What Blitz regrets
Interestingly most of Blitz's memories are more accurate with people's expressions than Stolas' in all 2 u.
Here's how he remembers the fire.
He see the imp lady and Cash bookit passed him. Then the pink horse cuts across him.
Then him seeing Fizz and trying to direct help to him.
Next is him trying to get to his Muma
Then we get the aftermath of the fire. (Screaming face made of flame).
Cash grabbing Blitz by his freshly buried wrist to hold him in place to hit him. Immediately blaming him for an accident. His mom just died and his dad did this.
Then blocking access to Fizz, shoving Blitz away. Before lying that he never visited, and that Blitz deliberately set the fire, isolating and scapegoating Blitz.
Moving on to Ozzie's which is large part of his film of his regrets and envys.
Fizz hating him on sight.
And Verosika too.
oh but he missed Stolas getting up to try to defend him from her.
Blitz also focuses on his putting his hand away from Stolas trying to comfort him
Though you can see Stolas miss reads his expression right before. When Ozzie showed his daughter hating him, and had people side with his abuser because she was 'cheated on'.
Stolas being sad when the only thing they have is Stolas wanting to fuck him.
They are both forced on this bit. That they don't have a relationship where they talk and cuddle, because it wasn't a real date. He made sure of that.
(never say never Mr too much Imp to simp)
Stolas giving him the crystal and asking him to stay. Definitely shows the crystal is huge sore point for him.
Stolas was more focused on how surprised Blitz was.
Stolas walking away from him as Blitz yells that he'll apologise to everyone else. But never him. If he hadn't said the previous 'fuck you' making Stolas think he gave him a fake reason for blowing up at him, Stolas would have understood.
Stolas singing the line "I don't think you ment to hurt me, because I don't think it meant a thing at all to you"
Oof that must have hurt.
"This whole thing we had going... I'm- I mean you're a fucking prince. How could you ever actually care for an imp... Me? How could anybody". Oh he regrets not believing Stolas cared for him.
And regrets missing his chance to comfort Stolas. (Blitz failed a QTE).
But ok big big difference here! Blitz has definitely misunderstood. Stolas' isn't crying.
He's edited out what a mess Stolas was here. Like he's forgotten how drunk he was..
And Stolas kissing the twunk is a perfect match... Oh that got seared into his brain didn't it.
Pure envy
Blitz so badly want that kind of romantic relationship
Barbie telling him he's ruined her life, and she never wants to see him again. (Just going to sob in a corner here).
And Loona. Both times are fights about being really family.
Loona: Oh, what does it matter?! You're not my real dad! I was almost eighteen!
Blitzo: It still counts!
Loona: Well, it shouldn't! I didn't need you then, asshole! I don't, now
Blitz needs to be needed by the people he loves. Otherwise he thinks they're leave him
Blitzo: Oh, Loona, my sweet baby girl! I'm so sorry, I'll never replace you no matter what you--
Looks like he still worried that she hasn't really forgiven him for saying he's replace her.
Blitz isn't just talking about Stolas here. He thinks if he's bankrupted IMP Milli, Moxxie and Loona will all leave him too. Spirals to rock bottom in this one.
So glad Millie could help pull him out.

Second Chances
Summary: Itâs not common knowledge that you have a superpower: regeneration. You didnât think that would be a problem... Jason and Damian think otherwise.
Relationships: Jason Todd x Vigilante!Reader, Damian Wayne & Jason Todd & Reader (platonic because theyâre brothers duh)
DAMIAN WAYNE IS MY SON I LOVE HIM SO MUCH (I just watched the Supersons movie he makes me smile so hard)
Word Count: 4.8k
Content warning for temporary character death. Readerâs vigilante name is Ghoul, BTW.
Jason is in the shower when he hears someone break into his apartment.
He groans, makes sure all the shampoo is rinsed out of his hair, then grabs the knife mounted to his curtain rod. Itâs not the first time someone has attacked him in the shower, and it probably wonât be the last. Still, Jason wishes they would at least give him time to grab a towel. Itâs just as uncomfortable for him as it is for them.
This time, they actually do. Maybe theyâre going to be polite enough to wait for him to finish cleaning all of Gothamâs sludge off his body. Jason would appreciate the sentiment more if the upcoming fight wouldnât immediately dirty his body again with their blood.
He doesnât turn off the shower when he steps out, dries his feet on the bath mat. Heâs reaching for his towel when he hears one of the intruders say something.
He recognizes that voice.
Jason sticks his head out of the bathroom and glowers. âWhat are you doing here, brat?â
Damian Wayne, one of Bruce Wayneâs many children and the current Robin, scowls right back. âWhy is your shower still running, Todd? Do you not care for conservation efforts? There are people in Michigan who wouldââ
âOkay, Dami,â interrupts another voice.
Jasonâs whole body flushes. He makes sure every part of him except his face is hidden behind the door when a second person comes into view.
Your vigilante costume is zipped halfway, the top pulled down and sleeves tied around your waist, exposing the compression shirt with kevlar-like weave you wore beneath it. A large bandage is wrapped around your upper arm, growing redder by the second.
âHi, Y/N,â Jason says. Does he sound too excited? Does he not sound excited enough?
You just smile. âHey, Jace. Sorry, we came by for first aid supplies. Weâll be out of your hair in just a sec.â
âNo, donât rush on my account,â Jason says. Does he sound too desperate? âJust give me aââ
He ducks back into the bathroom to turn off the shower after making sure heâs clean and one hundred percent soap-free. Not expecting company, heâd only brought a pair of boxers and military-style shorts in with him. Rushing, hoping you donât leave before he gets out (Damian can leave, though) he pulls both on and slams the door open.
It hits the wall so hard it rebounds back into Jasonâs hand. You jump at the sound, nearly poking Damian with the needle in your hand.
âWatch it, idiot!â Damian snaps. To Jason, he says, âYou just dented your wall. Moron.â
âDonât talk to them like that,â Jason says sternly. God, he knows why the brat is so prickly, but he still got on Jasonâs last nerves. He checks the wall, hoping the brat exaggerated, but nope. Another dent to match the nicks, scrapes, and bullet holes that already littered his apartment.
He is never getting back his security deposit.
Youâre about to stitch up a cut on Damianâs arm when Jason clucks his tongue. âThat doesnât look good.â The bandage around your arm is sodden with blood.
âItâs not as bad as it looks,â you say dismissively. âReady, Dami?â
Interestingly enough, the brat doesnât tell you off for giving him a nickname. It seems to be a privilege reserved exclusively for you and Dick; every time Jason tries, heâs vehemently told off.
Then again, his nicknames are usually derogatory. That might contribute to it a little bit.
Damian sets his jaw and you stitch him up quickly, murmuring, âIâm sorry,â every time his fingers twitchâthe only indication of pain heâll show. Jason eyes the bandage around your arm with worry, but the blood stain doesnât grow any more in the interim.
As soon as you tie off the thread, Damian hops to his feet and scurries for the bathroom. You start to get up, brow pinched with worry, but Jason says, âLet me look at your arm.â
Your eyes take a while to slide from the shut bathroom door to Jasonâs face, but then you say, âYeah, okay,â and sink back into your chair.
To distract you as he unpeels the sticky bandage from your arm, Jason asks, âSo youâre on babysitting duty now, huh?â
âOh, no, Damian and I patrol together every Friday night.â You use finger quotes with the other hand and say, âB think it âpromotes more accountabilityâ when someone gets injured during patrol if they have a partner.â
Jason frowns at the sight of the cut. Itâs obviously from a knife, and not pretty, exactly, but also not big enough to let out as much blood as soaked through the bandage. âWho did this to you?â
âJust a typical goon. Itâs really not a big deal.â Your eyes follow Jasonâs gaze. âI guess it bled a lot, huh? Like a head wound. You know, disproportionate.â You tug your sleeve over the wound.
âY/N is not as weak as the rest of you,â Damian sneers, having vacated the bathroom on silent feet. You jump, and so does Jason, even though he has Batman-honed instincts.
Thereâs just something intoxicating about your presence. Youâre⌠distracting.
It was manageable back before Jason was Robin and you were one of his classmates. You were obsessed with Batman and crimefighting, and Jason was a bookworm, so your friendship shouldnât have worked, but it did.
Then, ironically, Bruce Wayne adopted him and Jason became the crimefighter. He never told you about his identity to protect Bruceâs, but you figured it out when he died.
Then he came back to Gotham, hellbent on revenge, and burned every bridge heâd ever built. Including the one with you.
Jason still could barely believe you give him the time of day after all the awful things heâd said and done. But youâre just as obsessed with redemption and forgiveness as Bruce, and he will never take that for granted.
His fascination with you was manageable before Jason died, but itâs downright consuming now.
Jason canât believe how youâd grown up to be so⌠so flat-out amazing. Graceful, and maybe not as skilled at hand-to-hand as the rest of Gothamâs vigilantes, but you adapt with a long-range fighting style. Youâre strong, and self-assured, and really, seriously gorgeous.
Jason realizes his hand is still on your arm, touching the soft skin, and he yanks it away as if burnt. He doesnât understand how you remain so scar-free despite years of crimefighting, and heâs abruptly self-conscious about the marks that litter his torso, arms, and legs. Your eyes roam over them, lingering on his chest and stomach
Heâs most self-conscious about the jagged âJâ carved into his cheek, and Jason tries to cover it with his hand without drawing attention. That doesnât workâhe looks like a weirdo waving his hands aroundâso he tilts his cheek away so you donât have to see it anymore.
You clear your throat and look away, as if embarrassed for some reason.
Damianâs gaze pingpongs between the two of you before he rolls his eyes, sighing dramatically. âAre you two finished?â
You push away from the table and make a grabby hand. Damian rolls his eyes again, but he sidles closer, and you check his stitched cut. Your thumb rubs over the raised line of stitches like youâre trying to wipe his pain away.
Jason realizes heâs staring at the bottom lip youâre jutting out in sympathy. He flushes again.
After everything he did, he canât expect anything more than friendship from you. If thatâs what youâre willing to give, heâll never push for more.
âI am fine, Y/N,â Damian said, pushing your hand away, albeit gently. A hint of whine entered his voice and Jason blinked. It wasnât often that he heard Damian sound like an actual kid. âCan we resume patrol now?â
âWait,â Jason hears someone say, and itâsâhim, heâs the one saying it. âAre you hungry? I have a casserole in the oven.â
Damian snorts. âMy apologies. I did not know you had adopted the personality of a middle-aged white womââ
You cover Damianâs mouth with your hand and say, âThat sounds great, Jay. Thanks.â
Jasonâs greedy. Heâll take whatever scraps he can get from you.
The three of you eat, the conversation pleasant whenever Damian isnât threatening Jason because Jason taunted him. You laugh as they bicker, used to the antics of Gothamâs vigilantes by now.
Once everyone is done, itâs just about time for the Red Hood to start his patrol, so with a little cajoling from you, Damian agrees to let Jason tag along until your patrol ends. Jason suits up, and you lead the charge out of his apartment window, followed by Damian. Jason is last out, stopping briefly to make sure the window latches before stepping off the fire escape.
The sensation of his stomach rising is familiar from so many years of grappling through the city, but no less exhilarating. He follows your and Robinâs flipping shapes as the two of you tear through the city. The bright primary color accents on Robinâs suit and the pale gray color of your own shouldnât blend in so well with Gothamâs shadows, but you and Damian manage pretty well. It turns into kind of a game of tag, and whenever he gets close enough, you grin and twist away, muffling laughter behind one hand.
He could definitely catch you, but he thinks youâre enjoying the game of cat-and-mouse just as much as he, if not more.
Jasonâs just thinking to himself that thereâs not much crime tonight when the Batsignal lights up the sky.
âWay to ruin the mood,â he grumbles. The game is over. The three of you grapple toward the giant light without any more flipping or laughter.
Jim Gordon obviously isnât expecting them when they land. After all, itâs common knowledge that Ghoul is a Bat-affiliate, but Red Hoodâs alliance with the Batclan is still relatively new. Shaky.
And a lot of people still think the Red Hood hates Ghoul. Admittedly, the way Jason tried to kill you when he returned hadnât helped the rumors.
It made sense at the time. Heâd also tried to kill Batman, Nightwing, and Robin, so itâs not like it was entirely personal. You donât hold a grudge.
âWhereâs Batman?â is his first question.
You shrug. âRunning late.â
Jasonâs not sure if thatâs true. With you and Robin patrolling Newtown and Otisburg, Spoiler and Red Robin handling everything from the Coventry to the Upper East Side, and Black Bat and Batwing watching over everything else but the Tricorner, the city is in pretty good hands for the night.
And yes, Jasonâs knowledge about patrol schedules is from his days as a crime lord, but it still comes in handy as a reformed vigilante.
âWhy did you summon us here, Commissioner?â Robin asks.
âBane escaped Arkham earlier tonight,â says the Commissioner. âWe have reason to believe heâs hiding out in Amusement Mile. The Jokerâs not out, for one, and we have a⌠witness⌠that claims to have seen Bane in the park.â
âWhere is this witness?â Robin demands.
âIn our holding cell, sobering up,â Gordon says with a long-suffering sigh.
âOh, great,â Jason says. âSo it might have been Bane, or it might have been one of those giant stuffed bears at every amusement park.â
You elbow him in the side and promise Gordon, âWeâll check it out, Commish. Let you know when heâs handled again!â
You and Robin balance on the edge of the roof. Jason asks in a low tone, âBatmanâs not coming tonight, is he?â He would have already been here.
You and Robin share a guilty look.
Jason sighs. Bane is a tough opponent, possibly their strongest rogue. Itâll take a lot of force to bring him down⌠force heâs not sure you and Robin can muster. Youâre good vigilantes, donât get him wrong, but Robin is a prepubescent boy and has the height and muscle mass to show for it. Youâre strong and graceful and should be fine as long as you keep your distance, but Jasonâs the only one that comes close to Bane in terms of muscle mass.
Itâll be up to him to keep the two of you safe.
âI think I parked my bike somewhere around here,â you say. âItâll get us there faster than grappling.â
Jason thinks something is stuck in his throat. He croaks, âYou have a motorcycle?â
You nod. He canât see your face beneath the mask, but heâs pretty sure youâre smiling. âGot it just a couple weeks ago, but I needed Earl to paint it over.â
âIt is parked in that alley.â Robin points.
âOkay,â Jason says. âYou two drive to my apartment. Iâll follow above, then weâll head to Amusement Mile.â
âAye-aye,â you joke. âCome on, bud.â
You and Robin swing away, the younger boy loudly complaining about the myriad nicknames you think up for him. Jason swings away to get a headstart. A minute later, the sound of a bike engine revving hits Jasonâs ears, and it isnât long after that he looks down to see you and Robin on a pale bike painted in the same colors as your suit.
You look up and wave.
Jason almost misses his next swing. He swallows and has to look away. Seeing you on a motorcycleâŚ
As soon as he puts the key in his bikeâs ignition, you speed away, tires squealing against the asphalt. Jason grins and twists the throttle. He shoots onto the street and hunches low to decrease wind resistance, pushing the bike hard to catch up to you.
You wear no helmet, but youâd forced Robin to wear one. He sits behind you on the bike, arms locked around your waist. At the sight of Jason, he makes a rude gesture, but Jason just huffs out a laugh. The brat likes to aggravate him on purpose, but itâs hard to feel annoyed when he drives next to you, racing side-by-side.
It doesnât take long to reach Amusement Mile. You and Jason shift gears, rolling to a stop.
âYou and Robin go high,â Jason instructs. âIâll go low.â
âRoger.â You kick the stand for your bike, then you and Robin shoot your grapples for the nearest roof.
In seconds, the two of you are out of sight.
Jason swallows. He hates this strip of clown-themed land. The Joker isnât in it currently, but it still reminds him of that madman.
Come on. He shakes himself. Jason canât afford to get distracted. Bane is dangerous.
Jason makes no effort to muffle the sounds of his footsteps as he strolls through the park. A plastic bag drifts along the path with a gust of wind, and a couple bowling pins on the ground roll. But apart from that, the park is empty and quiet.
Too quiet.
Jason turns just in time to avoid a crushing blow to his head.
He hits the ground rolling and comes up with guns blazing. Bullets deflect off Baneâs armor, and he doesnât seem to feel the ones that burrow into his skin.
âYou will not stop me, Red Hood,â says the mechanized voice. âNo one will stop me in my pursuit to break Batman, even though he sent you in his place.â
âHe didnât send me,â says Jason.
Help comes from above. A steel bolaâone of your weapons of choiceâwhips through the air and wraps around Baneâs throat. He chokes and reaches up to untangle it. At the same time, a Batarang slices through the air and cuts straight through one of the hoses pumping super-steroid into his body.
He groans. Drops to one knee.
Jason spares a glance to the rooftops, but he only sees Robin.
That moment of distraction costs him. Bane surges back to his feet and tackles him. Jason hits the ground, the back of his head colliding against the pavement so hard his vision blacks out for a moment.
He blinks away the darkness in time to see a punishing fist aimed right for his head. Thereâs not enough time to dodge. Jason can only brace for an impact⌠that never comes.
The hook of a grapple is embedded into Baneâs wrist. Its line is taught. On the roof of a decrepit popcorn stand, Robin yanks back with all his might.
Jason knees Bane in the crotch, then elbows him in the face.
Bane grunts and yanks his arm forward, pulling Robin right to the ground in a flutter of cape, but Jason slips out from beneath him and rolls to his feet. Bane may be strong, and his hits may hurt, but thatâs only if they connect. And Bane isnât very fast.
The engine of a bike roars, and your voice shouts, âHood, out of the way!â
Jason obeys without thinking. Itâs a good thing he doesnât hesitate, because he barely dodges your motorcycle before you ram it full-speed into Bane.
Not even the giant can resist a motorcycle going full-throttle. He topples back, and you keep driving, treating his body like a ramp.
Jason laughs despite himself. âI can see tire tracks on your face, ugly!â He and Robin throw knives at the same time. Robinâs slices off another steroid line. Jasonâs lodges in Baneâs shoulder. It should have severed his deltoid, leaving his arms useless, but the man doesnât react to the pain at all.
Getting run over pisses Bane off. You turn in a sharp circle on the bike and rev your engine, obviously ready to try the same trick twice.
But Jason sees the tension in Baneâs legs, and heâs shouting for you to stop after you start.
You donât listen. You just drive.
Bane sidesteps your bike at the last possible second, and his arm shoots out. His hand is large enough to wrap around your entire throat, and it yanks you off your bike, which skids away with a screech of tire and metal. You choke, scrabbling at the iron fingers around your throat.
Jason has his gun out in a second, but Bane holds your body in front of his. So Jason shoots his foot. It doesn't have an effect.
âGhoul!â Robin shouts. He unsheathes his katana.
âI tire of this,â Bane says through his modulator.
He snaps your neck.
âNO!â
Itâs like the world slows down. Jason can only watch as Bane carelessly drops your lifeless body.
He sees Robin lunge with his sword. He sees Bane casually backhand him so hard he drops his katana. Robin flies backward, hits the popcorn stand, and slumps to the ground, motionless.
Bane steps on youâyour bodyâand something in your spine cracks. Something in Jasonâs chest cracks, too, and he sees green.
The Pit surges.
After it recedes, Robinâs katana is lodged firmly in a moaning Baneâs side. Every one of his steroid pumps is severed, and his mask is cracked. Heâs weak enough without his Venom that three Bat-restraints and a set of handcuffs can hold him.
Huh. Jasonâs surprised he didnât kill him.
His knuckles are bleeding; theyâre slick inside his gloves. When he flexes his fingers, pain screams up his nerves, through his arm all the way to his heart. At least two are broken, and another knuckle might be dislocated. His jaw hurts, his brain is poundingâconcussion, probablyâand his knee feels swollen. But he can put pressure on it, at least, and he limps to a stirring Robin.
âHey,â Jason says. His voice is rough. He doesnât remember yelling. He tries to crouch, but canât with the stiff knee, so he just kind of collapses in front of the kid. âRobin. Status report.â
The kid looks at him, wobbling even though heâs sitting down. One hand goes up to touch the back of his head, and the tips of his gloves gleam with dark blood when he pulls it back. âPossible concussion,â he says with a wavering voice. âRibsââ
Robin gasps and stumbles to his feet.
âDonâtââ
Jason tries to grab him, but Robin wobbles out of his reach. He walks hunched over in a zigzag, limping to yourâ
Jason grunts and stands back up. âHey, hey, Robin.â He gets between the kid and you. âDonât. Donâtâdonât look.â
âDo not stop me, Todd,â hisses the kid, and wow, he must be seriously out of it to use Jasonâs civilian name. âLet me see them.â
âYou donât want to,â Jason says grimly. Heâs seen snapped necks before, and theyâre⌠Well, theyâre as unnatural-looking as they sound.
He hears a rushing in his ears. A wave of grief is cresting, ready to sweep him away, but Jason has to keep it together for Robin. He barely hears his own voice when he says, âGhoulâs gone.â He canât say the âDâ word. Not when he feels like puking.
âUnhand me, you blackguard,â Robin hissed. âYou do not understand. They might beââ
âTheyâre not.â
âTodd!â the kid says, voice rising into a shrill.
Something clicks behind them.
Jason whirls around to make sure Bane hasnât broken out of his restraints.
He hasnât.
So what made the noise?
He and Robin are looking right at the body when some invisible force takes your head andâand wrenches it.
Robin lets out a low cry.
Jason feels frozen. He doesnât stop the kid when he stumbles forward and collapses next to the body. His shoulders shake, head bowed with grief.
Jason is still watching when he sees your chest rise and fall with a breath.
âOh, what the fuck,â he whispers, stumbling back. âWhat the fuck, what the fuck, what theââ
Your head raises, and you reach to your neck with a wince.
Robin freezes.
âOw,â you grumble, pushing up to your elbows. âThat sucked.â
âWhat the fuck?â Jason exclaims.
âWhat is going on?â Robin demands.
You look between the two vigilantes. âSorry to freak you out, guys.â Which is a completely underwhelming thing to say when you just died and then unsnapped your own neck.
Robin makes a low, wounded sound, then throws himself at you, wrapping his arms around your neck and squeezing hard. You hug him back just as tight, murmuring low things that Jason tries not to hear. Itâs a personal moment, and he feels like an intruder, but he canât move. His feet are planted to the ground.
Seconds ago, youâd been dead. No doubt about it. Bane had snapped your neck and you had crumbled like paper.
Now youâre breathing and alive.
It doesnât compute. It doesnât make any sense.
Robin comes to the same conclusion, because he pulls away and pinches your arm. âHow is this possible?â
âBud, do you remember when⌠you remember when Pyg got me, right?â
âOf course.â
âWell, I donât,â says Jason. Professor Pyg kidnapped you? What the fuck? When did that happen?
You look up at him, still holding Robin close. âWe werenât exactly on speaking terms when it happened, Hood.â
Oh.
âBut Father ran his tests and said his experimentation just gave you advanced healing,â says Robin.
âWhich is technically trueââ
âResurrection is quite different from healing!â the kid says.
âWait, you knew they had powers?â Jason asks Robin.
The kid sneers at him. âOf course. I was the one that found Ghoul, and I patrol with them at least once a week. It would take an unobservant fool to miss their obvious healing abilities."
Jason bristles with indignation.
Robin's head turns on a swivel to glare at you. "It was less obvious that you have nothing to fear from physical injuries. Informing me of this fact would have greatly reduced the chances of experiencing emotional distress at the sight of your dead, mangled body."
"I know," you say, cupping his chin in your hand. "I'm really, really sorry, Dami."
"Do not address me as such," he says, "we are in costume." Robin huffs and scrambles out of your lap, brushing debris off his suit. Then he wobbles and nearly falls over, and you lunge to catch him.
"Woah, bud, you okay?"
"He's concussed," Jason says.
"Too concussed to ride on the back of my bike?"
"Of course not," says Robin. Then he leans over and pukes.
"Oh, Batman's gonna kill me," you mutter.
It's a much tamer drive to the Batcave, in case Robin rolls off the bike accidentally. He doesn't, but you do have to stop a couple of times so he can lean over the side and retch.
When all is said and done and you're back at the Cave and Alfred and Bruce are fussing over Damian, you and Jason hang back a bit. He can't stop sneaking glances at you. Your Ghoul mask is off, and there's a little dried blood around your nostrils, and your hair is a little sweaty, but you're the most beautiful thing Jason's ever seen.
You're alive. He can hardly believe it.
You suddenly sigh and mutter, "I guess you're mad at me, too?"
"What?" Jason startles.
"For not telling you about my abilities."
"Y/Nâ"
"I just didn't want you guys to think of me differently. Duke has his powers, yeah, but he was born with them. I got mine from Pyg. I didn't want everyone to start treating me like a victim."
All things considered, you're remarkably well-adjusted for someone that survived Professor Pyg's experimentation. "You're the strongest person I've ever met, Y/N," says Jason. "Your powers don't change that. They make me feel a little better about you patrolling at night, anyway. They're basically like... a second chance."
You snort. "I think I'm on my fifth chance by this point."
Jason shakes his head. "How did you keep your powers a secret, again?"
"Well, the first time, Pyg shut off my heart, but that didn't shut down my body. When I actually noticed that I couldn't die, though, was that time one of Cobblepot's goons stabbed me in the neck and I woke up in the middle of a shootout. Now that wasn't fun." You grimace. "A bullet caught me in the head and I died as soon as I sat up. The Bats were too preoccupied to notice me, luckily. Then there was that time with the poison dart that I kept a secret, and now this time." You smirk, cross your arms, and bump Jason's hip with your own. "I'm beating you in the resurrection department, aren't I?"
Jason huffs, pretending to be offended, and your eyes widen. "Oh, my God. That was in such poor taste. I'm so sorry."
"No," he says, trying to hide the twist of his lips. If it was anyone else saying it, Jason would probably kill them. "No, it's okay. I'm just glad you're all right. It would have been awful if you'd died and I never took the chance to..."
"Chance to what?" You look up at him through your eyelashes.
Jason's breath catches in his throat. He's never done this before, dammit, but seeing you die today made him remember just how limited their time is as vigilantes.
Well, maybe not yours, but he walks a thin line.
"Doyouwanttogetcoffeewithme?"
You blink. "What?"
"Do you," Jason says slowly, feeling sweat prickle on his hairline, "want to... Um. Get coffee? With me. As in, likeâ"
"A date?"
"Only if you want to."
You nod, eyes sparkling. "Hell yeah I want to!"
Damian, Bruce, and Alfred look over at your raised voice. Their disapproving smiles are all eerily similar.
"Sorry," you whisper. You look back at Jason and say, "Yeah, I'd like that. I've been waiting ages for you to ask."
Yes. You said yes. Adrenaline rushes through Jason's veins, and he only barely resists the urge to pump his fist in the air like a moron. He's brave enough to tease, "Well, why didn't you ask me?"
Your face flushes and you look away.
It's at that moment that Damian calls, "Y/N. Stop twittering with Todd and come here. Your presence is required."
"Seriously," Jason said under his breath, "the way he talks like a Victorian child doesn't bother you at all?"
You're smiling. "I think he's adorable." You walk backwards to the brat, making a phone gesture with your hand and mouthing to Jason, Call me.
He definitely will.
"Master Jason," comes Alfred's disapproving voice when he turns back to his bike. "Don't think I didn't notice that you have your own injuries to tend to."
Of course, that sets off Bruce's worry alert even more.
Jason groans. He won't be able to sneak out for coffee with you for an entire week after this whole debacle.

The Plurality of... Bill Cipher (The Book of Bill)
Spoiler Warning for Gravity Falls, The Book of Bill, and the nature of reality as you know it
Hello dear reader.
I recently found in my possession a strange book with no explanation as to how it got there. A bizarre tome known only as The Book of Bill.
I recognized the name and imagery from someone else's memories. Bill Cipher, a character from Alex Hirsch's hit series Gravity Falls.
It honestly seemed too perfect. I've been doing this "Plurality of..." series where I look at plurality in media. And an important part of Bill's shtick was possession.
It seemed simple enough. I can read the book, learn a bit about Bill and his possession, and then write an article about his plurality. But the reality was anything by simple, with far more than I bargained for.
And by the end of this post, this book will have driven me to break a fundamental rule I've held sacred through my "Plurality Of..." series.
What is Plurality?
Before we begin, I should explain what plurality is for anyone new here. Plurality is a term for being multiple in one body in some way.
We call the body's occupants "headmates". These can be anything from alters in dissociative disorders to spirit guides bound to a mortal, to... yes... even literal demonic possession.
Yeah, even being possessed by a demonic triangle from a 2-dimensional universe is a type of plurality. If there are multiple self-conscious agents of some kind there, it's plural!
Time To Get Weird!
(Art by magentasnail)
Let's catch you up on the basics real quick. Again, there will be huge Gravity Falls spoilers.
In Gravity Falls, Bill Cipher is a yellow a 2-dimensional triangle demon bent on causing chaos.
Through the series, Bill makes deals with multiple characters to possess their bodies. This includes both gaining full control over the body of protagonist Dipper Pines for an episode, and more interestingly, sharing control over the body of Stanford Pines for an extended period of time.
Bill's possession of Dipper left Dipper outside his body like a ghost. But his deal with Stanford is much more plural in nature, where they shared control, with Bill only controlling the body in his sleep.
Obviously real plural systems don't have headmates controlling their body while they sleep like this, but the experience can be seen as analogous to dissociative identity disorder, where it's common to experience blackouts and "wake up" in situations unsure how you got there.
That's all you really need to know about Bill for the time being.
With that out of the way, it's time get weird and dive straight into the Book of Bill!
The Book of Bills
As I begin reading the Book of Bill, I'm given a warning from Stanford Pines that the book will rewrite itself based on the mind of the reader. This seems silly, and I of course dismiss the idea out of hand. Surely there's no way a book could change itself based on who's reading it.
As I venture further into this tome, I find the occasional point of interest. References to Bill living in people's brain, him being an idea, etc.
I stop briefly to ponder that. Why does Bill refer to himself as an idea? Isn't he canonically a being from a physical 2-dimensional world? Him being described as an idea is peculiar, but something I tuck away for the future.
The first thing I find that really piques my interest in regards to plurality is the multiple times that it's just referenced that there are multiple Bills in Bill's head. Such as when Bill refers to "the voices in his head" teaming up.
In the plural community, there's a concept known as median system.
A median system is typically a system which has separate parts that are less distinct from each other. There's a pretty solid case that Bill, having a bunch of Bills in his head, could be considered a median system on his own.
In fact, the book itself actually depicts communication between multiple Bills, in the form of an interview.
And throughout the interview, there are times where the Prime Bill seemingly gets annoyed at the interviewer's questions. As if they are actually different people. While this could be Bill simply duplicating himself and pretending for comedic effect, it could just as easily be that both Bills are headmates in Bill's system.
Bill being a median system is a pretty interesting direction.
As I read on though, the book dragged me down yet another rabbit hole, and raised an important question.
Does Bill Have A Dissociative Disorder???
Let's talk about dissociative identity disorder. There are two main criteria for DID. Criterion A is the presence of two or more distinct personality states. You know, like those Bills in Bill's head.
The second is memory loss.
Recurrent gaps in the recall of everyday events, important personal information, and/or traumatic events.
This is what was on my mind when Bill was describing how he was uniquely gifted with the ability to see into the third dimension, and wanted to teach others this same skill.
But when he tries to recount it... this happened...
To me, this sounds exactly what was described in criterion B. This is also called dissociative amnesia.
And it's not just this one-off example. Bill actually references later that he dissociates (his words) and "wakes up" later after a conquest.
With everything we know, it seems incredibly likely that Bill has DID, or at least a related disorder.
Bill is what he eats
Okay... wait...
So Bill can ALSO imprison the souls of those he eats inside himself, and they can apparently take over Bill's body too???
What actually is going on here? Is this one of Bill's powers? He can just eat entire universes and then whatever he consumes becomes a part of him? Or maybe it's something else...
Maybe if we looked at this less literally and consider the previous hints of Bill having a dissociative disorder then perhaps what is going on is that Bill is introjecting these people.
Maybe whenever he enters somebody's mind, some piece of them remains...
I would love to speculate more on this... But this is the only mention of it in the entire book!
At this point, I begin to reflect on the words at the beginning. Maybe it was true that the book was changing itself to give me what I wanted. Little hints of plurality to keep me reading, to ensnare me in its vicious trap and ultimately drive me to madness.
And the worst part was, I was falling into it anyway. Because I had to know, even if this was a trap, I was in it to the very end. My thirst for knowledge and understanding unquenchable.
Even if I knew I should stop here, there was no going back.
Stanford Pines, Bill's Perfect Host
At last, beyond all of the misdirects that were put in my way, I arrived at the reason that I started on this journey.
Stanford Pines.
I need to say that when I started this journey, planning to delve into what the plurality of Bill and Ford might be like, I never imagined that it would be handled so... Beautifully.
I mean that genuinely!
I love the relationship of these two characters in the book!
They are both very out of place in their own ways. Both are aware of things in their world that are denied by others, leaving them ridiculed and ostracized for it. They manage to form a genuine friendship. Even if Bill was using Stanford the whole time to achieve his Weirdmageddon.
The two compliment each other surprisingly well. Bill provides Stanford with a friend who can get him out of his comfort zone, which is something that I think Stanford really needed.
There's a really fun part of the book where Bill just gets Stanford mind-drunk, which is apparently something he can do.
Bill fills a role in Stanford's life that nobody had since he lost contact with his brother. While Stanford had friend in with Fiddleford, his lab partner, and we do get to see parts of that friendship in the book, they are more like work acquaintances.
Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Because in the end, Bill is still an evil demon who was bent on bringing about the Weirdmageddon and was manipulating Ford the whole time.
And when Stanford found out, he tried to shut Bill out. This led to Bill trying to communicate through sticky notes to get Ford to stop ignoring him. He would front in the body at night while Ford slept, and they carried on a conversation through these sticky notes.
Wait... Sticky notes?
This is such an interesting choice for the character! Especially after so many hints of Bill Cipher having some sort of dissociative disorder.
Why?
Because sticky notes are an actual method that real DID systems use to communicate with their alters, as seen in this post from the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) website.
It's fascinating how, if you were to try to depict how headmates with strong dissociative barriers might communicate, this is one of the ways you would want to do that!
Is this coincidental? Maybe. But the talk of dissociation earlier suggests the author also has at least some basic knowledge of dissociation and how it works. And, perhaps, plurality as well?
Overall, this whole section with Bill and Ford was fantastic, and it was well-worth the read for that on its own.
The End?
I suppose this is the end. I found what I wanted. I got the content I was after. A cool plural story of a guy and his headmate from another dimension who wants to take over the world.
Through all the strange distractions and hints of Bill himself having headmates that seemingly went nowhere, I got more plurality in the book than I expected.
And yet, as I turn the final page of the book, I feel unsatisfied. Unsettled.
"Is that it?" I think to myself.
This is Gravity Falls, a show built on mysteries, and looking deeper than the surface. Surely there has to be more. Right?
What if... all the plurality in this book, is obscuring something deeper? Or maybe hinting at something deeper...
And then... I see it!
After the final page, I come to the About the Author section.
Which means it's time to talk about...
The Plurality of... Bill Cipher Alex Hirsch
Yes, I am going there!
In the beginning, I promised that this post will require me to break a rule I've held sacred through these posts.
That rule... is to never speculate on the plurality of the author.
But, Alex Hirsch, at least in a fictional sense, hasn't exactly shied away from the idea of being "possessed" by Bill. This dates back at least a decade, with him making Tweets like this one.
"Bill Cipher" even did an AMA on Reddit through Alex, playing it off as Bill possessing Hirsch while he slept.
It's a pretty open secret in the Gravity Falls community that Alex Hirsch is "possessed" by Bill. At least in some meta-fiction way that may not be canon to Gravity Falls but isn't quite real either.
And were my analysis to stop here, I wouldn't really be saying anything new or valuable. A lot of this was covered by MatPat on Film Theory.
But there's something I want to go back to that confuses me in this book.
That Bill Cipher... is an idea?
Let's bring this full circle, back to the beginning of the book where Bill mentions that he's imaginary and describes himself as an idea.
These are such weird lines because Bill didn't seem to have originated from people's minds within the narrative of Gravity Falls.
His story is of being a being from a literal flat world. So why then, does he describe himself as an idea? Why does he describe himself as imaginary???
Bill Cipher as Alex Hirsch's Tulpa
While Bill being an idea doesn't make sense if he's speaking as a being from a 2-dimensional world that's real to him, it does make sense if we consider that the Bill talking to us, who wrote the Book of Bill, is a tulpa sharing the body of its creator.
Before going on though, we need to answer an important question. What is a tulpa? The r/tulpas subreddit gives its own answer to this in its FAQ.
The simplest way to describe a tulpa is simply another person who was created intentionally/unintentionally through repeated interaction and shares a body and mind with their creator. A more complicated definition can go as follows: A tulpa is believed to be an autonomous consciousness coinhabiting a brain with their creator, often with a form of their creator's initial choice and design. A tulpa is entirely sentient and in control of their opinions, feelings, form and movement. They are willingly created via a number of techniques to act as companions, muses, and advisers. Tulpa forms can either be visualized in the mind's eye, or, with practice, seen as a hallucinatory figure using a technique called imposition.
And let's stop there on the line about being created as muses, because this is something that's found repeated throughout both The Book of Bill and Journal 3, with Stanford referring to Bill as his "muse."
It's a curious term that doesn't appear in the show, but was added to the lore in these two supplemental books.
The FAQ goes on to explain that while tulpas are often considered to be intentionally created, there are also accidental tulpas that can arise through imaginary friends or from writing characters.
Is it possible to accidentally make a tulpa? Yes - many people join the community after realizing they have had tulpas all their lives, but without knowing what they were called. These "accidental" tulpas often arise from imaginary friends and writing/roleplay characters.
On the point of roleplay characters, something I also haven't mentioned yet is that Alex Hirsch didn't just write the character of Bill Cipher. He WAS Bill Cipher. In the show, Bill is one of the characters Hirsch voices along with Grunkle Stan and Soos.
Writing tulpas and how they come about are discussed a bit more below:
Is this a new phenomena? No, it's a practice that goes back in recorded history at least as far as the Greek philosophers. The present name of the phenomenon is derived from the word used by Tibetan monks in the early 20th century. There's also evidence to suggest dedicated prayer can lead to the development of 'religious tulpas' in the minds of the particularly devout, and on the secular end, writing techniques similar to tulpa development techniques can and have resulted in writers creating accidental tulpas from their characters. Having a tulpa is nothing new, although it's gone by many names throughout the course of history and does so even today. However, we believe we are one of the first groups to address this practice as a psychological phenomena rather than a magical, occult or divine experience.
Tulpamancy and Attention
There was another passage from the book that I found noteworthy.
At the end, Stanford describes what truly sustains Bill isn't power, but attention, which Stanford describes as Bill's "lifeblood."
It's even underlined for emphasis.
Why is this important? Well first, this line goes back to the weird lines earlier suggesting Bill is an idea.
But more importantly, feeding on attention is something which is actually a pretty popular philosophy in tulpamancy. That tulpas feed on and are sustained by the attention of their hosts.
How do I give my tulpa energy? Tulpas are sustained by attention, and energy is a convenient metaphor for this. So, you can give your tulpa energy by interacting with them. It is also possible, through no shortage of work and time on the part of host and tulpa alike, for a tulpa to grow beyond this need and to learn how to sustain themselves.
How much attention/energy/interaction does my tulpa need? During the creation process you should aim to interact with your tulpa daily, anywhere from a few minutes up to a few hours, and narrating to them as and when you can. After they're fully vocal and active, the bare minimum is just acknowledging their existence, but spending time talking to them and interacting with them is very much the point of bringing them into existence. Just don't ignore them, and you'll both be fine.
On Parallels in Writing
Adding another layer, it's likely that Stanford Pines is at least partially based on Alex Hirsch himself.
One point of trivia is that Alex Hirsch has a twin sister, and Gravity Falls was inspired by vacations they would take as children. Dipper and Mabel being based on Alex and his sister is pretty well-known. But towards the end of season 2, it's revealed that their Grunkle Stan is a twin himself, with his brother being Stanford Pines, the author of the journals.
During this part of the story, it starts creating a parallel between the relationships of the younger and older twins, with Dipper (who is based on Alex) bonding with Stanford over how much they have in common. Both are nerds who are into writing and science and uncovering the mysteries of the world. Both are a bit socially awkward as well.
And while not much attention is drawn to this particular connection, both had experiences of making deals with Bill that let Bill takeover their bodies at different points.
Based on the parallels between Dipper and Stanford, one might speculate that Alex based Dipper on his younger self, while Stanford was loosely based on himself as an adult.
The personalities of these two characters are also the most likely to create a tulpa based on the psychological profiles of most tulpamancers.
In 2016, Dr. Samuel Veissiere, a psychiatry professor at McGill University, found the following in his study of tulpamancers:
From coding of qualitative interviews collected in large surveys, the most common tulpamancer profile to emerge is one of a highly cerebral, imaginative, highly articulate, upper-middle class, formally educated person with many consistently pursued interests, talents, and hobbies, but limited channels of physical social interaction. Typical tulpamancers are confident about their talents, but are quite modest and socially shy. They possess â or have cultivated â a high propensity for concentration, absorption, hypnotisability, and non-psychotic sensory hallucinations.
The psychological profile of tulpamancers fits both Dipper and Stanford to a t. And many of these same traits could just as easily be true for Alex Hirsch if these characters were meant to be stand-ins for himself.
Is Alex Hirsch trying to tell us that he's plural?
In the end, this is just a theory. And it's one that I feel nervous making because plurality is so deep and personal. That's why I've avoided speculating on the plurality authors in the past. Even when the writing feels so true to the plural experience that it's hard to imagine that someone who isn't plural wrote it.
So why am I making an exception with this one?
Well, in this particular case, I think that the breadcrumbs are being left intentionally, and if he is plural, then he expects somebody to follow them. I'm not worried that I would be outing somebody who didn't want others to find out.
With Alex Hirsch's love of codes and clues and mysteries, if he were plural, I have to imagine that the hints weren't accidental and he would be wondering if anybody would follow them.
And if I am completely off base and he's not plural, I think that he would still appreciate the theorizing anyway. đ¤ˇââď¸
But if these are intentional clues that were left behind to hint at a real life plurality, one might ask why.
Why would he want people to know about it, and hint at it in this way?
Well, I think the Book of Bill might have an answer to that too.
Shame is a powerful emotion. But it grows in the dark. The more I've tried to hide my past with Bill, the more hold it's had over me.
Perhaps this line is meant to reflect Alex Hirsch's own feelings. Because many plural systems have felt this same way about their plurality, having hide their relationships to their headmates.
The actual end now
Finally, we come to the real ending of this.
This is, again, just a theory. I don't want anyone taking it as fact. I admit that I could be completely wrong about everything that I've said here.
But if nothing else, it's at least fun to imagine that Alex Hirsch does have a Bill Cipher tulpa in his head that has been acting as his muse this whole time. And it would give a new meaning to the gag of the Weirdmageddon intro saying Gravity Falls was "created by Bill Cipher" all those years ago.
Thanks for reading, and if you have your own muse that you think might be more than a simple muse, be sure to read my guide on how to know if your imaginary friend is sentient.

Dissecting the post-Sunday conversation between Ratio and Aventurine
This conversation is not, as many are interpreting, proof of Dr. Ratio's loyalty.
It couldn't be: they are still in the dreamscape, where the Family's eyes and ears are everywhere. No, this is a post-mission debrief, heavily encoded and disguised as a quarrel.
Dr. Ratio: You look pale. Or, is that also part of your act? Aventurine: Didn't think you'd have the nerve to show yourself. Dr. Ratio: I thought this was exactly what you wanted. After all, I faithfully fulfilled my duties as you instructed. Dr. Ratio: Just tell me if you can't hold on any longer. Aventurine: So, the "genius" of the Council of Mundanites wants to be my undertaker now? My⌠what an honor.
First part of the convo. Aventurine is playing his part perfectly. Heâs acting angry and hurt: Ratio you rotten betrayer.
Interestingly, Ratio is slipping. Are you ok? Tell me if you canât hold on. It almost sounds like he's a bit unsure about what happened. "I thought this was what you wanted", like he's asking for reassurance in some form.
Aventurine has to work hard to drag Ratio back on-script. "Have you forgotten, Doctor? You betrayed me." It's a hint and a reminder: stick with the plan, Doctor!
Dr. Ratio: Yes, and I'm pretty sure the people at the Strategic Investment Department would love to be notified of your death in due time, but let's not forget you won't be seeing them, because I'm the manager of this task. Aventurine: Great, then tell your people that Aventurine is ready to go in seventeen system hours.
Ratio asks for instructions (disguised as a taunt), and Aventurine provides them. I'm not entirely sure what instructions were given. It seems to be What should I tell the IPC? / Here's what you tell them.
Aventurine: My conversation with Sunday convinced me that there's a traitor in The Family, and that they hold the secrets of Penacony⌠So, I took the opportunity to set everything in motion. Aventurine: I even managed to recover the gift money. Things haven't gone this smoothly since I walked through the doors of The Reverie⌠Now, I'm only one step away from victory. Let's just wait and see.
Confirms that everything is on track. I believe the line about the gift money is actually him confirming that he has the aventurine cornerstone.
Dr. Ratio: Sounds like a very elaborate way of saying that you failed. Aventurine: That's all I can say. Have you forgotten, Doctor? You betrayed me.
This sounds like a bit of a warning from Aventurine. Remember we can't say too much here.
Dr. Ratio: You've got a lot of nerve â how exactly do you plan on completing your task while you're hands are tied by The Harmony? [...] Dr. Ratio: That's true, but what's your plan? Did you conceal an Orbital Support beacon in that gift money bag?
This is interesting. Ratio doesn't know the full plan! I imagine he's tremendously on edge. He's fishing for info, again disguised as taunts, specifically info about how Aventurine is going to get himself outâbut of course, Aventurine can't say it out loud, not in the dreamscape.
Ratio is at the breaking point.
Dr. Ratio: Fine. Here, take this. Open it when you're on your last legs. You'll thank me.
YES this is what I was waiting for, the moment when his whole voice changes! His usual tone is very much like giving-a-speech. He pronounces each word and syllable with precision, and clearly enunciating all the ending consonants.
Not here though. It's all grumbles. I think this might be the first time we're seeing cracks, and the personal Dr. Ratio is showing through instead of the public-speaking one.
Aventurine: You catch on pretty fast, Doctor.
He caught on that he was supposed to play along and not say anything that outright gives the plan away. (In my opinion he was pushing it a bit.)
I wonder if that's why he pulls the sudden disappearing act. He's slipping up, and/or bad at saying good-bye. Can't trust himself to get another word out. đĽş

For those still in doubt that Will flayed/influenced Hopper in ST3âŚ
So when someone flays another basically what happens is, as Mike states they â[take] over their mindâ and âbasically become himâ.
Now, itâs very interesting how in ST3 we see Hopper act childish- but exclusively in ST3. The very same season Will desperately holds onto his childhood.
Itâs suspiciously very meta for him to say lines like this. Itâs intentional. The writers didnât just forget how to write Hopper. We are supposed to notice this abrupt shift in his persona and overall demeanour.
As Will says, he likes to hide. Interestingly enough Will and him share that in common. Note the âonly used me when he needed meâ. Same is true for Will using Hopper. Hopper still has moments where he is his ânormalâ self.
Whenever Hopper is âseriousâ, itâs really him. Whenever heâs emotional and kid-like, heâs under Willâs influence.
The Clues
So, letâs start by going over some of the major clues, shall we?
Him saying this to a Byers of course. Interesting writing choice.
The original script tells us that Will wears colourful clothes. Thatâs his style and he stands out because of it. Now it seems to be Hopperâs style all of a sudden too. Itâs even noted by officer Powell here that itâs surprising to see Hopper dress this way.
Play these transition scenes. The first one has Lucas asking Will for permission to take a shower, then we are shown Hopper showering. I suppose Will granted Hopper said permission. Then of course we have El asking âhow can you tell when someoneâs a host?â afterwards the first person we see is Hopper himself. A perfect example of a host. They answered her question!
We are often shown Hopper acting childish. Look at how heâs holding his pillow! We never saw him doing this in seasons prior. Then we have Murray outright calling him a âmanbabyâ and âchildrenâ.
When âHopperâ orders an alcoholic beverage he struggles with the pronunciation. Reminiscent of a young person attempting (but failing) to appear older and more mature.
We even are shown him being fed lines that came from a Byers.
Now for the major clue. Why oh why did they show Will while Mike explained that Hopper threatened him? Not just Will, but Will moving pieces on a board. Heâs essentially controlling things! Bending to his will, if you will. I mean it makes sense. We know Will was very jealous of Mike and El and complained about them! Just like Hopper, he wants them to break up. Perhaps even more than Hopper actually does.
Then we have Mike referring to him as crazy! Thatâs their special word, so naturally âHopperâ/Will does not take this well. Look at his face! He looks betrayed.
The References
Itâs extremely subtle, but we have another Byler/Jopper parallel here. Earlier in 3x01, we see Joyce holding Hopperâs left hand, very reminiscent of Mike holding Willâs right hand last season. Then we have Hopper communicating in Morse Code as he and Mike fight to lock/unlock the car door several times. Notice how we have a shot of his left hand doing the locking of the door? Same one Joyce held. Iâve tried to work out what heâs communicating but Iâm falling short. If anyone wants to take a stab at it please let me know your findings!
Then we have the Back to the Future references. Again very subtle, but there nonetheless. As we know, Will is compared to Marty Mcfly a fair bit, ever since his very first appearance!
Do you recall the plot of Back to the Future? Marty travels to the past, accidentally changes some things, then has to bring his parents back together! Will does the same thing⌠through Hopper!
And just like Marty⌠things get a tad bit awkwardâŚ
Now keep in mind⌠these scenes all occur within the same episode. While trying to set up his mother and Hopper together through âflayingâ Hopper, Will accidentally gets his mom interested in him (as Hopper). That is why he refers to Murray as âFreudâ aka the Psychologist who created the theory of âthe Oedipus Complexâ. This is also why Robin drops that line about of the movie.
So⌠How?
If you recall back in ST2, Hopper is spat on by something and was trapped in the UD. Will is able to sense him and thus is connected to him. Hopper is a part of Willâs hive mind. I also believe they may be biologically father and son⌠but thatâs for another post.
The Implications of All of ThisâŚ
So what does this mean? Iâm not fully sure, but it seems like Will has some abilities here. I have no idea if itâs future Will manipulating things, or present Will and Iâm not so sure how aware he is of all of this.
But in regards to Mike⌠here are some funny implicationsâŚ
ST3 shows us a Mike with a peculiar fascination with bears. Bears seem to be associated with Will and âbearâ has a specific other definitionâŚ
Now the icing on the cake with this is the fact that Mike has made comments regarding Hopperâs weight multiple times! So, heâs well aware of Hopperâs âbearâ status. Mike shows interest in bears because heâs interested in Will. Will essentially is a âbearâ while he is puppeteering Hopper.
Itâs also nice to know that Will actually did get that hug he yearned for from Mike. We just didnât realize it. Mike and âHopperâ hugged a tad longer than normal too while Will was facing them of course.
To conclude, I know this theory sounds so silly and I sound insane, but I swear to you⌠this is real. I may be wrong about some aspects of this but I know Will influenced Hopper in some way. Remember though, itâs not a constant thing. Will only âused him when he needed toâ. Will experienced being flayed in ST2, then he became the âflayerâ in ST3.
If you have any questions or comments about this theory feel free to send me an ask! These things are fun to think and talk about.

And yeah, it sucks, and Dean was cruel and murderous and dehumanizing, but on the other hand, 14 days isn't very long.
And yet, at 14 days, things were already starting to repair and heal with Jack just a little bit, even before Cas came back.
(I've seen it said that this didn't occur till after Cas came back, but in 13x04, Jack's behavior and personality are what began to thaw Dean out and, per the script, "put chinks in his armor.â)
///
Interestingly, even back in 13x02, Deanâs body language doesn't match his words. Here it reads as "move behind me."
///
By the end of 13x04, Dean and Jack are tentatively starting to like each other. They're even a little bit alike in this scene:
*THEM: not looking directly at each other as they say HEY awkwardly*
Jack: Hey.
*Dean, doing the same thing*
This is also maybe the first time Dean calls Jack by his name? (I'd have to check, but I think so.)
*Deanâs eyes flitting around nervously*
Dean: âYou did good today (pause) Jackâ
Yeah, I think you can make a well-argued case for something-something âconditional love.â
But given the Kelly-Cas brainwashing and everything else that came before, Iâd say itâs not unreasonable for Jack to like having established trust. To have earned trust.
Earning trust is important in all relationships, not necessarily always an evil âconditionalâ thing.

Then Dean goes and apologizes to Sam, saying that he was out of line during the therapy session and that he's sorry for being a dick lately.
It's sweet, but also, no one is being very empathetic to Dean and his losses. But I think by this point in Dean's life, Dean's not really expecting that either.
Heâs only able to get that support from one person in his life right now: Jody Mills. (13x03) Which is part of why he felt comfy taking the case with her, I think.
Later in this scene, in a break with his past tendencies, Dean will actually try to rely on Sam:
///
DEAN: And he tapped his power and saved our asses, so that's a win.
Sam was right about one thing, though. It wasn't Jackâs powers that impressed Dean, or even being saved. It was the effort.
(Jack's personality was already thawing Dean, too.)
///
The rest of the scene is sweet. Dean tries to see Sam's perspective, and Sam tries to see Dean's.
It's a trading of strength and hope, which is how real families are, too. Our strength and resilience wax and wane, and we share our burdens, but we try to share our hope, too.
This is a rare occasion: Dean is trying to share a burden; he lets Sam know how bad it really is.
(Dundundun! Ellen Harvelle would be proud.)
Dean is accepting that Sam isn't going to get there on his own. So he spells out his despair for him. The Cas of it all.
And Sam seems to get that itâs a Cas thing. That's clear in his behavior in the next episode. And Sam wants to be there for Dean, I don't think that's a lie, butâŚ
Sam ALWAYS wants Dean to tell him stuff like this, to talk out the big stuff. But one of Samâs hopes is that talking things out will fix them.
(Classic Type-A kinda mentality.)
But THIS? Casâs death isn't fixable, not quite as nebulous as the mom-in-Apocalypse-World-problem is. (In fact, I wouldn't put it past Sam to have been up all night researching, finding NO way to get Cas back. Alternatively, the constant casework could represent just utter denial.)
Anyhoo, Sam's grieving the losses too, but Dean is different. And unfortunately for Sam, John Winchester's grief was so horrendous and frightening that seeing Dean's, uh, particular kind of grief triggers Sam's panic response.
Just look at Samâs face here.
SAM's BRAIN: brrrrrrrr RED ALERT brrrrr RED ALERT
*Meanwhile*
///
Next episode (13x05):
We find Sam in a state of near-panic. Just look at that face:
And actually, looking at Sam's D8> hereâŚ
..I think it's possible that he TOTALLY knew what the PB&J stuff was about, and his brain went into a meat grinder of:
OH NO FUCK NO NO NOT THIS--I RECOGNIZE THIS. THIS KIND OF GRIEF RUINED MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!111

Don't Grieve in Front of Me Dean (analysis)
Don't Grieve in Front of Me Dean Redux (s7 analysis)
///
So.
Sam finds a case about best friends. Makes you wonder what he was googling to find it...
And Samâs distress surrounding the case is interesting, because he is behaving so DIFFERENTLY than he was in 13x02 and 13x03:
Dean: *cue surprise*
Dean is weirded out. Maybe he figured Sam would let him take a real break, or maybe it's just that the timing of Samâs suggestion of leaving Jack behind feels weird now.
Theyâve switched places.
Dean was eager to leave Jack in 13x03, and Sam was the one insisting on them staying with Jack to help him âlearn to control his powers.â
Now, in about two weeksâ time, Samâs likeââJack has TV! Weâll put up extra warding! Itâll be fiiiine!â
Deanâs brain, probably: Hmmm. Sam is trying to cheer me up, but wow are these about-faces on what's bad parenting and what's good parenting kinda fucked up.
///
And at the end of the episode, Dean tries again to tell Sam just how bad it is (mirroring Mary's willingness to offer up ânot being okayâ in s12):
And Sam is pretty much at sea.

Hello! Just wanted to say that I've been reading your posts and analyses for awhile now, and I really enjoy them! So, I also thought of sharing a sort of theory of mine, bc I'm very interested in hearing what you might think about it.
For starters, these lines from Jia Xichun are very intriguing:
ÂŤNo amount of pain could wake it from... whatever this dazed state it's in. As you can see...Âť
ÂŤ... it must've been long driven mad from pain. Reminds you of the tricks from back home that could induce such an effect, doesn't it? Big brother.Âť
For two reasons. 1. This is the first time (iirc) in the story where Hong Lu doesn't reply and stays silent and seemingly uneasy; 2. The fact that this "dazed state" as it is described actually kind of reminds of Hong Lu's usual behavior a bit?
To elaborate, after her lines the attention was drawn back to the Priest, and his face was described as "serene". And who's facial expression was also described in a similar manner, precisely, with a literal synonym? Of course, Hong Lu, during the TKT Intervallo:
ÂŤThe culprit wasn't the only one who suddenly began to behave strangely. Hong Lu did, too.Âť
ÂŤHis face relaxed into a tranquil look, as though he was ready to let something go.
... Or perhaps... that was an express of liberation.Âť
And also to mention how the Priest started reminiscing similarly to how Hong Lu tells stories about his family (but idk, I'm afraid I am starting to reach even harder for thisđ)
All in all, my theory, if you can call it that, is that perhaps those "tricks from back home" where actually performed on Hong Lu. This could potentially explain his constant aloofness, his reaction to Xichun's words (she brought up some of his traumatic memories?), and why exactly he has one of the most deranged IDs â because he has already been long driven mad from pain.
I really hope I worded this well enough, and I don't know if I sound like a lunatic or if I actually cooked something when I was thinking abt this at 2 am. And well, I'm also probably not the first one to think of this. But anyways, still thought this is worth bringing up!
Well, I hope you enjoy the Xichun Sin Analysis I just posted earlier then! That being said, there is something interesting I want to bring up with regards to this theory you pose, as it's tangentially related to the bits you reference and also it's been sitting in my head for a while now.
First point - I definitely agree that when Xichun brings up the "tricks" that can leave people in a similar state to the Priest, it's something Hong Lu has experienced himself.
We see Hong Lu has a tendency to avoid topics that bother him at all cost, like how he actively tries to redirect conversations in Hell's Chicken when he's being questioned regarding what he thinks could lead him into Distorting and when he senses Meursault is about to verbally lay into him. It's a tactic he employs very often as a distraction from the weirder things he says.
Interestingly enough, I believe Canto 7 is the first time we see Hong Lu avoid topics not through redirection, but through shutting down. That interaction you brought up isn't the first time in the Canto that he's rendered speechless either. In part 1, he's shown to respond with silence when both Rodya and Sinclair comment on their dislike of Xichun, being seemingly uncomfortable with the way they're talking about her.
And then there's a scene even earlier on in Part 1 that left a really, really major impression on me. Which. I can talk about now!
This, I believe, is the first time in Canto 7 where we see Hong Lu properly shut down in response to something. Something about what Xichun has said made him completely stop what he was doing earlier. His entire approach to the conversation changes in this moment. Earlier on he was excitedly asking questions, trying to give advice and gather information, but after this moment, Hong Lu is rendered completely passive, his lines being reduced to only responding to Xichun is saying in a very... honestly weird way.
It's not obvious in the transcript by itself, but his tone is... odd, compared to the way he was speaking earlier. In addition to that, every expression Hong Lu has during this conversation after this point are ones that actively have him not looking at Xichun, either using his closed eyes sprite or looking to the side sprite.
This moment struck me very, very heavily the first time I got to it in my plathrough. Part of it is because of the weird unnatural shift Hong Lu's behavior takes in this moment that I wasn't even consciously noticing until a reread. The other part is that the exact words Xichun says to Hong Lu that triggers this are ones that reminded me of something very specific in Dream of the Red Chamber.
There is a chapter fairly early on in Hong Lu's source novel that I can only describe as Bao-yu being verbally and emotionally abused by his father for the entire chapter. His father takes Bao-yu along as he shows off his garden to his acquaintances, and every time Bao-yu speaks up, whether by being prompted to or on his own, his father chastises him excessively. I don't remember the exact words, but the framing is pretty clear about the fact that Bao-yu's father sees his son's behavior as being a source of embarassment to himself in front of his acquaintances.
The kind of abuse shown in that chapter is downright stomach-churning in how realistically it is potrayed. It's genuinely upsetting and one of the main reasons I was unable to continue reading much further past that point.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Project Moon decided the thing that made Hong Lu have a shift in his behavior was being told him being himself is a cause of embarassment for someone else in his family. ...And I think Xichun's immediate reaction shows she realizes what is happening as well. It's very telling she doesn't bring up Hong Lu 'not getting better since the last time they've met' until this moment.
Because I don't think the thing he hasn't gotten better from is his upbeat, naive attitude. I believe it's his trauma response he's exhibiting right here. To become passive, downright submissive, and simply take everything that's being dealt to him without objections.
...Which segues nicely into the second point! Because the 'serene daze' shown on the Priest? The tranquility and peace Hong Lu exhibits in TKT, which is outright called out as strange by Dante? I believe it's the exact same as the trauma response I highlighted earlier. It's the immediate instinct to just lay down and take the pain because trying to fight back would only prolong the suffering.
The line about that expression being potentially "an express of liberation" is very telling. On the one hand, this Canto only further cements the fact that Hong Lu is just as passively suicidal as Yi Sang was before going through Canto 4. On the other, it directly ties back to Hong Lu potentially believing that the less resistance he shows, the sooner he'll be freed from suffering.
I already briefly went insane over the following line in a seperate post, but it feels extremely important to bring it up in here as well.
This line. This. Fucking. Line. Directly creates parallels between Oblivion and Naivete, drawing parallels between Donqui/Sancho and Hong Lu. And it's not that hard to see why.
We see that Donqui/Sancho's choice to embrace Oblivion, to completely try and erase her former identity and fall into a dream is motivated by her wishing to escape her reality, to stop thinking about the bloodshed and violence.
This line, and what we see of how Hong Lu acts throughout this Canto, is making it clear that Hong Lu's naive attitude, his constant willingness to assume the best of everyone around him, is just another part of his trauma response I've pointed out earlier.
It's how he escapes the violence he's been subjected to, the reality he's been living in. After all, the explanation he gives for why he wasn't afraid when the Time Killer tried to kill him... is because he understands why people want to hurt him. He didn't fight back when his siblings tried to kill him, because he knew why they would want to do that.
Because he tries to assume the best of everyone, tries to understand the reasons they do what they do, tries to be naively innocent, he's able to accept the pain and let it happen. Because if he can't, if he's forced to face none of what was done to him was justified... Well...
...This is where I would like to jump off and go on a tangent about my own theory. You see, you bring up the story the Priest starts telling to compare it to how Hong Lu acts with his anecdotes, but I think there's something much deeper going on with that story. Look at how the Priest begins it.
It's very clear the story he's telling is him directly comparing someone among the Sinners to Lorenzo, the Bloodfiend he's talking about. Dante's narration doesn't specify who the Priest means, as they only mentioned that "He looked at us", but it's clear from his words that he means a Single Specific Person here.
On my initial readthrough I assumed this was about Donqui, as this is her Canto after all, but... I no longer believe that's the case. In fact, I believe that the Sinner being used as a parallel to Lorenzo here is Hong Lu.
Let me give my evidence first.
One - We know the Priest, even in his daze, still recognizes Donqui as Sancho. The way he ends off his story says as much.
It's clear from his words and his actions that he's actively blaming Sancho for what happened to Lorenzo, and what he believes has happened to Cassetti as well. This would align with the feelings all of the named Kindreds we mett express towards her. So, to me at least, it's clear that the Priest wouldn't compare Sancho to Lorenzo in a way he has here.
Two - The framing of the scene and what follows later puts a lot of focus on Hong Lu.
Hong Lu is extremely present during this scene. Not only is the Priest compelled to share the story right after we see Hong Lu shut down at what Xichun has said, but the CG that follows his story inexplicably includes Hong Lu in it, listening intently.
And not only that, but soon after the Priest is taken away and SansĂłn tells another story, we get the moment of Donqui telling Dante she thinks it's Hong Lu's turn in the Golden Bough horrors.
If this were a game made by anyone else, I would take this as a self-aware joke pointing fun at how much focus Hong Lu has gotten in a Canto that's not his and move on. But this isn't anyone else.
This is Project Moon, who have a very Notable Track Record of hiding extremely important reveals and foreshadowing in one-off lines during comedic moments, especially in Limbus. See Canto 2 and Hell's Chicken. I genuinely believe the reason this joke exists here is to draw our attention not only to the parallels between Donqui/Sancho and Hong Lu, but also to the moments where Hong Lu is already the focus.
Three - The phrasing the Priest uses to refer to whoever he's comparing to Lorenzo.
The way he addresses this person and the rest of the group is very interesting, as there's emphasis put on his choice of the word "friends" to describe them. This feels important, as earlier on, in Part 1, Hong Lu himself denies Xichun's assessment that the Sinners are his faction, deliberately calling them his friends. Just like here the Priest calls the people accompanying the one he's directing the story at their friends.
So... what does that all mean for Hong Lu to be directly compared to Lorenzo? Well, let's take a quick look at what Lorenzo's story is.
Lorenzo is initially described as a Bloodfiend filled with positivity, to the point that the Priest thinks he didn't have anything to actually confess for. We see him think the way he's able to eat so many hemobars in one sitting as impressive, seeming completely oblivious to the the fact it's a clear sign the hemobars do nothing for Bloodfiends nutritionally.
This attitude completely changes however after Lorenzo tastes blood for the first time. He completely loses himself to obsession, spending hours licking a syringe just to be able to taste it. He completely loses his hope in the hemobars, having the drastic realization they do nothing, and lamenting how much longer he has to keep on living like this.
The story ends with the Priest remarking that after that shift, the only time he had seen Lorenzo genuinely happy was when he was about to be buried alive, when his head and brain were already completely decimated to the point he should be dead.
This... is already a lot.
Lorenzo's initial attitude, his positivity and naive belief that the hemobars are good despite the evidence to the contrary, are extremely close to how Hong Lu is right now. Upbeat, oblivious, always assuming the best of others. Hong Lu's passively suicidal tendencies could also track to Lorenzo's ending, how it's clear that Hong Lu is extremely willing to accept his own death.
...And then there's the whole middle of that story. There's a lot of different things this could be foreshadowing for Hong Lu's arc, but one thing is clear - he's not going to stay his upbeat self forever.
Every hint we've had about Hong Lu thus far. The implication he knows there's something that could make him distort all the way back in Hell's Chicken. The way we're told this Canto that Hong Lu's eye is dimming right after he comments how Donqui's twinkling eyes show she's "lucid", or living completely detached from reality. And then this, him being directly compared to a story of a Bloodfiend who upon finally being hit with reality begins to spiral and completely lose all his hope.
It all points to the idea that Hong lu will be forced to face his reality. To understand that his hemobars do jack shit and always have, that perhaps his family have never truly cared for him. And that realization could very well be the thing that finally breaks him.
I mean, his IDs already point to it, no? After all, Fanghunt Lu, possibly the most violent and deranged Hong Lu ID released thus far, one released alongside this part mind you, is shown to be actively thinking about and doubting the nature of family. "What even is a real family, I wonder?"
I'm just saying, if there's any Sinner who deserves to go utterly apeshit in their Canto, it would be Hong Lu. Let. My guy. Break Everything.

Puppeteer The Puppeteer (Homelander X Male Reader)
With The Seven constantly being on the hot seat, Homelander only wishes one thing during days like these, control. He wishes there were a way The Deep do less dumb stuff. He wishes A-Train wasnât some junkie that relies on drugs to use his powers. He wishes he could actually trust Starlight. He wishes Queen Maeve actually would listen to him and stop hating him. He wishes Translucent was still alive. He was fine with Black Noir.
With the lack of a member, he wishes someone more reliable to have in the team. Someone that meets all of his requirements, strong, obedient, trustworthy, basically everything that lacks with his current team. Thus, he got Ashley to scout for potential heroes.
ââŚAnd by doing this, we will be keeping up with the trend for more inclusivity.â
Homelander frowns and drops the information file on his desk. âYou really think someone blind and in a wheelchair would fit the team?â
âShe may be handicapped, but sheâs strong. Besides, we never had a handicapped person in The Seven.â
âTrue, but we do have one in the PR team.â Homelander ruthlessly comment. Without even looking at the offended Ashley, the blonde looks through the files of how he finds interestingly enough to take even a peek.
âLuckily, we many other candidates. Iâm sure we can reach a compromise-â Homelander drops the files on the side. Then he gestures to Ashley to give him the files sheâs holding. Sheâs quick to give it to him, making him to look again. âWe have plenty of strong heroes who will make the public-â She then stops talking when Homelander stops browsing to look at one file in particular. Judging by his face, he found his new hero. âWhoâre you looking at?â
With a satisfied smirk, Homelander continues to look through the file. âWe got our new member.â
-
âI highly advice to not get him.â In the hallway, Ashley is following Homelander, whoâs meeting his new teammate. âHe just made his break as a hero. He only got 11 followers on Instagram, most of them being family members. He caught only 2 burglars. Heâs an introvert and Iâm not surprised he only leave the house to do grocery shopping. The only good thing is that heâs gay, but I got 100 gay guys on my list.â
âI donât care about them. I want him.â Homelander insist. He doesnât stop walking. Not even looking at Ashley as he talks. âAnd if youâre going to have trouble having him good PR, that is your problem.â With that, Homelander enters his office, with Ashley following him with stress.
Inside of the office, Homelander is quick to see the young man, who looks a bit nervous. He stands up to give his new boss a nervous smile. âItâs an honor meeting you, sir.â
Homelander accepts his hand, smiling back at him. âPlease drop the formalities. Please treat me like you treat your friends.â
After introductions, Y/N sit back on his seat, while Homelander is sitting opposite of him. Ashley is standing at the side, wondering what her boss is up to. âI have to say, Iâm quite surprised I received a call. I just started all of this, and Iâm already being recognized by The Seven.â
âThere is a reason for that.â Homelander shows a kind smile. âYou got a gift like no other, Y/N. âI never seen a telepath that has such potential like you have. I know youâre an amateur right now, but I can see in front of me a hero that will save millions of lives.â
Y/N blushes a bit, didnât expecting to receive so many complements from his idol. âT-Thank you.â
âYouâre welcome. If you donât mind, I would like to see you demonstrating your powers. I want to see how good you are right now.â Homelander requests. âI want you to tell me something embarrassing of Ashley.â
Ashley looks alarmed, with Y/N being taken a little aback. ââŚI donât use my powers on people casually unless necessary.â
âDonât worry. Sheâs fine with it.â Homelander brushes it off. Although not wanting it, Ashley merely forced a painful smile. âBesides, considering this is about your future, donât you think itâs necessary?â
Y/N knows things seems off, but this is ones in a lifetime chance. So, he uses his powers. Within a second, his face looks disgusted. âWhat kind of BDSM shit are you in?â
Homelander looks amused as Ashley looks even more embarrassed. âI donât even need her to confirm it that you did it.â He then leans over. âNow for my final request. I want you to use your mind control power, take over Ashleyâs mind and do something ridiculous in the hallway.â
âWait-!â
Before Ashley could beg for Y/N not to, he did, though he feels a bit guilty. Her entire face only shows some hollowness. As she walks to the hallway, Homelander smirks and stand up. Both men get out of the hallway to see whatâs going to happen. There, Ashley stands in the middle of it, with people passing by, not knowing what is going to happen.
âAttention! People! Attention!â Every worker in the hallway looks at her. âI need to confess something! Yesterday, we had a party back at my house, but I didnât invited most of you. I want to apologize for sleeping in front of some of you and I was advised to go to the doctors.â Every worker frowns at hearing her. âI also want to apologize for the⌠âbathroomâ incident. I shouldnât drink that much, and I got karma for it. I puked over some of you⌠and Iâm sure you also saw me shitting in my pants at the same time. Again, Iâm apologize, and Iâm hope we can work normally from now on.â With that, she walks away. When sheâs gone from the scene, Y/N let go of her mind.
Homelander looks proud at him as he put his hand on Y/Nâs shoulder. âCongratulations teammate. Youâre in.â
-
Somehow, Ashley managed to create a story surrounding the new Seven member. Y/N apparently helped Homelander during a mission as a rookie, without knowing the big hero were there. Because of it, Homelander took the newly hero under his wing and train him. The whole spin is basically a sidekick and coach relationship, which worked well for the public.
Right now, itâs the first interview for the new hero. As he awaits in the lounge room, he nervously thinks through the interview, playing it in his mind. Homelander walks in, knowing Y/N is stressing.
âYou donât look too good, buddy.â
ââŚI never got interviewed before, thatâs all.â Y/N nervously steps on the ground. âEspecially not one at national tv.â
Homelander gives him an assures smile as he walks over to him. âRemember you can just be yourself. Itâs alright to be shy. In fact, Ashley would love to represent someone more introverted on the big screen. Just be humble, nice and honest, exactly how we met. Think you can do that?â
Y/N hums. âYeah. Iâm not one for scripts to be honest. But Iâm fine lying if it makes you guys lives a bit easier.â
Homelander looks proud. âThatâs my sidekick.â He put an arm around the younger man, who looks a bit nervous. âAnd donât worry. Iâm going to sit right besides you if you need me.â
Y/N canât help but smile. âThanks.â
-
Y/N been accustom quiet well in The Seven. He and Starlight became quick friends. He took training sessions with Queen Maeve. He and Black Noir often spend time together, since both arenât much talkers. He got stamina training from A-Train. He doesnât talk to The Deep because heâs currently off the team because he raped someone. Y/N isnât one to judge people quickly, but he makes an exception with him. That leaves Homelander, who spends the most time with. He helps him train his powers, his fighting moves and helping him PR wise. The boy often views Homelander as his mentor, and comes to him for general life advice, like today.
âI can tell there is something up your mind.â Homelander speaks up as both eat their lunches. âYou can talk to me.â
âWellâŚâ Y/N looks a bit uncomfortable. He takes a second for how to phrase it. ââŚSo, I met this guy at security. Heâs kinda my first friend that arenât you guys. But yesterday, he⌠he asked me out.â
This makes the blonde curious. âLike a date?â
âY-YeahâŚâ Y/N replies. âI never had one, so⌠Iâm a bit nervous.â
Homelander smiles, as he thinks through the situation. Heâs quick to have a solution in his mind for the new problem. âWant some advice? Just be yourself. He already knows you, so donât worry about presenting yourself as being social or something. Besides, there is nothing to be ashamed of being quiet.â
Y/N canât help but smile. âBasic advice, but your right. Thanks.â
âYouâre welcome.â
-
Later that day, Homelander got to the guyâs apartment to âfixâ the problem. Afterwards, all he had to do is send a text to Y/N the date is off because he wasnât interested. Knowing the effect heâs going to get; he calls it a day and await for the next act.
The next day, he met with Y/N in the training room, seeing him more stoic then usual. âEverything alright there?â
ââŚMy date bailed on me.â Y/N avoids looking at Homelander. âHe said he wasnât interested.â
âYou serious?â Homelander sits down at the side. Afterwards, he gestures his sidekick to sit besides him, which he does. âWhat a jerk. Are you alright?â
Y/N shakes his head. ââŚI-I was really looking forward for it. I thought, maybe now Iâm in The Seven, itâs fine to be the quiet guy⌠but it looks things hasnât changed a bit.â
Homelander put an arm around Y/N, scooting him a bit over to him. âDonât be ashamed. I know youâre an amazing guy. Youâre kind, polite, honest and a hard worker. If he called the date off, that is his loss, because any guy is lucky to be with you.â With that being said, he put his other hand on Y/Nâs knee, making the man blushing a bit as Homelanderâs face is so close.
âY-You really think so.â
âI donât think so. I know it.â Homelander smiles warmly. âThink youâre going to be okay?â
âYeah.â Y/N smiles. âIâm going to be fine.â
-
Some days later, Homelander invited Y/N to his room. Once there, he sees the blonde holding a bottle of champagne alongside two glasses on the table.
âSince you did so well last mission, I thought we should celebrate.â He opens the bottle, as a pop sound comes from it. With a smile, he tempts Y/N to drink, which he does.
With both men smiling, they drink the champagne from the glass as they sit down. Homelander is proud of his sidekick, now finally being stand on his own. Last mission, Y/N managed to mind control 10 people at the same time. Without even getting someone hurt, he successfully removed some terrorist who wouldâve ended innocent peopleâs lives.
âJust imagine what you can do in the future. Wouldnât be great if you could do, letâs say, 100 people?â
âI had already trouble doing with 10.â Y/N laughs. âItâs going to be a while before I can do even 20. That being said, itâs all thanks to you. You saw the potential in me and helped me achieve it.â
âYouâre welcome. I know talent when I see it.â Homelander smiles. âAnd I know youâre only to get better from here out.â
âI feel like that too.â Y/N sounds hopeful.
âAnd I continue train you. âŚBut I have something to confess to you. I have an ulterior motive.â
Y/N is curious. âReally? Whatâs it?â
âWellâŚâ Homelander avoids looking at him. âWhen I first saw your file, I knew you were going to be a great member, and I was more then happy to help you. But as I spend more time with you, I grew more attach to you. Not as a teammate, or a friend, but as someone who cares for you.â
Y/N looks a bit stunned. ââŚYou mean as a partner?â
Homelander looks back at him. âNothing would make me happier to have you at my side⌠as something more then a friend.â
âW-WowâŚâ Y/N continues to look startled. ââŚI-I never expected this.â
Homelander smiles. âItâs alright. Take your time.â
âI⌠I would be very happy to be your boyfriend.â
With a wider smile, the hero leans in and kisses Y/N, who nervously kisses back. Both of them being gentle with the other. It was short, but it was sweet, something what the blonde was going for. After the kiss, he put his hand on Y/Nâs cheek.
âYou look so beautiful. Iâm very happy to have you at my side.â
-
The next day and the big hero wake up in his bed. His eyes quick to look at the side to see Y/N lying next to him. His front is facing towards him. With a wide smile, Homelander get on his side to carefully hug Y/N, whoâs face is now against his chest. The new recruit mutters something.
âY/N?â
But it appears heâs still asleep. The blonde then looks pass Y/Nâs head. As he continues to smile, he knows he got what he wanted. To have someoneâs loyalty, now in the form of love. And to make it better, have someone that is powerful. With his powers, Homelander can use his telepathic abilities to get any information instantly and control someoneâs mind without any problem. Sure, he needs to mold his lover to do what he wishes, but if he continues to be patient and dedicated to his project, things will turn out very well.

Yes, yes, I haven't finished my work, but Hey,do you know that AA had a collaboration with the Otome game Stand My Heroes, which is actually not so strange considering the two designers of the game, namely Tatsuro Iwamoto and Kumiko Suekane. Tatsuro Iwamoto worked on otome games, and Kumiko Suekane on BL manga. By the way, the characters of one of her works (Retsujou) remind people of Miles and Phoenix. Interestingly, it was thanks to her that Miles not only received everyone's favorite design, but also his character traits. You see, according to the idea of ââthe author of the game (Shu Takumi), Edgeworth was supposed to be a sad but irredeemable character who would never get any player's sympathy. But when he saw her comic for the first game about Miles' love for Steel Samurai (which was probably based on Miles' encounter with Will Powers in Episode 3), he decided to make him more cute, which led to his redemption arc. by the way, this is exactly what Shu talked about in an interview, where he said that Phoenix thinks Miles is cute. Also, during the work on JFA, the decision to "kill" Miles was caused by Shu realizing that it would be weird to call Miles a genius prosecutor if he kept losing to Phoenix. This is how Franziska was made as well as the idea for, in my humble opinion, the best episode in the series Farewell, My Turnabout. Although Takumi's favorite episode is actually Turnabout Big Top, which is kind of weird, but hey, are you even listening to me? I'm not done.I haven't even told you about the capcom heroes 2012 calendar which looks like a yaoi doujinshi and I'm almost sure that it was actually drawn by wait where are you going?

I ADORE YOU. MORE ABUNDANCE YANQING AND YAOSHI. PLEASE.
So, can you please learn more tell about this theory?
(You draw beautifully.)
GAAAGHHHH this was the first thing I saw in the morning omg tsym <333 dw I've got my mitts on and I'll get to cooking o7 I assume you're asking me to explain the theory? Which I'll gladly do. Very long post incoming.
Essentially, the general idea is that Yanqing is related to abundance in some way, be it simply second-hand association, or he himself being an abomination/denizen of abundance himself - I personally believe in the latter. While I've made art of Yaoshi and Yanqing in a parental dynamic, it's not something I see as a viable theory, so much as it's just a fun little crack theory. Yaoshi is more likely a passive creator than an actual loving parent. There's a bunch of different interpretations for what Yanqing is and how he came to be based on the little pieces of evidence found in canon. One piece of evidence is his blonde hair.
As far as I can tell, the only other blonde Xianzhou characters are Dan Shu and Luocha (Luocha isn't a Xianzhou native himself, but he was a part of the quest so I'm including him anyway), both directly associated with the abundance, as well as Yaoshi themselves.
Interestingly enough, Dan Shu has the same hair part as Yanqing, but that could just be chalked up to design cohesion and framing the face/mask, rather than anything meaningful.
Edit: someone pointed out to me that Dan Shu's hair was initially brown, but after joining the disciples, it turned blonde.
Edit: I somehow forgot to include Phantylia, who has blonde hair in her third phase, and even a hair part. There's also a disciple of Sanctus Medicus in a cell in the shackling prison who also has blonde hair. Every character I've found who has blonde hair is either a disciple, or canonically connected to Yaoshi
(I considered adding Hongling, the fanatic fan in the stands of the Skysplitter, but I think his hair might just be dyed, which isn't too crazy an idea for a stan. Still mentioning him though, since he's a really weird character)
If you look closely at Yanqing's clothes, there's a reoccurring vine-esc pattern on all layers of his hanfu. They can also be seen on his sword. It doesn't necessarily mean much by itself, but it's an interesting detail I and others have noticed.
However, I want to point attention to Yanqing's phone case, because it's actually super interesting, and probably the most convincing piece of evidence imo. Not only does it relay the vine motif, but that to me looks like a leaf detaching from a branch and transforming into a swallow. If the characters' phone cases are meant to reflect their personality/reference lore elements, then this is probably the most blatant in terms of potential lore.
Edit: the little decals on the camera lense are in the image of Yanqing's hair ornament, which happens to look like a pair of leaves, midribs and all.
Speaking of swallows, has anyone noticed that there's flocks of golden swallows inside the roots of the arbor? I only noticed on my second playthrough, but I haven't stopped thinking about them since. How odd is it that out of any other bird, the arbor has swallows specifically. Of course, Swallows aren't Yanqing's motif alone, as the wardance teaser silhouette's have what look like swallows in the background art, but I still think it's important to bring up, considering Yanqing is literally COVERED in them, from his ornaments, to his swallow tail-shaped coat tail, to his entire playstyle.
Low-quality ss of the swallows for reference.
Luocha also has a line about Yanqing that, setting aside any theory-crafting, seems pointless. He has nothing to say, which, if he was truly genuine, what purpose does this line even serve? I can't infer much from the delivery of the other languages, since I have no knowledge on them or their social cues, but in en, the tone is very... discreet? It's just the way he says it is very off, like he's being dishonest. Too quick; too matter-of-fact; It's artificial honesty. I hope you get what I mean lol. I can only assume the va was directed to say it that way for a reason.
A passage from Yanqing's 2nd char story reads: "It's recorded in the military annals of the Cloud Knights how Jing Yuan came to discover the young boy, stood his ground against public opinion, and incorporated him into the armed forces. However, in the family lineage column, Yanqing's lineage was relegated to the category of unknown."
From Yanqing's 4th char story: "Some speculated that he [Jing Yuan] was cultivating an heir, others claimed he only kept him around just to use this kid as a secret weapon. Jing Yuan never offered a response."
Jing Yuan is really suspicious. Like, incredibly suspicious. Even more than Luocha. Yanqing is already known to be an orphan, but the lack of clarity over the details of Jy discovering him, as well as the fact that he has no known relatives in their database is very odd. Speaking to Jing Yuan's npc in-game allows the player to inquire about Yanqing's origin, but Jing Yuan's response is far from helpful. You'd think the man who decks out his Lieutenant in protective charms and locks, and who raised the kid from, at oldest, toddler years, would be a little more eager to spurge on about stories from Yanqing's childhood, but he instead chooses to dance around the topic and make light-hearted remarks about Qingzu's furphies. Obviously, you can't and shouldn't expect to get all of a characters lore in one serving, but revealing so little definitely implies a lot more, as we've seen with Luocha.
These details are the reason why, if Yanqing does turn out to be related to the abundance, be it a spawn of the arbor, or a creation of Yaoshi themselves, I believe that at least Jing Yuan knows and is keeping it all under wraps. Maybe the whole reason Jing Yuan assigned him as his aide in the first place was to keep a close eye on him. Rather ironic a general of the hunt would risk everything to protect the thing he's sworn to destroy.
But that's just my two cents. Thank you anon for giving me a reason to spurge about this theory finally, as it's become so dear to my heart.
More art will be posted as I go along, so don't touch that dial.

So, I recently watched the pilot for "The art of murder", an indie animated murder mystery show that just released it's pilot, and I have a theory on who did it. (Also if you haven't already: please watch the video, it is really amazing)
First off, I'm going to rule out Pip herself. I know it would be the easy anwer, but she didn't rip out the page the first night. This leads me to believe that she would not do it the second night either. Also, which artist rips out a page and leaves it so messy that you see where it was?
Now let's go to a round of motive, opportunity and will. We know that everyone has a motive, so we can't cross off anyone that way. And based on the evidence so far, anyone could have had the opportunity by waking up first. But who is the one that is the most determined and strong-willed, actually going through with it?
In my opinion, it's Albie. The first thing suspicious about her is that she isn't covered in anything after waking up, despite Winn and Sousuke being stained. She was on the same page as Winn and when opened, the sketchbook shows both Albie and Sousuke. When Winn got covered in water, the liquid could have gone through the pages and soaked her as well. If the book was open normally, there would be a high possibility that the mud that got on Sousuke could have hit Albie as well. But she's completely clean, leading me to believe that she was outside of the book when both staining incidents happened. Georgio was on a whole different page, so it makes sense that he stayed clean.
Then we have her willpower. We already know that Albie is very determined in her goals of entrepreneurship and that she is'nt and doesn't want to be a damsel in distress. If she really feared for her existence, she is the one that is really going to do whatever she thinks is necessary. But interestingly, after they discover the missing page, she says that she can't be a murderer, and that princesses are more likely to be killed. And this despite her prior attempts to clearly differentiate herself from other princesses and highlight her strength and independence.
Then there are the visual and behavioural clues.
When they were only meeting OC, she was already looking wary in the background. She doesn't smile and you can't see her eyes, meanwhile everyone around her is in an upbeat mood. She could have already realised by then what OC's existence could mean for her. Furthermore, Albie calls him "Not a real character", which sounds really suspicious, as OC clearly has personality traits and "character" is literally in his name. It could be nothing, but it does sound suspicious.
Then there is how involved she is in the investigation. She draws the conclusion, that the first to wake up would be the prime suspect. And when Georgio is about to investigate, she tries to say something about it. Everyone is involved in the case, but she is actively participating in the investigation process, which could be because she's nervous or tries to throw Georgio off. The other characters (outside of the literal detective) aren't as involved as Albie, so her behaviour sticks out.
Then there is the biggest clue so far: The dog was somehow involved, and the mud from his paws can be found on Sousuke. I can't make much sense of it currently, but it circles back to Albie somehow being clean when her page neighbours aren't.
But that's just a theory from someone who's currently watching too many detective shows.

ship: finnick odair x reader summary: reader rides finnick's face. prompted by anon!! includes: afab!reader, gn!reader, slight insecure!reader (she's nervous to sit on his face bc she's worried to hurt him but her weight/body type isn't mentioned), face sitting, f!receiving oral, vague mentions of finnickâs canon sexual trauma asked to be tagged: @lufvg word count: 0.9k
"I can hold my breath for a pretty long time," Finnick said, smirking. "So you don't have to worry about me, baby.â
You laughed at his words, but there was a nervous shake to the sound. It had been his idea, for you to try sitting on his face, and he was insistent that you could actually sit.
As in, put all your weight down on his face and focus on nothing but your own pleasure, which was an incredibly generous and appealing offer, butâŚa little scary, too. Surely even Finnickâs well-trained swimmerâs lungs couldnât withstand being smothered by your thighs.
He had already survived so much, it would be incredibly pathetic of him to die like that. When you told him as much, he grinned and said, âAt least Iâd die doing what I loved.â
You had rolled your eyes, but it had managed to ease your nerves. And so, you finally agreed to give it a shot, much to his delight.
Finnickâs past sexual encounters had not been about love or intimacy. When you met him, sex was something that he did because he had to, because it kept him safe, and well, he learned some valuable Capitol secrets along the way.
But now he was free of that life, and sex had become something entirely new and exciting for him. He especially enjoyed making you cum, as if your pleasure was something sacred to him.
Perhaps it was. To know that he had made you feel good, not because he was required to, but because he wanted to. Because he loved you, and he loved to make you feel good.
You hovered over him on the bed, bare from the waist down, only wearing one of his t-shirts. You straddled his shoulders, looking down at his face with a nervous grin.
âYou sure about this?â you asked.
âAbsolutely. Are you?â he replied, large hands rubbing soothing circles on your thighs, sneaking grabs at your ass.
âI think so. Do you promise youâll tap out if you need?â
You had previously agreed that if Finnick ever felt triggered during sex, he would tap your nearest body part three times, quickly. The same applied to this situation, whether it was something that upset him or merely the fact that it could be difficult to breathe properly with his face being smothered by your pussy.
âI promise,â he assured you. âNow, câmon. I wanna taste you.â
It was hard to resist when he spoke like that, and so you took a deep breath before adjusting your position so that your already wet pussy was right above Finnickâs pink, perfect mouth.
Slowly, you lowered your hips, sinking onto his face and gasping as his tongue immediately went to work, lapping at your clit desperately.
You moaned softly, grabbing the headboard to keep yourself steady. It wasnât the most comfortable position, but you understood the appeal.
Finnick whined against you, the action tangible against your cunt, a little vibration that made you pull up in surprise, just a tiny bit, but he wasnât having that. His hands grabbed your hips and pushed you back down onto his face, his tongue fucking into your hole.
It felt incredible, and you whimpered at the mixture of sensations: His strong grip, holding you in place, fingertips digging into your flesh. His tongue, moving inside of you. And, most interestingly, his nose, which was nudging against your clit, keeping the nerves stimulated while his mouth was otherwise occupied.
You werenât even sure he was doing it on purpose. Perhaps it was just a lovely coincidence, but the friction made your hips move of their own accord, rutting on his face desperately.
All the moving, combined with your wetness, it caused Finnickâs face to practically slide along your slit, somehow leading to the tip of his nose touching your hole, making you jump in surprise. It didnât feel bad, but it was definitely a strange feeling. Not bad, though.
You felt Finnick chuckle beneath you, mumbling something that sounded like âsorryâ as he fumbled to reposition you.
âDonât be,â you breathed.
He returned his mouth to your clit then, finally deciding it was time to make you cum, and it didnât take him long to bring you there. Your legs shook as your orgasm built, and Finnick held you tightly in place until you were crying out.
You carefully got off of him before laying beside him on your back, your body still shaky and pumped with adrenaline. Your legs ached from holding that position and your thighs were soaked.
Finnick rolled onto his side, smirking at you. His face was damp, shiny with your wetness. âSee?â he said.
You rolled your eyes, giggling. âOkay, yes. It was worth it.â
âAre you gonna thank me?â
âFor convincing me or for making me cum?â
âBoth.â
You smirked, eyeing Finnickâs hard cock in his pants. âI know a way to show you just how grateful I am.â
He grinned.

The Sims 2 PSP Cut Content: Part 1
I had been looking for the best way to implement this info on the Sims Wiki (but these are cut Sims, so there's not really a place for them? Or maybe someone else can do it). I've also been working on some videos talking about them. (I love watching these types of videos and prefer that visual format) but at this rate who knows when I'll finish it. So here we go! If you love Strangetown and crave any ounce of lore that you can get like me, here's a few townies. They even have their own secrets! Please read p6tgel's post to get all the info about the cut character TA7, everything I know about him is over there, so I don't have anything to add here. All I'm going to say is... I remember wanting to find out so badly who Mister Smith's friend was after playing The Sims 2 PSP for the first time. I'm so glad they actually did add more to the story. Learning more about the alien society and getting another title (like Pollination Technicians) just makes me want a Sixam neighborhood even more lol go read about it!!
Missing Kine Society Cult Members
Tunak Tun
Tunak is the only cut character that I could find photo evidence of in an old screenshot. He is a cut Kine Leader (like Sara Starr), as seen in his brown robe talking to Bull Dratch. The schedule file for the Kine Dairy indicates that Tunak would have spawned only during the day.
Unfortunately, it's a view of his back, but his character file confirms this appearance. (just want to say... the details on the Kine robes are actually beautiful. The crunched down quality we got in the final release makes them look like rags) Gender: 0 = female, 1 = male. The eye color is only specified if they're not the default brown. (I'll be using the Sims 2 PC to recreate them, as it shares a lot of assets with the PSP version)
Tunak Tun's Details
Bio: "A member of the Kine Society." social = 7, intimidation = 1, personality = 1, His social and intimidation scores are on the lower end for Deadtree locals, so social games aren't as difficult. He has the Air personality type. His topic sets (interests) are cow, cow milk, cow bell, cow beast, full moon, and crystal ball. A visual of these:
Tunak Tun's Secrets
(Personal): "Has been known to sneak in a burger or two on the sly."
(Intimate): "Likes to wear loose robes for that 'fresh and ventilated' feeling."
(Dark): "He actually just made up his other two Secrets. He's a pathological liar."
According to the game code, Tunak Tun would also count towards the goal to "Earn the Trust of a Kine Leader [Relationship 4]", just like Sara Starr and Sinjin Balani.
Zen Mu
Zen Mu is regular Kine Society member that wears a white robe. The schedule file for the Kine Dairy indicates that Zen would have spawned only during the night.
I went through every face template available in the Sims 2 PSP CAS and I can't find Zen Mu's (might be hidden like some hairs/clothes are) and I don't see the stubble hair in the PC version.
Zen Mu's Details
Bio: "A member of the Kine Society." social = 7, intimidation = 1, personality = 2, Their social and intimidation scores are on the lower end for Deadtree locals, so social games aren't as difficult. They have the Water personality type. Their topic sets (interests) are cow, cow milk, cow bell, and cow beast. A visual of these:
Zen Mu's Secrets
(Personal): "Severe lactose intolerance has made her unpopular in the Kine Society."
(Intimate): "She is deathly afraid of cows, but don't let the cows find out ⌠they thrive on fear."
(Dark): "When she meditates, her power animal is a horse ⌠the highest form of Kine blasphemy."
Interestingly, Zen Mu's gender and character model is male, but all 3 of Zen's secrets uses she/her pronouns. Small fun fact - Personal Kine robe for the player: It looks like we would have received our own kine robe at one point, probably after passing inspection, according to the item list file (item 72). Now, we can just go to a wardrobe and buy a robe ourselves.
Extra fun fact that I randomly like to talk about on my twitch streams, but I don't remember if I've said it over here? These two award winning cows were actually given names by the devs in the Kine Dairy level spawning file. Bessie and Gertie! <3

"Damn, who's pissed in your breakfast this morning?" Jimin laughs, trying to joke- but it's clear that Jungkook is genuinely angry with his packmate, heated glare sent his way.
"I told you, you were being too mean yesterday!" Hoseok scolds, smacking the younger wolf on the back of his head. "Now you ruined jungkookie's fun last night." He mumbles, looking at the youngest apologetically-
Though the wolf sits up almost proudly, a sly smile growing on his lips as he chews his food.
"Looks like he still got his dick wet." Jimin laughs, making Jungkook growl.
"I wasn't out to get my dick wet you dog!" He argues, before crossing his arms. "Was just.. driving around." He shrugs.
"You." Taehyung raises a brown before he sits down at the table as well. "Just driving around." He continues, making the youngest roll his eyes.
"You act like I'm always up to something." He accuses, before his phone buzzes on the table, quickly snatched away by Jimin who grins brightly while fighting against Jungkook's reaching hands.
"Movie sounds great, do you have one in mind?" He reads the message out loud. "Oooh, Jungkookie has an actual date?!" He exclaims, before the youngest wolf can snatch his phone back.
"Shut up." He growls, before he gets up to put on his jacket and boots, turning around once more. "Don't fuck this up for me. Next time you see us, just shut your mouth." He requests awfully.. nervously almost, before he leaves, door closing behind him.
"You think he's found someone he likes?" Taehyung wonders, pulling Jungkook's leftovers toward him.
"Looks like it." Hoseok shrugs.
"Huh." Jimin huffs, leaning bag with an almost proud smile. "Would you look at that."

Your apartment is cozy, small but very inviting, and most of all- it smells like you and you only, something that Jungkook enjoys a lot.
"Do you want me to dry your jacket?" You wonder, looking at him carefully taking off his wet jacket, since it's been pouring outside. Only now do you notice that, once he pulls off his beanie, it's the first time you see him like that.
Damn. Those tattoos really paint a full sleeve and some.
Not to mention the fact that his black sleeveless top hugs his body so tightly that it leaves almost nothing to the imagination- and in a way, that makes you a bit self-conscious. He seems like someone who works out a lot and often- would he think of you as less attractive once he notices you hide no defined physique underneath your clothes, but small rolls and chubby thighs?
Maybe. Maybe this is a bad idea.
Interestingly enough, it seems like Jungkook notices your change in mood- posture changing to appear less threatening to you, tail waving a little behind him to add to the appearance. It helps- if just a little.
"I mean- sure? If it's not a bother.." He answers your question, making you nod before you take the heavy jacket from him, glad to have something to distract yourself with.
"You can.. sit down? Or, I don't know- raid my fridge." You joke a bit stiff, before you flee the scene, hanging his jacket up in your little laundry room where your dryer has already warmed up the air, everything smelling of your favorite fabric softener. You actually sometimes take a nap in here, especially during winter- you're not sure why, but the smells and warmth offers you the bestest naps, especially when you sleep on your thick feather filled quilt.
It's an odd habit. Will he think you're weird if he finds out about that?
Once you return to your living room and kitchen space, you find Jungkook already looking inside the fridge, scanning the different snacks and drinks in there, visibly curious as his tail stands high. You can't help it, in that moment-
sneakily tugging just a little on the very tip, causing him to snap around, startled.
"Sorry!" You apologize immediately, shrinking back a little. "I- that was rude-" You start, when he wags his tail so much it smacks against the open fridge door, his laughter ringing through the small space of the apartment.
"No worries, was just caught off guard-" He reassures with a grin. "-you're really quiet. And those ears work really well!" He jokes, pointing to his pierced ear.
"Should I be louder then?" You wonder, reaching past him for a bottle of water. "So you can hear me?" You ask, and he looks at you for a second, before he chuckles, throwing his head back.
"You're so cute!" He barks out, before he closes your fridge, following you back towards your couch. And there, you sit as if you're being scolded almost- hugging your legs in the very corner, too shy to really be comfortable around him, and of course- he notices.
"What's making you uncomfortable right now?" He wonders, zapping through the recommended shows on your TV.
"Huh?" You ask, looking at him. "Nothing. I'm fine!" You laugh, though even that sounds more like you're just trying to pacify him, and it reminds him of one of his packmates' mates, back when she first met the whole group.
You're acting very similar. Intimidated, unsure where your place is. Trying not to step out of line.
"Hm, you're not." He chuckles, sitting back a little more relaxed. "Is it the tattoos? They're off-putting to some, my mom doesn't like them either." He chuckles, trying to ease the tension- something he craves out of pure instinct, because, considering his interest in you, he can't have his possible future mate be this uneasy around him.
He's supposed to be your person of safety and protection, someone you can and want to rely on- not someone you're scared of, in any way.
"No- not really." You shake your head, looking at them from the distance, noticing the colors and intricate details in some parts. "Just.. I don't know." You mumble.
"Is it the muscle?" He wonders, head tilting to the side a bit, and when you look away and adjust your position a little, he clicks his tongue. "Ah, please don't worry. I know how to control my strength!" He jokes playfully, but you shake your head. "No?"
"It's not.. that, at least not really?" You wonder, deciding that you better rip off the bandaid right now so it'll hurt less later. "You're just.. you look really fit, and I'm not. I'm lazy." You explain, without any demeaning tone thrown at yourself. "I don't really do any.. working out." You say, and he shrugs.
"Fine by me. It's your body, not mine." He offers, and you're unsure what to think about that statement.
Growing up, you learned from both your family and past friendships and relationships even, that every sentence uttered by mankind has some sort of second meaning. It created some sort of imposter syndrome for you in a way, as if every praise and compliment had some sort of background to it. Like you didn't deserve it- and people were simply too nice to tell you that blunt and openly.
So maybe it's not him saying that it's your choice and he doesn't mind it- but him saying that he's simply aware of the fact that he can't force you to do anything, but that he's glad he's not in your place. It's a far reach, and you know this- but the petty demon inside your head just won't shut up, ever.
Luckily however, the wolf next to you on the couch seems to have telepathic powers or something- or maybe he can smell your feelings? Because he immediately adds something to his words to soften up his statement. "The most important thing for me is that you're healthy and happy. I don't need anything else, really." He smiles encouragingly, and you shrug, before nodding.
"I guess." You just mumble, letting the awkward silence wash over you both while Jungkook chooses a movie, logging into his own account on your streaming service- something you notice. "You can just buy it-" You say, but he chuckles.
"Nop. Let me do that- I'd feel bad otherwise." He explains, buying the movie with his own money. So his last name is Jeon? You really didn't mean to look at it, but it's hard not to. It's when the movie starts that he leans a bit more onto your little sofa, opening his arms. "Can we cuddle?" He wonders, and you look at him a bit like a deer in the headlights. "I promise my friend down there will behave. I just wanna have you close- is that okay?" He wonders, and you shrug, unsure how to approach it.
Considering how long you've been living by yourself, you feel like you forgot how to properly.. cuddle at all. And it's like you just realize that right now- when was the last time you hugged someone? Held someone's hand? Or just sat close to someone else?
"You don't have to. I just.. wanna make you feel more at ease." He softly says, pausing the movie on the TV. "If you're not ready to be this close to me yet that's fine, and understandable. We can try another time-" He starts, but you shake your head.
"I just.. I've been living alone for a while now." You say, opening up at least a little bit. "I'm.. I don't know, it feels awkward now." You admit, and he nods, soaking up the info you give him.
"Alright, I can work with that." He smiles. "We can take it slow and easy, no issues." He shrugs, setting down his hands again.
And that's where they stay, as you both simply watch the movie-
Jungkook quietly leaving after you fall asleep, but not before putting a blanket from the couch over your body.

"I can't promise you they won't be weird-" Jungkook chuckles through the speaker in your helmet- a new one now, that you suspect he might've bought just for you, because it's a lot smaller and fits way better than the other one you've been given before. "-but I'll keep them in check." he reassures you.
"Are you like, the leader?" You wonder, unsure, and he chuckles again, stopping at a red light.
"No, I'll tell you who's who when we're there- I'm just a regular member, nothing more nothing less." He shrugs, one of his hands leaving the handle of his bike to rest on your thigh next to his leg, running up and down absentmindedly. "Is that okay? Or too much?" He asks, looking back for a second, though you can't see his face with the helmet covering his head entirely.
"That's fine." You say, genuinely meaning it- and you can't see it, but he's grinning brightly at this small step forwards, tail wagging. He's noticed you leaning against his back a lot more this time, slowly seeming to grow more comfortable on his bike, even so much so that you've begun to instinctively sit in the proper way to make driving easy for him.
And he also really enjoys you clinging onto him not in fear but comfort- but that's besides the main point.
The moment you arrive, everyone already standing around with their own bikes or by themselves, it's very clear that Jungkook's whole.. adventures with you has made the round. People are whistling and laughing, but it's also clear that it's just to tease him, and not in bad nature. You can even hear someone cooing when Jungkook reaches out to help you take your helmet off, bike standing secure on the kickstand, his own helmet already having been taken off. "Don't mind them. I'm the youngest of the pack." He admits, and you nod, smiling.
"You'll handle it, I'm sure." You agree, and he grins proudly, before he helps you get off the bike.
"Oh look at them, this is so cute!" Someone laughs, commenting probably on the fact that Jungkook had taken your hand in his to maybe offer you some extra security- something you appreciate.
"Please stop, you're scaring her off." He whines, as someone walks up beside you.
"Jungkook's right. Leave him be." A tall guy says, before he looks at you kindly. "I'm namjoon- not sure if he's told you already, but I'm the pack leader here " he offers, and you nod in greeting, smiling back. "I hope he treats you well- if not I'm gonna have to have a word with him." He jokingly threatens, making Jungkook roll his eyes.
"I'm treating her very well, thanks for asking." He snaps back, and you can't help but giggle a little at the banter they're both participating in.
Up close and personal like this, the whole pack of wolves doesn't actually feel all that threatening.
They're clearly playing around with him, teasing whenever he does anything considered affectionate towards you, and it's almost cute to see him glare at his friends for it. What makes you even happier is the fact that he doesn't mind being seen- he still makes sure you're always comfortable, checks in if you want to leave or if you're cold or if you're tired.
Right now, he's got you sat on his thigh, as he's sitting on the sidewalk- when there seems to be some tension rising, multiple wolves now moving to stand almost protectively in front of the rest. "Hey- stay here for a second yeah? I'll just check what's up." He says, helping you stand near his bike, before he leaves to do just what he said.
The way his tail suddenly rises, standing straight back, shows you that he's in an aggressive-defensive stance.
Somethings going on.
But it's resolved with simple glares from the pack, as Jungkook returns later to offer you your helmet. "Let's get you home, okay?" He says, and you nod, letting him help you with the helmet itself. "Don't worry, by the way. There's just some tension- and I'd like to.. not have you in the crossfire." He chuckles.
That's a nice thing to do, actually. He seems very much interested in your well-being, and that's new to you. But it's nice. Feeling like you're special.
Back at your home, he's helping you off his bike, taking the helmet from you- and you can't help yourself, as you unhook his own helmet with a click, before you slip it off his head, and lean in to kiss him.
It's a quick one, his helmet pushed into his hands as you run off into your home-
One look back making you laugh, as you see him frozen it appears like, tail wildly wagging behind him.

He's awfully cocky next time he visits you, instantly leaning down as you open the door to let him in. "What? Do I only get goodbye-kisses?" He complains, and you giggle, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
And he growls at that, though his wagging tail reassures you there's no anger behind it.
"You have to earn it." You say, and he glares at you.
"Isn't my giant crush on you enough?" He wonders, and you laugh.
"Maybe?" You shrug, putting on your jacket. "Well.. I'll think about it after the date." You tease and he grins.
"Well in that case, I'll be getting a ton of kisses after tonight." He beams at you, proudly so.
And you're sure of it.
He already earned himself quite a few.

Hi! Do you think Alastor and Lucifer are foils?
Hi!
Yes, of course they are!
Alastor and Lucifer's foiling starts in Dad Beats Dad (obviously), where they fight over Charlie's affection. They might seem as opposites throughout the episode, but they are actually the same, as they both try to impress Charlie with their powers:
[ALASTOR:] They say, when you're looking for assistance It's smart to pick the path of least resistance [LUCIFER:] Others say, that in your needy hour There's no substitute for pure angelic power!
Still, Charlie doesn't care and all she wants is for her parental figures to support her:
Charlie: How come he can have faith in me, but my own father can't?
In short, Alastor and Lucifer find pride in their abilities, but need to let go of it, in order to show their love for Charlie. By the end of the episode, they both accomplish this. However, they succeed in slightly different ways, that fit their shared motif of shadow and light. In particular:
Alastor is linked to shadows, as his abilities let him manipulate shadows
Lucifer is linked to light, as his name means morningstar and his powers manifest in light-beams
As a result:
Alastor's development happens in the shadows, whereas Lucifer's in the light - This is true also on a meta-level, as Alastor's arc is the secondary plot-line of the episode, whereas Lucifer's is the main one
Alastor acts as Lucifer's jungian shadow and becomes a catalyst for him to change. Similarly, Alastor himself is challenged to grow by his own jungian shadow, aka Husk
What is the jungian shadow? It is the repressed part of a person. In stories, a character might meet another one, who embodies this hidden part of the self. By integrating with the shadow, the character evolves. In other words, Alastor represents a repressed part of Lucifer and Husk a repressed part of Alastor. Let's see how it all plays out.
ALASTOR, HUSK AND MIMZY
Alastor and Mimzy's bond is unhealthy, as they both enable negative sides of the other. On the one hand Alastor keeps covering for Mimzy, no matter what she does. On the other hand Mimzy feeds Alastor's ego by praising his power and abilities.
So, Mimzy never faces the consequences of her actions:
Mimzy: Thanks for helpin' lil' old me out of a though spot. You're always such a pal.
And Alastor feels respected and appreciated:
Alastor: It's nothing I can't handle. Don't worry Husker. Who in their right mind would cross me?
However, the reality is that Mimzy is using Alastor and Husk points this out:
Husk: You and I both know Mimzy only shows up, when she needs something. That bitch is trouble and who knows what kinda demon she fucked with to come running to you this time?
Not only that, but he openly calls Alastor out on his pride:
Husk: Big talk for someone, who's also on a leash.
Which results in Alastor reacting in anger:
That said, Husk is proven right. It turns out Mimzy has willingly brought chaos to the hotel, so that Alastor could solve things for her. Because of this, Alastor finally cuts ties with her:
Alastor: You deliberately brought danger to this place just to have me clean up your mess. I can't have that here.
This choice is important and it shows how the people around him are slowly impacting Alastor. On the one hand the Radio Demon listens to one of his subjects' advice. On the other hand he acts to protect the hotel. As a matter of fact the moment Alastor steps up as the Host of the Hotel isn't when he sings to Charlie in Hell's Greatest Dad nor when he transforms into a giant and fights. It is when he sends Mimzy away and sacrifices a little bit of his pride to do so. interestingly, this happens as nobody is looking at him, so he isn't really trying to impress nor to trick the others. He acts selflessly in the shadows.
LUCIFER, ALASTOR AND CHARLIE
Lucifer and Charlie's bond is strained:
Charlie: We just have never been close. After he and mom split, he never really wanted to see me. He calls... sometimes, but only if he's bored or like, needs me to do something.
At the root of this conflict there is Lucifer's inability to show his daughter how much he cares. He struggles to express his feelings and hides them behind a prideful persona:
Charlie: I told you when you called me five months ago. Or did you not listen? Lucifer: No, no, no, no. Just, you know, I just forgot. I've just been really busy, ya know with um... important things.
Instead of openly admitting his depression and sadness he prefers to look cold and uninterested. Even dismissive and condescending, like when he arrives at the Hazbin Hotel:
Lucifer: Wow, this place sure looks, uh... Uh-uh. Yeah. Uh-uh. It's got a lot of character!
Lucifer is initially too focused on what he cares about - meeting his daughter - rather than on what Charlie wants - for him to help her with the hotel. He happily hugs Charlie and then immediately moves on to pet Keekee, Razzle and Dazzle, who are his own creations. Only later he considers the welcome Charlie and the others have prepared for him. Even then, he still misses the point and tries to buy Charlie's love by showing off his magical powers:
Haha, looks like you could use some help From the big boss of Hell himself
Except that what Charlie wants from him aren't champaigne fountains or caviar mountains, but an appointment with Heaven, which he negates her. Not only that, but instead of being honest about his fears, he deflects everything on Charlie herself, by dismissing her plan:
Lucifer: Alright, listen, I love that you want to see the best in people, but these sinners... You know, they're just the worst. I, I don't know how much you can realistically expect from them in Heaven.
Luckily, the Radio Demon is closeby, as he forces Lucifer to show his true self.
On the one hand Alastor brings out Lucifer's insecurity and fears:
I'm truly honored that we've built such a bond You're like the child that I wish that I had I care for you, just like a daughter I spawned It's a little funny, you could almost call me dad
He juxtaposes moments of everyday life and affirmations of affection to Lucifer's materialistic and fancy promises. In this way Alastor highlights the faults of Lucifer, as a father. He points out that Lucifer is never there for Charlie.
On the other hand Alastor embodies the kind of sinner Lucifer despises:
Lucifer: Ya see? What I tell ya? Charlie, sinners are violent psychopaths, hell bent on causing as much pain and destruction as they can. There's really no point in trying.
And yet, such a violent psychopath is more willing to help Charlie than Lucifer himself:
Charlie: Dad, stop! He's defending this hotel. It may be a bit more sadistic than I'd hoped. But he's doing it for me!
This realization leads to a confrontation between father and daughter and to an admission on Lucifer's part:
Lucifer: I just don't want you to be crushed by them like... like I was.
The problem isn't Charlie, but Lucifer himself. It is not that Charlie's dream is silly, but that Lucifer's one has been destroyed. This revelation is important because Lucifer's mask comes off and he shows Charlie his weakest and most broken self. He swallows his pride and has Charlie see who her father really his. In all his mistakes and his hurt. And to his surprise Charlie accepts him. Not only that, but she admires him:
So in the end, it's the view I had of you That showed me dreams can be worth fighting for
Symbolically the song More than Anything starts with Lucifer and Charlie in the shadows:
They are repressing a lot and have no idea who the other is. Still, as the song goes on, they get to understand each other:
All that I'm hopin', now that my eyes are open Is that we can start again, not be pulled apart again 'Cause in the end, you are part of who I am
And they end the song surrounded by light:
What is initially in the shadow comes to light in three different ways:
Lucifer shows Charlie his true self
Lucifer sees Charlie for who she is
Lucifer exhibits his weakness in front of the whole Hazbin Hotel. He lets the sinners he dislikes so much witness the mess that he is.
His fragility is in full display. It is in the light for everyone to see.
PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWERS! ITTY BITTY LIVING SPACE!
Another similarity Alastor and Lucifer share is that they are two powerful beings that give much importance to free will:
Alastor: You should know better than anyone what a soul can accomplish when they take charge of their own fate.
Charlie: Together, they wished to share the magic of free will with humanity.
And yet, they are both trapped:
Alastor: I'm hungry for freedom like never before The constraints of my deal surely have a backdoor Once I figure out how to unclip my wings Guess who will be pulling all the strings?
Charlie: As punishment for their reckless act, Heaven cast Lucifer and his love into the dark pit he had created, never allowing him to see the good that came from humanity, only the cruel and the wicked.
On the one hand Alastor controls many souls, but his own is owned by someone else. On the other hand Lucifer is the strongest being in all of Hell, but he is regarded as a disgrace by other angels.
Moreover, they both project their unhappiness on others. Specifically, Lucifer blames sinners like Alastor:
Lucifer: Our "people", Charlie, are awful! They got gifted free will and look what they did with it! Everything's terrible!
While Alastor lashes out on his prisoners, like Husk:
Alastor: If you ever say that again, I will tear your soul apart and broadcast your screams for every other disrespectful wretch who dares to question me.
Still, the point is that Lucifer is exactly like Alastor. He is a gifted creature, who messed up royally and cursed humanity. Alastor instead is exactly like Husk, a powerful overlord, who still finds himself chained. Lucifer is the most hated being in all of creation and Alastor is on a leash. They are both lonely and desperate, but too proud to admit it. In other words, they are both losers:
Husk: There was a time I thought no one could relate To the gruesome ways in which I'm damaged But lettin' walls down, it can sometimes set you straight! We're all livin' in the same shit-sandwich
Just like everyone in Hell. And yet, this is not bad per se. Even if you hit rock bottom, you can still climb back up, as long as you let go of self-importance and start to earnestly empathize with others. As a matter of fact it is only through community and bonds that a person can be redeemed and heal:
Out for love Love Think of who you care about Protect them and be out For love Love You're gonna fight without gloves Long as you're out for love
This is what Alastor and Lucifer are learning through Charlie.
TWO DADS, ONE DAUGHTER
Season 1 sets up Alastor and Lucifer as two mentor figures to Charlie. They share this role in a way, which makes them almost perfect mirrors. Some examples:
Lucifer gives Charlie the hotel building and Alastor calls it Hazbin Hotel
Alastor helps repair the Hotel in the beginning, while Lucifer assists Charlie in building it anew by the end
Lucifer guides Charlie to Heaven, as he sets up her meeting with Sera and Emily. Alastor instead guides Charlie in Hell as he introduces her to Rosie and helps her inspire the cannibals
Both Alastor and Lucifer believe in Charlie, when she is at her lowest. Alastor does so before the final battle, whereas Lucifer after the fight
Alastor and Lucifer fight Adam (another foil of theirs) in the final episode. Moreover, both belittle his abilities and highlight how he is strong, but unskilled:
Alastor: You lack discipline, control and worst, you are sloppy!
Lucifer: So, this is what you've been up to since Eden? Gotta say, you really let yourself go buddy.
In particular, Alastor is the one supposed to take Adam down, but fails and Lucifer steps in by the end. This is just like in the beginning Lucifer is supposed to support and help Charlie with her project. Still, he is absent and Alastor fills the spot.
In other words, Alastor and Lucifer are unwillingly complementary and so far one has appeared when the other has been incapacitated. We'll see if this pattern continues. As for now, they are clearly framed as key to Charlie's development, so it is possible they will come to embody different sides of her:
Alastor represents the sinners Charlie wants to reach and all their pain and complexity. He is also linked to fear and the unknown. He is the ally she finds by herself. He is the found family Charlie chooses.
Lucifer represents the angels Charlie wants to communicate with. He is also linked to dreams and ideals. He is the legacy she inherits. He is the biological family Charlie wants to re-connect with.
In short, they are both parts of who Charlie is and she needs them to grow into herself. Just like they need her to mature and find redemption and happiness.
