Warlord, the feud ended and Jones began managing Warlord as well as Barbarian, which borned the team known as The Powers Of Pain.
youtube
As a duo, The Powers Of Pain feuded with The Road Warriors for Jim Crockett Promotions, memorably slamming Animal's head into a stack of weights and injuring his eye socket. Teaming with Ivan Koloff, The Powers Of Pain won the World Six-Man Tag Team Championships from The Road Warrios and Dusty Rhodes before leaving the NWA after being stripped of the titles. In June of 1988, The Powers Of Pain came to the WWF and defeated Demolition via countout on their first night with the company. The team, managed by Tito Santana, feuded with Demolition. For a short time, Baron Von Raschke was the team's manager, leading them to victory over The Bolsheviks at SummerSlam.
At Survivor Series, Demolition turned face when Mr. Fuji attacked the group and aligned himself with The Powers Of Pain. The team would spend the rest of 1989 feuding with Demolition, and would go into feuds with The Hart Foundation, The Bushwhackers, and The Rockers. In March of 1990, the team split with Mr. Fuji selling The Barbarian's contract to Bobby Heenan and The Warlord's contract to Slick.
