HOW TO HAVE THE MOST DOLLY SLUMBER PARTY EVER ;
when i think of the month of october i think of GLAMOROUS parties. and that incorporates girly slumber parties, halloween parties, a LOT of parties. SOO the kind of party that i wanted to focus on in this month's catalogue is slumber parties.
to throw a successful slumber party we first need a plan. make sure that u have refreshments, entertainment, invitations and all of that planned. if u wanna have a SUPER cute slumber party have a theme. some theme ideas can be
♡ victoria's secret (V.S. pj's, lingerie, everyone wears a V.S. robe etc)♡ 2000's ♡ movie based pajamas♡ a color scheme (black and pink is my fave)
and we can't have our girls being bored at our slumber party can we? make sure that u plan fun activities like having a fashion show (playing dress up) playing dress to impress or video games like that, baking sweet treats, karaoke, dolling each other up ETC. for refreshments you could do a snack bar or make mocktails, you could even do a milkshake station!
THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW 2024 ANALYSIS ;
🧁 anok yai’s floral number (she’s literally blooming, she looks like a FLOWER. her hair is giving barbie dolll and ultimately she had my favorite look of the whole entire night. the WINGSSS, the shoes everything just goes together beautifully.)
🧁 gigi hadid (she looks like a lavender princess fairy and it looks amazing on her. but PLEASEE why the slick hair?? when i think victorias secret im thinking of bouncy voluminous hair. i LOVE her wings though. they're so big and over the top and i love it)
🧁 imaan hamman (also goes with lisa and anok yai in my top three favorite looks of the night. its so simple but in my opinion her look gives the victorias secret that we all know and love the most.)
🧁 alex consani (i rly rly love baby blue on her, again, please bring back bouncy voluminous hair. and i kinda wish they gave her fluffier wings.)
🧁 lisa’s black lacy number (def one of my favorites on the whole runway. i wish she had black lacy wings instead of the structured ones but easily one of my favorites)
🧁 maty fall (the silk, the feathers, chefs KISS. in his case i think the minimal wings look the prettiest because her outfit is fuller, the delicate wings complement it beautifully.)
OCTOBER BODYCARE, MAKEUP AND FRAGRANCE FAVORITES ;
body care : hello kitty strawberry oat milk body balm from creme, vanilla creme brûlée body lotion from hempz (this one smells like HEAVEN), and fresh cream by philosophy. i rly loved the nyx marshmallow primer and for fragrance the soft and dreamy scent from victorias secret PINK (it just gives me so much nostalgia around this season 💗🍬)
DRESS TO IMPRESS NEW UPDATE ;
dress to impress is every hottie's favorite game, and when DTI dropped its halloween update, everyone including myself was so super STOKED about it. there are new codes and SO many new possibilities unlocked. speaking of codes…💬🎀
❤︎ CH00P1E_1S_B4CK (boots, jacket and skirt)
❤︎ UMOYAE (skater dress)
❤︎ D1ORST4R (star purse and hair bow)
❤︎ S3M_0W3N_Y4Y (axe weapon)
OCTOBER IT GIRL ACTIVITIES ;
like i said in the first section of this month's magazine, i associate october with PARTIES and ik a lot of us are going to halloween parties so i just wanted to share some rules of thumb especially if its ur first party, on how to have fun while also being safe.
make sure that u have a designated driver at all times
don't overdo it with the drinks, thats never hot
make sure u have ice cold water to sip on, on the car ride home
be careful, make sure that drinks are poured in front of u or you get them yourself
dont party by yourself GO WITH A FRIEND U TRUST AND STICK TOGETHER
and of course have fun 🍭 this year im dressing up as the white rabbit from alice in wonderland so im super excited to look cute and have fun with my friends
if partying is not ur thing there are SO many fun things that you can do this october. for example binge watching october movies, or doing fall related activities like we talked about in last month's section. some movies that i love to watch in october are
♡ jennifer's body
♡ ginger snaps
♡ scream
♡ the love witch
i dont usually watch things that are too scary which is why my list is so short 😭 i get scared rly easily so i try and watch movies that aren't SO scary but if you like that there are some rly good ones out there.

Pink is for Boys
"Pink or Blue? Which is intended for boys and which for girls? This question comes from one of our readers this month, and the discussion may be of interest to others. There has been a great diversity of opinion on this subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." ~ The Infants' Department, June 1918
[Left: The Blue Boy, oil on canvas, c. 1770, by Thomas Gainsborough.
Right: The Pink Boy, oil on canvas, c. 1782, by Thomas Gainsborough.]
Pink is for girls and blue is for boys. But it hasn't always been this way. Colour coding infants as a way of denoting gender was popular in 20th century America. The problem? Pink and blue? Which is for boys and which is for girls?
In 1927 TIME Magazine asked ten of the "leading stores that sell baby equipment" which colour was for which gender. Four stores responded pink for girls and blue for boys; Macy's (Manhattan), Franklin Simon (Manhattan), Wanamaker's (Philadelphia) and Bullock's (Los Angeles). Five stores responded pink for boys and blue for girls; Best's (Manhattan), Marshall Field's (Chicago), Filene's (Boston), Maison Blanche (New Orleans) and The White House (San Francisco). Curiously Halle's (Cleveland) responded that pink was for both boys and girls.
This debate would continue and it wasn't until mid-20th century that pink for girls and blue for boys became firmly cemented in western culture.
However the idea of colour coding infants dates back to the 19th century. According to La cour de Hollande sous le règne de Louis Bonaparte in 1808 in Holland pink was used to announce the birth of a girl and blue a boy. In March 1856 Peterson's Magazine (Philadelphia, USA) advises that the ribbon on a christening cap should be blue for a boy and pink for a girl. On the 23rd of July 1893 the New York Times writes that for baby clothes it's "pink for a boy and blue for a girl!"
[The Oddie Children, oil on canvas, c. 1789, by William Beechey, via North Carolina Museum of Art.]
During the latter half of the 18th century one of the most popular outfits for young children, regardless of gender, was a white dress with a coloured sash tied around the waist. Pink and blue being the most popular colours, although other colours were worn as well. It would be tempting to assume that the colour of the sash indicated gender but there isn't clear evidence that this was the case. The Oddie Children (above) depicts Sarah, Henry, Catherine, and Jane Oddie. The three girls are all wearing white dresses; two with a blue sash one with a pink sash. We also see Henry Russell (bellow left) wearing a blue sash and Prince William (bellow right) wearing a pink sash.

Pink was just one of the many colours popular in 18th century English womenswear and seems to have stayed popular throughout the century. On the 3rd of January 1712 The Spectator published an article in which a man recalls seeing "a little Cluster of Women sitting together in the prettiest coloured Hoods that I ever saw. One of them was Blew, another Yellow, and another Philomot; the fourth was of a Pink Colour, and the fifth of a pale Green". On the 1st of May 1736 the Read's Weekly Journal, or British Gazetteer reports that the ladies attending the royal wedding wore gowns of "Gold stuffs, or rich Silks with Gold or Silver Flowers, or Pink or White Silks, with either Gold or Silver Netts or Trimmings;" shoes either "Pink, White or Green Silk, with Gold or Silver Lace and braid all over." On the 24th of May 1785 Charles Storer writes to Abigail Adams advising that fashionable colours in English court dress are "pink, lilac, and blue" such "as is worn at Versailles".

In particular pink was popular amongst young women as the colour was associated with youth. Older women who wore pink were mocked as vain for dressing in a way that was seen as improper for their age. On the 31st of January 1754 Lady Jane Coke writes to Mrs. Eyre criticising old women who wear pink:
As for fashions in dress, which you sometimes inquire after, they are too various to describe. One thing is new, which is, there is not such a thing as a decent old woman left, everybody curls their hair, shews their neck, and wears pink, but your humble servant. People who have covered their heads for forty years now leave off their caps and think it becomes them, in short we try to out-do our patterns, the French, in every ridiculous vanity.
[Folly Embellishing Old Age With the Adornments of Youth, oil on canvas, c. 1743, by Charles-Antoine Coypel, via Master Art.]
For Englishmen acceptable clothing way much more limited. In A Foreign View of England in the Reigns of George I & George II Monsieur César de Saussure writes that Englishmen "do not trouble themselves about dress, but leave that to their womenfolk". He explains:
Englishmen are usually very plainly dressed, they scarcely ever wear gold on their clothes; they wear little coats called "frocks," without facings and without pleats, with a short cape above. Almost all wear small, round wigs, plain hats, and carry canes in their hands, but no swords. Their cloth and linen are of the best and finest. You will see rich merchants and gentlemen thus dressed, and sometimes even noblemen of high rank, especially in the morning, walking through the filthy and muddy streets.
César de Saussure warns that "a well-dressed person in the streets, especially if he is wearing a braided coat, a plume in his hat, or his hair tied in a bow, he will, without doubt, be called "French dog" twenty times perhaps before he reaches his destination" and is not only at risk of "being jeered at" but also "being bespattered with mud, but as likely as not dead dogs and cats will be thrown at him."
[Reverend Charles Everard Booth, Captain Griffith Booth, and an Unidentified Man playing Billiards, oil on canvas, c. 1775-9, by John Hamilton Mortimer, via the Royal Collection Trust.]
For Englishmen dressing "plainly" mostly meant wearing blacks and browns. In his book on macaroni, Pretty Gentleman, Peter McNeil found that in contrast most English menswear that he describes as generally consisting of "monochrome broadcloth" macaroni wore a variety of colours including green, orange, yellow, violet, red, white, blue, gold, silver and of course pink.
But it's not just the macaroni of the 1770s & 1780s that wore pink. We see pink in descriptions of feminine men's dress (both real and fictional) throughout the 18th century.
On the 2nd of June 1722 Sarah Osborn writes to Robert Byng:
I believe the gentlemen will wear petticoats very soon, for many of their coats were like our mantuas. Lord Essex had a silver tissue coat, and pink color lutestring waistcoat, and several had pink color and pale blue paduasoy coats, which looked prodigiously effeminate.
On the 18th of October 1729 the Universal Spectator and Weekly Journal published a story where an "effeminate" man's clothes were described as follows:
He had a flower'd pink-colour Silk Coat, with a Green-Sattin Waistcoat lac'd with Silver. Velvet Breeches, Clock'd Stockings the Colour of his Coat, Red-heel'd Pumps, a Blue Ribbon at the Collar of his Shirt, and his Sword-Hilt he embrac'd under the Elbow of his Left Arm,
[Sir Miles Stapylton, 4th Bt of Myton, oil on canvas, c. 1730-35, via Art UK.]
In The Adventures of Roderick Random (1748) the effeminate (and queer coded) Captain Whiffle is described as follows:
our new commander came on board in a ten-oared barge, overshadowed with a vast umbrella, and appeared in everything the reverse of Oakum, being a tall, thin young man, dressed in this manner: a white hat, garnished with a red feather, adorned his head, from whence his hair flowed upon his shoulders, in ringlets tied behind with a ribbon. His coat, consisting of pink-coloured silk, lined with white, by the elegance of the cut retired backward, as it were, to discover a white satin waistcoat embroidered with gold, unbuttoned at the upper part to display a brooch set with garnets, that glittered in the breast of his shirt, which was of the finest cambric, edged with right Mechlin: the knees of his crimson velvet breeches scarce descended so low as to meet his silk stockings, which rose without spot or wrinkle on his meagre legs, from shoes of blue Meroquin, studded with diamond buckles that flamed forth rivals to the sun! A steel-hilted sword, inlaid with gold, and decked with a knot of ribbon which fell down in a rich tassel, equipped his side; and an amber-headed cane hung dangling from his wrist. But the most remarkable parts of his furniture were, a mask on his face, and white gloves on his hands, which did not seem to be put on with an intention to be pulled off occasionally, but were fixed with a curious ring on the little finger of each hand.
[Henry Ingram, 7th Viscount Irwin and His Wife Anne, oil on canvas, c. 1745, by Philippe Mercier, via Art UK.]
On the 28th of July 1780 the London Courant reports:
A few days ago, a Macaroni made his appearance in the Assembly-room at Whitehaven, in the Following dress: a mixed silk coat, pink sattin waistcoat and breeches, covered with an elegant silver nett, white silk stockings with pink clocks, pink sattin shoes and large pearl buckles, a mushroom coloured stock, covered with a fine point lace; his hair dressed remarkably high, and stuck full of pearl pins.
On the 6th of August 1792 The Weekly Entertainer published Sketches and Portraits form the Life by Simon Tueopnrastus which included the following description:
Mercator was a youth of some genius and expectation, but by a strange perverseness of disposition, notwithstanding the extreme natural stiffness of his limbs, he had acquired an early attachment to the most finical and effeminate finery; so that, while yet a boy, he would exhaust every expedient of a fertile invention to procure a laced waistcoat, or the most foppish toy; would dangle a watch-string, with brass seals, from each fob, at a time when the frugal care of his parents would not permit him to wear a watch in either; and would strut in a fine pair of second-hand pink silk breeches, and a light blue coat, with all the formal dignity of—a soldier upon the parade.
[Left: Thomas King in "The Clandestine Marriage", oil on canvas, c. 1792, by Samuel De Wilde, via Yale Center for British Art.
Right: Edward Payne, oil on canvas, by Arthur Devis, via Art UK.]
While pink is mentioned in these descriptions of feminine men's dress it's not singled out as the girl colour the way pink would become in the 20th century. I would argue pink is seen as effeminate not because pink is a uniquely feminine colour but because it was used in fashionable dress. In 18th century England being interested in fashion was seen as an frivolous female trait. Men who showed too much interest in fashion were mocked and ridiculed for their gender nonconformity. "A Man must sink below the Dignity of his Nature, before he can suffer his Thoughts to be taken up on so trivial an Affair, as the Chosing, Suiting, and Adjusting the Adornments of his Person," complains a letter published on the 8th of May 1731 in Read's Weekly Journal, or British Gazetteer:
Decency of Garb ought inviolably to be preserved; nor can there be possibly an Excuse for Dressing like a Merry-Andrew: Rich and coloured Silks are in themselves effeminate, and unbecoming a Man; as are, in short, all Things that discover Dress to have been his Study 'Tis in vain for a Fop of Quality, to think his Title will protect him.

Right: Elizabeth Wrottesley, later Duchess of Grafton, oil on canvas, c. 1764-5, by Thomas Gainsborough, via National Gallery of Victoria.]
English fashion was highly influenced by French fashion. A popular colour scheme in French fashion was green and pink. A famous example of this colour pairing can be seen in François Boucher's portrait of Madame de Pompadour (above left), she is depicted in a green gown with pink bows and flowers. You can see and example of how this style inspired English fashion in Thomas Gainsborough's portrait of Elizabeth Wrottesley (above right), who is depicted in a green gown with a floral pattern adorned with pink, white and green striped bows.
[Left: Sir Harry Fetherstonhaugh, oil on canvas, c. 1776, by Pompeo Batoni, via Wikimedia.
Right: Francis Lind, oil on canvas, c. 1775, by George Romney, via Mackinnon Fine Art.]
Fashionable Englishmen were also inspired by these French designs. Horace Walpole refers to the popularity of the colour combination writing to Lady Ossory on the 19th of February 1774 "If I went to Almack's and decked out my wrinkles in pink and green like Lord Harrington, I might still be in vogue". Almack's is referring to Almack's Assembly Rooms on Pall Mall which is believed to be the inspiration for the Macaroni Club. (see Pretty Gentleman by Petter McNeil p52-55) In a letter to Lord Harcourt on the 27th of July 1773 Walpole writes of "Macaronis lolling out of windows at Almack's like carpets to be dusted."
[Left: Detail of Stephen Fox from The Hervey Conversation Piece, oil on canvas, c. 1738-40, by William Hogarth, via Fairfax House.

Right: Portrait of a Gentleman, oil on canvas, by George Romney.]
Men who wore green seem to have been just as much, if not more, at risk of being ridiculed, or even assaulted, for the colour of their clothes as those who wore pink. In Pierre Jean Grosley's A Tour to London (originally published 1772) he recalls traveling with a young English surgeon who was harassed by Londoners due to his green French frock coat:
At the first visit which he paid me in London, he informed me, that, a few days after his arrival, happening to take a walk thro' the fields on the Surry side of the Thames, dressed in a little green frock, which he had brought from Paris, he was attacked by three of those gentlemen of the mobility, who, taking him for a Frenchman, not only abused him with the foulest language, but gave him two or three slaps on the face: "Luckily, added he in French, I did not return their ill language; for, if I had, they would certainly have thrown me into the Thames, as they assured me they would, as soon as they perceived I was an Englishman, if I ever happened to come in their way again, in my Paris dress."

JAY AS YOUR SUGAR DADDY
PAIRING: sugar daddy!jay x fem!reader
WARNING: 18+ content, minors dni
— Jay would start off slow with you, sending you gifts every few days, gifts like imported chocolates, bouquets of flowers, his favourite wines and all the things that you’d even pay the faintest of your attention to. He’d be ready to get it for you in a heartbeat.
— He’d spoil you every chance he gets to. You want something? He’ll get it for you. From renting out whole shops just for you to have a comfortable shopping experience to fucking you in the shop after dismissing the staff, he’d do it all. He’d love to call you his angel, play with you like a doll and treat you like a princess.
— As someone who’s deep into fashion, he’d want you to dress up in the prettiest outfits, he’d select them himself for you, getting you the most expensive pieces from the latest brand collections. Would love it when you’d wear little dresses as it would give him an easy access to your thighs, he’d be the kind to rest his hands there, squeezing them slightly and inching them upwards to toy with your panties, he’d love to see you whimper, a little smirk evident on his face as he’d make you fall apart just on his fingers.
— Taking you out for the most luxurious dates, his private jet always ready to escort you both to your desired destinations, he’d love to drink wine with you, asking you if he can worship your body while being surrounded by the clouds, he’d caress your body, a shiver going down your spine with how cold his rings felt against your warm body, how his thick cock would fill you up, stretching your pussy with pleasure as his chain would dangle near your clavicle, his mouth sucking a pretty mark on your neck. All this before you reach your location.
— He’d take you out to luxury parties with him, placing a protective hand on your waist, the possessiveness of you being his sugar baby would be evident, and he won’t hesitate to show it. He’d maybe go as far as leaving the party to fuck you in his limousine, not caring if he rips off your expensive dress in the process.
— Jay would get the most intricate pieces of lingerie for you, the kind that wouldn’t hide anything, he’d love to touch you all the time, he’s soft when he has to be, but when teased, he’d not hesitate to show you who the incharge is. He loves praising you, he loves groaning near your ear when you ride his cock with your skirt lifting up your waist.
— Expect him to have a room full of sex toys, everything he’d ever wish to try, he’d love to cuff your wrists with a pink handcuff, blindfolding you and overdosing you with all the pleasure he can provide, your skin burning with each area he touches, he’d make sure you feel comfortable with him, but he’d also make sure to fuck you dumb. He’d have silk sheets in his room, black ones, and he’d have a big mirror on the celing for you to watch exactly how he thrusts into your cunt and makes you cum all over his cock.

At least, Hongjoong really hoped so. “What’s your major?” “Art,” He offered simply, shrugging, lost in her eyes. “I like to draw and stuff.” “That’s so sick, I wish I could draw.” “Well, if you’re free, I’ve got a single and a tattoo gun.” …Which has to be the least smooth thing he’s ever said, but due to some stroke of luck, some sort of blessing from the heavens, she said: “Sounds metal.”

Seonghwa.
The prettiest girl in school.
Or at least, to Hongjoong she is.
To everyone else, Seonghwa was either nobody or an oddball. With red streaks in her hair and a striking sense of fashion—that is most definitely frowned upon by stuffy professors—she stands out in any room she occupies.
Hongjoong is one of many electric guitarists in his college’s band collective. Normally, someone like Seonghwa would blend into the back of a crowd as eclectic as this; when there’s over a dozen guitarists who all love punk culture as much as you do, they’ll naturally all dress like they have something to prove.
But Seonghwa dresses like she doesn’t.
Seonghwa dresses like she doesn’t care at all about what you think, or what you think she thinks. She dresses like herself. Casual, but not preppy. Organised, but not neat.
Hongjoong’s a hundred percent sure he’s in love with her.
—
The first time he met her, it was at the college’s club fair. Every year, their school hosts a large fair on the quad where different clubs show off their charms in hopes of recruiting new members.
Hongjoong was new then, and wasn’t feeling interested in anything. Dance club: that looked fun, until he realised it was run by a sorority, and wasn’t concerned with any form of dance that resembled passion. Sports clubs: obviously, he’d have to pass on those. Photography club: he considered this one for a second, before a deafening mic feedback rang out. Clutching the side of his head, he turned to glare in the direction of the sound. He was met with an absolute vision.
There was a whole band present on the stage, roughly 5 or 6, Hongjoong didn’t notice. No, all he could see was her. She had her guitar slung over her chest, disregarded for the moment. One foot was propped up on the amp. One hand came up to brush her hair out of her eyes. Hongjoong’s gaze trailed the movement. Photography club was quickly disregarded, and Hongjoong imagined instead what it would be like to be blessed with the privilege to photograph her for the rest of his life.
He wanted to listen to the band’s frontman’s speech about the music club, but his eyes were glued to the girl to the left, slightly to the back. He’d have to do research on the club later.
A mesh top hung loose over her body, making the white sports bra below easily visible. Hongjoong couldn’t look away.
It was that day that he decided he was going to pick up his dusty old electric guitar.
—
It was roughly a month after the fair that Hongjoong worked up the courage to attend his first club meeting.
When he walked in, he was carrying his guitar case in one hand and fidgeting with the other. He glanced around the room, making sure it was the right one. He saw a few people he recognised from the club fair, and he realised something kind of big. What if that girl is just… not here? (Then he’s signed up for a commitment that he’s not really sure he has time for). He loves playing guitar, sure, but he doesn’t really have time for clubs now. It dawned on him then, that it’s a bit stupid, what he’s doing. Signing up for a club just because a hot girl is in it? What is he, twelve?
As his eyes flitted around the room searching for his mysterious crush, a man approached him.
“Hey there, welcome!” He spoke first, holding out a hand to shake. Hongjoong took it. The man’s handshake was firm and he resisted the urge to grimace. “I’m San, I’m the frontman, for now. We don’t really do ‘leaders’ here, but I’m a proud member of the welcoming committee.” He chuckled to himself, smiling widely.
“Hey, nice to meet you. My name’s Hongjoong.” He held up his case, hoping it could explain what he was already too overwhelmed to say.
“Bass? Guitar?” San asked, quirking his head to the side.
“Electric guitar.”
“Ah, cool! We have a lot of those, but listen, the more the merrier, okay? Make yourself at home.”
“Hah, thanks, I will.” He muttered quietly, dipping his head before looking for a blank space to wait. Not knowing anyone else, he busied himself with opening each latch on his case individually. He kept his head down, suddenly feeling very self conscious.
The door doesn’t have a bell, but it might as well, because when she walked in, his head snapped up. Magnetic, that’s a word to describe how she felt.
…And hell if he wasn’t magnetised.
Her outfit. What was there to say?
Instead of the mesh top he remembered, today, she’s wearing a dainty tank top with ribbon spaghetti straps. It’s got lace on the edges, and a big red cross in the center. She had layers upon layers of chains and spikes adorning her neck, and Hongjoong watched her Adam’s apple as she laughed at something San said. And if that wasn’t enough…
A leather miniskirt barely covered her thighs. It was paired with two studded belts, and her waist tapers down to fishnets and chunky boots with a huge wedge.
To Hongjoong, he felt he only paled in comparison. He looked down at his altered thrift finds: a jean maxi skirt cut up so that it looks more like pants from the side, a simple band shirt, and a shit ton of necklaces. The more layers, the cooler it looks. Everyone knows that. He’s got an arm sock on one side, but not both sides, because that’d just throw it all off. On his other wrist is a spiked bracelet, and hell, a few more layers. For good measure.
She looked like she woke up that way. Every day that he’d been able to cross her path she appears to have rolled out of bed with her perfectly mussed hair and her smudgy eyeliner. Her makeup always looks like it lasted a whole night of partying that Hongjoong feels like he missed out on.
He knows he’s staring. He knows his jaw is likely slackened like a fish, but he couldn’t focus; not when she was looking like that. This person he doesn’t know at all—not even by name—has turned him truly stupid.
She scanned the room after something San told her, and locked eyes with him. A wave of anxiety crashed into him, and he looked away as fast as he could. It’s too late, though, she was already chuckling, covering her mouth with one hand and waving with the other.
Eventually, it seemed the usual attendees arrived, because San decided it was time to start practice. He motioned for people to get into their spots, and Hongjoong stood awkwardly to the side, holding his guitar by the strap.
San noticed him, absently, and waved him over.
“Hongjoong, how about you stand here next to Hwa? You can share a stand.”
It’s her, San is suggesting he stand next to her. Suddenly, Hongjoong was feeling very self conscious, and he glanced down at his shitty ripped jeans.
Hwa looked down at him, smiling warmly, not wanting to overwhelm him.
”Hey, you’re new,” She said, thoughtfully. “I’m Seonghwa.”
”That’s a really cool name.” Hongjoong stuttered in awe. He paused, just watching her face. He should say something, right?
She laughed, eyebrows knitted together in confusion. “Thank you, but what’s your name?”
Maybe he should just die. This embarrassment is too much to bear, it’s time to pack up his guitar and head back to his dorm. Yep. It’s over.
”Hongjoong.”
”That’s a pretty cool name.” She offered in return. He wants to curl up and be buried alive. There is no way this girl doesn’t think he’s a complete loser.
She looked between him and the music stand and lowered it a bit, and his mouth twitched. This is simply too much. If they both weren't already aware of their height difference, they certainly were now. He swallowed.
—
Practice goes by in a flash. Seonghwa graciously allowed Hongjoong to carry the chords while she focused on the finger picking. It must have been obvious that he hadn’t played in a while, but he hoped she assumed it was just nerves.
(He had tried, futilely, to avoid how her fingers danced along the strings when she played). She has slim fingers, and her nails are a bit long for a guitarist, but she used them to finger the strings without a pick.
His stomach stirred with the effort it took to not imagine how it would feel to have those hands around his throat, his waist, anywhere at all.
He ran a hand through his hair, pulling a bit to get himself to focus. His face was feeling too warm.
With a sense of urgency, he turned to Seonghwa as she snapped the last lock on her case shut. She cocked her head at him, offering a small smile.
“You’re pretty good, kid. It’s nice to have you on board.”
Hongjoong doesn’t even care if she doesn’t remember his name at all. If she called him “kid” forever, he'd die happy.
“Thanks,” He beamed, though he tried to hide it. “I love to play, but it’s not my main thing.”
“Really?” She hummed sweetly, looking interested. At least, Hongjoong really hoped so. “What’s your major?”
“Art,” He offered simply, shrugging, lost in her eyes. “I like to draw and stuff.”
“That’s so sick,” She showed a bit of her teeth when she said it. “I wish I could draw.”
“Well, if you’re free, I’ve got a single and a tattoo gun.”
…Which has to be the least smooth thing he’s ever said, but due to some stroke of luck, some sort of blessing from the heavens, she said:
“Sounds metal.” And slung her guitar case, all locked up, over her shoulder.
Sounds metal. He thinks he’s going to die.
“Cool!” He resisted the urge to pump his fist in victory. “Have you eaten yet?”
“Nah.”
“Oh, alright, well I have snacks in my dorm if you need ‘em.”
“Thanks.” Her eyes softened.
—
He awkwardly punched in the keycode to his dorm, letting her walk in before him. She scoffed with a smile and stepped in. Before he could tell her it’s okay that she doesn't, she’s unzipping her boots and stepping down onto the floor. His eyes tracked the movement, enraptured by her skin. He shook his head and looked away.
“So where’s this tattoo gun I’ve heard so much about?” She joked, jumping onto his bed. His hand twitched by his side. He ignored it.
“Over here, let me just—” He goes to scour around in his armoire. While he’s there, he sees his stash of snacks and grabs a granola bar and some candy for her. “Here, some snacks for us to share.” He doesn’t really intend to eat any.
“Thanks, man.”
“Anytime! …So, what did you have in mind?” He started taking the machine out of its box, screwing a new needle on it and checking if the sanitary wipes have expired yet.
Score, they still work.
“I really want a lined star right here, like a pentacle, y’know?” She traced a manicured finger over the hollow of her collarbone. “And here, out from the center, I want it to look like the moon phases.”
“Sounds awesome.”
“Thanks.” She smiled with her teeth.
His eyelashes fluttered with the effort it took to not squeal.
He didn’t prep much, just wiped her clean with a sanitary wipe. He started sketching with a stencil marker he was gifted years prior. He drew a simple line to keep himself centered, and drew a few loose circles. Seonghwa watched every movement, an entertained smirk playing at her lips.
—
When he pulled away, the last line drawn, her skin was starting to redden with irritation and Hongjoong thought it looked beautiful. Not his work, per se, it could’ve been better, but his work on her skin. She rolled her neck to the side to stretch. He grabbed a spare alcohol wipe and washed away the excess ink and blood. She flinched, but grinned.
“Looks hot.” He said, before he could stop himself. Her smile in response was radiant.
“All thanks to you.” She bent her arm to glance down at what she could see.
“Nah.” He scoffed, waving it off. He got up to rummage under his bed for bandages, eventually finding those wide waterproof ones. It looked kind of like saniderm, so.
He doesn’t know why he insisted on bandaging it for her. When he’s done shitty tattoos for friends in the past, they just kind of sucked it up and left. Now, he’s sitting closer to her than he was before, delicately sealing a bandaid to her skin. When he pulled back slightly, she was close, like really close, and gave him a playful smirk.
Fuck it. He plunged into the metaphorical deep end.

Skyh Foreman-McGuire.
she/her.
TW : mention of drugs/smoking.
– Polish-American, adopted in Oregon.
– Cancer woman.
– Game developer.
• don’t even try to understand what is going on inside her head. Many have tried… they all failed and left very disturbed.
• her thought process is so unpredictable, it’s entertaining. You don’t even question it anymore, you just follow its groove.
• always has flawless eyeliner with the prettiest little details.
• doesn’t really care much about fashion; she just throws on whatever she finds most comfortable.
• wants to live in the woods, become a fairy and never interact with anybody ever again.
• when you met her, you genuinely thought she was on something – but no. You really couldn’t believe it when she said she doesn’t smoke/use drugs of any kind.
• though when you hang out with her, you feel like you’re under substances lmao. Skyh is a whole hazard–
• has a lot of ear piercings. You wonder how her ears haven’t fallen off yet tbh.
• put a pen or some paint brushes in her hands and she becomes someone else – it’s without a doubt the only moment you get to see her focused expression. She creates works of art like it’s natural to her, like she doesn’t even have to think; she just does.
• sometimes karter and her meet at his place just to sit in his room and draw or paint in silence for hours. That’s how they bond.
• strongly rejects her parents’ desires and ways. They don’t even try to argue with her anymore. They, just like everyone else, abandoned the idea of ever being able to grasp what she’s thinking about.
• though people seem to view her as an alien (you do too, kind of), she gets you like nobody else does and, for some reason, she feels like you get her too; like you somehow always find a way to see eye to eye with her.
• for this reason, you’re her alien. That’s how she calls you.
• you’re saved as ‘my little UFO´ in her phone–
• you’re her first love. Nobody really ever understood Skyh or even managed to grab her attention long enough before. You’re very special to her.
• frogs and bees and spiders are her besties.
• absolutely obsessed with bugs of all kinds.
• big fan on skinny dipping. Her favorite activity is undressing herself, undressing you, then jump into any icy lake she finds.
• likes to lie on the ground. in the snow, grass, cold parquet; pretty much anywhere.
• only gets talkative when you two are alone. She doesn’t like crowds and doesn’t bother to try to interact with people in general. She usually remains quiet when her siblings are around.
• has a very hard time trusting people (she has more faith in bugs than any human ), but she does trust the good hearts of her siblings and you, of course.
• into journaling. Whenever she gets the chance, she sits down and draws and writes about little things that she likes, new insects she discovered, random(like, very random) thoughts and cute stuff you did during the day. <3
• brutally honest. like. brutally.
• a human gremlin. that’s the best skyh description.
• addicted to tea. strongly believes that tea is a remedy for everything. Not once has it happened that you visited her house and she didn’t offer you some warm, relaxing, delicious tea.
• girl was born tired lmao.
• has a huge collection of buttons. They kind of look like eyes; she likes it. She won’t care about how cute or how well-made a shirt is…. but if it has some interesting-looking buttons, oh lord–
• could live her whole life only eating donuts.
• one thing to love about her is how open minded she is. Definitely not the type to judge or make faces at concepts or ideas she doesn’t know/doesn’t like. openness&understanding 🤝 skyh.
• loves when it’s raining. she insists to go outside and dance until the sky is dry again. (don’t worry about her getting sick, her system is as mysterious as her, she’ll be fine)
• changes her nail polish everyday. She loves to paint your nails – if you’re into that, of course.
• suuuuuper clumsy. You can’t trust her with a glass, she’ll break it. No matter how; she’ll find a way to break it.
• plays minecraft 24/7.
• started coding at 14 out for boredom, ended up creating games for a living and becoming one heck of a hacker. i mean- you didn’t see that. uh–
• « You ever think about what a playmobil would look like running ? Cause, like… they don’t have knees. How do they go in the movie, hold on–»
• yes, she did watch the movie to have an answer.
• very good at baking, she learned it by watching Oliver hurry happily in the kitchen when they used to live together.
• doesn’t drive, by choice. never even learned how to – she doesn’t see the appeal.
• « I’lllllll…. take the bus? that works just fine? »
• thinks about going mushroom hunting with you at least twice a day.
• goes limp in your arms when you braid her long, pale blue hair.
• pretends she doesn’t like when mickayla forces her to go thrift shopping together, but she’s living for the intriguing rings and necklaces she might find.
• stubborn as hell. and if she says no, then it’s no.
• unintentionally funny. accidental CLOWN.
• not jealous at all. like at ALL.
• « uh ? you’re going to a party ? yeah, cool. uh ? other people ? ok. me, worried ? what do you mean ? well, you’re my partner, aren’t you ? then we’re good. »
• love languages : (silent)quality time & physical touch. She’ll grab your hand to walk around the forest, hug you when you’re both resting under a tree, brush your hair out of your face when you’re not paying attention… and it’s always a shock when people see her be so fond and delicate with you. because she never gets near other people, EVER.
• heck, her siblings were mortified when she said she was dating someone. like. how did you even manage to– never mind. they’re all very happy for you two.
• basically in her own world and oh lucky you, she lets you in too.<3
• « I wonder what color is your soul… will you let me see ? »

Love her or hate her, Barbie is iconic. I have no clue why she was stereotyped as an airheaded bimbo, when canonically she has been a doctor, astronaut, scientist, etc. Like most girls, I have fond memories of playing dolls with friends, and not-so-fond memories of siblings, cousins, etc ruining my toys, cutting their hair, covering them with mud, tattooing them with sharpies, etc.
In girl scouts, I remember each troop had to represent a different country/culture for world tolerance day or some such. So our project was singing the Barbie song in German! I still kinda remember the lyrics. 🎼Ich bin ein Barbie frau, en einer Barbie velt...🎶
On a side note, I also remember our troop representing the UK one year, because I was obsessed with The Beatles and JRR Tolkien. Good times, good times. I was a weird, nerdy kid, and I haven't changed much over the years. This is kinda embarrassing, but I played with dolls well into middle school. What can I say, I loved making up stories in my own imaginary fantasy world. Still kind of do, as a writer.
I had a Pocahontas Barbie... Hip to be Square Barbie...Of course I had the mermaid that changed the color of her hair and tail, depending on if the water was hot or cold...I had a slumber party Barbie with a soft body like a stuffed animal, so you could snuggle in bed. She also came with accessories like an inflatable chair, a box of pizza, a houseplant, and a globe. Perfect for 90s sleepovers!
One Christmas, I was gifted a special edition millennium Barbie for the year 2000. I was too young to understand collectibles, all I knew was it was the prettiest doll I'd ever seen, with her fancy gold dress and matching Christmas ornaments, and couldn't wait to play with it, so I didn't understand why everyone was so shocked when I opened the box and did just that.
I had a few of the Mattel pets, including a fluffy white cat, and a fancy Collie dog. Of course I had the sparkly white unicorn/pegasus horse with wings AND a horn, and a long pretty mane and tail that you could brush, braid, and style. I had a ton of horses in general. Including My Little Pony. And lots of dolls, not just Barbie, but also Polly Pocket, random stuffed animals, etc. Another random sidenote... I remember I used to watch a lot of PBS as a kid... I was fascinated by The Nightly Business Report... So I had my own version, The Nightly Horse Report, and all the new anchors, journalists, and correspondents were horses... Facepalm. 🤦🏽♀️
But in high school, I was an edgy, angsty teenager. I rejected Barbie as a sexist symbol of rigid gender roles and corporate greed. One of my aquaintances had dismembered Barbie body parts dangling from her backpack, which I thought was pretty cool. I also took the Barbies from a classmate's diorama when they didn't want them anymore. I don't know what book they were reading in the other Senior AP Literature Class, but it must have been a dark one, because the Barbies were scantily clad in plain white robes/togas, their hands were bound, they were blindfolded, and they were hanging from nooses. Yeah. Yikes. Anyway I used them for home decor in my college dorm, and even in my first apartment. Like I said, I only seem to get even weirder and creepier with age!
Then again, when I was a bratty teenage girl, my idea of feminism was misguided. In retrospect, I actually embodied a lot of internalized misogyny and toxic femininity myself. Joining the GSA (Gay Straight Alliance), poetry club, yearbook, and other extracurricular activities helped me keep an open mind and learn better social skills. But still, one of my favorite computer games at that age, was called Feed the Model, where you crash a haute couture high society fashion catwalk, and you throw tomatoes and other food at the model, hoping some of it lands in her mouth and she'll finally eat something for once, lol. Yes it was hilarious, but also problematic. I also frequented several feminist websites, including About Face and Adios Barbie. Again, I meant well, but the misandry was a little bit hypocritical.
Just like the Barbie brand is taking affirmative action to be more inclusive, I also eventually outgrew my "Hear me roar" phase, and embraced a more modern, intersectional sort of feminism and gender equality. Including a shameless appreciation for girly hobbies, such as dolls. Even in college, a roommate gave me a special Bjork Barbie with a handmade dress, custom haircut, and face painted with nail polish. He customized it himself, and it looked awesome and unique! Again, that Bjork Barbie remained dorm/apartment decor well into my mid twenties.
Now I'm in my 30s. I work at an antique store, and I do sell expensive vintage collectible Barbies to wealthy connoisseurs, as well as the cheap ones to little kids who only have a few bucks of allowance to buy used toys from secondhand thrift stores. So Barbie is still very much a part of my life on a daily basis. Grown adults pay hundreds of dollars for the right doll. I've had deep conversations with coworkers and customers about the magic of imagination, the nostalgic sense of wonder, and the simplicity yet complexity of children at play.
So I'm totally going to see that freaking Barbie movie, damn it! Who's coming with me?

To us, December shopping served two very distinct purposes: to track down the perfect last-minute gifts for the hard-to-shop-for people in our lives, and to navigate all the year-end sales worth splurging on for ourselves. And, while we’re not big on making new year’s resolutions, our carts were loaded with products that promise to not just start 2025 on the right note, but also make the gloomy winter months ahead a little brighter. Based on the anonymous shopping data from our Most Wanted stories, our readers proved that great minds do think alike. Topping the leaderboard of bestsellers were fashion and beauty staples to ward off dropping temperatures and humidity, alongside thoughtful gifts that definitely earned some major compliments (and will not be collecting dust in your giftee’s storage cabinet). Ahead, we’re rounding up the most popular products, according to our stylish and savvy readers, from this whirlwind of a month. The best part? Some of these December must-haves are on sale. All linked products are independently selected by our editors. If you purchase any of these products, we may earn a commission. truly,, i will never ever get over the disappointment of being transgender. i have no regrets in transitioning,, and truly i believe i never will. i am being true to the knots that make up my body and for that i will always love myself. i feel good in my body. i do not feel like i am destroying myself or pretending to be someone i'm not. but i will do the same as my family and mourn the loss of a daughter.
i never was a very pretty girl. "you look so much better as a boy anyways" i get what you're trying to say but truly it reinforces the thiught that i was never really liked as a kid. i was the ugly duckling. even now, had i not transitioned, at most i'd be an average girl. below average even. my feautures were always masculinized and though I appreciate it now, it wasn't what i needed to hear as a girl trying to navigate her life.
there are some days where i 'mourn' the loss of my girlhood. it's a normal occurence. girlhood. i missed out on so much. i will continue to miss out. i won't get to wear the puffy skirts i've always liked. i won't get to wear acrylic nails and eyelashes and crop tops or cute outfits. "clothing/presentation has nothing to do with gender" very true statement. however it's the fact that i won't be the girl i want to be. i will be a guy in a dress. i will be a guy wearing eyelashes and acrylic nails and totally baddie outfits. but never a pretty girl.
sometimes when i go shopping for clothing secondhand , or at liquidation store, or even in the clearance isles of stores, i look for clothing i like in the women's section. not because i am a woman but because I love fashion. because i also see the girl version if myself wearing it. so i collect clothing that i may only wear in the comfort of my home because i have to fulfill the dream of femininity that i once had. i'm okay with that.
I don't mind that i will be a guy in a dress. What I care about is the fact that I will never experience these things as a girl. Sleepovers with my girlfriends, shopping for makeup, thrifting stuff that I could wear and not feel ashamed about. i could be the prettiest girl ever. but i will never be. and that's okay.

Why Women Love Bangles: Unraveling the Charm
Also Read : Buy Imitation Bangles Online: Prettiest Trends For All Times
Bangles have been a staple in women’s fashion for centuries. Their timeless appeal and versatile style make them a beloved accessory in every woman’s jewelry collection. But what is it about bangles that makes them so enchanting? Let’s explore the charm of these elegant pieces and why they continue to captivate hearts.
The Allure of Bangles
Bangles come in countless designs, materials, and styles, making them a perfect match for any outfit or occasion. Whether it’s a casual day out or a grand celebration, there’s a bangle for every moment. The variety in designs — from simple and sleek to ornate and embellished — means you can find something that reflects your unique style.
One of the reasons women love bangles is their ability to add a touch of sophistication and flair to any look. Imagine pairing a set of delicate bangles with your favorite dress or layering bold, chunky bangles for a more dramatic effect. The options are endless!
Easy Elegance
Another reason for the enduring popularity of bangles is their ease of wear. Unlike some other jewelry pieces that can be fussy or require adjustment, bangles simply slip on and off. This convenience makes them an ideal accessory for everyday wear.
And let’s not forget how bangles can be a great way to express personal style. Whether you’re opting for a minimalist design or something with intricate detailing, bangles allow you to showcase your personality and taste.
