pizza night
Tumblr media
words: 2.2k
warnings: mentions/implications of sex but no actual smut, best friend!rafe, jealousy, angst but happy ending, friends to lovers, rafe with another girl, reader sleeps with kelce
“PIZZA NIGHT!” you shout, rafe letting out a whoop as you carry in the two boxes, plain cheese for you, and a mess of toppings for rafe.
“was worried you weren't gonna show up.” rafe glances at the clock. you're only about five minutes late, only running behind because the pizza place was busy and your order wasn't ready on time.
“as if i would miss our weekly pizza night.” you roll your eyes. you've had to shift times around occasionally to make sure you get the pizza night in, like for rafes football schedule, or you having to help your parents out at a fundraiser. for the past three years, it's been every thursday night, even both getting pizza from your respective locations while you facetime when you're not both in the outer banks.
“come here.” rafe opens his arms up to you. you step into his familiar hold, strong arms wrapping around you, tugging you against his chest. you inhale his scent, so uniquely rafe.
he's been your best friend for as long as you can remember, your parents being friends when both became pregnant around the same time. you did everything together. pizza nights started as plum puree, as your mom loves to joke.
“what do you wanna watch tonight?” rafe asks, knowing whatever you put on will soon become background noise to your chatting, rafe happy to listen to any gossip you have to say.
“umm…” you tap your finger against your chin as rafe plates your pizza for you, loading his plate with three slices for himself. you know he's already got your preferred drink sitting on the coffee table. “mulan.”
“sure.” rafe nods. he used to argue when he was younger. you'd want barbie swan lake or a romcom while he prefered superheroes and action. he learned throughout your friendship to just not fight it.
you immediately start to tell rafe the latest gossip, filling him in on everything he's missed since you saw him last, even though it was only two days ago.
“oh and you'll never guess!” you squeal. “callie, my friend from florida?” you see if the name jogs rafes memory, which he quickly nods. how could he forget. the one other friend that competes with him, despite you only seeing her for weeks at a time when you went to visit your grandparents in florida. “she's coming to the outer banks! she's gonna stay with us for the summer while her parents travel.”
“oh, nice.” rafe nods. he's happy for you, he really is, but he hopes she's not going to get in the way of his time with you, especially pizza night.
--
“girl, why didn’t you tell me rafe is hot as fuck?” callie giggles, looking out the window where rafe and a couple of his friends are chatting on the patio.
“ew.” you scrunch your nose up. you mean the criticism about callie finding him attractive, not about rafes looks, but callie doesn’t take it that way as she rolls her eyes.
“seriously, he’s so fine.” she slices into another lemon, handing one half to you as you squeeze it to make fresh lemonade.
you just frown. you don’t want callie to find rafe attractive and you’re not sure why the jealous feeling builds in your gut, so you quickly change the subject.
“wanna come to a party friday night? at kelces.” you question.
“oh my god, yes.” callie nods, helping you carry out cups while you bring out the pitcher of lemonade, pouring a glass for yourself and whichever one of your friends also wants one before sitting next to rafe.
callie takes the open spot on the other side of him as the conversation instantly strikes back up. you remain quieter than normal, eyes flicking between them as you watch them interact. you’re glad they’re getting along, truly, but you feel like gouging your eyes out when callie laughs and places her hand on his bicep.
“you okay?” rafe asks after everyone else had gone home, callie having taken your car back to your place to shower while you plan on asking rafe to drive you home.
“yeah.” you put on a wide smile. “whats up?”
“you just seem quieter than usual.” rafe watches your face carefully, noting the way your face falls before you perk back up with a shake of your head.
“nope, im fine. just glad you're getting along with callie!”
“speaking of…” rafe pulls his phone out, handing it to you. “can i have her number?”
“oh… yeah.” you nod quickly, grabbing his phone and typing in her number. you have it memorized along with rafes and your mom and dads, the only ones you’ve typed in enough to know by heart. “why do you want it though?”
“i thought i’d get to know her a bit.” rafe shrugs.
“okay.” you force a smile on your face before standing up. “im gonna walk home. see you thursday for pizza night!”
“y/n, wait-” rafe tries to call you back, but you’ve already disappeared into the house.
--
you struggle to knock on the door with the pizza boxes in your arms. usually its unlocked, or rafe is there to open it for you the second your car pulls in the driveway.
“shit.” rafe opens the door, his face pale.
“what?” you shove past him, needing to set the cardboard boxes down.
you walk into the kitchen, going to place the boxes down on the counter when you realize there is already a box sitting there, opened up with a couple slices missing. you carefully slide the boxes out of your arms onto the marble before looking at rafe.
“i-i forgot-” rafe says as you look into the living room, seeing callie sat on the couch, her eyes on the television screen as she takes a bite of pizza.
“you forgot about our pizza night?” you question, not even trying to hide your tears this time as they form in your eyes.
“i just didn’t realize it was thursday, y/n i-”
“its fine.” you shake your head, heading towards the door. you need to leave before your emotions explode.
“y/n, please.” rafe grabs your hand right as you reach for the doorknob.
“no.” you turn around to look at rafe, knowing that there are tears streaming down your cheeks, yet you still attempt to force a smile. “no, go. have fun with her.”
you pull out of his grasp and leave, rafe standing on the front porch watching you drive away.
--
“coming to the party?” callie asks, wearing a tiny dress with high heels, showing off her flawless legs.
“nah.” you shake your head. “im feeling kinda tired.”
“alright.” callie frowns, but doesn’t push you any farther as she walks towards the front door, looking back once before leaving.
you are genuinely tired. you stayed up all last night waiting to hear callie arrive back at your house from rafes. she didn’t get home until 10 in the morning the next day. you know rafe has slept with girls before, but usually when he’s way too drunk after a party, and never with a girl you considered your friend.
you turn the tv on to a random channel, just needing something to distract yourself and stop you from crying again.
hours tick by as the sun sets, your eyes burning from staring at the television and holding back tears when a sudden knock on the door makes you jump.
you stand up, hoping its rafe, hoping he’s coming to apologize and to put all his attention back on you. you feel bad when you open the door and see its topper, your face no doubt giving away your disappointment.
“y/n, are you okay?” he asks. “you aren’t at the party.” he states the obvious as you stand in your sweatpants and a flimsy tanktop.
“just not feeling it.” you shrug.
“is it… callie and rafe?” topper asks. he doesn’t need you to confirm as tears well in your eyes.
“i-i like him. i didn’t even realize until i saw them together.” you finally admit it to yourself why you’re so upset.
“shit.” topper pulls you into a hug as you cry into his shirt, glad for his comfort as he rubs his hand up and down your back, hoping he can help you feel better.
“i shouldn’t be telling you this…” topper sighs. “but kelce has a crush on you. if you want to go to the party and… i don’t know, make rafe jealous back.”
“he won’t get jealous.” you shake your head. “he likes her.”
topper just stares at you with a look of pity. so in your head about your friendship that you can’t even put together the pieces that rafe likes you back.
you look down at your outfit. honestly, you can’t even manage to put on anything other than your crocs, you’re not going to change into a dress and heels just to dance up on a guy you don’t even really like.
“just come wearing that.” topper says, sensing your apprehension. “im serious, you look good. it’ll show how different you are then all the other girls there.”
you look back into your house at your couch, the tv still turned on before looking back to topper. he nods at you with encouragement.
“i need to get drunk immediately.” you tell him as he laughs, pulling you out the door.
--
you let out a groan as you turn over, snuggling into water warm body is wrapped around you as sleep slowly clears from your head.
“good morning, beautiful.” kelce says, making you blink your eyes open as the memories of last night come back, of ignoring rafe and callie dancing together as you move to kelce. topper was beyond right about the outfit as you captured the eye of most of the guys there, especially rafe as he tried to get your attention, but you were up in kelces room before he could steal you away.
it felt good to sleep with kelce, but not completely right.
“morning.” you smile. kelce is handsome, especially with the warm morning light shining in on the two of you, but your heart hurts as you wish it was rafes face you were looking into.
“can i have you again?” kelce asks, reaching down to grab your ass.
“yeah.” you nod with a smile. another distraction won’t hurt.
--
“where were you?” rafe asks as you arrive home, not expecting to see him snuggled up to callie on the couch.
“sleeping with kelce.” you say with a shrug. if rafe isn’t gonna hide his relationship with callie, you certainly aren’t going to hide what you were doing either.
“he doesn’t care about you, y/n.” rafe stands up, callies face shifting to one of worry as she looks between the two of you, realization sinking in. “he just wants to sleep with you.”
“okay, and?” you laugh, a bitter, spiteful laugh. “he’s got a big dick, and maybe i just wanted to sleep with him too.”
you stomp away towards your room, blaring music from your speaker the second you’re inside. you don’t want to hear any noise rafe and callie might make as you flop down on your bed, quickly falling asleep despite the blaring music.
--
the music being turned down wakes you up as someone sits on your bed. you groan and turn onto your back, expecting to see rafe.
“callie?” you question, glancing at the bag slung over his shoulder and the suitcase sitting in your open doorway.
you sit up quickly. “are you going to stay with rafe?”
“no.” she says with a gentle laugh and shake of her head. “im going back to florida.”
“what?” you question.
“i didn’t mean to come between you and him. i thought you didn’t like him. i… i don’t want this to ruin our friendship, so i’m leaving. he was fun to be with, but it was never serious for either of us. he’s serious about you.”
the words sink in as you look to her with hope in your eyes. “you talked to him about it?”
“i did.” she smiles with a gentle nod, glancing towards the clock on your nightstand. “the taxi is waiting outside to take me to the airport.”
you shoot forward to wrap your arms around callie, pulling her into a tight hug. “thank you.”
“of course.” she holds you back just as tight. “come visit me in florida, okay?”
you nod enthusiastically before she gets up to leave.
--
“finally.” topper sighs with relief as he opens the door to tanneyhill. “i’ve been trying to get him to go over and talk to you for the past four hours.” topper pulls you inside before you can even react. “seriously, you guys just need to date already. he slept with callie, you slept with kelce, and now you’re even. go make out.” topper shoves you into the living room before fleeing.
it takes a second for rafe to look up, his eyes red with tears.
“i had no clue.” rafe shakes his head. “i had no clue you liked me. i never would have done anything with callie if i knew. i thought i’d never get to have you, so i thought settling for your friend would be the next best thing.”
“i don’t like you.” you say before quickly clarifying. “i love you, rafe.”
rafe is standing and making his way towards you so quickly that you don’t even process his movements until his lips meet yours in a fierce kiss.
you hesitate for a moment before kissing back, feeling his arms wrap around your body, holding you tight to him, not allowing you to escape or leave ever again.

mk so I have a couple (all are based on wonderlust so bare with)
music: Runt would have so much Lemon Demon on her playlist, she would live, breathe, and die the songs Modify and Cabinet Man. at the same time, Blink would listen to Mitski and specifically the song Icarus by Luvbug because it reminds him of his times with Aeon and Candle before the accident. Troy would listen to Femininomenon x The Greatest while steam sledding using the illegal steam speakers he had his dad invent for his sled.
hobbies: I feel like Troy had a music phase in his late teens where he convinced his dad to let him have an electric guitar or a drum set (if those even exist) and spent maybe a couple hours trying to learn it but ultimately gave up because his steam sledding schedule was too busy for hobbies. Blink would so write poetry or songs that he keeps in a journal on him at all times. how else do you think he keeps himself entertained on his various courring trips he does a week. while walking and delivering things he hums lyrics and then once he has a moment copies it into his journal. Nobody but him knows about it and he intends to keep it that way. Runt loves doing karaoke nights with Uncle Three-Strings and occasionally invites Doppler, Pinch, and the other street rats over to sing with her. Only a few can make it most times, but some of her favorite memories she has are ones where it's just her and Uncle Three-Strings. I also feel like she would hate cooking food and is really shit at it unless it's a cheese-related meal, in which case she's the girl to go to.
other things TW!! abusive parents and trauma: this is kind of sad, but Troy headcannon. The reason he shits himself so often in the show and why it's like a "normal thing" to Troy is that when he was really little (from the moment he could walk until he was old enough to not go to events) he was basically forced to go to every press conference and event with his dad and during this, he wasn't allowed to go to the restroom or really even ask. Because of this, he basically got used to having no choice but to shit himself because he would literally get like yelled at for even asking. this followed him into adulthood, and while he's better at controlling it now, when he gets in stressful situations, like the semi-finals in episode one, there's not much he can do to stop it as it's his subconsciousness's natural instinct. (end of TW here)
Holidays: All holiday parties in the trench are organized by Runt, including the Secret Santa (or whatever the trench equivalent of that is). For some reason, her gift is always to Uncle Three Strings. Each year, she saves all her money, and in the time leading up to the exchange, she goes and scours the markets for a really cool cup. In his collection of cups, Uncle Three-Strings has a special shelf with all of his precious Runt's cups on it. He has them all in order of when he got them, starting with one she made for him when she first moved in with him and leading up to the ones she got for him on her trip to the surface in episode one. I also think Runt has tried teaching Uncle Three-Strings how to make the machines she makes and has gone on hour-long tangents about it before, with Uncle Three-Strings just happily sitting there listening. Blink only has Granny Granite as family, as, after the Candle situation, not many of his family members will talk to him, let alone spend holidays with him. He goes to her shop during the holidays and eats one of the many slices of cake she hoards in her cabinets. He doesn't enjoy the holiday times as it reminds him of how much he fucked up back when he was younger, but being with Granny Granite makes him feel a little bit better about it. Troy spends his holidays at the holiday house his dad owns. He spends it practicing his steam sledding since his dad is too busy most of the time to actually spend time with him. The few holidays he hasn't spent around his absent father have been spent either drinking, with Lint, or both. Lint's family is rather nice, but he hates being a burden to them even though they've said that he isn't.
ima stop myself here even though I have more I could write because it's midnight and I think if I spend any more time writing this I'm gonna explode

Cheese
You know how there was this weird trend where parents would throw cheese at their crying baby and the baby would just shut up?
Chuuya has done this to Dazai and it was very effective.
LIKE LISTEN- Chuuya had seen the videos circulating the internet and he’s just like ‘This is my last resort in a ditch effort to shut that fishy bastard up.’ and one day he was just desperate to have some peace and quiet in his goddamn house so he can do documents and Dazai just wouldn’t be quiet so he got up, went to the kitchen, grabbed a slice of cheese, came back and just chucked it dead centre in his face.
And Dazai shut the fuck up because he could not even begin to process what the fuck just happened. Chuuya has now dubbed him a man-baby.
BEST THING IS HE STILL DOES THIS.
When the ADA and PM have a truce and are just getting things done in Chuuya’s house, everybody just wanted Dazai to be quiet for a minute, so Chuuya snuck away, got a slice of cheese, came back and suddenly it was smack dab in the middle of Dazai’s face. This shut him up instantly because he’s having war flashbacks.
Everyone just looked confused, amused or ready to laugh and then Chuuya said, “There, problem solved.” Which had all of them bursting into hysterics.
Dazai hates it when he has what they call ‘Cheese Days’. Days where it’s just a never ending 24 hours of Chuuya throwing cheese at Dazai and because Chuuya knows Dazai knows him, he tries to do it in ways he normally wouldn’t for maximum success.
It happened in the ADA once. All the members could hear was Dazai irritatedly shouting “CHUUYA!” and Chuuya laughing his ass off. Chuuya can catch him at the most impossible angles, not to mention his ability, it really doesn’t mean much when he’s using his ability to throw things at Dazai for obvious reason.
Dazai hates it, Chuuya loves it and holds onto it like a lifeline.

Chapter 14
Tumblr media
Third POV
Tumblr media
Eboni had fallen into a deep yet peaceful slumber after the events of last night. It's quite possibly the best sleep she's ever had after her parents' death. The blinding light of the sun shines through her open curtain, aimed at her closed eyes.
Groaning, the teen slowly opens her eyes, rubbing them clumsy. She tries to get up like normally but tenses, the physical effects of last night halting her. The pain first comes from between her legs, then leads to her lower back and hips.
Eboni bites her lip as she slowly moves the covers off of herself and stands, leaning against the wall for support. With each step, she's reminded of all that has happened. Eboni had given her virginity to a serial killer.
"Fucked...so fucked up.." she grumbles to herself, finally reaching the bathroom.
Eboni notices the bathtub is fill of water, steam rising from it. She moves inside, letting out a sigh of relief as her aching body quickly relaxes to the warmth of the water. She sees a note and a box of pills next to it. Eboni picks up the note and begins to read it.
"Heard a bitch's first time sucks. Read that little note of rules before fucking the shit out of you- aftercare, yeah that's it. Had places to be princess, so this will do. Be back around midnight"
-Jeff
"Right...damn.." Eboni whispers, picking up the box of pills and reading that its Plan B pills. She quickly opens it, taking one dry.
Eboni didn't feel fear. She feels excitement. After years of yearning for her fantasies to become a reality, they finally can. What makes her heart flutter are the facts that the killer doesn't seem to be disgusted by her scared face nor her vitiligo.
After what feels like an hour of soaking and washing herself, she steps out of the tub- wrapping a towel around herself and her hair. She begins her morning facial routine and then styles her hair into a low puffball with a side bang. When dry, she puts on a pink slick nightgown since she still feels so sore down below, but after the bath, it became manageable.
Eboni, of course, took note of the hickeys and bite marks over her neck and shoulders. She reaches to trace her fingers over them, an odd smile covering her features. Seeing the aftermath of Jeff's work brings a new sense of joy.
"Finally..." she whispers. Finally, marked and owned. Dreams do come true - in the most twisted of ways.
Eboni checks the time. it's five minutes til one. She begins cleaning her room, stuffing everything back into her boxes, but leaves the paper of her rules on her desk. When she was about to crawl into her bed, the door bell goes off. She tries to ignore whoever it may be, but they didn't let up on the bell.
Annoyed, she slips on her bunny house shoes and pink robe before heading downstairs to the front door. She opens it, prepared to shout at whoever it may be. Fortunately, it's just her friends and....Luna.
Frowning, Eboni stares at them blankly. "Why?"
"Cause it's the weekend, duh!" Taylor said matter of factly while forcing her way inside with two boxes of pizza.
Iris bows her head apologetically while asking to come inside. He had two small containers of boneless wings, honeygold to be excat. Eboni lets her in with a nod, glaring daggers at Luna. She could already feel the witch work her seeing magic on her.
"Watch. It." Eboni warns, noticing the drinks in her hands. "Try anything, say anything I'm kicking you the fuck out."
Luna nods her head slowly, trying not to show just how much she knew from what was shown to her through her magic, but it didn't go unnoticed by Eboni.
Eboni clicks her tongue as she walks towards her kitchen. "....I didn't say you guys could just pop up -"
"We blew ya fuckin' phone up!" Taylor defends, reaching up to grab plates and bowls.
"I was sleep.." Eboni grumbles, "and I would've - "
"Said no. Yeah, that's why we showed up. Ya say no ta' almost everythin'." Taylor grins, passing Eboni three slices of cheese pizza and a bowel of boneless wings.
Eboni grumbles, rolling her eyes. She takes a can of Sprite before gently sitting at the table. She tenses, wishing the wooden chair had a cushion. Luna and Taylor took notice, but Iris was oblivious. The blonde grins, moving to sit next to Eboni with her plate of food.
"So, who the lucky guy?"
Eboni pauses mid bite of her second slice. "....what?"
"Come on! Som' dude knocked ya off yer rocker!"
"The hickeys are showing too..." Luna said, hesitant in her response as she sat down across from the two.
Iris stays quiet but has a light dust of blush on her cheeks. She seemed embarrassed for Eboni. The teen's eye twitches at the question, staring at her food as if it's the most interesting thing at the table.
"Don't know what you're talking about." She shrugs, popping a boneless wing into her mouth.
"No reason on holdin' out on us ya know! So who-"
Eboni looks at Taylor, her eyes cold and face stoic. "You pry too much. You don't see me questioning that tramp stamp tattoo that oddly looks like this infamous gang's symbol I've been hearing so much about since being around you - am I?"
That made Taylor stop asking any more questions. The awkward tension causes everyone to eat the rest of their food in silence. Once everyone was done eating, Eboni collects the dishes and begins washing them. The awkward air didn't seem to fade until Iris offers an idea.
".....m-movie night?" She questions, smiling nervously.
Eboni sets the last plate into the draining bored, glancing at Iris as a ghost of a smile appears on her lips. "These people have a movie room down the hall. I'll make us popcorn."
"Hell yeah!" Taylor cheers, taking off down the hall.
Luna follows, but Iris stays behind to help. Eboni looks at her, chuckling a bit. "You have a way of breaking the ice."
Iris shakes her head, waiting for the first bag of popcorn to finish. "I-Its not that. I've just known Taylor for so long....she can be pretty nosy and too persistent when it comes to answers she wants. It's rude, a-and I know you must've been uncomfortable s-so... "
Eboni takes the first bag out and adds another in the microwave. She nods, letting out a sigh, "it was... my first time." She whispers faintly.
Iris gasps, her eyes as wide as salters. "Oh goodness! W-We're so sorry for coming today. I-I told them that you not answering means no B-But they didn't - "
Eboni laughs, a genuine one. She shakes her head, adding another bag. "No, it's whatever. At least you guys brought food, I was starving." The teen shrugs, grabbing two huge plastic bowls from the lower cabinets.
"O-Oh....w-well if you D-Don't mind m-me asking -"
"It was... rather intense." Eboni cuts in, knowing what Iris was about to ask. "A....good intense."
"Do you -"
"No. I dont regret it. I enjoyed every fucking second." Eboni grins, trying to contain her rather sicking joy over losing her virginity to a serial killer.
"Ah... then I-I understand.." Iris said, her face red from the embarrassing conversation.
Eboni figured that the teen is still a virgin. She places a hand on her shoulder, "When you're ready, you'll know. I promise."
Iris nods with a bit of confidence, thanking Eboni for her encouraging words. The two split the four bags of popcorn into the two bowls, one taking each into the theater room. Luna, Iris, and even Taylor agree to watching the entire saga of Twilight - much to Eboni's clear hatred for it.
After hours of torment, Eboni forces everyone to leave- making them leave the rest of the food behind for compensation. When done packing up the remaining food and cleaning the bowls, the teen starts her ascend up the stairs. Catching sight of her bedroom light brings a flutter to her heart.
"He's here..." she thought to herself, trying to rush to her room despite the lingering pain between her legs.
Eboni had to bite her lip to suppress the sound of excitement at the sight of Jeff. His hoodie is, of course, covered in fresh paint of blood. His jeans hug him perfectly and clearly show how hard he is.
Jeff was sitting on the computer desk chair, legs stretched out and back against the chair. His elbow is resting on the arm rest while he leans his head into the palm of his hand, his other arm draped lazily over his lap - with that piece of paper in hand. The smiling killer glances at Eboni from head to toe, taking in her very curvaceous body.
"I'm not a fan of waiting long, princess." He taps the ground with his boot, grinning. "On your knees."

Find A Friend
Gregory meets Cassie... twice.
Time Set: Post-SB, pre-Ruin
----------------------
When Gregory still lived in the Pizzaplex, he figured out he could sneak himself into most kids’ birthday parties by swiping a bit of merch and putting it into a gift bag at Glamrock Gifts and mimicking the usual laments of people his age to anyone who got too curious at him. It was kind of stupid; adults expected certain noises to come from kids, he made the same noises and now he’s just relegated to another face in the crowd in those adults’ minds. All it confirmed for him was that there really was no one outside the building looking for him or asking after him.
Well, whatever. Some cheap gifts to use as cover and Gregory had access to plentiful food and games for however long the party lasted. And if there were party masks, even better; they fooled the S.T.A.F.F. facial recognition so he could ask them directly for takeaway containers to store extra food in for later. It was like shopping for supplies without the stress of having to dodge the bots in the dead of night. Wasn’t like they were programmed to sound alerts if they see any form of mask after hours… ha. Whoever thought that up was a pain in Gregory’s ass; he would have liked to be able to use a Freddy mask to fool them into thinking he was an animatronic but apparently the Pizzaplex’s network was prepared for that for the security night shifts and only allowed the weird rabbit mask the employees would wear before they disappeared.
Gregory was sure somebody tried that at some point and someone else snitched. What a pain.
Anyway, the point was that birthday parties were a great time to get food, play some games, and relax for a while. Be a normal kid and hang out with other kids, forget for a little bit that his memories were a mess and his dreams were shambles and sometimes he wasn’t sure if things he experienced were real or not. Can’t have a mental breakdown while he’s busy spending FazTokens on the birthday kid’s dime, right?
Turns out he also can’t when the birthday kid was already having a crisis of their own. Overshadowing that would be kind of rude.
The birthday kid was a girl currently sobbing her eyes out in a corner of the Glamrock Salon in Roxy Raceway. Normally Gregory didn’t have any interest in this part of the Pizzaplex but the party was being held here and it was one of the last scheduled ones before the area would be closed off for renovation. Although calling it a party was being kind, really. Despite all the party favors and goodies for the special day, there was a noticeable lack of other kids celebrating or parents being attentive or concerned with that fact. He stood there with a plate of pizza, chewing on a slice and not really enjoying the cheese and not-meat toppings. How could he, when he could hear the poor kid being miserable just around the corner?
Eventually he just set the plate down, grabbed one of the nice cloth napkins, and took a deep breath before heading over to tend to the birthday kid and introduce himself. A birthday without a single friend to celebrate with was just fucked up and Gregory wasn’t going to let that stand. Something in his soul railed against it, demanded that a lonely kid shedding so many tears needed to be soothed come hell or high water. Well, he’ll just do it so he won’t feel guilty for eating her food. He hated feeling guilty for just trying to survive.
Gregory hesitated for a bit upon turning that corner, taking in the sight of brightly colored and sparkling makeup running down the girl’s face, brilliant against her complexion and terrible in how he imagined it once looked amazing when first applied by Roxy during their hangout time. Questions on how this situation came to be flicked through his mind fast and jumbled, too fast for even words to be assembled for them. But Gregory shoved it aside and just walked up to the girl, lowering himself to one knee and holding out the napkin to her, pulling on a small smile for her sake.
“Hey,” he greeted quietly, “thought you could use something to, I dunno, blow your nose or something.” The girl sniffled, looking at him in confusion before down at the napkin. “It’s clean, promise! I got it off the nice tables.”
“Who’re you?” she asked in return, rubbing at her cheek and smearing the makeup some more.
Cover stories were the worst. Could never keep them straight in his head and couldn’t count on his memories to keep track of details anyway. “Name’s Gregory, I was just passing by and heard you, so I just wanted to make sure you were okay,” he answered. Simple and honest, but still vague enough that she could fill in the blanks herself and he wouldn’t have to keep track of stuff. Best way to tell a lie was to give it the basics of a truth and let the other person think they have the full story; it was a pretty good survival trick and he was kinda proud of himself for figuring that out.
“Were you invited to my party?” the girl asked, a flicker of hope in her eyes. Gregory hesitated a moment and that was enough of an answer for her. She looked even more miserable, “Oh.” She took the napkin from him with a wispy ‘Thank you’ and dabbed at her eyes and cheeks to blot the makeup off and clean up.
He watched her from the corner of his eyes, his stomach clenching uncomfortably with his failure to cheer her up. “Hey, I don’t really get out much and I don’t really know anyone, but maybe the two of us can still make this party fun,” Gregory offered uncertainly, a crooked grin on his face. “Whaddya say, Birthday Girl? Show me around and see what trouble we can get up to?”
She laughed, a startled sound as though she hadn’t expected to find that funny, but even that was a far better reaction than more sobbing. She wiped the last of the makeup off and returned his smile with a tremulous one. “Yeah, okay. We can do something,” she said and held out a hand for him to shake, “I’m Cassie. Nice to meet you, Gregory.”
.
-----------------
.
Gregory’s first day of school had him wary of the number of kids around him at almost all times. Part of him wondered if he would lose his mind trying to keep track of them from a threat that wasn’t even in the building. Forcing himself to not count them, to not track their locations, gave him a headache and made his eyes burn. Introducing himself to his new classmates, using the cover story of having ‘just moved’ which was true enough as he and Vanessa and Freddy and Sydney ‘moved’ from living inside the Pizzaplex to living outside of it, was stressful enough without having to cope with his old habit of checking the number of kids around him to see if Mrs. Afton grabbed any of them for her Remnant experiments.
Lunchtime was the first time he could get relief, sitting outside in a shady and mostly secluded area to press the heels of his palms to his eyes and hope things calmed down enough to let him eat. His head throbbed, painful enough that he almost wanted to cry. Maybe he could get to the nurse and ask to call home. Surely Vanessa would be okay with him coming back early to rest up, right?
“Looks like you’re getting out more, huh?” a familiar voice remarked and Gregory jerked his head up in surprise. He blinked as he looked towards the source of that voice and found the birthday girl he helped out leaning against the tree he sat under. “So, ‘just moved’, huh? Got everyone fooled but I remember you spending my birthday with me at the Pizzaplex some time ago,” she said with a grin, “What’s the real story, Gregory?”
“Cassie?!” Gregory exclaimed with wide eyes. Holy crap, she went to this school too?! Why didn’t he think of that sooner, they were about the same age, right?
“He remembers my name!” Cassie declared with a laugh, raising her hands as if to cheer for the achievement before drawing closer to sit beside him, “It’s been ages and I looked for you in school after my birthday but nobody here ever heard of you before today. Where the heck were you?”
“Around,” Gregory replied evasively, swallowing hard as he tried to think of what to say to get himself out of this mess. How did he forget about her until now? The implant, did the thing connecting him to the Pizzaplex network also force him to forget Cassie existed too? Now he doesn’t even have time to pull together a new cover story!
“Yeah? But where? This is the only school for this area and you weren’t here,” she pressed and tilted her head, her pigtails bobbing with the motion, “Were you home-schooled for a while? Is that why you enrolled late here?”
Well, Vanessa had him doing workbooks at home to prepare him for the placement tests and Alex was teaching him about programming to better protect Freddy, so that sounded about right. “Kinda? Vanessa did her best but she said I needed to be social too so here I am.” That sounded good, played into the home-schooling but hinted a reason to switch to public school without making Vanessa sound bad for their situation.
“You’re not doing very good at socializing, hiding all the way over here,” Cassie pointed out, giving him a small frown, “Are you okay? You don’t look good. Thinking of calling your mom and dad to come get you?” Gregory sighed, pressing his hands to his eyes and forehead again. That did sound tempting, though a little amusing to imagine Freddy pulling up to school to take him home. Would be nice to have that, though; maybe Mr. Woods and Mr. Fitzgerald could make a casing for Freddy that could have him look like something other than an animatronic bear?
“I want to, but Vanessa’s out looking for work,” he admitted. Sydney was doing the same since he didn't want to take back his old job and Alex still worked at Circus Baby’s on the day shift so he wouldn’t be able to just run over to get him, if he even would. Gregory still was kind of iffy on Sydney and Alex sticking around but they seemed more invested in him and Vanessa now compared to when they all first met. Either way, they were all doing stuff and Freddy couldn’t leave the house, so Gregory was stuck.
“Is that your mom?” Cassie asked and he nodded. He tried calling her ‘Mom’ a few times, but it still felt awkward. He wanted it to feel normal; Gregory had stayed in the Pizzaplex to save her, had a gut feeling he wanted to get his family back but the connection seemed flimsy at best now. So calling her Vanessa again was all he could do and it seemed the most comfortable for them both. “No dad, huh? I can get it,” Cassie went on, picking at the grass, “I didn’t have a mom, just my dad. But then he disappeared so now my grandma looks after me.” She looked around at the field of kids eating lunch or hanging out. “Lotta people disappear in this town, it’s super weird. I kinda thought you were one of them since I didn’t see you after my birthday.”
“Yeah, sorry about that. Like I said, I didn’t get out much,” Gregory replied with a dry laugh. His headache was waning and things felt less fuzzy now. Maybe he could just ask the nurse for something to take for the rest of the headache and he could finish the day.
“I can tell. You didn’t look too comfortable being in crowds in the hallway,” Cassie pointed out, setting her backpack down and pulling out her lunchbox. Roxy’s face smiled up at her from the lid and Gregory blinked at it in surprise. It was jarring to see Roxy as she was before that night in the Pizzaplex, glamorous and bold until he shattered her body and her self-confidence to swipe her upgraded parts for Freddy’s use.
He actually felt bad for her now. Sure in the moment of the night he was pissed off enough at the band for hunting him down that wrecking them felt deserved, but those were still Freddy’s friends and it was Afton who made them nasty and scary. If he could get their chips, maybe look into their programming and fix what Afton did, they would be their real selves again. Maybe that’ll be enough to make up for smashing them up.
“Roxy fan, huh?” he asked just for something to fill the silence as he pulled out his own lunchbox, “I’m team Freddy, just saying.” He grinned at Cassie’s giggle as the two of them got into their lunches.
“She’s my favorite. So cool and pretty and her keytar skills are amazing!” she rambled excitedly before her cheer dimmed, “It really sucks that the Pizzaplex got so wrecked by that earthquake. I know it got closed beforehand for some kind of renovation or investigation or something, but it still sucks that we can’t see the band perform anymore.”
“Maybe we’ll see them again someday?” Gregory said thoughtfully, already turning over potential ways to get into the Pizzaplex. Sydney had more access to the building when Mrs. Afton was controlling him, and Alex was really good with computers and hacking. Plus all those people that showed up at the Pizzaplex had ways of getting into the building for Circus Baby and Knife Lady. With him and Freddy and Vanessa helping with mapping out the inside, could they get into the Pizzaplex and recover the rest of the band?
“I hope so. My dad used to work there, so it’d be nice to see everything there again,” Cassie told him with a sad smile, “It felt like he was with me when I visited. Now it’s gone and it just… it really sucks.”
Gregory swallowed, his food losing flavor from that reveal. Cassie’s dad was a Pizzaplex employee? But all of them had been replaced by S.T.A.F.F. bots except for Vanessa and Sydney, and he’d been through that employee cafeteria where he picked up that company memo about a staff meeting. Did her dad end up there? Only way to know for sure would be to get into the Pizzaplex records in the servers.
“Well, forgetting all that for now,” Cassie suddenly remarked with false brightness, holding her sandwich tightly, “just wanted to welcome you to our school! It’s pretty cool, we have field trips sometimes and on Fridays we have pizza, tacos, or burgers for lunch, but we can bring our own lunches still. And the library has computers with games on them for the free period after lunch. Wanna go check it out after we eat?”
“Sure! Sounds fun,” Gregory agreed, warming up to the idea of actually being a regular kid at school. “It’s good to see you again, Cassie.” Finding her on her birthday, hanging out and playing all that time, and then making sure from the shadows that she left the Pizzaplex safely, and then feeling sad when she didn’t come back very often in ways that would let him go out to see her… it wasn’t until now that Gregory realized he had missed being able to just hang out with the first friend he ever made.
Cassie smiled back at him, bright and happy. “Always good to find a friend,” she agreed, laughing as she nudged his shoulder with her own, “Now hurry up and eat so we can get some spots on the computers!”
Maybe this public school thing wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Pizzapeople
HI!!! Relating to the post "pizzahead brainrot", I've made up a lot of stuff about Pizzapeople, which is the race that Totino is.
OK SO HERE WE GO
Like humans, Pizzapeople have a scientific name, which is homopanem, literally meaning "man of bread/bread man/man bread"
General biology:
Pizzapeople are made from pizza ingredients, like you'd expect. Instead of human skin, they have cheese. Instead of blood, they have tomato sauce. Dough/bread takes the place of a muscle structure, and for their "skeletal structure" it is basically just stale/hardened dough. However, because stale bread isn't very reliable as a skeletal structure, pizzapeople are prone to injuries, so they are usually a lot more cautious.
For the most part, their bodies don't have toppings on them, however, their faces do, which in case it serves as facial features. An example is Totino having a tomato for a nose and pepperoni as his cheek blush, and Giorgio (Pizzaface) having pepperoni for eyes and green pepper slices as his eyebrows and mouth. Toppings can serve as many different things, as example, a pepperoni slice could be a pizzaperson's eyes, or a mushroom could be their nose.
Diet:
Pizzapeople are an herbivorous species, they eat mostly fruits and vegetables (save for the ones that are used on pizza, which don't exist where they're from.) They obviously don't eat cheese, bread, or anything that could be found on a pizza, which honestly restricts their diet a lot. However, hypothetically a pizzaperson could just live off of bush leaves if they really want to. They're immune to poisonous plants due to being herbivorous.
Reproduction:
Pizzapeople are asexual. They can reproduce on their own, let me explain: If a pizzaperson takes a chunk off of themselves, usually has to include cheese, dough, and sauce, the chunk will eventually evolve into an exact clone of the pizzaperson. Heat is needed for a pizzaperson to be created, such as an oven, or possibly a fire. (However, caution is advised because they could burn, or their cheese-skin could melt off.) If a pizzaperson chooses to reproduce an offspring with a partner, both pizzapeople would have to take a chunk off themselves and combine said chunk. Like humans, the offspring would inherit the same physical appearance as their parents. (Example: Totino's mother has a tomato as a nose, and so does he.) Colors may also be randomized.
Sex (such as male or female) does not exist within the world of pizzapeople, also meaning they don't have sexual organs. (I FUCKING HATE SEX, RAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!) Upon creation, pizzapeople do not have defining physical traits that align to a gender, instead they are completely androgynous and their gender identity develops over the few months. During this period, they don't have a set name.
Gender identity:
Since pizzapeople don't have a preconceived concept of gender or sex, they are largely a genderfluid species, and regularly pursue romantic relationships with people of the same gender identity, because that's just normal to them.
Fragility:
During younger years, pizzapeople are more prone to physical injury. As they get older, they become more impervious to physical damage. Example: A pizzaperson who is 20 years old would most likely die from a stab wound or two, where one who is 50 or so would most likely, 96% be fine.
Regenerating:
Pizzapeople heal pretty fast, and their healing rate increases with age. Generally, simply resting and taking care will help the regeneration process. However if they are too heavily injured, putting them in a heat source, such as an oven, will significantly speed up the healing process, and will make them stable enough to function properly.
Melting/Breaking Apart:
Pizzapeople and their bodies are definitely not equipped to handle excess levels of stress/fear. Due to this, if they are under extreme stress, or extremely scared, their skin will start to melt off. In more intense cases, their skin will melt off from their muscle (dough) and they will bleed profusely. In extremely severe cases, all of the above will happen, but their muscle (dough) and skeletal structure (stale/hardened dough) will begin breaking apart.
Rebuilding/rebaking:
Pizzapeople can be reconstructed if their bodies are too broken beyond repair. In their world, they have medical personel who have the knowledge to rebuild them, but however in Peppino's dimension (which is basically the same dimension as Earth.) they don't. If they aren't rebuilt soon, they'll die. Simple as. However, if this *does* happen, take them to a pizzaiolo (if they aren't too horrified of seeing a mangled humanized pizza corpse) and they can fix them.
(IF I HAVE ANY MORE IDEAS I WILL UPDATE THIS THING BUT I'VE EXHAUSTED MY BRAIN)

You said you've been writing down (or rather, typing up) whatever comes to your head when you first wake up. Would you be comfortable sharing some of the things you've written?
Sure, I see no harm in that. Some of the dates are a bit off due to me forgetting what days I had or had not accounted for.
Also, this will probably have a “read more” section bc this is LONG.

My thoughts get louder at night. Just when I think things are changing.

vent :( (tw: 3d)
i feel so gross rn
i ate over 1000 calories and i tried making up for it a little bit by burning off calories (burned 402) but that left only a little over 1000 still, but it gets worse bc idek why i did this but i had some chocolate and even then i went back to the kitchen and ate toast with cream cheese and sliced ham, tomorrow im going to restrict more and try burn more calories by walking (my watch tracks it), on the upside tho tomorrow is a new day and i dont think i went over my limit (1500cals), but even so i try stick around 800cals per day bc its whats easy for me atm (planning to restrict bit by bit but im going easy on myself since ive gotten used to eating whenever i want bc of summer).
i will get over this and i will do better tomorrow, i have to, for myself this is what i need to do. its my choice and i need to stick with that
also the reason i ate so much was bc i made brownies for my family and i ate some, i was meaning not to, im going to bake again soon and my willpower will be stronger next time. i have my safe foods in my room (obvi ones that dont need the fridge) so there will be NO NEED for me to eat anything i bake. i do enjoy baking and guiltily i do enjoy the idea of feeding my family sweet treats while i nibble at my safe food, might take a bite or something so its not weird but i dont want to be the bigger sibling anymore i fucking hate it, i dont want to be the 'normal' sized one when compared to my sister whos skinnier than me. i wanna be the skinny one, idec if thats selfish its just the truth. its so confusing too, she (my sister) says she wants to put on weight, go the the gym and gain muscle or whatever but i just wanna be thin (trying to avoid being skinnyfat obviously :/) but genuinely its so frustrating it feels like ive been stuck in a body that isnt mine, even if im not described as fat im not described as being skinny and it literally upsets me, as childish as it sounds idrc, and this is literally the ONLY way i can even share these thoughts, if anyone knew how i felt theyd think im stupid or weird, probably try tell me i dont need to change how i look, but i NEED to take control, i am sick and tired of being the way i am, i miss having my child body, i miss it so fucking much, i dont know if its because im trans(ftm) or if its because i used to be super skinny as a kid, beautiful legs that i was complimented on and i enjoyed the fact my ribs were visible, but as soon as puberty hit it all went downhill, in locker rooms people would comment that i was skinny and i liked it but that seemed to happen less and less, like have i gotten fat now?? does everyone think im chubby???? maybe im fucking fat and i dont even see it im gonna cry, jesus christ i fucking hate everything.
it makes it so much worse when my sister calls me fat, ik i just said that no one calls me fat but its weird. my sister calls me fat to make me upset, she usually tells me that during arguments, its made me cry so much. like example: i was on holiday recently with my family (dad, mum, sister, me) we were unloading our stuff from the car and my dad told me to put away the food and during the drive my sister and i were arguing the whole time, and when my sister saw me sorting out the food she said "of course youre at the food, fucking fatass" and i literally had to point out to my parents that she was making fun of me literally in front of them, like yeah my mum was all like "dont say that" to her but that doesnt fucking do anything, and my sister just kept going, and my dad had to step in and tell her to stfu and said that if anything i was underweight, but it felt like such a fat lie, especially when my sister IS skinnier than me, it really drives me crazy but at the same time its almost motivating, like i just wanna be sick, i wanna be sickly thin and gross to look at, i miss how i felt when i was skinny, when my legs were so skinny, i miss the compliments i got on my skinny body, for a while i believed i could never get that back but now ik its possible to be skinny again i just need to keep it up, ik i can be super skinny again and i WILL BE, i HAVE to be, theres no other option for me i need it more than anything, i dont care about anything else atm i just want to be thin

medical
had a doctor appointment on the phone today because i still had the flu and it was just to go over my blood results, all my hormones are normal, or like, yknow for a cis person so my dosage situation is fine
dont have cancer or diabetes or any thyroid issues or organ problems
do have high cholesterol though which i predicted, he was like maybe cool it on the meat and dairy and get some exercise. im still hoping that doing exercise will cover a lot because ive set up a routine to get back to i just have to stop being sick first
but he mentioned fish like salmon is a really good kind of meat to eat a lot if i need something to replace what i currently eat and i thought that was funny bc orins parents get fucking boatloads of salmon gifted to them by someone they run books for and they end up giving a bunch to us all the time
i think the diets mostly good i dont really eat a lot of like cheese or chicken skin or fatty meat except recently i was like i should start eating salami slices as a snack since thats somewhat cheap and filling but i guess those and croissants are gonna have to stop
its so annoying trying to be healthy AND frugal while allergic to everything and also autistic picky
big thing is probably chocolate and ice cream which i already wanted to cut down on bc i dont actually crave it much, i just use it for extra energy when i need it, im not sure what a good solution for thatll be bc its not like i can replace it with yogurt or salami like i said

Horror Prompt: You decide to get away from it for a few hours and go picnic for lunch out in a field. it’s broad daylight and you consume. but the field is consuming you too.
You slice your finger on a broken jar of jam. Packing a whole charcuterie board of cheese, cured meat, and sweets felt excessive to say the least. You thought it necessary to do so. Try something different for once.
Nothing seemed to be working quite right. From overworked parents to high-strung friends, your problems seemed minimal. You made the decision to work alone. Secluded at a year-long residency doing, well, nothing. Inspiration hasn’t hit you since you touched the older grounds here. The residency felt all too desolate. Empty of personality. Void of personhood. It was a perpetually blank canvas you never wished to capture through a lens.
‘It all looked so much better in the photos,’ you thought.
But the intent was to build a reliable network for freelance work as a photographer. Your job was just taking pictures— at least— that’s what other’s assumed. There was no reason to let the new surroundings get to you.
So, you searched up a tutorial for making charcuterie boards, grabbed your thickest blanket, and turned off your phone. The thought of bringing a camera along made you sick. You bandaged your wound and went on your walk.
The trek to the park wasn’t treacherous. In fact, it was all too easy given the desire path leading towards busy picnic tables. Populated with locals and other artists. Normally, you wouldn’t mind socializing with everyone else but the pressure of living here plus being a creative genius like the others was too great.
Your chest squeezes. Feet planted into the ground, gripping your basket with nerves buzzing wildly. You shake your head and your eyes land on a not so popular pathway. You make a steady dash over to the bushes.
A glimpse of yellow wildflowers sprinkled through an empty field came into view just over the brush. The sun shimmered over the sage green grass. It was charming to say the least and completely quiet. Plus, it wasn’t so far off from the others you couldn’t call for help. Just in case of… who are you kidding? You were more likely of being kicked out of residency than being killed in plain sight. You preferred the latter over the former.
You spread your blanket on the ground and your basket right after. It felt good to be in the moment. The fresh air and silence would be enough to refresh the creativity you’ve been missing.
You take in the sight and thank your lucky stars for not having to go far. Just a few steps beyond the house. You lay on your back for a minute to watch the clouds, but your eyes land on the petrified tick dangling from a wildflower petal. Immediately, you feel your skin crawl and sit up to get started on your board.
The arrangement you learned wasn’t complex but it was visually pleasing. Nice to look at. Pleasant to eat. You pop a cracker into your mouth then pour glass of wine. You lean back against your hand and watch the clouds. The cut on your finger begins to throb. You change your grip on the glass and it worsens.
You sit up again to check your finger. It’s bleeding again. Again? You just stopped the blood. Did you though? You’re no doctor. You don’t really know what the fuck you did, but the determination to leave made more sense than a wasted hospital visit.
The blood soaks through. You remove your bandage to stop the blood one more time. You, thankfully, kept spares in your pocket and made sure to stop the bleeding before bandaging before. You knew better than to litter but what you witnessed was odd. The trash you knew would fly into the gentle breeze didn’t move. But your bandage did. The gauze you used to stop the blood did. It belonged to the field now.
You feel a thick crawling up your throat. You decide to shake off whatever conspiracy level paranoia wanted to make of your relaxing day. You feel ungrateful. Here you were. Outside under the autumn sun where it was warm and the breeze was cool. Perched on a thick woven blanket you grabbed on a road trip years ago. Sipping on cheap, but refreshing red wine. Smearing soft cheese on a cracker. This was picturesque. A moment you’re meant to soak in. But like a scared dog, your hackles are raised with your hair standing on end.
A tremor in the belly snaps you out of your senses. You shift in position. Now determined to decorate your charcuterie board. After few minutes, you start to get into the pattern you made on the board and set your half-drunk wine glass aside it. You take in the sight again. A soft smile graces your face.
A soft and loud ‘hey’ reaches you. Your head swivels in the direction of the sound then around you. It was very obvious you were alone. The shout came from the other side of the brush where the picnic tables were. Your mind wanders into a bitter state.
Everyone else seemed make deeper connections with the residents here, managing to get offers in higher places. You felt foreign. Something to be enjoyed, but purged after. Your mind goes back to the wine-tasting orientation when you first arrived.
How the group you came with chatted you up and you foolishly believed this time would be different. Everyone seemed to like you or wanted to be acquainted with you. You made jokes that made them laugh, asked about themselves. Put in effort to listen to details. They were interesting people interested in you and still talk to you now, but always run off with someone else. Invite someone else to lunch or drinks or just converse. Everyone blended in but you. Spitting out into buckets to cleanse their palette and move on to the next best thing.
You made sure to put on the dress you’ve been dying to wear. You even splurged on a Moncler coat. What were you doing wrong? The truth is you did nothing wrong. People had their own interests and goals to seek out. Not you alone. So what the fuck was your problem?
You realize you’ve been staring in the direction of the tables for too long. Your board was starting to sweat. Interestingly enough, no bugs were harassing you for your food. But the attention you placed on the tables was important. The whole time you walked here, you could hear the chatter and laughter and acceptance of them. In the field, you couldn’t. It was completely silent. An island. A paradise with no sound. The breeze touched you, but the rustling leaves were muted.
The truth is you didn’t want to be here. Not in this field. Not away from people. You came to connect. You were connecting but it wasn’t enough. Inspiration became lost to you the moment you set foot here impressing people in khaki shorts. Taking pictures. You could take pictures anywhere. You were good at it. That’s why you made it in with a bunch of college grads while all you could afford was Moncler on layaway. You came here because you thought it would legitimize you. Help you break into a place where black women like you weren’t allowed.
But really, deep down, you wanted acceptance. To be loved. For your talent. For your beauty. For you. All the jealousy and rage you bottled up over the years, couldn’t be directed into your love life. Your social life in general. There were lighter girls, prettier girls with straight hair and thin noses. You pushed it all onto career success. You wanted the Earth to swallow you whole after a thought like this.
All the success you chased and achieved. Your family was proud you dared to be different. You didn’t limit yourself— you were physically incapable of ever doing so. But all the striving and fighting to be in higher places came from not feeling desired in the ones you were already in.
You were foreign to your own environment. You were un-consumable. Whether you were medicine or poison depended on the person. It made you sick knowing you were treated like solely poison.
Surroundings whirled and spun around you. Pale greens grew richer in tone and color. Those yellow wildflowers you spotted turned a rich indigo. Muted sounds now vibrant. Tick still petrified, but the crawling on your hand forced you to look down. A black widow crawled across the hand that propped you up. You stayed still to let her pass.
The breath you gave was the breath the field took. The blood you spilled, the field drank. The stress you relieved, it took.
You stood leaving the picnic you set up behind. Wine and all. You had no intention of ever coming back. You would return to your room, pack your bags, and pocket your stipend to leave. Not to return home, but to find a new one.
A home will give to you just as the field did. Like you did.
Author’s Note: Hey girl heyyyy!💖 I came up with this prompt a few days back for my friend @jaythajujubae but I liked the concept so much I wanted to play with it myself. Took me a min to come up with something good. So here she is! If you wanna use this prompt, remember to credit/tag me! XOXO

I want her to be mine Part 2
Kuina x OC (female OC)
word count: 3.6k
part 1
TW: Death; Niragi (Yes, I’m including Niragi as a trigger now, even though he is very ooc here and OC’s best friend); harrasment, sexual harrasment mention, bullying, gun play
The next morning Ino woke up before sunrise, Niragi was still sleeping as she got out of the bed. She slipped out of her nightgown and put on a nice red bikini and her shorts. She wouldn’t wear a shirt today. She wanted to show some skin for Kuina. She strapped on her thighholster with the knive and her hipholster with her handguns and quickly brushed through her hair.
She took the elevator to Kuinas floor and silently entered her room. The girl was still sleeping. She looked so pretty and peaceful. For a moment she considered letting her sleep, then she shrugged her shoulders and ripped open the curtains. Kuina groaned, pulling the covers over her head, making Ino chuckle. Kuina tensed up. Slowly uncovering her head and turning to Ino.
“What the fuck”, she whispered, sitting up.
“I told you I will find you”, Ino said laughing, “The early bird catches the worm, and you my pretty little princess”, she walked up to the bed cupping Kuinas cheek, “are the worm.”
Kuina looked up to her with shock widened eyes.
“Come on, princess. Get dressed”, Ino said, “I have plans for us.”
She waited infront of the door as Kuina was getting dressed. It didn’t take long for Kuina to step out of the room, dressed in her blue bikini.
“Great”, Ino said, taking Kuinas hand, and leading her to the elevator, “So, this is going to be really awkward if you don’t like girls”, she said, as they got off the elevator and walked the steps up to the roof, “But I prepared us breakfast.”
The last part sounded more like a question. She had sat up a little breakfast picknick on the middle of the rooftop. It looked cosy. She had given it her best. A white blanket was laid out and she had been to the kitchen and gotten fresh fruit, cheese, and bread. A bottle of some expensive champaign was sitting in the middle and she had even found two flutes.
Kuina observed the scene infront of her, then she turned to Ino.
“Why?”, she asked.
Ino shrugged, “You’re pretty. You seem intelligent. I like looking at you.”
Kuinas mouth was slightly open.
“What?”, she asked, with a confused look on her face.
“Oh”, Ino said, “You don’t like girls?”
“I do”, Kuina answered, still looking confused, “But why did you do this?”, she pointed to the blanket.
“I just said I like looking at you”, Ino answered, walking over to the blanket and sitting down.
“So, this is a date?”, Kuina asked surprised, taking a step towards the blanket, “I thought you’re with Niragi? Or that he at least kills everyone you dance with for some other reason.”
“He is my best friend”, Ino clarified, “and he has graciously agreed to let you live if you ever”, she paused a moment, “danced with me.”
“Glad to know that my live is not on the line”, Kuina laughed, sitting down on the blanket, “You’re not so bad to look at yourself.”
Ino smiled, filling the flutes with champagne and dropping a single strawberry in each before handing one to Kuina. She took the flute, her gaze fixated on Inos guns. Realizing that the guns were making Kuina uncomfortable she slowly unbuckled her holster and put it down infront of Kuina.
“You don’t have to be here if you’re uncomfortable”, she explained slowly, “If you stay, you can keep the guns as long as you’re here. I just want to talk to you.”
“About what?”, Kuina asked, slowly taking a sip of her champagne.
“I don’t know. I’m just assuming that I will like listening to you talking just as much as I like looking at you.”
Kuina smiled, “Is this me paying you back for yesterday?”, she asked.
“Yes, but you don’t need to stay”, Ino said, not wanting to gaslight her into having breakfast with her, “If you want to leave; I will count the debt as paid.”
Kuina took a slice of bread and a piece of cheese, “This looks good.”, she said, taking a bite of the cheese.
“I’m sorry that it isn’t a more traditional breakfast”, Ino apologized, “I don’t like eating hot stuff on warm days and it wouldn’t have paired well with the champagne. I really did my best to find this champagne – it was my parents favorite.”
“Its good”, Kuina said, taking another sip and examining the bottle, “looks expensive.”
“Thank god for the apocalypse. I didn’t have to pay for it”, Ino laughed, picking up a raspberry and popping it in her mouth.
“Do you miss your parents?”, Kuina asked, watching the bubbles in her champagne float up.
“Of course. We were”, she stopped, correcting herself, “are very close. This little bird never really left the nest”, she laughed, “I lived just around the corner from them after moving out and even worked at my father’s firm. We were basically together all day. It’s weird not to have them around all the time. That’s why Niragi is always with me. He is the only one who I know I can trust.”
Kuina was swirling her drink around in the flute, still watching the bubbles, “This has great bubbles”, she mumbled.
“Do you miss your parents?”
Kuina halted, “I miss my mother”, she answered, “She is in the hospital and needs my help to even relieve herself. That’s why I need to get back to the real world as soon as possible.”
Looking at her number, she sighed, “11 is not that far away, I guess”, she said, looking down at her own number, she was the number five. Five was better than eleven.
“What about your father?”, she asked, after a moment of silence.
“We don’t really talk”, Kuina answered, focusing back on her bread, “That’s nice bread.”
“I made it”, Ino said smiling, “I got up very early and I thought a breakfast at 4 in the morning would be overkill.”
“Wow, you really are an early bird”, Kuina laughed, “Do you always wake up so early?”
“No, I guess I was just a bit nervous.”
They went silent for a moment.
“How did you get the scar?”, Kuina asked one hand slowly extending her hand to her cheek before stopping, leaving her hand hanging in the air.
It was Inos turn to tense up. Her hand instinctively went to her collarbone where the scar was the reddest and thickest. It was a mess. She hated it. She hated it. She hated it. Grabbing her holsterbelt she stood up.
“Was nice talking to you”, she said, walking to the staircase.
“What?”, Kuina groaned, “No.”
Ino stopped, “No?”
“We’ll talk about something else”, Kuina said, “just don’t run away.”
“I was not running away”, Ino said one hand on the handle to the door.
“I think you are”, Kuina said, standing up and walking over to the other woman, “You don’t have to talk about it. Let’s talk about something else. How did you make this bread?”
“I made it according to my favorite recipe. It’s a wonder that I still remember it”, Ino laughed, “It’s a pretty easy recipe.”
Kuina was just about to open her mouth to praise the bread, as the door opened and Niragi stepped out on the roof.
He was casually lighting a cigarette, his gaze lazily taking in the two girls sitting on the blanket.
“You really are trying, huh?”, he asked, plopping down next to Ino and taking her champagne and gulping it all down.
“Hey”, Ino said, playfully hitting his arm, “That was mine.”
He didn’t react to that, he was watching Kuina. Inos guns were laid out infront of Kuina and the girl looked distraught.
“I wouldn’t have thought that that is your type”, he said, still watching Kuina, “I thought the kind of girl you like was more like Chrissy. She and Chrissy have nothing in common.”
“They’re both pretty and I think Kuina would not have a problem with hitting you if you’re being mean, just like Chrissy did”, Ino said, smiling at the thought of her ex-girlfriend.
“Who is Chrissy?”, Kuina asked.
“A total bimbo”, Niragi answered, “and her ex.”
“She is a bimbo who used her social media following to talk about misogyny, anti-capitalism and loving yourself”, Ino explained, “We broke up a year ago, I don’t know why Niragi is bringing her up now.”
“She is the last girl you dated”, Niragi shrugged, “and it has been all dicks before and after. I don’t have any other girls to compare her to. I really liked Chrissy.”
“Then don’t”, Ino said, shrugging, “Also, Chrissy would’ve punched you for comparing people the way you do.”
Rolling his eyes Niragi took a piece of bread and some butter. Ino grabbed his rifle, putting it on top of her own guns. Niragi groaned but didn’t say anything.
“Sooo”, Ino said, “Kuina, do you want to explore New Tokyo later?”
“I already have plans with Chishiya, maybe sometime else?”, Kuina hadn’t had a bite since Niragi arrived, she was just sitting there, watching them tensely.
Niragi scoffed, but Ino started talking before he had the chance to say something, “Sure, let me know whenever.”
“We don’t have time for that anyway”, Niragi said, pulling a piece of paper out of his pants pocket, “Aguni is sending us out to the city.”
Ino grabbed the paper and unfolded it. It was a list of things they needed. Mostly medicine and food.
“We should go to the company, we have most of the medical stuff there and I don’t believe anyone could’ve scavenged that”, Ino said, “Kuina, it was really nice to talk to you. Feel free to approach me anytime you want.”
With that she stood up, grabbed her holster and disappeared through the door. Sneaking another piece of bread Niragi followed her.
“Did you have to barge in like that?”, she asked Niragi, as he finally appeared next to her in the elevator, “I was trying to get to know her.”
“She is no Chrissy”, Niragi commented.
“Nobody is Chrissy. That doesn’t mean that Kuina is not just as nice and worth of loving.”
“You don’t know her.”
“That’s why I was trying to get to know her!”
They had arrived at her father’s old company. A tall glass building with the words Yamanaka Gaming written in bold letters over the door. Normally the words would glow, right now, without electricity it looked sad. Ino could feel a knot forming in her throat. She tried to ignore it, wrapping her arm in her jacket and punching the glass door a couple of times before it shattered into a million crystals.
“Come on”, she said, ducking into the building, “You take the infirmary on the 15th floor, I’ll go to the executive floor.”
“What do you think you’ll be able to cross off the list on the executive floor?”, Niragi asked with a grimace.
“If the beaches generators still work, that could mean that ours do too”, she announced.
“And what good will that do? Do you wan to continue making that game?”
She rolled her eyes. She had stayed awake day and night working on the game. She never got to finish it. She would never get to finish it.
“There’s some stuff I want to get”, she answered, “I`ll help you check the cafeteria after that.”
Niragi nodded. They had had personal belongings there. He and Ino and everyone in her family. He didn’t blame her that she wanted to retrieve some. He watched as she went behind the reception desk and started to fumble with something under the desk. The lights flickered on.
“See, the generator works”, she smiled, “we can even use the elevator.”
They didn’t spend much time in the company, having found the medicine, many packets of instant noodles and ramen, and some personal belongings, they left the building and drove with a fully packed car back to the beach. Ino smiled as she handed Niragi her fathers watch. It had belonged her grandfather before and she knew her parents would’ve laughed to give it to their son in law on their daughter’s wedding day. They had hoped for the longest time that Niragi would be that son in law. They had felt betrayed then they found out that Niragi would stay her best friend but neither of them was planning to marry the other.
“Really?”, he asked, taking the watch.
“It’s what they wanted”, Ino shrugged.
“Shouldn’t you give this to the love of your life?”
“You know how I feel, Niragi”, she said, watching the streets of Tokyo pass by, “I love you. I have never loved anyone as much as I love you. I just don’t love you the way my parents would’ve liked me to.”
She really did love him. He was her best friend. They had been together for a decade now. If she had believed in soulmates she would be sure that he was hers. The love she was feeling was not romantic. It was just love.
“I love you too”, he said, his voice solemn, “That’s why I don’t like the idea of you being with Kuina.”
Ino groaned, “If you continue bringing up the subject, I will get really mad. We were having a good time until you arrived.”
“But don’t you need someone you can have a good time with then I am with you?”, Niragi asked, “I had to break up with that girl because you didn’t like her.”
“She was a dick”, Ino groaned.
As they finally arrived back at the beach Ino simply exited the car, without taking anything but her personal belongings. The others would help Niragi get everything else inside.
She walked straight to her room and started unpacking. She had taken some clothes, some jewelry and a picture of her family. Smiling she placed the picture frame on her nightstand and grabbed the short pink dress she had taken. Chrissy had called that her bimbo dress. Its deep carmen cut didn’t leave much to the imagination and it barely reached the middle of her thighs. She took out the makeup supplies she had taken with her. Drawing on some dramatic winged eyeliner and coloring her lips red like blood, she put her black hair in a dark ponytail, admiring herself in the mirror. She looked great. She hoped Kuina would think the same. Putting on her sneakers, she made her way to the pool. All eyes were on her. The diamonds on her neck were sparkling in the light.
It didn’t take long for her to spot Kuina. She was sitting alone, her plastic cigarette between her lips like always. Ino didn’t want to approach her. She was afraid of coming on too strong. She had told Kuina to come to her. She would wait. She didn’t want the woman to feel trapped. She walked to the bar and ordered a Zombie, her favorite cocktail.
“What’s the occasion”, she heard a voice beside her.
She turned, seeing Last Boss waiting for his drink. The tattooed man was not smiling, but she had only seen him smile then he was getting excited about killing something or someone. It was a good thing that he was not smiling.
“I’m going to get laid”, she answered, making Last Boss quirk his brow.
“By whom?”
“Don’t know. We’ll see.”
Last Boss smirked, but he didn’t say anything else, took his drink and disappeared. Ino shrugged. Seems like it wouldn’t be him who fucked her tonight. She hated being so needy, but she really needed someone to spoil her. She was already on her third drink, as her eyes landed on Kuina again. No. She would not approach her. Kuinas gaze met hers. She watched her stand up and walk in her direction. She could feel her gut clench in anticipation. She wanted to get to know her. She wanted her to not be a mere one night stand. Yet she was so needy. God. All this neediness could only mean that she would get her period soon. She had looked for her birth control pills but couldn’t find them. Her hormones would kill her.
“Hey”, Kuina greeted her, as she sat down next to Ino.
“Hey”, Ino answered, taking a long sip from her cocktail. She loved the sweet and bitter taste. Her lips were already numb. She loved it.
“Why are you dressed like this?”, Kuina asked, her eyes scanning her body.
“You don’t like it?”, Ino answered with a question.
“No, it looks great”, Kuina answered, “Its just not something that I’ve seen you wear around here before.”
Ino laughed, “I used to wear stuff like that all the time. I loved partying so much that I had this dress in my office, for the times that I spontaneously decided to go out after a long day of work. I miss that so much.”
“You can party here all day”, Kuina informed her, taking in the womans beautiful features.
“Its not the same”, Ino said, “It was so much more fun back then. If you kissed a stranger in the club you could be sure that you would never see them again. If I kiss someone out here, Niragi makes sure no one ever sees them again.”
“But I am safe?”, Kuina asked.
Ino smiled, cupping Kuinas cheek, “You are safe and free to do whatever you please.”
“Whatever I please?”, Kuina echoed.
Ino nodded, her gaze fixated on Kuinas plumb lips. She wanted to kiss her. She wanted to please her and for her to please her back. Where did this obsession with Kuina even come from?
“Do you want me?”, Ino whispered, leaning in. She could smell the girl’s natural scent. She smelled sweet and spicy. She didn’t know what she was doing as her tongue dipped out of her mouth, slowly licking Kuinas jaw. She wanted her so much. Her smell was even more intoxicating then the alcohol.
“Will you be done with me if I give you what you want tonight?”, Kuinas voice was shaky.
Ino shook her head, “But I will leave you alone if you want. You don’t have to do anything. Just tell me if I’m bothering you.”
She wasn’t looking in Kuinas face, her head was still in the slightly tilted position she had taken to lick her jaw. Her smell was intoxicating. She bit her tongue to stop herself from licking her again.
“You’re not”, Kuina answered, “I just don’t understand why you are showing so much interest in me.”
“Because you are the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.”
“Prettier than Chrissy?”, Kuina asked.
Ino chuckled, lightly kissing her throat, “You sound like Niragi”, she laughed, “I loved Chrissy, but we broke over a year ago. She was pretty. I don’t know how I would’ve have answered if I still were in love with her. But today”, she drawled off, this time kissing her jaw, “you are the prettiest girl I have ever seen.”
Ino looked up, Kuina had closed her eyes. It looked like she was enjoying the small kisses. Ino kissed up her jaw up to her ear, slowly taking her earlobe between her teeth.
“Tell me if you need me to stop”, she whispered.
Kuina shuddered, “You are drunk.”
“Mhm”, Ino said, sucking Kuinas earlobe.
“I want you to stop.”
Ino straightened up, trapping her own hands between her legs so she couldn’t reach out for the pretty woman. Kuina finally opened her eyes, looking at her.
“I don’t want to be your drunk fuck”, she said, with a stern look in her eyes, “If you really think that I am that pretty, you can wait, no?”
Ino nodded, “Until you’re ready.”
Kuina put a hand on Inos knee, “Good”, she said, “I need time. There are things that you don’t know about me and I don’t do one-night stands.”
Ino nodded again. She didn’t know if it were the hormones or the alcohol, but she was feeling so overwhelmed by this woman’s beauty. She wanted to touch her. To be touched by her.
“I will do everything for you”, she blurted out, “You just need to tell me what you want.”
Cupping Inos cheek, Kuina said, “You’re drunk. You should go to your room and sleep it off.”
Ino nodded, “Will you come with me?”
Kuina shook her head, “I’ve got stuff to do. I think it would be better if you were alone.”
Ino pouted. She had just told her she would do anything for her. Anything did include going to her room alone. She balled her hands into a fist for a moment. She just wished she wasn’t so horny.
Ino stood up and turned away without looking back or saying another word, she walked up to her room. She didn’t fully close her door, but she made sure that Niragi was already sleeping in his room. Undressing she laid down on her bed, gun in one hand, the other hand playing with her breasts. A soft moan escaped her lips. She brought the gun up to her face and slowly licked the tip. She could feel herself soaking. The hand that was previously on her breast slowly dipped between her legs, as she saw a silhouette in her doorway. She moaned again. Eyes glued on the door. She felt guilty for a moment, but Kuina had only told her to go to her room alone. Not to stay there alone. She switched her hands positions, tasting herself from her fingers and shoving the gun between her legs.
“As you said you were going to get laid, I thought were would be at least one other person involved”, she heard Last Boss voice.
Giggling she brought up the gun to her face again, licking it clean, “Join me”, she said seductively, “Please?”
She didn’t have to ask twice.

Take a Shot at Love
Summary: Katniss is new in town and Peeta is her range guide. Now rated M.
Part 3 is written for @promptsinpanem in the 15 Days to Finish Your Fic (For Kika) Round. Parts 1 and 2 on AO3 here. They’re short if you missed them in ... checks notes... 2015 and 2018.
Yes. I told him yes. His face brightened into a warm smile at my acceptance. We agreed to meet at the Club but that doesn't stop the butterflies in my stomach while I get ready in my apartment.
Right now I'm struggling with what to wear. Practical over anything else. Closed toe shoes, high neck top, practical above anything else. I don’t want a rogue shell casing burning me. Besides, it's only a Sunday afternoon, right?
So it feels like a date, but I—and anything else in my head is blinded by the flash of someone’s daytime running lights outside my apartment. It’s just someone turning around but my eyes cut to the clock and I need to leave now. Long-sleeve turtleneck and vest with jeans it is, as I slide into my boots and head out the door. The drive over to the Capitol Hunting Club is mercifully short, compared to the growing list of questions in my head. I park and grab my bow and quiver with standard arrows before rushing inside.
The main showroom is packed. Who knew so many people wanted to attend this event? How am I ever going to find Peeta in here? My mind buzzes as I scan for his face when a gentle nudge from behind stops me in my tracks.
“Hey, found you,” he greets me with another one of those disarming smiles.
He’s definitely cleaned up well. Gone is the safety hue and in its place, a fetching shade that matches his eyes.
“Hey, uh yeah. This place is crazy busy. How'd you manage the day off from work?” I ask as my eyes roam the facility and catch a few familiar faces. “Looks like they have the whole staff on point here tonight.”
“I traded a coworker for a few Saturdays. It was quite the negotiation,” he pauses for a long moment, as if he is deciding something. “Ultimately though, I told him that I had a really special date,” he says as heat blooms across his cheeks.
“So this is a date, then?” I say with caution. “I wasn't sure, so I'm glad we have that clarified.” It almost sounds like a contract, rather than romance.
“It's a date if you allow it,” he stammers as his cheeks reach beet red before settling back into his normal skin tone.
I consider this, weighing my heart, body, and head on the matter. I can only imagine the confusion my face must show until I meet his eyes and the fog begins to lift. “I'll allow it, though...having a first date on Valentine's Day? What kind of omen is that?”
“Truth be told, Katniss, I've been wanting to ask you out for months but never worked up the courage until now,” he says quietly. “I’m not placing any special emphasis on the day, I’m just happy to be here, with you.”
Well that’s hard to argue. “Okay, well where do you want to start?” I try with a smile.
“Shoot first?”
“Pardon?”
“The pistol range, then the archery range, and then the meal?”
“Oh, I don’t… really know that much about pistols, my only experience with guns is the shooting we did the other weekend.”
“Oh I have a feeling you’ll be dead on with your aim and we can rent from the club too since I don’t own a pistol. I’ll run you through a safety briefing too.”
I keep considering his motives and his actions, if they are aligned or if I’m missing something as we move to the first station. It’s not much more than a series of door frames with walls in between, just enough for two people to stand closely with a shelf at waist height to place the weapons. I watch Peeta take aim at the ringed hearts on paper hung seven yards away. Blue, purple, and pink. Pop, pop, pop, goes my nerves and heart. The sound is too much on this indoor range with the pistols, even with the noise canceling headphones Peeta lent me.
“Your turn,” he gestures and shows me that the pistol is on safety and pointed down range on the shelf. He changes the target out for good measure too.
I take the pistol in my hands, forming the teacup he mentioned and squinting at the target. The cool steel chills me—I’m more accustomed to the warm bow wood. I flip the safety off and squeeze the trigger, taking a breath between shots. A crackle of electricity runs through my shoulders and spine as I finish my clip but it’s not the same thrill found in the woods. I take another glance at the target. All of the paper hearts are shredded.
“Is there anything you can’t do?” Peeta asks in amazement.
“Thanks, though I think I’ll stick with my bow or trap and skeet,” I say, flipping the safety back on, placing the weapon down, and backing away from the shelf.
Peeta sends another series of shots down range but I’m done shooting pistols for the day. My fingers are itching to get back on a bow. I go over to the archery station for some sanity while Peeta returns the equipment to the rental booth.
Red balloons are attached to the various targets on the archery range with prizes inside. Peeta takes aim with precision and hits nearly all of them. The slips float down to the floor to be retrieved by attendants. “Bullseye! Have you been taking lessons?” I ask casually.
“No. I just replayed what you told me in my head, and well—I wanted to impress you.” A lopsided grin sneaks across his face and he shuffles his feet.
His honesty takes me aback. He says everything in such an offhand way and I am foolish to have suspected ulterior motives. “Well...it shows, you’ve improved a lot since the other day.”
He beams at the praise and then it’s my turn to shoot. The attendant notices that the standing balloon targets offer no challenge for me, so he releases balloons from a ceiling net I had not seen earlier. At first it seems stupid, but it turns out to be kind of fun. Much more like hunting a moving creature, albeit a slow-moving one. Since I’m hitting everything he releases, he starts increasing the number of balloons in the drop. I forget the rest of the range and this date and lose myself in the shooting. When I manage to take down all five balloons in one round, I realize it’s so quiet I can hear each prize slip hit the floor. I turn and see the majority of the people of the range have stopped to watch me. Their faces show everything from jealous to admiration, though Peeta’s face is the brightest of them all.
The attendant calls for cease fire and I retrieve my arrows and prize slips—gift cards for the Club store and café, mostly. We venture toward the cake and coffee bar set out for this event. I wrinkle my nose at the coffee but notice that they offer hot chocolate too. “Oooh, that cake looks amazing!”
“You should have a slice, I have it on good authority that it's delicious,” he says.
He's met with a raised eyebrow.
“It's from my parent’s bakery,” he shrugs with another disarming smile. “Red velvet cake, cream cheese icing, and dark chocolate shavings on top.”
And he’s not wrong. The dark flavors burst in my mouth, sending ripple effects down my spine. The cake and hot chocolate together give me a nervous energy, propelling me toward the next steps of this date. I feel like I could run 26.2 miles now, okay maybe just a half marathon. We both finish our desserts though I have something sweeter in mind.
“Will you walk me out to my car, Peeta?”
Like a gentleman, he does and he waits patiently while I put up my equipment in the trunk.
“Katniss, may I kiss you goodnight—”
He doesn’t get a chance to finish because it’s me that leans in, answering his question with my own response. His lips are surprised but warm up instantly to me. His kisses are warm. His kisses leave me dizzy with want. Amazing kisses. Toe-curling kisses. I feel a swipe of his hot tongue in my mouth and I know that I need more.
He must feel the same way since he’s pulling me closer to him and kissing my jaw and neck, or what he can reach around my sweater. His body is so firm wrapped up with mine, something I’d like to explore more in private.
“Maybe it doesn’t have to be goodnight,” I say to the sinking sun and feel him pause at the shell of my ear, “maybe we can—“ deep breath “maybe we could go back to my place?”
Peeta clears his throat and meets my eyes, “Really?” His eyes cut to the parking lot, realizing that we’re still in a very public place.
“Um, yeah, I don’t live far from here and you could follow me there, if you—if you want to, that is,” I manage, though my confidence is slipping.
“Heck yeah, lead the way!” he says and grins.
“Okay, right, well let’s go,” I say before I change my mind.
If I thought the drive over to the Club was short earlier, this one flew by, my mind racing at the scenario I’ve just proposed. We’ve made it back to my place before I can second guess myself any further.
He parks next to me and follows me to the door, “This is a great location,” he chatters as I unlock it, “I mean, it’s a nice place too,” and then he’s scratching the back of his neck, looking around my sparse apartment.
“Well… as you know, I haven’t been in town very long and it seems like I spend most of my free time out at the Club, trying to compete for your attention with others,” I shrug.
“Compete?“ he laughs and hides his face in his large hand for a moment. “You don’t have any competition anywhere, Katniss,” and this time, it’s him that leans in.
Our lips have barely touched when I ask, “Couch or bed?”
He pulls back to look at me and curls that lip of his under a set of very white teeth. “Honestly, Katniss, whatever happens, you’re calling the shots.”
“Right then, bed it is,” and I pull him into my bedroom.
We spend the next few hours teasing, tasting, and exploring as much of each other as possible since Peeta only has one condom with him. He makes it last though and thoroughly fucks me. My favorite part is probably his ass. I remember checking it out on that very first day, and it’s certainly ample to cup while trying to coax him deeper into my throat or dig my heels into it as I spur him to the orgasms that finally give our bodies peace. My mind wanders just before we drift off to sleep, I just hope he doesn’t have an early shift tomorrow.

Thank you @papofglencoe for the encouragement and quick beta skills on this third part! It was fun to come out of semi-retirement!

A/n: this was such cute Idea I hope I did it justice. It’s been a while since I’ve written a comedy piece. There are probably spelling errors I’ll go back and fix them later. also I love Jon Favreau as Happy so I had to put him in. (i swear he is one of my favorite actors) btw this is not edited (i’ll come back and do that eventually)

Summary: When Y/n’s best friend goes through a drastic change he starts keeping secrets. Secrets that include him being New York’s one and only friendly neighborhood spiderman. Shit hits the fan when his new secret life is exposed and she gets dragged into it.
Genre: Spiderman!au, romance, comedy, friends to lovers!au, little bit of angst
There are only three things that truly matter in life. Good friends, good pizza, and a good story. So far I had two of those at the moment. Sadly I was lacking a good story. Our school newspaper had been quite dry despite my efforts to discover new and intriguing stories.
“Stop sulking and eat.” My best friend said, shoving a piece of cheese pizza in my face. Jisung laughed when I bit the end before returning to look at my laptop. We were at our usual pizza place seated next to the window with the big bright red neon sign lighting up our faces. The sun set over the New York skyline making the moment almost perfect. If only I was writing an exciting article. Instead, I was putting together a riveting look into the school’s menu changes.
“You know I invited you because I thought you were going to be good company.”
“Please. You invited me because Felix was busy with a stupid Lego project and no one else will eat pizza with you.”
“Whatever.”
Jisung and I weren’t the most popular people in our senior class. To be frank, Jisung was my only friend. So going out and eating pizza every other day at ten o’clock at night was often the highlight of my week. Having had enough of the lack of attention Jisung slammed my laptop closed and removed it from the already small table. “Hey! I didn’t save!”
“That’s what Google Docs is for.”
He was right. I needed to stop working. I had been slaving over that stupid and boring article all week. He didn’t have to be such an ass though. “You are such a teenager.” I scoffed, watching him shovel yet another slice of pizza down his throat. “Oh, and you are such an adult!” The mocking tone of his voice threatened a laugh.
“I swear you are God’s punishment for enjoying sex. Everyone’s libido just disappears when you are around.”
“Hey don’t ruin our date. I was considering sleeping with you tonight.”
He laughed when I threatened to smack him. It had been like this for as long as I could remember. Just me and Jisung. My parents had been friends with his before they passed away in a car accident. Now Jisung lived with his Aunt May and his Uncle Ben a few blocks away from me.
I remember after the crash I would wake to a tap on my window to see an eight year old Jisung on my fire escape. Not wanting to bother his Aunt with his nightmares, Jisung had run all the way to my apartment and climbed the fire escape to my room on the sixth floor. I would open the window and let him sleep in my bed. My eight year old brain used to think maybe my bed was like force field keeping away the bad dreams about his parents.
“Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?” Jisung asked bringing me out of my thoughts.
“Mr. Finoli asked me to take pictures of the science field trip so I’m going with you guys. Why?” A look of realization crossed Jisung’s face making him freeze. “Did you forget to ask May to sign your permission slip?”
“I forgot to ask May to sign my-...you can be a real ass sometimes, you know that?”
Laughing I pulled a ten out of my wallet and left it on the table. “Come on, you’ve gotta get your slip signed, dummy.” “I can pay, it’s no problem.” He said watching me pack up my stuff. “Nah, you can get the next one.” Bellies full of pizza, we left Tony’s Pizzeria and headed in the direction of Jisung’s apartment, his arm draped over my shoulder and talking my ear off about some random experiment they had done in Physics that day.
The next day I woke up bright and early to meet the class at the New York Museum of Science. Camera bag on my shoulder and camera around my neck I stood outside the museum with about ten other students and two teachers. My tired eyes brightened when I saw Jisung step out from the subway, May right behind him.
I laughed as he wiped a kiss from his cheek before waving goodbye to her. His dyed blonde hair was messy and blew slightly in the wind. Jisung waved when he saw me and jogged over. His hoodie lazily hung off his shoulder and his shirt and jeans were somewhat wrinkled. “Don’t you look nice?” I couldn’t help but chuckle at his appearance.
“Shut up.”
He laughed throwing an arm around my shoulder, leading me closer to the group. Soon the tour began and I busied myself with taking photos of the group for the paper and yearbook. Jisung followed the group, only half-listening to the teacher as he looked at other random exhibits.
At around one in the afternoon, the group moved outside to have lunch on the steps. I sat off to the side with Jisung, his legs spread out across the stairs and his elbow rested on the step above us. It was refreshing to be next to him talking about absolutely nothing. Even if he stole my food.
Eventually, we were all called back to resume the tour. I angled a shot of two students looking at a bug exhibit, but just as I took the picture Jisung jumped in the frame throwing up a peace sign and crossing his eyes. “Hey! Stop hitting me!” He yelled as I smacked his shoulder over and over again. “Look I’m just innocently observing the exhibit. Leave me alone crazy woman!”
Sighing, I pushed him away and resumed taking photos. As the group was moving onto the next room I noticed Jisung was missing. It wasn’t unlike him to wander off into a room he wasn’t supposed to just to look at probably like some DNA model or some other weird science shit. I could never get over the fact Jisung was super into science when he gave zero fucks about his other classes.
“Jisung?”
“Ji?”
“Ji, we are moving on,” I said looking for him. My eyes landed on a semi-open door marked ‘Lab’. He wouldn’t. He did. Just as I started to walk towards the door, he exited with a goofy smile on his face. “Y/n! Dude, they have all these cool spiders and test tubes in there it was so cool! One of them bit me!” Like an excited three-year-old, he showed me his wrist where he indeed had a red spider bite.
“Ooooooh! Take a picture!”
He shoved my camera into my hands and held up his arm pointing to the spider bite making the dopiest smile. Knowing he wouldn’t shut up until I complied, I took the picture.
“Let’s catch up with the group,” I said taking his hand and dragging him back to the class. When we reached the group a teacher looked over at us his brows furrowing. “Excuse me, Miss L/n, is your friend okay?” He pointed to Jisung, a concerned expression on his face.
“Jisung? There are certainly things wrong with him but he’s oka-”
My words stopped when I turned to look at my best friend next to me. “Ji- Oh my god! Ji are you okay?” His face had obviously paled and he looked dizzy. A thin layer of sweat lay on his forehead.
“Hell yeah. I’m doing fine, baby.” His voice sounded drowsy.
“Miss L/n he is not alright. Does he have anyone who can come get him.” The teacher said pulling out his phone. I shook my head. May worked in the day and his Uncle Ben was on a business trip. “No, they are working.”
He sighed and turned to me. Jisung was clearly getting worse by the second and was wobbling a little. “What about you? Can you take him home?” Jisung laughed and wrapped his arms around me loosely. “Fuck yeah, I’d her take me home.”
“I have a test in my last period.”
“I’ll write you a pass and send it to your teacher. Take him home please.”
Nodding he typed something on his phone and returned to the group who had started to move once again. “Okay Ji, let’s get you back to May’s.” Slowly we started moving to the exit. Before we made it to the doors, Jisung practically turned green. He pushed away from me and burst towards the nearest restroom.
“Jisung!”
Ignoring the looks and yells I followed Jisung into the restroom and looked for the stall he was in. “Hey, lady get out of here!” A man standing at the urinal screamed.
“Oh please. Get over yourself.”
“Ji?”
Following the coughing and gagging sounds, I pushed the final stall door open. Jisung sat on the floor his mop of blonde hair hanging over the toilet. I crouched next to him and rubbed his back gently. “Oh god, I hate puking.”
“Jisung everyone hates puking.”
“Yeah well.....your face likes puking.”
“Nice comeback.”
Feeling too terrible to respond, he just threw up the contents of his stomach again. When he seemed able to stand the two of us made our way outside and down the subway. Jisung leaned most of his weight on me as I slid my metro pass through the scanner. How I managed to get him through the turnstile and onto the metro I have no clue. Thankfully there was once last seat free for Jisung to sit down in.
“Y/n, I don’t feel good.”
“I know,” I said softly as he rested his head against my stomach. The train turned sharply making me hold onto the strap, not wanting to fall into Jisung. Soft whines and groans came from him every now and then. This was the worst I had ever seen Jisung.
I listened to the stations being called out as I ran my fingers through his hair, hoping that would calm him down a little. We were only four stops away but more people were getting on the train. Jisung looked up at me a sick expression on his face. It changed when he looked at the passengers boarding the car.
“Here, Ma’am. You can take my seat.”
“Thank you so much, young man.” An older woman said taking his seat as he got up. “Jisung, you feel terrible. Are you okay to stand?” He shrugged latching onto the strap next to mine, his face paling again. “I’ll be fine, it’s only four stops.”
Jisung’s eyes started to droop as the train started up again. His body began to act heavier than it was so he resorted to leaning on me and nestling his head between my neck and shoulder. I did my best to make sure he didn’t fall over.
“You two are very cute together.” The old lady said with a smile.
“Oh- we aren’t--”
“You better hold onto a good man like that, sweetie. Handsome and kind. Those are hard to come by.”
Before I could respond we turned again, and I had to keep Jisung from falling in this poor nice old lady’s lap. I felt his skin burning against mine. Could this train not go any faster. Soon enough our stop came. I said bye to the old woman and helped Jisung get off the train and up the subway stairs.
“Come on, Ji. We are almost there and we both know I cannot carry your ass.”
Eventually, I made it up the stairs of his apartment building to the fourth floor and managed to drag him to his door. “Jisung, where’s your key?” Trying not to hurt his head I propped him up on the door frame. He laughed when I started searching through his pockets.
“Y/n if you wanted to cop a feel just ask. That tickles.”
“Jisung where are your fucking keys?”
“Back pocket.” He said drowsily. I sighed and reached behind him. My hands searched through his jean pockets for the cold metal keys. “Having fun back there, because I’m sure enjoying it.”
I suppressed the urge to punch him in the stomach out of fear he would vomit all over me. Finally finding his keys, I unlocked the door and threw my stuff inside, before lugging him in as well. Jisung leaned on the couch while I put my stuff on the table.
“Y/n it’s burning up in here.”
“Jisung, you just have a temperature.”
“It burns like fucking hell! It’s too hot!”
Before I could stop him Jisung was shedding layers like a snake. He tossed his shirt somewhere in the small living room. He was sweating like crazy, his blonde hair sticking to his forehead. “Ji, come on let’s get you in the shower.” I started running a cold shower for him before rushing back to the living room to call May. It would only be a couple hours until she got home, but I should still let her know what’s going on.
While Jisung was in the shower, I grabbed some medicine from the cabinet. I had absolutely no fucking idea how to treat a spider bite. Antibiotics? Hearing the shower turn off I knocked before entering. Jisung had a towel wrapped around his waist and was leaning his head against the wall. “Y/n...”
“I’m right here, Jisung.” Cautiously I led him to his room and watched him collapse onto his double bed. Rummaging through his drawers I found some mostly clean sweatpants. “Ji, do you even do laundry?”
“Y/n, I feel a little too fucking sick to do chores now.”
“I know. I know.” He slipped on the sweatpants and let me dry his hair. I wrapped his arms, covering the bite so it wouldn’t get more infected then it already probably was. Jisung’s temperature flipped like crazy. One minute he was burning up and the next he was freezing.
A sigh of relief left my chest when I heard May call out in the apartment. “Y/n thank you so much for taking care of him.” She gave me a short hug before running to go get more meds. She would know better than I would, being an ER nurse. “Ji, do you want me to stay? I can call my parents and tell them I’m staying the night.” He slowly shook his head.
“No, it’s okay.”
“I can stay really-”
“Y/n, I’ll be fine. You can go home.”
He gave me a half-assed smile and squeezed my hand. There was no arguing with Jisung sick or not so I gathered my things and left. May promised to keep me updated and I told her I would have my phone next to me.
The walk back to my apartment seemed longer than usual. I couldn’t stop thinking about Jisung. When I got home, my parents greeted me before telling me they would be working tonight. My dad was a cop and my mom worked at a hospital downtown. It was rare they were even home, to begin with. Exhausted from taking care of Jisung, I rolled onto my bed and fell asleep.
This boy really texted me at five the morning telling me to meet him at his locker three hours later. If he wasn’t still sick I would for sure have throttled him. Except for the fact that Jisung didn’t look sick. Not at all. He looked perfectly healthy as he walked down the hall towards me. In fact, he looked...really....good. It pissed me off.
“Aren’t you supposed to be sick?”
“Yeah, I got better.”
Jisung opened his locker like it was any other day and got his books. “What did you want to talk about?” He sighed and looked over at me. There was something different about him. Did his jaw always look like that? No. No jaw looks like that.
“So this morning I woke up and like I felt completely fine. In fact, I felt the best I have in years. And this weird thing happened to me on the subway-”
Jisung’s words were interrupted by the sound of his locker closing, only the entire row of metal lockers rattled as his shut. “The fuck? Did we have an earthquake or something?” I asked looking around. “What? No. New York isn’t on a fault line.” Shrugging it off I turned back to Jisung.
“You were saying?” He seemed distracted now, looking at his closed locker. “Ummm.... I wanted to thank you for yesterday.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him. “Ji, you don’t need to thank me. I’ll always take care of you if you need me.” As I pulled away his hands stayed on my waist, which wasn’t totally out of the norm. Jisung was always a really touchy and flirty person. It drove me crazy sometimes, knowing that it was just his personality and not him acting on something else.
“So this weird thing happened on my way to school this morning. My hand-” Again Jisung was interrupted. This time by the bell ringing for homeroom. “Hey Jisung, I’ve gotta go, but you can tell me at lunch right?” He nodded, his expression becoming more uneasy. As I turned his grip on my waist stopped me.
“Ji, I know you wanna tell me now but I have to go!” I said with a laugh. A nervous breathy laugh escaped his lips as he tried to pull away from me. “Well, you know how hard it is for me to keep my hands off of you.” Arching an eyebrow I chose to ignore his weird behavior and walked off to my homeroom.
When the lunch bell finally rang I took my food outside to where Ji and I normally ate. However, he was nowhere in sight. As if he could read my thoughts, my phone notified me of a text from Jisung.
Lix asked me to help him with some Chem work. Sry I can’t eat with you :(
I sent him a quick reply saying it was okay. It wasn’t the first time I had eaten alone and it surely wouldn’t be the last. To no surprise, Chaeyoung and one of her friends walked by. “Have you seen that kid? What’s his name? Jihyun?” She said in her shrill voice. It was hard not to hear her conversation even from twenty feet away.
“No, I think his name is Jisung. Han Jisung. He is in my physics class. Kind of a dweeb if you ask me.”
“Well, that dweeb filled out. He was probably just a late bloomer, but like all of a sudden, he got really hot. Have you seen his arms and his chest? Oh my god! A girl could die.”
The girls laughed and continued to objectify my best friend. They were right. Jisung had seemed to have had a huge glow up overnight. His lanky form did seem more toned and his arms were much more muscular than I remembered.
“Can you believe he still hangs out with that new junkie girl? Like, please. He could get any girl he wants now. Why stay friends with that waste of space?”
“That bitch is so full of herself. Literally, no one even likes her.” Chaeyoung said laughing. Having heard enough, I got up and decided to go to my next class early. It didn’t necessarily bother me what she had said. Chaeyoung always liked to mess with me.
All my classes seemed slower than usual and Jisung was answering my texts. At this point in the day, we would probably be having a meme war or a stupid conversation ignoring our teachers, but my phone was silent. Not a single notification.
By the end of the day, I was feeling totally depressed. English was my last class and thank god I had it with Jisung. No doubt he would be late though. He rarely ever showed up on time to class. But, as I walked through the classroom door I did a double-take seeing my best friend in his usual seat right beside mine.
He gave me an innocent smile. This was strange. Jisung was never early. He looked...normal. I mean other than the physical overnight puberty storm. He slouched in his chair his long legs spilling into the aisle, not that he cared, and he twirled a pen between his long slender fingers.
“Yo, wassup, cutie?” He said as I sat down. “You seem to be the talk of the school.” He shrugged and shuffled through some physics work he had on his desk. “You jealous?” That stupid smirk appeared on his mouth. “No. Just confused.”
“Okay, class. Settle down. We are going to be returning to our analysis of Austen’s novel Sense and Sensibility.”
I busied myself with taking thorough notes knowing Jisung would just fall asleep again or just play a random game on his phone. The teacher droned on making a seemingly not boring book a complete snooze fest. The lecture continued without end threatening to send me to sleep as well. Out of habit, I looked over at Jisung, except he was not asleep. Jisung was wide awake and he appeared to be listening intently.
As if he sensed I was looking at him he turned and smiled at me before returning his attention to the front of the classroom. This was too weird. Where was my Jisung? Maybe he was still sick. That could explain the weird behavior, right?
The harsh sound of the release bell brought me out of my thoughts. Jisung was already packing up his stuff. “Hey, you wanna stop by Tony’s on the way home? You can buy me a slice!” I said latching onto his arm. The girls were right. Jisung had filled out. Feeling myself starting to blush, I let go and looked back up at my best friend.
“I can’t. I’ve gotta run some errands fro May and then Uncle Ben asked me to pick up dinner and some other stuff.”
“I can come with you?”
“No, it’s okay. I’ll text you later!”
Without another word, Jisung raced out of the classroom. I knew Jisung pretty well and it was clear he didn’t want me around today. Alone-again- I rode the subway back to my apartment to be greeted by an empty living room. My mom had left a note on the counter leaving me money for dinner and saying Jisung was welcome to come over. “Yeah, well he’s too busy,” I said to no one in particular.
It got dark pretty quick. All my homework was finished. I even managed to submit the stupid article on lunch menus. Eventually, I had nothing to do but stare at my ceiling. The news was getting pretty boring. After the whole Avenger’s fiasco, things had quieted down, and no interesting stories were in sight. By 11:30 I had given up hope Jisung was going to text let alone call so I did the next best thing.
“Hi, May! Is Jisung busy?”
“Hi, sweetie! Jisung got home about an hour ago. He said he was out with Felix. Should I tell him to call you?”
“No, no. It’s fine. You don’t have to tell him. I’ll talk to him later.”
“Okay, honey. Goodnight!”
Han Jisung you filthy little liar. If he didn’t want to hang out with me he should have just said so. Deciding I had finally had enough of this awful day I curled up under my covers and fell asleep.
Months had now passed and Jisung had started acting normal again. Well as normal as Jisung could be anyway. Our near daily trips to Tony’s had decreased to only twice a week and Jisung always seemed to be busy after school, though he made sure to text me back for fear of facing my wrath.
“What do you think of this Spiderman guy?” I asked typing away on my laptop. Jisung lounged across my bed, the Saturday afternoon light casting a warm glow over his face.  He looked up from his place beside me. “Uhh...I don’t know. What do you think of him?”
“He seems a little childish and amateur, but he is a great story. Vigilante helping out downtown New York? That’s gold.”
“Childish? What do you mean childish? He’s professional as fuck. I heard he stopped a bank robbery the other day.”
“Yeah, and they found the criminals hanging from a lampost by their underwear.”
Jisung laughed and ran a hand through his blonde hair before looking up at the ceiling. “You’ve been talking about Spiderman a lot lately. What do you have a crush on him?” I scoffed, fingers flying across my keyboard. “Please. I don’t date children. Besides, I just think he is a great story.”
“You wanna order takeout?” Jisung asked reaching over me to get my phone. My dad was on duty and my mom was on call so Jisung had come over to keep me company. I did my best to pretend I didn’t notice how amazing he smelled as he leaned over me. “You know you should really stop eating junk food. You are what you eat.” I said distracting myself from how close he was.
“Well then if we are what we eat, I guess I would be fast, cheap, and easy.”
Jisung winked at me, making my eyes roll. Jisung had grown at home in his new body and somehow he got even cockier than he was before. He groaned at my lack of response and instead let his head rest in my lap, giving him a good view of my screen. “Play with my hair, bitch.”
“Excuse me, dick. I’m working.” He laughed and unlocked my phone. I often wondered why he liked just sitting with me. I think I remembered him telling me once that he liked the sound of me typing. He said it had sort of a rhythm that only belonged to me. How he could pick up on that I had no clue. Like he had superhearing.
“I ordered sushi. Don’t worry, I’ll pay.” Jisung said, adjusting his body slightly so he wasn’t at an awkward angle. I smiled continuing to write about our masked arachnid hero. “Please tell me you got boba too.” I sighed suddenly craving the sweet drink.
“Of course, baby. I’ve got you.”
There was a moment of silence. Any minute now Jisung was going to break it. The boy couldn’t go three minutes without talking. “Do you think Spiderman is hot?” Jisung blurted out.
“Jisung...do we need to have a talk?”
“What- no! Oh, what- no! I mean like do you think he’s hot?”
“The guy wears a mask; how am I supposed to know?”
He shrugged and played on my phone. “I don’t know. What do you think he looks like?” With Jisung’s mind, he wasn’t going to drop this until he got an answer. Saving my work, I closed my laptop and moved it onto the side table. “He’s probably like thirteen. I’m mean he is skinny enough to be a pre-teen.”
“No, like his face.”
“You are weirdly obsessed with this you know.”
“Answer the question already. I’m getting bored.”
I thought for a minute, my hand unconsciously moving to run through his blonde locks. What would spiderman look like? “He is probably just some random white dude. Dark hair, blue eyes maybe?”
He nodded, seemingly satisfied with my answer. The topic changed after that. Jisung told me about spending time with his Uncle earlier that day and we talked about his weird physics experiments. Soon enough, the food came and Jisung paid for it like he said he would. We spent the next several hours sitting in my bed eating sushi, drinking boba, and watching a drama Jisung insisted I ‘needed to see or my brain would explode out of my ears from being lame’.
After several episodes, my room was obscenely dark and my parents had yet to come home. My back rested against Jisung’s chest letting me feel the vibration of his laughs. “Hey, it’s late. You should probably head home.” He smiled when I made no attempt at moving or letting him up. “Do you want me to stay?” “Yes  please.”  He chuckled and pulled out his phone, calling his uncle and letting him know.
Soon I began to grow tired, my head slumping back onto his shoulder. He poked my side, trying to wake me up. “Hey, go change for bed.” Sleepily, I nodded and shuffled out of bed to sift through my closet for a nightshirt. Jisung moved around getting comfortable while I changed.
As I walked back over to the bed Jisung shut my laptop and placed it on my nightstand. When I climbed back into my bed he pulled me on top of him, wrapping his arms around my waist. It had been quite a while since Jisung had stayed over. It felt so nice just to be next to him, feeling the warmth radiating off his bare chest. The sound of his heartbeat lulled me to sleep.
Jisung’s ringtone blared in my small room quickly waking me up. “Ji-” I said shoving my head under the covers. “I got it. Go back to sleep.” A quick glance at my clock told me it was two am. Who the hell was calling Jisung at two am? Jisung reached over me and grabbed his phone off the stand. He tried not to move a lot because my head still lay on his arm. “Hello?”
“Happy? What’s wrong?”
“Jisung tell the Disney dwarf to hang up. I wanna go back to sleep.” I whined, drowsily. Snuggling back into his chest, I reluctantly listened to him sleepily talk on the phone, Jisung not being fully awake himself. “Where am I? I’m at Y/n’s.....Yes....Yes, you can add the location to the list.” I felt Jisung run a hand through his fluffy hair and sigh.
“Mr. Stark said what? Yeah, yeah I have it in my bag....What now?....She’s gonna kill me....I can be there in ten.” Jisung hung up and started to get out of bed. “Woah, where the hell are you going? I need my personal space heater.” Jisung let out a tired laugh as he slipped his baggy shirt back on and rummaged through his bag looking for something.
“I’m really sorry, but I have to go.”
“Jisung who the fuck is calling you at two am? What is so important that you have to leave?” I asked still not really awake and comprehensive. “Uhhh....my....internship.”
“Your what?”
“My internship.”
“Your what?”
“My internship.”
“Yeah-Ji- you keep saying ‘your internship’ like my half-asleep half murderous mind will understand what your saying.”
“I got an internship with Stark Industries. They have uh... a problem....with some of the...code that I wrote....last week.”
Jisung started slipping his socks back on as I stared at him in confusion. “When did you get an internship with freaking Tony Stark -You work with Ironman?!” He laughed and started searching for his shoes.
“Y/n, go back to sleep. I’ll see you on Monday.” Then he left. I was alone once again in my room. A random siren went off in the distance and I just sat in bed. Suddenly, the police scanner on my dresser crackled to life. My dad had given it to me for my birthday a few years ago.
We have a 647g Disorderly Conduct at 284 Hickom Av.
647g? Why bother calling that in at this time of night? That was just loitering. Sighing, I got up and walked over to turn the radio off. Another voice coming through stopped me.
Disregard suspect has left the premise with another group of guys. Headed south down Hickom.
South down Hickom street? What had my dad said earlier this week? Something about several high arms deals going down near there. If I could catch one in the act this would be a great story! Throwing on some pants and slipping on my sneakers, I grabbed my camera and put on my jacket. “Finally a great story!”
Hickom Avenue was maybe about ten minutes away. The streets were pretty dark at two am, but it didn’t really bother me. My curiosity overpowered any fear I should have. My eyes scanned the area looking for any sign of the guys the scanner mentioned. Just as I was about to cross in front of an alley I saw them. Quickly I doubled back and pressed against the wall.
“If I’m paying 4k for some lightsaber shit, I’d better get a demonstration, man.”
Carefully I peeked around the corner. Seven men stood in the hallway. Three were next to this heavy-duty van with blacked-out windows. This was definitely an arms deal if I had ever seen one. Which....to be fair...I hadn’t. But it was pretty clear.
A guy with muscles bigger than my head pulled out a large weapon with green glowing lights. Quickly I pulled out my camera and started snapping pictures. They proceeded to fire this huge light cannon around the alley. Holy shit. This thing was powerful.
“Okay, you got a deal. I’ll take four-”
Let’s dance the night away,
Let’s  dance the night away,
Yeaaaahh
One, Two, Three! Let’s go!
“Fuck,” I whispered ripping my phone out of my pocket and struggling to turn it off. “Turn off, come on.” Finally, I silenced the phone and turned to see if they had heard. Instead my eyes met a broad chest only a couple inches away.
Okay....think, think, think. Too busy panicking. Can’t think. Uhhhhhh......fuck. I followed my first instinct and threw a punch at the guy’s nose. His head did not recoil like it was supposed to. He just simply cracked his neck and glared down at me.
Okay.....instincts bad.
Before I knew it I was struggling against the man’s grip as he dragged me into the alley. “We’ve got a visitor.” He said throwing me onto the ground in front of all the other men. They sneered and inched closer clearly quite upset I had interrupted their little party.
“Make that two. Hey, how are you guys doing?”
All heads turned to the roof of the liquor store we were next to. My eyes widened. There was Spiderman. Complete with the red and blue suit and cocky childish attitude. “Who the fuck are you?” The buff guy, who now had his foot digging into my stomach, said.
“Bro....Come on. I’m Spiderman. You know. I shoot webs and kick ass.”
“Isn’t he that guy from YouTube that did the flip on that building?”
“OH MY GOD, THAT WAS ONE TIME!”
The man scoffed and pressed further onto my stomach, making me wince slightly. “Scram, Arachne Boy.” The men around me laughed at I assumed the leader’s joke. The hero sighed and shook his head.
“See now I have to beat you up. You can’t just make fun of my name. That shit hurts, bro.”
“What the fu-” Before he could finish his sentence a web shot and grabbed onto his face and flung him into the side of the building. Soon a fight broke out. Trying to remove myself from the situation I crawled away as Spiderman fought all the men.
“Ah!”
A strong hand grabbed the back of my neck and hoisted me off the ground. “You aren’t getting away that easy, little girl.” The man sneered. A huge welt was on the side of his face from Spiderman’s attack. My airway’s started to close as he squeezed tighter. My hands tried to pull his fingers away and slapping at any place I could reach. Meanwhile, the last thing I would hear before I died would be Spiderman yelling something about Naruto running a dude into the next Millenium.
As the edges of my vision started to fade, I heard another voice come closer. “Get your fucking mutant hands off her!” It screamed. I was dropped to the ground. Air filled my lungs as I took huge gasps. Looking up I saw Spiderman taking on the huge monstrosity of a man with nothing but his own two hands.
“I was told never to play with guns. But I think today might be the exception.”
A web shot out of his fingertips and pulled the weird contraption into his hands. A bright light emitted and fired at the man, blasting him into the building wall. Within seconds Spiderman had wrapped up the villain in a little cocoon of sticky webs, keeping him secure. A quick look around told me he had already done the same to the others.
The boy in the red suit danced around like a weirdo, while I sat on the ground. “Go Spidey! Go Spidey! Hell yeah! I made all of you my bitches!” I coughed still trying to get air back into my lungs. The white eyes on his mask widened. It must be some pretty advanced tech in that suit.
“Holy shit- Are you okay, Y/n...........I mean...wait-...random citizen I don’t know who means nothing to me personally. Are you okay?”
His voice weirdly got lower halfway through his sentence. Dazed, I looked back up at him. He offered me a hand up and gratefully I took it. “Thanks for helping back there,” I said, voice coming out a bit sore. He shrugged and puffed out his chest.
“Yeah, I did kick some serious ass didn’t I?”
Rolling my eyes, I grabbed my camera and started to walk away. “Wait! Where are you going?” He swung from a lamppost and landed in front of me the suit’s eyes widening and shrinking again. His suit must have facial readers or something.
“I’m going home. I’ve got my story; I’m done.”
“Hey it’s not safe. Let me take you home. What would your friends say if you weren’t at school tomorrow?”
Spiderman continued to follow me as if he were a lost puppy. I laughed when he almost tripped over a trashcan. “Okay, one- how do you know I’m a student? And two- I don’t really have any friends. People don’t like me at school.” He stopped in his tracks.
“What do you mean- Are you getting bullied at school?” His words stopped me. He sounded genuinely concerned. By now we were halfway to my apartment. I simply stared at him as the old streetlights flickered and struggled to light up the sidewalks we were on.
“A couple people bother me, but I just ignore them. Look I’m gonna go home. Thanks for back there. You were a real hero.”
He looked between me and my hand as I stuck it out for him to shake. Slowly he took it, his grip firm, but cautious. “You know, usually heroes get a thank you kiss for rescuing such a gorgeous girl.” I scoffed and pulled my hand away.
“Sorry, Spidey. I’m not interested in cocky little shits who run around wearing masks.”
“Yeah well, you’d be surprised. What is your type? Bet, I’m still it.”
My eyes lit up thinking about him. “I guess I’m more of the boy next door type. They say you always fall for your best friend right?”
He blinked as if he was processing my words. What I thinking? A horny fourteen-year-old boy wouldn’t understand. “Night, Spidey. Thanks for the save.” Not letting him say another word, I headed back to my apartment. My apartment was still empty when I returned. My parents wouldn’t be back until after I left for school in a few hours. Reluctantly I went back to my bed, missing the space where Jisung lay only a few hours earlier. It was harder to fall asleep without him next to me.
My legs carried me as quickly as they could. I ignored the crazy looks from people on the street as I raced to May’s apartment. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I burst through the building’s main entrance. Knowing the elevator would take too long and it was probably broken again, I took the stairs up to the fourth floor.
The door was unlocked when I ran into the apartment. “May? May!” I called, looking for her in the living room. Hearing small cries I turned to find her exiting the kitchen. With open arms, I let her hug me and cry into my shoulder.
We sat in the kitchen in silence. Occasionally one of our cries would slip, but the emptiness would return. He wasn’t answering any of my calls. I was beginning to worry. May said they were together. Where was he? It had been hours since May had called me. The sound of the door opening made us both stand from our seats.
Jisung walked in with heavy shoulders and blood on his forehead and smeared across his shirt. He had dried tears staining his cheeks. I had seen the footage of the shooting on the news with May, but the sight of Jisung standing before us made my heart break.
I held myself back as May went to her nephew. They needed each other. I could wait. Whispers between the two were shared, most likely about her husband. She had already gotten a call, but hearing it from Jisung seemed important to her. After a moment she excused herself, saying something about wanting to go to bed.
The two of us stood in silence. I had no idea how to comfort him. How could you comfort someone who just watched their uncle die? Jisung started to slowly move towards his room. Wordlessly, I followed.
After I closed his door, I turned to find him staring at the walls small cries coming from his form. There were pictures of him and his uncle all over his room. Jisung sighed when I wrapped my arms around him from behind. He turned around so he could hold me to his chest. Hot tears fell against my neck as he cried.
It felt like hours before he calmed down. Gently I led him over to the bed and sat him down. All he could do was stare at his hands as I grabbed a clean shirt from his closet and a wet cloth from the bathroom. There was no fight from him as I lifted the bloodied shirt from his body and put it in the hamper.
Carefully, I lifted his chin and gently started cleaning the blood away from his face. I tried not to wipe away the tears that slowly ran down his cheeks. He looked broken-and tired like he hadn’t slept even before today’s events. My heart shattered when he finally looked me in the eye.
“I’m not ready for this.” He whispered, more tears falling.
Wrapping my arms around him, I let the clean shirt fall to the floor. “I know...” I tried to keep tears from falling from my own eyes. I concentrated on running my fingers through his hair and how tightly he held onto my waist. “You’re never going to be ready for it.” He cried even harder, making me want to scream for him.
Slowly, I laid back onto his bed, holding him on top of my chest. “No one is ever ready for what you are going through,” I whispered. His body shook from crying and he buried his nose into my neck, holding onto me as if I were the only tether keeping him from floating away. “But, you are so strong. We aren’t faced with challenges we can’t overcome.” His breathing started to steady as my hand traced patterns on this bare skin of his back. “Sometimes I wish I was normal,” He whispered.
“Ji, you are anything but normal. And that’s okay. But for now...you can just be here. I’ll be with you. When you’re ready you can do whatever you need to. But...just stay here for now.”
He nodded and held onto me even tighter. I listened to his breath, gently rubbing his back and playing with his hair. When I knew he was asleep, I let myself do the same. Tomorrow would be another day. I would most likely have to leave and let Jisung and May grieve, but for now, I could be with him. Hopefully, that was enough.
Early the next morning, I woke up to an empty bed. Jisung’s covers were loosely wrapped around me and his window was cracked open, letting a strip of sunlight in. Slowly, I sat up and rubbed my head. It was quite unusual for him to be up this early. Well, it was quite unusual for me to be up this early, but it was like my body had a sensor for when he was gone. I pulled my phone from the table and started to text him.
The sound of the window opening caused my attention to turn. I froze as I saw Jisung climbing through the window. “What the fuck!” He froze when he saw me. My eyes widened, taking the sight in. Jisung was standing before me wearing a familiar red and blue suit, a mask in his hand.
“Y/n, I can explain...”
Was Jisung Spiderman? Was my best friend Spiderman? Holy shit! “Okay explain!” He simply stared at me, eyes wide. His hand came to scratch the back of his neck. His eyes avoided mine as my arms crossed my chest.
“Jisung, might I suggest explanation protocol #38 for Miss L/n?”
“Oh my God! Friday, shut up! You aren’t helping.”
I watched as Jisung said to the AI apparently in his suit before he tossed the mask onto his desk. “You have an explanation protocol for me?” The look on his face showed that he knew he was in trouble.
“See the thing is...I’m not Spiderman-...” He stopped when I glared at him. “Okay, I am Spiderman. This is my internship with Mr.Stark.” Without hesitation, I got up from his bed and started slapping his arm.
“This doesn’t even hurt, does it? You have superstrength. Oh my god, I’m going to fucking murder you.” An aggravated sigh left my chest. “So this whole entire time you have been swinging around the city saving people and doing flips on buildings and I was none the wiser?” I said turning back to him.
“That was one time! But...yes.” He stood awkwardly in his own room. “Look, I’m sure you have a lot of questions.” He gulped when my stern gaze turned back on him. “So, anything you ask I’ll answer.”
“Who else knows?”
“Mr. Stark, Happy- the guy who is my supervisor-, and Felix.”
“FELIX?”
He flinched as my voice raised. Taking a breath, I calmly sat back down on his bed. He watched as I crossed my legs and turned off the sound on my phone. No way was I gonna let my parents interrupt this conversation. “How did you become like...this...” I asked pointing to his clearly toned physique.
“At first I thought it was just like another puberty thing. But, like puberty doesn't make me shoot webs out of my hands. I think it was that spider from the lab.”
“So do-...are all your...bodily fluids...like...webs? Like do you shoot webs out of everywhere or-”
“You wanna find out?” Jisung said with a smirk, coming closer. I did not hesitate to slap him.
“You couldn’t think of a better name though? Spiderman, really? You couldn’t come up with something more aggressive?”
“Well, I mean...like - spiders are cool, okay!”
I could tell he was uncomfortable. Usually, Jisung always stood up straight and had some sort of a smile or smirk on his face, but he was truly nervous. He watched me expectantly, waiting to answer whatever questions I asked next.
“So when you said you were away on a company retreat for the weekend. That was actually you who was fighting Captain America and all that shit in Prauge?”
“Yes.”
“When you left that night, did you go to the arms deal?”
“Yes.”
“So, it was you who saved me.”
“Your welcome.”
“Don’t push it.”
Nervously, he let out a laugh. No matter how many questions I asked...he was still my best friend. I was proud of him. He was doing so much good. Don’t get me wrong I was still very pissed at him for not telling me. “You owe me pizza at Tony’s for the rest of the fucking year.” A sigh of relief left his chest and he wrapped me in a hug.
“That’s fine by me. I’m honestly surprised you didn’t ask about the whole crush thing.” I pulled away to see that fucking smirk on his mouth. “I think it’s cute you’re in love with me.” He tugged me closer to his body, gripping my waist.
“Who says I’m in love with you?”
“Me.”
“You’re an asshole- you say a lot of stupid shit.”
“I’m an asshole, not a liar. There’s a difference.”
My breath caught in my throat when I saw his eyes glance down to my lips. I could practically feel my heartbeat pulsing through my entire body. It was true and he knew it. I was in love with him. “Well....what are you going do about it? Prick...” I said in a shaky breath. He let out a soft laugh, his eyes lighting up.
“Kiss you....bitch.”
My heart went crazy as he pressed his lips to mine. Closing my eyes, I melted into his touch. This was definitely the craziest two days of my entire life. I never would have imagined I would have to comfort my best friend, find out he was a superhero running around New York, and then have him kiss me in his bedroom.
Jisung smiled as I kissed him back, draping my arms around his neck and threading my fingers through his blonde hair. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought kissing Jisung would be like this. Without his mouth leaving mine he pushed me up against the wall of his bedroom. He sighed when my teeth caught his bottom lip.
“Fuck...do you know how long I’ve thought about this?” He asked before returning to my lips.
“Kissing me?”
“To be honest I’ve been thinking about more than that since I was thirteen.”
Ignoring my scoff, Jisung continued to attack my lips like he had found water for the first time after walking in a desert. His hands slid under my legs, making me shriek when he picked me up. In one swift motion, he turned around and threw me onto his bed, before hovering over me. “I love you,” He whispered, before placing a soft kiss on my lips. Slowly, he moved down to my neck, my hands running through his soft hair. Impatiently, I pulled him back to my lips.
Our little makeout session was interrupted by the sound of Jisung’s phone ringing. He sighed and dropped his head onto my shoulder. “I have to get that,” He sighed and pushed himself off the bed, walking over to pick up his phone. My eyes couldn’t help but rake over him. Now, I could freely ogle how gorgeous his body was. I bit my lip, looking at the lines of his broad shoulders go down to his slim waist.
“Happy, now is not a good time.”
“Yes....among other things...” A blush flooded his cheeks as he looked back at me still laying on his bed.
“Can’t Mr. Stark send someone else?”
“I’m not just going to up and leave.”
Getting bored, I got up and wrapped my arms around him. He tried to look over at me, but I just buried my face in his chest. Patiently, I waited for him to finished the call with Happy. Finally, he threw the phone onto his bed and kissed me again. “Do you have to go?” I asked against his lips. He pulled away another smirk filling his face.
“You want to go to Berlin for a week?”
“What?”
“Mr. Stark needs me in Berlin. Something about S.H.I.E.L.D and an Avenger thing. But, there is no way May will let me go. Especially after yesterday.”
“Why am I going?”
“Happy said I could take you with me, you know to convince May to let me go.”
I laughed and kissed him again. “Sure. I’ll go to Berlin with you.” He laughed and spun me around the room. “However, you are gonna be the one to tell my dad that we are going alone with no chaperone to a country where the drinking age is sixteen.”
“Fuck.”
“Good luck, Ji.”
Requests are open, just send an ask my lovelies!

sneak peeks From The Outside and Find A Friend
“How are your ribs? Finally healed up?” the day guard asked his brother. Therese and Enrique listened attentively, curiosity ramped up by the questions. The guard was holding his phone up, angled to point the camera at Sydney’s hands as the older man gestured with them. “That’s good. You’re lucky you only got a little roughed up by that guy. My background check turned up some info on that client,” the guard, Alex as the pizzeria owner said, explained in a lowered voice, “He’s apparently an admirer of your past self. You showing up as Pantera was practically his idea of a gift from on high for his collection.”
Sydney just face-palmed while Vanessa scowled, cheeks puffing indignantly. “He can’t have him! I hold Sydney’s contract, so I’ve got legal on my side!” she huffed. The three fell into silence as a waiter came by and delivered a large pizza and drinks for them.
“Just saying,” Alex picked up the conversation once the waiter was gone, “if you go back out again as Pantera, steer clear of that guy. I doubt he’ll just give up on you now that he’s convinced himself you’re somehow a descendent of yourself. Those eyes of yours are too unique to not have been ‘inherited’.” The brothers cringed at his words while Vanessa just pinched the bridge of her nose.
“This reminds me of how Afton thought my body would be perfect for Emelia just because I had green eyes like her,” she growled, “It’s stupid. These are our lives! Our identities!”
“Welcome to the paranormal dumbfuckery club,” Alex quipped, uncapping his bottle of soda, “Where our eyes get us into trouble and our souls are the ball in a decades-long game of keep-away from some dipshit who couldn’t handle competition in business. Sydney, stop looking guilty; you didn’t start this shit, you got taken advantage of just like the rest of us.”
--------------------
well, Sydney still shares some blame, he's not totally absolved of his part LMAO
lil bit of the outsiders' perspective thing I was playing with. here's also a bit of the Gregory meet Cassie thing too
---------------------
The birthday kid was a girl currently sobbing her eyes out in a corner of the Glamrock Salon in Roxy Raceway.
