You get trapped with two Dragon Age characters (spin the wheel) in one room for a day.
#emmrich and cassandra.#well i don't think we'd kill each other at least.#i don't think we'd all be friends either but there is middle ground that i think we could reach.#and if cassandra can work with dorian's necromancy she can work with emmrich's

ilan never met solas (met mahvir'hanin after dai; adopted after trespasser) but he heard about him from mhl and the others. he knows mhl is fond of solas, misses his friend, but also lands more on the side of "if he has to die, i'll do it." not that he wanted to put that on his kid. between that, everything varric told him, and then trespasser, he was unsure why they were still hoping he could be talked down.
but then he actually talked to solas, even as bad as they started, and was startled to find he was... fond? of him? wanted solas to understand, if not approve of, what he was doing. so, alright, fine - he'll try talking him out of whatever it is he's still planning, bc its not like ilan believes the dread wolf is going to sit quietly in a prison. his dad would love for it to work out and it doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world.
and then. well.
your rook lavellan 🤝 my rook lavellan
they'll try to redeem him but he's not making it easy
REAL. feros is going to drag that man back to the light if he has to. there's a lot of complicated emotions between them (feros veers so sharply into outright hate sometimes and then other times it's this deep-set grief he can't shake) but if for no one else, he'll do it for varric, who has consistantly held out hope for solas, and for his mom. dread wolf vs the world's biggest mama's boy, solas is NOT winning that fight
#ilan aldwir#mahvir'hanin never got the fight he promised varric abt recruiting ilan. solas is lucky he's difficult to reach post-game#ilan is Fine. he's So Over It; it wasn't even that bad. honest.#no one believes him. for good reason#also i did decide that solas knows about ilan + mhl bc he had spies. idk what happened to them but he did#and it would be stupid of him to not put at least one in the veil jumpers#so solas brought that up in minrathous. which no one was happy about

i know canonically that if any of the origins are dead its definitely maharial but so far i can't convince myself that elrion dies. he has shit to do, the blight can't take him
#elrion mahariel#also he's not leaving zevran alone. ever.#in the seperated timelines elrion didn't do the ritual and that was half not liking blood magic#and half going “morrigan as your friend. you are not sleeping with logain. i can't let you.”#in my timeline morrigan talked to both stephen and him at the same time and stephen went “yeah okay” before they could argue abt it#there was still an argument. probably a worse one. but they do the ritual#and then stephen has to tell his brother he did it later. don't know if he actually does though

i do think its funny to play a character whose feelings on blood magic are "if its willing/your own blood i don't care (and sometimes am supportive) but im not going to say it bc i know everyone will react Poorly"
#first of all the crows aren't allowed to judge anyone. like as a whole.#this is why the hof couldn't show up in veilguard actually#they would have straight up said “do any of you remember that wardens are allowed Legally to do whatever we need to to stop a blight”#and caused so many arguments. no one wins bc the hof is right but also none of them are going to do blood magic#well. dandelion would. but she's dead regardless

rook qotd: what is your rook's view on death? do they fear it? have they made peace with it? if they fear it, why? what part of death scares them? if they've made peace with it, how did they come to that?
is the way they view it now different from how they viewed it when they were younger? does their faction's environment influence it? does their view change after the events of the game?
#ayalen ingellvar#isn't afraid of death. as she told emmrich#growing up knowing in a very real way that her life had a deadline made sure of it#as she's grown older i think she's learned the weight of it. it didn't feel as real when she was younger#i don't think she ever felt worry or fear over it though#and the watchers help in their way; if not for them i think she'd be far less comfortable with the idea of death#and also might have died younger. but she's not thinking abt that#post-game her only new concern is davrin but like. wardens die young too so with any luck their life-spans are roughly even#ilan aldwir#fears the pain of dying more so than dying itself#which makes his job choice (veil jumper and veil guard) odd#if there was ever a group that was going to find new and fucked up ways to die Extremely Painfully its the veil jumpers#also part of why he prefers using a bow. but for the most part he can put it out of his mind during a fight#he's gotten more comfortable risking injury now than he was when he was younger#arlathan forest made sure of it#hmm post-game i think he's still roughly at the same point he was at the beginning. just more aware of his limits#vitale de riva#did not let themself think abt it. at all.#generally more afraid of other people dying rather than themself (this doesn't always translate to them being self-sacrificing)#i think its the loss part. they don't like losing things - fights; attention; gambles; etc. death isn't different#emmrich is the reason they start thinking abt it. likely wouldn't have if he hadn't brought it up first#post-game they're on edge more than they otherwise would have been#the crows are dangerous and they're around the 1st talon most of the time#between lucanis and viago and teia they're maybe starting to understand viago's paranoia. which is never a good thing to have to do

rook qotd: what does your rook think of their position within their faction's ranks? do they have any aspirations of climbing higher? are they comfortable staying where they are? does this change after the events of the game?
#ayalen ingellvar#i think she was comfortable with her position but after...#between wanting to be with davrin and knowing now that she enjoys being amongst ppl she'd probably like being more of a diplomat#maybe not an official one but someone who has the freedom of movement. or maybe a researcher?#smth where she isn't in the necropolis all the time#ilan aldwir#i dont think the veil jumpers have much in terms of official ranks but he was and still is fine being like. a normal explorer#post-game he bounces between tevinter/nevarra/arlathan mostly and visits the others too#so the only 'promotion' i think he gets is working directly with bellara which is fine by him#vitale de riva#they were in survival mode for most of their life and that only changed after (redacted) died and they attacked the antaam#their position was probably somewhat high? they weren't going to be the next talon if viago died but like. 3rd or 4th choice maybe#they don't really want to be. but it keeps them near viago. and also they've never been tasked with training the fledglings which is Good#for both their mental health and for the sake of the kids; vitale i think is bad with them. even by crow standards#and post-game their involved with lucanis. so. not really sure what a promotion would look like there#i've said it before but i think the first major conflict in their relationship is going to be#lucanis having to focus more on being 1st talon instead of being able to be with vitale 24/7#and i don't even think that's going to be one-sided. i think they're both codependent messes though perhaps at different levels

#wip: 190#rook dellamorte#doing what he failed to do in datv - taking lucanis' place in the narrative#still not sure how to write him however#so its slow going

Bioware didn't provide a cutscene showing Rook getting out of the fade and leave us all the work Poor Emmrich must have been worried sick for weeks...
You put a sweet gothic man in your game and don't expect me to give in my hopeless romantic tendencies?... *scoffs* Also... Emmrich is such a refreshing take on the necromancer archetype. I for one wasn't expecting it at all. I can't express how much I love the whole idea for the character.
On a side note, I mostly happy with this one. This man has no right being so much fun to draw. Also...won't say how much time I've spent on this """sketch"""@_@
Anyway, here's my crow Rook, Lenore de Riva. (I planned to do a MW Rook until last second. As much as I love the faction, I liked the idea of Emmrich finding his true love outside the Necropolis)

rook qotd: how was your rook's childhood? how would they describe it if someone asked them about it? what was their prominent emotion? were they happy? stressed? angry? did they even understand what they were feeling? what was the most notable occurrence? did they look to anyone for guidance? if so, how were they with your rook? loving? harsh?
#ilan aldwir#vastly lonely. he had a few friends and an uncle but i don't think he'd say he was very close to them#he was often overlooked; didn't ask for help or try to gain attention from the adults#who he always thought were busy enough taking care of the other kids/orphans#out of his peers he looked to tarim for an idea of what was “normal”. and his uncle while he was alive#i don't think he was sad but he wasn't happy either. resigned maybe#ayalen ingellvar#for certain reasons i'd say she often felt stifled even if she understood#between [redacted] and her illness she didn't get to wander as far as most of her peers#she stayed within the necropolis for the most part. and she enjoys being there so she never thought too hard abt what she was missing#usually she was considered to be in vorgoth's care and that's who she looked to#im still not sure how old myrna's meant to be but i think ayalen viewed her as akin to an older sister or cousin#also i think vorgoth did their best but is perhaps a little out of touch with how mortals view things#so ayalen grew up believing a lot of things that everyone else goes “what??” abt
