one of the most immediate unanswered questions left by veilguard is what’s going to be done with the lighthouse & the crossroads. it’s too useful to get rid of, if you even could get rid of it, but that usefulness would be catastrophic for all of thedas in the wrong hands. (including the hands of some of the factions we allied with, Not That I’m Naming Names, coughcoughantivancrows. and i love the grey wardens but we all know how they can act when they think the situation calls for it.) any power in thedas would want this and go to great lengths for it

i bring this up because it could be a fun consideration if you want to “keep the family together” in post-game fic. it would not be that unbelievable if some or all of the veilguard have to continue acting as its guardians long term, using their strength and the goodwill they’ve earned to defend it and decide who can use it

ok here’s a flagship concept of mine: rook/lucanis but the reason it’s so easy for the party to assume they’re already fully in a relationship is that they’ve been sharing a room for half the game because having rook on watch was the only thing he could trust enough to sleep

the other thing abt the aliwarden baby timeline is that it would destroy mahvir'hanin if he learned abt it. dandelion doesn't blame him anymore for the choice he made in the fade - she was losing family either way - but mahvir'hanin usually thinks that she should. learning that he effectively killed the kid's father? he's never going to get over it

ilan: there had to have been a better way of removing the anchor. or at least a less dramatic way - losing a limb is already a traumatic enough experience

playing a rook that's already met the inquisitor means that a lot of conversations are a little ???. but honestly i think it would be funny if ilan had just kind of assumed everyone already knew abt him knowing at least half of the inner circle bc harding had mentioned it or that he'd been clear enough for them to have figured it out based on one of his comments. but no one has bc its not the conclusion they'd jump to first

and then they all get the scare (maybe at different times?) of ilan going 'oh my aunt, divine victoria' or god forbid him actually saying 'uncle varric'
