Someone: you like good omens? So you're a rape apologist? You support Neil Gaiman? You deserve to die

me: The only way to watch this show in its entirety is to pirate it. Watching legit requires over a dozen streaming services
Dumbass who doesnt know what piracy is: You dont have to pirate it! its all on this unofficial website for free and without ads!

Wellllllllllll that last ask was rather dramatic a response to some very true tags
i know right?!
like yeah it was not the best analogy but I’m pretty sure it got my point across to most people, if it really missed the point of the post im pretty sure Fin would have said something in a reblog, it almost seemed like that anon didn’t expand the tags and read the rest of what I said.

"Murderbot always makes a distinction between Real Humans and Disabled Humans because it likes talking to Disabled Humans more!"
the fact that people will just say this like it's not the most blatant and absurd lie ever is extremely hilarious to me.
Sarcasm: Ah yes. Murderbot always makes sure to tell us the disabled humans are less human because it enjoys talking to the disabled humans more. uh huh. Murderbot sure does love talking to humans. definitely. it loves talking to disabled humans so much and that's why Martha Wells, the very real author, always makes sure to remind us that Disabled Humans Aren't Really Human by reminding us at every opportunity that humans are one group, and augmented humans are another, completely separate group. /sarcasm.
Especially when I'm specifically talking about Martha Wells' writing across several of her book series but people who admit they've only read The Murderbot Diaries will insist that she's not doing anything wrong and there are no patterns of bigotry in her work at all. Like. Hello. you literally just said you've only read this one single series of hers that's only made up of short stories. why do you think her most lazily written series, which in and of itself is still filled with casual bigotry, is proof that there's nothing wrong with her writing or that she doesn't have any bigoted biases she needs to unlearn.

if I may be a lil selfish for a min I can't help but be disappointed about clowns boundaries changing about NSFW, bc now I feel like I'm gonna lose the 1 fandom I had where i could browse with almost complete certainty that I wouldn't come across sexual content. and, more importantly, could browse without sfw references to sexuality
like. as a sex repulsed asexual it can be so fucking alienating when almost every space has references to sex or being horny or jokes about being horny or jokes where the punchline is just that you're horny (these ones honestly piss me off. the rest are whatever but like. just go masturbate dude I don't care) and it was nice to have this fandom where ppl didn't do that. especially since this isn't common; you'd think it would be common fucking sense not to make porn of children's media (not saying welcome hone is children's media btw. just talking in general here) or to at the very least keep it out of reach of children but no. rule 34 is gonna rule 34
and yeah yeah I know the NSFW shit has its own tag and that's great and I've blocked it but honestly I don't have faith in ppl to follow it as strictly. not only bc I feel some ppl will just hear about it being ok and not hear about the tag (or will only care to notice), but because it's so easy to forget.
I just. h. I know it's not my choice to make but fuck man.

They weren’t lying, reading comprehension on this site really is piss-poor
There's these things that are not really tropes of a specific genre, and are nowhere near common enough to be a cliché - but they are remembered with the same kind of status, even if this specific thing only actually unironically happened only once in one specific work of the genre, and has been replicated in every single parody of the whole genre ever since, to the point where people assume it's a cliché because it happens so much.
But the thing is, they are their own distinct thing, which I will refer to as "this might as well happen"-isms. Things that are so distinctly weird in such a specific way that they could only happen within the parametres of this specific genre. Things that would be utterly absurd anywhere else, but since it's happening in This Specific Genre, none of the characters find it odd or even question that something like that would happen.
Like maybe there's only one story where the divinely beautiful protagonist is an orphan because her father once saw a woman so beautiful that he could never eat again, and consequently starved to death, and her mother died out of grief over something completely unrelated. And then it turns out that there never was some other woman, the woman that the protagonist's father saw was actually her mother all along, and he did not recognise his own wife because she was wearing a disguise.
And this doesn't need to happen a second time in any other serious story, all it takes is one time, but the way the entire world of the story treats this like a plausible thing that happens to people sometimes, really entrenches this kind of thing as a "this might as well happen" of the genre.

i just kind of hate how every time someone is writing a female character, there is far more scrutiny on whether she is “good” representation. like no one ever writes a male character and is like “hmm… is this good representation for men?” because they’re ALLOWED to be written as smart or stupid, or serious or funny, or sensitive or mean, or loud or quiet, or competent or irrational, or jovial or angry, or wise or inexperienced, or pathetic or badass, or good or evil, or complex or one-dimensional. and they will ALWAYS be loved in some shape or form.
but the MOMENT a woman is any one of those things (even tho women irl can ALL have these traits), there are video essays and entire blogs and articles dedicated to Why That’s Not A Good Woman. and like YES, good female representation is important. i acknowledge and agree with that to hell and back. but god damn let these writers breathe. no one is ever going to want to write women again if we shove these impossible standards down their throats.

edit: for clarification i don't really expect ppl to be giving out the name of the hospital or their address. if you read closely and carefully it asks how do you interpret the question not the answer you would give. meaning do you associate the question where you were born as the literal place you were extracted or shot out from the womb or as where you grew up. there's also no real difference between city and state etc bc where i live states aren't a thing.

Except I didn’t defend Nazis. I said it was good that you didn’t like them. You just didn’t like what I said and your judgement is based not on moral convictions but on emotional response.
Tumblr media
I said you equated Republicans with Nazis when they aren’t the same. Who told you they were? Was it a teacher? News outlet? Piece of media?
I even mentioned this behavior that you continue to double down on is how the Nazis acted back in the day. You’re the one acting like a Nazi.
i wish ppl on this website, and within leftist circles in general, were a little less gung ho about making jokes or statements like "billionaires arent people" "nazis arent people" "police arent people"
there is no level of evil where a human stops being a human. if you decide to kill them for their crimes, then you are killing a human. and sometimes that is justified! oil execs and war profiteers have destroyed countless lives in service of their own sick greed, and given the chance to enact that same violence on them, id probably pop their heads like a pimple.
but it is important that we do not shy away from the reality of that choice. it is a human life that is being ended. a person with interiority, feelings, family.
if we stop considering any group as people, even a group defined by their own evil actions, then we are drawing a line to divide society into persons and non-persons, and stating that those non-persons do not deserve to live.
i hope i dont need to explain why that is a dangerous position to take.
these people and all of their evil, their greed, their hatred, are just as much a part of humanity as art, culture, language, food. they are a part of us that has grown malignant and cancerous, and like a cancer, they must be excised for the sake of the whole--but they are still a part of us, made of the same stuff as us, down to their cores.
evil humans are still humans.

Wow, you really said leave the pedophile rapist alone and let her have the W, huh? Way to do absolutely nothing and then proceed to make it worse. I bet you're another Fennec.
No I just don't think that bitching about how bad she is at Pokèmon is really the hill any of us should be dying on.

if one more person says "Disability metaphor? It's not even a metaphor lol! They just explicitly have ADHD/dyslexia!" in the tags of that one post im gonna start biting.
1. If you read the word "metaphor" and presumed I was referring to something that is not a metaphor and that you are identifying is not a metaphor... perhaps you have assumed what I was talking about incorrectly. Perhaps when I said metaphor. I was referring. To actual metaphors.
2. If you think there are no disability metaphors in the PJO series outside of just all of the demigod characters explicitly having adhd/dyslexia, then a.) you dont know what a metaphor is and b.) you are the exact type of person I was making a joke about in that post.
anyways here's my post going into most of the major disability metaphors outside of just demigods being adhd/dyslexic.

Answering the original question: I hate the way the stick to my lips and tongue, I do not like the way the paper feels against my teeth, and they tend to fall apart faster than I can drink my beverage.
Why does everyone on here hate paper straws? I love them.
