This post is for all the people who are interested in playing or trying Dragon Age. This is a collection of notes, disclaimers, and trigger warnings for all three games (Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Inquisition)

I would like to put a disclaimer that Dragon Age games do have dark themes and subject matter in different sections of the games

DAI has the least graphic or disturbing matter. So, be warned just in case.

I'll mention some of the trigger warnings but there are a lot more than I know so please search up a complete list for more details. Also majority of these are either only heavily implied or mentioned but they are alarming if you didn't expect it

TW: Sexual violence, cannibalism, child murder, demon possession, slavery, lobotomy/mind break (kind of), body horror, terrorism, racism

DA2 is VERY IMPORTANT to the lore on why the events of DA: Inquisition happened.

DA:O and DA:2 has a "Real Time with Pause" gameplay like BG1 & BG2 had. This two games is the most similar to BG3 gameplay wise. Inquisition still has the real time pause mechanic but for me you barely need to use it.

Another personal advice is to mod the shit out of the games to your enjoyment.

DAO & DA2 graphic enhancements mods are your best friends. Reminder that these games came out in 2009 and 2011.

Both DAO & DAI have gender and race restrictions in their romances.

All DA2 romantic interests are bisexuals

Be aware that the older games have some issues of crashing. So, Don't forget to save

You cannot log in the old server of DAO but you have to log in the EA app to gain access to your DA2 dlcs.

Also after playing each game, input your decisions in your gameplay here. DAI imports from here so that your decisions is applied in DAI

The Heroes of Thedas

The Warden, Aisling Tabris, a city elf with a criminal record, miraculously survived defeating the Arch demon and became Warden Commander of the Fereldan wardens but disappeared a few years later after searching for the Witch of The Wilds Morrigan- his current location is unknown though the Inquisition received a letter from him indicating that he was alive.

The Herald of Andraste, Inquisitor Lyonel Lavellan. After defeating Corypheus and helping Lelianna become Divine an Exalted Council was called- in order to find Solas the Inquisition became the Divine’s personal guard. The inquisitor may or may not have become a member of the Friends of Red Jenny pulling pranks with Sera in order to bring a little levity to the world- and perhaps allow himself to relax after taking on the weight of the world. He is sometimes seen sneaking into Tevinter to see his beloved Dorian.

The champion of Kirkwall Lyra Hawke was an apostate mage. Known for her humor and general inability to mind her own business she saved Kirkwall from the Qunari but went on the run as a pirate with her partner Isabela after assisting the mage rebellion in Kirkwall- though she had apparently personally executed the mage Anders leaving many to wonder how involved she truly was with the rebellion. Her brother Carver was one of the few Templars who avoided the Red Lyrium Incident and Corypheus’ control likely due to her friend Varric’s intervention. She was last seen in Kirkwall assisting the new Viscount Varric Tethras- and answering the letters of the Starkhaven Prince on the Viscounts behalf…

Finally we have Rook, name unknown, appearance unknown. An elven spell sword mage of the Antivan Crows, they were hired by Varric Tethras to assist in stopping the mage Solas from tearing down the veil- no other information is available at this time.

It makes my heart so happy to see people getting into DAO in preparation for the next game. I love seeing more people getting to know the characters and story that first sucked me into not just Dragon Age but also gaming in general when I was fifteen. It leaves me feeling so nostalgic and happy for them. And if they've played the other games prior to this, then I hope it gives them a new fondness in addition to the context from certain moments in DA2 and DAI.

The news about the new Dragon Age game excited me so much that I was inspired to try digital art, and I'm happy with how it turned out. Indulgent OC-lore under the cut!

This is my Kallian Tabris, (almost) all cleaned up and ready to get married in the first photo, and in the second a grizzled warden time has not been kind to, who's in the same background not due to my own laziness but because she's revisiting the alienage in vivid memories, of course.

She got those tattoos as an homage to her mother, a Dalish elf who she knew little about but had seen in photos, face and neck adorned with lines that looked like vines or thick black veins, some in the shape and placement like the one she got herself.

Anyway, advice on digital art, especially concerning armor- I could use plenty of help there, would be greatly appreciated. Gonna go play it all again from the beginning, again.
