I wish I could go back to how I felt about perpetrators as a kid when I got into True crime. Researching them at 9 was much different, as it all felt so distant- it was ‘adult problems’ that were interesting for me to research from the outside looking in. Now that I am an older teen myself, the feelings of deep depression/mental illness are so familiar that researching these teens/young adults who’ve done these things makes me feel a way hard to describe, it really breaks my heart. I have much higher sympathy and understanding now, that I was unable to have before. they were so young. anyone can be sick, it isn’t a distant thing that only happens to ‘others’ , and I know that well now by living to the ages of multiple of these people and struggling with similar problem. It’s so fucking sad man.
