i finished a project about this recently but the more i think about it and the more i live my life, the more i see life and love as a garden. its something you have to tend to. its something that isn’t always pretty. sometimes you have to dig into soil, you have to get your hands dirty. sometimes you have to fertilize the earth with manure. but you’ll produce such a beautiful harvest by doing so.
and if your plants don’t grow despite your hard work, you pull them out and plant something new, that will flourish in your sunlight and soil composition and seasonal temperatures. you don’t keep watering dead plants.
#i wrote a whole poem about this topic#and then collected photos from i’d taken from throughout my whole life#and photos of me as a baby#and a selfie of my parents#and i collaged it all#and then painted over it#and ripped up strips of paper and wrote my poem on them#and layered them on top#i’m so so happy with how it turned out#i’ve been trying to decide if i want to post it on tumblr#lmk if yall are interested i guess!#its a very personal project so idk if anyone here would care fkskfjdk

With each passing day, motivation dwindles, eclipsed by the darkness of disillusionment. The harsh whispers of doubt echo relentlessly, drowning out the faint glimmers of hope. Every step forward feels futile, every setback a confirmation of inevitable failure.

WHO WOULDVE FUCKING GUESSED THAT HIRING A PROFESSIONAL TAP AND BALLET DANCER FOR A DANCE CENTERED STAGE SHOW INSTEAD OF A RANDOM CELEBRITY FOR MARKETING AND ACTUALLY USING A CLICK TRACK ON THE SONG IN 13/8 WOULDVE YIELDED GOOD RESULTS? WHO COULDVE GUESSED HONESTLY. NOT ME!

🥰 and 💞 from the fic asks please
aww hey there, thank you hon~ 💛
🥰 How do you feel about reader interaction? Are you open to receiving questions about your fics?
GOD YES ALWAYS!! okay, look. when you write fics there are so many things that you know and the readers will never have an idea about — and it's not just fun to dish out bts content for fics cuz it makes them feel like something more than just a silly story I happened to post on the internet, but also because talking about them makes me feel like I'm not just shouting into a void and it gives me motivation to continue working on my ongoing projects!
honestly, having discussions about any art we create is a love language on its own! 💛
💞 Who's your comfort character?
mmm if I need to switch my brain off for a moment, my go-to is definitly my dear friend, Mr Chandler Bing, but also watching Buck in the tsunami eps always returns my brains's chemical balance~ 🥰
Fanfic Writer Emoji Ask✨
#the one thing I truly miss from my high school days is the constant discussions about art#about the sculptures and paintings and architecture and poems and the rest that we were learning about#and about our own projects that we were making for classes#and especially about the fics we were writing into the back of our math notebooks#and the fanart we drew instead of finishing the still life that'd actually get graded...#just yeah talking about art in any way shape or form is literally the best#writing#ask#anon#MWUAH#💛💛

It’s been a few months since Empires s2 came to an end and I wanted to make a piece reflecting on the time we spent with these characters 🥰✨ When season 1 ended I did a series of paintings set to the End Poem, and so I decided to revisit the concept once again, making sure to switch up which line corresponded to which person. This series means a lot to me—in fact, this is one of two big Empires s2 projects I’ve been working on! There’s another one still in the works :D

Talents -DC X DP prompt
The public is aware that each of the Wayne children are creatively gifted. It was almost expected. Richard Grayson was the acrobatic of course and no one was surprised but highly praised. So many parents began putting their children in gymnastics after seeing Dick's performances.
Jason Todd took up writing and published his own books at the age of 13. Poetry, anthologies, and historical fiction were the genres he favored. His books still remain on the best-seller's list, especially after his death. His poetry book "Blackouts" is an emotional journey of everyday tragedies and miracles of life. People would often quote lines from his poems after tragic events.
Tim Drake was more elusive. No one knew what he did until his name came up under a national photography award. His album called "The Shades of Gotham" was a contract between parties of the wealthy and the impoverished citizens of Gotham.
Cassandra Cain kept to herself constantly. No one knew what she did for years. People assumed that Bruce Wayne stopped forcing his kids to perform and others argued that she just didn't have any talents to showcase. All wrong of course. Cassandra posted one of her recent projects online which proved she was very talented. It was a beautiful scarf she was making for the winter. Cassandra was gifted with a talent for textiles. She knitted, weaved, and sowed many of the clothes she was seen wearing. It was no secret that some of the clothes the Waynes wore could not be found anywhere else but people assumed they had a tailor to make custom designs but no one knew it was Cassandra.
Damian Wayne did not lag behind his siblings as she quickly showed off his artistic talents. He's still young so he hasn't gone as far as opening his first gallery but one of his paintings has already been put in a museum. Some call it nepotism but art is subjective. The other Waynes disagree since they have hung every art piece Damian makes in their offices and home right next to Tim's photos.
Duke Thomas isn't one to show off too much. But he does go all out in his hobbies. He secretly takes after Jason in writing poetry and has been inspired by "Blackout" since he first learned to read. Duck related to it deeply. But along the way, he learned a different way to express himself. Kids on the streets of Gotham learned a bit of breakdancing and Duke was no exception. Duke is an accomplished dancer and has gotten a few competitions under his belt now.
Now that there is a new member of the Wayne family the public is waiting to find out what Danny Nightingale's talent is. Everyone knew that Waynes were creative but honestly, no one expected this. A play was announced at Monarch Theater and none other then Danny's names was on the ticket as the star.

Unprintable: Artists Against Authority
I am absolutely beside myself with excitement to announce the launch of Unprintable.
Unprintable is an online free shop, where original artwork and arts resources are released into the public domain.
Everything listed here is free to use, copy and remix any way you like. You can print off hi-res artwork to decorate your apartment, or to use in your own projects. You can use the writing in your own zines, anthologies or performances. You can put it on a t-shirt. You can read it on the radio. You can paint it on a truck. It's up to you, entirely and forever.
The collection will be updated continuously, on an unfixed schedule, with contributions from a wide range of named and anonymous artists and activists. You can read the FAQ for a full rundown of what Unprintable is and why it exists, but these are the really important parts:
Can I download/print/use the work listed here? Yes. Can I use it for [X]? You can do whatever you want with it forever. But what if I want to [Y]? You can do whatever you want with it forever. Why do this? A few reasons: 1. We want a space to just share things, no strings attached. We recognise that copyright is an irrational system that was designed to protect the profit interests of publishing middlemen and IP hoarders. In fact, copyright is often weaponised against the creators it pretends to protect. As long as it exists, we are unlikely to win any other form of protection for our work, and we are profoundly limited from engaging in the kind of communal artistic and storytelling practices that were the norm around the world for thousands of years. 2. Radical art is often unprintable. Profit motives make people cautious. A lot of print-on-demand or local print shop services will refuse artwork with controversial, sensitive or political content. This is very frustrating when these themes are the focus of so much of our work (and indeed our lives). Rather than waste any more breath trying to explain why a trans artist might want to print the word ‘faggot’, we can give our work away for free. Got a printer? It’s yours. 3. It feels good. Sharing is joyful. It’s the reason we love making things in the first place. We don’t write poems because we look forward to filleting them for consumption, or layer colours so that we can sell a canvas by the ounce. We have only ever wanted to be able to support ourselves so that we can make, but that relationship is deeply dysfunctional under capitalism. We made these things, and we want you to have them. It doesn’t need to be complicated.
I'll write up some more posts introducing the launch collection soon. In the meantime...be free, enjoy, explore, have fun!

The most fulfilled people I know tend to have two traits. They’re insatiably curious—about new ideas, experiences, information and people. And they seem to exist in a state of perpetual, self-inflicted unhappiness. These people tend to have a project they’re working on. An essay. A poem. They’re reading Wittgenstein for the first time. Or rereading Proust. They’re rehearsing for a dance performance. Learning about carbon capture technologies. Making a track in Ableton. Knitting a jumper. Testing out a new recipe. Improving their Cantonese. Taking a painting class… They’re serious about the project, although they may exhibit some self-consciousness, some hesitancy, about how badly they want it to go well. If you catch them on a good day, they’re full of freshness and vigor and excitement—an infectious enthusiasm that makes you a little more lighthearted, and a little more excited about whatever projects you have in your life. But if you catch these people on a bad day—well. I’m stuck, they’ll say. The project’s not going well. I’m not getting any better at this. It’s not as good as I want it to be. […] But it’s this restless pursuit of greatness, even when they feel demoralized and inadequate, that shapes their lives and makes things interesting. So let’s not call it dissatisfaction. Let’s call it a divine discontent.
Celine Nguyen, the divine discontent

With every attempt, the shadow of inadequacy looms larger, mocking any flicker of ambition. Efforts crumble like sandcastles before the relentless tide of self-doubt, leaving behind only the bitter taste of failure as a reminder of futile endeavors.
