au of this where dandelion and holden band together to raise their kids
thinking of a theoretical timeline in which dandelion does wind up having a kid with alistair, most likely only finding out near to or post-adamant, and going ‘oh nooo’
#can you imagine what this would do to mila's confidence. being able to tell ppl that your mother (one of them?) is the hero of ferelden#the person who ended the 5th blight.#idk how old she is. eight maybe? that would make her younger than the aliwarden baby#would dandelion and holden be Together? idk. a qpr maybe#he already seems to be in an untouchable position in the wardens. the hof's friendship on top of that? nothing happens to him ever

The IGN article came out detailing the three choices that you can import and I have an opinion and I’m not trying to fight, this is my opinion and my opinion only and if you want to have a gentle and respectful discussion that’s fine. But if my feelings or tone get policed I’m gonna block you because I’m an adult and I’ll say what I want to say in my blog.
Three choices is a cheap cop out to force the Solevallan narrative and create a narrative around Solas that he’s some sad poor defenseless boy just doing his best.
It is in fact a spit in the face of returning players, especially those of us that have been around since Origins.
But what I am most upset about, besides the sadboi!Solas narrative they’re pushing, is that only these three choices mattering in a game that is as close to a direct sequel as this franchise has had is really shitty writing.
It’s weak narrative structure to think that decisions made in Inquisition have zero world impact just because you’re slightly more north on the continent.
Especially considering the Inquisitor is IN THIS GAME.
The Divine matters, therefore Cassandra, Leliana, and Vivienne’s stories matter
Bull could be dead, which makes if the Inquisition siding with the Qun matter.
Blackwell can be dead and or a Warden, which considering we’re going to Weisshaupt matters.
If the Warden is alive (the person credited with like the single handed ending/prevention of the 5th Blight) matters when we’re going to be interacting with Wardens.
Morrigan having a demon baby matters
Who rules Orlais (considering Brialla can be the true power) matters
If the Inquisition sides with Mages or Templars matters.
The Well of Sorrows matters because someone has the Flemthyal soul/magic
Who you left in the Fade matters (at least to Varric even if not all of Thedas)
But I think, most of all, this soft reboot of the franchise is a very odd and ultimately poor decision considering they’re making it as close to a direct sequel as possible. This is not the game to start over with and considering they’ve already fired a majority of the DA devs and writers, I wouldn’t be surprised if this kills the franchise.
I really hope I’m wrong. I am still going to play but almost all of my excitement is gone, not least of all because the Solavellan fans I’ve interacted with have been NASTY about it. (Not all solas fans but a vast majority that I’ve seen)
#these aren’t even all the decisions that would have impact but I was running out of room#they’re bringing back Inquisitor#And Morrigan#and Varric#but none of their varying backgrounds matter?#it is genuinely bad writing#and does not inspire faith in this game being good#I really hope I’m wrong#but I don’t think I am#dragon age veilguard spoilers#datv spoilers#anti solas#bioware critical

BB!Firestar
[ID: Firestar from Warrior Cats with his tail on fire. The text reads, "Ssoen kafyar-ul ulnyams ssarshefpa," which is "Fire Alone will save the Clans" in Clanmew]
The man, the myth, the legend. Bringer of change, righter of ancient wrongs, ancestral patron of fire and of breaking bad habits.
Clanmew Name: Kafyarbabi, Kafyarshai [Wildfire + Heartbeating = Behaves like a wildfire.]
Alignment: ThunderClan
Relationships: Mates (platonic) - Sandstorm, Onestar (ex) Family - Squirrelflight, Leafpool, Cloudtail (nephew), Princess, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Hollyleaf Mentors - Bluestar, Spottedleaf, Yellowfang Friends - EVERYONE. Graystripe, Deerfoot, Iceheart (Scourge), Brokenstar (post-death), Longtail, Cinderpelt
Chelford cats do not track paternity. It's not known who Firestar's father is, and it's probably not Jake anyway.
Firestar is aromantic. He is platonic co-parents with Sandstorm. He did not realize he was aromatic when he was seeing Onewhisker.
Other Clans consider him nosy. He's always trying to help out others, even when their sense of pride makes them hesitate to accept it.
Incorrigible. If he thinks he's right, you can't stop him. He also thinks it's important to make sure his Clan is well cared-for and doesn't give in to fear.
His personality is very passionate and outgoing.
Bonefall TPB:
To begin with, Rusty had to learn a new language to join the Clans. Clanmew and Townmew are sister languages but there was still a learning curve.
Spottedleaf was a big sister figure to him, she taught him how to connect with StarClan, what the rules are, and how to break them.
Bluestar left a deep impact on him as his mentor, she was the inventor of the mercy and grace which comes to define Fire Alone.
Like canon, he opposes Tigerclaw at every step once he realizes the cruelty within him.
Unlike canon, Better Bones is about having a strong anti-authoritarian stance, and to do that there's even MORE allies that Firestar connects with.
Oakfur, Stumptail, and Deerfoot in ShadowClan, and Mosspelt and Dawnflower in RiverClan are all cats who work directly with Fireheart, and were at times his Aftergathering buddies.
The end of Bonefall TPB is the battle with BloodClan, where he spares Scourge by defeating him honorably, ripping his collar off and forcing him to call a retreat.
The thesis of the arc is that Fire Alone can save the Clans because it's a radical change to the xenophobic, authoritarian culture of the Forest Four.
He lost a life in the process, from a huge slash across his chest and shoulder. It's meant to look like a mayoral sash, of sorts. His first deputy was Whitestorm, and after his death, his second was Longtail.
After the battle, he went a step further by bringing the collar back to Scourge as a gift of goodwill. He offered to uphold whatever he could of Tigerstar's Impossible Deal, and was shocked at the simple solution. BloodClan simply wanted things they couldn't get in Chelford; timber, glue, flowers, new types of foods they'd never tasted before.
Together, they forged a trade route that promised a bright future. During the destruction of the forest, Scourge eventually decided to lend his strength to the Clans for their Journey, eventually deciding to retire with them.
Scourge was eventually given the name Iceheart, so that he may live out his days with them in quiet peace.
Firestar's Quietus:
Brokenstar is the guardian spirit of the 5th tree of Fourtrees, which blighted and died after SkyClan's exile
His spirit cannot rest until SkyClan is safe. Firestar gets freakish dreams, Runningnose contacts him, and brings him to the Moonstone to figure this out.
It's there that he learns about Brokenstar trying to break into StarClan to make them do something. On learning that they just let an entire Clan get exiled, Firestar tells them to shove it and agrees to help.
Runningnose gives him a very emotional and significant acorn necklace which channels Brokenstar-- this item becomes important many arcs later.
Broken and Fire go back and forth a lot on what SkyClan should look like, what it needs, and how they should rebuild. The lesson learned is that SkyClan needed help, but can handle its own destiny.
Leafstar and the Warriors of SkyClan are not a Clan like the Forest Four. They will do things their own way, and that is a beautiful thing.
Brokenstar's final action is possessing Firestar's body (establishing the rules of possession for TBC later) to eradicate the rats; which were the earthbound, tormented souls of SkyClan's ancestors.
That's how Brokenstar and Firestar become the saviors of SkyClan
Bonefall Po3, Cruel Season, and Bonefall OotS:
In the episodic revamp of Po3, Firestar is aiding the other Clans through their struggles with the new environment, and helping to raise his grandchildren to be honorable cats.
So, his role is essentially as both the Clan's leader, and as Grandpaw Firestar.
His deputy is Brackenfur, who was promoted after Firestar and Brambleclaw agree that he isn't ready for deputyship yet after his lapse of judgement with Hawkfrost.
Brackenfur is killed towards the end of Po3 in the Battle of the False Eclipse, a trick from Sol, God of Chaos, a preview of the night that is to come where the dead can walk the earth.
Brambleclaw succeeds him.
The Fire Scene is in the in-between book between Po3 and OotS; Cruel Season.
It was started by Whiskernose of WindClan, aided and abetted by Thornclaw and Breezepelt, as an intentional distraction so they could get Firestar alone to kill him on the Dark Forest's orders.
He has one last big scene after his death; coming down from Silverpelt when Jayfeather summons StarClan warriors to fight the Dark Forest.
After winning a rematch with Scourge, Tigerstar finally gets the battle he's always wanted, and Firestar deals with him once and for all.
His Legacy:
He becomes known as the Patron of Fire and Breaking Bad Habits. He's invoked frequently during wet days when it's hard to start a cooking fire.
Firekin are renowned as a family of heroes, something that can cause a lot of pressure for its youngest members.
Fire Alone and Traditionalism are the competing ideologies by the modern era, with support of Thistle Law being kept very quiet.

(vibrating even faster) next question: any thoughts about what lea surana's been up to during all this?
Lea Surana went missing somewhere between the Exalted Council and the three months leading up to it.
What happened at Soldier's Peak?
The Soldier became an abandoned hole on a mountain top around the same time when the Grey Wardens abandoned Ferelden, either to hide, return to Weisshaupt, or follow Corypheus' call. A lot of people in Ferelden now like to paint it as one of the political victories for King Alistair of Ferelden, who had successfully reclaimed Amaranthine to the King's banner from under the Warden's banner and the silver order. Soldier, however, proved to be a fruitless siege, as sieging a mountain with an incredibly fortuitously based natural harbour just 200ft below the sheer cliff could've only worked if Ferelden had a fleet. And even if Ferelden did have a fleet to blockade Soldier's Peak, it was also an ancestral summering site for the Marcher-Fereldan seafaring clan of Dalish people, the Ninehn, and policy prevented Alistair from interfering with the voyages. Soldier under Lea Surana opened its surrounding areas and the harbour for Ninehn, and in turn, they would supply the isolated Soldier with ample food. There was no way of solving this problem in a very wartorn, technologically backwards Ferelden without starting another conflict with Ferelden's multiple large and thriving Dalish clans.
So when the Wardens did at last disappear from Ferelden, the capture of the Soldier, and appropriating all the magical research and mundane technology within its deep guts delving all the way down to the mountain range's roots, was seen as a major success. Lea Surana evaded capture and set up a permanent base in Antiva, stepping back as a Commander of the Grey, and remaining only loosely connected to Weisshaupt.
Lea Surana briefly served as Leliana's replacement for the Inquisition after Leliana donned the mitre as Victoria and left her position as the Inquisition's spymaster. The relations between the Inquisitor and Lea Surana were not unproductive, but they were fraught, as in the Inquisitor's eyes, his once-idol that had visited clan Lavellan as the Hero of Ferelden had fallen far from glory, and so enmeshed in magic and other cruel, if practical arts that it shamed his own sense of honour to work with him.
About Zevran Arainai
The relationship between Zevran and Lea Surana fell apart about seven years into the vanquishing of the Blight. Even the best, most well-adjusted people often struggle to keep a relationship intact. If you put a person who was young (only 19 at the time of the 5th Blight), horribly sheltered, and already with a difficult personality together with a former indentured worker, contract killer and grieving lover wallowing in suicidal ideation together during an active war, of course they're going to reach for one another. Only to discover that war was the only thing they ever had in common. Lea Surana didn't take the break-up well, it was an ugly affair of envy and jealousy and wrath on Lea's side, and bitter indifference on Zevran's. Zevran moved on with a new, much more suitable lover, and Lea Surana continued building his cabal of secrets and secret service, until pledging it to the Inquisition after Corypheus' fall.
Disappearance
As the Inquisition was busy racing Solas for relics and holy sites, Lea Surana was looking into rumours of ancient Warden or Elvhen ruins and troves in the vast and entirely sterile desert of the Sea of Ash, rendered such by one of the earliest Blights. He set out with an entire expedition, of whom only few returned, and what they did have to say was very difficult to parse. Most of their shared info was chalked up to insanity of isolation, trauma, starvation.
Rumours
The consensus is that Lea Surana returned underground after a failed expedition to meet the fate all Wardens who begin hearing the Call at the end of their lives as Wardens do. Others, especially those who do dare to traverse the Sea of Ash, give varied accounts. There are stories here and there of the remote peoples of the Ash taking in people found wandering the desert. Others speak of an once Place of Sadness becoming poisoned with what could best be described as a bitter sense of Envy.
Earlier stories spoke of a mirage towering to the moon during day time, a tower of 'black smoke' that remained in place, always, many-armed and spindly, moving in place like a pit of snakes. Later stories, however, have stopped of speaking of the colossal tower of snaking smoke, and have noted a bright star on the horizon that never moves, and is only visible during hours of dusk and dawn. In any case, any travellers are severely warned against following the still star, but it's become useful for navigation. Along the scarce few routes, there is a trail of supplies, carts and bones leading towards where that mirage, and then the star is seen, though it distinctly looks like recent scrap from a regular expedition, not something that was dropped to lighten the load. It's very evident that whoever left that trail of traveler's clutter went to the site of the still star, and came back. The scrap also appeared around the same time as the mirage of smoke disappeared and the star-like mote appeared.
It's guessed by scholars that Zevran Arainai is the one to ask about the Sea of Ash, but the veteran of the 5th Blight remains elusive and tight-lipped.
As for the supposed site of the Warden-Commander's disappearance and the sense of envy, unease and even evil that made a home in those ruins, the reports say that it's no longer oozing draining, hostile energy, but what has replaced it isn't any better. One's far better off not following that will-o-the-wisp. It lies, and it strips your skin from your flesh the closer you get, forever putting forth a hopeful face of a dawn star, and eating you alive the closer you get.
And it cannot die. One doesn't have to face it to know that the still star on the horizon is something that will be there long before the entire planet has turned into a cold stone and the whole cosmos has gone dark and dead.
In a way, Lea Surana got his wish. I guess it's a mercy that the 'wisp' of Fade only knows its most base direction and instinct: to consume and covet. It feels hunger, but it lacks the ability to comprehend it.
Strangely, the 'wisp' has been noticed by those wandering the edges of the Fade as well. In the Fade, its 'evil' feels more natural, like it belongs there, but even in the Fade, it is the only thing in it that never changes. A lot of the thin Fade around the material plane of Sea of Ash is dead and stationary, but even there it shifts whenever people traverse through it. Except for that particular wisp. It's frozen in time and space, forever stuck in a loop of itself.
Finally
The King of Ferelden has a bit of a pickle. Ferelden experienced something of a leap in tech, magic and medicine after capturing the Soldier, but a lot of money, blood, prayers and convincing has gone into convincing the superstitious and war-weary people of Ferelden that 'waste nothing' is not necessarily evil and unholy. The Hero of Ferelden title never did really belong to Lea Surana in the first place, it belonged to Loghain Mac Tir, even if he hadn't truly earned it (and would be the first to admit to it when he's in his cups). Loghain and Lea remained very friendly throughout, even if both acknowledged that Lea Surana did get bitter over not getting the recognition for being the one who maneuvered Loghain into a place where he could redeem himself so publicly in the first place, and that Loghain landed the killing blow due to a stroke of bad luck for Lea.
Lea Surana is all but erased from history already, except among the Dalish and the city elves. Even the Circle mages do not claim him as a hero, though various faculties within Circles do recognise his contribution to Circles' libraries of knowledge. They cannot complain about him: they benefited immensely from the brightness and the pitch dark that came out of the Soldier, and admitting to the atrocities committed under Lea Surana in search of greater knowledge and understanding of the world and the gods in it would mean that the Circles would crumble, and a lot of higher ranking Circle mages would be burned on the stake whilst their families outside of the Circle would be left to bear the burden, as would the free mages. Thus the party line is: 'Waste not.'

Appreciation Post - Dragon Age: Origins... Alistair Theirin
So, this comes shortly after my appreciation post for Zevran and I felt it was necessary to create one for our precious Warden boy-scout!
[again, this may be referenced by pages that contain the details about his background because there may be stuff that I may not personally remember.]
SPOILERS - this details Alistair's familial background and may be spoilers to those who are intrigued to play and have not.
[Trigger Warning: Mentions of mistreatment of a child/child abuse]
Pre-DA: Origins
So, Alistair's background is a bit confusing and initially, it was difficult for me to wrap my head around it all. However, we'll state it bluntly as to what his family tree is like so that way it's cleared up.
To put it bluntly (as well as crudely), Alistair is a bastard. A royal one, to be frank - his father is the deceased King of Ferelden, King Maric Theirin, and his mother was actually an elven Grey Warden - known as Fiona, who had grown up in an alienage within Orlais. So, he's what you call elf-blooded and this can certainly be deemed as an insult.
However, he was subjected to isolation and terrible behavior by the Arlessa of Redcliffe, Isolde, because she believed that the reason Arl Eamon had taken him in was due to the fact that he was the product of his own affair (Alistair was the product of the affair between Maric and Fiona, and they witheld this information so it would not raise a scandal and affect Eamon's sister, Queen Rowan. This suggestion was made by Loghain Mac Tir).
From there, he was booted off to the Chantry due to Isolde's frustrations and distrust - this is where he learned the teachings of the Chantry, as well as began training as a Templar - until Duncan had visited and invoked the Right of Conscription to conscript him into the Grey Wardens. This took place before he took his final vows to become a Templar and months before the events of DA: Origins...
Thoughts:
So, he was raised amongst peers who had called him a royal bastard (because the rumors of him being Eamon’s child had spread) and was treated poorly by extended family, individuals within the Chantry, and he wasn't treated with respect until he was conscripted into the Grey Wardens - most members don't give a damn about the backgrounds of their peers, except if they're capable enough to fight alongside each other against the dark spawn.
Duncan had obviously seen this in him and was determined to bring him in - however, he also knew of Alistair's background due to the fact of being friends with King Maric and Fiona (at one point). So, he knew of his background and still treated him like any other Grey Warden recruit.
Alistair felt like he finally found a place he belonged - amongst the Grey Wardens. He wasn't judged for his background simply because no one asked and just wanted to know him for who he is.
However, things do go downhill once we reach the events of DA: Origins...
Events of DA: Origins
Due to the events of DA: Origins and the aftermath of Ostagar, Alistair is forced to come to terms that [the player] and himself are the sole Grey Wardens within Ferelden and they're mere recruits. They're not seasoned enough and equipped to deal with the task of recovering the troops to fight against a likely 5th Blight - he's well aware of this after the run-in with Morrigan and Flemeth, the Witch of the Wilds.
However, he's hopeful.
With treaties in hand and a growing amount of skilled allies; a seasoned Qunari warrior, a lay sister who turns out to be a former bard from Orlais, the "daughter" of the Witch of the Wilds, and so forth.
As their travels began to stretch across the land and accomplishing tasks that seemed impossible, he's more than hopeful that they can bring an end to the the 5th Blight and avenge their fallen comrades - including Duncan, who lost his life beside King Cailan.
With all of the shit that he's faced and dealt with, it's no surprise that his coping mechanism is witty one-liners and humor... in fact, most of us would likely do the same. However, he's more than just some form of "comedic relief," and his background and personality shows it. Especially once you romance him.
Romancing Alistair
He's a sweetheart and a hopeless romantic, for sure. Growing up and being treated as a bastard, it's no surprise that he's careful and slow-going at the start because the relationship is so new and delicate to him... he's never been in a relationship, much less in love.
We tease him and poke fun at him for being a virgin, but it's another part to treasure about him - it means that he's serious about the Warden and that he's not in the relationship to toy with their heart, much less his own.
It also clues us in and makes it easier to understand why he's so hesitant in sharing his background; because the Warden will look at him for who he is and not for his lineage. They won't see him as a royal bastard, but the Grey Warden recruit that is a goofball and means well.
This goes to show that he's also scared of ruining what he's built together with the Warden and he would be crushed if that changed, even the slightest because of his lineage.
Depending on your reaction, it could definitely make (if you love him, regardless) or break (if you feel disillusioned and break up with him) and would affect him in the long run. Your Warden is his first love and he would blame himself for ruining it - he would learn to accept it, but he would constantly blame himself... likely to the end of time.
End-game Romancing (King vs. Grey Warden)
The biggest part of his romance - ascending the throne and accepting his lineage, or forgoing it and rising through the ranks of the Grey Wardens.
Now, this becomes tricky - depending on your own origin, you could ascend the throne with him and become the Queen of Ferelden and him the King of Ferelden (Cousland Origin)... Or, you become his mistress (Surana/Mahariel/Tabris/Brosca/Aeducan) whilst he marries Anora Mac Tir.
Or, if you have him choose to remain as a Grey Warden, then the pair of you would travel alongside each other as Anora would become the sole leader of Ferelden.
[This is also affected due to earlier decisions, specifically his loyalty quest and the responses afterward... AKA, Non-Hardened Alistair vs. Hardened Alistair]
King of Ferelden -
He is more hesitant in becoming King of Ferelden if you make him Non-Hardened after his loyalty mission and may choose not to accept his lineage. So, most of the decision/outcomes are based on him being Hardened Alistair.
Hardened (Cousland Origin): if you romance him as a Cousland and wish for him to take the throne, he will confidently accept the responsibility and claim his right to the throne - he will also be further pleased if the Warden announces to become the future Queen of Ferelden, stating that there will be a wedding and that the pair will rule together. Anora will express frustration - however, the Cousland family is second to the Theirin line and a legitimate heir with Theirin blood? She has no claim over the throne.
Hardened (Non-Cousland Origin): if you are romancing Alistair as any other background, he will not let your character go so easily if you place him on the throne and subject him to marriage with Anora/alone. This, in turn, will make your character the official mistress or concubine (whichever you prefer) unless you explicitly have the Warden break up with Alistair.
Non-Hardened (Non-Cousland Origin): This will only happen if you have Alistair marry Anora, regardless of your background, and he will break things off with your character. I don't suggest this route unless you're purposely being cruel towards your Warden, and possibly killing them off. [wow, that's extreme... nice lmao]
Anyways, there's a LOT to Alistair's background and storyline throughout DA: Origins, but when you include his romance? There's SO much and I really appreciate how much thought and love went into him - he's a great starter romance for the Dragon Age series as well as a great character.
Much love and appreciation for our sweetheart Alistair! ^.^

I really feel like Dragon Age Veilguard was in a lose/lose situation for a ton of DA fans bc there is no way to create a DA game that is more strictly linear by minimizing the choice impacts of the previous 3 games without pissing off ppl who felt the OG trilogy's really made their choices have lasting affects, even if those affects also in the grand scheme of things didn't really do much in each game beyond lore flavor text, cameos, and Morrigan's story. Dragon Keep did something to fans' brains chemistry that really made it feel like the games were way more personal than they really were (me included). Like some of the people are out here like "so nothing I did mattered?", Well...did how you handle Loghain really have any lasting gameplay and narrative affects that shook up DA2 or DAI? Truly? Like The Warden is never seen again in the series, you can see some of their respective love interests and get a nod on their potential travels, but for the most part they are gone and their big impact actions was stopping the 5th blight and helping Morrigan have a baby...everything else is just different spices on the same meal. Did Hawke's story really do anything for the mages or templars throughout all of Ferelden?? Minus make them a person the Chantry wants to use to help band ppl together? Did Sebastian becoming a king and Aveline joining up with him while most of the south is dying to darkspawn in a codex in Veilguard really erase their interactions in DA2??? Or is it in the face of death and doom unlikely people join together once more?? Does it hurt when you hear Isabela talk about learning what family meant to her if you turned on her in DA2? Sure, that is a slap to your choice, but we knew they were going this route; we knew they were going to pick what was canon and what was not in this all but confirmed soft-relaunch of the series. I'm not saying this game should be given a free pass on their writing's flaws, bc there are many...it is a Bioware game after all. But I am saying you might need to let go of the OG trilogy to enjoy this game's potential. You obviously don't have to listen to me, but if you keep comparing it to the original 3 you are never going to be anything but disappointed in Veilguard, bc it is not the same RPG first, action story second. It is a Linear, action based game with the RPG taking a back seat. Brother it is Mass Effect with elves. And I think if that hint at the end of the credits is anything to go by, if this is the set up for a new series of Dragon Age you are going to be spending more time with this group...at least I hope that is what they were hinting at bc this ending with this group left me feeling the same way I felt at the end of Mass Effect 1, like they just starting off with these characters and you have more to explore with each of them.

Embracing Dirthamen’s Gift of Prophecy: DA Dreadwolf Lenormand Grand Tableau (2/ ?)
In this part, I focus on the traditional gendered signifiers in Lenormand, which in this specific reading look suspiciously like antagonists.
PART 1
Major Figure 1: Snake-Woman
The first row of the spread kicks off with the Woman in 1st and a Snake in 2nd – a femme figure with major importance to the plot. They are portrayed as charismatic, layered, possibly deceitful or covert in their actions – likely a spy. They will bring about a temporary scheme or a contrivance that turns out to be more trivial than it seemed in the beginning. Shocking and groundbreaking revelations of some private or confidential information will be made to the party (Scythe in 3rd, Key in 4th). It might as well be that the entire mission is a setup to get the party to the Woman, so that they can sway the protagonist to their side.
Moving a little further to the cards that surround the Scythe, it seems that the Woman’s agenda, known to be very rigid, is now upset about their progress being too slow, or they worry about being unable to adapt to an inevitable deep change (Moon-Tree-Stork). This is why the Woman is determined to take radical steps – perhaps even go for a kill to resolve what they consider a serious security issue (Snake-Scythe-Key). Looking at the Snake-Moon pair in between the Woman and the Scythe, we are warned that this person manipulates and deceives for a living, since the Moon in Lenormand represents career, long-term goals, purpose and achievement-based reputation. This person’s greater goal, motivation and calling is more complicated than meets the eye. Their interactions with the protagonist might involve layers of deceit, riddles, and tests of mettle.
They might promise to redeem the protagonist from their threat of punishment. The protagonist will receive a promise of relief from some worries and a chance to start again. The party making the offer is depicted as strong and grounded, and the promised fortune would be long-lasting (Clover in 5th + Child in 6th). But as it turns out, this vision or promise of a reward is not what it seems (Stars in 7th). The protagonist’s lack of experience, their naivety or agreeableness lead them to be deceived or manipulated. The contract – quite possibly to assassinate someone – that is sealed from that place of misinformation, might turn into the greatest problem the party will have to eventually deal with (Ring in 8th, chained with Mountain in 25th).
Now let’s take a look at the column where the card lies. When paired with the Coffin in 9th, the Woman figure will request the party to end something permanently, or to proverbially bring some skeletons out of the closet. The thing in concern is presumed to be overdue, rotten, or it’s literally contained and buried deep underground. Within the Dragon Age context, it would have something to do either with the Blight and the remaining Archdemons, or with ancient elvhen ruins, like the ones explored in Genitivi Dies in The End and The Missing. With the Clouds in 17th following, the party might hope to gain some clarity and respite from trouble from completing this assignment, but some information in the context is being concealed or repressed. The hidden or withheld part is possibly how persistent and difficult to remove the problem is (Mountain in 25th).
A straight diagonal line from the Woman card leads through the Moon in 10th, Dog in 19th, Bouquet in 28th, and the Book in 35th. This figure has a reputation of someone dangerous, radical in their methods, someone who can attack swiftly and cut where it hurts most. In this position, the Moon card gives a major warning that cooperation with that figure, linking one’s purpose to them, might put the party in a deadly danger.
With the Moon and the Dog in 19th, they are perceived as fiercely loyal to their friends – yet, with the Dog being in the House of the Tower, there’s an extra warning message that they might actually try to isolate the party or lead them astray from their true goal. The Tower as a house meaning also hints that this person occupies a high position within some rigid, highly organized structure. This profile reminds me of Rasaan, who has appeared in comic books and Tevinter Nights – the second person after the Ariqun within the Ben-Hassrath, who searches Northern Thedas for traces of Solas’s ancestry and his “true name” in hopes that these can reveal his greatest weakness to the Qunari.
The Woman figure will eventually offer previously unknown, reliable information that is central to the Man (Bouquet in 28th + Book in 35th) and has vital importance to the entire story and the future in general (since the Book is one of the cards in the shorter Line of Fate, which is said to have predictive significance)..
Now, for a final look at some hidden motives in the cards knighting the Woman. With the Tree in 11th and Garden in 18th, the figure is shown as strongly dependent on their network, public connections and a certain role or front they have assumed. Our attention is brought to the well-being of an ancestry, a society or a widespread network. With the Tree in the House of the Whip, the well-being of the structure in concern relies on a high level of discipline, but it might as well be cyclically put into question due to tensions and conflicts. If my interpretation is correct, it would confirm the repeated rumours of inner strife within the Qun.
Major Figure 2: Book-Man
The Man card lies in the same row as the Birds that represent the protagonist, so there’s a subplot directly connecting them that I already covered in the 1st part of the reading. In the column starting from the Man card, we have Garden in 18th through Moon in 10th and Snake in 2nd. It appears that the Man, too, relies on their network and a certain public facade. They, too, have a reputation of someone dangerous and radical. They appear to be operating openly and purposefully towards certain results (Garden + Moon), but something about that impression isn’t entirely transparent. The Man’s motivations and concerns are covered by the same cards that clarify the Woman’s place in the reading (Moon + Snake).
Interestingly, the Man’s “portrait” (made of up to 8 surrounding cards) is more complete than the one of Woman’s. On the left, representing the past influence over them, we have Clouds in 17th and Mountain in 25th. It seems that the Man had recently come out of some stalemate and changed their mind about some problems of his being irremovable. A more intuitive approach to the Clouds in the House of the Stork might represent a literal transformation in the clouds or in the sky – which makes me believe the Man card represents Solas.
In their present situation, they are building a network and gathering allies; albeit, since the Man is in the house of the Book, they would remain concealed and indirect. In the nearest future, it seems that the Man’s old ally or friend, who has been skeptical towards him or has gone their separate way, arrives with an epiphany that heralds The Man’s success, or at least fills him with confidence (Dog-Rider-Sun).
A diagonal line from the Man goes through the Dog in 19th, Stork in 12th, Clover in 5th. They might pose as an ally to some organizations. But another meaning is the one we’ve already seen in relation to the Woman, since both characters’ diagonal lines meet at this exact card. It seems that both the antagonists will try to separate the party from other allies and the true objective, and pit the protagonist against the other side. The symmetry between their respective columns makes it look like they’re jousting, charging to confront each other halfway. Interestingly, these are the two columns starting the spread, and almost everything else happens outside them, as if both these parties had tunnel vision on their rivalry!
The Man will offer an alliance to bring forth a new beginning colored with spiritual profundity – a long-term, fortunate change of circumstances that they consider to be a necessary condition for thriving and well-being (Clover in 5th). They might receive reluctant help from an agent who's skeptical or cold towards the idea. The change will feel upsetting, chaotic, ill-considered, or carried out impulsively (Dog in 19th + Stork in 12th).
The Man is knighted by Tree in 11th, Anchor in 20th, and Letter in 34th. Interestingly, the Man and the Woman figures share the knighted Tree in 11th, as if the information in that particular area was the crux of their tug-of-war. The Man likely aims to make something in this regard widespread public knowledge, and the Woman might be counteracting to keep it hidden at all costs.
The pairing between the Letter in 34th and the Sun in 33rd makes it look like there is an abundance of absolutely priceless lore to be revealed, that ultimately validates the Man and figuratively shines the light even on things they might have been unaware of (looking at the Clouds-Man-Sun diagonal surrounding them). These are the cards in the Line of Fate, leading up to Bear in the House of the Cross – could this be a confirmation that this arc culminates in a revelation of Mythal as the ultimate antagonist?

While many types of daemons specialize in a specific type of death, it's unknown whether they are souls who died of that method. It seems more poetic, that a person who dies by starvation may become a meladaemon upon death, a daemon that spreads starvation and famine to kill others, but not everything is so neat and tidy. It may also be that souls who commit grievous sins in life can become daemons associated with the sins they committed. Someone who starves others out of hatred becomes a meladaemon to continue their destructive acts.
Meladaemons are jackal headed daemons that are harbingers of famine and thirst. Their very presence will slowly kill plants and foul water, though this isn't quick enough to provide them any assistance during battle. More imposing is their aura of hunger and withering touch, which cause weakness and pain due to intense hunger, making it very difficult to fight back against the creature as your body falters. Arrogant and cruel, they rarely work with other daemons, even another meladaemon, and in the rare time one needs help it prefers to bully weaker creatures into its service. They will often draw out deaths as long as possible, playing with weaker foes and capturing alive when possible to let an enemy die of starvation and thirst instead.
Piscodaemons look like a strange mixture of humanoid, lobster, and octopus. A humanoid body with lobster exoskeleton and pincers, and a four-armed octopus for its head, they are personifications of poisoning. As with many other daemon types they enjoy drawing out kills if they don't feel threatened, poisoning creatures and allowing them to die from that as they continually enhance the poison's lethality. Unlike many other daemon types though, they will purposefully target strong and powerful warriors over weaker opponents, taking an additional pleasure from seeing such a figure buckle and weaken from their poison. As they're able to swim well, they often take control of hydrodaemons, bullying the weaker daemons into service and causing horrific destruction along whatever water ways they can take control of.

Death doesn’t have to be the end...
For moons, the clans have struggled through tremendous loss. From dozens of cats vanishing without a trace to cats showing up dead at their borders after moons of silence, many are having difficulty coping with and accepting their recent losses. Has StarClan turned their back on them, or is there something more sinister at play?
Enter The Reapers: a nomadic group of cats who have made it their life’s mission to help other cats understand and cope with the concept of death. To these cats, death is not a tragedy, but simply the next step in a cat’s existence. Following a dream given to one of their youngest members, the group approaches clan borders, hoping not only to grant them a new perspective, but to help them through the tragedy they have faced.

Wheel of Time Screentime, s1e8
That first season finale was interesting, to say the least. Quite a few departures from the books, sure, but it does set-up some interesting things for book 2 and book 3 storylines. IMO, this is also the episode that suffered the most from the Covid situation: some late rewrites had to be done following Mat’s actor leaving, budget got tighter, the whole battle ended up being full CGI due to Covid restrictions, etc. Overall, I still enjoyed the episode, especially on a rewatch, so I’m willing to give them a pass for what did not work well.
Linked below are all the previous WoT Screentime and Speaking Time analyses. far-dareis-me did a fantastic job on those Wheel of (Speaking) Time posts, please check them out!
WoT Screentime: e1 | e2 | e3 | e1-3 | e4 | e5 | e6 | e7 | e8
WoT Speaking Time: e1-3 | e4 | e5 | e6 | e7 | e8
Ep7 revealed who was the Dragon Reborn, and ep8 definitely developed on that. While Rand got the 2nd spot in four episodes this season, ep8 is the first for which our favorite sheepherder gets the 1st spot. His In-Scene time is 7min bigger than Moiraine’s, with who he was traveling, due to his dream and later on his mental fight with Ishamael. Rand also has 11min more than any other folks from the Two Rivers. This was definitely his episode, which was expected and deserved.
Talking about Moiraine and Egwene, both appear either in Rand’s dream or in the fake world Ishamael showed Rand. This isn’t the first time characters appear in other people’s dreams, and so far I have never made a distinction between dream characters and real ones. I considered making one here, but ultimately decided against for simplicity and better tracking of characters over the whole season. As a result, Moiraine’s dead time corresponds to when she is killed in Rand’s dream. Meanwhile, Egwene is considered as unconscious whenever she is frozen in the fake world. Without that mental fight, Egwene would have a lower screentime than Nynaeve: the two of them are mostly in the same scenes, except when Egwene is comforted by Perrin (a 52s scene) and when Nynaeve and Lan talk (a 1m57s scene).
Ishamael had almost 8 minutes and half of screentime, putting him 5th on this chart. However, I am guessing his rank will be higher on the speaking time analysis, as that man was quite talkative.
I was hoping to see more of Min in this episode. Unfortunately, she gets less than a minute in her bar, talking with the EF folks that haven’t left for the Blight, and then a few more seconds as she is leaving Fal Dara. Bets are on concerning where she might be going: my personal guess is Tar Valon.
While I considered Lord Yakota as dead in that scene with Perrin and Padan Fain, I marked both Uno and Loial as unconscious instead. We know those two characters are making a comeback in season 2, and we don’t get an obvious “death” moment for them like we got one for Yakota. Similarly, I marked Nynaeve as unconscious instead of dead: her make-up doesn’t appear as burned up as Lady Amalisa, and in the books the One Power cannot be used to revive someone already dead. This could change in the show (how come Aes Sedai don’t have some magical CPR and defibrillator, really), but for now I will stick to the “Nynaeve was only almost dead” theory.
Gender balance is somehow decent for this episode, as we have about 13min more In-Scene time for men than for women. This is pretty much in line with the rest of the show, as only episode 6 had women with more screentime than men.
As always, the data can be found at this link. I will follow-up in a few days with a summary for the whole first season. After that, I may do some random stats stuffs like “who did X spend the most time with?” and others, so if you have specific requests about some characters or some episodes, please send them to me!

I’m an Ace Lesbian
Hey everyone, it’s Kerris! Ok, so, I realized I was ace back in May, it wasn’t very hard to figure that out. I had a lot harder of a time figuring out who I was romantically attracted to, though. So, when I first put a label on myself back in 2021, I labeled myself as Pansexual (I hadn’t realized I was ace yet) and nothing really made me question it until August. In August I realized I might be a lot more into non-men and I debated if I was a lesbian until about the end of September when I settled on the thought that I was omni. However, when I was in this debate I was basing it on mostly fictional crushes and a few crushes I had on girls at school. Then, on Monday night my brain decided to start this debate up again. On Tuesday and Wednesday I watched a bunch of videos, took quizzes, and looked on Tumblr for answers. What ended up settling this was when I learned lesbians can have crushes on fictional men.
I think my subconscious was thinking about the possibility even back in June, though because when I create OCs I put part of myself into them (personality, sexuality, etc.) so when I created my TOH OC Rowan, I thought I was just putting the ace part of me in her, but I guess not.
Something I think might have helped me figure this out is Amity Blight and Luz Noceda. I have crushes on both of them and it makes me so happy to see this kind of rep in a kids show and might have figured this out earlier in life if I had something like this when I was younger. The first gay character I was ever introduced to was Nico di Angelo when I was in the 5th grade.
Yeah, so anyways, in conclusion, I figured out I was a lesbian this week!

There are TWO prompts per day so pick whichever one inspires you! Tag your content with #zevwarden week 2020 and it’ll be reblogged here. ***Any art found to be whitewashing Zevran will not be posted
Wednesday, July 1st: EYE OF THE BEHOLDER [identity][admiration]
Thursday, July 2nd: LA PETITE MORT [death][weak spots]
Friday, July 3rd: "OH MAKER" [faith][first times]
Saturday, July 4th: CANDLELIGHT WHISPERS [opening up][pillow talk]
Sunday, July 5th: ANTIVAN BAD BOY [tattoos][kink]
Monday, July 6th: BLOODSTAINED CLOTHES [injury][dressing up]
Tuesday, July 7th: #RELATIONSHIPGOALS [flirting][the future]
Descriptions of each prompt under the cut:
Wednesday, July 1st EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
Identity “A Dalish whore, thank you very much. It was my sole distinction amongst the other elven boys in the whorehouse.”
How does Zevran feel about his identity as a Dalish (or not, as the case may be)? Does he struggle with the diaspora? Does that change after meeting your warden? Do they ever try and find his family? Does your Warden also struggle with their identity, or belonging?
Admiration “We all have our reasons for doing what we do. Mine happen to come with a set of strong hands/lovely eyes.”
What are the things that Zevran admire about the warden -- both appearance and personality? What first drew his attention? What about the contrary? What is it about Zevran that makes your warden’s heart swell and their undergarments wet?
Thursday, July 2nd DAY 2: LA PETITE MORT
Death “Oh, I'm not going to die. It's always the Grey Wardens that die. Did you not read stories as a child? The hero always dies.”
Does the warden sacrifice themselves, do they live to hear the Calling, or do they find the cure and reach old age along with Zev? Who dies first; how? How does the other deal with the grief? Do their friends and family (children?) help them heal?
Weak spots “Hmm. Now that you mention it, I... I suddenly rather feel like a delicate mushroom…”
What do you HC are Zevran’s weaknesses in bed? What gets him “spilling liquid everywhere” like a delicate mushroom? How does the warden find out about it? What does Zev do that makes the warden weak? Do either of them have an innocuous ‘thing’ that just makes them melt?
Friday, July 3rd "OH MAKER"
Faith “And I ask forgiveness for my sins from the Maker every chance I get.”
How do you HC Zevran’s relationship to faith, Andrastianism, etc? Does he believe, or is he cynical? Does he hold a grudge against the Maker? Fear Him? Pray to Him? How do his beliefs (or lack thereof) play out next to the Warden’s?
First times “I grew up amongst Antivan whores, men and women both. My introduction to the subject of sex was, shall we say, rather practical.”
How did Zevran’s first time with the warden go? Were they a virgin, or an experienced lover? Do they stumble trying to find out what the other likes? And how do you HC Zevran’s introduction to sex actually went -- how did it affect him? What about the Warden’s, if Zev was not their first? Do they ever talk about it?
Saturday, July 4th CANDLELIGHT WHISPERS
Opening up “It... feels good to speak of it to someone. I swore I never would.”
How long does it take for your Warden and Zevran to trust each other enough to open up? When does Zevran tell them the truth about Rinna, about his pain? How freely does the Warden show him their deeper secrets, wishes and traumas? How do they comfort each other?
Pillow Talk “You Fereldens are so finicky. How will you ever learn how to pleasure each other unless you talk about it?”
Was your Warden used to talking about sex at all, or were they a “finicky” Fereldan? How does Zev ease them into it? What are the aspects of sex about which they talk? Are there any incompatibilities between them that they have to work out? Is there anything the Warden (or even Zev) is embarrassed of and takes time to talk about/bring into their sex life?
Sunday, July 5th ANTIVAN BAD BOY
Tattoos “Ohhh, yes, yes. But it is not so bad, in truth. If you like, I could give you one. I learned a bit of the art myself in Antiva.”
Tattoo artist Zev -- is it canon in your canon, or was he just messing around with Alistair? Does he ever give your Warden a tattoo? What is it of? How does it go? Who brings it up first?
Kink “Now that I've mentioned tying me up in that context, do we have extra rope about?"
Zev talks about getting tied up so often it’s hard to choose just one rope quote. Is he thirsty for rope-play/BDSM in your canon? What about your Warden? Do they get kinky in the bedroom? Do they tie Zev up, gag him and spank him, or vice versa? Does it ever end badly by accident? How do they deal with it when elaborate sex takes unwanted turns?
Monday, July 6th BLOODSTAINED CLOTHES
Injury “I haven't been this hurt in... well, ever!”
Zevran’s Crow training was no cakewalk, but how do you HC Zevran handles injuries? How does the warden take it when Zev gets badly hurt? Or vice versa? Do Zev or the warden ever get poisoned, seriously ill or have a major brush with death? What of magical injuries? Do they use magic to heal -- if your warden is a mage, is this a comforting ritual for Zev?
Dressing Up (or down 😏 ) “I’ve always removed my clothes strictly on an amateur basis. A talented amateur, but an amateur nonetheless.”
Do you HC Zevran enjoys dressing up for a fancy party, an infiltration job, or even a tumble between the sheets? Has he ever done a strip-tease for the warden or vice versa? Do they roleplay in full costume in the bedroom? Do they enjoy shopping for clothes together? What is their fashion sense? Would they dress up for a Halloween party in an AU? What costumes?
Tuesday, July 7th #RELATIONSHIPGOALS
Flirting “Do you stare at everyone like that?” “Not everyone.”
Zev is such a good flirt he can stare off a lass’ six layers of skirts. How does the warden feel at first, being the object of Zev’s flattery? How do they respond? In what ways does it change as they get closer? Do they get the habit of telling each other awful pick-up lines? Do they keep flirting like two idiots even years later?
The Future “How should I know? I cannot see the future. What if I liked it here? What if we became fond of each other, hmm? Stranger things have happened.”
Does Zevran find a home with the campfire crew; with the warden and their family? Do they start a family? What strange things he’d never expected end up surprising him in their journey? What shocking twists does their future hold? What Post-Blight adventures do they have?

BACKSTORY (Can change depending on the RP or story plot)
(IN CADENCE'S POV)
Rebels. That's all you know of us. The Yiga Clan, thieves. You only know so much, that you call us evil. I was fooled too, but in a different way as you. What good could there be any way in such evil people?
No one is really truly evil. The people around them, the things they do, are the ones that make them evil. Revenge drives them to become the way they are now. But they only see the bad in you, not themselves.
Ever since I was a child, I knew I was an outcast. A simple loner who didn't deserve love. I was thrown away by my father, the king of Hyrule. I was a cursed child ever since then, and I will always be. I can see why he threw me away, I was simply not needed and is of no use to him at all.
But life isn't as cruel as it seems to be. When all hope is lost, someone will be there to pick you up. But in change, you owe them your life. You had to pay a debt. Master Kohga tells me a story, tells me that he found me out in the Hyrule Garrison, surrounded by creatures who threatened to kill me.
Until that they on, I served him, and treated him like a father. I owe him my life, and I'd do anything to set things right. Though I knew I wasn't his child, I treated him like he was my father anyway. Whoever threw me out don't deserve to be called my parents, because how could a parent ever throw their children away, as if they're nothing to them?
But some things you blindly just follow solely because it was a debt you had to pay when you don't realise how evil you're becoming.
All my life, I simply wanted to avenge myself. After my father had told me how he found me, and who my parents were.. all I could feel was grief. Sadness. Pain. Little did I know was that I was going to meet a certain someone who was going to change that negative perspective of mine. Perhaps someone to clear the clouds after a stormy day.
It all started when I set off for a mission. My mission was to get inside information on the Hylians and the Hyrule Kingdom. Then, once I fulfil that mission of mine, well... we destruct their foundation. Only then will they know how much it hurts to be broken and thrown away.

Homebrew Distillery: Feywild Sorcerer
Unlike the Archfey Warlock who has fairies who cast magic for them and grant them a small boon of their power, the Feywild Sorcerer has a much deeper vein of fey magic running through their veins.
Fey Ancestry
After being exposed to fey magic, you learn to read and write Sylvan, have advantage against being charmed, and cannot be put to sleep through magic. Instead, you fall into a trance for four hours.
However, not all fey are alike. Some are benevolent protectors and guardians who impart their generosity and compassion on those they come across. Even if they pull mischievous pranks, they are meant in good fun without malicious intent. This is the Seelie Court. But some fey are cruel and vicious, preferring to end the lives of those who trespass in their domain. They are the powerful and dangerous Unseelie Court. Be they sirens who lure sailors to their death, kelpies who drown those foolish enough to ride it, or boggarts who trash the house from lack of respect. When you are touched by fey magic at first level, choose one of these two faerie courts.
Seelie Spells 1st Guiding Bolt, Faerie Fire 3rd Misty Step, Moonbeam 5th Remove Curse, Tiny Servant 7th Private Sanctum, Woodland Beings 9th Dream, Animate Objects
Unseelie Spells 1st Faerie Fire, Hex 3rd Crown of Madness, Web 5th Bestow Curse, Fear 7th Giant Insect, Blight 9th Mislead, Insect Plague
One with Nature
Starting at 1st level, you develop a close and personal relationship with nature. Upon leveling up in this subclass, you can choose to replace any Sorcerer spell you could learn with a spell from the Druid spell list. It must be of a level you have spell slots for. Charisma is your stat for spellcasting.
Court Emissary
Beginning at 6th level, your sway over the emotions of mortals is stronger based on the disciplines instilled in you by the policies of your court.
Seelie: When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that has the chance to charm a single target, you can target a second creature within 5 feet of the original target. Both targets make a saving throw against being charmed.
Unseelie: When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that has the chance to frighten a single target, you can target a second creature within 5 feet of the original target. Both targets make a saving throw against being frightened.
Magical Miscreants
At 14th level, you can play with the perceptions of other creatures for your amusement. When another creature makes an attack roll, skill check, or saving throw, you can reduce the number rolled by a 1d10. Creatures with blindsense or that see through illusions, such as with True Sight, cannot be effected by this feature. You can use this feature equal to your Charisma modifier. Once you have used this feature, you cannot use it again until you have finished a long rest.
Ambassador of Avalon
By the 18th level, you have risen to a place of great prestige within the Seelie or Unseelie Court. With your rise to prominence comes with it greater access to the magic of the feywild.
Seelie: For one minute, you grow a pair of translucent butterfly wings with a flying speed of 30 feet. While in this powerful state, the magic of the feywild flows through you. When you cast spells of 1st level or higher that deal damage, deal an additional 5 radiant damage + your sorcerer level. During this transformation, other creatures have disadvantage against being charmed by you. Creatures that resist being charmed lose their resistance, and creatures immune to charms can be charmed with disadvantage. Once you have used this feature, you must complete a long rest before you can use it again.
Unseelie: For one minute, you grow a pair of translucent moth wings with a flying speed of 30 feet. While in this powerful state, the magic of the feywild flows through you. When you cast spells of 1st level or higher that deal damage, deal an additional 5 necrotic damage + your sorcerer level. During this transformation, other creatures have disadvantage against being frightened by you. Creatures that resist being frightened lose their resistance, and creatures immune to being frightened can be frightened with disadvantage. Once you have used this feature, you must complete a long rest before you can use it again.

this quarantine is making me think about my warden solona amell so i finally caved and did the hairstyle meme. i wanted to draw this initially but... i got too lazy... and i’ve done sims 4 edits before so i was like hey!! let’s do that!!
stuff about her under the cut and here’s the blank template!
sol is revka amell's youngest. she was taken to the circle quite young and doesn’t really remember her family. she takes after her anders dad mostly (hence her asian features) but has her mama’s blue amell eyes. there’s a lot more to her family history but it’s... it’s too long... i thought too much
sol is an enfj, heh. she's always trying to do the right thing but is pretty indecisive about what the right thing really is. this makes her anxious and deeply insecure, something she tries to hide from everyone
she’s an arcane warrior + spirit healer, then later a battlemage. my tank baby just wants to protect everyone
her life in the circle was pretty pleasant but that’s only because sol was talented and nobleborn, so the templars and senior mages treated her differently than her peers. for the same reasons, sol was pretty naive and lonely, her only true friends being jowan and irving. it wasn’t until ostagar that her worldview truly changed and she saw the circle for what it was.
duncan conscripted her when she was 17, so my baby grew up real fast. Broken Circle hardened the fuck out of her and her peers who survived the circle’s fall had A LOT to say to her privileged face
ferelden has a mixed opinion of their hero and sol’s not on good terms with all of her companions after the blight ended. after the blight, everyone drifted away. the only person she checks on is Leliana and occasionally, Wynne and Zevran
I think the major events pre-Landsmeet made Sol more pragmatic. She started making decisions based on what was best for Ferelden instead of what was personally best for the individual. and because i love angst, sol romanced and hardened alistair. they broke up when she spared loghain and conscripted him into the grey wardens. she also made him king and Anora queen because she saw potential in their union. Alistair obviously never forgave her for any of it and they did not part on good terms
she made loghain do the ritual with morrigan to play safe. i deadass only chose this for my “canon” worldstate so that loghain can sacrifice himself in DAI and not my hawke dhausdjka
anyway, i’d like to think that the decade she spent in Amaranthine as Warden-Commander gave her some relative peace, after The Mother bullshit was dealt with at least. She didn’t kill The Architect and managed to save both the Keep and the city, but at the cost of losing Justice and Velanna who she left behind to defend the Keep.
Anyone who knew her from before knows that she smiles less now and doesn’t joke as much as she used to. She grew to accept the burden and role as Warden Commander and eventually found the courage to forgive herself for all the decisions she had to make during the 5th blight and the people she lost from it. She never loved anyone like she did Alistair, but did find brief comfort in Nathaniel before he left for Kirkwall.
i headcanon that amell is a huge fan of the Inquisitor (warrior ellana lavellan) who happens to also be a huge fan of the HoF and their scarce letters to each other are really just polite suppressed fangirling that makes leliana giggle
please dont call me out on that blurry magi origin pic
