So, um...I have made another countdown blog. Whoops?

Anyway, I made one for Creativitwins because they haunt me (/lh). I already run the Intruality one, but I mean...I'm not called the CEO of Creativitwins Fluff for nothing!

(I don't wanna just promo all over ya, but if ya want the blog, I can send the name :3 )

ANYWAY: some headcanons with Dukexiety (and also Roman, I guess).

Remus doesn't care who knows about their relationship, but Virgil's still a little hesitant about telling people, so he respects that

Remus will flirt with Virgil openly. Virgil is okay with this. The Others are like "in front of my salad?" (except maybe Janus, he's too used to Remus to care)

Roman especially notices how Remus seems to only flirt with Virgil, which has his Romance senses tingling

Sometimes Virgil flirts back. This flusters the Duke with glee every time it happens.

Snuggle buddies! Especially is Virgil is recovering from/dealing with a bad spiral or Remus' thoughts are getting too loud or if either of them is upset about something

Remus is a hoodie-stealing gremlin. Virgil knows this, and has a spare hoodie just for Dukey to steal.

Mr. Fuzzy will purr because it's a sentient creature-plushie-thing. Virgil found this out one time when Remus was over in his room and they were cuddling. Mr. Fuzzy was nearby on the bed and purred at seeing them relaxing for once. It jumpscared Virgil.

When Roman figures out "oh shit, my brother and my bestie are dating, proably", he decides to ask Remus about It (he doesn't wanna freak Virgil out). Remus is like "ha, what?" just as Virgil comes into the room and hears what's going on. Virge is kinda suspicious of how Roman figured it out before he's like "I'm literally Romance, what-" and then yeah. Virgil and Remus tell him they're dating and Roman's supportive. His first response is along the lines of "okay, but like, why my brother?" (lmao)

Roman now knows about Dukexiety. The Others still don't. He uses this to his teasing advantage without giving things away. Virgil wants to throttle him (/aff).

Eventually, Virgil's okay with everyone knowing and so they tell the Others. Janus is mostly unfazed. Patton is a little confused but also gushy. Logan's like "...was that not common knowledge??". Apparently, he also figured it out. He and Roman bond over the fact that they figured it out before everyone else. More teasing ensues.

(c!Thomas) Thomas has no clue. No fucking idea. The twins will use this to their advantage of vaguely joking about it. Virgil now wants to throttle both of them (/aff).

Roman sees how happy his brother is with Virgil, and sometimes will get a little sentimental over seeing Remus happy. Remus doesn't get to be happy a lot of the time, so it's nice to finally see him just get to be happy.

Thomas once summons Dukexiety in the middle of kissing each other and that's how he finds out. He just stares for a solid five minutes like "wait, what?" (Remus finds this funny. Virgil makes sure they didn't break Thomas.)

3- Four is an Inkling- only notable thing is shes from a region of the world that used to be Scotland so she's actually ever so slightly more resilient to water (Same for Three but this aint about him rn) 9- She was Orange as a kid but personally outside of agent duty she tends to go with Pink (like the promo S2 squid) 15- For hero stuff is just the Hero Shot, but turf wise its the Toni Kensa Splattershot- She likes the black/white colours and it comes with her favourite special 16- Inklish and a small bit of Octarian 20- Four is 5'7 in walk form which is just above average height wise, in swim form however shes actually much smaller than she should be 29- Four doesn't really cry much- if like ever, Three has cried more in front of the other Agents than her lets put it that way. The only things that would make her cry is losing her loved ones.

1- Growing up her family had a pet sea bunny but currently she wouldn't want any pets, she doesn't have time for them. 10- It wouldn't take a lot, Four can hype herself up fast 11- She's okay- she lands well enough to not fall over at least 15- Headphones 28- Plushies and screentime

Tier 2

10- Four doesn't really go into her swim form much, she's a little self conscious about how small she it 12- She normally just- passes out on her bed for about 2-4 hours then gets up again 17- No, technically Four is not in a relationship despite the weird thing she has going on with Kay. To Four she isn't bothered if they become a thing or not she's kinda just happy being around him. 18- She hasn't had any. 27- Four actually has a tattoo on her arm that she hasn't shown anyone yet (and not because I still yet to decide what it is-)

Tier 3

18- Four is happy as an Inkling but if she could be anything else she's pick Pidgeon because they're her favourite bird

Tier 4

9- Ink wise? No. But due to greyscaling any intense emotions can cause her eyes to start going a bit grey 21- Four is Asexual so physical attraction isn't something she experiences but personality-wise she likes those who are goofy and funny but also quite smart 24- Four only really acknowledges any sickness in her when it absolutely floors her (ie she's sick a lot but ignores it)

Tier 5

2- Four is afraid of losing those she loves- either by them dying or them just- abandoning her, the latter scaring her much much more

Tier 6

6- Four loves the rain- she can't stand out in it too long but she loves every moment she can. She really hates hot sunny days- she doesn't like sweating at all 11- She doesn't really care? Four does on the rare occasion drink but it's nothing more than the occasional like fun party with friends kinda thing, nothing more 30- Is Four a good person? Yes. In her opinion? She would say yes but deep down some part wants to say no

Seren's Studies: The Odd Squad UK Promo

Now, before reading this, I need everyone to give a middle finger to Firefox for repeatedly flashbanging me throughout this entire followup whenever I went to take a screenshot. This has never happened before. I don't know why it's happening. I do know that I am inches away from throwing that inflamed vixen in the trash and moving to SlimBrowser instead.

Okay, so now that you've done that, let's discuss this 30-second promo that someone on Discord was very polite enough to dredge up. (Since there's a lot of...sensitive stuff that happens in that server -- in an "inner workings of a television network" kind of way -- I will refrain from naming names. If you see this, you know who you are, and thank you.)

At the time of this writing, there are no teaser images, nor have all the expansive synopses been released yet. It'll take a while for TVO to get through all of them, BBC doesn't have any expansive synopses, and my other sources are...dead in the water.

I don't think I need to say this, but I'll say it anyway: there are spoilers abound in this. If you haven't seen the promo yet, it's best if you view it here before proceeding with this followup.

Let's dive in below the break!

The only reason I'm putting this here is because the plehn started in Arlington and it's goin' to the United Kingdom and to Britain.

Because PBS's Headquarters is in Arlington.

MOUNT VIRGINIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Am I fuckin' trippin' on some shit or are we inside Big Ben? Because I mean the clock to the left there is confusing my pea brain. And if we are in Big Ben, some agent is going to go clear through these doors and wind up doing the Peter Griffin death pose but...y'know...they're dead. So.

On another note, I see we're ditching Apple computers and going straight for Microsoft. I know what iMacs look like. I have Google. Those are not iMacs. Sorry, Cook, but you're not cookin' in the UK.

We can also see the breakroom that was spotted in the gadget competition briefing video, which...kinda makes all my cracks about the shitty editing age poorly. (The video editing, mind. Not the audio editing. Those cracks stay. There is no excuse.)

So there's a lot to take in here -- and I mean it's a disgusting amount; I have to go frame-by-fucking-frame -- but let's focus on Captain O and Ozzie specifically. We have Captain O holding a letter of some kind, while Ozzie himself is still in his Department of Help uniform. The letter could be something along the lines of "congrats, you're hired", but who's to say. Hard to tell from a simple zoom-in and an "attention, everyone!"

Me, I just wanna know what the knitting needles on Captain O's jacket are for. Watch it not be answered in 12 episodes and then I'll be staying up Googling when I have a car to drive and cry in.

People in the Odd Squad Discord server are, by general consensus, not happy with this British-fied Odd Squad logo. And really, I don't blame them. This is pure "graphic design is my passion and I get paid for it handsomely, motherfucker".

Look, I liked it better when it looked like a sun. The sun, at least, is symbolic from a certain standpoint. This is just making it British because we're in Britain, and it's not funny.

Pure excitement written all over that girl's face, right there. He's gonna be the poor schmuck just being dragged around everywhere in town.

Kind of like the guy who was my "boyfriend" in high school and then literally dragged me through the halls showing me off like he got the most valuable plushie in the world. (Yes, that actually happened. Yes, the quotation marks are intentional. No, you don't want me to elaborate, trust me.)

Only the guy is a tourist, I'm the poor schmuck who has to help the tourist, and the guy probably can't drag me because I outclass him by about a hundred pounds.

It took them ten years, but we finally have magic effects for when agents combine gadgets.

Oscar is shedding a tear of joy somewhere. He's never been able to make that happen, but a tourist and a Brit somehow made it work, and he's so proud of them.

I could've sworn I've seen this structure as a filming location, but I can't for the life of me figure out whether it was in the Season 3 days or if it was last year. My memory's trying to make me think the former.

Taken out of context, though, this is a monster that sees Orli and whom I have to assume is either Onom or Orwell as two fresh-blooded meals. Which ups the danger ante of the entire franchise considerably, because there is a line between "I'm going to hurt you" and "I am going to kill you".

This octopus...thing is just...more direct about the latter.

In the medical industry, that would be classified as a brain disorder.

...In the real world.

Here in the Oddverse, you can have electricity shooting out of your head and it's as much of a minor inconvenience as an item being out of stock at the store.

(Also, someone mentioned that this guy sounds like TomSka, and...I mean, I'm inclined to agree. Not exact, but it's pretty close.)

This is William Ocean's brother, who finally emerged out of the depths of Monty Python. Good for him!

I'm sorry, I just noticed this...but they have a steel rotating door?

Like...like a captain's ship...like it's...

And it's automatic...

I'm sorry, but I'm just so damn used to seeing metal doors that seeing one in a completely different color, material, and shape is sending me for a whirlwind. Holy cheesin' Jesus.

"I wanna be a cooowgiiiirl, baby!"

"Heeeell yeah!"

"I wanna be a coooowgiiiiiirl, baaaaabyyyyy!"

(Or, alternatively, Smoothest Bitch in the East.)

And finally, we get to my favorite part: the gay triangle villain. Gay villains, if you want to count the one on the left, but since they don't speak, it's hard to tell where they fall on the LGBTQ+ spectrum.

I could make an entire Seren's Study on Odd Squad and LGBTQ+ representation, and I probably will one of these days, but I need you guys to understand something for a moment.

So in the aforementioned Discord server, there was talk of an episode of Season 1 of Alma's Way called "Say I Guess to the Dress". It involved Alma struggling to figure out what dress to wear to a party she's attending. It was meant to air in January of last year, but got mysteriously pulled and replaced with a different episode, and hasn't aired in the US since.

You might think this is not normal fare. You'd be right.

But in one scene of the episode, Lucas, one of Alma's friends, models a dress that -- and I am going off of the Wiki here -- was worn by Julia, his late cousin. Only for one scene. Only for a bit. Nothing more, nothing less.

This led to speculation that the episode got banned, hence why it hasn't aired yet. In Australia, it aired fine. However, we are on Season 2 of the show, and all we've gotten is pure crickets. We don't know for sure what happened, but with PBS, it's a minefield -- since they get a lot of money from donors, adding in an LGBTQ+ major character would sap up a good financial origin because people would be too pissed off to donate. So they relegate it to tiny sprinkles.

I'm not sure what the BBC's rules are on LGBTQ+ people in kids media. They could be strict, they could be lax, who knows. I still need to do some research on that. But for how much PBS is trying to make Gay Triangle Villain straight...he's not. He's really not.

Because let's be honest here: they're called the Triangle Sisters. That already says enough on its own.

Oof...didn't wanna make this super long-winded. But I'll discuss this at length later in another Seren's Study, once the episode airs.

I really might as well come out and really say it: I'm really not really a fan of the "really" gag. For a really short episode spanning really 11 minutes long, they really don't have time really for something of really this long and really painful.

Cute. Real cute. Fuck you. But real cute.

And also, fuck PBS Kids execs for only putting out promos of new episodes of shows the day of. Remember when they used to put out promos earlier than that? Pepperidge Farm remembers, and for how much my memory sucks ass, so do I. Those were the golden days. Now we get stuff like these, because not a day goes by where they're stuck under the feet of Netflix and Hulu. Big competitors. Target and Walmart kind of rivalry.

Overall, not a lot of beef to this promo. I wasn't expecting anything mindblowing like, say, the trailer for the first movie (and that was epic in its own right), but it's pretty standard as far as PBS Kids promos go. I'm fairly positive CBBC will put out something far better that pulls in viewers, though I can't attest to how great their promos are because the last I saw one was...whoof, a long time ago.

But hey, look at it this way: Odd Squad UK and Pokemon Horizons will air on the same network, which means I can be an insufferable "Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon is my life" bitch all I want.

As for the contents of the promo itself...aside from gay triangle villain, there wasn't really any spark that caught my eye. Nothing to make my jaw drop or make me go "wowee kazoo". At this point, I'm watching for two reasons: curiosity, and to give them another chance at making a franchise going stale a lot better. And also the fanfic ideas. Lots of fanfic ideas.

I doubt I'll put out another Seren's Study before this one (my PBS Kids one isn't done yet), so the next one will come sometime after the first batch of episodes releases and will be an episode followup for "Odd Ones In". Once that's done, I'll work on followups for the other episodes.

So, YouTube doesn't send me notifications for Crushers channel even though I'm subscribed and have notifications set to "All" so I missed this post 3 months ago during the plushie promo.

It's not relevant anymore, but I'm posting it now anyways for both the sake of completeness and also because it's a funny brainrot video (if only for sheer unexpectedness in doing so), and the best promotions are the funny ones. Also I'm desperate for content. I neglect this blog enough as is, so between that and Crusher's similar tendencies that cause the aforementioned content drought (there's no issue with that and I'd be a hypocrite if I said there was, it just means there's usually little in the way of news) I might as well at least ensure official stuff that is also both recent and specifically ECHO related ends up here, even if I'm 3 months late.

uh uh for the character ask game, Pearl from splatoon! With the questions 2, 12, and 23!

okay yay uhh.. 2. favorite canon thing.. probably her personality and style honestly, I know she wasn't really popular when splatoon 2 came out but I've always kinda liked her and especially her style in the art books and splatfest art.. i'll probably go find some while looking for question 23 lol 12. I usually have a hard time coming up with headcanons but the translation error resulting in all the he/him idol memes is kinda funny to me, i never turn down a good trans headcanon lol, gotta project onto my favorite characters <3 so i guess if anything I'd probably see her as genderfluid or bigender or something like that, (not sure which label would fit best) which honestly kinda fits with some of her official art outfits tbh.. 23. ok time to go search.

ok i have finished searching. there's probably way more cool art of her I'm not considering but I was looking for like an hour already so.. from what I found I picked some of my favorites <3

i think this is one of my favorites probably just because of the upper half of the outfit and the pose (ik this was supposed to be some nike promo but I couldn't care less about that, I'm not a brand person and I usually only wear sneakers if I'm gonna be walking a while so my feet don't hurt lol.) But I might also have a bias because I liked redrawing some of the splatoon official art when I was younger and I really liked the way that drawing turned out. It was back when I did traditional art so I'm too lazy to go find it but, it was a fun way to practice and figure out my art style and stuff, I've definitely been inspired a bit by the official artstyle. Unfortunately Marina doesn't look the best in a lot of the official art mostly because lot of people have pointed out whitewashing which sucks :( but I can't be too surprised considering one of the official or brand liscenced plushies was so heavily whitewashed I'd have thought Marina was white if I didn't know anything about splatoon and saw that plushie lmao.. anyway i found more art i liked so i'm putting it here too

I like her more casual style in the majority of official art and I'm definitely biased considering I also wear really baggy t shirts and hoodies lol. with the mention of gender earlier ofc she can still be feminine and obviously clothes aren't inherently gendered and all but. I dunno I've always appreciated these outfits as more androgynous to me even before I realized I wasn't cis lol. whatever gender people hc pearl as we can all agree these outfits slay <3 it's very gender to me in a way I can't explain

☆ the only reason you two got closer was because you were put in a love angle. you were the couple that broke everything and everyone. every time you had a match together, the ring would be left in shambles, bits of broken tables, announcers desk would be absolutely gone and steel chairs are thrown everywhere.

☆ you two were also unironically hilarious, your funniest segments were the ones were those that were unintentionally funny. the fans absolutely adored you.

☆ you two began hanging out outside work often, doing to diners, watching crappy movies, you were surprised by how much you had in common, even though he already knew everything he could about you, it endeared him to you a lot.

☆ you first date was at a fun fair, he wanted to go on every single ride with. each last one, he bought you almost every type of food and/or drink that was being sold and tried to win every single plushy he could from those dart throwing games.

☆ at the end of the night, you both got on the ferris wheel, where he asked you to be his. and you obviously couldn’t say anything but yes to him. your little, crazy yet adorable boyfriend.

☆ he’d follow you everywhere like a lost puppy, almost always holding your hands, or wrapping his arms around your shoulders. he was quite shy around you which you found adorable.

☆ he always kept an eye on you, you had quite a lot of fans who would do anything for you to give them your attention. but you were his, and it didn’t matter to him how much another person wanted you. you weren’t going anywhere away from him.

☆ is absolutely obsessed with kissing you, your lips, forehead, cheeks, hands, anywhere and everywhere on you must me kissed.

☆ would rather die than go anywhere without you. the supermarket? yes. a pharmacy? wait for him, that sketchy corner shop that sells your favourite ice cream? hold on, he’s putting his shoes on.

☆ wants you to choke him.

☆ spoils you so much it gets ridiculous some times.

☆ lives for you playing with his hair, so just taking care of it in general, washing it, brushing it, giving him trims. he loved.

☆ LOVES when you do the ‘sitting in the corner on the ring’ promos together.

☆ really clingy, wants hugs and cuddles 24/7

☆ loves it when you sit on his lap

☆ huge on physical touch and words of affirmation, he’s constantly telling you that he loves you and that he’ll absolutely do anything for you. just little words of encouragement too.

☆ physically and mentally lags every time he sees you tied down beneath him, especially in that crucifix position (if you catch my drift)

☆ leaves hickeys and love bites all over you body, loves letting everyone know that they can look but never touch, because he’s unhinged and he will shank them.

You never meant to steal the attention, gifting him a farmer hat as an apology.

He's just like "?????" though he appreciates the gift and starts being nicer to you.

You've taken up the habit of calling him "Mr. B" out of respect.

Banny

New friend?? New friend!

She's curious about the restaurant you came from and will ask you about it whenever she's not performing.

Sadly you're only at Bon's Burgers as promo material so when you do have to return to your restaurant she might cry a little.

But to cheer her up, you'll give her a glittery bow. Just a simple parting gift.

Boozoo

Finally another humanoid animatronic like him.

You'll often perform gigs with him, such as popping out of your box and "magically" manifesting gifts for him and the kids in the audience.

After one show you gift Boozoo something and he says "but [y/n] it's not showtime ye-"

Though when he sees it's for him personally and not an act, he's pretty humble. You got him a plush white rabbit for his next trick.

Sha

She saw you gifting children stuff and she walks up to you, wondering if you had anything that'll make her "more beautiful".

While you insist she's already beautiful enough, you present a sparkly new collar and a bow for her hair.

But you're acutely aware that the soul trapped in her has a desperation to be more beautiful, craving your validation. So you try to appease both her and Sha.

Billy

You didn't really talk to him much, but he seemed like a funny guy.

You gifted him some circus-themed stuff like a fake flower for the water prank, juggling balls, etc. Just so he's not always singing for kids and can actually perform some acts.

He climbed the popularity ladder quick and appreciates you helping him (even if he can't say it himself).

Sophie

Ngl she thought you were creepy when she was younger, which is understandable.

One day you coax her over to you, sensing her unease and sadness at the party. And you gift her a small white and blue bear plushie.

"It's my good pal Showbear." You tell her. "If you're ever lonely..he'll always be with you. Remember that."

Who knew that old doll would have such an impact on her life later on?

• Putting this aside, dating Jisoo is really fun!

• She loves to make you laugh, and she succeeds quite easily.

• Even when her jokes aren’t that funny, she finds a way to make it funny.

• She knows a lot of dad jokes and you had to hear them all.

0:05 - nice try Phil but I think literally everyone could have predicted that wasn’t going to happen...which is so funny because Phil seems to be so careful with money in big ways at least

0:14 - “I’ve already filled all of these drawers...” well that is really clear that that room is a “set”/he’s not keeping clothes in there (obviously in hindsight, but loud at the time)

0:30 - yeah that face just reads “scary”

0:48 - love that he just gave up on that, lol

1:00 - that seems disgusting...especially because it’s partially orange-flavored? eww

This is just a cute Phil video. Also, it’s the last solo Phil video of 2017; all the rest are joint. Which I guess makes sense from a promoting-the-tour perspective.

i genuinely don’t know what happened and i think it’s because the combo of the plushy promo art + the Ain Soph Aur Hologram concert reprogrammed my brain to two years ago, but anyway jokes about wmtsb under the cut and obviously spoilers about it (also one of them is slightly n///sfw)

ok first what’s been on my mind all day is, on the tone of this textpost:

Belial: But yknow the sad thing about me is that i still had to watch my twin die. It was very brutal.

Sandalphon: and who do you think is responsible for that you dumb slut

in my dream scenario where Lucifer is brought back to life somehow and then ends up being the one insisting on redeeming Belial because he feels like he failed him and he wants to have him bloom in a more loving environment the same way he did for Sandalphon, which drives Sandalphon completely mad but he can’t say no to Lucifer’s puppyeyes, so Sandalphon does the minimum of effort to not blow up at Belial’s face, all while Belial is clearly always trying to start a fight with him and anyway,

Belial: i don’t see why you’re so mad with me Sanchan. It’s all thanks to me that you got a head from my brother :D

and next we know an explosion happens on the Cypher so hard that both of them have to be lectured by Noa out of all people.

(** also disclaimer that Belial and Lucifer are not exactly brothers/twins since Primals are not really made to see each other as family except for the ones that are meant to be one core together (see: esp the Messenger angels like Halluel&Malluel and Iz&Az, or for primals like Morrigna who share one core as triplets, but don’t apply to all of the duo-primals re, see, Zephyrus who are lovers), however i find their relationship infinitely more tragic and funnier if we picture them as siblings (as they were the two first primals and were created together with purpose to complement each others) and my headcanons about them will revolve around that because i think it’s funny, have a nice day)

My head has been buzzing all day with stuff like that send help.
